#look at the ghouls in fallout 1 as well

Does anyone else randomly just remember The Slog and just think that is one of the best minor settlements Bethesda has ever made?
They're a settlement of ghouls, a minority that is shunned for who they have become from no choice of their own, and have made a name for themselves. The name being a bit.... rude without context. But when you ask Wiseman about the name, he mentions people will trudge through the mud, never had to slog through so much mud, to get to them to buy their produce. Berries of all thing. The best in the commonwealth. Becuase they're smart enough, human enough regardless of their current status, to come up with a way to cultivate a staple crop of the people in the area. In a abandoned God damned swimming pool as a controlled hydroponic garden. Which is pure genius in an apocalyptic situation btw.
They've done so much good for themselves, I'm surprised they even accepted the help from the minutemen in the first place, regardless of the "in a minutes notice" protection.
Everytime I think of them, I get so emotional and proud of them for making it as far as they have. Most of them being refugees from Diamond city, kicked out after Mayor McDonough's anti-ghoul campaign, and they have come up with the most genius ways of agriculture the common wealth has seen in a hot minute that even the in game dialog mentions. And they have even made a name for themselves and are able to actually support themselves with something as simple as farming a small harvest crop.
Anyway, it's one in the morning and I'm emotional over ghouls in a video game, Goodnight lovelies <3

Now travelling companions, the Ghoul and Lucy bond as she reminds him of his daughter...

His daughter would think him a monster.
He distorted his own mirrored image by thrusting his cupped hands into the small puddle of water. Slurping loudly, he pretended not to be listening to Lucy’s rambling. He was though. But his mind was also very distracted by other fears…
Other fears than the Brotherhood having Cold Fusion: unending Power both through electricity and control over electricity. People in the Wasteland wanted – no, needed power. With power comes food, water, shelter... And with people wanting it, the Brotherhood can take control of people. As if they didn’t already. Anywhere they went, they seized everything in the name of their so called brotherhood.
Lucy thought this was a pretty good thing but-
"Ain't nothin' good gonna come off of the Brotherhood in charge." The Ghoul stood up with a groan, wiping his mouth dry with his sleeve.
"Maximus is a good guy."
He began walking with a roll of his eyes, the girl following him quickly. "A couple good guys don't stop all the bad."
Lucy had wanted to keep arguing, to keep defending those knights that seemed to be nice and helpful to the people from what she had seen so far... but that was just it, wasn't it? She'd only really met Maximus, and briefly that Thaddeus guy. She didn't actually know what the Brotherhood was. Her silence gave that much away. He smirked a bit, but didn’t turn his head to check on her. That might make her keep talking.
But that wasn't what had silenced her. It was the Ghoul's tone. Lucy had travelled with the man for quite some time before their current deal of companionship, and now it had been a couple of days. As mysterious as he tried to be, he really wasn’t. It was easy to read him. When he meant something deeper, it was obvious in his voice. There was an intelligence behind all that gun wielding aggression. He knew things. And it was obvious to Lucy.
"Were you speaking from experience?"
Cooper offered her one confused look, then went back to his own things.
“Earlier when you said those things about the Brotherhood and ‘one good thing’… Were you speaking from experience?”
The Ghoul looked up at her from where he was setting up camp. Setting up camp really only meant tossing his bag down and telling CX404 to go hunt for her own food. But he'd gotten comfortable resting against a boulder, seconds away from tilting his hat to pretend to go to sleep...
The Ghoul never slept. Lucy wondered if that was a Ghoul thing...
"Mind yer own damn business, little lady. Or you'll get into trouble I can't save ya from."
Lucy lifted her chin at those words. "Well, I'd argue I've proven I can handle myself, thank you!"
"When?"
Lucy stayed quiet for a bit. "I've survived up here for a week."
The Ghoul laughed at that, muttering out a ‘surviving?’ to himself.
Much to Lucy’s relief, though, he rested back and tilted his head to "go to sleep". Miffed, Lucy laid down on her spot in the dirt, her bag for a pillow. They’d only been travelling for a little over three days. The trauma of finding out about her father’s deeds, and her mother… well, it was present. But she was keeping it suppressed. It wasn’t a healthy approach to it, but what else was she supposed to do? Have a breakdown in the middle of the Wasteland? Prove to this Ghoul that she couldn’t handle the surface world? Find a therapist?
Were there therapists up here…?
Ugh… She hated the surface.
....
Lucy awoke with a start in the middle of the night to a loud BANG.
Scrambling up to a sitting position, she grabbed her syringe pistol and aimed it at the sound. The darkness of the night made it all even more disorienting, not to mention CX404 was barking like crazy next to her.
Slowly, though, she came to her senses. An explosion somewhere far away. A large cloud burning orange filled the sky, illuminating Lucy, the dog and the Ghoul with an eerie light.
"Ain't nowhere near us," the Ghoul said out loud. If Lucy didn't know better, it sounded almost like he was trying to calm her down.
Slowly, she lowered her pistol. The orange cloud was illuminating their surroundings just enough for her to be able to tell that the Ghoul hadn't moved from his boulder. But he was looking up at the sky too, just like her. It was, briefly, like a sunset. But it wasn’t quite as soothing as one.
Her pip boy began to peak, alerting her to radiation.
Great.
Slowly, she lifted her thumb up to the cloud-
"What're ya doin'?"
Lucy didn't notice the Ghoul snapping his gaze over to her like he'd just seen a Feral sneak up on them. He stared whilst the light slowly dimmed around them again…
"Just something my dad taught me. I think we're good." With that, she smiled at him before the darkness completely encompassed them again, then laid back down. She was expecting the Ghoul to ask more questions about her action, but instead:
"'S what I said," the Ghoul muttered under his breath... but he was still staring at where he'd last seen her.
Damn... that brought back memories...
...
"Daddy? Is it mine or your thumb?"
With a start, Coop awoke from the nightmare. Didn't matter how many centuries had passed. That always returned to him in his deepest, darkest nightmares. The boom. The power of the aftershock. The strange smell in the air. The sight of the entire city crumbling…
And his poor daughter, clinging to him: her lifeline. The one person she thought would keep her safe no matter what. The one person who should keep her safe from anything and everything…
He stopped his memories before they could get worse. Because worse they got. He instead tried to bring himself back to present times: pain, fear of turning Feral, MacLean…
Lucy.
He watched her sleep, innocently with her mouth slightly ajar. His daughter used to look like that sleeping too, hell… she even had her mouth slightly ajar. Especially when she fell asleep in the backseat of his car, all snug and strapped in safely…
Would his daughter have become like Lucy? Would she have tried to beat this ugly world with kindness? Like she used to do as a child?
Or... had his daughter become that? Had he missed her entire life? Because…
No- Don’t bring back those memories…
What sort of a father could he be now anyway? He was a Ghoul. Slightly more smooth skinned than others, thanks to all those years of cutting at him… but still a Ghoul. A monster.*
Shit…
“Are you okay?”
The Ghoul snapped out of it.
Dammit.
He’d not managed to shake the memories after all. Lucy had awoken to find him staring at her, wordlessly.
“Why wouldn’t I be, sunshine?”
Lucy watched him with that sympathy no one in the Wasteland had. Especially not for a Ghoul.
He scowled at it, almost scoffing, as he stood up and grabbed his bag. CX404 sniffed at his hand. He offered her a pat on the head.
“We should get a move on.”
“You said…” Lucy didn’t move to get packed. Instead, she continued to watch him with that goddamned sympathetic look in her eyes.
There were no therapists in the Wasteland.
“You said you had a family? That my dad might know where they are?”
Coop bit down hard as he eyed Lucy with harsh eyes. He desperately tried to warn her off from trying to talk about this. Not because he’d lash out though. But because he’d not be able to keep his emotions at bay.
“Maybe.”
“Do you have kids?”
Coop stared at her. Was she telepathic? No. that’s not something they did to Vault dwellers, right? Or..? “What’s it to ya?”
“Maybe this is going to sound crazy but… Sometimes, I feel like you do this thing only a dad would do. Like… Calm me down when I’m not even aware I’m freaking out. Just with a couple of words that would… that would be enough to calm a child down that depended on you. Like last night.”
What had he done last night?
“I just mean…” Lucy sighed, something in Cooper’s silence making her uncomfortable. Good. Maybe she’d stop talking about this. “If you have kids, I’ll try and help you find them. That’s the deal, right? We’re working together because our targets are in the same location. But I can help more if you need it.”
That… was the opposite of what Coop thought she’d ever say to him. “I’m sorry, ain’t I the one that sold ya fer drugs?”
“Yeah,” Lucy agreed with a nod, “but I’m sorta starting to get that this is what you have to do to survive in this world.”
“So yer gonna trust me now? Then ya ain’t learned nothin’.”
Lucy shrugged. “And…” She glanced down at her hands. She had this awful habit of picking at her nails. For someone who had smooth skin, she was awfully intent on making sure it wasn’t smooth.
He’d never noticed her finger was back. Though it wasn’t hers. Necrotic. Rotting.
Curious.
“My dad did horrible things just to get to my brother and I so… I get it. I guess. I don’t condone it. But I get it.”
Coop didn’t like that. He couldn’t exactly point out why, not consciously, but he knew he got a strange taste in his mouth from those words, even if she hadn’t meant anything bad by them. “Now, listen to me, little lady.” He pointed a gloved finger down at her, stern, serious: “There do be a whole lotta shit I’d do fer my little girl. But it don’t involve blowing up an entire civilisation jus’ ‘cause I ain’t getting my way, or whatever the hell his problem was. I was divorced. It’s ‘bout talkin’. Not…” Well, could he really say his divorce had been like others’? Not really. So he couldn’t really preach on that end. “I wouldn’t kill innocents. I’d kill a whole lotta bad people, though. Your dad is just trash, got it? Don’t be deserving yer kindess no more.”
Lucy stared at Cooper after those words.
“What’s that grin fer?”
“I knew there was good in you. I mean… I really really really doubted it, but no one is completely bad.” She stood up, collecting her belongings with a spring to her steps. “Thanks.”
Cooper stared at her with narrowed eyes. “Did ya hear anythin’ I jus’ said?”
“Yeah, I did.” Lucy beamed up at him. It almost annoyed him. Almost. “My dad’s an asshole. It’s not normal. I kinda… needed to hear that, in all honesty. It makes going after him a little easier. And you are nicer than you let on.”
“I ain’t nice.”
“Yes you are,” Lucy said with a wide smile. “So come on, big guy. We’ve got a lot of ground to cover today.”
She began walking, but Cooper was quick to reach out and stop her. He wasn’t done with this conversation. “I’m sorry I sold ya.”
Lucy offered him a gentle look. “I know.”
With that, Lucy started walking. Cooper waved for CX404 to follow along, and walked after Lucy. It was silent, which was when Cooper’s mind always began to do that damn thinking of his. Lucy was gentle, truly. And if such a gentle soul, someone like his own daughter’s, could accept Cooper for what he’d become…
Maybe his daughter wouldn’t think him a monster after all.

