Old language habits.
_____________
Sam felt lighter then air this evening.
Waking up to the smell of burning candles is something he’ll have to get used to, but he doesn’t really care about that right now.
He sat up from the ground he was sleeping on and yawned, stretched his limbs and stood up before starting to climb out from the well his restless spirit rests until nightfall.
By the time he got out of the dried up well he immediately went to the unmarked grave yard to say hello to the only people he can talk to. The weavers siblings.
At first he didn’t think he’d ever get used to them, but after some months? He did and it didn’t seem that bad anymore. When he saw the siblings chatting away about who knows what, he greeted them like he normally does… except-.
“Buenos dias-.”
He says before slapping his hand against his mouth. Each weaver turned towards Sam with either a confused look or a shocked expression on their face. Sam gulped, chuckling a bit as he played it off as it was nothing.
“S-sorry, force of habit.” Was all he said before dashing out of there like he was being chased all over again, minus the candle… and being alive.
By the time he went back into the well, he was frantically panicking. ‘What the hell was that?!’ He thought, panicking and pacing all over again. Sometimes he wished he’d never speak his familial language.
But it’s a language he grew up with because of his abuela… and he just said ‘good morning’ in Spanish in front of 5 siblings from the 1920’s. ‘Why! Why! Why!!’ He thought, pacing around in a circle. “Why the hell did I let it slip!”
And just like that, he decided to try not to speak his native tongue…
Easier said then done when you’re frustrated. “¿Cómo es el amigo de este Duncan?” Sam wondered, mumbling to himself while shaking his head. “What?” Sam’s eyes widened at the response.
He slowly turned his head to see Tom, tilting his head to the side. “N-nothing! Just talking to myself.” He stammered, hoping he doesn’t need to explain what he said. “Oh, ok then…” Tom said, turning away from the redhead.
When Sam was about to do the same, Travis said something… and Sam just snapped.
“To be honest, summoning you five was the best thing to ever happen before dying.” “¡¿Él hizo qué?! ¡¿Este idiota hizo qué?!”
Sam yelled, completely ignoring his own English dialect. “¡¿que estabas pensando, Meterme con los no-muertos?! ¡¿De verdad?!” He yelled at Travis, completely upset that Travis messed with something he shouldn’t have.
And with every word Sam says in his grandmother’s native tongue, Travis looks more nervous as he backs away into the old couch. After a few swears at Travis and calling him an idiot Sam took a deep breath and left.
“I Really need some space.” Sam said, slipping back into English and walked off, leaving the weavers confused and Travis shaking.
‘… slipped in my grandma’s language again.’ He thought, mentally face palm at himself for doing that. ‘Welp, now they know… fantastic.’
He sighs, climbing back down the well, he doesn’t know how long he’ll be down there for.. but he knows it’s for a long long time. He stretched his limbs and yawned. ‘Wow, yelling in my family’s language took a lot out of me.’
He thought to himself as he lay down and let sleep over-came him.
_____________
I was actually planning this before hand..
but was a little nervous because I didn’t know much about Spanish… only the easy ones I’ve known from watching Dora, some things I learned from fanfic where a character speaks Spanish… most of it was also google translate-.
Then I got inspired by a post made by @lorinstella who talk about how the weaver fandom didn’t really have an ethnic, racial… nationality and some representation so… I thought I’d finally post this after so long…
(I don’t think I did the language justice.)

Note
I just had a thought.
Each weaver sibling (except Tim) has a rhyme sung by Lilian, each having a clue based on how each sibling died. Even though sam’s death is the most recent... he might have a rhyme too.
Yet... I’m torn between two rhymes. London bridge (Sam falling down the well) and Mary Mary quite contrary (sam being the 7th missing persons report?)
I know he doesn’t really count but he’s buried next to the weavers... that’s gotta count right? Unless there’s a better rhyme for Sam’s death then I’m all ears... if that’s ok?
This made me want to download Wick again.
I'm now curious about this.
Sam's arm does appear in the well so it could be London Bridge, Mary Mary quite contrary seems like it doesn't fit to me.
which rhymes are used and who are they for?

