SPY × Family: Chapter 94 analysis unhinged thoughts
hello hello! i am back with my thoughts for the latest chapter! please note that there are spoilers ahead for chapter 94! (Long-ish post incoming?)
Okay, so I loved this chapter. I'm a person who loves locked room murder mystery type stories, so this definitely scratched that itch for me. Obviously, I'm biased.
Analysis (of sorts?):
Right off the bat I can say that this chapter isn't really oriented on emotions or certain character dynamics. It is pretty plot heavy (but. not to the main plot. this chapter in itself has a plot to its own, but I really really liked it).
So the chapter starts with Bondman facing off an enemy in a snowy mountain...
Tumblr media
which, of course, inspires Anya to have an adventure of her own. She asks Loid to take her skiing, only to be flatly denied...
BUT! Agent Anya has tricks up her sleeve (threatening to cry), and that works on our dear, super-spy Agent Twilight (he's so weak and stupid y'all.)
side note:
Tumblr media
he thinks he's soooo cool. he's not.
Anyway, we get Twilight trying to explain skiing to Yor, which... fails, kinda. we also get gymnastics from Yor, (SHE's the cool one), and a half-baked explanation from her about learning all that from a gymnastics teacher.
The Forgers are trapped in a snowy blizzard, which leads them to take refuge in a lodge. They meet a group of young college students, who regale them with a tale of a bloody snowman who kills people in the dark.
Tumblr media
Might just be me, but this design reminds me of Type-F from the new Code White movie (note: this isn't exactly a spoiler, I haven't seen the movie, but this is what's on the wiki and in the trailers). The snowy backdrop + this Type-F-esque design might be a homage to the movie? Probably just me, though, haha.
Anyway, onto the main focus of the story (kidding, it's not):
Tumblr media
WE COULD'VE HAD IT ALL..... YOR AND LOID SLEEPING ON THE SAME BED.... WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN....
(jk, it probably wouldn't have happened, but a girl can dream)
Tumblr media
"Eh, why not?" Certainly, these words CANNOT exist in the vocabulary of THE Agent Twilight! Perhaps.... no, it can't be... he's finally RELAXED for once? Feeling secure enough to ASSESS THE LAYOUT FOR POSSIBLE ESCAPE ROUTES WITH HIS YOUNG DAUGHTER? No... it can't be possible....
(Sorry, I know I'm unfunny. I don't think that'll change)
But, genuinely, this just shows how at ease he is with his wife and daughter. He might not know it yet, but I know it (← somebody whose opinion isn't worth shit).
Finally, onto the main crisis of the story:
Tumblr media
the would-be murderer.
Tumblr media
There's something to be said about how he jumped into action to save the guy's life, (as one does), BUT. BUT
Tumblr media
OHOHOHO. The minute Yor's in danger (see: the man reached out to grab her but Loid just grabbed his hand) he decides to find the killer to prove her innocence. (You know his adage? A spy should never draw attention to themselves.) The minute his WIFE was in danger he resolves to find the killer and prove Yor's innocence their guilt. HMMMMM. Agent Twilight, you ain't slick. I think you momentarily forgot about about your #1 lesson to never draw attention to yourself just to prove Yor's innocence. OHHHHHH. The fanfiction is fanfiction-ing
(I'M SORRY I'LL TRY TO BE FUNNY FROM NOW ON)
To summarize the rest of the chapter: Anya realises with her telepathy that the killer is the lodge owner, and meddles in the investigation to nudge Loid in the right direction, and the police arrive to the lodge to find the incident resolved. Everyone's happy, right?
Not... really.
Anya's excited because, "Wow, I solved a murder! So cool, best trip ever!"
Tumblr media
But Yor and Loid aren't that happy. Loid is worried that this kind of meddling will get Anya in danger... and he's more worried that she isn't really grasping the gravity of the situation.
Which. She kind of isn't. A man was almost killed, but she's not showing any signs of shock? Remember, he was this worried even after the hospital visit where she makes a mess of that sand-model thingie, and after the bus hijacking arc, when she's hyped about the Stella, and he tells her that the Stella was "not for the reckless way you defied those hijackers."
Which.... is a lot of character development from the man who was A-OK with leaving her alone in the apartment, to now how he constantly worries about her wellbeing. Growth.
Also, another tidbit:
I feel like this chapter showcases another facet of his personality. Not Agent Twilight's, or Loid's, but [REDACTED]'s.
