i was really holding on to hope that gojo could be redeemable, but after reading her interactions with toji, a decent human being, FUCK satoru. i hate gojo and sera for victimizing themselves like he didn’t agree to this marriage. me being a toji fucker aside, i want him to take y/n from gojo. i want them to start working as business partners for her designs and gojo getting pissed off bc his wife is finally doing something she enjoys with another man. none of your characters have pissed me off more than hoejo and i just want him to suffer. he doesn’t deserve y/n AT ALL, and she doesn’t deserve the pain that he puts her through. i want her to ruin his plans of becoming the heir of the company and get a divorce. i hope she can learn to put herself and her feelings before gojo’s, bc he doesn’t deserve her love.
also, i love you!!! i hope you’re doing well and taking care of yourself 💕 thank you for writing this incredible story! you’re the best!

omg hi!!! I just wanted to say that the latest chapter especially the ending had me raging 😤. The fact that gojo was literally the one who initiated seggs and has the AUDACITY to get mad at mc is so infuriating kandisnsjjdisjs. Nonetheless, IT’S SUCH A GOOD CHAPTER! Can we just run away with Toji 😔.
Ohhh nd btw your series really changed how I look at Gojo that I literally rewatched jjk and watch clips of him on yt to remind me he isn’t actually like that 😩 but pls don’t take this negatively! It’s really good how you wrote Gojo in this and manage to change our perspective on him HAHHAHAHA I can just slander him more 👉🏻👈🏻

I just re-read chapter 5 and I’m absolutely disgusted by Gojo. I wanna rip his head off. What the hell?! Its not like the mc forced him to have sex with him and ditch sera for it. and Sera? When she called mc a liar i almost threw my phone all the way to north korea. If someone deserves to be accused for being a liar it’s gojo and no one else. Both sera and gojo are disgusting individuals and I hope they rot in hell for putting the mc in such situations because she doesn’t deserve it she deserves the whole world and more. I’m so glad that Toji appeared because he is such a gentleman and a nice person I’m happy that at least he understood her pain and was able to listen to her and when he mentioned his wife? I almost teared up. I absolutely love your writing and I hope that you’ll be able to bless us with it for a long long time ❤️
P.S i hope you are doing well. Sending many kithes😘

Okay I think I get what heavy angst anon to an extent. I'm good with heavy angst (I thrive on it actually uwu) but in this particular case all the stuff that makes it heavy angst also makes it really hard to root for the main pairing bc at this point I (personally) think Gojo is like, irredeemable.
On the other hand tho I also thought that about Suna in wasteland and ended up getting hit in the feels bc of the ending so who knows. u have a weird talent for making me feel bad for assholes lmao

SATORU WHAT THE FUCK?! she's clearly is in pain and all you could think of was that she's faking it????? *googling how to enter fanfiction so i could smack tf outta him*
No hate on canon gojou tho i love that man he's powerful but SN gojou is very...... emotionally weak 😭 idc if ppl tryna defend him abt his wrecked family but he really didn't think about his children's future. Man be like: I wanna have an heir and raised them the way my dad raised me lol, have a mistress and hates on my father's mistress. Ironic, satoru. Very ironic.
And Sera... *sigh* no words on that girl. Acting like a victim as if she's not a homewrecker.
Thank you for the update 😭😭❤ can't wait for the next crying session but pls take your time 🙏

I’m one of these people that know they shouldn’t have started reading sn cause they are too sensitive (and kin Gojo) but I just couldn’t help myself and now I’m hooked 😣 I haven’t lost all hope for a happy ending yet but if it’s gonna end in a sad way it’s also ok, I’ll be here till the end anyway. Your writing is so good, please keep going 🙏🏼
Tumblr media
omg aaaa i’m sorry i cannot respond to each of u individually but i have enjoyed reading all of these!! to those who are saying that gojo is irredeemable, i get why you would think so!! i personally think he isn’t redeemable too so i’ll just do a break down of his character’s psychology
psychoanalyzing gojo 101: underneath gojo’s superiority complex is a highly insecure man with abandonment issues, an abusive father, and a lover that he couldn’t freely show to the world. this makes him think that it’s “acceptable” to put y/n through pain bc she is always granted of everything she wanted and has a loving dad and sister, while he has to constantly prove himself to get what he wants and is disconnected with his own family. they have the same status but they didn’t live the same life. he both hates and loves that he feels powerful next to y/n and is insecure without her, thinking that his worth would not be twice as important if he didn’t marry an heiress that would make him successful. he is trying to utilize y/n the same way his dad uses him as a pawn which is why he frequently shows signs of manipulation to get what he wants. but as one anon pointed out, he only wants sera but he needs y/n. sera is a luxury, y/n is a necessity. he does not understand the true meaning of love beyond pleasures and fantasies. he rejects the idea of caring for someone who is willing to understand his darkest days. gojo, as simply put, is a selfish, stubborn, and complex individual who looks powerful and independent on the outside when in truth, he is dependent on the people he loves and is vulnerable on the inside — his dad sees through him that’s why he’s able to mess with his son’s mind.

