Um, hello.

I have a new story...the first chapter of “Kotodama” is now on AO3.

I really, really like the premise of this story, and I hope you all do too. Thank you to @ruddcatha for the encouragement, and Rascal and @fawn-eyed-girl for beta’ing this chapter.

Summary: But the longer she didn’t speak, the more Inuyasha wanted to know what the voice that went with her scent was like. It was weird, and abnormal, and he didn’t know why he couldn’t stop thinking about it. And by the final period, in which he felt wound so tight, his claws were wearing little grooves into the wood and he’d retained even less math, science, kanji and history than usual, he’d decided. If nothing else, she was something new and interesting. Something he couldn’t predict, couldn’t figure out, couldn’t block from invading his nose, his ears, his mind.Someone he needed to know more about.

So he would be the one to get Kagome Higurashi to talk.

A modern InuKag friends-to-lovers, high school AU with powers, gangsters, words that mean more than words, and a cross-class romance.

Kotodama

Kotodama is roughly translated as “word spirit” Translations could include, "soul of language", or "sacred sound". It refers to a belief that words have spiritual or mystical powers. Positive words hold positive power & negative words hold negative power. These powers have influence our environment, occurring events, our state of mind & our souls, so be careful with your words.

The word kotodama is written with 2 kanji characters: The 1st one: koto (言), means “speech” or “word,” and the 2nd one: tama (霊), means “spirit” or “soul.” So - 言霊 = kotodama
