There are a lot of people who think that Kyuhyun is a useless stereotype. That's because he's had Byul in high school and he isn't technically out of his teens yet and he's having his second baby. People are much more complex than that. There are many intersecting reasons and factors as to why this has happened. Kyuhyun doesn't want to explain to his critics the ins and outs of his sex life. He doesn't want to explain just how the accident happened a second time.

So instead he's just judged. Seen as someone too stupid to use contraception. Someone who pops out more babies than he can afford. It's not true, of course. But that's the opinion of the general public.

Seojin was firm in his belief that he was a farm boy stuck in a city boy’s body. The proof was in the pudding, so to speak ㅡ or more so in his intense enthusiasm for the great outdoors. Getting his hands a little dirty never seemed to be a fear for him. It initially sparked his "fantastic" and spontaneous idea of inviting Kyuchul to spend some time with him, assuming it would be a much needed change from their constant time spent within the walls of their companies.

It was a risk to ask someone as in high demand as a member of Crescent. ( He questioned: how did he even manage to rope him in in the first place? ) Seojin needed to nurture his friendships with as many people as possible, partially given the fact that he did not have nearly as many older male friends as he would like to. Kyuchul could be someone to look up to ㅡ quite literally.

An activity in the fresh air and a good friend to share it with ㅡ Seojin truly couldn’t ask for more. He was grateful for the company giving them a little slice of heaven at a secluded, peaceful river. They were free to be as boisterous as they wanted, speak as they wanted, without any sort of prying eyes holding them to insane levels of scrutiny.

The Korean language did not have enough words, metaphors, or idioms to describe the relief Seojin felt simply taking a walk outside. His wild heart belonged here but he’s too much of a romantic to list it as one of his true loves. ( That list might be far longer than he realized. )

“Even the air smells nice, y’know?” Seojin tried to keep in pace with Kyuchul, slowing down his steps every once in a while when his feet got too ahead of themselves. Being overly excited was starting to become a detriment to their little excursion. "Where do you wanna set up our chairs by the shore? We can just chill out like two grumpy old men."

Balapan dengan Waktu

Tulisannya ini muncul kembali di pikiranku, dari buku 'The Other Side of Things' oleh Ahn Kyuchul yang aku baca awal tahun 2022. Tulisannya reflektif dalam melihat segala sesuatu. Aku melihatnya ini adalah soal waktu dan memori kita, waktu dengan ekspektasi, atau waktu dan surroundingnya.

Waktu sudah terlalu jauh di depanku, sedangkan aku menoleh ke belakang ketika tertinggal di sana dan sedang menunggu kapan aku akan sampai.

Waktuku seolah terhenti diusia 25 tahun. Memoriku tertinggal dimasa peralihan muda-dewasa. Tapi apakah aku sekarang sudah cukup dewasa(?)

Mereka menyuruhku untuk buru-buru, katanya sudah telat, apa yang sudah kulakukan selama itu.

Tidak pernah sekalipun aku bermalas-malasan, tetapi waktu selalu sampai lebih cepat daripada diriku.

Apa yang sudah aku lakukan selama itu? Aku yakin banyak hal. Apakah sudah cukup banyak(?) Seolah sudah telat tapi sesungguhnya setiap proses seperti tangga belajar menjadi dewasa.

Waktu berpacu dengan ekspektasi. Aku dan mereka kadang berekspektasi dengan kata-kata 'seharusnya..' dan 'kapan' Seolah waktu sudah terlewat.

Ketika aku mengurai bahwa masa mudaku masih tersisa, tiba-tiba masa itupun lewat, dan ketika aku berkata bahwa aku baik-baik saja, aku disuruh untuk sekali saja melihat rupaku di kaca. Balapan ini tidaklah adil. Seberapa keras aku mencoba, pada akhirnya sisiku tetaplah akan kalah.

Sampai kapan aku harus berpacu dengan waktu? Lebih baik waktu bukan kuanggap sebagai lawanku. Bagaimana kalau diganti dengan amal dan dosaku? Tak terlihat tapi aku sungguh takut amalku akan terlewat.

Heechul keeps his promise. He comes in every day, even when Kyuhyun refuses to talk to him. He never brings Narae though. He talks about her a lot and shows Kyuhyun pictures. Kyuhyun won't look at first. He doesn't want to see and he definitely doesn't want to be drawn into the whole plot again. He's in the hospital, they're putting medicines in him that he doesn't trust or fully understand. He blames Heechul and to an extent Narae. Well, he doesn't believe that Narae is real but he feels like she has a hold over everyone around him and he hates it. He hates that he's here against his will and has been completely stripped of all control.

Way to not fail

Throughout multiple failures, fate has taught him to give up, now, he is going through what fate wants him to do. He can't accept the double failure.

Therefore, at the end of the day, he finds a way to see a failure as a purpose. If you're seeking a failure than a success, you have no reason to be afraid when you're fall and there's no need to feel frustrated because of failure.

If not success but failure that has become the purpose, then you'll fail as its planned, that failure can be the first success you've experienced. Though, you will fail again against your own fate, it will resulted from fighting your own fate through a double failure.

Fate, even in his dreams, probably he couldn't imagine that another person would confront him directly, to bring failure to themselves.
