DAY 5554
Jalsa, Mumbai             May 1,  2023              Mon 10:20 PM
Requests for the appearance and presence at various functions .. meet words for those that wish to spend a mere few seconds, pictures auto graphs .. all demands are loved and legitimate .. what is not is the restrictions imposed by the Doctors that look after my body ..
And that needs an immense amount of respect and honour ..
I do .. and shall urge those that seek those requests be complied with, to understand that as well ..
My gratitude ..
A halt , in the proceedings of the many operations that need attention, does create the apprehension whether the work shall be done or not .. often it is not and that is disturbing ..
When timings are not kept .. when promises made for the completion of a certain job be delayed and excuses manufactured around them then they give signals that these and those and them should not be given attention and jobs for continuance ..
Leniency , can be tolerated once or twice .. but then when the issues become beyond reckoning then leniency takes a back seat .. and authority and demand and admonition takes over in some strength ..
Do not be in the lament that attention shall never be given ..
It is all being noticed and captured and recorded .. and when the slip happens then the slip out from the appointed, shall be rejected and the golden hand shakes take over ..
The docile submissive nature of the one that extends the deployment diminishes and it shall be seen mant a times that what was in the gain before never does occur again ..
Technology take over has reduced in a sense the temperament of memory and the remembering in the absence of an assistant that overlooks all else .. but that little rectangle in our hands these day and in the hands of billions is the latest utensil for every possible situation ..
we have never learnt to deploy it to its maximum .. forget the maximum .. even a third of its usage doe snot atke place before the new product appears with its marketing bonanza and , sure enough the abandon of the previous takes place and fresh out of the oven takes over ..
The learning of which takes a few months .. and by the time the education is over another out of the oven product appears ..
The human mind has been replicated .. as shall the form soon enough ..
A.I and the rest of them wait in the gallery to be supreme and end this dominance of the human ..
See you then in the next .. if ever there shall be opportunity to have another

I really like your bolos series! Though, each chapter I wonder ‘is this when the trainees come in and hijack the story’ so that’s a new development. Never had that thought before when reading a fic😂
Anyway, I’m really enjoying the story so far and getting already attached to Alec’s new gaggle of children and your other OCs
Could you say something about the setting/worldbuilding? Is it the same as your Golden series? In terms of Alec’s standing with other institutes and the clave and how things are with the downworld and things like that (Don’t feel pressured to answer!)
I am delighted to hear that thought crosses your mind. No the trainees aren't at the hijacking the fic point quite yet, though the rookies sure are doing their best to pick up the slack, but they'll get there. And when they do, the poor inhabitants of the Spiral Labyrinth won't know what hit them.😂
I am sorry for the long ramble that's going to come your way, but talking about worldbuilding is something that puts me straight into infodump mode.
The worldbuilding is slightly different between Bolos/Bridges and the Golden series (that is getting another spinoff because of a particular someone who knows who they are). Alec is only an Acting Head at the moment though that's going to change because the Clave aren't the only ones that can be scheming in the background, whereas in the Golden series, he becomes the HOTI pretty early in the fic. Standing wise, Alec has earned himself a LOT of brownie points/respect in the eyes of those present during the meeting with Magnus. So, he's got a pretty good standing at the moment with several institute heads, which will help later in the story.
The Mumbai incident is still a thing that happened, though, so maybe not brownie points everywhere. Also, that means that the backstory for Arjun getting to the institute is still the same. Then again, the backstory for most trainees - not that any of it has really been given - is mostly the same between Bridges/Bolos and the Golden series. The only exception I can think of is Max, who didn't have his traumatic near-death experience after Maryse and Robert failed at being parents again.
The situation with the downworld is completely different from the Golden series. Without giving away too much, there is a reason Magnus is acting the way he is, and as you can guess the Clave/shadowhunters are mostly to blame for it. The dynamic with the Elders is also different given that a lot of downworlders live in the Spiral Labyrinth at the moment and the warlocks don't want to simply rule over the others, so to speak. Also, Magnus' dynamic with the rest of the downworld is very different for reasons already mentioned in passing but will be mentioned in more detail in later chapters. But yeah, Magnus is a far bigger deal in this fic than he is in the Golden series, even with him being one of the Elders in the Golden series.
Some of the worldbuilding when it comes to the cultural aspect is similar. The different names and forms of address still play a role (and one day I will get to writing down the Nephilim naming thing in a chapter without the muse deciding to throw it out in favor of something else). The greetings are different though! As are the marriage traditions, outside of the gold for shadowhunters and blue for warlocks. Also, the family oath that Alec used isn't a thing in the Golden series.
