outfit ^

you were on a night out with Joe, Natalia, Charlie, Maya, Dacre, Joseph and Grace. you had all finished filming season 4 of Stranger Things and you were all at a night club. you weren't really a 'party' girl but you liked to go out once in a while and because you were with your friends, it made you feel at ease. you guys were walking into the club when paparazzi were screaming all of your names, taking photos of you guys as you entered the club. you were next to Grace who had grabbed your hand out of nervousness, you squeezed her hand back and walked to the bar.

you all ordered your drinks, walked and sat in a booth and started chatting to each other, you loved that you had made new friends through work, you'd never enjoyed a job more and getting to know everyone made you happy. the night continued with you speaking to the cast but you decided that it would be best if you all went to the dance floor. you danced with Grace and Maya and suddenly felt someone push themselves up against you. you froze and turned around, seeing it was a person you had never met before.

he smiled at you and grabbed your hand, pulling you to the bar. "uhh i'm sorry do i know you?" you said once you got to the bar. "no, but my names Tom" he said, kissing your cheek. this guy was weird. "oh well it's nice to meet you" you said, trying to get away from him. "no please, i didn't mean to be weird i just want to get to know you" he said, stopping you from walking away. Joe was watching you from the booth he was still sat in, ignoring whatever Joseph was talking about. his face angered when he saw you getting pulled back by the unknown boy.

"Joe? are you even listening?" Joseph said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "oh yeah sorry, i'm just trying to make sure y/n is okay" he said, turning back to face Joseph. they carried on with their conversation, Joe still turning his head to you every few minutes. you finally got away from Tom, who was just talking about the most random things about himself. you walked over to the table and stood there for a while , hoping Tom wouldn't come back over. "could i sit between you two?" you said, looking a Joseph and Joe. Joe got out the booth, allowing you to get in. you felt safer with them two and you were happy you weren't on the end of the seat.

you listened to their conversation, only speaking up when they asked you a question. the night was ending, you were tired and wanted to go home. you all started to leave and you guys walked outside, thankful that the paparazzi weren't all up in your face. "hey!" you heard. the group were quite a bit ahead of you but Joe was lingering behind a bit. you stopped and turned around, seeing Tom following after you. "Tom? why are you following me?" you said, leaving the group to walk up to him. "i want your number, please give it to me" he said, pleading eyes. you shook your head and sighed. "Tom, i've just met you and you don't even know my name" you said, turning to walk away. "no, please, i want to get to know you" he begged, grabbing your hand harshly. "excuse me, don't grab me like that" you said, pulling your hand away.

everyone else kept on walking, not realising what was happening but Joe stopped, watching the altercation. the paparazzi were on the other side of the road, taking sneaky photos of the interaction. Joe walked as fast as he could up to you. Tom was still grabbing your hand. "Tom, you're hurting me, get off" you said as he tried to pull you away from where you were standing. "yo man, you need to back off" you heard Joe say, you sighed in relief and pulled your wrist to your chest when Tom let go. it had a bright red mark around it and it was already starting to bruise. "who are you?" Tom said, taking a step back from you. "it doesn't matter, you shouldn't be grabbing her like that" Joe said, putting a hand on your shoulder.

"you okay?" he whispered to you, you nodded your head and he turned back to Tom. "why are you grabbing her like that?" he said, you'd never seen Joe this angry. his eyes filled with rage and he looked fuming. "i didn't grab her like anything mate, you don't even know the story" Tom said, smirking at Joe. "her wrist is bright red so you've obviously grabbed her hard" Joe said, looking at Tom. "nah mate, i hardly touched her, now if you don't mind, i'll get back to my conversation" Tom said, grabbing your hand again, this time he pulled you harder and you stumbled over your feet as he pulled you. "ow Tom stop it" you shouted at him.

Joe grabbed your hands and pulled you away from Tom. "she doesn't want to go with you" Joe said, getting in between you and Tom. "why don't you just back off mate" Tom said shoving Joe. "don't shove me man" Joe said, shoving him back. "guys come on now, don't fight" you said, putting a hand on Joe's shoulder, you moved out of the way when Tom shoved Joe again. the whole situation escalated fast. next thing you knew there were punches being thrown. "stop oh god" you didn't know what to do. you'd never seen a physical fight let alone the fight being over you. you saw Tom on the floor with a bloody nose. Joe got up and put a hand on your shoulder, making sure you were okay.

"Joe, i'm fine, are you okay?" you said, putting a hand on his face. he only had a grazed lip. he nodded his head and put an hand out for you to take. you put your hand in his and you walked back to your apartment. you looked to the other pavement and saw the paparazzi going crazy. "they got all of that on video" you said to him as you walked round the corner. "i don't care" he said. the rest of the walk home was silent, you didn't mind it really. you were shocked that Joe had fought a guy over you. you hadn't told anyone but you had the biggest crush on Joe. he was kind, caring and he just had a punch up with a random boy to save you. you were grateful for him.

you arrived at your apartment and got into the lift. you put a hand on his cheek and inspected the the cut on his lip. it was bleeding a little. "i'll clean that when we get inside" you whispered to him. "it's fine, don't worry about it" he said, putting a hand on your cheek. you got out the lift and walked into your apartment, you pulled Joe into the bathroom and he sat on the counter. you got the first aid kit and put it on Joe's lap. you put some water on a cloth and dabbed the cut. he winced in pain. "i'm sorry" you said, putting the cloth down and getting the antiseptic cream. "you didn't have to do that for me Joe" you said, going back to the fight he'd just had. "i did. it was happening to you. you look beautiful by the way" he said, putting a hand on your cheek. Joe loved you. you blushed brightly. "i love you y/n and i'd never let anything like that happen to you again" he said, looking into your eyes. you smiled to him and kissed his lips. he pulled away after a few minutes and winced at the cut on his lip. "i'm sorry" you said, the brightest smile on your face. you knew that this would progress into something beautiful.

You know how it goes I'm gonna ramble again so I'll put the read more thing for the sake of scrolling past it 😭

Well I'll start off by saying that, in this era of reboots and mass adaptations of every mildly old franchsie ever, is kinda impossible to avoid negative reactions from the people who were fans of the first generation of such franchises, because it happens, when someone takes something you grew up with and changes it to a modern audience most people's reaction will be "what in the world that's not how it was back in my days" + the phenomenon of older generations not liking the stuff that comes all for younger generations and etc. And I mention all of this bcs this definetely affects how people's opinions on things such as design (of MH in this case) go, there's lots of strong biases in this conversation of reboots and all

And tbh I wasn't immune to that 💀 at first I didn't like a lot of small decisions they made because I was used to the old one and "the og's always better" type of opinion, monster high was a big part of my childhood and probably a big boost to my interest in art! Which is what I live for baisically nowadays so ofc I felt strongly about it 😭 but when I came back after some time I realized, hey it's not that serious. I don't even remember specifically what those things I criticized were about, so that's an indicator of how much I actually cared, deep down lol. Like, pink Lagoona did not kill me, can you believe that? /s.

My opinion as of now, is that I think the g3 designs are really cute on their own!! I'm gonna stop myself from comparing it to the first gen because for the most part that's a waste of time and also a huge tangent from where I want to get 😭 recent reboots are a product of this era and they adapt accordingly. Sometimes they hit sometimes they miss, I think g3 mh is going well mostly!

