Fruity Drinks: L x Reader - Drunk Sex (Minors Don't Interact)
Tumblr media
Writer's Notes: Can you tell that I'm running out of ideas? First Shigaraki's stoned smut and now L's drunk smut. I don't encourage substance use!! It's just funny to write about with my favorite characters.
Warnings: VERY ooc L, silly L, fem reader, alcohol use, drunk sex (L and reader are both drunk), the reader is described as a young adult, oral sex (m and f receiving), 69, no penetrative sex, comedy smut sorta, lame and cheesy but kind of fluff ending
How L ended up agreeing to this little arrangement was beyond him. It wasn't that he had never consumed alcohol before. There were a few times when he'd buy a sweet drink from a nice restaurant when he went out. Drinking enough to get drunk, though? L couldn't recall ever doing that. He hated the idea of his judgement and self-control being impaired.
However, he had recently solved a very internationally significant case. You insisted that he and you should celebrate. L didn't really understand the point, he solved cases left and right all the time. He had so many under his belt that it didn't necessarily add to his notoriety anymore. In actuality, though, you simply wanted a night where you and L felt like two typical young adults, wanting to have some fun and loosen up. His solving his latest case was merely an excuse, a poor one in L's opinion.
So you and him sat in one of his more cozy rooms at his house. The room was big and decorated nicely. You questioned if L had chosen the interior design or if it was how the room was before he purchased the house. Or maybe a product of Watari's doing? Themes of white and gold rained prominent throughout the room, which added to the novelty. In front of you and L were many drinks, accompanied by juices and soda that you thought would make the drinks more tolerable. L expressed to you that he could hardly bear the taste of alcohol, so you made sure to accommodate him with some easier options.
"So, it must feel nice to have gotten that case out of the way," you comment.
A part of L was agitated by that question, perceiving it as petty small talk. "Yes, it is. Admittedly, every time I solve a case, I feel disappointed knowing there's no more to uncover from said case; that the war has been won. The satisfaction from my victory is more to compensate for it, though. I'll just have to go searching for another, now."
"Mhm. Did you have any ideas on what drinks you were interested in?" you asked.
"Hard to say. Something sweet, for sure."
"No need to over-explain yourself. I'm sure it'll be perfectly fine."
You chuckle at his very obvious statement, "I could've guessed that. I heard that vodka cranberries were sweet, so I chose stuff for that, if it's alright. I will warn you that I am not someone who mixes drinks often. I kind of don't even know what I am doing, but I tried coming prepared."
So you continued to pour L a drink, mixing vodka and cranberry juice like an amateur bartender. You also made yourself one, hoping that the matching drinks would provide some nice bonding between the two of you. When you were done, you handed your lover his drink and he held the glass with his pointer and thumb, eyeballing it for a moment.
"This would have been nice with some cherries," he comments.
"I'll remember that for next time," you chuckle, taking a sip from your drink.
L began drinking his beverage as well, furrowing his brows at the sting of the alcohol in his throat. You eyeball him, finding his face of discomfort adorable.
"Are you alright?" you ask.
"Yes, love. It's not as bad as I thought. I think the cranberry juice dilutes the taste of the alcohol, but there's still a burning sensation."
"Makes sense."
"Why exactly are we doing this again?"
"To have fun. Loosen up a little."
"Ah, I see. You know that I'm not one to do this sort of thing. Especially not anything that would impair my reasoning abilities."
"I know. Is it okay? We can stop if you'd like."
"I didn't mean that, exactly. Honestly, I'm a little curious to what you are like while intoxicated. Is that strange of me to say?" he questions, giving you an engaged expression.
"That's true, though. Perhaps I should indulge your curiosity. You deserve the privilege for being such an outstanding girlfriend, " he eyes you with a neutral expression.
You blush and laugh a bit, "No. I don't mind that."
Honestly, L being nosy was something that was a surprising turn on often.
"I actually wanted to see how you'd be, honestly. I've never seen you drunk or high or anything like that and I was curious on how your behavior would shift."
"You're the perfect psychologist."
You chuckle abruptly in response.
You laugh at his compliments, feeling a sense of comfort in knowing his admiration for you. L continues to drink his vodka cran, watching you as you drink yours as well.
------------
About an hour rolls by and you and L are absolutely hammered. This was a surprise for sure. L had never submitted to this kind of lack of cognitive control, and you had surely never seen this side of him.
The two of you hadn't simply sat there and drank. You had turned on some crime documentary and sat side by side, with your form leaning onto his shoulder. L seemed to really be enjoying his drinks, as he downed one after the other. It was actually very concerning. In truth, he just really liked the taste of them and you two hadn't gotten snacks.
It seemed that L could hold his liquor quite well, and he did when he was simply watching TV. Until now. You sat as the documentary began to give the viewers options as to who they thought the suspect was in the series of murders. L went from dead quiet to deeply and prominently vocal, so much so that it startled you.
"It's him. How..? A seven year old could guess who the murderer is...that one-uh-guy."
Your eyes shot wide open and you tried your hardest to hold in a laugh.
"I'm shutting this off," L announces, clumsily reaching for the remote. He grips it sluggishly and flicks the tv off, slouching back onto the couch. He still sat in his typical position but with his head titled to the side, looking as though he was about to fall over.
You hadn't exactly processed your own intoxication up to this point. It was terribly difficult not to hold back your laughter, and ultimately, you failed. You let out the most uncensored laugh, and L shot his face your way with his finger pressed to his lip.
"What's funny?"
"You. You're cute."
"Oooooh. Yes, you tell me that very often."
"I'm sorry."
"Oh no need..my love. You're, quite "cute" yourself. Did you know that?"
Your flustered face beams a glow, both from the alcohol and your embarrassment. You continue to chuckle for way too many seconds. You sat rigidly in response, thighs pressed together and hands on top of them.
"You..."L begins. You could tell that him never being drunk before contributed to his very apparent intoxication.
"You're so pretty. Your hair,,, and your eyes...you're..how did I manage to end up with such a beautiful lady?? You're so gorgeous, Y/N."
He was plastered. This was hilarious. You thought he was lying but when you looked at him and saw his cheeks flushed and eyes heavy, along with his finger teasing his lips, you could tell he was genuine. He was cute, so much so that you couldn't control more flustered laughter escaping your lips.
"Am I funny?" L asked. You couldn't tell if he was insulted or not. You hoped that it wasn't the case, as your laughter was far from out of a malicious nature.
"Yeah. I think you're the funniest person I know. You make me laugh without even meaning to, like all the time."
"Hmm...you like me that much? Do I have really have that affect on you?"
Even though you were very drunk, you could hear the tone of his voice become rather flirtatious, though uncoordinated.
"I've noticed, Y/N. You're rather addicted to my attention. And when you look at me, your face lights up. Your body tenses. Your speech becomes stammered. I'm not referring to the alcohol, nuh uh. You love me."
"Yes, of course, I love you. Why wouldn't I?"
You felt hurt a little, so you held your head down. It made you upset, because yes, he was a rather sneaky and occasionally manipulative partner. He wasn't harsh or anything, or trying to corrupt you, at least you thought. But he would try and pry out information and reactions from you, and get you to say things that would help him understand your tricks and own manipulation tactics.
"Because I am a treacherous, inhumane liar. Who's to say..I'm not lying right now? About how pretty you are, hm?"
L is always a thousand steps ahead of you, easily picking up on your suspicions of the genuineness in his compliments.
"Lovee...don't frown. I didn't meaan that. I actually, have proof. That you're pretty."
"Huh?"
"Yes. Do you want to see the evidence?????"
The drunkenness of yourself and his slurred speech confused you and so you cocked an eyebrow and let out another, "Huh?"
"Come here..Sit right here, next to me."
So you complied. You scooched directly next to L. He reaches to cup your shoulder and presses you close to him. He takes your hand carefully and sets it down over his crotch. Your heart jumps at the touch of his stabbing bulge, straining against his jeans.
"You see, do you see my point?"
You could feel his point, for sure. An unexpected moan escapes your lips, and you can feel yourself become wet instantly from the knowledge of his attraction to you. It didn't help that you loved his cock, either. You feel incredibly embarrassed at the noise you made uncontrollably, and bury your face into your hands.
"No, don't do that, my love." He takes your hand and sets it on his bulge again. "I want you. Would you be willing to indulge me? In your beauty?"
