Kakashi and Yamato Highlights from Naruto Retsuden:

Sasuke's narration putting Yamato being Kakashi's “partner” in quotation marks like it's a euphemism!!

Kakashi going into his interactions with Yamato with teasing about what an excellent ninja he is but also very genuinely reflecting on how powerful, humble and steadfast he is.

Yamato saying, “And there you go again,” suggesting Kakashi complimenting him is a frequent thing, and then telling Kakashi that since he's older he's not susceptible to flattery anymore but immediately smiling anyway and the narration saying he's happy to receive the compliments.

Kakashi immediately identifying how Yamato feels when their first combined jutsu doesn't work as intended: “You’re worried. I am too,” Kakashi said in a light tone, perhaps guessing at Yamato’s anxiety.

The implication from Sakura that Kakashi and Yamato will be late to the mission because they are taking a group nap from training too hard: “I guess they were up all night practicing. Said they used all their chakra and their energy, so they were dead asleep until just a little bit ago.”

The little stretches they do together after the group nap: Kakashi and Yamato had also arrived, but they looked sleepy, like they had just woken up. They were putting their backs together, pulling on each other’s arms, doing stretches.

(Chapter 4)

Kakashi parked his car right in front of Senju Cafe. As he said when he took Tenzo home that time, tonight he came. He came to try the coffee provided at the cafe. He also came because he wanted to know what the inside of Senju Cafe was like, because at that time he didn't have time to go in. But...the number one reason why he came....was...because he want to meet Tenzo.

Today is Saturday, so Tenzo didn't come to his house to work as a nanny. That's why he want to see Tenzo. Kakashi himself felt strange, why he "want to" see Tenzo, and now when he was standing in front of the cafe door, for some reason his feelings were pounding.

"What's wrong with me?" Kakashi shook his head. He then inhaled and exhaled, then pushed open the cafe door.

Ting tong!

The bell hanging at the top of the door rang when Kakashi opened it.

"WELCOME!" Greeted a voice in its usual cheerful tone. That's Tenzo's voice.

"Oh...welcome sir!" Tenzo said surprised

As usual, his shoulder-length brunet hair was left loose and he was still wearing a t-shirt with a picture of a cat (this time turquoise). His wide eyes looked right at Kakashi.

So sweet and cute as usual...Kakashi thought.

"Please sit down sir..." said Tenzo with a smile.

Kakashi realized then nodded. He closed the cafe door then he walked towards the counter where Tenzo was. While walking, Kakashi could inhale the aroma of coffee and hear the strains of 90's ballad songs.

Kakashi sat in the middle seat, right in front of Tenzo.

"How are you, sir?"

"Umm...fine.."

I'm so glad you came here, sir...". Tenzo said it sincerely and innocently, without realizing that his words made Kakashi's face turn red.

"This is the menu, sir. What would you like to order?"

Kakashi cleared his throat to get rid of his awkwardness and accepted the menu Tenzo offered. "Thank you. Umm...I'll just order a hot americano..." answered Kakashi while looking at the menu.

"One hot americano. Alright. Would you like to order some food too, sir?"

"Oh...ummm...I'll order a cheese and smoked beef croisant."

"Okay. Please wait a moment sir, your order is coming soon." Kakashi nodded.

While waiting, Kakashi paid attention to the inside of the cafe. There are 3 tables with 2 chairs facing each other at each table. One table near the door, one table in the corner of the room, and one near the counter. A man and a woman were seen sitting opposite each other at a table near the door, chatting. Meanwhile, at the corner table, an old woman was sitting alone, knitting. At the counter itself there were 3 chairs, and Kakashi sat in the middle chair. Even though it's not spacious, the cafe feels comfortable.

"Thanks for waiting, sir. This is your order..." said Tenzo while placing a cup of hot americano and a plate of warm cheese and smoked beef croisant.

"Oh...thank you. Are you alone? Where's your aunt?"

"Aunt Tsunade is resting upstairs because of a cold, sir..."

"Oh...i see." Kakashi took his coffee cup, inhaled the aroma, then took a sip. "Hummm... really delicious..." he said.

"I'm glad you like it, sir."

"To be honest, I'm curious... when you made coffee for me yesterday, the coffee tasted much better than what I make. Even though I'm sure you made the sachet coffee that I usually make too, right?"

"Really, sir?"

Kakashi nodded. "How can you make it taste better?"

Tenzo smiled "Oh...that's a secret, sir..." he said while blinking one eye. Kakashi became embarrassed.

"We'll go home, Tenzo!" said the male visitor.

"Thank you very much for the coffee!" said the female visitor

"You're welcome, Izumo, Shizune. Please come again..." answered Tenzo while waving his hand.

"See you Grandma Chio!" said Izumo and Shizune while waving at the old woman who was knitting at the corner table. The woman looked up and smiled.

When Izumo and Shizune closed the door, Tenzo asked Kakashi.

"They look like a very lovely couple, don't they sir?" Tenzo said.

"Huh???" Kakashi turned towards the door... "Yeah, I think so..." He wasn't really sure about the answer because he had only glanced at them briefly.

"They first met in this cafe, sir..."

"Did they?"

Tenzo nodded. "It was raining heavily at that time, while Shizune had to immediately return to her office, but she didn't bring an umbrella. Coincidentally Izumo brought an umbrella, and he offered to take Shizune..."

"Oh... I see... what a coincidence..." said Kakashi in response.

"It seems the Cupid was also here at that time, and shot his arrow at them..." Tenzo chukled. "By the way sir, is it okay to leave the kids at home at night?"

"Oh... I was supposed to be at home with them tonight. But suddenly there was a meeting at the office. In the past, when there was no nanny and I had to work late into the night, sometimes I took them to the office. "Am I?" Kakashi felt his cheeks flush again.

Luckily, suddenly the cell phone in his pocket rang. From Gai. Kakashi signaled to Tenzo that he had to take the call first. Tenzo invited him then went to tidy up the cups and plates on Izumo and Shizune's table.

"What?"

"My friend, I don't see you anywhere in this bar. Where are you hiding"

"Sorry, I didn't go to the bar..."

"What? Why? Don't tell me that you're afraid of getting drunk and revealing all your secrets to us..." came Genma's voice. Looks like Gai turns on the loudspeaker.

"No. I have another thing to do."

"What thing?" Genma asked again.

"It's personal." Kakashi answered briefly.

"Ooooh... could it be that you're dating the new nanny, huh?" Gai asked in a loud voice.

"Don't be inconsequential!" Kakashi said quickly.

"Kakashi...you've always been bad at lying. You must be having a romantic dinner with her, right?" Genma said.

Kakashi just sighed. "Alright, have fun, guys..." Kakashi was about to end the conversation.

"Wait! Wait! It's okay if you can not go to this bar tonight. But I think you should join the tomorrow night event..." said Gai.

"Tomorrow night event?"

"To celebrate our success, Anko suggested that there be a party at the office tomorrow night."

"A party?"

"More precisely, a couple dance party..."

"Couple dance party? What for?"

"According to Anko, apart from celebrating our success in winning a big tender, the party will allow all employees to get to know each other better. I know, that sounds ridiculous, but the director, her father of course, agreed to it. And obliged everyone to come . Especially you.."

"Me?"

Kakashi didn't say anything.

"Okay buddy, we will take another drink. Have a nice date there..." Gai said again in a teasing tone.

Kakashi put his cellphone on the table. Take another breath. Honestly, he wasn't at all interested in coming to the dance party tomorrow. There is nothing wrong with celebrating the success of winning a tender. After all, it is obtained through serious struggle and preparation. He himself even lacked sleep to prepare it. Kakashi was confused about how to explain it to Tenzo, so he answered briefly "I can't dance..."

Tenzo gaped.

"What?" Kakashi asked.

"You won't come there tomorrow just because you can't dance?"

"Umm...yes..." Kakashi answered hesitantly.

Tenzo sighed. "Alright then, I will teach you, sir." Tenzo said with his hands on his hips.

"Wait...you don't need to..."

Tenzo tapped the tablet screen next to the cash register, selecting a song. Then walked out of the counter, heading towards Kakashi. The intro music from the song "I Have Nothing" by Whitney Houston was heard.

"Tenzo...i can't dance..."

"That's why I'm gonna teach you, sir."

"But...."

"Come on!" Tenzo grabbed Kakashi's right hand and took him to the middle of the room. They stand facing each other. Tenzo put Kakashi's right hand behind his left waist, then put his left hand on Kakashi's right shoulder. Then he raised Kakashi's left hand and held it.

"Just follow my steps, sir..." Tenzo whispered near Kakashi's ear. Kakashi felt that now his face was completely red.

Kakashi repeatedly made the wrong move and stepped on Tenzo's foot.

"Sorry..." said Kakashi. He stopped walking.

"It's alright, sir. You can do it. Just relax and feel the music..." said Tenzo smiling.