(Talking about the concept designs and doll designs in this part) g3 takes from general modern fashion, clothing-wise the characters are not draaastically different from each other, they all just dress like how teenagers nowadays do but each got their own little motifs to their wardrobes. I don't think this "lack of difference" between each other's outfits is an enormous one nor is it inherently a bad thing because hey, if it looks good it looks good, and you can distinguish their clothings between one another just fine imo. In some cases I got some nickpicking in terms of "the pattern of this shirt is not working with these pants" or "whoa there's a lot going on with these colors" or "they really love to put bright pink lipstick on everyone huh" but it's rarely something I heavily dislike (only cases I can remember are that I wasn't a fan of was Heath 💀 feels like halfway through the process of his design mattel said "no you can stop now he's good like that" nothing is happening with that look, it's crazy, what happened to my boy. And Twyla, that wasn't as bad a s Heath's, but it just didn't work for me)

I can't say anything about the quality of the material of the dolls themselves bcs I don't have any of the new ones but oh my god, I also think Draculaura is adorable 😫 I think Venus dropped too recently and I'd buy her for sure!! The braided hair is everything and her fashion sense is probably one of my favorites so far? I also love Abbey's doll, and Frankie too especially that one line that they got a guitar? Instrument? Rockstar theme I think? (I'd cosplay that, no joke) from what I can see the designs are putting a lot more variety on drawing and sculpting different body types, features and details on the dolls and I think that's super fucking awesome! G1 also experimented with facial features and details on the body every once in a while but not as nicely done as now!

For the animated series I understand they had to tone it down to some extent because inserting all details the dolls and concept art had could lead to technical trouble (I think), so it isn't fair to compare them to one another. I'm just gonna ignore the animated series in terms of design for now, cause it's in the dolls and in illustration that a franchise like monster high work best anyway. I don't think much abt the cartoon tbh and I'm also not up to most episodes, idk who else dropped recently. But honorable mention, in the standards of the animated series my favorite designs are Deuce and Medusa for sure

That's long enough of a post so I'm gonna stop right hereeee, this was more of an overview of the g3 as a whole rather than ratings of each character, but yeah! I'm no longer a hater, I'm ok 👍 (if you're one of the people who heard me extensively complain over g3 before in another social, honestly I don't even know what it could have been about but you know what, disconsider it, it's easier that way 😭) I may have more opinions about it but that's all I could remember for now. Also my brain is fried.

And I can always change my mind on this, so there's that! Someone get me a Venus and Frankie doll rn please and thank you

volume V thoughts bc once again fusebox has got me intrigued

first of all omg wtf

I usually end up reading a few spoilers before I play bc I'm bored at work but don't wanna play the volume until I get back but I had such a busy day at work I didn't do that and wow ok I gotta avoid spoilers more often I was shook

so excess baggage was okay. like yeah makes sense we want the couples to be tense again before voting the couple superlatives thing, but also such a throwaway. (and also I talked about this in my post about last volume, but we have so many challenges in a row!! why)

since my MC did initially flirt with Oakley a lot more than Jin, I do think it's funny Oakley talks about how cool MC's secret is (like it's annoying fs but also something I've seen happen on love island to create small drama but then ultimately it's just talk so it's nice to have that happen here).

Also i was worried Oakley was gonna turn on us or flirt with us and abandon Emel, so I'm very glad he was just asking for advice. (I'm a big Oakley and Emel fan, what can I say?) I'd be okay if that led into a different storyline where you could pursue Oakley later, but with how fusebox has been making the seasons lately, once you pick you've made your choice and I do miss in for example s2 where even if you don't pick Lurik when they first become available you have a chance the next recoupling and it feels like it changes your route.

Jack is still mad at MC??

Couples game was fun. I wish fusebox formatted it so you discuss with your partner and then make a choice before everyone revealed their answers instead of people talking and explaining before the player picks their answer. Like we know the characters already, just let me pick and we can see who agrees.

Oakley's evening wear outfit 😍 best dressed boy fs

I of course could never bear to see Oakley and Emel go, but I surprisingly actually missed Sophie and Jack as soon as they left but like in a me missing Allegra and Miles/Jasper when they left. Like yeah they were irritating but they brought drama and I understand where Allegra/Sophie is coming from (and I support women's wrongs lol)

Jin going through his main character of S6 arc??? No but fr I can't imagine why the public would vote him out so he's either hiding something that's gonna come out when he gets back or he was voted most popular and is gonna come back soon. I hope it's not casa because (1) that already happened in s6 and (2) I want the chance to flirt around with new characters in casa lol. I've seen a few theories around and I have no idea which is true but if I could throw in another idea which is post casa, MC is finally with a bombshell, Claudia/Theo, or a casa boy and things seem good but Jin and Luna show up together as returning islanders and MC has to choose between Jin and her current LI.

It's so interesting for drama, like ik I'm here for it. But a lot of people like loyal routes so I hope yall are doing okay

I was like half hoping we could walk out with him even though of course fusebox isn't giving us that option but like I wish he said something like hey you just got here, enjoy your time at the Villa and I'll wait out there for you no matter what happens. just to explain why MC wouldn't leave. that being said, their goodbye was so sweet.

One thing that's different in the game than the show is the number of islanders present at once, which makes sense its hard to keep track of all of them (though they've done it before in s2), and it just is weird bc now the people in the Villa are MC (single), Claudia and Theo (who don't like each other), and Emel and Oakley (only one couple).

despite my complaint about the challenge thing this is great pacing/timing for a new islander. it's just a shame the screwed over Tyler coming in so soon after MC. I can't remember if I already wrote this in my last post but I almost wish he came in with MC and got a better chance.

A Night in Wellington (Viago/Gender-Neutral Reader)

Author’s Note: I am so freaking sorry this took me so long to get to, but it was super fun to write for Viago for the first time. I also tried to keep the reader as ambiguous as possible in this for anyone to enjoy!

You sighed and sat down on your bed in defeat. Nothing was going right.

The past few weeks had been stressful, to say the least. Your schedule was crammed and you had barely allocated any time for relaxation or recreation. Oh, and not to mention, due to the demands the world required of you during the day, you hadn’t seen your–undead–boyfriend in almost a week.

Actually that wasn’t entirely true; you had technically seen him each day, meeting him for a quick kiss or cuddle as he woke up while you got ready for bed–a poetic paradox that constantly seems to only work against the two of you. Viago has always been respectful of your sleep schedule (or more often, the lack thereof), constantly reassuring you that you were never expected to drop your routine for him. Still, navigating the ins and outs of daily life while trying to correlate your human schedule with your night-dwelling boyfriend kinda sucked; literally, at times.

Tonight, however, was supposed to be perfect. Somehow, the stars had aligned, and you were able to spend the day night with Viago. You planned to join him and your other housemates on a night out, parading around Wellington on the arm of the person you loved. You had even slept through the majority of the day in order to stay up all night as your flatmates had been doing for centuries.

Now, however, as you put on the outfit you picked out and looked at yourself in the mirror, you were having second thoughts. The material was drawn too taught in some areas, too loose in others, and suddenly all of the work you had put in to look presentable felt pointless.