"Mmmmm...yea. Yea, I'd..like that a lot," Your verbal communication has gone out the window and you are unable to manage your composure at all. "Y-yes..yes please..."
"You're so cute," without much warning, L crawls on top of you, fumbling as he does so. He hovers over you and looks you in the eyes for a moment as his hair falls downward. With lustful, lidded eyes he makes his way to kiss the nape of your neck. Even intoxicated, he manages to maintain his romantic and calculated movements, even if they are a little sloppy.
"Mmm!"
"That's it..."
L's desperate need for stimulation encourages him to grind his clothed cock on your thigh for relief. He groans as he kisses your neck, lightly nipping at it. Your gasps cause him to twitch in his pants and he yearns out in painful arousal.
"Mmm, you're soooo pretty. Can I see your breasts? They're so nice. I want to see them."
It was a little humorous when L would talk about your body. He hardly used slang terms, such as tits. His use of clinical language was cute, though awkward. You nod with an eager, "mhm."
It took him a bit to remove your shirt and unhook your bra. Surprising for him, L is usually so good at coordinated actions. Once you were exposed for him, he merely stared at you for many seconds, cock pulsing at the sight of you.
"Oh my goodness," he comments, making you embarrassed.
You can feel your face flush and grow hotter and hotter, as well as your cunt. You couldn't help it when you began squirming your thighs together in arousal, and L let out a sigh at the impact of your movements against his erection. His penis was painfully sensitive, perhaps caused by blood flow from the alcohol.
You gripped his pants, pulling the hem to release his member so you could touch him. You tuck your hand under his waistband and wrap your fingers gently around him. He sighed heavily as you stroked him clumsily. His hips rocked himself into your hand, basking in how good it felt.
"Are you,, do you feel good?" you ask with a slurred tone.
"You have no idea."
He continues nipping at your neck. His hands were relentless, searching for any part of your body to squish or tease.
"Are you turned on?" L asks with a tone of voice that makes him almost sound guilty. He knew full well he was losing control of his gravitation toward you and perhaps wasn't being the most romantic or courteous.
"How about you look for evidence?"
"Hmm.."
L did just that, hand slipped into your pants to feel your pussy. When he discovered you had a hot, wet secretion that drenched you, he slowly plunged two fingers inside out you. You whimper in tension, but once he began rubbing your special spot, your body relaxed to his touch.
His fingers pulled out, making sure to rub your clitoris a bit. The lubricant from your pussy made his motions much more fluid. Fuck, even while he was hammered he was so precise. Sloppier than usual, but still knew exactly what they were doing.
"I...i want to taste you so badly right now," he yearns as he stops fingering you. He begins moving his way down to your crotch but you grip his hair before he can make it.
"I want to..to make you feel good, too. Let me do it to you."
"What? No. I want to bury my face in you, like right now. I don't have time for your mouth."
wow.
"I think people do like, 69? Right?"
"I'm not extremely educated in that department. But...that could be nice.."
You and L exchange a few more lusty kisses until he pushes you to lie on top of him. "You should turn the other way, right?"
Without a response you turned your body so that your ass was facing him. Your cunt hovered above him, to which he glanced at for a few moments. He cupped his hands around your ass and pulled you down so that your heat was pressed against his mouth.
You yelp quietly at the contact. You hadn't ever tried 69 and the position was rather vulnerable. However, the way L was devouring your cunt made it clear he wasn't bothered in the slightest.
He lied down with his legs crunched so that his knees were bent. You took his cock in your hand, giving it a few tender strokes and finally stuffing it in your mouth. L moaned against your pussy, enhancing the stimulation. He sucked on your clit vigorously while holding you in place.
L was interesting in that he adored eating you out. You felt bad as if you were a burden for wanting that kind of pleasure. He never objected, though. He had a pretty significant oral fixation, and running his tongue along your cunt was strangely soothing. Plus, the added bonus of the pride he felt when he made you cum was incredibly rewarding.
Blowing him was kind of difficult right now. Your mouth had a hard time coordinating, but you managed to bob your head along him. He must've been enjoying it by the muffles he made against your cunt. L's cock was a bit long, which made taking his whole length tricky. His hips jolted forward on impulse, gagging you a little.
"Shit! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."
"It's..okay," you said in between kisses along his cock. L wanted to chuckle at how you were treating his length, but he was far too concentrated on making you cum. You were taking a little longer than usual, but it was alright. L simply thrust his fingers inside of you for a bit and rubbed your G-spot.
He could feel himself building slowly, and he wondered if he could make the two of you orgasm at the same time.
"Mmfm...you taste incredible," he comments. "You're so pretty down here, too."
L's praise always made your heart jolt a little. Sometimes you questioned his sincerity, but he seemed to want you to feel good about yourself for whatever reason. It still made you feel validated nonetheless.
You hummed on his dick in a pleasant response. L kept running his tongue along your clit in consistent motions, and you can start feeling your cunt quiver. L knows, recognizing the way your pussy twitched in his mouth. A smirk grazes his face as your cunt spasms in convulsions and you have to pop your head up for air as you mewl uncontrollably. L allows himself to let go as well as his cum spurts out onto your face while you gave him a mess as well.
You and L both were panting, absolutely overwhelmed by your sensations. An instant exhaustion washed over and you collapsed on top of him.
"Come here," L requests. You pull yourself to face him and L kisses you deeply, not caring about the swapping of genital fluids. "Tonight has been very pleasant, wouldn't you agree?"
"Hehe...I suppose. That felt very, very good."
"I thought so, perhaps we should do that more often."
"What about the drinking, should we do that more often?
"Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan. I feel very out of control of my inhibitions," he admits. Tonight was surely fun, though.
"That makes sense."
"I liked tonight though. And I'm happy I got to spend time with you."
"Me too," you fall on L's chest, and if he wasn't so drunk, he'd probably leave once you fell asleep. But he let himself drift along with you this time, enjoying your warmth. You were already sleeping, but he planted a kiss on your temple and allowed himself comfort in your love for him.

What’s toxic about JonMartin in canon?
It's a really interesting question to get into because there are many factors at play. Under a cut for length.
First of all is the simple fact that they don't know each other. From MAG 159:
PETER
It’s odd, really. You each think you’re so focused on the other, but how much do you really know each other? How much time have you spent together when not working, or bickering, or fleeing from that latest thing that wants to kill you? So. What are you seeking? The image you’ve each created of the other? The people you think you love don’t exist. Not really. And that’s a very lonely place to be.
ARCHIVIST
(cutting off Peter’s echo) Shut up!
Yes, it's a manipulation attempt, but Jon notably doesn't offer a counterargument to his reasoning. Furthermore, it's true: they haven't had the opportunity to get to know each other, at least that we've heard. Not even Jonmartin enthusiasts seem to agree on the question of when exactly Jon started reciprocating Martin's feelings; most of my mutuals share my experience of being completely blindsided by MAG 159/160 and the confirmation of their feelings.
"I need him to be okay" is often cited as proof of Jon caring personally about Martin, but I always viewed it as him clinging to the concept of Martin as his last surviving original assistant; he obviously feels responsible for him and also views him as a symbol of simpler times.
Then there's the fact that they're incompatible. To put a simple example, they don't even get each other's jokes. A brief selection of instances where this happens:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They have the highest ratio of missed jokes I remember seeing between characters in this podcast. This sharply contrasts with, for instance, Gerry, who instantly clicks with Jon's style of communication.
Okay, but this is all about why they're incompatible, which doesn't necessarily imply toxicity. That factor comes in because, throughout season five, Martin is (to put it bluntly) an absolute dick to Jon.
In MAG 181, for example, he joins in on laughing at Jon with Salesa for being powerless, when Salesa at that point was an unknown variable that could've easily been an enemy:
ARCHIVIST
[Compellingly] Tell me what happened.
SALESA
No.
ARCHIVIST
I – uh… W-What?
[DEEP CHUCKLES FROM SALESA]
SALESA
The look on your face! Look, he’s so confused!
[MARTIN LAUGHS A BIT TOO]
ARCHIVIST
Martin!
MARTIN
Sorry. Sorry. Y-You did look kind of funny. It was l-l-l-like you were flunking an exam or something.
Notably, this is after they cross an unknown threshold into the place where an agent of the Web is living, which puts Jon (again, powerless for the first time in a while) in a position where he's at the mercy of the fear that destroyed his childhood. Either Martin is being very insensitive or Jon didn't tell him about Mr Spider, which wouldn't mean anything good re: how well they know and trust each other.