Over a month ago, I was talking about Onyx Path‘s sales venues and things like that. Just kind of getting folks caught up on where they could find our stuff and which projects you could find there.
A different, but similar, thing that I wanted to touch on today is some of the other sorts of projects we have to offer beyond book-shaped things. Specifically, because Mighty Matt McElroy sent me some pics of the proofs for a couple of card projects, I’m going to touch on those today.
(Never mind that I haven’t received my card proof samples yet…sob.)
The Realm illustration by Yiyhoung Li
There are two types of card-based projects that we have been creating. The first, are card games. We don’t do a lot of them, as we need to see a clear connection to whatever TTRPG they are derived from or it’s tough to put effort towards them when there are books to be created.
Right now, we have Justin Achilli’s Prince’s Gambit for Vampire: The Masquerade, which we saw as a fun political machinations game that is waaay shorter than a VTES match. Something to play while waiting for your RPG or LARP session to start up.
And Fetch Quest for Realms of Pugmire, which has shipped to Kickstarter backers, should be available to order and in stores in May, and which we are waiting for the PoD proofs for. This is a cooperative card game set in the wilds around Pugmire that complements the TTRPG.
In fact, we’re looking to have the option for folks to make their own cards via DriveThruCards, so folks can play their TTRPG characters.
You might have noticed that the part of DriveThru that deals with these sorts of things is DriveThru Cards, which is a different Print on Demand company than the one who does our books. Everything still all goes through DTRPG, or OBS as it’s corporately known, but the card guys have their own little differences in how they proof, etc.
We’ve been really happy with the quality of their cards, and that’s one of the reasons we have made both the games, and the second type of card projects we put together: roleplaying aids. These can be the extensive selection of Charm Cards for Exalted 3rd, or Condition Cards for our CofD games, or Trick Cards for Pugmire, and more.
Pugmire also has Spell Cards, and right now we are proofing Spell Cards for the Scarred Lands that can be used for a SL campaign, or worked into any 5e fantasy roleplaying session.
If you’re saying, “Hey, what is this here Scarred Lands you keep going on about, Mr. Rich?“, then you should give a listen to last Friday’s Onyx Pathcast where our terrific trio take a Deep Dive into the Scarred Lands setting, and highlight the things that they think really work. Link below in the Blurbs!.
They do a fantastic job of conveying what they love and are intrigued by in Scarred Lands, which is actually really interesting to me, as a guy who helped create it way back in the crazy d20 Rush days. None of our Trio were around then, so to hear them go over the parts that compel them about our new edition and the first one, is kind of like hearing a whole new generation finding it.
Makes me feel both old and proud, by crackee!

Finally, to wrap up the Scion Errata situation I touched on the last couple of weeks, Neall, in his non-real-world-job time, was able to assemble and create a list of the corrections that he had made but which hadn’t stuck. We turned that into a downloadable PDF (in both full-color and easy to print versions) for any and all to get ahold of, and input the corrections and the backer credits into the PDF and the upcoming PoD files.
When all was said and done, there is a page of Scion: Origin errata, a page of Scion: Hero errata, a page for a FAQ Neall put together, and ten updated pre-generated character sheets. For perspective, Neall’s original list derived from backer input from all over the internet was well over 300 entries (many of them duplicates) across the two books so the vast majority of the fixes worked – except for a page per book’s worth.
While we wanted all of the errata we painstakingly gathered and collated to have stuck as we intended, and we’ve changed a couple of processes to try and make sure that when a change is made it by-gum sticks, we’re just glad that none of them were so bad that they wrecked the books and made them impossible to read and play.
As Neall noted in a message to the backers, we’re disappointed that the projects aren’t as polished as we intended, and we apologize to all involved for disappointing you too.
We will do better, as we continue to create:

Onyx Dice!  We’ve recently released the Changeling: The Lost, Trinity Continuum: Aeon dice, and now the Geist dice.  Next up on our radar is: Demon: The Fallen,  Mummy: The Resurrection,  Kindred of the East, Vampire Dark Ages, and Mummy: The Curse.
We have a serious issue on the Pixel and Motorola phones that prevent the user from using the app correctly.  A fix is coming shortly.  A temporary workaround is to minimize the app without shutting it down, and then restore it.