[REDACTED] always wanted to help. Even in the War Arc, when, in Luwen where he was staying at his great-uncle's house, we can see that he wants to catch fish for his and his family's dinner, while, in the backdrop, children are laughing and playing. It's always been in his character to help, and, hell, it's partly the reason he is who he is today. Agent Twilight wants to think that he left [REDACTED] behind after that fateful bombing in Luwen, but [REDACTED] is hanging around him like a ghost, and some of his character bleeds through the facade that is Agent Twilight, which is masked by the facade that is Loid Forger.
Final thoughts:
Loved the chapter. It's probably just me reading into it too much, but... that scene where he grabs the guy's hand who was trying to tie up Yor. Hm.
This entire chapter might have been a locked-room murder mystery type chapter, but I genuinely think that it showcases how much of an effect this family has had on Agent Twilight. What with taking Anya on a sweep of the premises to look for escape routes, to trying to prove Yor's innocence that definitely betrayed his number 1 rule as a spy... this man is truly so oblivious, I wanna cry.
(Also: did he not stop for a moment to think that him performing first-aid on the victim, or trying to build a radio from scratch OR playing detective to prove his wife's innocence IN FRONT OF A GROUP OF OSTANIAN PEOPLE would raise suspicions? Obviously, it was all overshadowed by the discovery of the would-be killer, but... at least one person had got to have been suspicious of Loid.)
(Also also: He's so weak. One look at her crying face and he's gone.)
Tumblr media
This was just my thoughts from a preliminary read of the chap, so if I get more thoughts, I'll probably add onto it in a reblog or a new post. Tysm for reading! Hope you liked it, and have a great day/night! Remember to stay hydrated!

Loid: I don't understand women... (well, its only Yor, his wife)
Says the spy who is known to have an arsenal of "Honey-pot" strategies.
The Yor x Loid slow burn is amazing that it upends everything Twilight knew and trained for Honeypot missions.
Their relationship progress and development is slowly letting him learn the hard work of romance that he hadn't known and experience before.
And to Yor, she's learning serious love relationships for the first time ever.
They're both learning romance together. For the first time.
Awwwwwww so sweet. Endo Tatsuya writes impeccably.

Thinking a bit:
Be warned.... Here is a spoiler
Maybe I'm just overthinking or focusing on how wrong this panel is but .... I know that for most of fandom this is a 'foreshadowing' of what will eventually happen. And it's a theory that goes all the way back to the beginning of the manga.
Tumblr media
Here there is a repeating pattern of two types of scenarios, in which Anya is obviously always in the middle.
Twilight eventually abandons his family and
. Yor murders Loid (Twilight).
Then, in a Forger breakup scenario where there is a showdown: Thor Princess may be the only one capable of taking down Westalis' best spy. And in an abandonment scenario, Twilight will be the first to go. And I know it! I know in retrospect it sounds obvious because it's the idea the manga is trying to make..... But... At the same time... I feel like endo made all this artifice in front of our eyes, to finally say: Ha ha, ha.... None of that happened.... Or at least not as you expect
I'm not saying there won't be drama.... I'm just saying that Endo is a specialist in taking 'everything you think will happen, will happen, but in a way you have no idea'.This chapter was a mockery and an award to the fandom. It's like getting what we've been waiting for but in a very different way than I could have predicted. So, maybe this is a foreshadowing of 'it's going to happen' or just Endo's way of saying 'this is only going to happen in your crazy fantasies'. Because that is what happened a fantasy manufactured in the wild mind of Yor Forger.
Tumblr media
ViInterestingly, the way Yor fantasizes about Loid(?) is frighteningly accurate. His mind thinks is exactly as it is twilight on the battlefield. (Yes, okey.... It's supposed to be a joke. Watching Thron Princess and Agent Twilight fight over morning omelet. But let's ignore that for a moment)
In other fantasies created by Yor he fantasizes about Loid, the sweet and proper man, who is looking for a good wife. However, we all know that Loid from Yor's fantasies is not realistic (For he never thinks of replacing her or dismissing her from her role as a wife in a smiling and cynical way)
What I'm trying to say.... (I don't know what I'm trying to say!!!!) Is that maybe Loid in Twilight mode is letting his guard down so much to the point that his naive wife has figured out Twilight mode(?) in his daily life when he is lost in his spying thoughts (?)