The dynamic at the institute is slightly different as well. Alec's shadowhunters still respect him, but he's not as close with some of his fellow shadowhunters as he is in the Golden series because the "let's ridicule the latest bigot, who decides to be awful"-punishment isn't a thing. And, nothing to build a good rapport with your shadowhunters than to have them watch as you kick an asshole's ass while you're wearing a ridiculous outfit.
I ended up rambling a bit more than anticipated, oops. But yeah, these are some of the differences/similarities between both verses.

Short story for the Desi Secret Santa Exchange
Blue and lilac melded into a different colour entirely to signal the onset of dusk. Cars, trucks, and motorcycles whooshed past her on the street. The air was light with the sounds of chatter and laughter over a cup of coffee from the adjoining café. Anuja stood in front of the bookshop with a frown, left foot tapping against the pavement in an uncertain manner.
Odd. Their bookshop meets were sacred! Tarun never arrived late to these before. Anuja stared at her surroundings, stared at her white shoes, at her blank phone screen - everywhere. She tried calling a few times to no response.
It had been Anuja's dream to study fashion design in Paris for so long and she was finally here. The first couple of months were like a passing storm cloud. Everything happened all at once- welcome parties, assignment deadlines, one night stands, a life-altering realisation. And she was alone through it all.
Well, not exactly. She'd video-call Naani over Skype every week. Naani would rant about whatever Nanaji's newest peculiar obsession was (dal fry, that one political party, that one sceen from that one Akshay Kumar movie) and Anuja would rant about the latest event of her life (Mireille and Daisy's party, finally visiting the Louvre, finally making a friend). Naani, the badass woman that she was, had been to Paris for studying herself in the early sixties. She'd met Edith Piaf too! And that made it a bit more tolerable, her anecdotes. Anuja would try to do the things her Naani had done decades ago and feel amazing.
But right now, Anuja wasn't thinking about her grandmother. She was thinking about how damn LATE Tarun was! A quick glance at her wrist-watch told her it was almost seven and the probability of Tarun finally showing up, all windswept hair and flushed cheeks, dwindled by the minute.
A couple months ago Anuja had been terribly homesick. The aroma of dum biryani would creep into her dreams unprecedented only for her to absently munched on a random sandwich from her refrigerator the next morning. The yearning to dance manically to Diljit Dosaanjh's new song playing from crappy speakers until her feet gave way was ever-present. Maybe she should've listened to her father and started preparing for NEET. Maybe she should've run away with her friends from Mumbai and started a rock band. And that's when she met Tarun.
God, she was going to lose it whenever Tarun showed up next! He'd stood her up thrice now. Anuja understood when he canceled movie night, and forgot about the study date in the library. But this was the last straw.
Sighing, she retraced her steps and called Naani first thing on reaching her flat. It took a second for the connection to get established, but as soon as she heard the "what's wrong, beta?" all thoughts came tumbling out.
Turns out, every assignment wasn't interesting. But you still had to meet every deadline and hell, Anuja was a scholarship student. She Could. Not. Afford. To get a bad remark. She'd succeeded so far but only barely, spending the night before completing it from start to finish, fuelled by caffeine. There were plenty who got better remarks, wider smiles and more approving nods than her. It was a long road.
"What's wrong, beta?" Naani asked again, once she was done ranting. Damn.
Everything. Okay, maybe that was a bit dramatic. Maybe she should maje coffee. Maybe she should hunt all over for Tarun, hold him at gunpoint and ask him why he was canceling stuff. And while she was at it, just ki-
Maybe she could catch the next flight and return to India. Yeah, maybe that'd make things so much better!
"EVERYTHING!" She groaned and her Naani laughed heartily.
"Acquired a flair for the dramatics already, meri choti si jaan has already morphed into a true Parisienne!" Naani exclaimed and Anuja rolled her eyes. (Spoiler alert: she was also smiling wide)
Her grandmother looked above the screen for a second, probably to check on Nanaji, before meeting her eyes. There was an uncertain silence before Naani broke it by asking, "Who's the boy?"
What boy?
"Naani, chalo bhi! I'm not interested in dating. This is a crisis. I kind of want to return to India. Aapka aloo paratha yaad aa raha hai, bhaad mein gaye bell bottoms!"
She meant it as a light comment. But tears had made their way across her cheeks. She had no real friends here, except for Tarun but well that depends. Mireille and Daisy invited her to ONE party and never looked her in the eye again. Same with everyone else. Anuja was alone here, polar opposite of how she was in Mumbai. And she was losing interest in stuff anyway.