You anxiously glanced outside to notice that dusk had just started to set in, so the boys were due to wake up soon. Peering into the hall from your room, no clear evidence of movement or sound indicated that anyone was awake, so you retracted back into your room and settled back into your state of contemplation. You could’ve sworn you heard the distinct flapping of wings as you shut the door, but blamed it on your heightened sense of uneasiness.

Should’ve gone with the other one, you silently reprimanded yourself, adjusting certain areas to see if you could make the outfit more flattering. After all, you were going out with Viago tonight, who always looked dashing to say the least. Just don’t wanna let him down, is all.

Still peering in the mirror, you couldn’t help but feel something cold sliding down your waist. Your eyes followed the curve of your hips and waist in the mirror and were met with nothing but the reflection of yourself, but it wasn’t until you looked down at your body when you realized Viago’s hands were the culprit. Stupid vampires and their lack of a reflection.

“Surprise!” Viago said, with a toothy grin, his smile widening further as you turned to face him. You flashed him a forced smile in return, which he instantly picked up on.

“What’s wrong, my love?” He asked, his grin fading as he watched you remove yourself from him and sink down onto the end of your bed.

When you didn’t reply and looked down at your lap, Viago crossed the room himself and kneeled before you.

“Darling, tell me what’s wrong. I saw you looking in the mirror, and at first I was offended because that’s like one of the few things vampires get insecure about…” He trailed off as he realized he was rambling and received a quizzical look from you.

“But,” he started again, “I realized if you were not looking at me…”

You glanced down at your lap once more before speaking in a whisper. “I was looking at myself.”

Viago nodded while reaching a hand out to stroke your cheek gently, turning your head towards him in the process. He looked as though he wanted to question you further, to figure out the root of what was bothering you, but as you leaned into his touch, he decided against it. He’s been through these moments with you before, and you had warned him these various bouts of emotion came as a package deal when he agreed to a relationship with you. Still, though, this never made feeling insecure or upset any easier. If anything, knowing that someone else who is as selfless and devoted as Viago is involved in your drama made the feelings worse at times. I just don’t want to feel like a burden.

“You know, Y/N, you are not and never have been a burden, not to any of us” he said, as you slightly widened your eyes in surprise at his ability to read your mind. He didn’t read your’s, or really anyone’s mind often, as it wasn’t something he was particularly good at. He usually reserved it for use as a party trick or for emergencies–yet both options seemed unfit for the current moment.

He slid his hand down your cheek to your shoulder, slowly stroking to ease some of the tension that had built up and crescendoed to the state you found yourself in tonight. You relaxed into his touch as you had done before, allowing him to take care of you. Still, though, you couldn’t help but feel bad for somehow making this big bad vampire cater to your needs and wants. He was supposed to be out terrorizing people; hell, he killed people to stay alive! Yet here he was massaging your shoulders…

You could feel your eyes watering as you spiraled, realizing how fortunate you were to have Viago in your life, regardless of all the chaos it often brought you. “V-Vi?” You asked, wiping your eyes with the back of your hand, trying to ensure that any touching up you did to them to get ready stayed in place.

“Yes, my love?” He responded, his eyes searching yours, anxious to hear what you had to say.

You took a deep breath before speaking your thoughts. “I just…I don’t feel the best about myself tonight. Well, actually, most nights recently. And days. And I know you don’t care-”

He gripped one of your hands with his own as he interjected. “Of course I care,” he began, using his free hand to tuck some loose hair behind your ear. “I know it’s like the most cliché thing I could say, but liebchen, you’re the greatest thing that’s happened to me in centuries.”

You nearly rolled your eyes at his statement, but instead smiled at the meaning it held. “Considering only a handful of people can even say they’ve lived for centuries, I think there’s cheesier things you could’ve said.”

Viago’s smile widened, his fangs adorning his lower lip, happy to see your lifted mood. “Yeah, like what?” He asked.

You could feel the tension within yourself diminish as you curled your index fingers and brought them to either side of your lips. “I want to suck your blood!” You said, your accent mimicking a more extreme, dracula-esque version of his. Viago looked as though he was both offended but also glad that you felt confident enough to mock him, and you felt yourself smiling at his ability to cheer you up so easily.

You used your newfound tranquility to glance once more in the mirror, standing up from the bed and walking towards it as you followed the shape of your body. You felt Viago’s hands on your hips, but this time just in passing, as he placed himself between you and the mirror and began removing his overcoat.

You raised your eyebrows at his actions. “Woah, woah, woah, Vi! Are you trying to distract me from how I feel with your powers of seduction or something?!”

Viago chuckled at that, placing his hands on his hips. “As good as you look, darling, and as interesting as that sounds…” he began, moving to place his overcoat over the mirror, covering the glass. “That’s not what I was intending…at the moment. Unless…”

You rolled your eyes at his proposition, closing the space between each of you. You reached up to run your fingers through his hair, admiring the soft sensation under your fingertips. As your hands reach the nape of his neck, you interlock your hands, drawing his attention to your face in front of him. You glanced into his eyes as you spoke, “Vi, do you really think I look good tonight?”

He nodded as though it was obvious, but raised an eyebrow and cradled your chin with one of his hands when he was met with a look of uncertainty from you. “I know what you’re doing, liebling.”

“Yeah, what’s that?” You asked, removing your hands from his neck and tracing them down his chest, resting them on his pecs.

He followed the movement of your hands as he replied. “If I say you look good, you’ll convince yourself not to believe me. And if I say you don’t, which is literally never the truth, ever–”

“Then I will beat your eternal ass.” You laughed, astounded at how easily he could draw you from your dismissive thoughts.

He removed your hands from his chest and held them in his own, drawing circles on them with his thumbs. He leaned in close to reply, knowing you love the sensation, as he spoke. “I’d love to see you try.”

You pulled back, feigning offense, and raising your fists in a faux fighting pose. “Let’s go, you and me, right now,” you said, oblivious to the ironic fact that you just challenged a vampire to a round of hand-to-hand combat.

Viago laughed at your actions and nearly moved to join in on your little charade, but played dumb instead. “Go where? On a date?”

You mentally scolded yourself for teaching him basic rules of sarcasm and modern dialect. His joking inquiry, however, reminded you of the current situation you were in. “Yeah, shit…speaking of that, shouldn’t we be on our way out by now?”

This time, it was Viago’s turn to feign offense before speaking; complete with a dramatic hand over his chest. “What, you don’t want to be fashionably late? It’s like…one of the best things about me being a vampire–we’ve got literally all the time in the world for these types of things.”

You smiled at his proposition. “If you say so, but seeing as you just took off your coolest accessory, I don’t know about the whole ‘fashionable’ part…”

“What do you mean? You’re my coolest accessory,” he said, before his face dropped at how strange that sounded out of context. “Uhh, in a totally non-creepy and 100% fueled by my undying passion and love for you type of way.”

You crossed your arms and shook your head. “You’re killing me, Vi.”

“Well, you’re technically the only one here who even has the ability to be killed, so-”

You grinned throughout his reasoning and then cut him off with a kiss. His lips were cold, like normal–a feeling you had come to love. He moved to deepen the kiss, leaning down and gripping your waist to steady you as you moved against each other. Viago’s kisses were never short of phenomenal; the man literally had hundreds of years to perfect his craft. The coldness of his lips and touch contrasted perfectly with the fire and warmth he so often fueled inside of you.