In such that close position with Tenzo, Kakashi didn't know how he could relax. He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly.

"Ready, sir?" Tenzo asked. Kakashi nodded. And they started walking again.

Even though he tried to relax, sometimes Kakashi still had difficulty adjusting his steps.

Tenzo removed his left hand from Kakashi's shoulder, then by lifting his right hand which was still holding Kakashi's left hand, Tenzo spun beautifully. Then he grabbed Kakashi's shoulder again.

"You did it, sir!" Tenzo said happily.

Kakashi looked at Tenzo, his right hand was still holding Tenzo's waist, and his left hand was still holding Tenzo's right hand, time seemed to stop, and that's when his heart said... I have nothing... if I don't have you...

"Umm...Sir..." said Tenzo

"Huh???" Kakashi realized.

"You can let go of me now..."

"Oh, sorry..."

The two of them were a bit awkward...

Thankfully the awkward atmosphere was then broken up by Grandma Chio.

"Tenzo dear... I'll go home..." said Grandma Chio.

"Oh...alright, granma chio. It's always nice to have you here. Please come back again..."

"I will. And this is for you, dear..." Grandma Chio put a knitted scarf around Tenzo's neck.

"Oh...grandma chio...this is so beautiful...thank you so much..."

"You're welcome, dear. This really suits you. You are so beautiful too..." said Grandma Chio, smiling and touching Tenzo's cheek. She then turned to Kakashi. "I can see that you are a good guy." She said while patting Kakashi's shoulder. "Please take care of Tenzo..." she added while whispering near Kakashi's ear and making Kakashi's face blush again...

"Alright, I'm gonna go home now..." Grandma Chio walked towards the door then turned to face Kakashi and Tenzo and said "I think...the Cupid has released his arrow again in this cafe..." then Grandma Chio opened the door and left the cafe.

Kakashi and Tenzo were silent and the atmosphere became awkward again.

"Umm...I think the kids are waiting for me at home...so...I have to go home too..." said Kakashi while scratching the back of his head.

"Oh...you right sir...they must be...waiting for you..." said Tenzo.

Kakashi paid for his coffee and croisant.

"Umm...thank you so much for the coffee and the croisant...and also...for the dance lesson..." said kakashi.

"You're very welcome, sir. Thanks for your coming to night.."

Kakashi nodded. "Umm...see you..."

Tenzo smiled. Kakashi then turned and walked towards the door.

The next morning, while cleaning the cafe with his aunt, Tenzo's cell phone rang, it was Kakashi.

"Good morning sir.."

"Morning tenzo. Umm...I'm sorry for calling you this morning. Can you help me?"

"Sure. What can I do for you, sir?"

"Umm...I think I will come to the party tonight."

"That's great, sir"

"And that's why I want to know...if you can help me to accompany my kids tonight?"

"Ummm..." Tenzo looked at his aunt. From behind the counter, Tsunade, who was counting money at the cash register, seemed to know what Tenzo meant, then she smiled and nodded. "Alright sir, I will come to your house tonight..." replied Tenzo.

"Great! I'm really sorry for bothering you..."

"No problem, sir."

That evening, Kakashi came downstairs dressed neatly.

"Wow dad...you look so handsome tonight!" Sakura said.

"Just tonight? Don't I usually look handsome?"

Sakura laughed "Of course you always look handsome. But tonight you look a million more..".

Kakashi laughed and rubbed Sakura's head. "Thanks, darling."

"Honestly, I don't like that couple dance party..." said Sakura.

"Why?"

"Because there is no one in your office who is suitable to be your dance partner. I don't like all the female employees in your office. I can see that they have hidden intentions when they see or talk to you. Moreover, that woman with black hair tied into a ponytail above..."

"You mean...Anko?"

"Yes, she is. She looks cunning. You have to be careful with her."

Kakashi laughed. "I will be careful. Thanks for your suggestion, sakura."

Ting tong! The doorbell rang.

"That must be Tenzo..." said Sakura. He immediately rushed to open the door excitedly. "Tenzooo!" Sakura said immediately hugging Tenzo.

"Good evening, Sakura." Tenzo said while hugging Sakura.

"Come in!" Sakura took Tenzo inside.

"Good evening, sir." Tenzo said

"Evening, Tenzo. I'll go now. I'll leave the kids with you."

"You can count on me, sir."

And Kakashi left.

An hour and a half passed.

Tenzo closed Naruto's room, after reading five story books and he fell asleep before the fifth book was finished. It looks like Sakura and Sai have also fallen asleep in their rooms.

Tenzo came downstair. When he was about to sit on the sofa, he heard the sound of Kakashi's car. Tenzo looked at the clock. "He came back so quickly?" he thought.

Kakashi opened the door.

"Welcome home, sir. Umm...I thought you would be home late. Is the party over, sir?:

"Not yet. But my business there are finished. So I'm going home."

"Oh...and how about the couple dance, sir?"

"I didn't dance there.."

"Why, sir?

"Because...How can I dance there...if my dance partner...is here?"

Tenzo looked clueless.

Kakashi took off his jacket and draped it on the sofa. Then he took out his cellphone and played Whitney Houston's song, I have nothing. Then put it on the table. The intro of the song was heard and Kakashi approached Tenzo.

"Shall we dance?" Kakashi said while extending his right hand.

Tenzo was surprised, then smiled, and accepted Kakashi's outstretched hand. And they danced.

Faintly hearing music playing, Sakura woke up, then opened her room door He saw Sai squatting near the stairs looking down.

"Sai? What are you doing?"

Sai motioned to Sakura to lower her voice, then pointed downstairs. Sakura walked over to sai and crouched down next to him, then looked down at the floor. And she was surprised...

"So beautiful..." Sakura said in awe. "Feels like it's been a long time I haven't seen dad so happy like that...". Sai smiled and nodded in agreement.

Kakashi and Tenzo continued dancing. Until when the song ends and Tenzo finishes spinning beautifully...

Right in the lyrics 'I have nothing, nothing, nothing....if I don't have youuu....' Kakashi grabbed Tenzo. His left hand wrapped around Tenzo's waist and his right hand touched tenzo's cheek. He then whispered in Tenzo's ear "I will have nothing, if I don't have you...tenzo..."

Tenzo was surprised to hear Kakashi's whisper. A second later, a warm and comfortable feeling filled his heart. "Me too, sir..." Tenzo answered softly.

Kakashi's eyes meet Tenzo. Their faces inch closer....and closer...until they can feel each other's breath...

Suddenly...

"Aww...I can't see anything!!!" Naruto's voice of protest was heard.

"Shut up! Don't make any noise!" Sakura said.

"Sakura, you not only close his eyes, but also his nose...Naruto won't be able to breathe..." Sai said flatly.

Kakashi and Tenzo both looked upstairs...

"Guys???" Kakashi said surprised.

"You haven't slept yet?" Tenzo asked, no less surprised.

Sakura, Sai, and Naruto looked downstairs..

"Umm...sorry dad...we don't want to interrupt you two..." Sakura said cautiously. "I just want to go to the bathroom..." he added.

"No, I'm the one who wants to go to the bathroom..." Sai said flatly.

"No... they obviously didn't go to the bathroom, but were squatting here watching dad and Tenzo... I was the one who wanted to go to the bathroom..." said Naruto.

Tenzo chuckled while Kakashi sighed. "Alright...alright...just go to the bathroom..." said kakashi.

"Umm...sir...I think it's time for me to go home..." said Tenzo reluctantly.

"Oh...right...I am really sorry for making you go home late. I will drive you home..."

"You don't need to, sir. You have to accompany them. I can go home by myself..." said Tenzo smiling.

"Ummm...what if Tenzo stays here tonight?" Sai suggested.

"Agree! Please sleep here tonight, tenzo!" Sakura said excitedly.

"How about we all sleep together?" Naruto suggested.

"We....all?" Kakashi asked.

"Yes!" Sakura, Sai and Naruto answered in unison.

Kakashi turned to Tenzo. Tenzo smiled while nodding. So that night the five of them slept together in Kakashi's room. Naruto slept in the middle between Sai and Sakura. Meanwhile Kakashi was next to Sai and Tenzo was next to Sakura. Thankfully the mattress was big enough to accommodate the five of them who were now fast asleep hugging each other.

If seen from above, the view looks like a family photo.

But, can they really be a family, If someone suddenly appears unexpectedly?

Tenzo, Sakura, Sai, and Naruto arrive at school. Sakura and Sai walked towards their school building. Meanwhile Tenzo took Naruto to the building next to him. Tenzo kept his promise to Naruto, after taking Naruto to class, he sat on a park bench in the school yard, waiting for Naruto.

Two hours later several parents came to pick up their children at kindergarten. The school bell rang. Kindergarten children walk out of their classrooms. Some left the classroom by running excitedly to their parents who had come to pick them up, while others left the classroom casually while chatting.