"Louvre aur Eiffel Tower toh roj dikh jaata hai, Naani Maa, but there's nothing left for me here. Maybe there never was-"
"Chup kar," Naani said abruptly, crossing her arms. "Ever since you were little, beta, you were obsessed with clothes. I'd take you to the Growels Mall and you'd stare at those mannequins for hours, poetry spinning away in your head. Your arms itching to hold the dresses, to feel its fabrics and study it carefully."
Anuja had stopped crying. She longed to tell Naani that people change, feelings fade, but she remained quiet. Naani had a strange expression on her face, inscrutable.
"I want to you to know that humaare darwaazein hamesha khule hai, Anu, but I want you to think over thus for a week. Don't make any rash decisions you'll regret later-"
She stared at a point above the screen again, eyebrows raised. "Jevaayla vaadhlay, Pakya," she said with barely concealed exasperation.
Anuja laughed. This wad golden- Naani almost never called Nanaji by his name unless she was super irritated and even then, she'd use this nickname his siblings addressed him with!
That's when she decided. She'd been through four months of overwhelming stuff; a week was shorter than the time it took to convince Naani once that there was no lizard in the house. Anuja could manage. Someone chose that moment to ring the doorbell and Anuja greeted her grandmother goodbye.
It was Tarun, with windswept hair and flushed cheeks. About fucking time.
_
Seven days later.
Tarun was cooking a rather nice-smelling dum biryani in their little flat kitchen using the groceries they'd brought in last night. Anuja was pacing back and forth in the passage, overthinking every little thought she'd been so sure of last night. She was going to tell Naani today. She was going to tell Naani that-
"I want to stay in Paris and complete my education! And then, I want to go to Mumbai to start something of my own," she blurted out, all in one breath.
And the other thing. Well, Anuja had listened to numerous Lata Mangeshkar songs this week and everything else on their Spotify Blend to try and find the right words for this moment. Tarun walked out of the kitchen looking like a greek god and sat next to her on the couch. He and Naani exchanged greetings.
What if Naani thought she wasn't following her heart and only staying in Paris for Tarun? Well, Tarun was certainly a part of it. They made each other better. And maybe getting him to model all the outfits Anuja made was another plus point.
"Something else you'd like to tell me, chhakuli?"
Wait, did she know? Was it that obvious? And most importantly, why was she smiling? Was she seriously okay with it?
Ah, right. She'd been absently holding Tarun's hand the whole time. Naani narrowed her eyes and Anuja's blood ran cold. "You break my granddaughter's heart, you break my heart, clear? And I'd prefer to keep it intact for now."
"Of course, Aunty!"
Anuja was in Paris, living a dream, seeing another one - Mumbai - at midnight. She was certain she'd go far in life. She was certain she'd be okay. Well, home is where the heart is and sometimes that home is a person.

BIOGRAPHY;
Shivani Rao was born in Mumbai, India into a very loving home. She was the younger of two sisters and had no complaints throughout her early childhood. Her father and mother got the opportunity to move to New York when Shivani was about eight years old. They were going to be managing a Indian grocery store location in the suburbs and the girls would be transitioning to becoming American citizens. Her mother was already a US citizen as she had been born there, but her father had to work extremely hard to gain his own citizenship and while the girls were still young, and one of their parents was a citizen they were also able to gain citizenship a little easier.
Middle school was the worst time for little Shivani’s life as she just did not fit in. She felt like while she was in a prominently Indian neighbourhood, she didn’t fit in with the kids born there either. And so she all but threw herself into dance. Dance had been a love of hers since she was back home in India and allowing it to move with her to New York had been important for Shivani. This love allowed her to thrive on a public stage and gain fame even if it was through the community. Still her father saw something in her performances and encouraged her to apply to Juilliard. At this point despite being relatively middle-class, she didn’t want to apply knowing that if she got accepted but didn’t get a scholarship all her dreams would crash. But given her financial standing and her exceptional talent, she’d managed to get a scholarship.
Those four years getting her bachelor of fine arts in dance had been nothing short of wonderful. She had found friends who understood that level of dedication and passion that she possessed as well. Upon graduation she’d opted to work on off-broadway for a few years and had been part of some shows while continuing to audition for broadway level shows as well. One day she’d been told she was one of the top two contenders and Shivani had to do anything she could to become the one on top. She did. She edged out her competition, her best friend at the time and made it.
