It’s baffles me that people can even tolerate Sera let alone like her. Easily the most insufferable companion I’ve ever had in any game.

Falloutober 2022 Prompt 7: Blossoms
Nora sat quietly in the middle of the clearing. Flowers blossomed around her throughout the small field. She never though she would ever see so many flowers again. It didn’t occur to her that the flowers were highly mutated and likely would burn her to the touch. She just appreciated their simple existence.
Valentine watched her from the corner of his eye. He had seen Nora in a lot of different states since he had first met her. He had seen her in a bloodthirsty rage, depressingly sad after finding the Institute, but this was the first time he had seen her just melancholy. She sat on the midst of all those flowers, lost in thought, almost as though she were the only person left in the entire world.
Valentine pulled his pack of cigarettes out of his coat pocket, pulled one out, and raised his lighter to his mouth to light it. He pulled the air in, and let it out. Only that simple act really calmed his nerves these days, since the nicotine didn’t do anything with his metal body, besides maybe corrode the inside. He glanced around to check for anything trying to creep up on them. There wasn’t anything, but it was best to get moving. He dropped his cig butt and crushed it beneath his shoe, and took a step towards Nora.
“I know,” she said. “It’s time to get going. It’s just so peaceful here.
“’The world is quiet here,’” Valentine quoted.
Nora snorted. “It is, isn’t it. And the world continues to follow a series of very unfortunate events, huh?”
Valentine shook his head. “Not when there are still good people out there.”
Nora shrugged. “Sure.” She stood and looked around the field again. “They’re so pretty.”
“They are.” Valentine looked around again. “We should keep moving.”
“I know.” Nora looked towards where the Castle was and sighed.
“Let’s go and help the good people, then.”
Valentine smiled and followed Nora to where Preston Garvy waited for her.

Nick & Nora Headcannons
Nick Valentine & Nora Sole
Nora mostly goes by Sole, she was the Sole survivor of her vault and she's known by that. She doesn't go by Nora much. It's her name, but everybody mostly just calls her Sole.
It fits, she left Nora behind the day the bombs dropped. Nate died and Shawn missing. She had to make a new life.
Nick became her new life.
They started out as Partners, he was helping her find Shawn. His selfless act in the memory den, putting himself in so much danger for her; that's when she started falling for the old synth.
She and Nick worked more cases together, they set up 2 Valentines their head quarters at their private home together at Croup Manor.
Nick doesn't really like it there, it gives him the spooks; but he likes that Soles happy. They still visit the office and work with Ellie too.
Home though, Nick and Sole aren't really into Monogamy, that kinda thing went out with the bombs. They love who they love, Nick still cares about Jennifer Lands, the love who was murdered by Eddie Winter. Nora still loves Nate, they carry those memories with them. But they also make room for new loves.
Nora is a synth, and slowly comes to terms wirh that. She doesn't know how or why, but Nick is a synth too and she doesn't care, he's still a person to her.
Nick doesn't like it when she does the risky or the overly bloody jobs. He likes helping people and he'll fight like hell, but he wishes she'd go looking for trouble less. Those good neighbor jobs aren't his favorite but he also knows he's just protective of her.
The more Nick discovers his own humanity the more he finds himself in love with Nora. His Sole, his girl, his Partner. They have each other's back. They help the commonwealth because they're both the type who care about helping others.
Nora misses the times when there was built in communtiy, she sees all the fracturing and hates it. So she works hard and takes the jobs no one wants to help synths smd their reputation. She's somewhat of a legend so she uses that to her advantage. When people think good of her she can then share that she's a synth and challenge their ideas of bad evil synths.
She and Nick take jobs and work through the commonwealth issues.
We find Captain Whitlocks message to old Nick together, we keep it in our files at home.  A reminder. The captain and Eddie Winter are as much responsibility for making Nick as the Institute is. We don't forget the corruption of the past, nor its tragedy.
Gets the 10th Eddie Winter Tape
Travels to Croup Manor: we are gonna talk about this at home!
We went home and regrouped and from there decided to take Eddie down.
This was our most important case yet. We still hadn't found Shawn but we had no leads except some random scientist in the Glowing Sea. So we'd been focused on work and Cases: and then we honed in on Eddie Winter.
It was revealing for Nick to figure out who he was and get ownership over his future. We were doing that together.
Nick and I rescued a group of settlers in Concord. We met Preston Garvy of the Minutemen, his group was really traumatized. Nick & I fought off the raiders and decided to lend a hand. I mean, that's what we do. It's who we are, Nick and I escorted their group to Sanctuary, ironic it was my old neighborhood. Where I left so much of myself behind. Their rag tag group has been through a lot. The Quincy Masacre was ugly, and the Longs especially went through it. Hunting for Shawn, missing my son, Mama Murphy least tells me he's alive. The Longs, their child is gone. I can't even imagine their pain. Marcy is very bitter and my heart goes out to her. I tread lightly around her, I try to give her a wide berth so she has space to feel her feelings without intrusion.
A lot of folks out here live in pain, there is not much safety in the wasteland.
Preston seemed like a good sort. So I decided to tell him who I am. My story. He seemed trustworthy and caring to open up to. I stayed and helped them rebuild a bit in the old neighborhood. I can't stand to stay there, but the old place is safe haven for them and they deserve that.
After lending a hand to helping rebuild, Preston needed more help. I have a lot going on, but Nick and I weren't on an immediate case, and Nick likes helping the settlers. We have some of the strongest hardware, tech, and firepower in the commonwealth. If anyone is gonna take on Raiders and issues. It's me and Nick.
I gave the Longs my old house. I made a shrine for their son in Shawn's room. It doesn't bring him back, but I hope it gives them a private place to grieve him.
Jun Long came and talked to me about his son, giving him a space to grieve was a gift that helped me too. Maybe he can grieve for both of us.
The Longs memorial room is surprisingly cheery, except for the headstone. Jun and I worked on it together, after Marcy told me he mostly sleeps in there. We made him a bed there too.
March has a soft spot for kids though, and as Sanctuary began to expand, we decided to make The Little Long Memorial Park, in honor of their son and to make a safe haven so no more children have to die, they can play and live in safety.
I think it helped Jun, we went through Lexington and Concord to Salvage stuff. I even managed to lug a bunch of things from Nuka World and that was such a do to. But in the end, the Park looked great and it was really good to see a smile on Juns face for once. Marcy even cracked a little. She's bitter. She misses being a mother, but she lets all the kids come to Shawn's room, the memorial room, to play and smile. They love the Park too.
I hope I can bring Shawn someday. But even if I can't, we made something safe, for someone.