Done a lot of thinking today
2016-2017 was an interesting couple years for me as an artist and author and just general human being. I graduated from college in late 2016 and, to put it simply, attending that college was a mistake. It’s a long story but essentially I was lied to and manipulated by a college that was at the beginning stages of dying when I got accepted, but they’d done such a good job of hiding it that I didn’t know until it was to late.
Coming to terms with that was a huge struggle, especially because of how in debt it put me. It is something I am currently pursing legal action for, but that’s not really the point of this post. The point is that that experience, coupled with my depression (and, let’s be honest, it certainly didn’t help with the depression) really set me back in a lot of ways. I didn’t connect with people, I didn’t network with people, I didn’t develop healthy working habits.
But, most of all, I created my work in a bubble. I didn’t share it with anyone, I didn’t get critique, I didn’t get help. I didn’t want it. In college I was told off for giving in depth critiques, and many students gave subpar critiques that weren’t helpful in any way and that was treated as the right way to do it. These experiences created this sense that critique wasn’t worth bothering with. If no one was going to give me actual advice on my work and how to make it better, then there was no point in asking in the first place.
Obviously, this is a very harmful mentality to have. Art can’t be created in a bubble. It needs other people to help it grow and thrive to be the best it can possibly be. 2017 was my year of discovering that, as well as building the healthy work habits I should have developed in college.
In 2017 I tried a lot of different styles of working. Everything from using timers for everything I did to track what I was doing, to scheduling myself out weeks in advance, to not scheduling at all but taking notes on what I did as I did it. There was also a lot of exploration of how I work best when it comes to planning projects; the level of planning I need to do, what kinds of planning, etc. By late 2017 I finally found the methods that really clicked for me, after a lot of trial and error, and it resulted in an explosion of wonderful productivity and projects I was proud of and stayed proud of. I no longer felt like I was beating my head against a wall to get things done, and then hating them after a few days.
A big part of this was also finally starting to network with people, and starting to find people who could give me the critiques I wanted and needed to improve my work. I found an amazing writing critique group that is full of wonderful people who don’t give me any slack when they’re talking about my work. I reconnected with other disenchanted people from my college, and together we are working on building a network to help everyone else who was left in the dust by a college that was supposed to support us but never has.
These two groups, plus finally having an effective method of working, all really came together towards the end of 2017. That meant I came into 2018 with an entirely different outlook on my work and what I want to do as an artist and author. I’m crazy excited for what I’m going to be able to do now, but I’m also looking back on projects I did during the last few years and wishing they had been able to benefit from the personal advancements I made in 2017.
The biggest of these projects is the Kith and Kin saga. These books are my babies. I’ve already released the first one. People have bought it. I’ve shared it and sold it and done press about it. I’ve written the second book, and I’m currently in the process of editing it.
But I wrote the first book when I was in a bad place in my life. I wrote it when I was still struggling and still didn’t understand my brain well enough to work as effectively as I can now. I wrote it when I didn’t have anyone to help me, to critique me. The same is true, though to a lesser extent, for the second book.
It has been while working on editing the second book that I came to a lot of the realizations I’m sharing in this post. I worked on this book the most while I was going through that self-discovery period last year. Right now I’m still working on that project, but I’ve come out the other side of that period and it is making me view the project very differently.
Working on editing the second book feels like banging my head against a wall. There’s things I can’t change because it is a second book, and I’d have to change the first book to make it work. There’s things I can change but they’re so deeply entrenched in the story that it would involve a full re-write of the book. There’s things about my process that have completely shifted, so going back to a book that was created under my old processes feels like back sliding. I’m not the same artist, nor the same person, as when I wrote the second book and even more so I am not the same artist nor person as I was when I wrote the first book.
Obviously, I will always be changing and growing as an artist, but this feels like a bigger change. This isn’t just general learning, this was a serious, self-initiated, forced change. I made myself into the artist I want to be, the kind of artist that can undergo regular change and growth, because I wasn’t that artist before.  It was hard and parts of it sucked, but it was worth it.
With all of that said, I refuse to abandon the Kith and Kin saga. I love it. It is still my baby. I still adore the characters and the world and I know I can do amazing things with it. But I realize now that I need to start over, as hard as that decision is. I’m lucky enough that this project is still 100% mine; I self-published it and I’ve done all the art and marketing and everything myself. Admittedly, this was because I refused to ask for help which was the problem, but in this instance it is an advantage because it means there is nothing standing in the way of me wiping the slate clean and starting from scratch.
This was still a hard decision to make, but I know it is the right decision. I am going to leave the first book, Bound by Kin, as it is. It now gets to be a stand alone novel. But it is also going to serve as an outline for the redo, so there will be a lot of similarities, but there will also be changes. I will also be outlining and getting at least a first draft of all three books in the series done before I release any of them. These books, while there are three of them, are one thing. I need to finish the whole thing before I give it to the world.
That’s not to say I won’t be talking about it while I work, though. I’ll still be talking about it a ton! I’m going to share as much of my processes as possible as I undertake redoing this project, because I love sharing my work. But a finished Book 1 of the redo is probably at least a couple years off.
So, yes. Lots of thinking has happened, and now you all know what’s going on with my work! I’m really excited by this new turn, even if it was a hard decision to make, and I hope you all will enjoy being on this journey with me.