The success was short-lived though as it was during one of the shoes that her harness snapped and she fell to the stage from a bit of a height. Shivani’s ankle was severely damaged. Enough that the position would be filled by her understudy, that same best friend who had been her competition. Becoming a failure hadn’t sat well with Shivani at all and while her family told her that it was okay and she could always move back home to Queens, New York—she refused to do that. She had been living a life in Manhattan—she couldn’t go back to living with her parents.
It took some time and a lot of different applications sent around the country until finally one picked up in Wilmington, North Carolina. They had a vacancy for a dance instructor and so Shivani packed up her belongings and made her way there. It had been an adjustment but she’s now been here for about five years and managed to buy out the previous owner of the dance studio as well. Her injury made is so that she couldn’t really ever put as much pressure on it as she once used to during practices but she was still able to teach dance and so she continues to do that, while trying to make peace with what her life could’ve been had she perhaps not messed up in the way she did.
HEADCANONS;
shivani is quite religious and has a little mandir set up in a corner of her home.
she's often humming the latest indian track she's heard and ensuring everyone around her listens to it as well.
she loves cooking and will often be cooking for people even if they don't ask.
shivani's got two tattoos, both on her rib cages. one that says 'naach' which means dance in devanagari script. and the other is a pair of ghungroo's which was the first dance form she learnt.
she's classically trained in kathak, and jazz officially but doesn't get the chance to teach that anymore and does more hip hop and freestyle along with some simple ballet.
she will go to despicable lengths for a costco chocolate chip cookie, and the subway ones as well.
she misses her family quite a bit but knows that if she heads back to new york she'll feel like a failure because the rest of her family is successful and she doesn't think she's lived up to the potential her father saw in her.
she is almost always carrying a mini pharmacy in her purse, that and pretty much all essentials at all times.
has a little havenese dog that is named rolo and he is truly the love of her life.
attended a bachelorette party in vegas and ended up married on a whim. her parents still don't know and she'd prefer to keep it that way. (besides they got it annulled--maybe? 👀)

As the sea rises and the population booms, builders around the world are in a race to transform coastal bays and shallow seas into new land. Yet don’t mistake this rush of land reclamation as a response to the challenges we face. “It’s built for rich people,” explains Dhritiraj Sengupta, a physical geographer at England’s University of Southampton. Sengupta’s latest research shows there’s been a huge increase in the use of reclaimed land for luxury hotels, shopping areas, and high-end living spaces—developments designed to boost a city’s global reputation.
Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, is a good example of this prestige building, Sengupta says. Tourism and economic development—especially to lure a wealthy clientele—has driven most of the building boom in Dubai. But it also highlights the issues with reclaimed land. The World in Dubai, a world map–shaped artificial archipelago and one of the largest examples of luxury reclamation, covers around 50 square kilometers. But development on the islands has stalled, and there are claims it’s already washing away.
Land reclamation—dumping sand, rocks, and other materials along coastal areas and building structures like sea walls to keep it all in place—is not new. Many metropolises, like New York City in New York and Mumbai in India, are built on reclaimed land, as are large swaths of some countries, like the Netherlands. But what is striking about recent land reclamation, Sengupta says, is the pace. “Cities are growing rapidly,” he says.
Using satellite imagery to analyze the growth of 135 coastal cities with at least one million residents between 2000 and 2020, Sengupta found that 106 cities have expanded into the sea. In total, these 106 cities have added more than 2,530 square kilometers of land—an area the size of Luxembourg. Asia is leading this land grab, accounting for 98 percent of the growth.
Shanghai, China, alone has reclaimed 350 square kilometers of land, while Colombo, Sri Lanka, built 100 square kilometers in just four years. Elsewhere, cities in South Korea, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore all added at least 30 square kilometers to their coasts over the past two decades.
But when Sengupta compared his analysis with data from the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, he found that more than 70 percent of this new land will likely be underwater by 2100.

Why Power BI Takes the Lead Against SSRS
Tumblr media
In an era where data steers the course of businesses and fuels informed decisions, the choice of a data visualization and reporting tool becomes paramount. Amidst the myriad of options, two stalwarts stand out: Power BI and SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services). As organizations, including those seeking Power BI training in Gurgaon, strive to extract meaningful insights from their data, the debate about which tool to embrace gains prominence. In this digital age, where data is often referred to as the "new oil," selecting the right tool can make or break a business's competitive edge.
Understanding the Landscape
What is Power BI?
Microsoft Power BI is a powerful business analytics application that enables organizations to visualize data and communicate insights across the organization. With its intuitive interface and user-friendly features, Power BI transforms raw data into interactive visuals, making it easier to interpret and draw actionable conclusions.