...... or Yor is so perceptive that she can clearly see behind that huge unconscious shell, even if she doesn't know what it means
If you think about that, it's funny, because then Anya and Yor are the only people able to see through Twilight, the indecipherable spy.... Even though neither of them have any idea of anything.
So… We are facing an omen of a battle, a possible kiss(?)… Or Endo justo playing with our wild and fragile feelings?

Summary:
There was a subtle change in the air that Loid Forger sensed around Yor since reuniting with her childhood friend, Klaus Kraus. Her form seemed straighter and she carried herself more confidently which heavily contrasted with her usual negative sense of worth. She was more attractive, bold even. He didn't know what to make of these changes. What he did know was he didn't like the idea of someone holding his wife in such an intimate way.
A fic in which Twilight meets Thorn Princess, a confident and sexy seductress, at the Berlint Gala, and he can't help but want to illustrate his dominance and relationship with said seductress through Tango.

Blind Spots | Domestic
AO3 | Next My submission for TwiYor Week 2022! So, WAAAYY way back when I was really into Miraculous Ladybug, I fell in love with the idea of a "Double Blind Reveal." Where two people with a secret identity discover the other's secret identity without either of them being aware they know. I thought that would work pretty well with Loid and Yor. That being said, this chapter probably has the largest canon-divergence as they both have to be un-oblivious enough to pick up on the clues. But whatever, this story is about how they deal with things and what happens afterwards, so just ignore it.
domestic | adjective
do·mes·tic | \ də-ˈme-stik \
3 : of or relating to the household or the family
-
You'd think being a hitman would put you above clumsiness.
Not for Yor.
Of course, in a fight or any other equally intense and life-threatening situation, she had full and precise control over her body. She did not err by even a hair's width, and always hit exactly where she aimed.
But, in spite of all that, evidently it was beyond her to dust in her home without knocking over a ceramic vase that they had on their coffee table.
She just stared at it for a moment once it had shattered all over the floor, water spreading outward and flowers trashed. Finally, with a resigned sigh, she bent over to start picking up the pieces to throw away.
Partway through, Yor spotted among the broken ceramic something slender, silver, and shiny. One of Loid's tie clips. Probably Anya knocked it off in one of her too-rough hugs to greet him when he came home the night before. She quickly placed it on the coffee table and finished up the rest of the cleanup for the vase before taking it back to Loid's room.
She paused before going into his room. Loid had given permission for her to go in his room to put things away, like she was now, but Yor was still nervous. It was the only room of their apartment that she didn't go in regularly, and it almost felt like going in there was intruding a little too much in Loid's space.
So she tried to be in and out of there as quickly as possible. Maybe that was her mistake. Because if she had, well, not necessarily taken her time, but certainly not rushed the task, then Yor wouldn’t have knocked over Loid’s box of cufflinks. And subsequently noticed something that shouldn’t have been there in the process of picking those up.
A bug.
Not the insect kind. Yor wasn’t bothered by those— or at least she was confident in her ability to annihilate them once they did become a bother.
No, it was a listening device. Something small to be stowed away in a room, or even on a person, if someone knew how to without being caught.
Something spies used.
Yor’s first thought was that someone was spying on Loid. But who? What would Westalis want with a psychiatrist? Yuri? He couldn’t have planted it in Loid’s room, though, if even he tried, which Yor found unlikely.
And besides, this was Loid. She could hardly imagine something like this going past his notice, even if he was just a psychiatrist.
Wait. Yor frowned. If he couldn’t possibly have not noticed it, then what was it doing in his room? Unless…
Unless he’s a spy himself.
Overwhelmed, unsure of what to think, Yor quickly finished putting things away before slinking back to her room. Sure, she hadn’t finished dusting, but she had left everything tidy enough, and she really needed a minute to recover from that possibility. She went in, locked the door, and then slid down the wall until she was seated on the floor. Only there, finally, was she able to take a breath and think.
It fit together too perfectly. Like it couldn’t possibly not be true. How, well… perfect he was. The long hours he worked… a psychiatrist probably wouldn’t need to work that late, right? And Anya, well… it wasn’t like a spy couldn’t have a family.
But… well, shouldn’t a spy try to keep a low profile in his normal life, since he wouldn't want to draw attention to himself? So why was Anya attending Eden Academy, a hotbed of the rich and powerful? Unless… that was the purpose. To put her in contact with those who would have access to crucial information for Westalis. The thought that Anya was a spy was even more sickening than that of Loid.