As you began to get lost in the moment, a bite to your lip brought you back to reality. You pulled back, at first offended, but when you felt the familiar sensation of blood rushing to the location, and Viago’s fixated stare at your lip, you went in for another kiss. This time, however, Viago honed in on the spot where he previously broke skin, and when he pulled back you watched as a drop of your blood dripped down his chin.

Damn, you shouldn't have thought that was hot.

No, like, you really shouldn’t have, cause Viago could literally read your mind. And judging by the way he made a show out of the way he slyly wiped the crimson liquid off his chin, only to bring his fingers up to his lips for a taste, he definitely just did.

You crossed your arms again, with a pout. “That’s not fair!”

Viago shot you a confused look, and removed his–now clean–fingers from his mouth, wiping them on his coat that was still covering the mirror. “What? I thought you liked it when I did that…”

You raised a hand to your forehead in defeat at his lack of knowledge in the realm of human social cues, and sighed. “It wasn’t that Vi! I was just going to say that it’s not fair you get to fuel my fantasies with all your, uhhh…” You paused to search for a better word than what came to mind but decided against it when nothing else felt right, “...vampire-ness, and I can never seem to do the same for you.”

Viago started laughing in a way you had never seen before; like a full on maniacal, if you didn’t know this man you would run for the hills, type of laugh.

“What’s so funny, Mr. Cullen?” You asked him, confident that your jab would snap him out of his fit of laughter.

It certainly snapped him out of it, but of course he had something witty to say in response. “Wait, did you say, uh, Mr. Cullen? As in like the dad from those movies? Darling, I am not offended in the slightest cause, oh, that man-”

You swayed on your feet as you attempted to ground yourself in the current moment, anxious to hear how tonight would pan out. “Viago, my darling, I really do not need to know about your Carlisle Cullen fantasies right now; that is a topic for another time.” He wiggled his eyebrows at your interest, before you continued. “I just need to know if we are going to this thing or not.”

He noticed the anxiousness in your tone and reached a comforting hand out to rest on your arm. “Yeah, of course! I’ve been looking forward to it for a while now. The others are already waiting outside.”

“Really? I mean, we shouldn’t let them wait much longer then, huh?” You said, handing Viago his overcoat.

He gladly accepted it, pulling it around his form. “Oh and in case you didn’t gather this from literally this entire conversation…” He paused briefly to secure his arm around your waist, before continuing. “You look absolutely amazing tonight, and you fuel all my fantasies.” He then leaned down once more, and with a wink he said, “and then some.”

You glanced over your shoulder at the uncovered mirror, seeing now how wonderful the two of you look together. “You know what? After all that, I think I’m going to have to say I agree with you.”

“Glad you can finally see where I’m coming from, my love.” He said, with a kiss to the temple as you hurried out the door.

akihiko and mitsuru got arena era characterization blasted it's actually really sad he is not protein. she is not a helicopter mom. they are equals and friends who respect each other. please get the memo. most of the others' characterization seemed fine but man they got the worst of it

it's really funny that akihiko has gone from best to worst party member. i'm thankful to be free from the shackles that forced me to use him. i beat nyx with junpei aigis yukari. ken and yukari i swapped between for other fights.

yukari is one of my favorites. and she still is. i'm kind of bummed they made her nicer though

this is my first time actually saving chidori. ok time to mention junpei's new english va did a banger job. most of the cast in general killed it. shoutout to yuko (strength sl) ? for an unexpected banger of a natural sounding voice? anyway junpei's second theurgy. goes hard.

i still dont care about koromaru nothing could make me care about koromaru he's cute. i guess. lol. i like that you can pet him.

KEN AMADAAAA. ken. ken. ken. ok FIRST of all he's usable now! yay! i love having non-instakill light and dark skills. SECOND of all oh my god the first couple ranks of his not-SL drove me crazy. i went Uh. Uh. Um. it's like awww he likes featherman :) oh. yeah. this ten year old is actively planning a murder-suicide. he wants you to look after his hamster named hamburger if (when) something happens to him. i have such a big soft spot for ken he is my favorite child soldier. jesus christ. slightly sad that they removed some relevant dorm dialogue. i dont have the fes screenshots on me those are on my old laptop. but trust that they are missed.

i'm not a true shinji-er, frankly i mostly care about him (and akihiko) just through his relationship with local justice kid ken. it was nice hanging out with him though...jumpscared by his smile. his last hangout event (the post-mortem one) was good. oh yeah he's such a strong battler i wish i could keep him around. his theurgy is over the top with the bloody tear but i love that lol.

they actually fucking did it. dude. they actually fucking did it. throughout the hangout i was like okay which 5 royal writer was working on this because this is some pretty good bait. and as it progressed i was like there's no way they're actually going for it, right? man they went for it. ryoji makes good on his word that he would love mc whether girl or boy. love wins. or loses i guess. good fucking content. movie ryomina is still on top but well that is the movies and this is video game. and this is the first time minato and ryoji can actually hang out in a video game. i love you bisexuality

A surprise ask game! List 10 facts about your ocs and then tag 5 other people to learn things about theirs!

(I actually got this a little while back but forgot about it, since I'm getting tagged a lot this week, figured might as well do this one too now lmao)

I decided to pick 5 characters with 2 facts about each, as I have so many lol

1. Yoruga’s name, Yoruga Shirushi, is not his real name, but the name he chose for himself after leaving his birth family behind.

2. Yoruga is basically his bestie Kiyoi’s wingman, often helping him with his crush issues (and he does do the same with the said crush who’s also his friend lol. It’s basically that Toothless meme of hiccup being in the bush like “You’re doing great buddy!”)

3. Azul, (one of my older characters I haven’t drawn that much lately, I’ve abandoned my boy oh no :(( ) used to be single and not meant to have a love interest, but then I realized his dynamic with Diojas (another oc of mine) was far more fun than shipping Diojas with Azul’s brother, so I changed it lol

4. Azul has changed the least visually from his first appearance out of all of my characters; I only really upgraded his outfit somewhat.

5. Toshiko’s voice claim is Rukia from bleach; their personalities are somewhat alike, with both appearing serious at first glance, but also having this kind of awkward side to them.

6. Toshiko is often VERY embarrassed by her little half-sister Akiko’s shenanigans (they share the same dad but have different mums, their parents had/have a polyamorous pan relationship, which means the mums were a couple too, not just a case of a dude with two wives), though she does actually genuinely appreciate her efforts in trying to bond with her.

7. Jurou’s relationship with his mother was strained at first (this is a recent story update for his BG story I’ve decided to make, as the current one needs too much suspension of disbelief in some aspects) and he can still sometimes be a bit harsh towards her.