From the same episode:
SALESA
And you?
[SOUND OF A DISGRUNTLED ARCHIVIST]
MARTIN
He’ll behave.
You can make an argument that I'm reaching with everything else in this post, but "he'll behave" is an inarguably disgusting thing to say about your partner, especially when he's in such a vulnerable position.
And then, of course, is the matter of the killing spree.
It starts because Jon impulsively avenges his friend, which he wasn't going to do until the Not-Them basically baited him. (Of course he then felt more secure in his power and part of him enjoyed it. He's in this situation because he was systematically traumatised on purpose by Jonah and forced to read his statement.)
And then, when Jon admits to being ashamed of himself for having these powers, for enjoying them, Martin just bluntly tells him that they should "get their murder on" because "these things" (avatars, of which Jon! Is! One! Nice job implicitly dehumanising him!) are "just evil" (never mind that some of them might have circumstances similar to Jon's). (Also, never mind that revenge fixes nothing, but that's neither here nor there.)
The most egregious example is with Oliver Banks. I know "I'm not going to kill a man just because you're jealous" became a meme line, but it's really not the sign of a healthy relationship.
MARTIN
…Cool, so what’s the problem, then? Take another monster off the hit list; job done.
ARCHIVIST
…It’s not. That simple?
MARTIN
Well, what does that mean. (slight pause, insistent) What does that mean, John? What, what happened to Kill Bill? (barest of pauses) John? John, you said –
ARCHIVIST
I know what I said, and I don’t – (sigh) I don’t know, Martin. I just – I don’t think he’s – (sigh) I don’t know; I don’t think he’s evil.
[Something creaks.]
MARTIN
(really?) Oh, yeah, sure; he’s probably a really kind, benevolent ruler of a hellish fear prison.
I get that Martin is trying to project evil onto every avatar in order to distance himself from them because he's coping badly with having a domain of his own, but maybe don't do that in front of your boyfriend who's struggling with his own avatarhood and whether that makes him a monster. Martin's phrasing even parallels Jon's "all you lose is another monster" line from S4. Tying Jon's worth to some arbitrary definition of humanity that he giveth and taketh away on a whim.
Also, Jon is very notably a person who likes to think things through before expressing them. If Martin can't even be patient while he tries to explain something complex, they're clearly not compatible.
This is from before they kill Jude Perry:
MARTIN
…No. No, I’m not going to choose; I don’t, I don’t think that’s a fair decision to put on me. It’s your revenge; your choice, not mine.
This strikes me as hypocritical. Martin can push Jon to kill the avatars he doesn't like even when Jon clearly isn't comfortable with it, but then places the weight of the whole thing on Jon, as if the killing spree had been his idea. Why isn't it a "fair decision to put on him" when Martin has tried to choose every time until now?
And, I mean, Martin apologises for the pressure, for what it's worth. Except no, the topic comes back, and not in a good way.
ARCHIVIST
What happened to “Kill Bill”?
MARTIN
You weren’t meant to enjoy it this much!
This is about Jon suggesting using his power in a way that would actually make a bit of a difference. Of course it's a fallible suggestion, but Martin's response is just ridiculous. Martin clearly enjoyed the killing spree until it was Jon who put an end to it.
Martin casually dehumanises, dismisses, and belittles Jon on many occasions: treating those Jon's obviously projecting onto like monsters, being whiny and impatient about the statements he needs to survive, or interrupting his train of thought.
Finally (for this post--there were many scenes that I skipped), there's the matter of how the entire crew, Martin included, systematically dismisses Jon's input in the last few episodes. It's like his opinion doesn't even matter, when he's the one arguably best equipped to understand what's happening.
It's genuinely painful to listen to.

Overall, Full Meta Jackrick was decent. I liked it. It's not a personal favorite, but I won't mind it when I eventually rewatch the series. I just had the same problem with this episode that I did with the previous installment, Never Ricking Morty: it's not bad, but it's just...there? Meta episodes don't go anywhere because they CAN'T go anywhere. They're just twenty minutes of "Check it out, we're characters in a TV show!"
Still, I think this episode did a decent job of leaning into the meta without ruining the show. I was a little worried that Morty would realize that he's in a TV show and the entire universe would fall apart as he and Rick deconstruct everything, and then we'd have to act like nothing happened in the next episode. Luckily, Full Meta Jackrick didn't push the show's boundaries too far.
But yeah, I thought this episode was a little...pointless? It avoided cliches for the most part, but it also didn't say anything new. It wasn't a groundbreaking deconstruction of Rick and Morty or TV shows as a whole. It was just another take on the "Rick knows that he's in a TV show" concept, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it left me going "What was the point of that?"
The episode looked like it might have an anti-capitalist message with the Rick plushies, but that didn't really go anywhere, either. However, that might be a good thing--a preachy statement would've weighed down the episode even if I agree with it.
Tumblr media
Full Meta Jackrick had a little more substance than Never Ricking Morty because at least we watched "our" Rick and Morty go on an adventure. I enjoyed watching an episode with just the two of them again. Their dynamic is brilliant--EVERYTHING that Rick and Morty do together is entertaining.
The first half of season six was great, but the episodes felt a little "off" because Morty didn't have much to do in most of them. Now, he's finally stepping back into the protagonist role.
Bringing back Story Lord (and Jesus) and writing a follow-up to Never Ricking Morty in general is a little gutsy and unexpected, which I can respect. Did anyone think that we'd ever hear anything about that train again? Never Ricking Morty isn't particularly loved or reviled--it's just an experimental episode that we probably would've forgotten about if it didn't foreshadow the season five Birdrick reveal.
For me, Full Meta Jackrick is a slightly better version of Never Ricking Morty because it's canon and has a more cohesive storyline. Full Meta Jackrick, like all of season six, also has great callbacks to the first couple of seasons. They never feel pandering or like they're trying to trigger your nostalgia--instead, they poke fun at the series itself and show you that the writers really care about this universe.
I also thought that this might've been the funniest episode of the season. Gotta be honest, guys--I normally roll my eyes when people say "Rick and Morty isn't funny anymore blah blah," but season six is the first season where I'm like "Yeah, the jokes haven't been great." But this episode had a lot of funny lines.
Tumblr media
We did get some great character moments with Rick and Morty. Rick's still Rick: he's lazy, crabby, selfish and rude. But he's gentler with Morty, too. He treats him like a person and partner (in crime) instead of hoarsely shouting at him. He looks out for him and gives him his lab coat when they're freezing--boy, THAT'S been a fandom staple for nearly a decade.
This might be a stretch, but the scene in the garage caught my attention, too. Rick gently turns on Morty's goggles for him--you know, like an actual grandfather--instead of telling him to do it and then yelling that he's too slow or whatever.
Tumblr media
This is seriously the fanservice season. Rick in a suit and tie yet again, Rick draping his lab coat over a shivering Morty, Rick tearing off his clothes to reveal that he's jacked underneath (I guess he's still working on those abs? lol.) The new writers' influence is so blatant, and I don't think most of us are complaining.
And we saw Rick's favorite thing yet again: crystals. 💎✨ (Well, ore.) Someone needs to give him $100 and cut him loose in a New Age store for a couple of hours.
Tumblr media
I also want to note how much I love Justin Roiland's voice acting. Rick's voice is so complex and reflects his character development brilliantly. I hate how people dismiss Justin Roiland as a shouty guy who burps and yells into the microphone. Honestly, I don't hear Justin Roiland at all when Rick speaks--I just hear Rick.
Overall, Full Meta Jackrick was a decent return to the show after the six-week break. Those "Rick is a nihilist" YouTube videos need to go away forever because this episode's theme could have been "Nothing matters, we're just cartoon characters, blah blah," but it wasn't. Instead, Rick tells Morty that his life matters, and he looks at the audience as he says it.

i agree about his cartoon villainy, but it’s implied that the part about him taking bribes was made up. when martina mentions it, he says, “huh…?” and seems genuinely confused. then, when yomi says that must be why he was so desperate to clean up the nail man killings, seth says, “i only did this because you ordered me to.” he still plays at being a cartoon villain. he’s just not that good at it.
I don't think so!
Alright, since I've finally been presented an opportunity to do so, let me pull out the Seth crypts;
Tumblr media
While Seth not knowing anything about anybody at any time wouldn't be a completely unfounded statement -- we never do get concrete proof that he was in fact taking money from the church after all, and Halara themself said that "If director Yomi said so, it would be considered the truth even if it isn't". Buuut, there's far more evidence pointing to the contrary, actually.