Spark's Art Commissions
Commisions are: OPEN
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What I Draw
All Fallout, all the time. I've played every Fallout in existence (except that Tactics/BoS bullshit) and I love them all - yes, even 76. Fair warning: I'm less well-versed in Fallout 1 & 2, what with it having been a couple decades since I played either.
Interested in non-Fallout art? Doesn't hurt to ask.
Who I Draw
Your Fallout OCs and fave companions. As long as it's a character I can find enough reference for online, I'm good.
Looking for more examples of my work? Here they are.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prices (USD)
Tumblr media
More details on terms, what I will and won't draw, what I need from you, etc below the cut.
Payment is currently only available through PayPal. I'm looking into other payment options, such as Ko-Fi.
What I need from you
your faceclaim(s). If they're not someone I can easily google, I will need a few clear photos from different angles. Don't have a faceclaim for your OC yet? This is a great place to start looking
in-game screenshots are sometimes useful, so include those as well if they look anything like your OC. I will always prefer real human reference though, so please give me a faceclaim!
basic details: height, build, age, hair color/texture/style, eye color, identifying marks, etc etc etc. For companions, give me your headcanons on any details not provided in-game (or if you headcanon something differently), or I'll use my own if you don't have any
what outfit(s) they wear. If it's vanilla/Creation Club/Atomic Shop, just the in-game outfit names will usually do (i'll tell you if I need more)
any personality traits, background info, or quirks you want to share are absolutely GREAT and help me breathe a little more life into a character
if I'm drawing them with a companion, tell me a little about their dynamic
Will draw:
your Fallout OCs
their companion(s) (including ghouls)
weapons
some blood/gore/injury
sfw romantic content
Difficult areas:
curly hair - I'm trying, I'm learning, but it's harder and might take me longer
Super Mutants - haven't tried yet, but it can't be that hard
artistic nudity/pinups: I'm really out of practice, I make no guarantees
Won't draw:
anything racist/queerphobic/transphobic/bigoted/etc
minors
backgrounds. There's a reason this is a serparate, specialized job in animation and comic studios
nsfw romantic/sexual content (I don't have a problem with it, it's just way outside my wheelhouse. I'm learning.)
excessive blood/gore/injury (again, outside my wheelhouse)
creatures (same reason)
IMPORTANT STUFF
What you get
high-resolution digital art (A4/8x12" at 200dpi for busts, minimum of 12x12" at 200dpi for half body and up) suitable for printing for personal use only
If you'd like me to crop you an isolated closeup of a character for use as a profile pic, I'm happy to do so at no extra charge
my work always includes my signature watermark; you may not remove or modify it
you're not required to credit me if you share it on social media, but of course I very much appreciate it if you do, and a link back to my tumblr along with it will earn you my undying love and gratitude
What you DON'T get
the right to modify, redistribute, sell or in any way profit from the work or products derived from the work (you can share it on your socials or post it with your fanfic and that sort of thing, but you can't sell stuff or give things away with my art on it). If you are interested in licensing for prints, stickers, or any other digital or physical merchandise (even not-for-profit), please let me know so we can discuss licensing terms. The 'no redistribution' rule does include gifting. If you're interested in, for example, printing stickers with my art of your OC to hand out at comic con or something, please contact me.
copyright/intellectual property rights. It's still my original artwork. As such, I am free to modify and distribute it in any way I see fit, including for profit.