But… was she? Now that she thought about it, it seemed unlikely. She had punched Damian Desmond, perhaps the most valuable person in her class to spy on, at orientation. No, Anya probably knew that her father was a spy, and that was why she loved her show "Spy Wars." But otherwise, she was much too honest, much too much a child. No, Anya was no spy.
At least, not now. Yor frowned at the thought, hating the clear possibility that it could in fact be a long-term operation with the eventual goal of getting to Damian’s father, Donovan Desmond. For what purpose? She was hardly smart enough to tell. But she was sure there could be something.
Yor groaned and leaned her head back against the wall, wishing that she had never found out. This was all too complicated for her. If only she could go back to earlier that day when she suspected nothing was wrong in her life.
That was a thought. Yor perked up. While she couldn’t actually travel back in time, and her acting skills were shoddy at best, it certainly was easier to, well… pretend that it had never happened. At least, she could forget about it while she focused on other tasks until she figured out how to react to the information. Perhaps she could ask the Shopkeeper. He would know better than her.
Having collected her wits, Yor stood up, and went back out.
After all, she had to finish dusting.
-
Loid chose fish for dinner.
Not something cheap and obviously a product of mass market production, such as fish sticks, though Anya loved those things regardless. No, he had gone to a fresh fish mart, gotten real fish.
Now, that being said, one thing fish sticks did have going for it was the lesser amount of preparation that went into it. But three fresh fish meant three fish that he had to decapitate, gut, descale, and debone himself.
Loid glanced up at Anya and Yor before he did all the work himself. Of course, he could very easily do it, and perhaps more efficiently by himself than with their help and the stress accompanying it, but one of his goals in Operation Strix was to maintain the appearance of an average family. And strengthening familial bonds was an easy way to make that happen naturally.
“Do either of you want to help?”
Anya got one look at the fish and turned queasy, which Loid took as a distinct “no.” He supposed it might be a bit much for a child to be willing to so easily join the process of turning what had so recently been an animal into food. She mumbled an excuse of “needing to study” and staggering back to her room with Bond in tow.
Well, that was one taken care of. Though he didn’t know whether that was a relief or not, because when it came to matters of the kitchen, Yor might be even worse than Anya.
“So, what about—” Loid halted as he turned and saw Yor staring at him holding the knife with baited breath and flushed cheeks. That’s right. For some reason, his wife really, really loved blades. “…you?”
Yor flinched, looking up at him, cheeks even redder. “Oh, could I? I don’t want to get in your way!”
Loid could understand her inhibitions, as Anya had complained more than once about her cooking, and he had felt its ill effects himself. But that seemed to be more about the actual cooking component, and she certainly had no difficulties wielding a knife, at least. Of course, none of that had anything to do with why he asked, as it was for strengthening their bonds as a fake family in order to better pass as a real one. All for the mission.
Yet, he almost didn’t think about the mission at all when he said, “You wouldn’t be getting in my way. I really wouldn’t mind help cutting the fish.”
He had to admit, with Yor’s constant earnestness and honesty, it was all too easy to sometimes forget that he was Twilight, not actually Loid Forger, her husband, and that he couldn’t care for her like he actually was. And it was hard, being so close to some of the people he was trying to protect peace for, while trying not to be legitimately close to them. Sometimes Twilight was jealous of Loid Forger, a person that didn’t quite truly exist, for getting to be so attached to his family without anything holding him back from it.
But he dismissed that thought. He wasn’t Twilight now, while in his own home. He had to be Loid Forger as completely as he could, and only long for it to be a truth and not a lie.
Yor had retrieved a knife and cutting board to use, placing them on the counter next to Loid as she grabbed one of the fish.
“Do you need me to show you how?”
He barely finished before she started moving at lightning speed, wielding the knife like a weapon against the fish. Yor cleaved off its head in a clean motion before pushing it off to the side and slitting its stomach from the base to its gills. Then she immediately grabbed those and ripped them out, its organs coming out along with it, and she briefly turned just long enough to throw them into the trash.
Loid looked up at Yor as she moved onto the next fish, just staring at her for a moment. The speed with which she had executed that was impressive. And that grin on her face and cheeks flushed even more than earlier made it clear that she was enjoying it.
He could barely admit it to himself that he thought this, but… it was a nice look on her, how enthralled she was by this.
