The Pulsar Skate, a modified Baudo-class star yacht Mirax Terrik used for her smuggling operation (which she took over from her father Booster when he was arrested) and later to help the New Republic (X-Wing: Rogue Squadron)

The Lady Luck, Lando Calrissian’s yacht modified to include hidden laser cannons, a deflector shield generator, a scanner and transponder system for the use of aliases, and smuggling compartments, as well as luxury amenities such as a reflecting meditation pool and a crystal garden (Heir to the Empire)

The Jade’s Fire, Mara Jade’s heavily modified personal luxury yacht and the first ship Mara personally owned, free and clear (Ambush at Corellia)

The Errant Venture, an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer (formerly the Virulence) captured during a New Republic battle by smuggler Booster Terrik, who was allowed to keep it if it was decommissioned and the excess arms sold to the New Republic. It was later painted bright red (X-Wing: The Bacta War)

Welcome to Part 2 of My Decisions, My Reasons: a Mara Jade memoir

Chapter 1 is up! Lightsabers Are Always Loaded - Chapter 1 This part of Mara’s story was harder to write than Darkness Kicks Back as there were more elements of canon that needed to be woven together to address this stage in Mara’s life and less overall direction from existing works. This is, of course, part of the point of this project. Mara often showed up in canon when it was considered useful for the story with only vague explanations of how she had been spending her time. This is an attempt to expand upon those vague descriptions and explore her motivations over the years.

Here, Mara talks about her experiences building the Smugglers’ Alliance as well as her early dabbling in Jedi training as she tries to figure out who she is in the galaxy now that she is free of Palpatine’s command.

This section covers the time period between the end of The Last Command and the defeat of Exar Kun just under halfway through Champions of the Force and I, Jedi.

If Star Wars Husbands Took Their Wives' Last Names

Han Organa: It sounds weird, but at least it makes more sense than Princess Leia taking the last name of a smuggler.

Luke Jade: No, because Mara's original last name doesn't correspond to an actual family. Palpatine could have made it up, for all we know.

Corran Terrik: Booster would probably feel a little better about it.

Kell Sarkin: It has a nice ring to it.

Wedge Wessiri: I associate his badass feats too closely with "Antilles" for this one to really land, but least AO3 tags wouldn't have to distinguish between Syal Antilles Fel | Wynssa Starflare and Syal Antilles | Lysa Dunter.

Did Winter have a last name before she married Tycho? I've seen "Winter Retrac" in some circles, but I have no clue where that comes from.

Jagged Solo: Sounds really weird until his first name is abbreviated to Jag, which is done 95% of the time anyway, and then it sounds really cool.

Time is an issue, and I do want to finish up the Triumvirate series and start posting the next set of Han & Mara stories, and those should be my priority! But I think the greater issue is coming up with three ideas that I would be interested in developing into a short story. I haven't taken the time to figure anything out!