Fallout 4 companions reaction to crushing on sole who despite being a playboy who sleeps with mostly any man or women attractive are dense to see their interested in them and sees them only as buddies as a result
Maccready
MacCready would be very annoyed by it, and he'd make his annoyance known, He'd bitch at them for ditching him for some random hookup for the thousandth time, but he always hid his anger under the guise of teasing. He's actually pretty annoyed, though. I mean, would it kill them to just go to a bar and drink a beer with him? He normally wouldn't care who his boss was screwing, but his feelings for them would complicate things...even though he knows he has no right to feel that way he still feels himself getting more and more agitated every time they flirt up a stranger. He would find himself putting more and more ungodly amounts of alcohol on his tab whenever they would disappear and numbing the sting of rejection until he'd inevitably drink so much he'd blackout.
Hancock
Hancock wasn't shy when it came to flirting, and he had been flirting with sole since the very beginning and when they just laughed his advances off he just assumed they were the more quiet and reserved type, and took it as a challenge. Well, apparently, that couldn't be further from the truth. They were in the third rail, flirting up a stranger at the bar. His bar. Hancock knew he wasn't exactly easy on the eyes, and by no means was he God's gift to the commonwealth, but it did hurt that they didn't even give him a chance, especially when he didn't just want a quick hookup from them, but actually had caught feeling.. He knew he had no right to feel the way he did, Hell, he was known for getting around himself but a little voice in the back of his head kept on nagging that it was because he was a ghoul, and if he still had a set of smoothskin things would be different... He'd do everything he could to drown the voice out, emptying canister after canister of jet, but he still couldn't shake the feeling that he wasn't good enough for them.
Cait
She'd ball her fists and grit her teeth every time she saw a stranger getting too close, logically she knew she didn't have any room to judge them, was she annoyed that all her flirting was lost on them? Yeah, but she knows you can't force someone to feel something. If there's one thing Cait values its freedom, and she would never want to take that from someone like it had been taken from her so Cait would just make herself scarce when they were flirting with someone so her anger couldn't get the best of her
Danse
He'd give sole a whole lecture on how unsafe it is to be alone and venerable with someone you barely know, especially in the wastes. Danse really wouldn't be consciously aware that it may be his own feelings causing him to feel that way, and would genuinely belive he was looking out for his friends safety even if the pit in his stomach and burning in his chest said otherwise.
Curie
She watches the people sole flirts with very closely. She's curious to see what they all have in common (if anything) making mental notes on their similarities and differences, she'd tell herself it was just research, but the very detailed list of soles favorite attributes lying in front of her said otherwise
Deacon
Deacon had never been a jealous guy. With Barbara, he never had to worry, and since then, he'd never cared enough to be jealous, so it's safe to say this was a first for him, and it was absolutely infuriating. He'd watch them flirt up another random stranger and despite himself he'd tense up, abandoning his usual poker face, though if sole noticed they didn't seem to care as they got up to leave with yet another of their countless hookups. Deacon would end up distancing himself from sole for two reasons, 1. Because he can't let shit like this get to him, he's a railroad agent for fucks sake and 2. it hurt to much to be around them. He'd take more jobs from hq, and for the first time in a while, he'd find himself drowning his troubles in alcohol.
Piper
Piper has had a few crushes before, so she was used to the feelings, but what she wasn't used to was how goddamn inferior it made her feel every time she saw them with someone else. They were friends after all and she knew she had no right to be jealous, but all she wanted was for them to look at her the way they looked at all the random people at bars or at settlements. Even if it was just for a second... she wanted to know how it felt to have their undivided attention and adoration. To be theirs even if it was temporary.
Nick
Nick would always give sole the same line, "Just be safe kid". They'd always role their eyes as they walked away from him, but he'd always be stuck worrying... not everyone had the best intentions out in the wastes and when you're as infamous as sole that puts a target on your back. Maybe it was just all the cases he'd work that made him so cynical, but then again, that nagging feeling in his chest was a pretty dead give away that maybe it was more than cynicism keeping him up at night....
Preston
Preston wouldn't say anything to them at all. He cared about sole a lot, and all he wanted was for them to be happy, even if that wasn't with him. It hurt a lot, but he was used to pain, and for sole, he'd endure anything
X6-88
He would hate it. The people of the commonwealth were vile and undeserving of even a second of soles time. He hated how much time they gave strangers when they could be doing important work for the institute. He'd have a firm talk with them about where their priorities lied. He wouldn't even be able to process that maybe his own feelings were what was clouding his judgment.