Tenzo got up from his seat, waiting for Naruto to appear. Not long after, Naruto was seen. A happy expression appeared on his face to see Tenzo kept his promise to wait for him at school. He immediately ran towards Tenzo and immediately hide behind him. Tenzo was confused as to why Naruto was hiding behind him and holding his shirt tightly.

"Orphan...orphan..." shouted a boy, followed by the laughter of two other children next to him. They mocked Naruto as they walked away.

Naruto tightened his grip on Tenzo's shirt. After the children had left, he released his grip. Tenzo turned around, then knelt in front of Naruto.

"Naruto..." said Tenzo while touching his cheek gently.

"Why... why did mom leave..." Naruto struggled to hold back tears. Tenzo hugged Naruto, he himself didn't know who and where Naruto's mother was and didn't know what to say.

After a while, tenzo said "How about I keep my promise? Treat you ice cream?" Naruto nodded in his arms. Tenzo got up, carrying Naruto, then walked to a new ice cream shop not far from there.

As soon as he entered and saw the various colors and flavors of ice cream, various toppings, and various colorful balloons that could be taken for free, Naruto immediately forgot his sadness.

"Well, you can choose the flavors and toppings you like..." said Tenzo as he put Naruto down.

Not long after, Tenzo and Naruto were sitting on the bench in the school yard. Naruto enjoyed 3 flavors of ice cream with chocochip and sprinkles toppings in his right hand, while his left hand held a red balloon. Tenzo sat next to him enjoying vanilla ice cream with walnut topping.

"Is it delicious?" Tenzo asked. Naruto nodded as he continued to lick his ice cream.

"You like it?" Tenzo asked again. Naruto nodded again while licking his ice cream enthusiastically.

"Thank goodness...." Tenzo said.

When the ice cream was finished, Naruto raised both of his hands while exclaiming "It's really goooood!"

Tenzo smiled, then asked Naruto. "Umm...naruto, can I ask you something?"

Naruto nodded his head happily.

"Those kids...are they your friends?"

The happy expression on Naruto's face immediately disappeared. He lowered his hands, lowered his head, fell silent, then nodded slowly...

"Do they always do that to you?"

Naruto nodded.

"Is that what makes you not want to go to school?"

Naruto nodded again.

"How did you feel when they did like that?"

"I....I....I don't like....I don't like them calling me that. But...I also don't like that mom is gone...why is she gone...why?" Tears started to roll down Naruto's cheeks. After closing the door, Kakashi went upstairs. When he entered Naruto's room, Kakashi was surprised because Naruto's room was very neat, not as messy as usual.

"Wow... I'm surprised your room is so neat. Was there just a storm that put everything back in its place?" Kakashi asked while sitting on the bed holding Naruto in his arms.

"I was competing to tidy up my room with Tenzo. Tenzo divided my room into two parts, I tidied up here and he tidied up over there. The loser has to treat the winner ice cream tomorrow."

"Oh... I see... Then, who's the lucky one who will get an ice cream treat tomorrow?"

"Of course I am!" Naruto answered happily. Kakashi laughed while rubbing Naruto's head.

Nothing's gonna tear us apart

After the 3rd great shinobi war ended, the five major countries agreed to maintain peace. One form of maintaining the peace is by collecting scrolls containing forbidden jutsu, then sealing them so that they cannot be misused by anyone and can cause chaos again.

One of the scrolls being targeted was Orocimaru's scroll, which contained records of his forbidden experiments. The five major countries agreed to hand over this task to Konoha village. And based on fairly reliable information, apparently Orocimaru's scrolls are stored in a village called Otagakure.

Because this mission was very important, the third hokage assigned it to the two best jonin, Hatake Kakashi and Sarutobi Asuma. Their mission is to retrieve the scrolls while avoiding conflict as much as possible, meaning they must be able to find and retrieve them secretly.

So Kakashi and Asuma departed for the village of Otagakure. When they got there, they decided to split up and observe the situation first, while looking for information and clues as to where the scrolls were kept. They also dressed like local residents so they don't attract people's attention.

Kakashi walked along one of the streets in the village while looking around. There are many small alleys between shops and houses. Suddenly from one of the alleys someone ran and hit Kakashi and fell. Even though he was a little surprised, Kakashi quickly observed it. A girl, with wide-eyed and long brown hair, she seemed younger than Kakashi.

Then there was a voice "Ooiiii...Stop kinoe!", two men ran over, apparently wanting to catch the girl. Without saying anything, the girl got up and ran again to escape pursuit. Actually, Kakashi was curious, but he decided not to get involved so as not to attract attention. He continued walking while observing the village.

That night in the forest near the village, Kakashi met Asuma. Asuma managed to get information from people who were chatting in the tavern. They were talking about a whorehouse in the village. Not only does it have beautiful women, but rumors say that the whorehouse contains valuable items such as rare objects and secret scrolls. From the tavern, Asuma decided to look directly at the whorehouse.

After confirming that Asuma had entered, Kakashi immediately moved. He had moved to the roof and was observing the whorehouse closely. Suddenly his gaze shifted.

"Hey...where else are you going kinoeee!" A man shouted calling a girl who ran through the back door of the house. Apparently it was the girl who hit him yesterday. "Why did that girl leave this house?" Kakashi thought. Actually, Kakashi was curious, but he returned his focus to the house. Apparently the house was guarded by several bodyguards. But for some reason the back door isn't there. Perhaps not many people know that the house has a back door.

In the middle of the night Kakashi met Asuma again in the forest near the village. According to Asuma, not just any woman can work there. Apart from being beautiful, they also have to have other skills such as chatting, playing musical instruments, singing, making tea, and even giving massages. Asuma chose to chat while enjoying green tea made by the woman who had greeted him. With his skills in talking to women, Asuma got information from the woman that the whorehouse was led by a middle-aged woman who was usually called Big Mom. So the next night Kakashi entered the whorehouse through the back door. There was only one guard who he had paralyzed without a sound with his sharingan. Kakashi quickly went up to the third floor. He also paralyzed two guards on guard at the end of the stairs on the third floor with his sharingan, as did two more people on guard at the door of the room.

Kakashi then entered the room. The dim light illuminated the room which was not very large. Inside there are several shelves neatly lined up filled with items that appear to be antique and of high value. In the corner of the room there is a table with a chest on it. As soon as he opened the chest, he saw several scrolls of paper inside, and when he opened it, it turned out to be true, the scrolls contained records of experiments that had been carried out by Orocimaru. Kakashi immediately took a scroll from his pocket bag, this scroll was used to store all of Orocimaru's scrolls. When Kakashi put in the last scroll, suddenly the door to the room opened. There was a fat, middle-aged woman wearing a red kimono, with neatly tied hair and thick make-up.

"Intruder!!! Who are you?! How dare you overpower my guards and come in here!" the woman shouted.

"Catch him!!!" another woman next to her shouted at the bodyguard behind them.

Kakashi immediately jumped out of the window near the chest. Two bodyguards chased him. Kakashi ran and jumped from roof to roof towards the forest.

When entering the forest, one of the guards threw a lot of suriken at Kakashi. Kakashi dodged and parried it. While Kakashi was fending off Suriken's attacks, the other guard threw many needles at him. Kakashi parried, unfortunately one needle hit his right arm. Kakashi landed on one of the tree branches, his vision blurry. Feeling something was wrong, Kakashi used a smoke bomb and immediately moved away from the two bodyguards.

After feeling safe enough from the two bodyguards who were chasing him, Kakashi landed on the ground. His arm that was hit by the needle felt very painful, his head was dizzy, his breathing began to become short, and his vision became increasingly blurry, and finally he fell. In the midst of his dwindling consciousness, he felt someone kneeling near him, he vaguely saw... the girl with brown hair and wide eyes. The girl touched Kakashi's arm. After that, Kakashi became unconscious.

When his consciousness began to return, the first voice he heard was Asuma's voice.

"Sorry to startle you. I know I was a bit impolite for appearing on the balcony, but if I had entered through the main door, I don't think I would have been allowed in..."

Kinoe was silent...Kakashi became awkward.

"Ummm...Last night you were the one who helped me, right?"

Evening came. Kinoe was moved again to another room, a room usually used for important guests. Kinoe sat alone on the bed. He was confused and afraid, what would happen, why he was suddenly put in that room. He gripped tightly the bell that Kakashi had given him.

Not long after, the bedroom door opened. Looks like Big Mom. Beside him stood a middle-aged man, fat and luxuriously dressed.

"Please come in, sir..." said Big Mom. They entered followed by the assistant. "This is kinoe who I told you about..."

The fat man's eyes looked at Kinoe from head to toe. "Really beautiful..." he said, fascinated.

"I thought, you will definitely like him..." said Big Mom, then she whispered "He's a little unruly, so you can do whatever you like with him, sir... Don't be shy" then she laughed followed by his laughter. fat man.

