RAINBOW entertainment incorporated, better known as simply rainbow or often shortened to RBE, is a fictional entertainment company based in seoul, south korea. founded in 2009 by moon jiwon, an ambitious woman searching to make her break in the growing idol industry. the company has debuted 5 groups, including some of the most popular groups in the industry today. the company’s first group, XOX, was a short lived girl group trio with minimal success, which nearly brought about the end of the company. the group was forced to disband or the company would face bankruptcy.

the first ever RBE trainee and former member of the failed XOX, yang eunbi was committed to seeing her company reach the heights she always dreamed it could. in a last ditch effort to save the company, with eunbi as director, the company created the subsidiary the lucky one, funneling all of their last funds into one big leap -- an experimental co-ed group.

as eunbi’s calculated risks and knack for pushing creative boundaries produced success after success, she climbed the ladder within the company, becoming close with the founder and ceo. in 2017, a year after the debut of the company’s second girl group, moon jiwon is embroiled in a scandal thanks to the early, desperate days of the company and is put under investigation for embezzlement and tax fraud. In the face of this issue, she steps down, allowing for eunbi to take her place as ceo. As rainbow ent is beginning to take hold as a big player in the idol industry, eunbi has even bigger plans.

what's good gamers!? i'm eight and i'm tardy to the party because i have an insane sleep schedule lately. i have links below that will give you a bit more to work with, and under the cut i'll introduce you to my stressed out son, im daewon. give the like button a lil love tap for me and i'll raid your ims so that we can plot.

*˖ ⠀key points.

his mother was an opera singer, renowned for her talent and beauty. daewon idolizes his mother quite a bit. there were whispers that she was killed because she was a noble's mistress, yet his mentality is 'don't care it was the man's fault mom did nothing wrong' ( he has no clue what went on but there will be no im hyejin slander ).

he does not know shit about his father. he could be dead in a ditch, daewon would have no idea. he blames all of his bad traits on him.

for the first six years and some odd months of his life, he was raised by his mother in the beonhwa outskirts. his mother tragically passed in a house fire, leaving him to stay with the neighbor who rescued him until his eventual adoption by the house of magnolia at age 7.

magnolia's third in line ; he has no drive to rise any further in the ranks.

he's been busting his ass for his house since he was young to both rise up to the third spot, and now to maintain his position. he has a weird sense of obligation to the house for doing the bare minimum.

*˖ ⠀personality.

so very smart, but so very dumb. he's just a silly goofy lad.

tries his absolute best to be someone that's kind and approachable. though sometimes when he opens his mouth he's too critical or insensitive that he accidentally comes off as an asshole. (good intentions, terrible execution)

goes through periods of being very high energy and very low energy.. he's never in the middle.

he deals with a lot of conflicting feelings regarding his adoption — he's grateful for his basic needs being met but the amount of expectations that come along with being a child of one of the three houses weighs him down. he misses the freedom of just being daewon, the opera singer's son and not being im daewon, magnolia's third in line.

big on masking, both his mental health and feelings. his public persona is that of someone fairly easy-going, on the chattier side, could be perceived as fun but in a calm way, someone focused heavily on his pursuit for knowledge / those who see who he really is in private are used to dealing with both sides of him. one of being a bit quieter, not feeling like he has to engage as much as he does in public. they're used to him being more impulsive, freely making jokes and letting his feelings slip more often than not.

*˖ ⠀possible connections.

(for older muses) people that knew his mother ; he would love to hear stories about her.

(again, implied for older muses) someone that recognizes him for the stressed out child he is and has that underlying urge to baby him, bonus points if they too, are just a stressed out child.

(second muse inspo :eyes:) a grimy con man trying to claim he's daewon's biological father, so that he can have an in with one of the three houses. bonus points if they're not traditionally handsome so daewon can pull the 'no offense.. but my mom had standards' card.

(second muse inspo) siblings, siblings, siblings. right now daewon's the only magnolia affiliated muse and i crave violence both friendly and cunning sibling plots.

someone that sees daewon sneaking out on a regular and is wondering why he's always vaulting over the fence of the magnolia residence like he's some anime protag late for school.

moon tavern regulars!! he's there occasionally when he wishes to unwind. the lively atmosphere makes him feel right at home.

fellow animal lovers, daewon is a stray feeder, overly attached to animals that aren't his. he would listen to someone talk about their pet for hours — he's also this post for sure.

when daewon was younger, he was saved by one of his neighbors from a house fire. this same neighbor let him stay with their family until he was adopted by the house of magnolia. so any family to this neighbor, or for an older muse, the neighbor themselves.

someone that points out to daewon that he shouldn't feel so obligated that he was given basic necessities, maybe they have a darker view of how house of magnolia takes in these children and how exploitative it can be.

