Thoughts song for 2019 tuggoffelees being exes from Misto’s point of view?

and 2019 exes isn't even because it's one person or another's fault, they both had their issues and that's what led to their breakup, so they both are hurting from it while struggling to acknowledge their faults that led to the breakup, so Misto seeing Tugger pretending like he's okay with Plato, Socrates, Cori, and Tanto, and thinking he's just got everything he wants, meanwhile Tugger is putting on a brave face and wishing he could go back in time and fix things.

also "On My Own" is Tugger's song in this breakup and i will not be taking any criticism

and adding onto the "Mamma Mia" thing, Plato, Socrates, Cori, and Tanto singing "Chiquitita" to Tugger after the breakup they are the family ever <3

Hey, I'll be talking about my own headcanons and theories about the Cats 2019 Movie. Let's talk about Mr. Mistoffelees!

Now, there's something about his character in the movie that I like, but at the same time, I wish there was more development for him besides being Victoria's love interest. To me, their relationship was forced for the movie's script. Laurie Davidson said it at the premiere that him and Victoria will get together as a hint, although most of the time, Victoria was with Munkustrap till after Mistoffelees brought back Old Deuteronomy with his magic.

Depsite that, he's a special character. Nobody knows he had powers until Victoria acknowledged him grabbing a bone out of his hat and tossed it to the dog. Some believed he was the son of Macavity, which is possible. I'm not gonna lie.

Mistoffelees is a Jellicle Cat but different compared to others because of the way he was raised. If he was Macavity's son, I'm sure Macavity saw potential in him. Problem? Macavity saw Mistoffelees social awkwardness as a weakness, so he controlled him as a puppet to do everything he's told.

My opinion on Mistofeelees and Victoria's relationship is 0% romance. I just feel like she understood him on a personal level and he was able to express himself through her. Mistoffelees did show having a crush on her, but that was temporarily. Victoria showed no romantic interest in him at all. She was on a journey to self discovery, wondering who the Jellicles were, and she saw herself as a Jellicle through Munkustrap's love, protection, and guidance.

Honestly, I wish I saw his connection with Gus more and why he has inspired Mistoffelees to be who he truly is. I believe Gus raised Mistoffelees as a Father while he was recovering his traumatic experience from Macavity.

(As you could guess, the situation between those two families (Macavity/Munkustrap, with a son Shyny and Rum Tum Tugger/Mistoffelees, with a son AlmonDisco, when those two kids are in love) is a little... difficult. Tugger still has problems with Munku lying to him about all that being Rumpus Cat and his hidden husband Macavity. Macavity has a problem with Tugger's attitude and uses words to cut deep and hard. Mistoffelees and Munkustrap try to be understanding to each other, but it's not easy for any of them. Shyny feels guilty and AlmonDisco has a time of his life.)

How did Bombalurina and Macavity meet?

My hcs about the Jellicles is that the majority of them live in the Junkyard all year round, and Bombalurina and Macavity are no different.

Macavity is the son of Old Deut and an unknown Queen, while Bombalurina's mother left her in the Junkyard, so she was primarily raised by Griz as a kitten before Grizabella up and left.

The two met then but never really interacted until they were much older (The Junkyard is a big place), and Bombalurina was just instantly infuriated with him. But like I said before, she never knew what his reaction would be when she would put on the charm and flirt up a storm with him.

i’ve only ever really thought of jemima as macavity’s daughter but i think if i let the plato one simmer i could end up enjoying it cause i like the hc of them being half-siblings :3c

i also think it’d be an interesting way to propose ideas on why plato’s never there when macavity attacks lore-wise cause i also would NOT wanna be there when my evil dad is attacking and terrorizing my community and friends

i dunno i tend to have a lotta macavity head-canons cause he’s usually the one with the least info but the thought plato could also be his kid never occurred to me

I've drawn this au a couple of times, SO. Here's the setup

Macavity is Old Deuteronomy's eldest son, who has moved home to help manage his father's estate, whose health is failing in his old age. Old Deuteronomy has built up considerable goodwill with his neighbors and with the town, which Macavity is burning through frighteningly quickly. He is charming enough, and yet.

His wife, Demeter, is a nervous woman, shaky and hysterical—privately, people whisper that she really ought to be committed, and she would be, most likely, were it not for her husbands obvious fondness for her. She played the piano in her youth, but her hands shake now, and her claws are far too infrequently trimmed.

Their daughter (most likely) is Jemima. At the time of the au, she is sixteen years old. She was born premature, from a difficult pregnancy that nearly killed her mother, and she was a sickly child. She's a sweet girl—polite and quiet. There is nothing wrong with her that even the cruelest gossip could name, but— and here people trail off, and the person they are talking to nods. There is some strange light in her eyes.

"Most likely" is because, infamously, Demeter was courting Macavity's younger brother just before she and Macavity were married—and Jemima was born just perhaps too soon after the wedding. It is not an insinuation one makes to his face. Munkustrap and Demeter stayed, somehow, friends.

And the real story starts when Macavity waltzes home with his mistress on his arm.