Kinoe's feeling is getting worse. His grip on Kakashi's bell tightened.

After Big Mom and her assistant left, the fat man and Kinoe were left in the room. The man walked closer to Kinoe. Kinoe didn't like his expression. The man then touched Kinoe's face. Kinoe backed away. As the man advanced towards Kinoe, Kinoe pushed him hard until the fat man fell.

Seeing the fat man fall, Kinoe quickly ran towards the door, but the fat man grabbed the back of his kimono and pulled him until he fell. The bell Kakashi gave him slipped from his hand. The fat man then slapped Kinoe in the face "Damn! How dare you push me! Then he slapped Kinoe several times...

At the same time in the Hokage's office, Kakashi and Asuma were giving their mission report to the Third Hokage when the bell in Kakashi's trouser pocket suddenly rang.

"Kakashi???" Kurenai asked, surprised to see Kakashi who came at night carrying someone.

"Kurenai, may I come in?"

"Sure...come in..."

Kakashi came in and put kinoe on the sofa.

"Who's she?"

"A girl from otagakure. I can't take care of her in my house. So, can you take care of her?"

"Okay, no problem..."

"Thank you... sorry I came suddenly and bothered you..."

"No problem..." Kurenai said with a smile.

"Okay, I have to go back to the Sandaime office immediately."

The next day Kakashi passed in front of a dango shop while Kurenai and Asuma were eating there. Kakashi approached the two of them.

"Hey kakashi, what a surprise that you came here, don't you not like sweet food?" Asuma said.

"I didn't come here to eat dango, but to meet Kurenai..." Kakashi answered with a smile. "How is the girl?" Kakashi asked Kurenai.

The same feeling as when on the balcony some time ago reappeared in Kinoe's heart. A smile spread across his face. And that made flowers bloom all over Konoha village. People were amazed and fascinated, including the third hokage who was walking while smoking his pipe. He stopped for a moment, felt something was different, then continued his journey again.

That night Kakashi cooked soup. Kinoe tasted it.

"Is it delicious?" Kakashi asked.

Kinoe answered with a smile and a nod, which meant the soup tasted good. Kakashi immediately became embarrassed seeing Kinoe's smile. After his last bite, kinoe put down his spoon.

"Um... sorry...." said Kinoe while looking down.

"What is it?"

"Oh... don't worry..." said Kakashi. Then he took something out of his pocket and showed it to kinoe.

"Oh.....that...." Kinoe was surprised.

"After knocking out the fat man, I picked it up on the floor..." Kakashi said with a smile.

"Thank God..." Kinoe breathed a sigh of relief.

Opposite the flower stand was a dango shop, where Kakashi's friends were gathered there enjoying dumplings: Asuma, Kurenai, Gai, Anko, Aoba, Izumo, Kotetsu, and Gemma.

"Who is that girl? I think it's the first time I've seen her..." said Gemma.

"Which girl?" Kotetsu asked.

"That's the one on the flower stand..."

Then everyone looked at the girl Gemma meant.

"Oh... that's Kakashi's friend..." said Kurenai.

"Friend?" Gai asked

"From Otagakure village..." continued Kurenai

"Very beautiful..." everyone commented, except Kurenai and Asuma

"Oooh...so that's him..." said Asuma

"Him???" Again asked everyone except Kurenai and Asuma

"Yeah...he's a boy...his name is Kinoe" explained Kurenai

"Whaaaat???!!!" Everyone was shocked except Kurenai and Asuma.

Across there, Kakashi walked over to Kinoe at the flower stand.

"Kinoe..."

Kinoe turned his head. Kakashi showed the beautiful ribbon that the seller had offered at the previous stand. In the middle there is a bell that Kakashi once gave to Kinoe. Kakashi moved behind Kinoe then tied Kinoe's long hair with the ribbon.

"It suits you very well, tenzo." Kakashi said with a smile.

"Tenzo????"

"Kinoe was your name when you were still in that house. From now on I will call you tenzo, meaning heavenly creation. Well, because each of us has one bell, that way we will be connected to each other wherever and whenever..."

Kinoe's face immediately blushed, "I...I promise this time I will take good care of this bell...thank you, Kakashi-san," she said while bowing.

All of Kakashi's friends at the dango shop were surprised and fascinated to see Kakashi and Kinoe. Their mouths were agape and their eyes didn't blink, they didn't expect and couldn't believe that Kakashi could be that romantic.

"That's sooooo romantiiiic!!!" Gai shouted until his eyes were full of tears, accompanied by explosions of fireworks whose rays lit up the sky and the sound echoed throughout Konoha and its surroundings.

People gathered on the streets to watch the beauty of the fireworks in the sky.

Unfortunately, some of the fireworks failed to fly into the sky and instead shot low and even towards the side of the crowd. Suddenly people were shocked and ran away. In the midst of the panic, a small child fell and several fireworks shot towards him. The child's mother screamed...

Kinoe spontaneously hit both his hands on the ground and suddenly from the ground where the little child fell, wood appeared around him, so that when the fireworks exploded, the child was protected. After that, Kinoe lifted both hands from the ground and the wood went back into the ground.

Everyone who witnessed this rapid incident gaped.... including Kakashi who was very, very surprised that Kinoe could do such an amazing thing... also Sandaime who watched from his office balcony and was also shocked because only the first Hokage should have mastered the wood element.

(Chapter 3)

Ting...tong!

The sound of the doorbell succeeded in waking Kakashi from his sleep, while the sound of the alarm clock beside his bed failed. Why? Because only Tenzo rings the doorbell this early, and that means.... it's 7 o'clock!!!!

"7 o'clock?! Oh nooooo...I'm late..." Kakashi covered his face with both hands.

He then forced himself to get up and immediately went downstairs to open the door.

"Morning, sir!" Tenzo's greeting was cheerful and enthusiastic as usual.

"Morning, Tenzo...please...come in...and...do your work..." Kakashi was still trying to gather his consciousness. "I'm already late...so...just start to do your work..." kakashi turned around and rushed upstairs to get ready.

Tenzo blinked for a moment to digest the situation. Usually when he arrived, Kakashi was already dressed neatly and ready to go to the office, but now he was still wearing his pajamas.

"No problem, sir..." said Tenzo as he entered and closed the front door, then walked towards the kitchen.

This is all because last night Kakashi had to work overtime preparing materials for today's meeting. Today there will be a big meeting of all divisions to discuss government building renovation projects. Konoha Corp will compete with several other development companies to win the tender for who will renovate the building. This project will bring big profits to the company that wins the tender, so Konoha Corp doesn't want to fail.

Kakashi showered and got dressed as quickly as he could. Then put the laptop and all the required documents into the bag, and ran down the stairs. When he open the front door...

"Excuse me, sir..." said Tenzo.

Kakashi turned his head "yes?"

"I made this for you, just in case you didn't have time for breakfast, sir.." Tenzo held out both hands. His right hand holds a bento box and his left hand holds a thermos filled with hot coffee.

"Oh... thank you... I appreciate that, but actually you don't have to..." Kakashi was surprised.

"No problem, sir... I also make the same bento for the kids..." Tenzo smiled. "Umm...I'm sorry sir, but I think your tie needs to be straightened..."

"Oh?" Kakashi tried to look at his tie which turned out to be crooked, probably because he had been in a hurry, but his hands were full.

"May I, sir?" Tenzo asked, offering to help.

"Oh...yes please..." answered Kakashi.

Tenzo then came closer and straightened Kakashi's tie and shirt collar.

"Well, it's better now, sir. And good luck for today!" Tenzo clenched his right fist while smiling.

"Oh...thank you... Well...I have to go now...so...see you..." kakashi opened the door, got out, and closed it. He took a breath and exhaled. A feeling of comfort emerged in his heart. He then walked towards his car feeling much calmer, doesn't know where the feeling of panic and rush gone.

45 minutes later Tenzo, Sakura, Sai and Naruto were already on the front terrace.

"Hurry uuuuup Narutooooo!!! We're all going to be late just because you took too long to tie your shoes!!!" Sakura said while smacking Naruto's head.

"...I'm trying..."

"It's okay Sakura, we still have time. You can do it, Naruto!" Tenzo said.

Five minutes later Naruto finished tying his shoes and they all rushed to school. As soon as the car driven by Tenzo arrived at the school parking lot, Sakura immediately got out and ran to her class, as did Sai.

"Wait Sai! You left your sketchbook..." Tenzo got out of the car and handed the sketchbook to Sai. "Have a nice day, sai!" Tenzo said with a smile. Sai just accepted his sketchbook then turned towards class without saying anything and without expression.

After that, Tenzo returned to the car and helped Naruto unfasten his seat belt.

"Naruto..."

"Hmm?"

"Before you get out of the car, I want to play with you for a while..." said Tenzo.

