What's your favorite Naruto story arc (manga or anime)?

I especially liked the "Konoha Hiden" arc in the anime (episodes 494-500), mainly because I was a big fan of the book and the way it focused on the secondary characters, (one of the series greatest strengths IMHO).

It was also a really good adaptation, greatly expanding on the source material, and adding some really nice gags and character moments.

And the final NaruHina wedding scene was just pure perfection.

It was the perfect way to end the original series and it will always have a special place in my heart.

Kakashi-Sensei Moments with Konoha 12 (Except Team 7)

- Angry at Gai for teaching Lee self-destructive jutsu

- Held Neji’s hand to stop him from killing Hinata

- Asking the condition of other Genin on Sasuke retrieval mission

- Accompany Team 10 on their pursuit towards Hidan and Kakuzu to prevent them from doing anything reckless

He also protected Shikamaru and Choji from Hidan and Kakuzu’s deadly combi attack with his body.

- Explaining and Praising Shino’s Ability

- Sacrifice his life to protect Choji

- Visualize Konoha 12 in his mind just before his death

- Assess Kiba, Lee, and Sai’s condition then move them to a safe place from the middle of the road

little note : if we assume that he carried Kiba first and Lee the last, then he purposely put Akamaru besides Kiba and away from others. And that’s so cute of him, especially since later their sleeping gesture turned into this :

- Grieve for Neji’s death and recount him as one of his friends whom he swore to protect but failed.

Bonus

- Praise Kankurou for his quick-thinking

- Reassure Gaara and accept his issues

This is anime-only scene, but it’s too golden to be left out (I am biased and I regret nothing).

Then, when they truly got ambushed by Suna shinobis:

Tl : dr : Even though Kakashi is Team 7 jounin sensei, he cares for all future generations and they’re equal in Kakashi’s eyes. Kakashi is always ready to help those kids, even at the expense of his own life.

Sasuke Uchiha

One of the two Strongest Shinobi Alive, The one with the Sharingan and Rinnegan. Only Shinobi equal to Naruto.

Known as Shadow Hokage, one who protects Konoha from outside through the shadows.

Former Avenger.

Sacrificed normal peaceful life i.e. living with his wife Sakura and beloved daughter Sarada to protect Shinobi world from threat that might be greater than Kaguya, as he was only one who could do this mission (due to his visual prowess) which led him to staying away from his family for years. Likes to blend science of nature in his jutsus for example: creating barrier of pure water i.e. pure H2O so it doesn't conduct electricity like normal water and creating ice using water nature and wind nature together. (Source: Sasuke Shinden: the star pupil)

Man because of whom the formation of Shinobi Alliance was possible in first place.

Has to do the mountains of paper work, sometimes he overworks himself leading him not being able to spend much time with his family(Hinata, Boruto and Himawari), all for the well being and development of village that he considers as a family to him.

Most unpredictable Shinobi in history of Shinobi world.

Before becoming a Hokage he used to train next generation ninjas of academy occasionally during his Hokage training.(source:The Last movie and Sakura Hiden)

Fun Fact: He is only Hokage to be directly promoted from Genin to Hokage. (but considering the fact that he is more powerful than any other kage, Jonin and chunin so participating in Chunin exam at that point would be pointless)😀

2) Before anyone asks why Kakashi Sensei isn't on list it's because I consider him as very foundation of this four pillars, the work they are doing at this point was possible due to Kakashi aka Rokudaime's support and guidance.

For those of you who have read Gaara Hiden, you probably remember this character. For those who haven’t, Shijima is the older sister and bodyguard to the girl Hakuto, with whom the Suna Council had attempted to arranged a marriage for Gaara. The events of the story basically leads to Hakuto and her lover eloping. Gaara fakes their deaths so they can go into hiding in Konoha together under the Nara Clan’s jurisdiction (yes Shikamaru is the one who helps). Shijima, however, ends up staying with Gaara and working for him...so here is my exploration of her character and my interpretation of her design. TBH I’m not sure if I like where it is right now, so she might change, because there’s not very much for us to go on regarding her appearance lmao

I imagine several months following the events of the novel, Gaara checks in with Shikamaru about Hakuto and her lover, now husband, Shigezane.