I've just about ran into the funniest glitch so far in Fallout 4. I was in vault 81 completing quests when just down a hallway I see a familar figure and I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Preston freaking Garvy ominously walking towards me. I didn't have him set as a companion. I've never brought him anywhere near the vault.
To top it off, he stops infront of my very still sole and goes: "at least its not raining."

Things in fo4 cannon I can't stop thinking about
The amount of scared tissue in Deacons face from all those face changes. Ouch
The fact that Maxson is only 20 and already a raging alcoholic
That Nick probably knew Hancock while he was growing up and that's why the two of them are so close
That Deacon is probably older than Hancock
that Pipers dad was probably apart of the minutemen
that Curie probably had ptsd and abandonment issues from being locked in vault 81 and watching everyone she ever cared about die
That Deacon might have a kid....
Prestons survivors guilt and how deeply traumatized he is
That though people like to give maccready shit for being dirty the man's canonically super allergic to dust so he's more likely to be a cluttered kind of messy than actually filthy
both Hancock and Preston canonically crush on sole but are to insecure to initiate it for their own different reasons
That Deacons been to capitol wastland and maybe even the Mojave or at least has deep knowledge on both
That the lone wanderer is technically apart of the railroad...
That Maccready met Butch Deloria at some point and has knowledge of the tunnel snakes
That the current BOS chapter looks down on the Lyons even though they were the best leaders in bos history....
If the sole survivor had died in the bombs instead of being cryogenicly frozen the railroad wouldn't exist because Shaun would have never been used to create Gen 3 synths, the bos would never have come to the commonwealth because there would be no strange energy readings, and the minutemen would have died in the raider attack at the museum of history
Caits backstory is probably one of the darkest and shes severely traumatized by her own past and uses drugs to escape it
That if he has max affinity with sole X6-88 doesn't seem to care all to much about the institute being destroyed
That though Danse may have a power armour fetish people tend to forget X6-88 also does....
That it was sole who introduced Mac to the mutfruit thing and not the other way around....
That Nick an Irma from the memory den definitely fucked at some point
that magnolia from goodneighbor and Sturges are both synths
That after defeating the institute Deacon quotes Plato and is highly educated on philosophy and literature in general
That Nick just had another detective coat lying around presumably waiting for a partner