Well, you asked, so I can bother someone without a shame :) One OC, I'm especially proud - Silenia. She's a cat-witch, has a temperament, wicked sense of humour and is a Macavity's... partner and mother of his son. I'm writing sometimes about her in my Cats scenes, with jer name as a tag.

Do you have an oc who you are proud of? Can you tell about them? Again, probably, I know!

Love to see an OC who's on the more wicked side of things, also love the name Silenia.

And I actually don't have any own cats oc's, there is nothing wrong with oc's and I love to see all the oc's in the fandom. I just like to stick with the canon characters and that's the same for every media I consume.

What's your hcs for how they met/got to know each other as friends and/or more than friends?

omg i'm so sorry this took me forever to get to but the tuggoff brainrot is still happening!!!

so my main canon idea of how the two of them met and became friends is actually relatively simple!!!

Bustopher brought Mistoffelees and Victoria to the Junkyard when they were young cats, pretty much just after Macavity left with Bombalurina and Demeter.

it was partially to give his niece and nephew a new start, and to meet new friends, but Bustopher knew about Mistoffelees' magic, and knew that if he didn't try to put his nephew in a safe place, he would get hurt.

Tugger, at that point, was honestly at his lowest. He was healing from Macavity hurting him, he wasn't speaking to Munkustrap or Deuteronomy, and was contemplating leaving the Jellicles, because he could feel their stares and whispers.

but then he met Mistoffelees.

He actually found him as he was leaving the Junkyard. Tugger had made up his mind, and was sneaking out to leave once and fore all, and found found Mistoffelees practicing magic in a little secluded alcove. Mistoffelees was terrified. He heard briefly about the entire Macavity situation, and was hiding his magic, so having the youngest son of the Jellicle Leader find him made him believe he was about to be tossed away.

Instead, of course, Tugger swore to keep his secret, and even told Mistoffelees that he had been going to leave the Junkyard. They talked for hours, until the sun began to rise over the Junkyard, and the two of them were now the best of friends with a bond that no one else understood.

They were absolutely and completely inseparable, the only other cat who knew why was Victoria, because Misto couldn't keep anything from his twin, and Tugger adored the white queen like she was his own sister.

Just like how Tugger encouraged Mistoffelees with his magic, Mistoffelees was the one who encouraged Tugger to actually sit down and talk to Munkustrap and Deuteronomy.

Their move from platonic friendship to a romantic relationship was gradual, but obvious to the two of them.

There wasn't really an "oh... oh" moment for them, because they had a feeling that the other was it for them. That this cat who had been by their side through the hardest time, this cat who knew their deepest secrets, that they would one day dance together.

It just happened at their own pace, and they just slotted together into their romantic relationship so easily it was almost ridiculous that they hadn't done it sooner.

I just love Tugger and Mistoffelees supporting each other, and knowing the other's worst fears, and being able to help them and give each other the confidence they need, not just Tugger being the only one to build up Mistoffelees.

1940S CATS HUMAN AU??? Pls say more right now! Mechanic is such a Plato job I love it!

So I have, like, the skeleton concerning this AU, but I have recently been really into human!AUs that are closer to the time period that the original poems were written. I'm afraid I don't have a *lot* but the idea is vaguely shaped in my head.

Basically, I really only have thoughts regarding Macavity's circle, and it's not quite a *happy* one persay (also takes a lot of liberties by playing it fast and loose with historical accuracy): not exactly full blown organized mob, but skirting the edges. Demeter, a former entertainer, being a "mob wife" who got in her position by biting off just a bit more than she could chew and paying the price for it; Alonzo having long standing ties since he was a dumber and more desperate young kid who is trapped where he is and sees no real way out of it, jumps from blue collar job to blue collar job after (bonus: he's in love with the boss's wife which is extra funTM for him); Plato is Macavity's son from a previous marriage and got most of his jobs due to Alonzo's good graces of trying to keep him away from everything. Bombalurina was an artist (a singer, dancer and photographer) now informant who used to have a *thing* with Macavity, but ended up marrying another guy in his circle (who died at some point) to keep her tabs open and keep close after he married Demeter. Jerrie and Teazer are underlings and petty thieves (actually extremely brilliant ones who have gotten away with entite safes) who, again, are just on the fringes and not quite aware of the level of severity they're involved in (Teazer moreso than Jerrie), but are nonetheless in initiation periods. Etc. Etc.

Victoria in my mind is the daughter of a billionaire (likely very prestigious familial name, generational wealth, managed through the Great Depression pretty much unscathed); think like debutante level of wealth. She plays the piano and is just coming into her own in the world.

CATS ROYALTY AU NOTES

- King Deuteronomy ( Affectionally called Old Deut by his staff and close friends ) - Prince Munkustrap ( Heir to the throne ) and Prince Tugger.

- Former Prince Macavity has been banished from the kingdom for nearly 10 years, but rumors are that he is gathering a ragtag army just outside to border and aspires to dethrone his father.

- Tugger is the problem son, obviously, going above and beyond just to avoid the expectations and societal rules put on the shoulders of a prince. Rumored to be having affairs with a handful of common women.