Learning from Silicon Valley Bank's apologists
Tumblr media
My weird hobby is taking pictures of signs, especially “vernacular” signs, handwritten and odd. The best kinds of signs tell you what other people think you are thinking, or what you don’t understand. I’ve nabbed over 4,600 of ‘em:
https://www.flickr.com/search/?user_id=37996580417%40N01&sort=date-taken-desc&text=sign&view_all=1
If you’d like an essay-formatted version of this post to read or share, here’s a link to it on pluralistic.net, my surveillance-free, ad-free, tracker-free blog:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/03/15/mon-dieu-une-guillotine/#ceci-nes-pas-une-bailout
I think you learn more about the world by delving into others’ misconceptions than you learn from their factual understandings. Facts are out there for anyone to discover, but when someone inadvertently affords you a glimpse into their wrong beliefs, well, that’s something that can’t be learned in any other way.
Which brings me to the apologists for Silicon Valley Bank, who are busily churning out incredibly revealing bad takes about why bailing out SVB was the right thing to do, and why you’re wrong to call it a bailout, and why all of this is Very Regrettable but nevertheless The Right Thing To Do.
Here’s a terrible reason to support the SVB bailout: because if we let all the tech companies who did business with it fail, you might not be able to get into your house anymore after your smart-lock fails because the cloud service it depends on cuts off the startup that made it because their bank account went up in a puff of smoke:
https://www.wired.com/story/silicon-valley-bank-collapse-fallout/
Look, if you think the fact that my Internet of Shit door-lock failed because the company that designed it made no plan to let me into my house if they went out of business would make me sympathetic to that company, you are out of your fucking mind. If that happened to me, it would make me want to tear the lock out of my door, hunt down the CEO of the company that made it, set the lock on fire, and throw it through their front window.
Here’s another terrible reason to support the bailout: if SVB’s depositors lose their money, every other large depositor will flock to Morganstanley, on the theory that Morganstanley is too big to fail, and will behave just as recklessly, but will never be allowed to go under precisely because they are so structurally important:
https://marginalrevolution.com/marginalrevolution/2023/03/can-the-svb-crisis-be-solved-in-the-longer-run.html
I’m pretty sure this is true! It doesn’t make me want to support an SVB bailout though — it makes me want to break up Morganstanley, regulate the everlasting shit out of the resulting fragments, and create massive public banks that are run by and for their depositors, insulated from the reckless, speculative conduct of these maniacs who keep crashing the world economy:
https://prospect.org/economy/2023-03-15-federal-reserve-banking-public-option/
One more very bad reason to support the bailout: “it’s not a bailout.” The Biden administration wants us to know that SVB’s creditors and shareholders aren’t being bailout here, just the depositors — everyday folken with more than $250,000 in liquid cash in their checking accounts. Whomst amongst us can’t relate to that?
https://www.nbcnews.com/meet-the-press/first-read/biden-administrations-message-dont-call-bailout-rcna74628
There are a lot of totally normal people who would suffer if not for this bailout — the people who clean the toilets or answer the customer-service calls for tech companies aren’t stock-option-fattened bros in Patagoinia vests. They’re totally normal working people who took no risks and bear no responsibility for the failure of SVB.
But come on. Does anyone seriously believe that the absolute fucking ghouls who came out against a barely-there student debt cancellation as a precursor to literal Stalinist gulags are advocating for endless billions for SVB’s depositors because of the janitors?
https://www.forbes.com/sites/mattnovak/2023/03/12/larry-summers-says-now-is-not-the-time-for-moral-hazard-lectures-about-bailouts/
Listen: people aren’t pissed off about the bailout because they want startups to fail. They’re pissed off because they are living in the century of “socialism for the rich and rugged individualism for the poor”:
https://www.reddit.com/r/LateStageCapitalism/comments/iaqdrl/as_martin_luther_king_jr_said_in_1968_this/
They’re pissed off because the Treasury official who presided over the theft of millions of houses by corrupt, bailed-out banks after the 2008 Great Financial Crisis and then wrote academic articles defending the decision to “foam the runways” for the banks with everyday Americans’ homes is about to join the Federal Reserve Board:
https://pluralistic.net/2023/03/06/personnel-are-policy/#janice-eberly
They’re pissed off because Biden reneged on his promise for muscular, sweeping StudentDebtCancellation in favor of a self-immolating weaksauce version that would barely dent the crushing financial devastation faced by millions of young people:
https://pluralistic.net/2022/05/03/utopia-of-rules/#in-triplicate
Only to have the illegitimate dotards of the Supreme Court make even that symbolic gesture moot:
https://www.npr.org/2023/02/28/1159606491/student-loan-forgiveness-supreme-court
(As to what Biden should do about it? The same thing Trump would: Pack the court. Pack the fucking court. Pack it. Just do it. The court’s legitimacy could not sink any lower. There is no downside. Do it.)
The rage at well-capitalized startups being rescued from unearned distress isn’t motivated by a free-floating techlash rage at “bros.” It’s rage born of the fact that young Americans are being put on the hook for their dead parents’ debts:
https://pluralistic.net/2021/05/19/zombie-debt/#damnation
There is infinite political will and bottomless appetite for money creation when VC-backed companies face distress, but when the death of your parents is followed by years of brutal debt-collector armbreakers chasing you from phone number to phone number, it’s just crickets.
There’s no question that the SVB failure resulted from a series of extremely technical phenomena that offer a fascinating peek into the behind-the-scenes forces that power an economy built on private banking and home ownership as the sole means of intergenerational wealth transfer.
But the fact that this is a complicated circumstance doesn’t mean that laypeople don’t have a right to be furious about it. We should all be suspicious of the inevitabilist narratives of the “experts” who claim that none of this could have been avoided:
https://prospect.org/economy/2023-03-15-qa-daniel-davies-venture-capitalist-bailout/
When finance “experts” tell you that you have no business opining on this highly technical matter, just remember that these are the same experts who were paid fantastic gobs of cash to certify that all these failing banks are just groovy, mere weeks ago:
https://www.wsj.com/articles/kpmg-faces-scrutiny-for-audits-of-svb-and-signature-bank-42dc49dd
Those same experts were caught bribing government officials to help their top staff cheat…on ethics exams (!!!!!!!!!!!!):
https://pluralistic.net/2021/06/04/aaronsw/#crooked-ref
Even if it turns out to be true that the kind of risk that SVB was exposed to is an inevitable consequence of an economy built on private banking and housing as an asset, rather than a human right:
https://www.bitsaboutmoney.com/archive/banking-in-very-uncertain-times/
Remember that those choices are not inevitable. The decision to make housing the primary driver of intergenerational wealth transfer is both recent and very, very stupid:
https://gen.medium.com/the-rents-too-damned-high-520f958d5ec5
Private banking doesn’t need to be an unregulated free-for-all, nor does it have to be the only game in town:
https://publicbankla.com/
As SVB’s apologists insist that tech startups should be preserved lest our IoT gadgets brick themselves, or that SVB should be preserved so that the Morganstanley cancer doesn’t creep into more of our social organs, or that bailing out SVB is acceptable because it’s to defend elite startup founders, not ultrawealthy bank owners, they are missing the fucking point.
But they’re missing it in a useful way. Like any weird sign, these bad takes teach us a lot about how the people who utter them model our own beliefs. They think that people like smart gadgets. They think that we don’t want the finance sector reformed. They think that we’re motivated by schadenfreude, which means that they also think we’ve forgotten about broken student debt promises, about robosigning and the foreclosure epidemic. They think we are fully onboard with rugged individualism for the poor and socialism for the rich.
These bad takes reveal a profoundly out-of-touch elite, the spiritual descendants of the French aristos who went to the guillotine with sincerely baffled hearts, unable to imagine why anyone would be this angry at them.
Upton Sinclair said, “It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends on his not understanding it.” It’s even more difficult to get a one percenter to understand something when the system that insulates them from the endless, spiraling economic wreckage of our new feudal economy is on the line.
Next Monday (Mar 20), I’m doing a remote talk for the Ostrom Workshop’s Beyond the Web Speaker Series.

