jamesthenerdd: STAYCATION : AFTER THE SHOW

Last night was emotional to say the least, I go to see @ lawrencetheband and MANY others perform the final night of Staycation, and I end up meeting Darren Criss and hanging out with Clyde and some of the band at a bar, along with some of the amazing friends I’ve made because of them.

During day 3 we were brought into sound check, and there I noticed they had a guest on stage, and I stopped functioning, my hands and feet went totally numb and I could barely breathe. It was Darren Criss. One of my biggest influences growing up.

Darren quickly finished up and left, but my tears continued and they didn’t stop for a long time. The sweetheart @ gracie is, she stopped a few times in between to make sure I was okay. I explained it to her, and she said she’d tell Darren. The other fans in there were so supportive and happy for me , seeing how emotional just seeing him in person made me.

Later in the show , he came out and I held up my phone that said “Glee / You saved my life“ and he saw it at the end. And he was so sweet about it . Gave me a lil signal of happiness and appreciation.

After the show I waited outside to try to meet him. But after 2 hours we were convinced he left out the other side, and only the crew and band was still there. Then, another hour later the last person yet to come out was Gracie, and who else walked out with her , other than DARREN!!!

He immediately recognized me and came up to me with his arms wide open, We had a quick conversation not to hold Gracie up too much but he was so sweet and it was everything I could ever imagine. He gave me a big hug and took a few minutes to talk, before joining Gracie.

I left to go home, I got everything I needed from the night, or so I thought. I was halfway done with my Uber when I got a dm with the address to the band’s after party.

Now the post is full circle.

Thank you Clyde and Gracie and the whole team for a fantastic weekend I will never forget. I love you guys IMMENSELY. I’m so proud of you going from YouTube covers to selling out 3 days of an event this extravagant.

Cant wait for the next one

Elektro-Swing-Funk  /  ein neuer Sound Man wird alt, inspiriert seine Eltern, bei mir war es meine Muddel, die sich durch mich Joe Cocker reinzog und dann sogar ein Album kaufte. Meine großgezogenen Kinder inspirieren jetzt mich. Was gibt es für tolle Musiker. Frauen und Männer sind hochausgebildet, spielen wie die Götter und haben dank YouTube eine Plattform gefunden, um sich zu zeigen. Da kommen Bands aus dem Nichts und sind nach wenigen Jahren die neuen Zugpferde. Den neuen Sound verfolge ich seit ein paar Jahren. 2017 war ich bei Snarky Puppy im Huxley. Im März 2023 bei Lawrence im Columbia-Theater. Morgen Abend geht es in den Gretchenklub zu Scary Pocket. Ein paar alte Rocker mischen sich unter die jungen Leute, für die Englisch heute fast schon die Muttersprache ist. Wir freuen uns schon darauf. Hier können die Alten von den jungen Leuten lernen.