BTS Love Yourself “起”  V Taehyung
(writer’s note: sorry I started with V instead of Jin because I feel like he’s has the most direct story/theory to write and most cute interaction with the girl and yet violently lol and don't die from cringing. if its bad , tell me. if its good, also tell me T.T)
(writer’s ending note 2: asdfghjkl is this shitty? IT DIDNT END UP POETIC OR SHORT AT ALL. I literally wanna cry at what I wrote.
btw this is just part 1 aka 起. And remember to check the masterlist on desktop or website! If I receive decent comments or no comments by then, part 2 “承” for V Taehyung will be released on Tuesday 1am KST, yes it is written already)
18th June  (POV of the girl)
It was 10am in the morning. The skies were blue , the sun was glaring. Everyone was off to work and school. What a timing.
You made your way to the nearest convenience store in your casual outfit but along with a dark cap that overshadowed your face and your black bag that sunk lazily on your shoulder.
Upon entering the shop , you looked around. As expected , the only staff in the shop wasn't keeping his eyes on cameras as always. You smiled in smug , ‘Hah , its my day.’
Walking nonchalantly to the second aisle at the back, hidden from keen eyes of passerby , you started slowly grabbing items off the shelves while keeping an close eye on any incoming danger. Looking left and right , keeping hands busy.
As you were about to grab another item , a tight grip from an unknown hand held your wrist back. How did you not notice someone approaching you? You were taken aback by the force , though you clearly knew what would be the consequences for your actions.
In a split second , what happened next was not what you have prepared for, your bag of stolen goods was whisk away off your heavy shoulders by this boy who was a head taller than you , dressed in black as well. He didn't look much older than you.
He threw your bag to the cashier and smiled to the staff , reaching out for his wallet for payment.
Livid at your foiled plan by this random guy, you stormed out of the shop. You stood outside the shop with mixed emotions under the piercing sun.
‘Who is this guy?’ , ‘Why is he doing this?’ , ‘What is his purpose?’
When the stranger finally came out of the store which felt like eternal to you , him appearing in front of you did not appease you at all. In fact , your anger was fuelled. You snatched your bag off his hand. With no words of gratitude or explanation to him, you stomped off with your bag filled towards the empty streets.
But this did not calmed your mind one bit. ‘Who was he? He was no kin nor kith to you. Why didn't he foiled your plans? Even if you got caught , it was none of his business.’
You laid on your bed upon reaching home as your mind pondered over this over and over again. You glanced over at your bag again. Curiosity was killing you. Who was he. You could not comprehend his actions. But you started to feel indebted to his kind actions the more you wondered.
You mumbled to yourself: ‘hmm.. I wish we could meet again.. I can ask him my questions... and maybe finally know his name...’ , before dozing off by the overwhelm thoughts running through your mind.

