The Mun and my Muses

Firstly, a quick intro. I go by JJ or Jace, (she/he/they, genderfluid) and I have about 15 years rping on various platforms. I recently returned to tumblr rping after leaving for a few years because of chronic illness and disability which can at times still make me slow. It also affects my memory and task fulfilling abilities at times so gentle (kind) reminders are always welcome. I'm not always slow though, I can also be very quick replier especially on a 'good hand' day. I love meeting new muns and am very open to most AUs, plotlines and trying out all manner of pairings for chemistry. But I'd rather chat first than get 'cold called' rp style. If I'm not TW tagging something already, please just ask and I will. hello!!!!!!! i sure do!!!! they are so great together and we deserve more of them tbh

okay so in no particular order

i love the idea of rapha and mel as like, the prankster couple. you know? because mel is surely a little trickster but they can't lie. but raphael? not only can he lie, but he absolutely can and will keep a straight face as he tells you whatever it is that meliorn cooked up this time. raphael isn't as good as thinking up pranks, but he can deliver them perfectly and he is secretly a little shit so like boy does he enjoy himself

they don't do anything too mean or bad but like, that prank where you call your partner/parent and tell them you've been pulled over for speeding and told the police it's because said partner/parent fell down and now they're following you home? that shit is right up their alley and 100% the kind of shit they would pull on simon

on that note, raphael is an absolute enabler for all things meliorn. oh you have a thing for fire? why didn't you tell me before? i have some logs quick let's light 'em up. you don't know which of the blonde shadowhunters is jace? that's so valid. i've gotcha. oh you don't want to pretend you know? okay i'll pretend i also don't know him then. yes babe you absolutely should eat the whole table of treats in this council meeting before it even starts. oh hey alec. no i have no idea who just ate the whole table of treats, why do you ask?

on a sweeter note: raphael loves calling meliorn pet names in spanish and meliorn adores it and absolutely melts. particularly bella, linda, princesa, because rapha is an absolute sucker and that's just how it is. also, i know that i usually use they/them for meliorn but i actually hc that they go by them all and she/her meliorn? especially in spanish? effervescent

flowers!!! okay i think that flower language is like a whole Thing for seelies and that it matters to them a lot, so once raphael learns that he just starts getting them the nicest, most thoughtful vases? a bouquet or something wouldn't be appreciated because it's a dead plant and seelies mourn them, but vases are great and raphael always make sure his flowers look their best and puts a lot of thought into the arrangement and messages. in return meliorn gives him all sorts of enchanted plants for the dumort and taki's, because they know how much rapha wants to make these spaces feel like home for everyone and i just aaaaa. getting the vampires flowers and plants that don't need sunlight so they can keep them, make the air feel fresher and nicer and maybe have some flowers and fruits..... don't touch me okay im so emo

they both know that the seelies/vampires are family for the other so they make sure to bring them gifts too :) and think of them and be respectful towards them, and it's great

meliorn rarely ever had a non-seelie partner frequently visit the seelies with them or participate in their customs and traditional parties before, so they treasure that a lot. raphael genuinely thinks that the seelie realm is beautiful and their culture is so rich, and he understands the feeling of being an outsider and having your culture othered and looked down on, so he enjoys getting to know meliorn's

once raphael starts being able to eat again with madzie's potion (that WILL happen god damn it!) meliorn cooks for him too, excited to show him all the tastes and textures of seelie cuisine and ingredients. raphael is in awe of it all, because so many things he never heard of before! meliorn teaches him how to use and care for the ingredients properly and raphael is like the only non-seelie they would ever trust with that knowledge, because raphael treats the ingredients and food with the same care and love that's essential in seelie culture, as they are all living things for them

speaking of tastes and textures, raphaeliorn is autism solidarity :)

they are both cuddlers but like, in a lowkey way? like they enjoy some good ol' spooning of course, but they just really love to casually be in each other's space as they're doing their own thing. like each of them reading a book in a corner, but with their legs tangled together and touching? that kind of thing? yeah :') so they're always giving each other small touches and it's so comforting and nice and they can just stay together like that for hours

they have a lot of companiable silences, yes, but they can also talk about their respective interests forever. they both are great listeners and great talkers. raphael can rant about food or the stars for hours and meliorn's attention won't be snatched away for a second, they're just in for the ride. and meliorn can also explain the intricacies of seelie magic and tell raphael stories of their past or talk about bugs for hours and raphael will hear it with a smile on his face

on that note: they love each other's voices. sensory heaven is having your legs entangled with your partner's and listening to them calmly speak about their interests in their deep, beautiful voice. that's just how it is

meliorn never plays games with raphael, because they know they never have to. in seelie culture, speaking clearly and openly is a huge sign of trust, as truth is their greatest weakness. and to raphael that's a relief, because games tire him out and he's always been very honest about his feelings, too, when he's safe to. meliorn speaks clearly and openly, and raphael does the same, and listens intently, like every word they say is precious :')

sometimes meliorn will say something like. "your heart is one of the best ones i've ever seen", you know, those deep signs of appreciation that absolutely baffle raphael because he sees himself as so- dirty, like he's constantly apologizing for his existence, like he's walking sin. but when meliorn says that, raphael believes them fully, even before he fully registers that, of course, meliorn can't lie. but that barely even matters because something about meliorn makes him believe them instinctively

I have this headcanon that Magnus still understands and uses the Victorian flower language.

• Alec gets all the flowers that mean nice, romantic things, and once he understands what they mean he sends them too. He keeps the ones he gets in his office, and everyone has stopped questioning this by now.

• Everyone in the Downworld Cabinet gets flowers at some point.

• Luke makes a note of his and googles them later. They always represent nice things like friendship and respect, though, so he’s always glad to receive them.

• Raphael rolls his eyes like a teenager who’s embarrassed by his old fashioned parent, but he does still appreciate the idea.

• Meliorn also appreciates the gesture, and also sends flowers back. They’re usually ones he grows himself. He is somehow able to convey messages that the original flower language didn't cover- everything from "The Queen says hi" to "Is Raphael seeing anyone?" Magnus isn't exactly sure how he manages it.