By the time he had looked back down to the counter, though he hadn’t looked away long at all, she had managed to finish gutting the second fish. She was extremely fast, and clearly knew what she was doing.
Loid tilted his, a slight smile forming on her lips as she reached for the third and final fish. “I hadn’t realized that you knew how to prepare fish so well.”
Yor glanced up at him, knife hovering over the fish. “I don’t, actually. I’ve never made fish before.”
He didn’t want to realize what that meant. Of course, he couldn’t help but analyze it, years of being a spy made him largely unable to interact with others in a normal manner, especially with anything that seemed the slightest bit off. But he was able to push it off long enough to reply in a normal manner while crafting an escape for himself. “Ah, so you’re a natural, then. I’ll leave it to you, while I start to season them.”
Only then did Loid turn around, letting the sounds of Yor’s positive butchering haunt him from behind. Only then did Twilight think about what said butchering meant when she hadn’t done it on a fish before. It was obvious that she was not, as Loid said, just a natural, but legitimately had experience. If not specifically fish, that was concerning. She certainly didn’t have enough grace or experience with cooking in general for the knowledge to be that easily applied to an animal she wasn’t familiar with working with. So the knowledge had to come in from some other field.
Assassin, Twilight thought. She had to be an assassin. Or, at least, it was a strong possibility. As much as Loid hated suspecting Yor again, if she had such a huge secret… it would justify looking through her room while she was away at work the next day, to see if it could confirm his suspicions.
Suspicions. He hated that he had them. He hated that he had to analyze everything he came across, look out for potential threats.
Loid wished… no, Twilight wished… or actually, if he was being honest, it was [REDACTED] who wished that he could just play out this domestic bliss like it was true. But unfortunately, he was a spy first.
Thanks for reading my crazy little story! I hope you enjoyed it! Please leave a comment! I love hearing what people think about my work (even if I'm not the best about replying)! Next

For as long as Loid could remember, he hated winter time. It was too cold, he could easily get sick and be out of service, and the roads were hard to maneuver through, especially if there was snow on the ground.
Once he opened the door to his apartment, he saw Anya and Becky playing while Yor watched over them. He faintly smiled as Becky rushed up to him, fiddling with something behind her back. He bent down to sort of meet her gaze, giving her a bigger smile.
“What do you have there?” he asked.
“Um, uhm,” Becky said, avoiding eye contact with him.
“Oh, don’t be so shy Becky,” Yor said smiling, walking up to the two. “You worked so hard on this little trinket.”
“You’ve made something for me?” Loid asked, peering over her shoulder.
“I-I made you this,” Becky said, hands shaking as she showed him a little ornament.
Loid graciously took the ornament from her, feeling the coarse paper texture due to the watercolor she used when she was painting. He looked at the painting, and it was of Bond in a little hat.
“Well, isn’t this lovely,” he smiled, thumbing over the ornament.
Becky placed her hands on her face, feeling her face burn. After a few seconds, she fell to the floor, unconscious.
“Oh no!” Anya shouted, rushing over to her.
Loid picked Becky up, placed her on the couch, and placed a blanket over her. He faintly smiled as he saw his daughter stay close to her friend. He looked over to Yor and saw her ready with a cold wet cloth.
“I hope she wakes up soon,” Yor said, walking over to Loid.
“Why’s that?” He asked, furrowing his brow.
“Because Anya and Becky were hoping to go outside to play,” she giggled.
Loid let out a low, irritated sigh.
“What’s that face for,” she frowned, placing her hand on his chest.
Loid placed his hand on top of hers. “I just don’t like the winter.”
Yor sighed, but her smile soon turned into a smile. She moved her hand from his chest to his cheek. “Maybe now that you have a family, it’ll be more fun.”
Loid took held her hand, feeling her fingers curl over his, and placed it over his heart. “Family…” He thought to himself. Something he wasn’t used to. Something he wasn’t used to in a long while.
He looked at her smile and felt a burning sensation in his chest. Without even thinking, he brought her hand to his mouth. Before he could kiss her knuckles, Yor jerked around at the sound of Anya cheerfully saying Becky’s name. Loid frowned as he sighed.
He quickly shook it off, plastering on a fake smile as he walked over to the couch. “Are you feeling better, Becky?”
“Yes,” she said, sitting up, avoiding his gaze and fidgeting with her fingers. “I’m sorry for falling to the ground and falling asleep.”
“It’s alright,” Loid smiled.