Radha Gomaty in NYC Day 5
Back Home there is this  phrase for utter an act of total destruction .Actually it is a description of the extreme intensity of the intention with which decimation of the enemy is carried  out -“kuzhichu(dig) kulam (lake/Pond)thoanduka(to excavate)”.
I was obtuse enough ,when i first heard this phrase to wonder why is it such a bad thing now to dig a lake in what is enemy territory?
i mean ,is it so bad to actually dig a lake given the  ecological crises we are going through ? Perhaps the context of the phrase has changed over time and it has to be looked at differently now , in a more positive light ?
However my rose tinted revisionism ,fueled largely by pure ignorance of context, was swiftly made short shrift of when someone told me what is implied is the intensity of  rage - A rage that does not rest not only till the last  member of the enemy’s kith & kin are wiped out ,but also that even their ancestral homestead /dwelling / stronghold is so completely and systematically destroyed  that even the very foundation is excavated so deeply that not a stone remains even of its memory .
The natural destiny of such a gaping hole in the ground in a monsoon struck tropical land like mine is that it fills with water and turns into a lake .
That is the phrase that floated into my mind as i went down this morning as per my schedule sheet to see the 9/11 memorial with its manicured settings , a new gigantic shimmery tower in the background and a huge lake where once the buildings stood  with a gaping hole so deep in the centre that  we ,who are positioned at the periphery along the walls inscribed with the names of the dead ,can barely see where it goes…
I go up to a sort of garden-like mezzanine opposite that sports even a couple of smaller variety of trees .Suddenly I catch sight of a young tree that says Anne Frank’s Tree.It is a sapling from the original  Horse Chestnut Tree in the garden behind the Secret Annex upon which Anne Frank had supposedly gazed at  from her hiding place as a symbol of Freedom & Nature.
Before the original  tree died it seems a foundation called  Anne Frank Centre for Mutual Respect  created eleven such saplings  from it which the website says is distributed around the world .Actually according to their own listing they are all planted in various parts of the U.S including the one that has that has nonplussed me with its presence  right here at the 9/11site.
i have always loved Anne Frank ever since i picked up her little book from the shelves of a local library down the street adjacent to where I lived in the old colonial enclave of Fort Cochin, I was about 12 or 13 years old and i had never ever heard of her before till i saw her name on the book .It was the cadence of her name and the quality of her smile that drew me to it .
And yes. For the intense young adolescent in need of expression that i was it was reassuring that she did  actually write a journal  without feeling silly about it or the grownups ferreting it out .
But incorporating her name at the 9/11 site  makes me  feel uncomfortable somehow.
A Memory ,even at the Being level of our own personal experience, is  actually just a construct we create for ourselves through conscious &unconscious processes of selection of  what to keep , what to accentuate , what to downplay  /drop.With what narrative to thread disparate moments  together into a shape that is more often than not informed with some sort of interest ,
It becomes a kind of compositional design that keeps shifting shape  .
Forgive me for saying this ,but  Memory is a gear and it has been used here too as always , in a collective social setting to  manipulate and tweak emotion , sentiment ,value , feeling with wonderfully well calculated precision.
When it is crystallized into a spatial design of such a capital intensive monument building project serving to create a memory with its play of reinforcement  of some factors , downplaying some of the others etc with real events in it it is a very interesting political exercise indeed, even if it chills your spine just that wee bit.
I only had to recollect the the powerful docu on Winnie Mandela I had been invited to witness at the IMAGE NATION’S Raw Space Art Gallery in Harlem in which  the apartheid  council’s advisor Mc.Pherson talks with such chilling precise candidness as to how every single aspect of collective life depends on the images doctored and doled out by the controlled media where so called reality is nothing but a function,an outcome  ultimately,of  branding -How Winnie’s fall into ignominy was a carefully orchestrated  branding exercise that finally worked after years of continuous exertion and  never-say-die industry that one may even find admirable if separated from the destructive ugly purpose it served.
Two small iridescent birds of a variety I’ve never seen before descend briefly upon the mezzanine garden near where i stand back turned to that cold cataclysmic lake ,still in a pool of Sun   .
I felt that i had to make them an offering .
So gingerly, making as little noise as possible I open my little stainless steel tiffin box containing a bit of hard bread spread over with hummus ,bite out a bit and then break it to smaller crumbs.
Though they had hopped away somewhere I was sure they would come back and accept my offering .
The memorial with its cascading water lake was definitely a nice photo op judging by the number of clicks going on around.
Standing at the mezzanine I scan for gaps between the surrounding  buildings. From where could the  two offensive in planes in the tale fly in to actually impact two building so tall , so strong that they collapsed into themselves?
Wow !
Honestly .I never could ever buy the story that all those innocent human lives of those in that building on that busy workday morning could have been killed by just two small planes that brought two huge buildings down like a stack of pancakes as we all watched incredulously on our TV sets from various parts pf the world standing in different time zones.
Slowly the other versions of what might have happened crept in undermining the dominant narrative that had already been effectively shaped by then .And they never came  through the main news portals making serials like Homeland exposing the underbelly of the intrigues of Power & control seem like only a shadow.
No .
i am not going to attempt talking  about it here .Dig around yourselves as I’m sure plenty of us have already .
Nothing ever is what it seems to be.
And I also  realize it can actually really make me sick if I let it.
But i won’t.
We create our worlds all the time by doing just only that we have the freedom to do .Which is gaining mastery enough over ourselves to be able to control the way we respond to the world through an exercise of self reflexive awareness .
Its the only tool we have  .
Are we  generating what we see together like so many split projectors unifying on a surround screen upon and in which we live , as  projector ,projection and the image projected all at once?
If that is the case and I have an option ,I  would rather be the screen that is just surface.
Helping make visible remaining unremarkable .
Just letting  show .
No pursuit of purpose.