INTRODUCING, IM DAEWON OF THE HOUSE OF MAGNOLIA !

the TWENTY-THREE year old is said to look a lot like HAN JISUNG (HAN) and resides in the MAGNOLIA ESTATE. they are best known as the HOUSE OF MAGNOLIA'S THIRD-IN-LINE and ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN AT BEONHWA LIBRARY. look! i think they're headed this way! but make sure to read this CHECKLIST before you go.

a look further into their life . . .

PAST

im daewon was born in beonhwa to a single mother. his mother, im hyejin, was an opera singer. hyejin was a woman known by many for her beauty and talent; but to her son, she was like the moon. she was beautiful and shone in a way that she shares the sky with the other stars in the night.

from birth and until age 6, daewon was raised by his mother in the beonhwa outskirts. his days were spent with the local children, running through the beonhwa forest and peeking from the outside on the training grounds. he liked going along with anything his neighborhood friends were interested in doing, because the more they did the quicker the day was over and he'd see his mother again.

his mother was the one to instill his core values of honesty, equality, open-mindedness, and empathy into him. she always had entertaining ways of teaching him these morals to him by ways of storytelling and uses of imagery.

the night of the fire should've been just like any other night: his mother would return home later in the evening after work, they eat dinner together, she would humor daewon's silly little musings of the day, sing him a song to sleep and they would both turn in for the night.

instead, daewon woke up in the middle of the night due to an increase in the temperature. it was summertime, but the nights were usually cooler so it becoming hotter during the night made no sense to him. as he left his own room, he saw his mother's room was engulfed in flames. his attempts to rip open the sliding door were semi-successful as it was jammed, he tried to wedge himself in the small entryway that was available, only to singe the back of his waist in the process. either finally awaking from the smell of smoke, or them hearing daewon's cries, one of the neighbors ripped him out of the burning house. with daewon being forced to sit outside, the neighbor went back in, but it was too late — hyejin was already gone.

the time in between his mother's death and his eventual adoption is like a blur to daewon. the elders tell him it's because he was under such tremendous stress, but he does remember bits and pieces. the neighbor who saved him let him stay with their family for a little while. not wanting to be a burden to his savior, he found work with the house of magnolia.

he started off as an errand boy, then he was tasked to shadow one of his siblings to learn the ropes, as time passed and he picked up in his own tasks he was eventually adopted by the magnolia house at the age of 7.

he has worked his ass off for the house of magnolia — not with the goal of rising the ranks or becoming the heir, but out of the mindset of they took care of him when he was young. he didn’t have to worry about where he would sleep, where his next meal would come from, or even if he would be safe throughout the night.

being in the house of magnolia for all these years he's learned the values of knowledge — to keep seeking it, influence — how to wield it for both the good and bad, and responsibility — what keeps him grounded in his decision making.

personality breakdown: relatively likeable, a for the people type of man; not just for his people, honest sometimes to a fault, sometimes he gets lost with his head in the clouds, he's not overly ambitious and is satisfied with just his basic needs being met.

PRESENT

daewon has a very naive take about beonhwa. he thinks that the three houses are doing a fine job especially since all he has to compare it to is the atrocities the kim family committed that he learns about in his history lessons. he does believe that there’s a lot of things that are very dated — i mean he’s in an arranged marriage to keep peaceful ties between the houses of mugunghwa and magnolia. couldn’t they just as easily exchange land, trade secrets, maybe access to the library’s basement, you know.. anything but their children’s lives?

the land itself is one that daewon has grown to love, as he was born and raised here. he’s not too keen on the wealth gap, even if he is on the side that benefits. he feels much more comfortable at the moon tavern than the more lavish options on flora ave. you aren’t scrutinized and looked at as if you’re an interesting painting found in the mugunghwa gallery when you’re in the moon tavern.

FUTURE

with their respective canons practically dooming the relationship between rush daffodil and amaryllis i would love to write through daewon having a real first love. i imagine daewon trying to be as respectful to his betrothed as possible, always loyal to her but he has no real concept of what romantic love is supposed to look like.

due to how daewon would personally view his sibling narcissus’ selfish desires, he would be a huge supporter of primrose. i would like to write through him practically being primrose’s hype man or him trying to actively sabotage narcissus to make them look bad. just overall the angst that there could be to write in having a ‘you weren’t like this when we were growing up’ type of relationship with narcissus.

after the loss of his mother, daewon was eventually taken in by house of magnolia. due to them taking him in at such a young age, and the care he received he has a strong sense of loyalty to the house. i think it would be fun to write through someone flipping his viewpoint on the house/houses, whether it’s hearing rumors about the houses from someone like wolfsbane or reading an article from petunia about some heinous shit they’ve done.