“Uhm,” Becky mumbled out as she felt her face heat up. She slapped her cheeks and shook her head to get herself together. “I wanted to tell you that I’m really happy that you love your present.”
Loid nodded before placing it on their tree. He turned back to her and his family afterwards. “Yor told me that you girls would like to go play outside in the snow.”
“Yes!” Becky smiled widely.
“Yes!” Anya agreed. “Becky said she’s going to teach me how to build a snowman!”
“Oh, not a snow penguin?” Loid asked, ruffling Anya’s hair.
A smile grew on Anya’s face. “Ahh, that would be so cute!”
“Well, you both should get your coats and gloves on,” he instructed as he stood up straight. He walked over to Bond, attaching the leash to his collar. “You want to spend as much time as you can outside, right?”
Becky and Anya both laughed as they rushed over to the door, putting their coats and gloves on. He watched Yor lightly clapping her hands as she walked over to them, and watched as she helped them put their extra clothes on. His eyes fell to Anya and Becky who were laughing at a joke Yor had tried to make.
Loid’s eyes sorrowfully made their way back to his wife, who looked back at him. She gave him a big smile, tilting her head towards the children. As he walked over to them, Anya and Becky rushed out of the apartment. Yor soon followed them.
He sighed as he put on his coat, grabbing his wife’s. As he caught up with the three, he saw that Anya and Becky were in front of Yor, not paying attention to her. Loid gently put Yor’s coat on her shoulders and she began to put it on.
“Thank you, Loid,” she cheerfully said, squeezing his hand that was still on her shoulder.
Loid only nodded as he unknowingly put his hand on her hip. As he felt the air become colder, he gripped her hip a little tighter. “Sorry,” he apologized, hearing her let out a little yelp.
“It’s alright,” she smiled as he pulled her closer.
On the way to the park, he clutched Bond’s leash tightly, and held Yor close to him so he could share her warmth. Once they got to the park, he stayed close to her and watched Anya and Becky play. If they weren’t putting up the appearance of a family, he didn’t know what would.
Loid held his coat closer to his body when Yor decided to go play with Anya, Becky, and Bond. He watched as Bond touched snow for the first time. He smiled when Bond shook each foot to get the snow off of his paw. It took a little while for him to get used to it.
He let out a deep breath, watching it leave as a white cloud as he watched Yor, Anya, Becky, and Bond build a snow penguin. He watched as Yor got Bond to stop stomping and eating the little penguin. As Loid kept on watching them, he saw his wife look at him with a frown on her face. She tilted her head towards the children.
“Is this my…” He softly said to himself.
Anya rushed over to him, tugging on his leg as hard as she could. Becky shortly followed her. Yor walked over to him, holding out her hand towards him, and gave him a faint smile. Loid took her hand as the two children kept tugging on his legs. They all led him to an area where sleds were being held. Yor grabbed a sled, handing it over to Loid before grabbing another one.
They all walked to a giant hill, placing the sleds down on the ground. When one sled was down, Anya and Becky rushed to get on it. Loid slowly started to push them down the hill, smiling gently as he heard the two of them laugh. Yor placed the other sled down and sat on it. She smiled at him, patting the empty spot behind her.
Loid hid his discomfort and got on the sled, gently placing his hands on her hips. She lunged them forward. He gripped her hips as they plummeted down the hill at top speed. Once he got up, he tried to regain his balance as he walked up the hill. He watched as the two children rushed back up the hill with their sleds. He couldn’t possibly fathom how this was fun. Even though he didn't want to do it again, Yor pulled on his arm and dragged him up the hill.
Up and down, up and down they sledded. By the end of it, Loid could barely keep his balance. Luckily for him, Yor let him lean on her. He held on to her tightly as she walked him over to a bench where Bond had been staying near and didn’t let go when they sat down.
“Pa,” Anya frantically said. “Are you feeling okay?”
“Loid, please tell me you are okay,” Becky said, worriedly, clinging to his leg.
“I’m fine,” he reassured them. “Just a little dizzy.”
Becky quickly climbed onto the bench and sat on Loid’s lap. “Oh no. Let me kiss it away,” she said, clutching his clothes.
“I’m fine, really,” he said, patting her head and faking a smile. “Why don’t you and Anya keep on playing?”
“No, you need some medical help!” Becky pleaded.
“Pa said he was fine,” Anya smugly looked at her. “Why don’t we go play some more?”