8. Designing him was super hard, but once I got it he became one of my favorite characters lmao, Spider Dad is just too much fun to draw

9. Belladonna is probably my most well-rounded villains so far, lot of her actions/reasoning feels fairly believable and human, namely bad choices/bad stuff humans can do willingly. It all also ties well to her personality and feels consistent without too much need for suspension of disbelief; I still need to work on the other ones more in comparison. (this is all stuff only in her bio so far, but I do want to draw some things pertaining to it eventually)

10. Belladonna is one of the few villain characters in this “story” that if this was a real manga/comic, she would not get redeemed in the end, namely because I feel her character doesn’t require it. Unlike some others, all the bad things coming her way were caused fully by her, by her own knowing actions, by her refusal to take responsibility, and even now she doesn’t necessarily regret them. (not saying you can’t redeem characters like this, but I personally wouldn’t feel the need to do that for her in my own story lol)

Have I ever told you how much I love that they gave Hiro a big yellow bow in his middle school idol outfit

I love him! He's ADORABLE!!!!!!! I wish there was merch of him in this outfit, it's 100% my favorite of his. I've definitely posted about this bow before, but when do you see a masculine character that you're supposed to take seriously in a big bow. Never. And then they made him wear it again in Pride the Hero. He genuinely looks amazing in it. It's a big poofy yellow bow, he looks like a tiny soft boy. It's great. I headcanon that he continues to wear this outfit at Over the Rainbow lives when him and Kouji sing Pride together, forever. Like I want a 26 year old Hiro still wearing this knock off school uniform and big yellow bow. And the crowd goes CRAZY.

I've also posted about this merch before, but this is my favorite merch outfit they've ever made for the guys. Hiro with his hair up 😅 I think it looks so good. The different style for Kouji's hair is really great too. You never really see anime guys with different hairstyles, but I really like the ones from this collab. But their entire outfits here. Hiro and Kouji are wearing matching leopard print belts, insane. What a fashion take, why does it work. Hiro is in a crop top here btw!!!!!!!!!! Like it's hard to tell because of the jacket but crop top Hiro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yeah I actually love everything about these outfits so much. I want a street Over the Rainbow song that we never got but deserved. Kazuki center Over the Rainbow.

Something I was thinking about the other night was how Kouji and Kazuki both have pretty consistent symboling, at least in King of Prism anyway. I would argue Kouji doesn’t have a symbol in Rainbow Live. But in King of Prism Kouji is associated with honey, honestly not in the show but in the fandom, right. Because of that famous post where the person was like “Honey came out of his ass!” I still think that phrase is really funny. And Kazuki is really simple, he says burning, his thing is fire. But with Hiro I think we see the symbols associated with him evolve over time. It started with the yellow Rose and the use of yellow with him, we don’t necessarily see the yellow fade away, like I’m assuming the in-universe fandom still gives him yellow roses quite often. That’s just one of his idol things, like idols have callouts and a Hiro thing is that his fans give him yellow roses. But when Over the Rainbow starts he gets this heavy association with apples. It has to be an Adam & Eve, I’m pretty sure it’s an Adam and Eve thing, but I haven’t really figured it out. He’s Eve and Kouji is Adam? That’s what it is right? But what? I don’t know, it’s a stretch, maybe it isn’t an Adam and Eve thing, but my symbolism brain has a really hard time seeing someone take a bite out of Apple and not thinking it’s in Adam and Eve thing. But then there’s the third symbol and in my opinion the best one, or if anything this is the symbol of post-character arc hero. Like SSS era Hiro is heavily associated with crowns. Because he’s the King. Like specifically this style of crown:

And I never complained about it, but my personal gripe is that I think the traditional pointed crown is a lot less ugly LOL. But that’s irrelevant, regardless I think associating Hiro with crowns points to his character arc. That he overcame all of his struggles in Pride the Hero and came out a stronger person. I also just think this was his transition into an adult. I mean they probably officially said his age in Pride the Hero at some point, I’m pretty sure it’s 17, but he turned 18 in October of that year. And in my eyes him becoming the Prism King is him becoming an adult. It’s him casting aside the immaturity of childhood, and like committing to the things he loves. Committing to his job, his friends, his idol group. He is not a highschooler who can be manipulated anymore, he’s not a kid from a broken home. He’s an adult who won his life back. He’s overcome tragedy and this is his crown. Well not the one in the photo above, that’s from Prism Rush when they did like a fantasy thing, let me find a picture of his actual crown. I’m literally staring at it irl because he’s wearing it in a piece of merch that I have in my room.

I NEVER NOTICED IT HAS A HEART ON IT????? OH MY GOD WHY IS EVERYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH HIM SO ADORABLE

Anyway he deserves the crown. His arc to Prism Cup winner is stronger than Aira's imo (because Rhythm had the stronger arc in PR:AD heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy) It was clearly set up for him to win from the beginning but you can tell he's really the director's baby boy character. No other character could come close to winning.

In 4 years when he's 21 there is a 1000000000000% chance he wins again. I think Kazuki will be worn down by then (it's not that he's gotten worse it's that he spends a lot of his time working with kids and would put that before training). Kouji doesn't have the dancing or jumping skills. I think he knows that though he'd still try and try harder than anyone but Hiro. Yuki could maybe do it, but I genuinely think he's the only Septentrion boy who has a shot currently, the rest of them aren't focused enough on Prism shows and specifically that skill. And like ofc Shin could be cheezy prism power winner but idk he seems kinda like Kazuki in that his focus is spreading the love of prism or . whatever instead of actually grinding out skills in being a performer. I think even good guy Alec is still too destructive/wild to win though he could second place.

Apparently the Joji/Ace duo is actually super skilled? like based on their score in SSS. But that's TWO PEOPLE idk gang I love them but I want Ace before he turns 20 to realize that maybe he should sing for himself (I do love their duo though I just want it to be healthier for them both). Can Louis still jump? Does he still do prism shows after SSS? Something tells me no, but I mean who knows.

Anyway Hiro would win :) I want 21 year old Hiro to kick 16 year old Yuu's ass. I want Kouji to give 120% and still get his ass kicked and have a character arc where he has to realize like, he can't win but Hiro couldn't win without him, he's literally singing his song.

I am not kidding when I say I think about the next Prism King Cup like daily. I think the ages of the Septentrion boys works really well for a story there. It's not that I have it fully planned out, it's that I think through every kind of situation that could happen. It's so good.

They look so dumb. These 3 18 year olds are the most famous idols in Japan (I think Kazuki is 19, who cares.)

If they're 21 for the next Prism King cup, and (I'm rereading this like an hour later and I forgot you can drink in japan at 20 oh well,) after everything happens and they're just relaxing together again the night of the performance, Hiro and Kouji get fucking SMASHED. They just have that vibe. Kazuki either parties with them or is straight edge, I flip flop on that characterization for him. I also think all the girls are with them at that party, and it's like "mweh ur only 20 u can't drink," but Wakana is the type of 20 year old to NOT care and drink anyway, and Kouji is 100% slipping Ito drinks when only the two of them are looking. The other girls don't seem like drinkers. Bell is probably a wine mom later in life. A wine lesbian if you will.

The last thing I wanna rant about is that one group photo where Kazuki is getting his feet smashed, where is it.

Imagine if I had this saved instead of just googling it and scrolling every time.

Look at Hiro's stupid little hat. Look at his wink! No wait look at his hat, that's amazing why did he wear that?

Kouji ur looking the wrong way your boyfriend is on your right. Unless you're actually looking at Kazuki being tortured, then carry on.

This is probably the best Kazuki vs Kouji height photo, because with the whole group Kazuki looks SO SMALL. The girls are all in heels but I mean that gives them like once inch. He's so short. I love it.

Like you could be saying "Kouji is looking at his girlfriend and she's holding his arm hmmm," And I'm over here saying "Kouji is wearing MATCHING ROSE PINS WITH HIS BOYFRIEND," any questions?