Thanks everyone who commented on our blog posts last week. Hearing from you was both informative and very helpful. As you might imagine, we spent a fair amount of time during this week’s Monday Meeting discussing the reactions we’ve encountered.
End of the day, we’ve tried from the beginning of Onyx Path‘s existence to bring in new and diverse creators onto our projects, and now that we’re starting to make that work, we’re not going to let them feel threatened here.
Dystopia Rising: Evolution art by Sam Denmark
While it might seem like a tonal shift to now start talking about the Lunars Kickstarter; all of last week and into the meeting today we looked to this KS as an awesome positive example of what we do in the midst of a lot of negativity.
Gotta have light shining in the dark, gotta have the good with the bad.
Part of why we’re grooving on the Kickstarter and all the great comments and posts about Lunars as we “leak” out parts of the manuscript, is that we’re hearing so many folks enjoying what they are reading. That’s great, and it is what we hoped for, as there’s always been a feeling on the creative level that the last two editions just didn’t do full justice to the Lunars.
As per the blog title: 3rd time’s the charm. (All the puns and allusions intended).
Here’s hoping everyone’s enthusiasm stays stoked once all the text is revealed by the end of the Kickstarter – we certainly think it’s all great!
Trinity Continuum: Aeon art by Gunship Revolution
Something else that I’m personally thrilled by is the Scarred Lands game being played by Devil’s Luck Gaming on their Twitch channel here:https://twitch.tv/videos/385880467
For me, I was very impressed by the costuming and design of the promo I saw, but started chortling when I saw the Slitherin ratman all made up and squeaking! See, I was the one who originally wrote their first descriptions in the first Creature Collection.
And no, I did not name them after the House. I had not even read those books when I gave them that name, but boy did I realize how it sounded after I did! I was going more for the feel of them slithering up out of the ground and from sewers, with dirty jagged daggers in hand.
So it’s an absolute thrill to see one of them being played, and played so well. Check it out if you can.
Dystopia Rising: Evolution art by Marco Gonzales
Finally, we talked about the Onyx Pathcast interview with Eric Zawadzki about his work on Deviant, and how he has stepped into Dave Brookshaw’s shoes as developer of the book.
You can hear Eric’s enthusiasm for Deviant, and how infectious that is during the interview, and we’re all extremely excited to be getting closer to presenting this new kind of supernatural for Chronicles of Darkness.
Eddy notes several times how the themes of Deviant are very basic, very grounded, and very evocative for our current time. Deviants are very accessible as characters, and very flexible in what could inspire them. There are just so many pop culture references that could be drawn from, as well as classical stories of quests for revenge and payback.
Take a listen, if you have the time, and I think you’ll agree just from listening to Eric, Dixie, and Eddie talk about the game. Link down below in the BLURBS! section.
Until next week, remember:

TODAY’S REASON TO CELEBRATE:
Today in 1971, Sean Astin was born and then was raised by Gomez Addams. Later, he searched for pirate treasure with his goony friends, played football, and became a gardener for the Baggins family. After a long journey to return a particularly memorable piece of jewelry to the manufacturer’s facilities for a refund, he was elected Mayor of his town of residence. Let’s hear it for “our Sam”!

Lost in a Hedge!
We’re almost done the first week of our Changeling: The Lost 2nd Edition Kickstarter, and it’s going great! Not only are we racing past Stretch Goals like we’re being chased by a Huntsman, but the community response has been terrific. Jumpin’ James and I are going to sit down this week and talk about a bunch of things you’ve been asking about, but I do want to touch on a few points right away.
First, we had some concern when we went live with the KS, because for this KS we are releasing a few chapters of the completed text each week via Backer Only Updates. Our plan is that all of the text will be released by the start of the last week of the Kickstarter, and that you can then decide if the writing is what you are looking for.
Seriously, our intention is that you will be able to decide and keep, update, or drop your pledge as you see fit and however you decide, that’s totally cool.
So because you can cancel your pledge at any time until the KS funds, there’s really no “paywall” at all.
As for why we chose to set it up this way, well, first of all, we wanted folks to be able to read the complete text. But we have noticed that when we do a “here’s a link to the complete text right here in the KS page, tell us what you think”, that the conversation gets pretty noisy. But only for the front end of the campaign.
We’d like to have an ongoing conversation about the text, and for all of you to have something new and interesting to talk about, each week.
Besides that, we really do hold to something I’ve said so many times that it seems like our mantra for Kickstarter: Every Kickstarter Is Different. So we are very interested in continuing to fine-tune how we do our KSs. For efficiency and effectiveness, yes, that’s better for our business and for backers. And also for our sense of being creative, of treating our projects as individual things that can be made more fun to be involved with and evoke more of the feel of the setting and gameplay (even our Kickstarters).