What is SSRS?
On the other hand, SSRS, also developed by Microsoft, focuses on traditional reporting. It enables the creation, management, and delivery of traditional paginated reports. SSRS has been a reliable choice for years, but the advent of Power BI has brought new dimensions to data analysis.
The Advantages of Power BI Over SSRS
In the realm of data analysis and reporting tools, Power BI shines as a modern marvel, surpassing SSRS in various crucial aspects. Let's explore the advantages that set Power BI apart:
1. Interactive Visualizations
Power BI's forte lies in its ability to transform raw data into interactive and captivating visual representations. Unlike SSRS, which predominantly deals with static reports, Power BI empowers users to explore data dynamically, enabling them to drill down into specifics and gain deeper insights. This interactive approach enhances data comprehension and decision-making processes.
2. Real-time Insights
While SSRS offers a snapshot of data at a particular moment, Power BI steps ahead with real-time data analysis capabilities. Modern businesses, including those enrolling in a Power BI training institute in Bangalore, require up-to-the-minute insights to stay competitive, and Power BI caters precisely to this need. It connects seamlessly to various data sources, ensuring that decisions are based on the latest information.
3. User-Friendly Interface
Power BI's intuitive interface stands in stark contrast to SSRS's somewhat technical setup. With its drag-and-drop functionality, Power BI eliminates the need for extensive coding knowledge. This accessibility allows a wider range of users, from business analysts to executives, to create and customize reports without depending heavily on IT departments.
4. Scalability
As a company grows, so does the amount of data it handles. Power BI's cloud-based architecture ensures scalability without compromising performance. Whether you're dealing with a small dataset or handling enterprise-level data, Power BI can handle the load, guaranteeing smooth operations and robust analysis.
5. Natural Language Queries
One of Power BI's standout features is its ability to understand natural language queries. Users can interact with the tool using everyday language and receive relevant visualizations in response. This bridge between human language and data analytics simplifies the process for non-technical users, making insights accessible to all.
The SEO Advantage
In the digital age, search engine optimization (SEO) plays a vital role in ensuring your content, including information about Power BI training in Mumbai, reaches the right audience. When it comes to comparing Power BI and SSRS in terms of SEO, Power BI once again takes the lead.
With their interactive visual content, Power BI-enhanced articles attract more engagement. This higher engagement leads to longer on-page time, lower bounce rates, and improved SEO rankings. Search engines recognize user behavior as a marker of content quality and relevance, boosting the visibility of Power BI-related articles.

★ Jassie Gill and Siddharth Nigam on board Salman Khan’s next; Shoot begins in Mumbai!
May 23, 2022
Salman Khan films always hit the headlines, and his next too has been in the news for the last one years for several reasons, including the probable cast members, though the makers never made an official announcement from their end. Around a week back, Salman Khan commenced shooting for his much awaited action comedy with Farhad Samji. The actor was joined by his co-star, Pooja Hegde on the first day of shoot, as they shot for an extensive action scene set in the metro. And now, we have exclusively learnt that there are two latest additions to the cast of this yet untitled film.
Our sources have confirmed that Jassie Gill and Siddharth Nigam will play key roles of Salman’s brothers in the film. “Salman, Farhad and the entire team were on the lookout for actors with some comic timing and after extensive search have zeroed in on Jassie Gill, Siddharth Nigam and Raghav to play the three brothers. The trio will join Salman at a set in Mumbai today,” revealed a source close to the development. Shehnaaz Gill has been roped in to play a key role in this project, which is gearing up for a year end release. Jassie and Siddharth had come on board the project around a week back, and their look tests too have been done last week
“It’s a fresh cast that the team has roped in. The prolonged ensemble of the film consists of Salman Khan, Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Shehnaaz Gill, Jassie Gill, Raghav and Siddharth Nigam. More names are being added to the cast and an announcement with the title will be made this week by the makers,” the source added. While Jassie has already acted in Panga, it's Hindi film debut for Shehnaaz. Siddharth Nigam on the other hand is a popular TV personality and has played the younger version of Aamir Khan in Dhoom 3.
Following the action schedule in Mumbai, the Salman Khan Films production will extensively be shot in Hyderabad from June. Some more names from the Telugu industry are casted in the film. As reported by Pinkvilla before, Pushpa fame, Devi Sri Prasad will be composing the music of the film, whereas V Manikandan is the cinematographer. Manikandan has worked with Shankar in films like Anniyan and did the cinematography for the soon to be released Brahmastra.