Presty Garvy , Hancock and Curie ( I ship these lasts two .I wanted to confess )
you got it! and huh, i never even considered that ship before (the dynamic sounds interesting though)!
preston garvey
first impression: like kellogg, i didn’t have much of a first impression. i showed up to the museum of freedom and just did my thing. unlike many other people, however, i never found preston annoying or anything. just a guy doing his job.
impression now: bruh… i love this man. his positivity is such a breath of fresh air in comparison to some of the other companions, let me tell you. amazing morals. preston’s a good man, but is sensible and won’t take shit from anyone. i wish bethesda didn’t tie him down with a bunch of radiant quests, though :(
favorite moment: i love his reaction to the treasures of jamaica plain. dude just starts cracking up. i love his sense of humor.
idea for a story: i’m planning on writing little drabbles of him, the minutemen, and my sole survivor just going about business, actually.
unpopular opinion: he isn’t boring! his first two affinity conversations are a bit rigid, yes, but i’d say that’s just him taking time to open up.
favorite relationship: okay, hear me out. i feel like him and post blind betrayal danse would be bros. i may or may not write up a thing on this in the future.
favorite headcanon: he’s a major dog person and loves playing with dogmeat!
john hancock
first impression: “this dude in goodneighbor’s a major asshole. i’m so close to shooting him – oh.. oh shit, NICE! thank you random… ghoul… cosplayer man…”
impression now: he’s a great character. he really is. love how chill he is with everyone. he reminds me of that popular guy in high school who looked intimidating, but was actually a really nice person. we all knew someone like that, i think.
favorite moment: hancock during the silver shroud quest is great. my favorite line: “Guess what someone tells me? Some costumed freak is operating in Goodneighbor. And the kicker is it ain’t me. How should I feel about this?”
idea for a story: hancock getting closure after his brother’s death? yes please!
unpopular opinion: i’m not a huge fan of how hancock is normally portrayed in the fandom. so, fanon hancock, if you will. he’s charismatic and wild, yes, but he isnt a dumbass by any means. he’s smart, friendly, and has a quick wit. it’s so annoying seeing him portrayed as some… clown? i guess?
favorite relationship: him and fahrenheit! i wish we knew more about them.
favorite headcanon: i like the idea of him and the sole survivor working out a deal, of sorts, to have goodneighbor allied with the minutemen. could be neat!
curie
first impression: confession time. i never raised her affinity in my first save! so she just kinda floated around sanctuary in her nanny bot body, and that was that.
impression now: i love her so much, and i am literally starved for more curie content on this website. i admire her dedication to science, and how genuinely optimistic she is. her adjustment to being a synth was super interesting to me too, actually.
favorite moment: i love it when she talks about her mole rats in vault 81: “Clyde got out of his cage. He was smarter than the others, my sweet Clyde.”
idea for a story: maybe a simple one shot of her dealing with her newly found emotions for the first time? could be neat, you know.
unpopular opinion: while i like her romance, i find part of it a little off putting, considering how naive she can be. might be… because i always see all of these creepy guys thirsting after her on reddit, but hey, what can you do.
favorite relationship: i like her and codsworth’s interactions!
favorite headcanon: personally a fan of curie assisting minutemen efforts, and maybe doing some freelance research for them?

How would the companions react if sole was like dr locklear and would kidnap raiders and other evil people and harvest there organs to make live-saving surgery's
Another old rq; sorry it took me over a year to get to this! I’m not familiar with dr locklear, but the idea of Sole harvesting organs from raiders to save other people is pretty gnarly. Hope ya like it! :)
FO4 Companions React: Sole Harvesting Raiders’ Organs to Save Others
Nick: I can’t tell if this is admirable or deplorable. Damn moral gray areas.
Preston: [closing eyes] I know it’s for a good cause but dammit, General, that’s nasty [gagging, turning away] Urp. I can’t look.
Cait: Ah, c’mon! Just sell the damn organs. We could make a lotta money off them!
Codsworth: Is there not a more…sanitary… way for you to preform this procedure? At least wash your hands first! Or wear gloves!
MacCready: [carefully removing Raider’s lung] Hold up! [abruptly stopping, dropping knife] We’re getting paid for this, right?
Curie: Ah, yes! I can help you effectively exact and preserve zees organs until we find a recipient!
Danse: Using the perfectly functional organs of ruthless savages to save the lives of innocent civilians? It’s both brilliant and commendable.
Deacon: Organ donors never laugh at my jokes. How could they be so heartless?
X6-88: The killing part I understand. The harvesting organs to save others part, that’s what I am failing to comprehend.
Gage: Why’d ya have to kill our guys to save some stupid settlers!? At least sell their organs and pocket the cash!
Hancock: This is twisted, but if it’ll help a fella out, then I’m all for it.
Piper: Huh. You’re like Robin Hood, but killing the bad instead of stealing from the rich, and giving out organs to the dying instead of caps to the poor. I like it.
Strong: WHY HUMAN NO EAT ORGANS!? LIVER IS BEST PART.
Longfellow: I’ll just be over there. Drinkin my liquor. Have fun with that, cap’n.
Ada: [handing Sole a dishrag] You have got some blood on your…everything, [sir/ma’am].