- Bustopher Jones, advisor to the King, suggests an arranged marriage to attempt and maintain some sort of honor to Tugger's name. ( Old Deut was reluctant to chastise his son, as he's still recovering from the fallout with his eldest, but Bustopher Jones is a much more traditional and obsessed with the expectations of nobility, so he encourages Deut to take action. )

- The bride to be in question is Bustopher's own niece, Marchioness Victoria. She is a young and high spirited girl with good pedigree and manners. She is, however, deaf, and so will bring along with her an interpreter to aid in the early meetings until Tugger can be taught sign language himself.

- The interpreter she brings is her own twin brother, Marquess Mistoffelees. Isn't it funny how Tugger can't help but be more interested in the interpreter than his own bride to be?

- At the same time as their budding affections, Victoria finds herself enamored with a certain stableboy and decides expectations and marriage be damned! I'm going to chase after Plato!

- And then a young noblewoman comes to the door of the castle, a young kitten swaddled in her arms. She claims the child is Macavity's, and she and her sister request asylum to keep the child out of his grips. While the king's advisor is initially uncertain, Prince Munkustrap agrees to the request, proclaiming it is the least they could do. Though if he thought this young mother is quite pretty and she this prince so noble, neither would be able to vocalize it, of course.

I simply love Demestrap. Here's my story about them.

Macavity kidnap Demeter when she was a kitten and used his powers to abuse Demeter and mated her for more kittens. Munkustrap rescues Demeter and they both fought against Macavity until they've won the fight. When Munkustrap wanted Demeter to be part of the Tribe, all the cats went skeptical and immediately saw her as an outsider who works for Macavity. Munkustrap ignored their comments and hid Demeter under his care. Old Deuteronomy arrived and saw that Munkustrap was with Demeter who he saw was the newcomer of the Tribe. He understood why his son would do that and let everyone know that she's allowed to stay and to be nice to her. Bombalurina was another cat besides Munkustrap who wanted to be Demeter's friend and keep her safe from Macavity.

Family:

He's the only kit from Olivia's litter, she wanted nothing to do with the father however she passed some short time after Tugger was born. • she knew she wasn’t going to make it before hand and so she asked her dearest and closest friend Grizzabella to raise him as her own if she’d be willing too which Grizz accepted.

So tugger is the youngest Deuteronomy son his elder brothers are Munkustrap and Macavity. Though Macavity never liked tugger that much since he wasn’t “his real brother”

• grizzy girl stills ends up leaving though leaving the responsibility of watching a still very young Tugger in the hands of old D who being the Jellicle leader and now solo parent was very stressful.

• So munkustrap sort of taken up the responsibility of watching and taking care of Tugger.

Personality:

I really struggled with how to pinpoint what I think tuggers personality could go based on the wiki where he's said to be "Vain, perverse and inconsequent" but I wanted to add a lil more

While Tugger can be immature at times especially when he's messing with the older cats like Jenny and Jelly he means well, He's artful and knowing after all so he knows when it's time to joke around with the kittens and adults or when it's time to get serious.

He loves any and all attention he can get which is when he plays up to his "tugger antics". tugger's very charismatic and bold especially when he knows what he wants.

He's very caring with those he's closest with and he basically has a big soft spot for all the kittens.

This is completely headcanon based and I have no evidence to support this but he does have some fear or small anxiety that he's only tolerated for his looks which is why he's very particular about his grooming and appearance.

I expected I'd have a lot more ships for Tugger but I don't? huh anyways

Tuggoffelees: I mean come on how can I not? They're adorable in that video of Tugger kissing misto after the "Terrible bore" line and the Tugger wants what he can't have thing sold me. So they're often my main Tugger ship.

I loved it even more when I came up with the headcanon of Misto being Tuggers secret admirer before they get together, since Misto is a good listener he'd make things he found or conjured appear in Tuggers den that he heard tugger talk about as his way of showing gratitude.

Tugger was curious about a cork? and one sits right outside his den before noon

Tugger only found out it was Mistoffelees after he had just entered his den and a perfectly new yarn ball appeared out of thin air.

Tuggerina: Bisexuals in love are the moment the everything, I don't know why I ship this I just think they're a great power couple and their dynamic is cute.

They play flirt with eachother so often that everyone just assumed they were mates before they got together. While Tugger isn't as into PDA as Bomba keeping it more subtle with an arm over Bomba's shoulder or waist. However when they're alone togethere Tugger is practically putty in her hands.

he does in fact care for a cuddle though he'll never admit it to anyone else. when they've been mates for a while tugger plays way more up to the PDA.

-Bombatuggoffelees: everything I love wrapped in a neat little bow. (I also love Bombatuggoffelees when Demeter is another one of Bomba's partners)

-Tuggerjerrie: they they they they they are silly, I just like the potential dynamic between the two and Jerrie being a simp for Tugger. They can both get into some trouble together though I think Tugger would be slightly more responsible about it.

-Platonic! Demtugger is something I'm a big softy for too