‘You know, now that I think about it, I think Cooper Howard might have been my first ever, honest-to-goodness crush.’
The ghoul considers getting up and leaving. He considers burning the trailer down with them both inside it. Maybe he’d let the dog out first, if he was feeling charitable. Anything to get her to shut the fuck up.
But Lucy won't stop.
‘He’s the perfect - well, you know.’
He can’t help himself. He doesn't know.
‘The perfect what?’
‘The perfect man. ’
She’s barely done speaking before he lifts his gun and shoots a hole in the tv screen. There’s the splintering sound of glass, a dissatisfied electrical death, then nothing. Lucy’s standing. She doesn’t look surprised, or pissed off. He expects her to whine or yell at him or go back to sulking.
What he doesn’t expect is for her to laugh.
It only takes two steps to get to the sofa - another one to drag her up by the arm and slam her up against the kitchen counter, a whole week’s worth of frustration billowing up into a white-hot rage.
‘How long you known? Hm?’ He wants to keep the anger out of his voice - but what would be the point? He’s already shown his hand, pushing her around like this, her whole little frame enveloped by his big, B-movie monster body.
She doesn’t seem to care. She’s still laughing.
‘I figured it out around the time you cut my finger off.’
Funny, he wants to say. That’s around the same time I actually started to like you.
I wrote a fic in which Lucy and the Ghoul watch a Cooper Howard movie. Things go downhill from there.

Fallout show impressions (spoilers ep 1&2)
Much like Righteous Gemstones, Walter Goggins steals the scenes he's in
The opening bit is really good in setting the tone where you're just waiting for the bomb drop, and I look forward to seeing gifs that break down the good editing and use of reflections
Same thing with the vault wedding waiting for the other shoe to drop, since no one ever leaves a Vault happily. Where the show shows tattoos and scars that Vaulties wouldn't have but Raiders would, so there's a horror to watching Lucy sleep with a guy who isn't who he says he is even before the knife comes out
The show takes place 14 years after Fallout New Vegas, I'm surprised there's still a Brotherhood of Steel presence like this but I guess it makes sense if this isn't a world where the Pridwen was blown up and Maxson was killed (my default FO4 state)
The razor blade boot scene was brutal god the Brotherhood of Steel is so fucking toxic (very accurate!) where I'm genuinely not sure if Maximus did it
Ep 2 the opening musical montages worked. Fun on point lyrics "some folks can lose the blues in their heart" as we see something blue on screen and we see the Enclave Scientist target get a quite literal "Pet the Dog" trope moment. The fadeout of "don't fence me in" where Lucy takes in the horror of family dead at the dinner table with the "Vault Tec Econo-Savings Poison".
The comedic moment of "It's a Man" as the music contrast as Maximus has fun with the power armor that also shows how much of a threat it makes someone.
me: why does the scientist guy seem so familiar, oh it's Harold Finch!
Great to see greenery, like obviously stuff would have regrown but the non 76 games don't show it
Guess the armor can go for longer than 10 hours one one charge? Like Maximus did not think armor support through like he thinks the Brotherhood won't still kill him even if he brings back the target
Very fun to think about what perks the characters spec'd as, like The Ghoul definitely picked Grim Reaper's Sprint, and Lucy seems to have Weird Wasteland
had to look away from the leg device, even the sound effects were awful. Of course it's replacement limbs made for the army and they are shit
LMAO the powersuit can't go up wood stairs just like 40k
lmao the scientist would rather take cyanide and die than explain any mysteries
Overall the show pulls off swinging between camp and being dead serious especially going through sex, violence, and horror moments. As a show it's well done, but it's wait and see if they make any dumb lore writing choices

Fallout
5/5 (Spoilers)
Okay I’m posting a lot of perfect scores but man I’m I just enjoying the media I’ve been interacting with.
I’m gonna start with the look of the show. As a fan of the Fallout game series, I adore everything the sets do and every prop. It’s so perfectly accurate to the game and I found myself getting excited about things like the vault walls looking just like the games. This show also does a great job of throwing in items and references from the games without it feeling like “Hey! Look this is from the game!”
I think my favorite part however was the main three characters. Lucy was super likable and relatable, and I think she did very well as the shows vault dweller pc. As for Max, I wasn’t sure how to feel about him when the show started, but over the course of the 8 episode I grew to love him and how he interacted with Lucy and the rest of the fallout world. The Ghoul was awesome. I spent the whole show excited for every scene he was in. He is a badass and I love it so much.
One other thing I really liked was the respect to the series. Given I’m not an expert, but I know my fair share of the fallout lore. I also think all the fanboys saying the show disrespects it are overreacting a bit for two reasons. 1.) Every time a video game show/film comes out the basement dwellers come to shit on it (and also any woman or queer person associated with it for some reason). 2.) I think it does just as much as Bethesda does for the lore. Bethesda does a lot, but I feel they often focus more on releasing an unfinished game than caring about their IPs.
All in all, I think this is a great addition to the fallout universe, that keeps the core parts of the games that make them good and transfers them well to the show. It’s funny, it’s badass, it’s heartbreaking, and all of the in between. Most importantly, I had so much fun watching this show. It invoked the same feeling as playing one of the games for the first time. There was so much to discover and I felt right there with the characters in discovering it.

So...that new fallout show huh? Arceus help me I'm back on my bullshit. I'm only like three episodes in but I LOVE it. And of course my pokemon loving ass couldn't resist this. So far The Ghoul is my favorite character, so I've decided to do his team first! I'm actually gonna do two teams for him, this one being the Ghoul and the other being Cooper. Without further ado:
Team Ghoul
Tumblr media
1. Mudsdale
Tumblr media
This one was the first one I decided on for him. If you think he wouldn't have horse like pokemon on his team, where is your head? Not to mention Mudsdale is pretty tanky and can take a hit like it's nothing. I imagine this is probably his oldest pokemon from his current team (probably the last surviving one from his previous team). Mudsdale is deeply loyal to his trainer and does his best to help when he can.
2. Flygon
Tumblr media
This one was a little last minute but I actually think flygon would be really cool and really convenient for him to have. Little dude is good at retaining information as well as keeping tabs on targets. Flygon is rare in the wasteland, as many trapinch don't survive long even in those harsh conditions. I actually headcanon that this was a reverse catching: Cooper got caught by a trapinch and was like "welp, I can't get you off so you're coming with me". Flygon is a little speed demon as well, which is also very convenient.
3. Kabutops
Tumblr media
Okay so this one I had to actually think about. I'd imagine fossil types would be impossible to bring back now but this is my blog so if I want Cooper to have a kick ass kabutops he's gonna have one...okay, okay...look dude needs a water type pokemon and I actually forgot kabutops was a water type. I feel like it would blend in and adapt pretty well to the wasteland. Being water type is incredibly useful. The fact it looks cool is just a perk.
4. Steelix
Tumblr media
Caught as an onix, this pokemon is mudsdale's rival in terms of strength and loyalty. The first pokemon to be caught for this new team, he evolved it after searching every-goddamn-where for a metal coat. Steel type pokemon are rare in most places, most having been hunted to near extinction for scrapmetal/parts. I'd imagine this particular steelix feels lucky...
5. Mightyena
Tumblr media
Coop likes dogs.
That's it. That's the whole thing...
Okay maybe it isn't. Alright so we all know he likes dogs, and I'll admit it was a challenge to decide what dog like pokemon he'd have. Packs of mightyena are common, so I Imagine coop was able to snag a poochyena from its pack and raise it as his companion. He knows ice fang, which surprises folks who dare challenge this thing. Mightyena is also an excellent tracker and doesn't give up once he's on a mission to hunt with his human. He tends to have a sour attitude and sometimes picks fights with mudsdale and steelix.
6. Banette
Tumblr media
Going into this, I knew I wanted to give him a ghost type. Babette is just a freaky little dude that just wouldn't stop following him around. Every team needs a gremlin who causes problems on purpose and this dude is definitely it. He's a pain in the ass but he's a mostly loveable one. Not to mention he's an expert at stealing drugs that coop needs. So he's a lovable, useful, pain in the ass.
And that concludes today's team. I may do cooper's team before the bombs dropped, which will probably be a mirror to this team. Let me know what you guys think ^.^