Finished my Epic Seven S/I! Information below cut(its a lot lol):
Weapon: Staff/Scythe
Class: Soul Weaver - transformation
Self imprint: attack %
Group imprint: health %
Abandoned at a young age Lillian grew up helping those she could to do what wasn’t done for her. When her loved ones are threatened she transforms into a more aggressive and energetic version of herself. She seeks to find out who her true family is, Lily is currently traveling the land in search of them.
On her journey she runs into Taeyou who is on a destructive path to collect all four seasons' swords. Almost fighting due to his nature she stops him to see if he needs help which he repeatedly tells her no. Feeling like his path can only end in ruin Lily follows alongside a reluctant Taeyou on his journey, postponing her own to help him.
Skills:
Lillian
Skill 1: Lillian attacks with her staff. This heals the ally with the lowest HP and boosts the combat readiness of the same ally by 15%. This skill scales off the casters attack. This skill provides one Focus.
Skill 2: Lilian uses her magic to protect her allies. This skill cleanses 1 debuff before providing all allies with a barrier for 2 turns and provides hearts warmth for 2 turns. Hearts warmth increases the users damage by 10% and allows the user to heal based off damage dealt. This skill generates two focus.
Skill 3: This skill is only usable at max (5) focus. Lillian’s magic becomes overwhelming causing her to transform into Kitty Lillian. This heals Kitty Lillian to max HP and grants an additional turn.
Magical Cat Lilian
Skill 1: Magical Cat Lillian attacks an enemy with her scythe.  If any ally has ‘hearts warmth’ this skill attacks twice more. This skill heals the lowest health ally proportional to the damage dealt and increases their combat readiness by 10%. Consumes 1 focus. soulburn 20 souls This skill attacks twice more.
Skill 2: Magical Cat Lillian attacks all enemies with her scythe. For each ally that has ‘hearts warmth’ this skill penetrates the enemies defense by 10%. Additionally heals all allies proportional to damage dealt. Consumes 2 focus.
Skill 3: Magical Cat Lillian consumes the rest of her focus to change back to Lillian and triggering an effect based off the amount of focus consumed.
5 focus consumed - Cleanses allies of all debuffs and fully heals the two allies with the lowest HP.
4 focus consumed - Attacks all enemies setting their combat readiness to zero. Ignores effective resistance if more than one ally has ‘hearts warmth’. Additionally penetrate the enemies defense by 20%.
3 focus consumed - Attacks a single enemy penetrating their defense by 80%. If this kills an enemy grant an additional turn.

I have been unable to rest until i actually finished these sketches of my Ananasi boy, Caiden
He is a Secean (Tenere Mymidon, aka Weaver Aligned Warrior caste of the werespiders) who only went through his Metamorphosis (=First Change) not too long ago. Neither he nor his family knew anything about changing breeds as he was adopted, but luckily for him young Ananasi get instructed by fellow werespiders :p
not sure im completely satisfied with his Lilian form, but the original sketch has literally bin in my WIP folder for years and i finally want to get it out of my head so there you go
EDIT: added a tweaked Lilian form for him, I like it better this way. more spider-like >:3c

EXTRA INFORMATIONS
as i write her, i’ll dump here some infos \ hcs that are important to know before approaching her.
she was named after william blake by her father adam, an english teacher, who was an avid fan of his works;
although she has no religious belief nor training whatsoever, mina is a talented conjurer and exorcist, on the other hand, however, she still refuses to practice possession.
mina’s soul is torn between two extremes: her powerful, demoniac side, that tempts her to follow her darkest thoughts and her mortal, human side, that has a solid sense of duty and justice.
the circunstances of her husband’s passing are...shady, to say the least, she later finds out that he was possessed by one of belial’s followers;
the rift in the cult both her mother and husband were members reflects the war that starts to brew in hell, with both beelzebub and belial trying to take lucifer’s place && rise as the king of hell, hence why it is mandatory that the anti christ dies before his birth;
mina’s twin was stillborn, his death was caused by umbilical cord strangulation, perhaps caused by mina’s demoniac half;
whilst she does not know how to control her gifts, mina discovers at young age that somehow, she can get any fly to do what she desires. it later comes in hand, when she works on her gift to the point where she is able to control a swarm of flies and, much later, even shape shift into one.
she has no plans of killing the unholy child, but she knows she has to put an end on this madness, the fact that she’s merely considering this eats her alive as it goes against her honour.
WARNINGS !
this character, although good hearted, belongs to a violent universe. her views \ actions are not the same as the mun. do expect violence, adult themes and toxic relationships\behaviours, mentions of rituals, occultism and satanism as well other religions to be mentioned \ played here. as usual, everything will be tagged accordingly so you can blacklist. i will simply delete anon hate.
CREDIT
this character belongs to me and the universe i’m slowly developing. i claim full ownership with the character yet no affiliation with the faceclaim here listed above. however, i do claim ownership of my personal headcanons written here as well my interpretation of the character. all rights go the actual owners

Random headcanon’s, because I can
Coming soon.
___________________
To be fair, I was kind of getting really board and I wanted to bring out some of my wick/wick au headcanon’s in… but I’m just too much of an anxious scaredy-cat to post them on here. So, I thought I’d make this a fun little thing!
I post a completely random headcanon with the title of what au I have that’s just waiting in the drafts collecting dust.
And if it isn’t too much trouble? I’d like some feedback as well… or not, that’s ok too.