And this about sums up their general dynamic. She finds endless amusement watching him grapple with fatherhood and definitely teases him a lot, but she’s once of the few people he really trusts to talk to and they’re just really good friends.

So, what are your top 10 biggest frustrations/complaints with the changes made by the Naruto anime (unrelated to filler).

The fillers were a big complaint to be honest, but if I were to exclude them, then in no particular order...

Having the anime end with Konoha Hiden/NH's wedding, rather than seeing Naruto as the Hokage, as done in the manga. How could they not have the anime end that way? Naruto becoming the Hokage was the dream from the very beginning.

Butchering the SS scenes in the anime, there are a lot of examples of this, but I'll just leave it to the three scenes which I discussed during this post, as they're the ones which bothered me the most.

Making Sakura hit Naruto for no reason in the anime, far more than she ever did in the manga.

Changing the order of the Hiden novels for no apparent reason.

Changing Naruto Gaiden to show that Naruto and Sasuke had a private talk in the Hokage's office, rather than their talk being part of the 5 Kage Summit with Sakura and all of the other high ranking village members, as was done in the Gaiden manga.

Yamato: Both impressive and concerning.

My two favorite brainy boys, Kakashi and Shikamaru keeping Konoha running...

For book lovers, it was animated, but I would suggest giving Shikamaru Hiden a read (and Sasuke's and Sakura's, heck all of them). It really explores their relationship in great detail and shows how they learn from each other, e.g., *spoiler* Shikamaru had absolutely ZERO respect for Kakashi when he became Hokage, but grew to deeply respect him and Kakashi learns to "adult." For Kakashi fans, he's in all of them and they explore his relationship with the title characters with him as Hokage, not as the main plot, of course, but the undertones are there.

No fr the search for Tsunade arc shows how shinobi never belong to themselves even if they're from a privileged clan and have ties to important people. We know that already bc in the Wave arc Kakashi explains that even in death, shinobi corpses can be used by/against their village, but this is yet another example. Tsunade is 54 with terrible ptsd and freaking hemophobia, which makes her completly unable to fight or even heal properly, she already fought for her village in TWO great wars and lost her brother and fiancé in them (plus seeing her teammate and presumably friend Orochimaru lose his parents then become a crazy ninja scientist and torturing ppl), she just wants to gamble and drink her life away, and while she was left relatively alone for a while, which im assuming is thanks to Hiruzen being somewhat considerate to ppl sometimes, she still ended up having Jiraiya running after her ass to try to force her to be a Hokage (a position she doesnt want and despises, which he KNOWS) while simultaneously threatening to kill her if she goes against the village by...doing her job as a healer and healing Orochimaru's hands (im sorry but has naruto world never heard of the fact that doctors are required to help patients regardless of their crimes). And she was only considering that bc Orochimaru was offering her to resurrect her loved ones, who wouldnt have died in the first place if Konoha wasnt a warmongering place that sent her 12 yo child soldier brother to death. And then some blonde kid starts yelling at her bc hes jealous that shes offered the Hokage position, which again, she believes has gotten her grandfather, granduncle, brother and fiancé killed without bringing any peace whatsover. Then she reluctantly accepts and is dragged into the village to do paperwork all day everyday and risk her life against godlike ninjas like Pein and Madara, again for a village that she resents and that hurt her. And apparently in Kakashi Hiden Naruto calls her a bad Hokage. For doing better than all the Hokage before her despite being a victim of the state and hating the job. She rebuilt Konoha TWICE and kept it standing through the 4th great war. She surpassed by far the Nidaime and Shodaime Hokage when it comes to ruling, and I think she should've been allowed to destroy that cursed place as a treat.

I'm reading Konoha Hiden and I think that's suspicious how Shino hates alcohol but still knows most of the alcohol brands being sold in Konoha.