First, going from the very beginning, let's take a look at what happened PRIOR to Seth's intervention at Yakou's doorstep -- mainly, Jiei Colan. This section's the shortest, I believe.
I. Jiei Colan's terrible, terrible day (As Seth once said: I didn't become the head of the investigations team by being a good person. You can tell your son he won't be having a christmas this year)
Jiei Colan was called the day (or night?) before his arrest to the Clocktower -- he got an urgent request to fix it, as the clock allegedly wasn't keeping time. We don't know who sent the request. He stayed the night at the Clocktower.
As mentioned earlier, who sent the request is a mystery, but it is pretty odd in just how convenient it is for everyone, and by that I mean the Nail Man and the peacekeepers. I believe it was pretty much apparent to most people that this was an attempt at framing Jiei; coincidences generally don't tend to exist in most of Kodaka's universes.
There's two most likely suspects for the urgent call directed to Jiei, if we're going along with the theory it was a plot: the Nail Man, the Worshipper/Copycat Nail Man, or the peacekeepers.
(Kei (aka, the boy), if I'm remembering correctly, said that his father left last night. The body Yuma investigated is as far as we know, pretty recent. I felt like I should put it out there, but I forgor the reason. whoopsie silly me heheh!!!)
Worshipper knows a lot about how the NM operates; usually his plan to "catch" him involves him following a person with their name written in the woods. Could he have tried to use the peacekeepers to remove a random poor guy so that the true NM continues to operate? Not impossible, but, I don't know. That doesn't sound... very likely to me.
The NM, aka the Priest, could potentially have a good reason to frame somebody, BUT isn't his whole thing that he kills people who Kanai Ward's citizens feel have somehow wronged them, you know, enacting justice and shit and all that. He intends to help people in that way. I don't think he'd throw an innocent man under the bus -- I watched the scene where he's informed it was the watchmaker that was arrested, and I still can't tell whether he was legitimately shocked to that information but attempting to keep his cool, or just pretending (which implies he did hear of the plan; that doesn't mean he necessarily approved).
And lastly, peacekeepers, the most likely candidate; they arrived very quickly at the scene, and have a personal interest in closing the NM case as quickly as possible by any means, and is just... come on, it's the peacekeepers, it's always the damn peacekeepers I swear. What supports this more than the claim Worshipper or the NM himself sent the request, is the fact that the peacekeeper's report on Jiei said that his occupation was unknown (he was a watchmaker. this isn't some classified information.), very likely to frame him even more easily. Shinigami herself points it out just how suspicious that is. And it's, as far as I'm aware by my own rc playthrough, what the game was pointing us towards.
If it's the peacekeepers, then that means at least one of them knew a murder was going to happen at the Clocktower. That would require [some guy] to know of the NM's plans -- aka, [that guy] was somehow affiliated with the church. Which would have been pretty easy, if they were, say, regularly taking bribes from it.
now, moving on to the flower scene...
II. Seth's first and second trip to the submarine (YAKOU GET YOUR FUCKING GOONS ASSEMBLED HERE RIGHT THIS INSTANT)
Seth and his peacekeeper squad approached (that is very polite wording) Yakou by his sub and inquired him about his detective agency's involvement in the NM case. He sounds pretty nervous about them sticking their nose into the case (and potentially finding something out), and even sets a time limit for Yakou to get his goons in there by that time OR ELSE. The time limit could be there not only just to scare Yakou into cooperating, but also because he needs those detectives taken into custody ASAP, as, as mentioned earlier, every second they walk around deducing shit, they could stumble upon something he does not want them to know.
Seth comes back sometime before the time limit runs out, probably to sit there with his bouquet and watch as Yakou's pacing in circles next to him using up all of his big boy strength to not drop on the ground and start scream crying in despair. Meanie. Yuma shows up, and tells Seth he was the one investigating the NM killings. Immediately, like, RIGHT AWAY, Seth says this:
Seth: Oh? I see... So... you're the one who interfered with our work at the clocktower. Well... I will honor your courage for confessing and turn a blind eye to that incident. You must drop this case. If you do... we will leave without pursuing any further action. That'd be the ideal solution for all of us... What do you say?
Seth didn't waste a second to offer the NDA complete exemption from consequences if they stop right now and shut up about the case forever. That is... very odd behavior from a man who just three hours ago threatened to kill Yakou (and, I believe, the other detectives by extension) for interfering earlier. It's almost as if something about that was sending him into an internal panic. I wonder what.
I think the fact that he was so quick to just... let everybody go upon meeting the guy who was investigating the killings if they just could please stop right now i'm begging you is what almost completely eradicates the possibility of Seth not knowing anything about the identity of the NM. That is not normal peacekeeper behavior, actually. He wanted to shut Yuma up as fast as possible by any means possible because if he did not stay silent, he could have uncovered something very, very incovenient and likely downright very dangerous for Seth.
Yuma, of course, doesn't want old man Jiei to go to a happy farm far away, and tells Seth he won't stop now. Seth now very quickly orders his guys to take Yakou away, deal's off. Then Yuma pulls out the "actually I investigated all the previous killings too did you know all (debatable) the victims died of strangulation", and Seth is visibly shitting himself right now and orders Yuma to ALSO get arrested good lord bowlcut makoto knows too much. Whatever. Then Halara happens. Then SHINIGAMI happens. And just a moment later...
III. Wake up babe the Nail Man just dropped (DEAD)
Priest & hot topic Darkiplier keel over and fucking die. Shinigami pilots the Priest's corpse like a mecha to make him confess; the scene is as follows -
"Priest": Ahem, sorry about that. You see, I'm actually the Nail Man.
Seth: Wh-What?
"Priest": [continues to explain; not that important to my point. she ends with telling them to check the church for evidence, then Shinigami leaves]
Seth: The priest... mumbled something, but I couldn't quite hear him. Anyway... (...)
When the Priest confesses, Seth is the only person in the group to respond, with his nervous sweating sprite, much less, which wouldn't mean much alone -- it's perfectly possible he was just shocked, is all. But considering EVERYTHING ELSE so far pointing towards him working with the Nail Man... it's looking very bad for you, mr. Seth.
Then Seth claims he couldn't hear him; which, bullshit, you literally responded. He clearly didn't want the priest's role as the NM to be known, and was about to leave without doing anything about it. Just before he can take the detectives to the headquarters, guess who shows up to save our asses last minute?
IV. Martina's testimony who I believe above all (ignore that fake ginger cunt behind her)
It's Martina, look at her! she shows up riding a fucking motorbike through the air like the coolest motherfucker in Kanai Ward right before Halara. Along with her passenger princess bf Yomi I guess. Well, she's the one that actually says Seth had taken bribes from the church. The convo is as follows:
Martina: We have discovered you've been receiving sizeable kickbacks from facilitating donations meant for the church.
Seth: Huh...?
Martina: We now know why you were so desperate to clean up all the Nail Man killings. After all, it would be troublesome to lose access to all that money if the priest was arrested as the Nail Man
Seth: W-Wait, please. Director Yomi, I did this under your orders... [...] I-I only did this because you ordered me to...
I don't think Seth's confusion here meant he didn't know what the hell was going on right then; but rather, because his boss just turned on him after (allegedly) giving him the thumbs up to take that bag.
In conclusion! Seth indeed, took that bag, and I am ruling him guilty guilty GUILTY and SENTENCING HIM TO... actually, I have no idea. Uh, sorry, I guess he can stay on home arrest until I think of something...
I hope that was coherent :3 croissant emoji🥐

I honestly laughed at your list and while a lot of them come with finding the humor in jack Harlow as a potential boyfriend (which I still don’t know if he’s even capable of that at this point) most of them even the ones that I laughed at were very accurate. I think the fame part will be piece of cake for her compared to everything else. Also didn’t he used to make a joke about liking the idea of having a girlfriend that would “beat the shit out of him”. He definitely needs someone strong enough to compete and with urban and Zion and Nemo and basically everyone in his life. The race thing is something i don’t necessarily feel the most comfortable with because after a while it just started to come off as weird. During one druski’s dating live stream urban was doing it he asked her I think if she was white because they were blind folded and he was like oh I don’t really date white girls anymore. I don’t remember word for word but it came out sounding like he was looking for it make him sound cool and cultured but it was so unnatural and forced. I felt like during chtkmy jack was pushing it real hard with race being the thing that stood out the most to him. At least guys who reduce women to their body and looks own it and know what they like, jack picks race like it’s a personality trait.
you think so (the fame part)? if they are not in the industry, i guess it would depend on how he approaches the fame part and explains it to her. going to use his love of privacy as an example, but if he's out here telling her she can't do this and post that, that may be something hard to adapt to. not saying he would do this, but i would just hope that the relationship wouldn't come with control and he lets her do her own thing. honestly, he needs to sit down with his person and discuss all of this stuff beforehand, so they are on the same page.
yeah, he did. it was one of his 10 question things.