The weavers and James reactions to Tom dating a boy *cough* Sam *cough* instead of a girl.
Mary: ridiculous! No son of mine will date boys as long as I live-!
John: Huh, your mother won’t approve... but I’m not stopping you.
James: *constantly preying to the lord above for Tom to be “cured” of sin*
Benny: ... did you lose faith in the lord?
Tim: YES!! FINALLY!! TOM HAS JOINED THE DARK SIDE!!!
Caleb: *tries to play it cool but is just as flabbergasted*
Lilian: *is just happy that Tom is happily in love*
(Ok not gonna lie, I’ve always wanted to write all that, especially Tim yelling that whole sentence. So, I wrote it on here to see if you like it... kind of... I hope you’re not annoyed by this-.
Anything you ask me will never get me annoyed, Mossy, feel free to ask whenever you please!
Tom would hide the fact that he is dating Sam, I would imagine.
Tim would be the first to find out, only because the twins don't hide much from each other. He would be quite happy for his twin.
Lillian would has Sam if they're dating while Sam babysits her, it would take some bugging for Sam to answer and Lillian would be extremely happy.
Caleb and Benny...I'm not sure how they would find out. But they would be confused and a little surprised.
Mary would instantly think Tom was dating a woman when the name "Sam" since that's often a nickname for "Samantha" but would feel a little shocked with the fact he's dating a guy.
John would be the first adult he told and he would be a little happy, even if he has to listen to Mary's bitching for the next few weeks about that.
John would also think Sam is a girl just by the name until Mary explain Sam is a guy, not a girl, and he would be just as disappointed with both Tom and Sam.
~~~
A little added bonus on Sam's side.
Travis would questions Sam's standards (like he has any) but would be happy for Sam nonetheless.
Duncan Would just be like "dude, he tried to kill you, remember?"
You may have heard whisperings about which places offer the most spectacular wildlife experiences but we can tell you that it’s certainly difficult to beat Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is linked to the Zambezi River, which feeds a network of wildlife watering holes as well as nesting sites. So pack in your binoculars and telephoto lenses to get ready for the over 350 bird species flitting through Mana Pools.
Banks of the River
The southern carmine bee-eater is a colourful bird and one of three bee-eaters, including the white-fronted bee-eater, that are commonly found in the area. These small birds live in holes created in the sand of the river banks where they nest. You can see these little creatures up-close while canoeing or kayaking along the waters. If your camp happens to be on the river banks, you may even be lucky enough to glimpse an owl or two, particularly Pel’s fishing owl and the Verreaux’s eagle-owl (otherwise known as the giant eagle-owl).
One of the most popular birds to spot on the Zambezi is the African fish eagle that swoops down over the waters in search of fish, as its name suggests. The African skimmer, on the other hand, breeds on the exposed sand banks from April to December. Other birds to look out for include the spur-winged plover and the red-billed quelea.
If you’re lounging at camp there’s also a good chance of seeing the purple-banded sunbird, the white-bellied sunbird and (although on much rarer occasion in mid-summer) Shelley’s sunbird. These small birds are known for their glossy, almost metallic feathers that make them easy to spot, though their size makes them difficult to photograph.
The Woodlands
Another large predatory bird to look out for is the Ayres’s hawk-eagle which resides in the Nyamatusi Wilderness Area and boasts a wingspan between 55 and 65cm in length. Also in this region is the the Livingstone’s flycatcher that frequents the banks with cooler riverine temperatures but lives higher up in the trees.
Smaller birds living in the Mopane woodland include Arnot’s chat and the racket-tailed roller which sports a stunning baby-blue front. Some exquisite finds would be Lilian’s lovebird (flaunting bright green and orange plumage), the red-throated twinspot (showcasing a peculiar mix of red feathers and white-on-black polka dots) as well as the black-throated wattle-eye (with a red ‘eye-shadow’ effect to match its name).
Book your trip to Mana Pools National Park where you’ll discover a plethora of colourful and enchanting birds, completing a once-in-a-lifetime wilderness experience made for safari-lovers everywhere. It’s also a wonderful idea to bring a guidebook along for children to check off their sightings. Read a personal account of the park experience on our blog to find out more.