And now with Jumpin’ James starting to apply some ideas he’s been thinking about to them, we’re really lucky to get a fresh brain on our KSs. For example, our “classic PDF” bundle that is often really popular as a pledge or an Add-on has been something that I and Mighty Matt McElroy have created for most of our KSs as a static, “here you go!” sort of offering. But James has changed that with this KS, and now we have Stretch Goals that add additional PDFs to the bundle so that our backers get more value as the KS continues to grow.
Finally, to clarify one of our Stretch Goal rewards, the additional Kiths that can be unlocked are going to be added to the previously announced Kith and Kin supplement. We were and are unclear in the way that was described, even allowing the Book of Kiths shorthand we were using to show through publicly. That caused confusion, and was our bad. (And now we’re kind of stuck with that title as part of what we’re doing, because a bunch of backers are used to it.)
While all that was happening with the Changeling: The Lost 2e KS, we had a crew at PAX Unplugged in my hometown of Philadelphia, PA, that included myself and Mega Meghan Fitzgerald, one of the CtL2 devs. (Why is she Mega? Because she runs amazing demo games at cons one after the other and people were so excited and loving the adventure so much that they were pledging to the Kickstarter on their phones at the table!) So, some of the people who could clarify things with the KS were not readily available.
Neall Raemonn Price and our new friend Nick from The Wrecking Crew were also running exciting games of Exalted, Scion, Pugmire, etc. for folks pretty much from 10am til midnight. The three of them were made of win.
The PAX Unplugged con itself was really good, I think, for Onyx Path, if for no other reason than allowing all of us to talk with gamers who did not know us or what we do.
Heck, for the first time in four years I found myself explaining what a tabletop RPG was and how you play them.
So, for everybody who talks about how unnecessary those “What is Roleplaying” intro sections are in RPG books: nope.
This exposure to a wider audience was one of the objectives we had in mind for attending this particular convention, so that is a win. We also talked to so many attendees who did know us, or who backed one of our KSs, or who had amazing stories about how old WW and now Onyx Path had influenced their lives. I have heard a fair number of those stories about the WW games over the years, and it’s gratifying that Onyx has been around long enough now to have also made a difference for some folks.
We saw lots of old friends in the business, because just about every tabletop RPG publishers was attending in some capacity or another. White Wolf was right next to us (a coincidence, I swear) and so we had some great synergy with them. Plus anytime I can start the day with Jason Carl, Karim Muammar, and Shane von Shane in their black-clad undead beauty next to us, it just makes things a little bit better.
They were demoing parts of Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition both there at the booth and in their demo area, and the very excited players seemed to be almost in a frenzy of antici…
  …pation!
While all these great conversations were going on, and boy did I just talk non-stop, we were also selling Changeling 20th PoDs, Chronicles of Darkness core books, Scarred Lands books, a smattering of our extra Deluxe W20s, W20 Changing Breeds, Exalted 3rds, and one Mage 20.
And Pugmire.
Always the Pugmire. It has proven to be the best game book to set up near the aisle so everybody can see the cover and all the dogs fighting the giant ants, and it just brings folks over. (We also sold out of the Monarchies of Mau Early Access PoDs we brought with us, so never fear, cat-lovers!) For a convention where we wanted to talk with new folks, it really did the trick.
Pugmire Audio Drama “Thank You, Darcy Cat”
It didn’t hurt that our dynamic duo of retail sales Dixie Cochran and Lisa Thomas were phenomenally good at engaging the people that came over to ask what Pugmire is all about and stayed to check out all our other offerings and pick up a brochure at least!
One thing though, if you weren’t there, or missed us, and the talk of these Deluxe books and Pugmire being available sounds like you missed out – not so! You can check out the links in The Blurbs! below for Indy Press Revolution and Studio2, who are selling Pugmire and our excess Deluxes.
I don’t know if they have a deadline for ordering books as holiday gifts, either you directly or through a Friendly Local Game Store, but any of these would be great gifts. The Deluxes for that true fan in your life, or Pugmire for pet-lovers, kids, or folks who want something a little different to try.
There is a deadline for ordering Print on Demand books from DriveThru if you want them by Christmas, and that is tomorrow, so short but fair warning!

One thing we certainly demonstrated at the convention, with our booth background image, our brochures, and just the range of books displayed in the booth, we have:

You may think that with a multitude of people coming, going, dying and running away, we’d be tired, done, or ready to give up. Instead, I find myself restless, looking for the next thing.  There’s always a next thing, and I for one am not yet ready to die.
– Elder Kincaid, Daeva Crone
This book includes:
• Detailed instructions on creating elder vampires, including how to base chronicles around them
• A look into the lives of elders, how they spend their nights, who they work with, and why including their roles in both their clans and covenants
• New Devotions, Merits, and Rituals for elder vampires
• The kinds of creatures that pose a threat to elder vampires, including Inamorata, Lamia, Sons of Phobos, a new elder conspiracy, and more!
Is a life of running and hiding a life worth living? We say yes. There’s always something between the running and the hiding, and those moments of grace make it all worthwhile.
The Huntsmen Chronicle Anthology is a perfect companion piece to Changeling: The Lost, 2nd Edition. These stories spin tales of the Lost, of those abducted and enslaved by fairies. Those who escaped, but whose captors will stop at nothing to find them. These fairies summon forth the Huntsmen, primordial hunters who understand nothing but pursuit and capture. The Huntsmen are unstoppable monsters, and the Lost can only look to each other for respite, rare comfort, and rarer trust.
The Hedge has parted and you can get the Advance PDF of The Huntsmen Chronicle Fiction Anthology for Changeling: The Lost 2nd Edition at DTRPG.com! http://ift.tt/2z4uZnU
For over 20 years, the artists of Mage: The Ascension have conjured spirits and constructed hypertech that can transform reality on a whim.
Within this retrospective, those artists and images depict the ever-changing face of magick. From the debut edition to the twenty-first century, this book explores the people behind the pictures, the process of putting such books together, the story behind Mage’s Tarot iconography, and more.
Featuring the artwork of Echo Chernik, Joshua Gabriel Timbrook, Michael Gaydos, Mark Jackson, Leif Jones, Michael Kaluta, Steve Prescott, Alex Sheikman, Christopher Shy…and many, many more.

      A Land Where Legends Walk
Drawing enthusiastically on Greek mythology, the revised and re-imagined Scarred Lands nonetheless retains its place as a modern fantasy RPG setting. This is a world shaped by gods and monsters, and only the greatest of heroes can expect to be counted among them. The most populous continent of Scarn, Ghelspad, plays host to vast unexplored regions, hides unsolved riddles from ancient cultures, and taunts adventures with the promise of undiscovered riches hidden among the ruins of older civilizations.
Yet the myths of the Scarred Lands are relatively recent events. The effects of the Titanswar still ripple through the world, and the heroines and villains of many of these stories are part of living memory, if not still living.
The Award-Winning Fantasy Setting Returns
Scarred Lands has been a favorite fantasy setting since the release of the Creature Collection for the d20 System in 2000. In subsequent years, over 40 titles were published for Scarred Lands, making it one of the most fully supported fantasy RPG settings ever and the premiere product line of Sword & Sorcery Studios.
Available in both 5th Edition and Pathfinder compatible versions! PDF and PoD formats available NOW!

Heroes, Villains, and Others in Between!
This tome is a revision of the original book by the same title, originally published for use with 3rd edition rules for the world’s most popular roleplaying game. In this revised edition of The Wise & the Wicked, all the same characters have returned (and we’ve added some new ones, too!), for use with the Scarred Lands Player’s Guide.
Champions of Gods and Titans
The Wise & the Wicked introduces a rogue’s gallery of the Scarred Lands’ movers and shakers, characters who carry out the will of the gods or the fallen titans. These non-player characters can be friends, enemies, or simply convenient resources for the player characters in your game.
Inside, find villains such as King Virduk of Calastia, the Black Dragon, along with his wife, the beautiful (and black-hearted) Queen Geleeda; the Grand Vizier to King Virduk, the wicked warrior-mage Anteas; and the sinister general of Virduk’s northern armies, Archduke Traviak the Steel-Fisted. At the other end of the spectrum, meet the gracious Lady Ariniel, the Swan Knight, champion of Madriel; Kimer the Shatterer, bearer of the Earth Sword of Scarn and tenacious foe of the titanspawn of the north; and King Thain the Just, the Aleking, ruler of Burok Torn. And many others beside!
Here you’ll find a fascinating compendium of characters from the Scarred Lands, but easily transported into campaigns set elsewhere. In addition, find multiple appendices full of new magic items and artifacts, class archetypes and prestige classes, new feats, new creatures and races, and more.
Available in Pathfinder and 5th Edition versions! PDF and PoD formats available NOW!

            CONVENTIONS!
In December, Matthew Dawkins, Dave Brookshaw, and Eddy Webb are going to be at Dragonmeet in London. https://www.dragonmeet.co.uk/ Expect plenty of playful class warfare as these three mix it up, represent Onyx Path, and generally redefine the term “hooligans”.
Planning ahead for 2018, we’re heading back to Midwinter Game Convention in Milwaukee, January 11-14, where we’re going to be bringing a big crew of many of your favorite Onyx Path designers and we’ll be running demos and making some special announcements at the show!  http://midwintergamingconvention.com

TODAY’S REASON TO CELEBRATE: Thanksgiving! After this month’s double cons, and other “cons”, it is a good day to reflect on the good stuff. The stuff that makes life worth living. I am, of course, referring to MST3K Turkey Day streaming in a marathon. While Uncle Joe watches football, it’s Joel, Mike, the Mads, and the Bots for me!
