Celebrar el Orgullo no tiene que ver con la soberbia; tiene que ver con lo opuesto a la vergüenza. La comunidad LGTBQ+ pasó mucho tiempo avergonzándose de quiénes eran por el estigma que la sociedad impuso sobre ellxs, es por ello que celebrar hoy, es una muestra de que no hay que esconderse, sino enorgullecerse de quienes son. Usemos el Orgullo como arma frente a décadas de vergüenza.

Dejemos la vergüenza de ser y sentir todo aquello que no es normativo y enorgullezcamos de nuestra identidad.

Vivir fingiendo ser otra persona y ocultando la propia orientación sexual genera un estado de preocupación constante, acompañado del miedo a ser rechazado por mostrarnos tal y como somos, y puede perjudicar nuestra salud mental.

Sabemos perfectamente que salir de closet puede implicar tantos miedos y complicaciones que se hace imposible, pero actualmente los profesionales de la salud mental podemos ayudar en todos estos casos, ofreciendo estrategias para disminuir las complicaciones y herramientas para superar los miedos. Incluso, en aquellos casos donde la persona decide mantener la imagen que siempre ha dado, podemos ayudar a lidiar con la presión y ansiedad excesiva que esto demanda. Es importante saber que no estamos solos y que siempre pueden haber otras perspectivas.