"Play???" Naruto was surprised.

"Yes. A role play."

"A role play???" Naruto looked confused.

"Listen, when next time your friends make fun of you again, say this sentence that I will teach you. If they call you an 'orphan', just tell them 'No problem. I'm okay with that' and give them your best smile, then leave them. You got that?"

"Okay! See you, tenzooo!" Naruto ran towards his class feeling happy and full of enthusiasm.

Tenzo looked at Naruto with a smile, then got into the car. He deliberately didn't wait on the bench in the yard like yesterday to teach Naruto to be brave.

Meanwhile...

Kakashi arrived in his room. He put down the documents, bag, as well as the bento box and thermos from Tenzo. He sat down and looked at his watch. There are still 10 minutes before the meeting starts. Kakashi decided to open the thermos. As soon as it was opened, the fragrant aroma of coffee immediately came out and blended with the air around Kakashi. Kakashi poured the coffee into the thermos lid and took a sip.

"Really delicious..." Kakashi thought as he closed his eyes, enjoying his coffee. The coffee that Tenzo makes is definitely the same sachet coffee that Kakashi makes every day. But why does this one taste so much better? Kakashi wondered to himself. He felt much fresher now.

To be honest, he felt a bit awkward when Tenzo approached him and fixed his tie. But...it feels like there is another feeling too. He felt....happy, but also strange... because it felt like it had been a long time since he felt like that... He himself didn't know why that feeling came up again...

Kakashi then finished the coffee he had poured them losed the thermos of coffee again. Now his attention was focused on the bento box. Actually, Kakashi was curious to open it, but the meeting would start soon. He had to immediately go to the meeting room. So he decided to open and eat his bento during his lunch break. He took the laptop and the required documents. Then walk out of the room in a good mood and full of enthusiasm.

Two hours later...

Naruto's school bell rang. A sign that it's time for Naruto and his friends to go home. As usual, other parents had also arrived at the yard to pick up their children. And as usual, Naruto's friends made fun of him....again.

"See you tomorrow, poor orphan...hahahaha..." exclaimed one of them, which was followed by laughter from the others. Naruto stopped walking. His hands gripped tightly. He took a deep breath, then exhaled, and turned around to face the friends who had mocked him earlier.

"No problem. I am okay with being an orphan. See you tomorrow!" Naruto said while smiling and turning around and walking again cheerfully. His friends stared. They didn't expect Naruto would say that.

Tenzo waited next the car. Naruto saw him then ran and immediately hugged Tenzo. Tenzo hugged Naruto and spun him around, until Naruto laughed.

After he was satisfied spinning and laughing, Tenzo put Naruto down.

"How about we go to the ice cream shop now? I still owe you because I lost the room tidying competition yesterday..." asked Tenzo.

"Let's goooooo!!!!" replied Naruto

Back to Konoha Corp headquarter.

The meeting was temporarily stopped because it was already lunch time. Meeting participants leave the room to take a break. Including Kakashi. He walked towards the elevator to return to his room. Suddenly someone took his right arm...

"Kakashi, how about we have lunch together?"

"Oh... Anko..." Kakashi was surprised. "I am sorry, but I will have lunch in my room, because I brought a bento..." said Kakashi.

"Be...bento? Since when do you bring bento to the office???"

Kakashi just smiled and got into the elevator.

"Kakashi and bento??? That's a strangest thing I saw today..." said gai next to him.

"What's wrong? Am I not allowed to eat bento?" Kakashi asked.

"Of course no..." Gai said as he walked in. "But the last time I saw you and bento was when we were still in the same class in Kindergaten..." he said, laughing.

"Yeah...me too. We three were in the same class, right?" Add genma. "Hey...look at the rice...very cute heart rice...I don't know that you are so cute, kakashi..."

"I didn't make it. The nanny did..." Kakashi said casually.

"Wait...what? The new nanny made that bento for you???" Gai asked. Kakashi nodded.

Kakashi was just about to respond to his two mischievous friends when suddenly another voice came from the door.

Anko sat opposite Kakashi. "You two? What are you doing here?" Anko asked Genma and Gai.

"Oh...um...we're going to have lunch too..." Genma answered, elbowing Gai.

"Eh...yeah, that's right...so we'll go first..." Gai answered as he left the room with Genma.

"I think those two always act strangely. Isn't that right?" Anko asked.

Kakashi just chuckled as he started eating his bento. He picked up the tamago with chopsticks and put it in his mouth, then chewed it. Delicious... thought Kakashi. Then he tried the chicken katsu. This is also delicious....very delicious....he thought.

"....Kakashi!" Called Anko in a slightly loud tone.

Kakashi realized "Oh...what's wrong?"

"You didn't listen to me, did you?"

"Oh... sorry Anko... just... what did you say?"

"Because I heard you brought a bento, I wanted to have a bento lunch too. So I bought it at the minimarket near the office. It tastes pretty good..." said Anko while chewing her ebi katsu. "Where did you buy that bento?"

"You cook yourself????"

"Of course not... This morning my children's nanny made this bento and gave it to me, because this morning I didn't have time for breakfast..."

"You noisy big forehead! Acting like a hero! How dare you push me!" Kabuto raised his right hand to slap Sakura. Suddenly a hand grabbed Kabuto's right hand, very strong. Kabuto turned his head.

"Years of studying at an expensive school just for this? How embarrassing..." said Tenzo.

"Who are you? Let go of my hand! Don't interfere!" Kabuto shouted annoyed.

"You don't need to know who I am. What you and your two friends need to know is that what you did to Sai and Sakura was a bad thing. So now, quickly kneel down and apologize to Sai and Sakura, return Sai's sketchbook, and promise them that you guys won't do it again. Kabuto got up, then took Sai's sketchbook, and gave it to Sai.

"Good job. By the way, I have recorded your behavior earlier, so if you repeat your actions again, then I will give the recording to the principal or spread it to social media. And you will become famous and expelled from school. Do I make myself clear?" Tenzo said casually.

Kabuto and his two friends nodded in resignation.

"Good. Sakura, sai, let's go home. Naruto is waiting for us in the car." said Tenzo smiling. Meanwhile Sakura and Sai were still gawking, not believing that Tenzo could easily paralyze Kabuto and his friends.

When they got home, Tenzo compressed Sai's arm which was bruised from the grip of Kabuto's friends.

"Does it still hurt?" Tenzo asked. Sai shook his head.

"Okay. Wait here a second. I'll make you something..." Tenzo stood up and walked out of Sai's room. Not long after, Tenzo came carrying a mug.

"I make a hot chocolate. It will make you so much better. Try it." Tenzo said while thrusting the mug towards Sai. Sai accepted it and hesitantly drank it.

"How is it? Good?" Tenzo asked.

Sai nodded. "Thanks..." he said.

Tenzo smiled.

"I mean...thanks a lot...for...saving me...and sakura..."

"No problem..." answered Tenzo. "So, may I know, since when do you like drawing, Sai? Tenzo asked while looking at Sai's drawings that were stuck on the wall of his room.

"Since I could hold a pencil..." Sai answered.

"Really? Amazing! I've always been the weakest in drawing lessons. In fact, every time I see my drawings, my sister always says, 'Even kindergarten kids can draw better than you, Tenzo.'" said Tenzo, shaking his head and putting his hands on his hips, imitating his sister's style.

Sai laughed looking at Tenzo. Meanwhile, Tenzo just stared.

Tenzo put the ribbon on Sakura's head so it looked like a headband, then smoothed Sakura's bangs. "Well, that is the beautiful young lady..." said Tenzo as he moved to sit next to Sakura and pointed at the mirror in front of them.

Sakura looked at herself in the mirror. She has always covered her forehead with bangs. But the ribbon that Tenzo tied and the bangs that Tenzo tidied made Sakura look more beautiful.

"You don't have to hide that, sakura. No matter what they say, you are definitely beautiful. Because beauty doesn't come from physics. It comes from your heart. Physics will easily change. But your kind and brave heart will last forever, and that is the true beauty..." said Tenzo.

He saw Sakura and Sai's room door open, but they were not in their room. Kakashi then went to Naruto's room where the door was half closed. He opened the door slowly and was surprised...

Tenzo sat leaning back in the middle of the bed, holding and hugging Naruto who was already asleep, while Sakura fell asleep on Tenzo's right side with her head resting on his shoulder, as did Sai on his left. The five story books that Tenzo had read were lying on the bed. Kakashi was truly surprised to see it, and touched at the same time. His kids had never been so close to nannies before.

Tenzo, who was half asleep, realized that someone had entered the room, and was surprised because it turned out to be Kakashi. Spontaneously he opened his eyes wide. Kakashi moved closer to the bed.

