Harvey being willing to sacrifice himself for Mike in the season 5 finale hits even deeper when you remember that jail time for a former prosecutor is almost as bad as jail time for a former cop (and Harvey would probably have gotten a lot longer than 2 years).

Mike probably would have survived his two years at Danberry if not for Gallo, but Harvey? Would have needed to be in protective custody (i.e., isolation or solitary confinement, or housed with other types of criminals in similar situations) 24/7, or would have been killed or severely injured otherwise.

No way Harvey didn't know this.

And there's no way Mike didn't either. Which is yet another reason he couldn't let Harvey go.

Mike this Harvey that, why do we never talk about how fucking unhinged Harvey was. Not only did he hire a shit talking movie quoting drug addict as a fake lawyer. HE PUT HIS OWN JOB ON THE LINE. for said fake lawyer. Again and again and again. He fought against his mentor for said fake lawyer. Like everything else kept aside. The first decision we see Harvey take is in itself so unhinged.

can we talk about how fucking proud Harvey looked when in season 5 during the senior partner meeting to vote Mike in as a junior partner, every single person voted yes. He didnt even raise his hand because he was just so proud. Mike had earned a place for himself and while he had to fight a war to get Mike the job, his kid had earned a seat at the table all by himself.