Tumblr media
she's either going to have to be a a very social person or she's going to have to have very strong boundaries when it comes to his people and their ways. i agree. jack should shut up about the this whole race thing of his possible love interests / crushes. like nobody cares that you're into mixed girls in 2023. it's not some novel idea. it's giving "exotic" vibes.
as for urban, i don't even want to address his dating preferences. it's very clear that he fetishises asian / mixed race women, or those interested in asian culture - anime, cosplay, etc. australian girl was half asian, the next girl had big everything and now he's dating avanti who is into the cosplay and all of that. safe to say he has a type. he has also followed lots of girls who fit that mould in the past and he clearly is not hiding his interest.
Tumblr media
youtube
i remember that live stream. will link it above for anyone else. it starts at the 50 minute mark. quick break down: he's on a blind date with a girl and both of them are blindfolded.
** "doesn't have a type", likes big lips (true!!), "like some ass too, i can't lie", "every type, ethnicity or whatever … i stray away from white women these days". druski asks why he's not into white girls and urban says he "had a lot in his past … high school trauma". ** sex on a first date? yes. done it a few times. ** thick or petite? likes thick women, but not opposed to petite. mentions his love of lips again. ** head or penetration? "imma need both!". (???) ** body count? they were being counted down and were meant to say their body count together and he left her hanging and everyone went in on her and were basically shaming her for her "high" (18) body count. he goes onto say that his is higher than that, even if you doubled it. says he's lost count. ** the girl asks him if would it be an issue is she said the same (about losing count), tries to avoid answering, then says it might matter in atlanta (that's where she is from / i have no clue what this statement means. any atlanta folks in here?), then says that the past is the past. ** made a sex tape? "yeah, i have a few". ** has dated "like 3 girls" in his life. ** gets his ass ate, "that's all i need".
very misogynistic and sexist vibes from everyone asking questions and they would always focus on the girl. very shamey, but passing it of as "humour". urban was not involved in this, but didn't speak up either.

Pairing: Shayna Baszler x Reader Summary: You catch Shayna checking you out during your tag match
Whenever Hunter had pitched you the idea of a tag team, you had been skeptical. There were a lot of talented women on the roster, but that didn't mean you wanted to be thrown into a team with any of them. There weren't any women actively on Smackdown who you were allies with anyways. The only two that there had been were gone, not that you had been overly friendly with them the last time you'd seen each other. You weren't necessarily the treacherous bitch everyone saw you as, but you did what you needed to make your statement. You teamed up with people when it benefited you. If it had been anyone other than your boss telling you that you should give this tag team thing a try again, you'd have just laughed it off. Since it was Hunter, you agreed and now you were seriously regretting it.
Shayna wasn't going to do anything for your career that you couldn't do yourself. The two of you had very different wrestling styles and personalities. It felt like a last ditch effort to find something for the two of you to do, but you kept your mouth shut about it. At least you did until Shayna became your travel partner as well as your tag team partner. There was practically nothing in common between the two of you, both in the and out of it. Your car rides became silently switching the radio back and forth until it was ultimately turned off. The two of you were constantly at each other's throats, but nobody ever really did anything to separate the two of you. It was like they were all secretly amused by watching the two of you argue and get in each other's faces.
"Do not fuck this up for us." Was all that you had told Shayna before your match. It was a simple enough instruction. You had been winning all of the matches for your team over the past month and a half. Shayna was working with you, but also trying to take Ronda's championship which apparently took a lot of focus. Shayna's focus hadn't been on the tag team titles, which yours was. You knew that it wasn't an issue of disrespecting those titles, but rather that she wanted one for just herself even more. Still, Shayna had promised to help you get those titles. Now, the two of you were facing off against Damage CTRL for the titles.
It was supposed to be your moment. You had taken Bayley out, studied up on their tactics, and even worked with Shayna on some submissions. Losing wasn't your fault this time, even though you were the one who got pinned. Shayna had been distracted. With Bayley gone, that shouldn't have been an issue but it still was. You had debuted new gear which Shayna was apparently very interested in. A part of you was flattered, but you were also pissed about losing your shot at the titles. And when you got backstage, you let Shayna know exactly how you felt.
"If you could have stopped staring at my ass for more than ten seconds, we would be champions right now. God, why are you even my tag partner? I mean, you haven't contributed anything!" You didn't usually shout backstage, but you couldn't help yourself.
"Don't flatter yourself. I was not staring at your ass," Shayna scoffed. She was trying to dismiss your anger towards her, but you could see the embarrassment through her unbothered demeanor. She had been checking you out, which sort of made you feel good for some godforsaken reason. "Not everybody is smitten with you."
"I didn't say you were smitten with me, I said that you were staring at my ass. You totally were because I caught you doing it at least three times back there. Is that why you don't like me, because I'm hot?"
"I don't like you because you're a egomaniac. You being hot has nothing to do with me not liking you," Shayna said. You smiled smugly at her, glad that she had admitted that she found you hot. "T-that's not what I meant! Whatever, I'm getting out of here."
"She's so into me," you said to yourself as you watched Shayna walk towards the locker room. She could try to avoid you backstage all she wanted, but the two of you were still riding together.

I don't understand people's anger with his statement. he's been vocally pro-palestine for years and now I'm seeing people saying he's expressing neutrality?? it wasn't even neutral. it was condemning the actions of western countries feeding the pro-israel stance. it's an extremely nuanced issue and I feel like he was choosing his words very carefully for that reason.
also I hate trying to assume too much but his statement to me felt unfinished. i feel like hes probably being pressured to not be too outspoken right now because, like you pointed out, its dangerous. people have got to stop relying on celebrities to say perfect things and have all the right answers. it's obvious that he's pro-palestine! people are acting like his statement exists in a vacuum when it doesn't.
I know I said I will post these without commentary but I have a couple of things to add here:
I am not sure what people mean when they say he's been vocally pro-Palestine for years because I haven't seen that anywhere and I've been following him for years. If I'm missing something, please let me know. I know people have pointed out the "empire upon Jerusalem" and "occupier upon ancient land" lines in Swan Upon Leda, and those can definitely be interpreted as pro-Palestine, but they're not necessarily overt. There's wiggle room.
I also don't agree that it's a very nuanced issue at heart. At the core of it all it's settler colonialism. It's not a war, it's not a conflict, it's settler colonialism. Politically, that is complex to resolve, but at the heart of it it's very clear what we're dealing with here.
I will kind of agree with the second paragraph, though, about not taking the statement in the vacuum but I think that's a part of the issue.

Thanks for posting the previous question. I'm glad the conversation was there about it too. Maybe he has no choice but to be friends with this guy. He doesn't have a lot of power in the club. Especially now. And truth be told, everyone else around him is also doing the same, but is just not asked about it. How this situation is different (from the other where he is more open about rights etc) is that his social standing within the club could be affected, or his career, more so when the club has taken the same stance in promoting Boateng's fitness and quality. Leon's response particularly, seems to parallel that same narrative, so it might be media-trained. On the other hand, his views on general opinions have nothing to do with the club, and they cannot hold that against him, even if they disagree. Regardless. as disgusting as the allegations are, I don't think Leon is a person who would condone that type of behaviour. and I don't think it undermines the amount of work he's done for the world. and his own personal actions have been nothing but role-model-like. he made a very big mistake with his words here. but I don't think he's a bad person.
Whether you post this or not, just know it's okay to still be a fan of Leon for all that he's shown to be right now, and Bayern as well, if it brings you joy and comfort.
Thank you so much anon omg 🥹 I feel so fortunate. I know a lot of times the internet can be a hateful, unforgiving place, and that only makes me more grateful that here we have a place where we can discuss things like this critically, without biting each other’s heads off. You’re all remarkably kind, and I want to thank you for that. It’s a deeply important virtue, and it doesn’t go unnoticed. Thank you for making this space a safe one; that’s all I ever wanted when I made this blog 💜
You make very good points. Considering Leon’s performances last season, I do think he suffered a loss of favor within the club, at least to some extent. He’s slowly but surely gaining that power and influence back this season, but since favor is a fickle thing, perhaps he felt he couldn’t afford to swim against the current on this particular topic. It’s an interesting theory.