I just realized these are different suits then the suits they wear in that one OTR business intro in SSS. I know cuz I have a standee of those suits lol. I guess they're famous they probably need more then one suit. Hiro and Kouji's are worse here, but Kazuki's is better for the bowtie.

Actually I lied, Hiro and Kouji have better colored suits and waistcoats above, but I really like their gay matching roses idk.

I don't have a conclusion for this post, it's just a bunch of random observations I have on my mind constantly about Hiro. In conclusion, Hiro Hayami is gay. or bi idk. I feel like he thought he liked Bell but comphet. So he calls himself bi, but let's be honest he's only dating Kouji. Or Kazuki i'm down for the street kings ship. Kazuki and Two H. Or he's dating both of them, I'm a very pro poly person.

God I could talk about Two H or Poly OTR for a long time, but I wont today I will stop typing. Sorry about my hyperfixation!!!!!!

I am roughly 5'11 and on the heavier side but happy with it. I tend to either wear a lot of black and look completely grunge with boots or I'm that dad wearing graphic tee with any special interests on them with basketball shorts and some crocs.

I do have some on and off weeks of where I don't take care of myself that well, yet will tell others to do so for themselves all the time. I also am like a mellow pitbull that will growl deep to freak people out for either laughs or to scare someone straight.

I do joke around a lot and may sound super impolite, when really I think I didn't say anything bad til I see the looks on people's face. I do really care about others a lot tho, so I tend be quiet around new people. If I'm around friends I will talk my head off if they let me.

And I have been told I have resting bitch face too, so combined with my grunge look, I look like a killer when I'm thinking of what's for dinner and fiddling with my favorite fake pearl necklace or making a random meme of a cat on my phone.

me writing an actual fic?!?! lol, I hope you guys like this that jolyne one is coming soon with a similar plot to this one cause I think it works with them both tbh anyway I hope this is good!!

Gyros boots clicked against the porch of the saloon. The loud music inside was slightly muffled due to the doors. He was upset, angry even. some rumors have been spreading around about him and he was sure he knew the person who was telling.

Practically kicking open the door multiple heads turned to see the cause of the loud noise. gyro scanned the bar with a huff finally catching a very familiar set of eyes that had barely spaced him a passing glance.

The music kept going as he made his way to you, a few people went back to their conversations while still focused on him, and his footsteps quickened. Reaching out he grabbed the back of your shirt spinning you on your barstool.

Gyro stalled a bit, as the bartender left from behind the bar yelling at the two men to break it up. His face quickly turned a bright pink almost burning red.

"We have some business to work out, this one right here has been spreading some rumors about me that aren't quite nice.." his sentence was drawn out more and more as his grip returned back on your shirt and got tighter and tighter pulling you closer maintaining eye contact.

"Not in my bar you aren't, I'm going to get the sheriff this instant!" All of the patrons had quickly run out of the saloon due to being wanted or just to avoid being involved. The band made their way into a backroom and the bartender keeping his word made his way out of the bar to the sheriff's office which was pretty far and would take a while for him to arrive. The retreating footsteps felt as if they were thundering due to the silence.

The blond man turned back to you dulled anger in his eyes as he was practically between your legs holding the collar of your shirt in his hands. With your back against the bar, all you could do was grin at him.

"Well gyro, you have me now... what rumors have I been saying huh?" Your tone was mocking him which sparked back most of his anger.

"we'll I've heard some people talk about the little meetings we've been having! I didn't take you as the type to kiss and tell (name), and I don't take kindly to those types!"

your head fell back with a laugh, the laugh he loved to hear. It was beautiful, and that smile across your face, no doubt you were the prettiest boy he's ever seen, but he wouldn't admit that at the moment.

"Well Gyro, I haven't said anything I keep out little 'meetings' to myself, have you been doing the same?" the grip he had on you loosened as he took in this information. Then who was?? he sure wasn't, he likes these meetings between you two he didn't want to mess that up.

"Of course, I've um been keeping them to myself it's rude to expose people's personal life." he was no longer gripping your shirt, his hand just rested against your chest, his thumb caressing the soft skin which was exposed from the opening of your shirt.

"Well, then we just have to be a bit more careful cause that means someone has been seeing us." he nodded more focused on your outfit. The button-up you wore had more buttons undone than usual which definitely caught his attention. His eyes wandered further down, his other hand lifting

"Stop staring cowboy, I just said we need to be careful.” You gently pushed gyro back to stand from the creaky stool.

“Come on the sheriff will be here soon and,” you lowered your voice slightly leaning in closer to the blond man, “ my place isn’t too far from here, why don’t you join me?” You spun on your heel not waiting for an answer.

episode 2, and I just noticed the episode titles that call the flashback b plots minisodes. what's that about?

(side note: I remember this Flood adaptation movie that had emma watson in it. noah wanted to kill off all the humans and just let the animals survive. he said while watson was pregnant that if her twin kids were boys, they could live and humans would just die out. but if they were girls who could grow up to be mothers, he would kill them. and I'm like, implying that their father/grandfather/uncles would be the ones impregnating them? nevermind the incest, what about the age gap??? but anyway)

ofc when gabriel claimed to be an expert in human birth I immediately thought of mary, but that hasn't happened yet. I mean it makes sense that this idiot would think eve counts, but couldn't he at least make it to cain??

there's something to be said about this story and elspeth's story connecting virtue with economic status. aziraphale appears to think about that when it's pointed out, but takes entirely the wrong lesson from it, as we see with elspeth later.

"but no one would ever find them- actually that's a great idea" it reads as aziraphale not wanting to deal with gabe's bullshit rather than agreeing with it, as though he hasn't done variations of the same thing for years. I still laughed tho XD

oh hey, "every day" was gonna be the original opening song for the first season! what a cute reference that will likely have little to no further relevance!

this was the point where I was like "why the hell is crowley just hanging out in that same alleyway all the time? wait a goddamn minute, did shax take his apartment?!"

aziraphale really took that "see you in hell" seriously though huh.

the gentle, simple way he says "I don't think you'd like it" hurts me and heals me.

"you're not like me because you're a demon, you're like me because you don't want to toe the party line." y'know lining up their meetings - the wall of eden, the ark, and now this - must paint a very interesting picture of aziraphale for crowley. we always thought that crowley fell for this angel nigh immediately and spent the rest of time orbiting him. now I think aziraphale fell into crowley's orbit, and crowley gradually learned more and more contradictory (and therefore interesting) things about him. like the shelter of the wing, it's all reversed in this season.

Spider-Man Read-Through 012: Hmm watcha say... (ASM 88-92, Ann 7)

In this post, we're here to DO CO---I mean, Doc Ock is here.

We get some real nice art in this batch, so check it out!

See, Otto has been hustling and busting to increase his Bluetooth range and finally, after months, succeeds in taking control again of his mechanical arms.

Spidey thus does his best impression of a Japanese erotic doujinshi.

That's a great panel.

The arms escape, but more importantly: Gwen has a great new outfit! Love it.

Pete also has a great outfit later.

The yellow jacket/blue pants works exquisitely, obviously, but the sweater below, and the black tie over a white shirt... It's great.