i really want to write a plot out with tiger lily with them having some sort of connection to his mother (even more so if they end up being a fem muse!); i have daewon written as someone that would’ve gotten his more progressive mindset from his mother, so someone that went outside of the norm of the ruling of the three houses could’ve been previously supported by his mother.

daewon has heard of some rumors that his mother’s death was no accident. it’s a haunting thought that lives at the back of his mind, and i think it would be a fun plot point to explore. as he currently is, he isn’t actively seeking out information on her death but he does keep an ear out for the rumors. seeing as he has no idea who his father is, the two tying together could also make for an interesting twist.

overall character development i would like to see is daewon pushing harder for some of the more progressive ideals that he has, being more firm regardless of how the houses elders would view him. as he currently is, he is able to think for himself but he still has a naive bias towards the three houses. i think it would be interesting to kind of flip his trust into distrust, trying to figure out who he can really trust around beonhwa, who can he put his faith into.

Veinte años | Capricornio | 29 de Diciembre | Estudiante de Psicología / Mesero.

· El hijo menor de un matrimonio disfuncional , cuyo divorcio marcó su vida a la corta e inocente edad de tres años. Moon siempre fue un niño apegado a su madre ; por lo que no fue sorpresa que tras la disolución de su pequeña familia , pasara a quedar al cuidado de su madre mientras que su hermano mayor , Ryeo Daewon ,quedó bajo la custodia de su padre . Separar a los pequeños no fue una de las mejores ideas que sus progenitores pudieron tener, ya que eso dibujó una no tan fina línea entre ambos y es que mientras Moon crecía bajo la educación de sus abuelos maternos y su querida madre, Daewon estaba forjándose al modo de su padre lo cual, con los años, causó ciertas diferencias y roces entre ellos.

· Su infancia pasó con la normalidad de un niño al que no le faltaba nada. Su desempeño en el colegio siempre fue bueno y pronto se terminaría de convertir en el orgullo de sus abuelos, quienes pasan más tiempo con él ya que su madre debía de trabajar para mantenerlo. Desde muy corta edad mostró tener talentos en la música : tocaba la guitarra, el teclado y le gustaba cantar en las pequeñas fiestas familiares. Sin embargo nunca incursionó más allá en sus dones dado que creía que solo era bueno pero no lo suficiente como para alcanzar un rango mayor o siquiera dedicarse a eso. En su sana adolescencia pasó por muchas facetas, desde los días en los que el delineador negro adornaba sus párpados como el esmalte sus uñas, o esos en los que soñaba en convertirse en un famoso y reconocido doctor, más nunca cayó en los excesos o se volvió un dolor de cabeza para aquellos con quienes que vivía. Su mentalidad era centrada , enfocada en lo que quería y en lo que deseaba aún y si estos deseos a veces parecían bizarros y demasiados lejanos de ser reales.

· Nunca le faltó nada. Siempre tuvo amor, apoyo y mucho cariño por parte de sus amigos y familia, dado que era bastante popular y social en sus años de colegio básico. Sin embargo, con el paso de los años y casi cumplidos sus diecisiete, es que algo cambió en él : Una mañana, fría y de invierno, despertó con un vacío en su pecho aunado a una sensación de búsqueda como de pérdida que dentro de su pecho se remolinaban, trayendo a él los primeros días de inquietud que pronto se volverían en una nueva normalidad para su persona. Su abuela, mujer sabía y de edad avanzada que conocía sobre la vida mucho más que otros, le contó que solo se trataba de sus vidas pasadas. Que estaba teniendo un momento de realización en que su yo del presente se conectaba con el del pasado , aquel quien fue alguna vez y que había reencarnado en él el día que nació. Moon nunca lo creyó como tal. Pero la idea de que algo místico pasaba con él le hacía sentir de alguna forma especial, aún y si cada día se volvía más inquietante el vacío dentro de su pecho.

· El paso de los años trajo consigo la costumbre y con ello, el que eventualmente Ryeo Moon dejase de preocuparse demasiado ante esto. Personalidad :

Es una persona de carácter noble y decidido. Tiende a ser demasiado amable y abierto con la gente, sin esperar nunca nada a cambio. Suele tender temporadas en las que el mismo vacío de su pecho lo lleva a ser un poco nostálgico, lo que lo orilla a pasar tiempo solo ya que no gusta de contagiar a las personas con su humor. Es empático, risueño y sociable ; las relaciones son algo que se le dan fáciles y esa es otra razón por la que ha decidido estudiar psicología . Se siente conectado con el resto. Es bueno escuchando y prestando atención a pequeños detalles que, muchas veces, son el detonante de grandes cosas. Entregado y pasional ; una vez que empieza con algo no lo deja hasta que lo termina o consigue los resultados deseados. Suele ser competitivo cuando se trata de actividades que requieran de demostrar sus habilidades en el campo, mientras que en otros aspectos simplemente le gusta compartir con las personas y divertirse.