how would you make fallout better
i mean idk if i have a good way to Save Da Franchise but what i would ideally like for a new game is for Bethesda to 1) break out of the mould they set in 3 + 4, and 2) focus more on making side quests meaningful and in some way thematically intertwined with the main quest.
i think personally if i were to create a sequel my first dictation would be for it to be a territory we flat out haven't seen before and know nothing about, or that has only been featured in a non-canonical spinoff. the north east coast like washington state, somewhere southern like texas, a far northern region like Minnesota. somewhere where there's a drastically different environment and that isn't already affected by established history. that way you can actually build up some new and inspired ideas and i think if you do choose somewhere with a very different biome you can come up with great new monster ideas too, as well as consider new ways that societies could be rebuilt.
i think one of the biggest demands from the fans i agree with is a protagonist who is not a vault dweller. i don't care about this as much, but having a more blank slate character that is given a higher level of customizability is also something i think would be a real mixup for the franchise at this stage
bethesda's last two games have been very heavy on 1) family dynamics for instant drama and 2) the story idea set out in the van buren game docs, which i think at this point is completely tapped out. to me what fallout needs more than anything at this stage is new ideas. my ideal new sequel wouldn't have any of the usual factions in any major capacity (and definitely no BoS), it wouldnt rely on supermutants, it wouldnt be that heavily focused on vaults or vault-tec.
i think that a huge issue fallout 4 had was that it was incredibly set on one way of play and i think after the recent successes of stuff like baldurs gate, disco elysium, and other big indie RPGs, people are responding to that less than ever as you can judge by the lack of success of starfield. fallout 4 was really bad for having any skills or perks other than charisma matter, and they really need to take a serious look at how players interact with the game and what players today are enjoying.
a big issue i had with fallout 4 as well was the reliance on repeating radiant quests that felt very unrewarding and didn't move the story forward. i also felt like there was a clear lack of thought about actually carrying out the philosophical questions of the story... it was a ridiculously complicated narrative for very little payoff and very little creative vision... they would be better off just focusing on a dramatic story that plays with the political goals of different factions and their impact on humanity, which is what i think the best fallout games are about! fallout is about war and fallout 4 was like weirdly about like... espionage? and not even good.
ok. ummm. the other thing that it should have is you should have a ghoul companion you can fuck who is actually sexy and not cringe this time.

Having seen that new article about the fallout tv show, it’s clear it’s not written by someone who knows the series well, but… wow, it does not inspire confidence
So, fallout is a series that’s definitely gonna vary in depiction based on personal interpretation since it touches on topics that are so personal (consequences of imperial violence, the evil of capitalist ideology and American exceptionalism), but if the article is accurate? Definitely feels… off
Tumblr media
Describing the vault dweller character as “doe-eyed” and being sent into a “sadistic, Darwinian remnant of civilization” feels like such a misunderstanding of the themes. In 1, the raider gangs (which mostly went unused due to time constraints) were descended from vault 15’s dwellers just like shady sands/NCR. In 2, vault 8 had no experiment and upper-middle class Americans just gravitated towards being slavers since their culture already taught them to exploit and use others. The California vault dwellers were usually examples of how deeply evil upper-middle class American values would really be in a post-apocalyptic society, held by a population that has no understanding of the outside world or the consequences of their violence.
Tumblr media
Again, adding that this writer doesn’t know the series, but this is set 219 years after the apocalypse. Doesn’t exactly feel great to be like “ah yes, these are rude, immoral, filthy degenerates” about people who are just making their way in life. The appeal of fallout was how it challenged the idea of “the old world was better and ‘civilized’ and everyone now is a vile barbarian”
Tumblr media
AGAIN, I know this writer doesn’t know the series beyond surface level info but it’s so strange to treat sentient ghouls as a rarity when on the west coast, sentient ghouls seemed much more common than feral ghouls (since feral ghoul encounters only had 1-3 of them appear, while entire ghoul villages like necropolis and gecko existed), and acting as if it’s so unusual for a ghoul to be clever and cunning, along with saying it’s because he retains his humanity.
219 years in the future, and it’s supposedly still a lawless wasteland. 80 years in and the hub had already established representative currency with water-backed caps. 160 years in and the NCR had grown a presence and waged war against the slaver guild. 205 years in and the NCR had grown beyond California and were described getting cars up and running again and electricity working.
But 14 years after that… we’re back to LA being a lawless wasteland with a previously undiscovered vault opening. I guess it’s possible the children of the cathedral overlooked it while searching for vaults for the unity, and that the NCR lacks influence in the boneyard/LA region for some political reason, but it’s just… strange.

Hello all before I absolutely destroy this essay I don’t want to do like a plate of very dry rotisserie chicken, I want to talk about my fallout OC Kurt because I need to FUCKING TALK ABOUT HIM OK
Kurt is my 1st generation super mutant that has essentially lived through fallout 1, 2, and new vegas and is now trying to carve his own name into the apocalypse by journeying into New Mexico. He is super awesome and tough as nails and can kill people super good, he is also a pretty bad person with complex morals (if you couldn’t tell that he was from Unity)
BUT thats besides the point, I have been thinking about how Kurt would act around in the east coast (massachusets mainly) and its interesting
#1: Bro would most certainly be hated and given strange glances at. He is a mutant, but he isn’t an east coast mutant, nor does he look like the institute mutants. I feel like most people in massachusets would just shoot on sight (as I’m sure Kurt is probably used to at this point) but I also feel like he can eventually build some kind of rappor with the ghoul communities and more underground areas. Mainly through the fact that he doesn’t smash humans into little gore bags, but also because he is a pretty good mercenary (but he is definitely brutal, being from the Unity and all, so he wont be *THAT* liked)
#2: Kurt would probably go apeshit when he sees synths (the bodysnatcher kind, not the cool ones like Valentine). I feel like the idea of a bio organism that just replaces people (but isn’t absolutely the same) would just flip some kind of hidden switch in his brain that would make him just kill synths with no feeling or regret. My explanation for this is mainly because he is still uncomfortable with his own origins and the fact that he was once a human but now a mutant (he doesn’t hate the idea that he now is a mutant, he enjoys it, he is just disillusioned from the conditions he’s been in), and the idea that synths can pose as a facsimile of another person exactly, yet they aren’t *truly* the same person (because the other person probably kicked the bucket) feels like a major offense to the ideas and concepts of humanity and someones “soul” that he has been mulling over his head for multiple generations. Unless convinced really well, he might just be ignorant to the idea that synths are also people (even if posing as another) but it’d be very difficult to shake off that idea. He’d also just freak out that body snatchers exist in the first place too.