"It's okay. I will remove them..." said Kakashi. He then carried Sakura and moved her to her bed. Then carried Sai and moved him to his bed. Then turned on the light in their room and closed the door. When he returned to Naruto's room, he saw Tenzo laying Naruto on his bed and covering him with a blanket. Kakashi approached and turned off the lamp next to Naruto's bed. The two of them then left the room and went downstairs.

"Can I go home now, sir?"

"Sure you may. But I will take you home..."

"Oh...you don't need to do that, sir. I can go home by myself..."

"No, it's okay. I'll take you. This is also an apology for making you come home so late and a thank you for taking care of my kids... Please, let me drive you home..." said Kakashi.

"Alright then, sir..." answered Tenzo with a smile.

Half an hour later, Kakashi's car arrived in front of a coffee shop called Senju Cafe.

"You live here?" Kakashi asked.

"Yes sir. This is my aunt's cafe. I live here and I also work here on Saturdays and Sundays, when I'm not working at your house, sir..."

"Oh...I see. Umm...may I come here someday...taste the coffee here?"

"Of course you may, sir."

"Great! I will come."

"Thanks sir. I think I'm going to go inside, sir. Thank you so much for driving me home..." said Tenzo while nodding.

"No problem. I should be the one thanking you..."

"See you tomorrow, sir..." Tenzo got out of the car, closed the door, then bowed towards Kakashi. Kakashi nodded and started the car. From the rearview mirror, he could still see Tenzo standing there until the car turned.

While driving his car home, Kakashi thought. Even though at first he doubted Tenzo's abilities, now he feels that Tenzo's presence in his family brings many good things and warmth.

So far, the three children have never gotten along with the nannys. But tenzo is different. In a short time his three children became very close to him. The scene where Tenzo fell asleep while hugging Naruto, and Sakura and Sai who slept leaning against him was truly very impressive and touched Kakashi's heart.

Moreover, Tenzo is good at cooking, reliable, humble, and always cheerful. And honestly, he is quite pretty. His wide eyes, his beautiful brunet long hair, his smile, his smell, his voice,...

Wait...wait...it seems like another feeling emerged in Kakashi's heart. A feeling he hadn't felt in a long time. A feeling he had buried deep since Rin left. Could it be that what Genma said was true, that love is in the air now?

I have nothing if I don't have you

(Chapter 1)

This morning is just like any other previous mornings.

Kakashi poured hot water into a cup containing instant coffee, then stirred it with a spoon in his right hand, while his left hand was busy fiddling with his smartphone.

A few minutes later there was a "cling" sound from the toaster, indicating that the two toasts were ready to be eaten. Kakashi immediately took it and placed it on a plate, along with two other breads that had been toasted earlier. In total there were 4 loaves of bread, one for him and three more for his three children who were still sleeping in their rooms.

With his left hand still busy playing with his smartphone, his right hand opened the refrigerator door and took a bottle of milk, placed it on the table, opened the lid and poured the contents into three glass glasses, then returned them back to the refrigerator.

Kakashi then sat in a chair, sipping his coffee while checking his social media, skimming the news, then checking his schedule for today. There is nothing different from other days, except maybe the first schedule this morning before leaving to take the children and go to the office, that is meeting the new prospective nanny.

Since Rin just left two years ago, Kakashi has had difficulty handling everything, so he decided to hire a nanny to take care of his three children, at least this could reduce his burden besides having to work to earn money. However, finding a nanny was not as easy as he thought. He had received five people, but none of them lasted long. There were those who took the initiative to resign because they couldn't bear to look after their three children, there were those that Kakashi quit because he couldn't look after them well.

And this morning he planned to meet the sixth prospective nanny. Judging from the personal data sent to Kakashi's email, his name is Tenzo. He is three years younger than him. Actually, Kakashi was surprised, because Tenzo was male. This is the first time a male has applied to be a nanny. Kakashi also doubts whether Tenzo can be a nanny. But in his application, Tenzo stated that he had been used to taking care of his 3 nephews since they were babies. Besides that, Kakashi himself really needed a nanny. So he replied to Tenzo's email by asking him to come this morning at 6.30.

Suddenly the doorbell rang. Kakashi was a little surprised. He then looked at the clock. 6.30 sharp. It must be Tenzo, apparently he is very punctual, thought Kakashi. He put down his smartphone and coffee cup, then headed for the front door.

Kakashi opened the door and was shocked.

"Umm...Can I help you?" He asked the figure standing in front of him. A girl with wide eyes, long brunet hair that fell past her shoulders, wearing a soft purple cat t-shirt and jeans, and a sling bag.

"Good morning, sir! I'm Tenzo, who sent you an email yesterday and intends to apply to be a nanny." Tenzo answered in an enthusiastic tone while bowing.

For a few moments Kakashi was silent, trying to digest his guest's words.

"Umm...sorry...I thought you are a male...."

"I am sir..." answered Tenzo with a smile. This is the first time Kakashi saw a man who was very beautiful and really looked like a real woman. "Umm...is there a problem, sir?" Tenzo asked.

"Oh...no...no problem. I'm kakashi. Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Kakashi," said Tenzo as he bowed again.

"Please come in..." said Kakashi.

Tenzo enters. Kakashi closed the door then walked towards the sofa. "Please sit down..." he said as he sat down. Tenzo sat across from Kakashi.

"I have read your biodata. And I accept you to work as a nanny here. Your main task is to look after my three children. Starting from preparing breakfast, lunch, taking them to school, picking them up, accompanying them to study, and making dinner for them. Your working hours start from 7 am when I go to the office until 7 pm after I go home. You work from Monday to Friday. And I have mentioned the salary I am offering in the reply email I sent you yesterday. Do you have any questions?"

"About food, is there anything your children shouldn't eat, sir?"

"Good question. Nothing."

"Yes sir, I understand."

Kriiiiiiiing....there was an alarm sound from upstairs.

"That's the alarm from my children's room. I'll ask them to come down and get to know you. Please wait here..." Kakashi got up from the sofa and walked up the stairs to the 2nd floor.

Tenzo sighed. Even though he was used to taking care of his older sister's three children, this was the first time he would take care of other people's children.

Not long after, the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs was heard. Tenzo took a deep breath and exhaled again to calm himself, then hurriedly got up from the sofa.

Kakashi was the first to come down while carrying a boy with yellow hair, behind him a girl with shoulder length pink hair who was still rubbing her eyes and yawning, then behind her was a boy with black hair and pale skin.

"Okay kids. This is Tenzo who will help dad look after you. Now introduce yourselves, please.."

"So... this flat breasted aunt will be the new nanny..." Sakura said without hesitation while yawning again.

Tenzo was shocked, as was Kakashi, and the atmosphere became awkward for a moment.

"Sakura! Watch your words!" Kakashi scolded.

"I said the truth, right?" Sakura said, she didn't accept it.

"You really are an honest girl, Sakura." Tenzo said with a smile.

"Umm...please forgive her..." said kakashi feeling bad..

"It's okay. Sakura is right. I'm flat breasted. That's because I'm a male. So you don't need to call me auntie. Just call me Tenzo. Okay?" Tenzo said with a smile.

"Wow...you are the first beautiful male I've ever seen in my life..." said sakura.

Kakashi cleared his throat. "This is my second child. Come on, introduce yourself..." said Kakashi while holding Sai's head.

"I'm Sai." The pale boy's answer was short and expressionless.

"Hello Sai. Nice to meet you..." said Tenzo with a smile.

"I don't." Sai said flatly.

"Sai!" Kakashi scolded.

"It's okay. You're also very honest, sai." Tenzo said. "How old are you, Sai?" Tenzo asked kindly.

"Ten." Answer briefly.

"Dad...I'm still sleepy..." said the boy in Kakashi's arms while rubbing his eyes and yawning.

"And this is my third child. His name is Naruto. Well, Naruto, say hello, please.." Kakashi said while stroking Naruto's hair.

"I don't want to. I want to sleep again..." Naruto answered.

"Hey champ! Nice to meet you. How old are you?" Tenzo said.

"I don't know..." Naruto answered casually while burying his head in Kakashi's shoulder.

"Naruto..." said Kakashi. "He's 6 years old..." said Kakashi to which Tenzo answered with a smile.

"Okay. Let's get ready for school..." answered Kakashi.

"I don't want to go to school...don't want to...don't want to..." said Naruto whining.

"No way. You have to go to school. OK Tenzo, I think that's enough introduction. You can start working tomorrow."

"Yes sir! You can count on me." Tenzo answered with an enthusiastic smile.

Well...that was their first meeting. Kakashi's (and his three children's) first meeting with Tenzo. Also tenzo's first meeting with them....as a nanny.

We never know which direction fate will take our lives.

Even though they initially met as strangers, who knows, maybe later they would become close...even very very close...as close as a sweet couple or as close as a family...a warm family.

But as the universe dictates, sweet-close-warm relationships will not just form easily without challenges and tests. Right?

Sometime after the release of the Infinite Tsukuyomi, Kakashi visits. 