So this issue's about Ock hijacking a plane where coincidentally a Chinese general has also boarded, and Otto uses this to blackmail the US and get money. A bit of racism (unsurprising), a smart idea (Spidey assassin'screeding his way to the plane) and nice outfits prevent this issue from being completely unmemorable. Otto has been through an explosion, but come on, it's not the last time it happens. He'll be alright. He's a big boy.

The next issue doesn't waste time with this either, since Spidey is once again fighting Ock on its cover, no less!

Randy's back, which is great.

We also get a very nice, if a bit overdone, panel.

On one hand, this issue is almost 100% action, which I dislike. On the other hand, we get fantastic perspective art.

But in the next issue, D E A T H A W A I T S.

I haven't had readers' letters for two issues now, I wonder if my scans are missing them or if the editors didn't have time for this.

Peter faints because a battle that takes a full issue is just far too long, and this gives us a nice waking up scene, although now I feel like Spidey is constantly sick or weakened.

Peter still hasn't told his secret to Gwen's father (he HAS to know though, right?). The artists are clever and they beg me to forgive them for last issue by providing both male physique and very nice colors.

It admittedly works. The colors, not Petter's too defined chest.

To beat Otto's impressive continent-wide Bluetooth skills, Peter invented a counter-measure: Bluetooth, but better! He No Way Home's Otto's tentacles and takes care of him.

Anyway, the tentacles go amok and Captain Stacy jumps in to protect a kid from rubbles and HE DIES. BUT NOOOOOT BEFORE REVEALING THAT HE KNOWS PETER'S SECRET. YES.

The letters are back, but they're not particularly interesting to me.

It's issue 91 one time, and what better way to close the year (December baby) than with a burial!

Gwen is furious at Spider-Man, whom she believes is responsible. So she's proactive and decides she's going to help Mr. Bullit at the local elections. Spidey's going to be fucked and she's making sure of it!

Bullit is making his greatest impression of the French government circa 2017-2027 (I will say no name, but those who know, know) and I'm having flashbacks. According to Robertson, he's "a fascist" and "still living in the 1930s". It's heartwarming to know that a century later, my government would be at the same point.

Jameson argues that maybe things were better before, to Robbie's face, which is truly outlandish.

FLASHBACKS, AS I SAID.

The issue was more disturbing than enjoyable.

In the letters, William Fesselmayer thinks that Hobie has to have guessed Spidey's identity, and I'd reply to him that he probably doesn't care. Someone else actually roleplays as him in the letters with the same "I figured who he is!", lol.

The readers are absolutely obsessed with the mechanics of Spidey's shooting mechanics, whereas I truly don't care about it. Like, it's a subject mentioned EVERY TIME.

In the penultimate issue of this post (92!), Iceman is here and considering he woudn't come out for another 4-5 decades, he's a jerk.

Look how he is, pretending he's straight!

Bobby's a breath of fresh air, literally but also figuratively. His powers are entertaining to see, after so much of Otto and Kingpin.

Meanwhile, Gwen's no silent observer. She very much channels our dear Natasha.

Meanwhile...

Wow, this is getting real, folks. ASM really starts affirming its politics from 1969 on.

It's page 10 and Iceman and Spidey are fighting for the second time in the same issue, and it feels endless.

And Robbie's kidnapped! Fuck.

But this panel ruined the tension and made me snicker.

Like I said, Iceman is a very pleasant addition to this otherwise... complicated arc. But what do I see? THE PROWLER'S BACK!?! Makes sense, given he was very popular (and rightfully so!). But he's going to be for the next post. We have Annual 7 to go through before!

I've read the first two stories before (as they're reprints from the very first two issues!) but not the last one, "A Guy Named Joe" (since I didn't read #38). So let's read it!

This is one issue before Norman reveals to Peter he's the Green Goblin. What a great guy indeed!

A protest scene that is sure handled differently than in 1969, huh!

MJ hadn't been showed yet! But she sure had a bust already.

Fun issue, nothing much to say, Joe Smith is an obvious name for an anonymous guy. It all ends well!

Overall, a mixed batch. It felt a bit too heavy at times compared to real life. Oof. Not that I necessarily disliked it...

hmm... the only versions of Bem i can think of are the 60s one and the 2001 one (though i do see a bit of em in tima metropolis) and i actually haven't seen the 2001 movie hehe ,, so i don't think i can pass judgement here BUT. 60s bem is perhaps my favorite astro boy character Period, and the 2001 version would have a hard (but not impossible) time beating the original with regards to their weird alien magic, their apathy in response to catastrophe, their grace in self-sacrifice, whatever the FUCK they were doing with gender, and their relationship to atom. ough. i want to find a method to save them at the last minute and then adopt them and let them enjoy human hobbies forever. here have this bem i doodled last night

actually in the process of getting that screenshot i reread The Entire Atlas Story. not as silly as i remember! he serves as sort of an introduction to the capability of robots to do evil on purpose. he's capable of evil thought because of the Omega Factor (not to be confused with the Omega Radar, which atom and cobalt use to find each other), which his creator also wants to put in atom, so that they can help him get revenge on colonial/imperialist society (one of tezuka's semi-successful attempts at commenting on systemic racism). its implied that atlas is capable of good, too, he just hasn't been introduced to it. he gets fucking disintegrated btw.

that serves as a very good intro ramp before the Blue Knight Saga and its approaches to good amd evil, and tezuka's preferred order puts it shortly before, likely for that reason. I'm not sure how to feel about the idea that atom isn't capable of evil, and what that might say abt how "advanced" he is- i like to think he's capable of evil, and actively chooses to be good, but whatever. also im just gonna say it this design is ugly as fuck lol

80s was fun. kinda fused atlas and blue knight into the same character? ive never gotten the chance to see the anime episode with small atlas, so i only know his lore from the 80s comics, which i bet is different and siller. he's like atom, except he needed a special 8th power, and his creator decided that would be pissing on things to blow them up? "Like a cicada"? ok . he drank ink once. i love him. hes like jetter mars to me. anyway. as an adult in the anime he did surprisingly well as a long-term antagonist for astro. it's hard to take that damn show stylishly, but i did cry in the finale when atlas declared himself atoms brother. i liked the idea that they were going for, where the two have a lot in common both physically and mentally, and this omega radar ties them to each other unendingly, but atlas will always have a grudge against humans and atom will always love them? that's great. but i feel like they didn't explore it much, and a lot of it was just Come Fight Me I Fucking Dare You (maybe also to mix in Pluto with atlas and bk? saving on voice actors lmao). and i don't even know what was going on with Livian. shrug. congrats to atlas for having a third boob added though!

now 2003. OUGH 2003 did so nicely as an addition of previous atlases. they kind of departed a little bit from previous versions by having him be, for instance, a creation of tenma, but i don't dislike how they used that change. the way they took the "im just like you" thread that they started on with 80s and amped it up by making atlas not only the second robot ever to be made with the same heart/adaptability as atom, but also to be ANOTHER desperate failed father's attempt at fixing his mistakes, resulting in a new person coming out of the ghost of his neglected son?? he's not just atom's foil to the viewer, he's atom's foil to tenma. he leads up perfectly as the step before Pluto (before Shadow) and before Blue Knight in introducing robots capable of evil to society, in introducing robots who don't want to be nice to atom, and in developing tenma's obsession with evolving atom to greater lengths. here's a vengeful robot with the memories of a vengeful son. here's a robot too powerful for atom to fight without, somehow, growing. here's a victim of the growing anti-AI tide. here's someone who's just like you, here to warn you that something bigger is coming.

also he looks cool as hell. shoutout to 03 atlas

(1/1) Hello, first I want to say this message isn’t meant to pressure you or anything. I struggle a lot with writing anything, so it’s important to take your time. That being said, I just wanna say that Cat Dragged in the Trickster might have the best Ren characterization ever. He’s the perfect blend of the sad boi typical of nonPT!Ren, and the "I decide what I do" of Joker. He has that sass, class, and a pinch of crass. He’s confronted by the PT and chuckles in their face and calls them out.