Watched the first 2 episodes of the Fallout show and was pleasantly surprised. I have a few complaints but I actually did enjoy the first episode a lot and the 2nd was pretty decent too
I really really enjoyed the sets, especially the Vault. Really well done and the vibes are perfect. The scene in the farm where the film of the projector burns and looks like bombs going off around them during the raid was great. A touch cheesy but I appreciated it bc I am a cheesy media connoisseur
I really like Lucy and the ghoul (don't remember his name). Maximus is on thin ice cuz dude is... a bit unhinged in the first 2 episodes. But he was raised by the brotherhood so I'm wishing him the best character arc. I am hoping he realizes how shitty the brotherhood is and defects by the end of the season... I'm convinced that's what's going to happen, but we will see what they do.
One scene that made me roll my eyes was the raider husband coming back to life after Lucy cut his jugular so that the dad could get the kill on him. Like why not let that moment impact her more?? Why did the dad have to be the one to kill him? Was it supposed to foreshadow that the dad was a raider or something? Cuz honestly I'm mostly suspect due to the raiders taking him with them, it's classic to have the father be a criminal but he's reformed because of his dead wife and kid... Would be awesome if they twisted it so it's the mother who was the raider, but didn't they already say she was from this Vault and the dad was the one transferred over? Regardless, that totally ripped away a character moment for Lucy. That man stole her kill...
Another thing I didn't like was the appearance of the Brotherhood so soon in episode 1. They appear before the viewer even knows what the wasteland looks like for everyone else. You see the Prydwen before you see your first established settlement and that kind of ruins the idea imo. People are struggling to live, but the brotherhood is hoarding tech. Show the people struggling first, THEN have the Brotherhood appear.
Maybe they're doing it this way because you're supposed to be viewing things like Maximus (loosing his faith in the brotherhood as the season goes on because he was raised by them and was indoctrinated, please, it would be a nice parallel to Lucy), but it still makes the pacing feel off. The friend I watched it with (hi @bautistawithadrive) agreed w/ that and he isn't even a Fallout fanatic. It just feels weird. I get that pacing is gonna be wack cuz it's an 8 (?) episode season, but it just isn't working for me.
The ghoul is fine. His intro scene at the start was cute. I found it interesting the shot of the bombs going off around them, but I'm 90% sure it's canon in lore that the Fallout nukes are less powerful than ours so I have no real complaints. If it's not canon, then it's a widely accepted fanon. I was just confused why the little girl wasn't blinded by the flash because I'm pretty sure there are logs in the games of people who were blinded when they saw the flashes? I could be misremembering tho I don't have enough room for all the Fallout lore in my brain. Anyway it's an insignificant detail overall afaik, so I'm being fussy, I think.
I am kinda bummed the ghoul doesn't look worse tho. Weird complaint probably but I was hoping he'd be a bit more idk... Ragged? Given all the other gore in the show, I was interested to see how they'd do the makeup for the ghouls, but just like nexus modders, they took the cowards way out. He looks (and sounds, oof) like a generic bald dude with some liquid latex on his cheeks and a missing nose.
The best friend of Lucy is another fave, I really.enjoyed every time she was on screen. Good actress, I hope she either becomes a villain (that eyepatch in the end credits bit of ep 2 is throwing me haha) or follows Lucy out of the Vault (or both).
I'm also curious to see where the brother's character is going to go because they could do a lot with him since he was pretty bland at the start. He could follow Lucy out (maybe with the best friend) or start some kind of political change in the people of the Vault so it will cause conflict when (if) Lucy returns, or he could convince them all to leave the Vault. It'd be cool if he found what their specific Vault experiment was meant to be, then either put it in action or made sure no other Overseer would be able to continue it. Maybe I have too much hope for such a short season... But it would be a fun way to introduce Vault experiments to the audience.
One thing I am VERY nervous about is if they're going to make Lucy pregnannte. I could see them doing it bc that sex scene with the raider felt like a Chekov's gun situation (plus the BFF being like "I can't wait to raise our kids together!" which initially had me like 'wait what are they a lesbian couple forced to get with dudes to make babies? That'd be an awesome storyline!' but thinking abt it I'm wondering if it is foreshadowing for the bestie to also leave the Vault and track her down. Which I want to happen, I loved her character). Idk they could have just included a sex scene for the sake of having one... But I'm also thinking about all the morning sickness vs radiation sickness jokes they could be making, so if there is a scene of her puking in the next few episodes (beyond the gore-fest), I am SO calling it
But like to be clear I don't WANT it to happen, usually that kind of thing in shows makes me turn it off immediately because I'm so not interested in watching a character slowly become 2D for a wailing potato we're just supposed to like because it's a kid, so I hope they surprise me, but I also wouldn't be shocked if it did because all the set-up is there 😬

