30th of August 1548 - Mary Seymour, only child of Catherine Parr, Queen Dowager of England and her husband Thomas Seymour, Baron Seymour of Sudeley is born at Sudeley Castle.
Mary was to be Catherine’s first and only child out of her four marriages. She is assumed to be named after Catherine’s royal step daughter The Lady Mary. Mary was also born the step sister of  King Edward VI by her mother and the cousin of the King through her father.

"I don't want your promise. I don't need it. Perhaps no one will understand my marriage to you. But I speak to you, and you answer. I ask you to do things. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't... but you do at least listen. To my thoughts, to my decisions. As if I were a person." CATHERINE PARR IN BECOMING ELIZABETH (2022)

you wouldn't happen to know of any books/other media about the daughter of Catherine Parr would you? (Non fiction or fiction)
I don’t think there is any…? Certainly not with her as the main character.
Of course she gets mentioned in KParr biographies (the few that there are) and literally the only fictional portrayal of her I think that exists is Becoming Elizabeth (and she’s not really even in that in any substantial capacity).
So yeah…I mean, I could be wrong, but yeah I can’t think of anything other than being talked about in Parr bios.

Did anyone else read this book? I remember reading it in middle school and I thought it was weird. It’s about Katherine Parr’s daughter and Elizabeth I and witchcraft maybe? Idk. There’s a guy named Bartholomew in it I think? And some ableism. Also kidnapping. I might be confusing it with other weird historical fiction novels I read in middle school (most not for kids) but this one is def about Mary Seymour. If you did read lmk what you thought because I want to know if I was the only one raising an eyebrow at this.

hey! i was wondering if you had any thoughts or info on mary seymour. i know we know next to nothing about her, and it’s thought that she died (very) young, but i’ve always thought it a little odd that we don’t have christening records or even know who her godparents were. i also find it strange that she was supposedly sent to live with katherine willoughby, rather than the herberts, or even with in the somerset household.
just curious if you had any insight!
Honestly, I really don't have much to go on, I believe she died very very young in the care of Catherine Willoughby or in the early stages of being looked after by her Uncle and Aunt. I wish William Parr or Anne Herbert were granted care of her or even Mary I.
There are a couple of reasons why I think this:
She was the daughter of a Queen of England (not of royal blood though) and would have had the care as such doubtless of her father being a traitor, so we would have seen requests and records for her upkeep and who was granted her wardship as both her parents were dead. After 1550 nothing really pops up.
If she survived she would have been seen as a possible wealthy heiress not only to Catherine's estates but some of Thomas' too, logically if she was married or betrothed her husband/potential husband and his family would have been wanting some of her inheritance and would of in turn been granted a lowly title (in true Tudor fashion) related to her parents' titles and some land from their estates. No such thing exists.
My other more wishful thought is if Catherine truly mended bridges with her stepdaughters - with the inclusion of the possibility of Mary I being her godmother - we would assume Mary would have been granted a position in one of their courts but no mention of this is made when we have mentions of Catherine's other relatives especially her brother William Parr.

Six the Musical: How much the kids look like their parents
Mary: Looks more like Lina than Henrat but it's obvious who her father is
Elizabeth: Looks just like henrat as in creepily similar. For a couple weeks after the kids were resurrected the queens did a double take when looking at her
Edward: Carbon copy of his mother. He and Jane could pass for twins
Mae: Looks just like Cathy but every once in a while she'll make a face or do an expression and everyone remembers who her father is.

Queen Katherine Parr: “Britain’s Royal Families”
The book, “Britain’s Royal Families”, was written back in 1989!! Alison Weir keeps reissuing her publications and doesn’t seem to update anything when she does. Would love to know her sources for some of these: the entry for Queen Catherine Parr. If you look at her entry—she has the grandfather of Parr’s actual husband as Parr’s husband. In actuality, Parr was married to Sir Edward Burgh,…
