Thanksgiving is over, so we can officially get excited for Christmas! Although I am not Christian, I celebrate this holiday with my family and friends as a cultural occasion. One of the Christmas traditions I enjoy is listening to classical music for the season, especially Handel's Messiah. This magnificent piece of music features angels a lot, so this musical angel seems the perfect herald for the holiday season.

Los colores cálidos de los tornos caracterizan la escena en la que Cristo en la cruz está a sus pies sobre un gran paisaje, con la Madre, una mujer piadosa, la Magdalena y Juan Evangelista. La pintura fue ejecutada, como dice la inscripción en la etiqueta al pie de la cruz, por Marco Palmezzano, alumno de Melozzo da Forli, también influenciado por Francesco Francia y Giovani Bellini. Recordada en la sacristía de la iglesia florentina de Monte Uliveto, la obra está en los Uffizi desde 1844.
