Been working on this for quite a while. Art style study of Ippei Gyoubu, mechanical designer of Moon Gundam. Pose is by me, from a photo of the Moon Gundam model kit. I'm very happy with how this came out.
Moon Gundam is only giving me additional ammunition for my hypothesis that Char kicked off the Second Neo Zeon War in UC 0093 because he wanted a rematch with Amuro Rey, his kismesis.
I was chatting with @reversemoon255 the other day on the subject of Alus customs that aren’t just repaints, and he mentions This^ to me, and I’ve been giving it some thought.
While he’s not wrong in the sense that Alus itself doesn’t ACTUALLY look like any existing mobile suit, here’s something to consider-
No offense to people who like the Nu Gundam, but Nu is a really generic/typical Gundam design, and while this elegant simplicity is nice and all, it’s a borderline blank slate that’s ripe for customization and practically reflected perfectly with the Fake Nu, for how bare bones it is. So in which case, you don’t try to make Alus look like something, but rather, you try to make Fake Nu look like what you want-
Don’t be afraid to take any creative liberties either, because Alus armors are intended to look “edgy”, so by all means you can darken the colors, use pointed elements, put your own ideas into it, etc, it’ll still read as [insert gundam here], which is the whole point, since Alus’ armors are designed to be evil-counterparts.
The same principals can still be applied even if you aren’t using Fake Nu as a base- You just keep in mind the suit(s) your armor is intended to be based on, and look for ways to implement similar designs/elements/etc because, again, and for example, if your [insert armor here] still reads as a [suit it’s based on], people will naturally pick up on the parallels between the two, and in which case, you’ve then successfully illustrated what yours is without needing to explain it outside of names alone.
This is the most highly detailed, meticulously engineered high grade I've ever seen. It looks cool as fuck and is about as detailed as a master grade but at 1/144 scale. Get this kit if at all possible.
Finally finished putting together Moon Gundam. What a great HG kit. So many great gimmicks. Kind of want to build another one…
Shouldn’t have started my posing/photo shoot with the surfing shot because now I don’t want to change it. So for now, no shots of the psycho plates in their iconic moon formation.
TOP 10 ANIMANGA ON FANFICTION.NET BASED ON NUMBER OF FANWORKS (1999-2022)
To make this bar chart race, all series titles in the Anime/Manga Section on November 29 (or the closest date to it) of every year were copy-pasted from Wayback Machine to Google Sheets, rearranged according to number of fanworks, and then inputted to Flourish to turn into a bar chart race.
In 1999-2001, FFN used Anime as a catch-all tag for all anime that didn’t have their own category yet before it was removed in 2002 onwards.
In 1999, fanfiction weren’t divided into sections like Anime/Manga, TV, Books, etc. yet. It was just a small list of mixed fandoms.
Originally, the fanfiction list was sorted alphabetically too, but was changed to number of fics at around early 2013.
By November 2013, FFN started abbreviating numbers above 1,000 to K, so exact numbers aren't available for series with more than 1,000 fanfiction.
Thanks for understanding and hopefully I didn’t mess up anywhere! 🙏
Edit: This bar chart is all made with the assumption that the numbers listed in section are correct. I can't seem to get the same numbers for some for these series when I go to the specific series' page and filter everything to All though... I don't know if I'm missing something or not...
For example, currently, the anime/manga section says Naruto has 439k fics, but going to the Naruto page and filters, ratings and language to All, it says there's only 413k fics. There's also 37.3k crossover fics, but adding would be equal to 450k fics... If anyone can clue me in on how FFN calculates these numbers, I'd be very grateful.🙏