Typos’ Crochet Person Pattern (planned series)
(Currently In Stage 1: Prototyping)
Yes this is massively ambitious and will take a while, but I love a challenging hobby!
See progress posts here: (0.1/0.2/0.3), (0.4)
Tumblr media
[ID: a photo. 4 crocheted people are shown, the one on the far left is the first prototype and is quite misshapen, it is made with white skin tone has black hair. The middle left is the second prototype, it is less misshapen, but the head is too large for the body. They have the same white skin tone, and long brown hair in a ponytail. They have a smiling face embroidered including eyebrows and whites of the eyes and crochet ears and nose. The middle left person is the third prototype, they are better shaped but the legs twist weirdly, they are slightly smaller than the first 2. They crocheted to look like a fallout vault suit. They are of brown skin coloured and have a black moustache, hair that is just different coloured part of head, and eyes wide with surprised eyebrows. The far right is the 4th prototype. It is bigger and is styles to look like one of the aliens from avatar movie. The body definition is better but the head and neck proportions are still too big. They have a black mohawk that ends in a long braid, and a blue lions tail. They are light blue with yellow cats eyes and a pink cats nose and the “:3” face embroidered. they are wearing the brown Navi loincloth as well as arm, leg and torso bands. End ID]
A while ago I was rather sad that I couldn't find any crochet patterns for fallout 4 characters (Danse), and had a 'fine. i'll do it myself!' moment. these will all be mostly single piece patterns as I personally am not a huge fan of patterns that sew a bazillon small objects together, even if they do have excellent results!
Preparing (0.X prototypes, 1.X basic pattern, 2.X basic pattern variants.) for the goal: (3.X Typo's customizable make your blorbo pattern, 3.X specific character patterns by me)
Tumblr media
[ID: a simple transparent digital drawing. A navy blue T51 helmet with orange hoses and a dark green visor is shown. The wearers eyes are looking to the right. Either side of the helmet mirrored, is a pink heart and a large horizontal crochet hook, the crochet hook has a green handle. End ID]
THE PLAN STAGES!!:
[currently here] lock down a solid base pattern! (0.X series)
make some basic base clothes options as a part of the basic pattern. i.e. Undies, shirt and pants, BOS uniform, Vault suit, etc. (1.X series)
post the finished 'Typo's crochet person pattern' (1.X series PATTERN)
prototype some variants such as boobs, fat, skinny, short, tall. etc (2.X series)
Post the finished 'Typo's Crochet person pattern (NOW WITH A VARIETY OF BODY TYPES) 2.0' (2.X series PATTERN)
prototype making the patterns mix and match parts i.e tall person with a muscular torso with skinny legs, or short person with beer belly, Etc. This will likely take a while to make ways for all the variants to interlink, but I have some ides (3.X series)
(this is the overall goal!) post the finished 'Typo's Crochet *Blorbo* Pattern generator' a master pattern on how to link the different pieces of the 3.X series, including a mix-n-match variety of body types, different clothes. etc. this pattern will likely be huge with how many variants I have planned!!! (3.X series MASTER PATTERN)
finally I can make Danse!, and other charcaters (3.X series CHARACTER PATTERNS)
make accessories like jackets, weapons, hats etc. for the 0.3 series as required! or requested??
I hope to make with this pattern eventually / more variants hopefully:
all of the fallout 4 companions cause they live rent free in my brain <3
other fallout humanoid variants like supermutants, synths, ghouls
humanoid Dnd / fantasy variants ie elves, tabaxi/khajit, orcs, dragonborn, KOBOLDS, etc.
will require new designs but also:
fallout robots
fallout power armours
accessories like weapons, books,

tell me about the brotherhood of steel in your head please i want to know so badly
ok so there's a chapter of the brotherhood of steel that exists in the rocky mountain region that split off from the western chapters many years ago and was successful for a while but has been in a slow decline and the nail in the coffin was when caesar's legion rolled into the area and essentially killed the chapter off. most of the remaining members have either been killed or wandered off to other parts of the wasteland. those that stayed with the chapter officially, only a handful, got caught in a radiation storm that lasted for weeks, and it irradiated them so bad they, guess what, got ghoulified. but the brotherhood hates non-humans so they had to do some serious soul-searching and realized that in the beginning when the brotherhood was founded it was more about preserving technology to keep humanity from falling into the dark ages again and preventing another nuclear war. the surviving members of the rocky mountain chapter realized they could continue this mission and further the goals of helping people rebuild even as ghouls.
well then fallout new vegas happens and caesar's legion gets the axe. suddenly the rocky mountain region is up for grabs again. the rocky mountain chapter realizes that in order to have stability in the region, they need to gain control of the area so another caesar doesn't show up and the land doesn't fall to raiders again. they've also heard rumors of a place called vault 0, which was the command center for all the vaults and used to be NORAD, america's missile command bunker. all they know is vault 0 is they key to securing the remaining missiles in america's arsenal and that the place is rumored to be held by the enclave. caesar's legion tried to breach the vault but never succeeded. but the rocky mountain brotherhood realize that if they open their chapter to anyone who wants to join and make a difference, they might have a shot. so they start recruiting ghouls and wastelanders, and even a few supermutants (they build custom power armor for the super mutants, because i think that would be sick as fuck). They even get a few synths who have escaped the institute.
so with their brand new recruits they uncover the enclave and take vault 0 and basically gain control of all the remaining operational nukes and then nobody wants to fuck with them, which is actually fine because they're super chill and interested in actually helping people in the rocky mountain region. but fast forward to them wanting to reconnect with the other chapters of the brotherhood of steel which are either 1) at war with the ncr or 2) asshats. They're basically like "roger maxon didn't die for you to perpetuate the same bullshit that got us in this nuclear mess in the first place" and "not being assholes and racist actually works well in your favor, actually" and decide that with their nuclear arsenal and planes salvaged from the enclave, they're gonna take control of the rest of the brotherhood and put a stop to this nonsense.
so then they show up in Boston and basically tell Arthur Maxon that he's a little racist baby bitch and to sit the fuck down because elder Lyons actually was dope af. and he'd be super disappointed in you if he were alive and hadn't disappeared under mysterious circumstances, arthur. There's also a whole subplot in my head about how arthur got to the east coast from the west coast brotherhood that involves a lot of attempted murder and a hot air balloon but we don't have time to get into that right now.
anyways the rocky mountain brotherhood mary-sues their way into the fallout 4 plotline, defeats the institute with the help of the sole survivor, frees the synths, and makes the eastern brotherhood look like racist fools. which makes them then question everything and makes arthur maxon realize that everything he thought he stood for was a total lie.
idk there are more pieces and it's all very long and complicated and somewhat based on tidbits of lore from things i've read on the fallout wiki and very much existing in my head
but, you asked.

Evil Dead The Game
Tumblr media
Hey there Ghosts and Ghouls! Ghost here and it's time i finally give Evil Dead The Game a review. This is another three subject rate like Fallout 76 since it's a co-op game. Evil Dead the game is like a dream come true for fellow Deadtie fans. They put all of our favorite characters in one game. Well almost all of them since they like to releases them in DLC packs along with a free mission. Main goal for the game is to either defeat the Deadtie with the Necronomicon and the Kandarian Dagger. Unless you're the Deadtie then the goal is to kill the humans before they get the pages and dagger. 1.) Gameplay 4/5 Hats. So the game can be very balanced most of the game but other times it seems broken and unfair. When your the heroes they can either be too strong or weaker than a wet piece of paper. 2.) Story 4/5 Hats. This game doesn't have a normal story mode or Campaign. But they do have little missions that unlock new outfits for the heroes. 3.) Graphics 5/5 Hats. Dont even get me started on the graphics! When i first saw them this thought came across my mind. "With how nice this game looks I believe an animated Evil Dead series would be amazing and look beautiful. Overall this game is a 4/5 Hats but in my heart it's a 5/5 Hats.