I’m glad you brought up the club’s position on Boateng as well. I mean, every time the media came knocking, they always cast him in a positive light, previous actions be damned. I think that influenced Leon’s responses. How could it not? It’s far from the same situation, but we saw what happened when Manu called out Bayern’s sacking of Toni Topalović; his career and standing within the club hung in the balance. Leon’s a smart guy; perhaps he thought it better not to risk that, especially when he was just starting to regain the club’s trust. For all we know, Leon may hold entirely different views on the matter, but he had to stick with a media-trained response in order to present a united front with the club, especially when his teammates were doing the same.
The more I’ve been thinking about this situation, the more I agree with you. I have to think that given everything that Leon stands for, he wouldn’t condone abuse and assault. He’s never struck me as that type of person, given how outspoken he normally is on matters such as this one. I think that’s what makes his statements so difficult to digest; they contrast so heavily with how we’ve all come to see him. A poor choice of words on the spot doesn’t necessarily make a bad person—at least, I don’t think it does in this case. It definitely doesn’t change all the good that’s stemmed from his social and political activism, and it doesn’t detract from everything he’s done in the community. There’s just no way. He’s still the same person that takes time for his fans whenever he can.
I don’t know if you knew this or not when you sent me this ask, but these are precisely the words I needed to hear right now. As silly as it might sound, I’ve been struggling tremendously with whether or not I want to continue posting Leon content. I just didn’t want to act like nothing happened and like I agree with his take on Boateng. But I think (or at least I hope) I’ve made that clear, and as disappointed as I am in him, at the end of the day, he’s still the guy that makes me smile the most—who’s still a (sometimes) overly serious little goofball. I’m not the type of person who can just set that aside. He still brings me tremendous comfort and joy, as does Bayern, and I won’t pretend that they don’t. If I did, I would be lying to myself as well as to all of you. I’m still a fan of Leon’s, and I just wanted to thank you for reminding me that’s ok 🥹❤️ I appreciate it more than you know, just as much as I appreciate you taking the time to write me this ask. You’re a true sweetheart, and I can’t thank you enough for just being you <3

*rattling a cup* more fallout thoughts please mx spiribia?
unfortunately the only one i played all the way through was fallout new vegas (which i liked a lot), so i don't have extensive insight into the series. to me, the protag of 4 felt much more like a preset character - she's a lawyer, a suburban mom with a husband who's a soldier (alternatively, that's you) and a baby, she has a robot butler, her house and all the decor inside it looks like this, her family paid so they could be in a vault during the apocalypse. she's fully voiced. unlike with previous fallouts, you don't even get to see the full sentence of the dialogue choice with its tone or phrasing - just a phrase alluding to the gist with varying degrees of clarity. so you don't fully dictate her statements - you don't even know what they are until she says them herself. in this screenshot, for example - not even to touch on the dialogue option that's unspecifically for being Sarcastic, "remind you?" (in response to "i'm keeping my promise") is short for "do i need to remind you why you made that promise in the first place?"
Tumblr media
i don't think an established character as a playable protag is necessarily even a bad thing, plenty of properties have that, but the fo4 protag toes this strange middle ground for me where they're both too defined for a character creator roleplay game character and yet also not committedly not-blank-slate enough to be a very compelling character all their own. not that the new vegas character was anything too crazy either, to be very clear, but there's a lot more leeway for crafting character in 'im a mailman with memory loss, for undetermined reason i'd agreed to deliver this chip'

Look I understand why you thought what Alice said in what seems to be a very old screenshot is problematic and I feel like I'm not gonna change your mind anyway but here's to trying.
Alice is aroace. They also never expected to influence people as much as they do now, they were just creating things they can relate to and ended up gaining a lot of following and success naturally, so they just weren't careful with what they used to say and weren't expecting people to screenshot old stuff and spread them around and believe they were twisting their mustache back then planning on world domination and on making everyone sexless lmao. They were literally just some guy on good old Tumblr doing things and saying stuff lol just like you.
People are allowed to not be interested in sex just like people are allowed to be interested in sex, and what they said is not completely untrue. Yes there is bl that isn't fetishizing and eroticizing and yes it's getting better, but they didn't say all of them are, they said they tend to be. And it was true. Doesn't mean they think they're better for doing something that pleased them more than erotic bl, it doesn't mean they don't want erotic things to exist, it doesn't even mean they don't enjoy stuff that has sex in it (they have recommended plenty of content that is very sexual in the past), just that they weren't interested in it and didn't want to create stuff like that, that's all.
And even then, Nick and Charlie do have sex. This was in her novels and it'll be in Heartstopper, it's just not explicit, because that's not the point of the story. It's not a story to make people horny, it's a story about learning and growing up and being yourself. It's really nothing to do with purity. It just resonates with people who aren't overly sexual because we just barely have queer stories that aren't overly sexual.
Saying they're racist is also a really huge stretch given they're obviously giving space for black and asian characters in their story. It's not gonna be as well done as if it was created by an asian or black person but they're clearly not racist.
Again, I do under where you're coming from, if they DID think they were better and wanted all shows to be sexless I would even agree with you, it's just not what they meant at all.
I'm answering this because I appreciate you being open-minded towards me as well. The screenshot is from around 2017, which while that is quite a while ago, they were still around 22 at the time, which I think does show that they deserve some grace in having the opinion they did/possibly still do. It's not necessarily my issue that they felt this way at that time, my concern comes from them not really addressing the statement in any way since then. Now, at 28 years old, if they felt differently, why not clarify? Especially considering that this is a topic that gets brought up regularly. Whether she chooses to double down on this opinion or express how her thoughts have changed in the last six years, I do feel that they are certainly aware that this is a concern people have.
I am also Ace, for clarity. I understand that having pieces of media based around romantic relationships SO heavily focus on the physical/sexual aspect is not something people want all the time. I'm not arguing that it's a necessary thing in all media, just that it shouldn't be demeaned, as it is a part of romantic relationships for a lot of people. I'm incredibly happy to see representation that I relate to in Loveless, it's a beautiful story and I think Alice is a really good author. I also believe that it's incredibly important to have queer media that can be rated PG or PG-13 available so that kids have an opportunity to see queer stories. Having that type of media exist means that any kid can enjoy these stories and develop empathy for queer people, as well as potentially explore their own queerness at an age appropriate level.
I 100% agree that HS doesn't need explicit sex, I state that in my original post. It would be out of place for multiple reasons in the universe that Alice created. I would like to say though, that explicit scenes in media of any type are not always included with the purpose of making someone horny. Can they be? Sure. But they can also be included as a way of further exploring the personal connection between characters, to add detail to the growth of their relationship, depth to their characters. In visual media specifically, it's important to SHOW growth as opposed to just saying it's happening. Written work gives us a lot more insight into characters thoughts and feelings, but that's limited in visual media, and seeing how characters interact in intimate scenes is a way to show internal feelings.
As for the last point about racism, I do not think Alice is overtly racist. I appreciate the diversity of her characters, but the inclusion of diverse characters doesn't automatically indicate a lack of racist ideology. JKR is a prime example. Do I think they were being intentionally racist? No. But subconscious racism and biases will ALWAYS be present in white people. It's literally something you have to actively work against. And while they may not have seen their comments then as being potentially harmful or racist, that doesn't mean they are not. Your intentions do not dictate how your words are received or the level of harm they can have. Making blanket statements as a white person about an entire genre that is created and developed by non-white people stereotypes that media and is racist. While Alice at that time may never have imagined the reach her words would have, they still said them, and they have the ability now, with an even greater scope of influence, to express any potential changes in their thoughts regarding things like BL.