“Oh, alright,” Becky pouted.
After she got off Loid’s lap, Anya climbed onto the bench. Loid gave her a half hug before the two went off with Bond to play in the snow. Loid suppressed his sigh as he leaned against Yor.
“Are you sure you’re doing alright?” Yor asked, holding Loid’s hand tightly.
“I’m a little dizzy, but I will be fine,” Loid reassured her.
She faintly smiled as he slumped his body, placing his head on her shoulder.
“Are you doing alright?” he asked.
He watched her as she moved her hand from his to her other hand, fiddling with her ring finger. “You aren’t alright,” he said, suppressing a sigh.
“It’s just, you haven’t really cared to be out here playing with Anya and Becky,” she let out. She pushed him up, placing her hand on his face. “I know this is all for appearances, but you have a family now. Even for a little while.”
He stared longingly into her eyes. No matter how much he wanted to shut out the words she was saying, he couldn’t.
“You know Anya loves you, just as much as I do,” Yor said, feeling her face heat up.
Before she could say another word, Loid pressed his forehead against hers.
“L-Loid, I-I don’t, I-I,” she stuttered.
“I know, but I know you aren’t lying either,” he smiled.
His body started to move on its own, moving down to press his lips against hers. Before he could give her a kiss, however, he was hit on the head with a snowball. Yor and Loid looked over to Anya and Becky. He saw Anya laughing and pointing at Becky who looked really mad. He faintly smiled, peering over to his wife, who was laughing as well.
He felt her nudge him towards them. He sighed as he got up from the bench, picking up some snow. He clumped up the snow, making it into a ball, and deliberately missing Becky. Anya began to laugh louder when he started to play with them.
Loid jogged around, being pelted with snowballs. He threw some snowballs, either lightly hitting Becky and Anya or missing them. Sometimes he became a wall for Becky or Anya so they wouldn’t get hit with snow. He sighed as he grabbed the two children, hearing them laugh. He rolled his eyes as he placed them back on the ground.
Loid looked over to Yor who was keeping an eye on Bond. He smirked as he grabbed some snow. He threw it at her, hitting the bench. Instead of her coming towards him, Bond rushed over to them, jumping on him, and pushing him to the ground. Becky and Anya ran up to them, laughing and petting Bond.
He was able to get everyone off of him and he watched as the children ran around and continued their snowball fight. He joined in again, along with Yor. They began to team up, Yor with Anya and Loid with Becky. They ran around, and around, followed by Bond, hitting each other with snowballs.
Loid got close to Yor, he picked her up by the waist, and twirled her around. He then smushed some snow in her face, genuinely laughing and smiling. He felt her place her hand on his face once more, pulling him close again. Before anything could happen, Loid felt another snowball hit him. He smirked, placing her back on the ground.
He walked up to Anya, tickling her for throwing a snowball at him. Before he knew it, Bond jumped on top of them. Snowballs were soon pelted at the two of them. Knowing what Anya’s smirk meant, they teamed up against Yor and Becky.
Time flew by fast when Loid was hanging out with his family, he didn’t realize it became dark out. It wasn’t long before they made their way home and Loid made soup while Yor made some hot cocoa to go along with it. Not long after dinner, Anya and Becky headed off to bed. Loid walked into Anya’s room, softly smiling as he watched Yor read the children a bedtime story.
Loid smiled and helped Yor tuck them in. “That’s a nice story,” he said, softly.
“Hehe, it was one I told Yuri when we were younger,” she told him, getting the blanket to cover Anya and Becky. “It was the only story that would get him to sleep. I thought they might like it.”
“Two knights fighting one another to save a country,” he stood straight up. “It’s interesting, to say the least.”
“There’s nothing to it. Just a simple story,” she smiled at him. “Maybe I can tell you the story when we get to our ‘room.’”
Loid let out a little chuckle as they walked to his room. He looked at her with a big smile, placing his hand on her face. “Today was a lot of fun,” he said, pulling her face closer.
“Good,” she said, happily, moving in closer.
Before they could do anything, Anya and Becky rushed into the room, climbing into the bed. The two gave each other a half-smile before getting the two settled in. Loid faintly smiled as Yor snuggled with Anya before the three of them fell asleep. He released a breath of air as he felt Yor place her head on his chest.
“This is my family,” he thought to himself, fiddling with Yor’s hair.
He closed his eyes shut, slowly falling asleep.
