I liked the part with the cool horse sweater.

A deliberately paced reflection on the impermanence of life. Melancholy in parts, but hopeful and sweet in others. Gorgeously presented shots of real, lived-in places full of believable characters, instilled a sense of authenticity.

Great natural performances, especially by Honoka Matsumoto and Ken Mitsuishi. A little too loosely structured and slow paced, though I'd argue that worked in this particular story's favour, to an extent.

Beautiful and bittersweet. Great stuff.

after the restaurant scene where mio’s friend tastes the turtle thing they were eating and says it’s pretty good, it cuts to him v* in an alley. only sound. then later, after a scene where there’s a man in front of a theater projection, it cuts to the drunk old man v*. some guy and his girlfriend run into him and threaten him a bit before walking off, and he v* again. only sound.
