I am trying to grow out my hair with wash-n-go’s. I have grown out my hair several times using twist-outs but I want to see if I can get the same results with wash-n-gos. The last three months my hair did not grow at the rate that I know it can so I am going back to doing all of the things I used to do when I did twist-outs but with now with wash-n-gos. So...

1. I am returning to co-washing and shampooing only once a month

•I used to be a faithful co-washer and my hair loved it but I got caught up in the constantly changing natural hair movement that decided that shampoos were necessary every wash day again.

2. I am re-introducing deep conditioners into my routine

•I used to deep condition my hair every wash day without fail and for the last 6 months I only used rinse out conditioners.

3. I am adding coconut oil back into my routine

•I never had any negative reactions to coconut oil—I just stopped using it because I figured I didn’t need it.

4. Lastly, I am going back to trimming my hair when I feel it rather than on a schedule.

Don’t know if all of these things made a huge difference in my hair growth or if my hair just grew faster with twist-outs because my hair was confined so it stayed moisturized longer...guess I’ll find out! The only difference is that I will be cowashing my hair more frequently than I did with twist-outs to restore the moisture.