It is no surprise. Naruto had sought out his former captain’s tent this morning, with Sai on his heels. Sakura had been quick to follow, though her visit had been briefer, given the amount of injured and ailing in her care. It was only a matter of time before word would reach Kakashi, and Kakashi would reach him. 

And Kakashi has done so, quietly slipping into Tenzō’s tent as he lays in rest. Tenzo hasn’t looked at him, or even lifted his heavy eyelids, but if there is a person he could recognize by footstep and sigh alone, it would be Kakashi.

“Chakra exhaustion?” Kakashi asks, perhaps to himself. 

“Almost. I’m still regenerating, slowly.” Tenzō replies.

He opens his eyes, and Kakashi is different. 

To start with, he has two black eyes. The sharingan is conspicuously absent, a symmetry which feels strange to Tenzō, but he imagines, must be stranger still for Kakashi. Naruto had said something about that. It hadn’t made sense at the time. It still doesn’t make sense now. His flak jacket is in tatters, but there are no visible bandages aside from his leg wrappings. It is difficult to decipher anything from looking at his face, aside from the fact he likely hasn’t slept in several days. 

“Are you injured?” Kakashi asks him, pragmatically. 

It is one of the more straightforward questions Kakashi could have asked him. Tenzō thinks about it. His body aches all over, but it is difficult to point to a specific cause. 

“Whatever it is that two days of forcible tenketsu activation does to you. My heart is also being monitored for the effects of Kabuto’s poison. And there’s been damage to the bones of the left inner ear. Partial loss of hearing. Hozuki’s jutsu, I’m told.” 

“Anything permanent?”

“Shizune won’t say so,” Tenzō admits, disconcerted. “But the other medics suggest low rates of full recovery. Medical ninjutsu for the eyes and ears doesn’t tend to be so precise. Even for me.”

Kakashi would know better than most, he supposes, how medical ninjutsu cannot bring back something that has been shattered or severed. He looks back at the other man’s face. For his part, Kakashi nods and then inclines his head towards Tenzō. Tenzō presses one sore leg against another to allow his companion to sit on the edge of his bedding.

Kakashi’s movements are unusually slow, and it prompts Tenzō to ask, “And your injuries?”

“Lacerations to the chest and left knee. A puncture wound to the abdomen. More than a few cuts, bruises and burns. But nothing I haven’t dealt with before.” Kakashi shrugs. “Naruto and Sasuke are much more banged up than I am.” 

It is somewhat of an understatement, considering Naruto was sporting one less arm this morning than the last time Tenzō had seen him, but Tenzō supposes they should be grateful that that was all they lost. Besides... “Naruto told me that Sasuke is back.” 

“Sasuke’s back,” Kakashi agrees warmly. For the first time since he’s arrived, Tenzō sees his cheeks lift in a relieved smile. “A little worse for the wear. He doesn’t heal as quickly as Naruto, so he’s under Sakura’s care now.”

Tenzō tries to smile back at him, but the muscles in his own face feel sluggish and uncontrolled. He settles for nudging his friend with his closest knee with the hope his meaning is conveyed. 

In lieu of a response, Kakashi reaches out and offers him a clumsy pat on the ankle. It is familiar, and for that reason, it is unbearably heavy. It feels like a house has been dropped on his chest. 

“Kakashi,” Tenzō says finally. “What happened?”

Contrary to the sigh that he responds with, Kakashi leans back to lay down on top of Tenzō’s blanket beside him. “Naruto told you, didn’t he?”

“He did.” Tenzō concedes. He isn't owed anything more than the information he's already been given. Even less, perhaps. “But I...” He trails off, uncertain but wanting. 

“It’s a long story,” is Kakashi’s eventual reply. 

“Well, as you can see, I’m in a hurry,” Tenzō deadpans, lifting one hand tiredly.

The laugh that comes in reply is one that Tenzō can feel, as it pushes Kakashi’s shoulder against his own and causes Kakashi’s hair, wild as ever and lacking hitai-ate, to prod his cheek. “Okay,” the other man says, closing his eyes as if to brace himself. When they open again, his gaze is somewhere distant. “I guess I should start with Obito.”

“Madara,” Tenzō says, both a question and a prompt. This much, he’s managed to piece together, as convoluted as each war story he’s heard has been. 

It’s unclear whether Kakashi’s responding hm is in agreement or protest. “You know how I got the sharingan.”

He does. It is not something Kakashi has chosen to speak of often, but Tenzō knows from both village intel and Kakashi’s own rare, grave words about it, how it’d come into his possession. “Kannabi Bridge. Your teammate, Uchiha Obito.” 

Kakashi nods, and this too, Tenzō feels. In his periphery, he sees Kakashi raise a hand to his own face and then let it fall. “Obito gave me a lot of things that day. My nindō. More time with Rin. My life, and his eye.” 

Tenzō tries to turn his head minutely, close as they are, to look at Kakashi. His scar remains on his face, unchanged. “I’ll get to that part later,” Kakashi adds wryly. 

“Sorry,” Tenzō says, settling himself back. He interlocks his fingers, resting them on his stomach. “I’ll listen.” 

“You know that each sharingan can develop its own ability. Itachi’s Tsukuyomi. Shisui’s Kotoamatsukami. My Kamui.” 

At the first name, Tenzō bites down the urge to ask more questions. He wonders if this is how Naruto felt during their rasenshuriken training. But he nods, and Kakashi continues. “Before reinforcements arrived, there were only a few of us on the battlefield. Myself, Gai, Naruto and Bee. Kyūbi and Hachibi. Tobi, and the bijū under his control through the Gedō Statue.” 

With all that he knows Team 7 has faced in the past few days, this should hardly surprise Tenzō, but the image of Kakashi and Gai being underfoot even one bijū makes his blood run cold, let alone several. Unlike himself, Bee, or Naruto, they have no monstrous form of power to protect them. He feels a wave of nausea roll over him, and holds his fingers more tightly together. “You make it sound much simpler than it is,” Tenzō tells him. 

“That battle feels simpler than anything else I’ve seen recently,” Kakashi replies wearily. Tenzō feels a shaky inhale at his side. Kakashi’s voice is much quieter in his next words. “Tobi... Obito... we learned while fighting that my Kamui and his technique were the same. Two halves. The Infinite Tsukuyomi was the first Madara’s device, and Obito was the fuse.”

“I’m sorry,” Tenzō says again. 

“Me too,” says Kakashi. “For many things up until now. Obito, Rin, Itachi, Gai, you... There are a lot of things I wish I could’ve done differently.” 

They are looking at each other again, and Tenzō wonders what Kakashi sees in his face. “That isn’t your responsibility,” he says, more sharply than he intends. 

Kakashi raises a brow at him. Not unkindly, he replies, “Yours either.”

The words verge on something too close for comfort. Tenzō swallows around a suddenly tight throat. He unclasps his hands, flexing his fingers and retracting into a fist, once, twice, three times, repeating, feeling ten years old again all at once. It takes him a moment to catch his breath. “Naruto said... Obito helped you, in the end?”

Kakashi’s hand finds one of his, stilling it. He brings two of Tenzō’s fingers to his other wrist, letting Tenzō feel his steady pulse. It is slower than Tenzō’s counting, and his friend waits. When several moments of respite have passed, Kakashi tells him, “Obito helped us. We couldn’t have defeated Kaguya or undone the Infinite Tsukuyomi without him. We parted as friends.”

“I’d ask how, but I have a feeling I know.” Tenzō manages a smile this time. “Naruto has a way of getting people to see things through his eyes.”

Kakashi chuckles. “Better than anyone I know. He got through to Obito, and to Sasuke. He might’ve even eventually found a way to reach Madara, too, in time. He’s going to make quite the Hokage,” he adds. 

“Seventh, I hear,” Tenzō says slyly, tapping his fingers against his companion’s wrist.

To his amusement, Kakashi’s ears go red, his pulse picking up. “Ah, well...” And then, something in his face softens, and both eyes crease in a smile. “Yes.”

Yet again, Tenzō feels like he is walking the halls of a well-frequented haunt, only to find that the inside is not quite recognizable. But Kakashi’s expression is warm and sincere, and he grasps tightly onto the familiarity of that. “That’s what you get for saving the world,” he replies, as lightly as he is able. 

Kakashi shakes his head. “I don’t think I had much to do with that. They’d have found a way, with or without me.”

This terrain is more habitual, and Tenzō regains some of his footing. Eyeing his bedfellow doubtfully, he asks, “Is that so, Kakashi of the Susano’o?” 

At that, Kakashi flinches, letting out a startled laugh. He finally drops their gathered hands, but they land between their two bodies, so Tenzō can still feel the clamminess of Kakashi’s knuckles. “Where did you hear that?” 