This is gonna sound very silly but are there any books on belief in a higher power that isn’t of a major religion? I’ve always felt that there’s something greater than us, but all of the omni- stuff (like omnipotent) never made sense to me. Like I don’t necessarily believe that the higher power is “more powerful” than us as humans or even animals but rather we all move another state of being—this state not being “better” or “worse” (so no heaven or hell.) Even though I don’t plan on having kids, the fact that women can can bear children like stupidly links to the existence of a something out there for me. The fact that we can draw atoms and put them together to create life is insane to me. Sorry this was so rant-y, and thanks for all the stuff you’ve already posted ❤️
hi love, i'm not that well-read on spiritual books which is also one of the reasons i made this book club lol. i want to branch out into more witchy and spiritual books in general. i agree with the annoyance of talking to people who are religious who always claim that there's always a "higher, more powerful" power out there who has like "created us" or controls the universe. the universe to me is the highest power, but we are all a part of the universe and a reflection of it on earth. how are we more powerful than ourselves? just seems silly to me. and yeah the creation of life and the cycle of life is a beautiful, magical thing. i'm not sure what counts as a "major religion" to you, but you could definitely just try reading different books on dif cultures spirituality and beliefs and see what clicks for you and feels the most "true" to you. pagan and eclectic spirituality is a very wide net, so yeah, go poke around it.
your general statements remind me of when my grandfather was going through a phase after my grandmother passed away and was really into finding peace through other beliefs that weren't just "she's in heaven" that catholicism says. he needed a more like sustainable understanding of the cycle of life and death, so he read a lot of interesting stuff from celtic mythology and spirituality if that's somewhere you'd wanna start. i don't remember the specific books he read, this was like seven years ago sadly. but i think you could try finding books about that sort of theme and see where it leads you.

Forging Ties - Chapter 35 - Part 1
Tumblr media
*Warning Adult Content*
"So," Hamish said after they were out of earshot of the others.
"How are you feeling now that you're back?"
"Better," Duran admitted as they reached the base of The Spire and continued on down the hill. "It's hard to even remember what I was feeling before and why. I felt so isolated and suffocated all at once. Now I think it was just… feelings. Not necessarily much to do with how things were."
"That makes sense. You had a lot to process."
"Hmm," Duran agreed. "And I still do. I know that. I just feel like… I don't know. Like I've built a bit of a base under myself. A sense of identity. I don't think I'll be as easily knocked off balance. The more I know who I am and the more comfortable I am in that, the more stability I'll have in my life."
"That makes sense."
Hamish gave the trunk of the first tree they passed a firm pat and they continued on into the sparse woods that bordered The Spire to the north.
"And honestly, that takes a while for anyone. I'm not saying the whole thing isn't a million times harder for you but trust me, at your age I just had no idea. I didn't even think about identity or any of that. Honestly, I barely had any concept of that deeper sense of self. Maybe that's just me, though. Simon's always been the more introspective one, even if he does let his emotions get to his head sometimes."
"I barely left my room for a year. I've spent more than enough time in my own head."
A narrow, gentle creek cut a path through the trees, meandering its way down to flow into the ocean beyond.
Hamish crouched to wash his hands and face in the clear water.
Duran knelt down on the bank next to him and drank the water.
There wasn't much danger of it making him sick like it might Hamish. Duran sighed and sat back on the pebbly bank.
"Can't believe you lured me into another conversation about my feelings by promising me dick."
"Why do you think I brought you out here? A private room's hard to come by but there's endless nature which is... mostly private."
"Well, Danya said he was going to go and round the kids up for school, so if they get an eyeful because they're dodging classes, that's their own fault."
"A fitting consequence."
"Half my classes were sex ed."
When Hamish made a face, Duran laughed.
"I'm kidding. Well, no, it was a factual statement but. You know."
"When I'm about to suck your dick isn't the time I prefer you to bring it up."
"Oh, you are, are you?" Duran gestured to his crotch. "Get to it, then."
"Hmm..." Hamish said, considering Duran and then their surroundings.
"Stand up. You can lean against a tree."
"My own tree?" Duran said as he stood and stretched his arms over his head. "You do know how to spoil a man."
"Shush. I'll spoil you just fine."
Duran picked a tree and folded his arms as he leant back against it.
"Show me, then."
Hamish let out a sharp exhale, grinning as he shook his head.
"That way you look at me sends a jolt right to my cock."
"Yeah, I figured that one out early when I was just legitimately fed up with you and I noticed you were suddenly looking at me with a whole lot more interest."
"What can I say?" Hamish said as he dropped to his knees in front of Duran. "I appreciate an assertive man."
Duran slid his fingers through Hamish's loose chocolate curls, slightly wet in the front from when he'd washed his face in the creek.
Hamish nudged Duran's crotch with the point of his nose, looking up at him with brown eyes with, Duran was only just noticing, just a hint of green in them.
Duran wouldn't have described Hamish as pretty or effeminate, not with his confident jawline that seemed in a constant battle with the stubble that wanted to overtake it that would quite happily grow into a thick beard if Hamish ever gave it a chance.
No, not pretty but he was more beautiful than most men.
"Take your shirt off," Duran murmured and Hamish held eye contact as he unbuttoned his shirt and slipped it over his shoulders, revealing swathes of caramel skin and well toned muscle.
Hamish's skin was like a tapestry with stories told in scars.
Duran's body told some stories of its own but he was looking forward to Fanner wiping that canvas clean.
Maybe one day Duran would lay down with Hamish and have him tell the story of every scar.
But not today.
Hamish was still using his nose to tease at the front of Duran's pants, a sly smile on his face and Duran's cock had started to take notice.
"I mean, it's a strategy," Duran commented. "Are we going to sit here and see how far you can get with that or are you going to get my cock out?"
"So impatient," Hamish said as he slowly popped the buttons open on Duran's pants.
He pressed his face against Duran's exposed underpants and breathed in.
"I love the smell of good, clean dick so much. Boner smell. A hard dick has a special scent to it."
"Hmm," Duran said. "And how about that taste, huh?"
Hamish snickered, his face still pressed close to Duran's crotch.
"You really are eager today. It hasn't been that long since our fun beach day."
"Long enough."
"True. I agree."
Hamish slid Duran's underpants down, finally freeing his cock from their confines.
Soft lips teased up Duran's shaft and then wrapped around the head of Duran's cock, gently exploring as they drew him deeper into Hamish's mouth.
"Touch yourself too," Duran said as Hamish swallowed him down. "You know I want more from you than just to get off."
ow about a kiss to help me out?"

and there’s no way i’m stopping (it’s like nobody’s watching)
Part: 1/3
Also on [AO3]
Warnings: None
~=~
“It’ll make a statement,” Al-Haitham says. His face is neutral, but his eyes glint with mischief. “The order restricting the Akademiya’s progress, hand in hand with the chaos disrespecting its existence. In defiance to everything their institution stands for.”
Nilou would never agree, Cyno opens his mouth to say. Nilou is faster: “I wouldn’t mind.”
That’s…that’s a surprise. He knows he is hardly the most approachable, and Nilou always seemed easy to intimidate. But when he looks her way, her shoulders are set and her chin held high. He can respect that kind of bravery.
Even if it’s out of the question. “I don’t know how to dance.”
“I could teach you.” Her voice doesn’t even waver. “I think you’d learn quickly.”
And that eliminates all the barriers, doesn’t it? Cyno examines it from all corners, looking for a disadvantage. So far, he sees none. He has no respect for the current sages, and thus no fear of losing their respect. He has always found the restrictions on the arts to be unrelated to the original six sins, and nonsensical besides. And, and…
…And it would be new. Interesting. Fun.
“Then I have no objection,” he says. Nilou seems stunned, but also hesitantly thrilled. The Traveler is diplomatically looking at the opposite wall. No one seems to necessarily mind.
Except Al-Haitham. The look on his face is priceless. Cyno will have to preserve it in his memory.
~=~
Cyno’s apartment isn’t just small, dingy, and barely lived in. It feels that way, too, and while before he’s never minded, now it grates against his sensibilities as Nilou follows him inside. She’s not rude, she doesn’t say a word about it, but, but. Cyno feels self-conscious, and it’s not a feeling he enjoys.
Still, it's the best location. Zubayr Theater is too open. Cyno’s apartment is small and private, and few realize where it even is. He's never made a habit of advertising the safest place he goes to when he's injured or unwell or just plain tired .
(He wonders if Nilou realizes what he's trusting her with)
“We can clear some of the furniture,” he says. “Then the living room will be big enough.”
Nilou nods. There's a bag in her hands that she's been carrying ever since they left the theater. She fidgets with it now. “I brought dancing clothes,” she says, “in your size, I think, and in purple. Easier to move around in. But I'm not sure if you would…”
You don't have to , every part of her exudes. But Cyno does not see the shame in trying something new, in breaking societal conventions - and this is all about new experiences. “Show me?” he asks, instead.