(2/2) Also hilarious? Ren “I’m going to eat you first” and “aight, personal issues, imma head out” Amamiya! Also very dramatic “I must have the devil’s luck” and “I was born to play the villain’s role” mfer. Arsene Lupin indeed. But he carries an undeniable undercurrent of sadness, esp. in regards to his arrest. He longs to belong but is blocked by his fear of rejection and lack of self-esteem. And he is just. So casual, so accepting about it, which is the worst part.

(3/2 oops?) And the way this is all done? is SO subtle, just like how canon does it. About 70% of the time he provides very bland and almost aloof responses, but that makes the 30% moments of vulnerability, deviousness, and sarcasm really out and provide a delightful look into him. It is an amazing case of indirect characterization and is DELICIOUS. And the mystery! Half of c7 is Ren ): and the other half is WTF, Ren? Again, I hope this doesn't seem pushy or pressuring, and if it does I'm sorry.

No it does not come off pushy or pressuring at all, and thank you so much for this ask! It's really sweet. I'm glad you've enjoyed Ren's characterization! With him joining so late and after Futaba even, I wanted him to keep some sass (even if it's sometimes a front) partially just because the sass is fun :), but also to explain why Ann and others managed to notice him throughout the year without really realizing he might be having issues. (Especially once they got Futaba, who'd probably speak up about sadboi Ren.) And lol bouncing Ren off a Morgana who's defensive about his identity and how Ren found him was just too funny an idea. Morgana all "I COULD BE A MONSTER" and Ren's just thinking "you are one-tenth my size and sleep in Takamaki's desk half the school day. I'm supposed to be scared of you?? After that reaper thing??"

Side note on the "Arsene Lupin indeed" bit: at one point someone asked if he would have a different persona because of him being AU'd and I kind of panicked like "wait SHOULD it be different?" I believe it's @muzzleroars to thank for getting me to read some of the Arsene Lupin stories and there's actually a line that I feel perfectly fits what about Ren the au is emphasizing so yeah he's still going to have Arsene once he awakens lol. Arsene really does just work for the outlines of characterization we get for Ren so well.

THE MYSTERY... no you're not pressuring me, I do that well enough on my own sometimes--a big part of the delay is that I keep thinking maybe I haven't set things up well enough for what I want to do, and at one point I was even considering if I should just divert the plot another way, but I really do want to go all in on why Ren's having trouble with his outfit and awakening and is having some weirdness outside the metaverse. So I think...I just gotta take the risk that the next chapter might not be as good as I wanted to get it done, but I really do hope to get it done soonish, and thank you for the lovely ask!

Hello Enstarries~☆ It is the next unit, Akatsuki! I don't have anything to write here as an introduction anymore but leaving it empty is weird, especially with the lengthy disclaimer. So, I'll just babble a bit here. As of now, the first shuffle event is here! I am aiming to get Kaoru! Idk if I'll actually like him as much as I hope but I like the song, his card is pretty and I can always use another Glitter 5☆ rn. I hope he won't be too expensive....

This is not an accurate description of any characters but my subjective rambling for fun, so please don't take it too seriously. (Just to be safe, I'm kinda scared of elite idol fans) Also, you will hear me mention other games a bunch of times bc I'm that bad and uncreative at explaining and I'm still grieving A3!EN's shutdown. Eng is my 2nd (or 3rd?) language.

I love traditional japanese music mixed with modern, or to be precise, hearing kotos and shamisen playing with modern intruments in modern tunes. It's just SO cool and beautiful, just what their unit theme is, according to enstars wikia. I like the majority of their songs. As far as I know, akatsuki means dawn or so (Akatsuki no Yona = Yona of the Dawn), which explains their red theme. I like their outfits quite a bit as well. Kimonos are SO pretty and I like their more loose approach to it. All the colors work so well together! Oh, and I thought it's cool how they danced with swords and fans (like in Love Live or Pretty Rhythm). Anyways, weren't they one of the ruling and oppressive units in the "!" era? Yikes 😬 Well, they're good now.

8/10 - really like their music and the members are kinda funny

He is, what one and he himself would call, a hobbyless person. Anzu just asked him why he was sitting alone and he went on and on just to say he didn't know what to do with his free time lol He looks so boring at first with his student council president look and aura but the fact that he masks his awkwardness with long paragraphs and lectures, plus he likes comics, reminds me of Sakyo (A3!), which makes him funny again. It even fits with the I-used-to-be-an-evil-boss or whatever happened in the "!" era. And what's up with his points system 😂 Does he have a whole book with everyones' names and points inside it, that he carries everywhere? Would have an actualy blacklist. Or maybe even: Dear Diary, today Miss Producer made fun of me :( Gosh, Leona (Twst), his VA twin would fold him in half in a second. With all of that done, I like his voice. It's a weird mix of being high and deep at the same time but not really and it feels like drinking cold water.

6.5/10 - pathetic funny man I'd be too scared of him in rl tho bc of his authorative air

Kuro Kiryu

Kazuma Kiryu?!?!?!?! (Yakuza series) Big scary looking guy who changed his way of being a gangster to being a big dorky softie 💕 We love to see it. Big bro, likes sewing, caring, hubby material He may not be a man of many words but that's OK, I'm sure his actions prove his good intentions. He seems like he can cook and do housework. Probably has a single father. I love this trope of scary giant with a heart of gold so so much He's also ambitious enough to pursue both being an idol and designer!!! Literally a fusion of Yuki, Omi and Juza (A3!). Is his hair color red or black? Whatever it is, I bet if a card of him with his hair down comes out, everyone is gonna go crazy (me included).

8/10 - good boy, I'd pat his head

Souma Kanzaki

He never grew out of his chuuni phase and even went as far as to get an official license for his sword, if that isn't dedication idk what is. -insert meme of a guy cutting cake with a giant sword but instead it's a fish and his katana- He's like Gakupo (Vocaloid) but real. May or may not be friends with the ninja guy. He used to have a lot of friends in elementary school but then became a loner, is what I imagine. Dude didn't even realise people were kinda put off by his sword. If he has a license, then he practices kendo, right? He can actually wield it, right? If he also likes swords a lot and not just being a samurai, he'd have a field day with Touken Ranbu. His voice is softer than I imagined it to be, it has a pudding like texture.

7.5/10 - part of the drama gangy, would be the uncle kids love only for his cool things

Conclusion

They can live perfectly fine in a house with just the three of them without burning it down. We have a cook, smn who does the paperwork and finances, and a handy guy. Honestly, still a pretty normal group here. I can't wait for more songs of them to come.