“Naruto and Sakura seem to have taken it upon themselves to rehabilitate the reputation of every Uchiha who helped them out. They had a lot to say about your eyes.” Tenzō explains. With a furrowed brow, he adds, “Though I couldn’t really follow all of their stories.”

Kakashi sighs. “You’re not alone in that. No one else was awake for Kaguya’s return, so we’ve had a lot of explaining to do.”

Tenzō tries to picture it. “I imagine some of that must’ve been a tough sell.”

It paints a vaguely amusing mental image to picture Kakashi and his students trying to draw out diagrams of rabbit goddesses and alternate dimensions like a jōnin sensei might do while explaining chakra theory to their genin team. Tenzō visualizes the battlefield as a classroom, and imagines the Kage raising their hands to ask questions. 

“You’d be surprised what people are willing to accept if you release them from an endless genjutsu,” Kakashi says, interrupting his thoughts. 

Ah. Tsukuyomi. This is the one part of the war where his recollections are his own. 

Tenzō wonders if anyone else’s deepest desires were as mortifyingly mundane as his. So close within their reach. So contrary to what they have been able to achieve. His fist closes again, and this time it is Kakashi’s fingers that reach for his hand, pressing down. Calloused, warm, and unlike any that have been touching him lately. Not measuring, but grounding. 

“Do you remember much?” Kakashi asks. His tone is gentle, not unlike what he's used in particularly difficult missions, when they have faced an enemy he has no desire to fight.

It is only by merit of the polysemous nature of Kakashi’s question that Tenzō is able to answer. “Nothing that I can say now,” he says simply; beseechingly. 

In the pause that follows, he risks a look at Kakashi. His expression has an air of compassion that feels misplaced, but luckily, all the other man does is nod. Tenzō closes his eyes again. 

Kakashi’s breathing is so even beside him that Tenzō wonders if he might have fallen asleep. His own fatigue has started to catch up with him, weighing down his eyelids again and keeping them from reopening. Even the questions that remain in mind feel more and more distant, as if carried away by water. It is in this half-conscious state that Tenzō hears, “When you have something to say, I’ll listen.”

Tenzō remains silent, but he grips Kakashi's hand in turn as he drifts off.

Team 7 headcanon as going out to Ichiraku Ramen for coming home after long missions away like months. Also Kakashi totally dog piled with exhausted Team Ro on more than one occasion. I’ll think of more but I hope you feel better dude 🙏🏻💕

“Kakashi,” Teuchi asks slowly, setting a bowl of ramen in front of him. “Did you get a new haircut?”

Kakashi thinks about it for a moment. “No,” he says, certain that his last haircut was at least six weeks ago. As Teuchi continues to look him over, he adds, “I did get a new eye.”

“That must be it!” Teuchi declares, slapping a hand down on the counter. “I knew something looked different.”

“Did you get a haircut, Teuchi-san?” Kakashi asks back, politely.

Teuchi nods, removing his hat with a beaming smile. His short brown hair is cropped even more closely to his head. “Yes, thank you for noticing.”

Kakashi smiles at the man as he reaches for his chopsticks. Just as he is about to dig in, he feels something, someone, barreling towards the Ichiraku stand. If the chakra hadn't been a give-away, his nose would've been enough for an answer.

“Hey Kakashi-sensei, buy me a bowl of ramen,” pipes up a suspiciously Naruto-like voice from behind him.

“I thought you were supposed to be at physical therapy, Naruto,” Kakashi remarks, only half an admonition. He orders the ramen away. 

Teuchi grins at Naruto and goes to grab more sliced pork. 

“Sasuke skipped, so I got bored,” Naruto complains, shrugging. 

Kakashi doesn’t miss that Naruto’s right shoulder is slower in the motion than his left. He narrows his eyes, pointing his chopsticks at Naruto. “I wonder what Sakura would say...” he muses, letting the threat speak for itself.

Naruto only has time to open his mouth for the beginnings of a plea before the space in the ramen shop swirls and twists, and Sakura and Sasuke manifest out of the emptiness. “There you are!” Sakura says, barging towards Naruto.  

Kakashi frowns. He hadn’t sensed that coming at all. There is something distinctly off-putting about his students being able to sneak up on him. “Sasuke. Should I ask why you’re not at the hospital today either?” Kakashi asks, by way of greeting. 

“I’m not looking to replace my arm, so I don’t see the point,” Sasuke replies, taking a seat on Kakashi’s other side. “I won’t gain anything more than I would from training on my own."

Kakashi sighs. “You don’t think it’d be helpful to keep seeing a medic?” 

Sasuke looks at Sakura, as if that itself is an answer, and then shrugs. Sakura lets go of the grip she has on Naruto’s ear and looks back at Sasuke with a frown. “I’m coming with you both tomorrow,” Sakura declares, in a tone that leaves no room for arguments. She sits down beside Naruto, closing her eyes and rubbing soothing circles on her own temple. 

“You two should go easy on Sakura,” Kakashi tells them, lowly. “She has more things to worry about as a medic than chasing after her teammates.”

Sakura cracks one eye open at her teacher. “Don’t think I don’t know you haven’t been using your eyedrops at night, Kakashi-sensei. Just because Naruto made your new eye, doesn’t mean you’re exempt from transplant aftercare.”

Rubbing a hand at the back of his head sheepishly, Kakashi chuckles at being caught-out. The drops make his vision blurry, and Tsunade has been inundating him with reading to “encourage” his participation in the Hokage’s office. However... “How would you know that, Sakura-chan?”

He doesn’t have to wait long for an answer, because two more familiar people duck under the noren, one of whom Kakashi can squarely lay blame on for his predicament. “You told on me, Tenzō?” Kakashi asks him, aghast. 

“I didn’t tell, she guessed,” Tenzō replies, as he drops into the seat next to Sasuke. “If you don’t want to get yelled at, take your meds.”

Sai, their last member, sits beside Sakura and says, for the benefit of the rest of their team, “Sakura is very skillful at issuing medical advice.”

“Thank you, Sai.”

“You’re welcome, Ug—” Sai manages to say, before Naruto leaps across the counter to shove a napkin in his mouth. 

Satisfied that the danger brewing at the other end of the counter has been handled, Kakashi turns back with a half-hearted effort to kick Tenzō in the ankle, but with Sasuke between them, it only just grazes his leg. Sasuke stands. “If you’re going to play footsie, I’m switching seats.” 

“We’re adult shinobi, we don’t play footsie,” Tenzō says, which is most decidedly a lie. He swaps with Sasuke regardless. 

Teuchi emerges from the back of the stand, saying, “It took a while, but I finally found the pork! Oh, looks like we have a full house today.”

“Kakashi-senpai is treating our whole team to ramen,” says Tenzō, clapping a hand on his companion’s shoulder. In his periphery, Kakashi can tell that he is smiling. 

In protest, Kakashi mutters to Tenzō, “We’re not having any more sleepovers.” 

Tenzō has the audacity to laugh at him. “Enjoy your three-day monkhood,” he whispers back, not sounding the least bit sorry. 

“I’ll go down the line and take your orders then,” Teuchi says cheerfully. “Long time, no see, Sasuke! Say, did you get a haircut?”

Sasuke blinks at him. “I got a rinnegan.”

“You shinobi really know how to change up your look, huh?” says Teuchi, with a bellowing laugh. “Now, what’ll it be?”

All of team 7 going on a vacation. Or Kakashi and Tenzo having a special getaway together. Any of them tending to a garden together or building a home together. Kakashi and Tenzo babysitting their grandbabies. Dogs for everyone in team 7, and MORE dogs for Kakashi (and Tenzo bc they're married). Relaxation and happy vibes. Lots of warmth, love, and laughter.

These are many good thoughts, thank you. <3 <3 <3 I don't have anything directly related to these vibes to offer, but I will share an excerpt from my drafts. It’s one of my favourite silly exchanges I’ve written, but I’ve never found a reason to include in a story. Maybe fits the ‘building a home together’ sentiment?

Kakashi eyes him, and immediately Tenzō’s expression turns to exasperation. Toothbrush still in his mouth, Tenzō says, “Seriously?”

Kakashi continues to look at him, and Tenzō eventually lets out a muffled grumble as he removes the toothbrush. He stands there, lips pursed, and waits.

With a chuckle, Kakashi asks, “You’re not going to rinse out your mouth?”

In response, Tenzō only narrows his eyes.

Grinning, Kakashi tells him, “You know, that’s a little foul. I’m proud of you. This is a moment of personal growth.”

Tenzō rolls his eyes, but Kakashi can feel the corners of his lips turning up when he leans in to kiss him goodbye. Kakashi smiles, but knows he has been lingering too long already, and lets him go.

Tenzō, mouth still full of toothpaste, lets out of an indignant cry of “Disgusting!” as Kakashi turns towards the door.

With his back to Tenzō, Kakashi calls back, “See you at the office, Yamato-taichō!"