For some reason, that makes Nilou smile. Her movements are energetic, enthusiastic, as she lays out swathes of purple, glittery fabric, lined with gold. She drapes them over the back of the sofa, color drowning the drab grey, and something in Cyno’s stomach twists, not with familiar anxiety, but with something unfamiliar and sparkling just like the fabric.
“Let’s see if they fit,” he says, and if his voice sounds slightly strangled, neither he nor Nilou comment on it.
~=~
The fabric is sheer, and clingy, and it moves with him and ebb and flows like air. He feels oddly exposed, vulnerable, fingers itching for his polearm. Instead, to distract himself, he turns towards the mirror.
And stops.
He looks…different. Softer , he’s heard some people use, but softer isn’t right, Cyno could never possibly look soft . Different, however. Red glare filtered through his long hair like his body is filtered through this new, strange clothing. Cyno has never cared overly much about his own reflection, but for some reason he can’t look away. There’s a bubbly feeling in his chest, light and sparking, that he’s not sure he’s ever felt before.
Nilou’s voice is laced with worry. “Oh, oh dear, is it overwhelming? You can take it off, I’m sorry -“
A word, filled with a feeling he can’t name, spills out before he can stop himself: “ No .”
(The bubbly feeling is overwhelming, but Cyno never wants to let go of it again)
He clears his throat, trying to regain some self-control. He still can’t look away. “There’s nothing to ad dress, ” he says. “I feel perfectly fine. Better, even.”
The tension eases, Nilou giggling at the joke. Her eyes in the mirror are filled with nothing but warm understanding, and something in his heart, worried, wary, falls silent.
And when Nilou takes his hand and leads him into his tiny, claustrophobic living room, Cyno’s feet are lighter than they’ve been in years.
~=~
“You need to trust yourself,” she says. “You have the balance and the coordination and the rhythm. You just need to put it all together, and trust that you can.”
His feet feel - not clumsy, but hesitant and slow. She takes his hand, and her eyes are filled with the purest patience. “Follow my movements,” she says. “Don’t worry about mistakes. Just keep going.”
She moves, feet light. He tries to follow, tries to mimic that airy quality, and then her arm swings to the side, and he follows, and his balance trembles -
“Eyes on me.” Her voice is warm. “Eyes on me. Just keep going.”
It feels strange, but not bad. It feels new, but not wrong. It feels unique, and ephemeral, and like a dream, as floaty as the clothes clinging to him, and yet it feels like he’s been made complete .
(When was the last time he’s dreamed?)
Trust yourself. Eyes on me. Follow the rhythm. Like an atrophied muscle finally being used, like a long lost sense coming to life, like a part of himself he didn’t know existed. He stumbles, and Nilou laughs. He tries again, and succeeds, and she laughs again. “You’re getting it!”
Something clicks in his mind. He shifts his stance like he’s doing drills. He twists his core, his spine, like he’s sparring. And, all of a sudden, the puzzle pieces built from combat connect into a new picture. Fighting is an art, he realizes. Fighting is my art. How did I never realize?
This time, when Nilou reaches for him, he can reciprocate. When she moves, he can echo her. The calm to her storm. The order to her chaos. Harmony in opposites, as they whirl and spin and twist and turn.
The Akademiya, he thinks, is not prepared for this.
They’re not prepared for us.

Blood Vengeance being a bad movie is just expected tbh... because even in the games itself Tekken's story and writing just isn't good. It only excels at what Namco already excels, like the animation or fighting scenes (even if it's not your cup of tea).
The focus on Xiaoyu and Alisa's friendship is a thing in actual games too in the TTT2 endings of Xiaoyu, Miharu, Alisa, and Panda though? Ending movies aren't always about fighting.
Yeah but like I wasn't solely criticizing BV for not having enough fights. In fact, it could've been something that's just a slice of life for funsies, and I wouldn't care as long as it was entertaining. The problem with BV is that it felt more slice of life-y but lacking the humor good slice of life animes have. There was some silly things in BV, but overall it wasn't that entertaining. I couldn't find myself caring about Shin or the mystery revolving him. Especially after it turned out he was just a plot device to get the Three Mishimas to fight. I've actually given BV credit to the characterizations of Xiao and Alisa. Xiao wasn't a complete airheaded yandere, and Alisa had more character in it than she does in Tek6. However... a movie dragged out about their friendship just didn't have much going for it imo when it was lacking the humor Lucky Star had, and the drama just didn't have the same weight Clannad carried.
Also my point was by saying "it's a Slice of Life" thing wasn't necessarily to say that's a bad thing. But because they were so focused on Alisa and Xiao's relationships, that we never got to see much of the Mishimas or their motivation and story, that when they do get shoehorned in at last moment - it just makes the story awkward. Like as I said, it felt like they wanted it to be a slice of life, but also knew people wanted to watch fighting and the Mishimas like the video games had. The story felt slightly confused with itself, I guess I was trying to say. Hence why I also said it lacked direction. Which is more of my critique than the "lack of fighting".
And finally, wanted to say that the game endings not always being about fighting... isn't comparable. Of course, the cutscenes aren't always gonna involve fighting. But the majority of the game is STILL fighting. Most of it is STILL watching fights because you're playing them, then there are cutscenes where fighting is indeed involved. Therefore, saying cutscenes that are minutes long not having fight scenes isn't comparable to saying that justifies a whole movie not having many fight scenes. Especially when you compare it to the 90s Mortal Kombat movie, and even the Tekken 2010 movie - no matter how bizarre these examples are, they still were action movies based on fighting games with... a good amount of fighting.
BV is bad because it's boring, Shin is boring, it has ridiculous scenes, Jin's characterization and motives are horrible, the devil designs suck and are too fantastical for my tastes, the writing often feels lacking, it feels like it's lacking direction, and so on.
Anyway! I'm not sure if this was intended as a "gotcha" by bringing up the games having something I was complaining about or if you were just simply pointing something out. Buuuut... I just wanted to express my thoughts regardless, and why I don't necessarily agree with these statements.

'I feel sorry for the fans. They are being played like this.'
Clearly, this Anon is not a fan. Whatever the truth is in this situation, statements like the above are entirely selfish imo. All about the fans and how they feel. I'm not a KPopper, I only listen to BTS and Tae is clearly my bias. I'm not taking into account my feelings on the matter cause it's not my life nor my relationship. I'm going to keep supporting Tae. People need to move on from the are they or aren't they. Tae has never lied to us as fans and I think he is the best at setting boundaries. He is loud in who he loves, ARMY, members, and Wooga. Sadly, some OT7 Army don't deserve him cause they are the ones leading the ot6 agenda on their side accounts. None of these guys are virginal angels, like some would like to believe.
Rant over. I know this is a TK space but I felt I needed to share my thoughts whether you post or not. No matter Tae's truth when and if revealed, I will strongly be supporting him.
Hey anon, even if it's not Taekook related, I'm also Tae biased so I'm always up for talking about him ☺
Not to play Devils Advocate here, but I can understand why fans would be upset and feel played by this Taennie thing. The whole thing is weird and confusing. But since we don't really know what's going on, because we can only speculate, it's not necessarily accurate to say fans have been "played."
But it's not like the boys (MEN) of BTS don't know how invested ARMY are in what we know of their real lives. No matter how they portray themselves, we feel like we know them. Even if what we know is all a show and not even legit in the first place. But BTS have always made ARMY such a huge part of their success. They wax poetic about us. They write songs about us. They interact with us on social media. Of course there's going to be this large faction of the fandom that feels like the relationship (parasocial) is valued and important not just for them but for BTS too. So when something like this situation with Taennie comes along, there's going to be some betrayal felt, even if it's not fair to Tae to feel that way. Because, yes, I agree that we should support him and whatever his relationship is.
But it's not necessarily about the relationship, nor who the relationship is with, but how it's all been handed to the fans. If this Taennie thing is real, i'm sure there's a group of fans who would have liked to learn this new development differently. But I also don't think there was any perfect way to do it. No matter how it could have been handled, there was going to be some really unhappy fans no matter what.
Okay, enough of MY rant, lol!
As for how I feel, I like to believe that Tae shows us a lot of who he really is, or tries to. I think it matters to him what we, as fans, think of him. But you're right, he knows how to set the boundaries, and he's never done anything to make us lose faith in him or lose trust in him. That's why I feel like there's a purpose behind this whole thing. Regardless, I love that man no matter what.
