Christian was stuck in line at the front desk, waiting to check into the hotel. You stood in the lounge area not too far away with your suitcases, mindlessly scrolling through your phone. You didn’t even notice that someone had walked up to you until they cleared their throat, pulling your gaze away from your screen and onto them. “Hey beautiful, how are you? Name’s Alex. What’s yours?” he asked over confidently. “I’m fine, but I’m going to stop you right there and let you know that I’m not interested.” You stated firmly. “Aw, come on beautiful! Don’t be like that. Let me show you a good time, show you off and spoil you like a princess should be.” He continued. You rolled your eyes at his audacity, but that didn’t faze him. “I said I’m not interested. My boyfriend will be back any minute, so I suggest you move on to someone else before he gets here.” The douchebag didn’t heed your warning, only laughed mockingly. “Now princess, why would I give two shits about your boyfriend?” he asked at the completely wrong time because Christian walked up and wrapped his arm around your waist, pulling you close. “Because I’m Christian fucking Cage. That’s why.”

The douchebag’s eyes grew to the size of silver dollars at Christian’s threatening tone. He raised his hands up in surrender and walked away as quickly as he could. It was no secret that Christian’s 6’1 toned frame was intimidating, but the scowl he often wore on his face and the “don’t fuck with me” aura that surrounded him made him come across even more menacing. Power and arrogance oozed from every pore of this man, especially when someone tried to mess with his girl. Christian drew your body closer and nuzzled his face up against yours. His beard was bristly against your soft skin, but you loved the way it felt as it skimmed over your cheek. He placed his lips right next to your ear and growled “That stupid fucker is lucky there are other people around or else I would’ve knocked all his teeth out and given them to Danhausen for Christmas.” You knew he was serious about knocking the guy’s teeth out, but the part about Danhausen made you to giggle, ultimately allowing Christian to relax a little at the sound of it. He kissed you fiercely for everyone around to see, publicly claiming you as his.

When the two of you came up for air, Christian grabbed your hand and walked you both in the direction of the front desk. “What are we doing? I thought you already checked in?” you asked. “I did, but I need to change something about our room arrangement.” He replied with a wicked gleam in his eye. Once the front desk agent greeted Christian, he really played up to them with his charm and cunningness in order to get exactly what he was wanting. “I am needing to change rooms. Do you see that gentleman sitting at the bar? I’d like a room directly next to his. I know this isn’t a normal request, but I really need it to transpire.” The agent looked at Christian uncertainly, clearly conflicted about what to do. “Yes, that is Mr. Thompson. He’s a frequent guest here. Are you an acquaintance of his?” they inquired. “I guess you could say that.” Christian shrugged. “I’m willing to pay for any inconvenience this causes the hotel or occupants already in the room. Money is not an issue. If there are guests staying there, upgrade them to something better and put it on my bill.” Your jaw dropped and so many thoughts were running through your mind. You had no idea why Christian had the sudden urge to change rooms, but with the vindictive look on his face, you knew he was up to no good.

The front desk agent eventually gave in to Christian’s charisma and agreed to do the room swap. He assured them that there was no ill intent behind his reasonings, just made up a random story about how they both work for the same company and that it would be easier to conduct their business with adjacent rooms. The guests who were in the room next to Alex’s were more than happy to vacate it when they were offered a suite on a different floor and 2 free massages at the hotel spa. Christian didn’t even question how much the new arrangements were costing him, he just slid his credit card across the counter. “Thank you, Mr. Cage. Here are your new room keys. You’re now on the 16th floor and you’ll take those elevators down the hall on the right. Enjoy your new room, and if there’s anything else you require, please don’t hesitate to reach out!” the agent said pleasantly. Christian nodded and held your hand once again as the two of you pulled your suitcases to the elevator and rode it up to your floor. “What the hell was that all about? Why would you want our room to be next to that creep?” you asked perplexed. “I can only imagine how much that suite the other guests were upgraded to cost you. Not to mention the massages!” Christian pressed the key card on the reader and opened the door once the light turned green. “Every penny spent will be worth it once that fucker hears you screaming my name all night as I pound your pussy into the mattress.”

It thrilled you seeing Christian jealous and possessive like this. It made you feel desired and like you’re a fucking goddess! The longer you thought about Christian’s scheme, the more everything else became cloudy. You had a one-track mind now that was focused solely on your primal craving for Christian. Your body flushed a beautiful shade of pink as you felt your arousal blossom, lust surging through every fiber of your being. Your heart hammered against your chest as Christian walked over to you. “You like it, don’t you?” he asked in an insinuating tone. His fingers toyed with a strand of your hair as he waited for your answer. You took the bait and asked, “What do I like?” Christian smiled at you as he pressed forward, causing you to back up until your legs brushed against the mattress. In one swift move, he wrapped his arm around your waist and slowly laid you down on the bed, his body now hovering above yours. In a controlled tone, Christian answered, “You like the thought of that asshole hearing us fuck. You like the idea of me buried deep inside of you, claiming your sweetness as mine. I’m going to make him regret ever laying eyes on what’s mine.” As soon as the words left Christian’s lips, someone opened and closed the door to the room beside yours. He sat back on his heels, sliding his jacket down his toned arms while smiling devilishly. “It seems like Mr. Thompson has a knack for being in the wrong place at the wrong time today.”

Christian pulled his turtleneck over his head, revealing his delicious, sculpted abdomen. His hands moved to his belt buckle, undoing it painstakingly slow as you watched from beneath him. You eyed him hungrily as if you hadn’t eaten in days and he was the only thing to satisfy your cravings. As he stood, his pants fell to the floor and his boxer briefs followed suit, allowing his hard length to spring free. He removed your pants swiftly as you shimmied free from them and took notice of how wet your panties were after he slid them down your legs next. You couldn’t help but chuckle when Christian wrapped his hands around your calves and pulled so your bottom half was resting at the edge of the bed. You and Christian looked at each other and smiled, pleased with the commotion you caused.

“I think Mr. Thompson learned a valuable lesson today.” Christian stated. “Oh, yeah? And what lesson is that?” you asked. “What’s mine is mine.” He replied as he made his way between your legs once again.

The Great Ties

In round 1, as we all know, Darby and Jack tied exactly at 85 votes apiece. It was decided they would both move on to round 2 in order to duke it out once more. Then they both lost. Darby lost to The Butcher by 20 votes and Jack lost to Trish Adora by 35 votes. This marks the end of both of their journeys with Darby getting a total of 193 votes and Jack finishing one slot above him at 216 total votes.

No one brought it up, but there was a tie in round 2 as well. Both Kota Ibushi and Mr. Brodie Lee earned a total of 79 votes. Working from the great tradition of precedent, they'll both be moving on to round 3.

And the near-tie that broke everyone's heart, Anthony Bowens VS Hangman Adam Page. The closest contest thus far that was separated by a single vote in Bowens' favor. Our cowboy will ride into the sunset and Anthony will live to scissor another day

▪️Toni Storm is the drama teacher. She has a very specific teaching style. Her students don't generally do well in movies but by god, do they take stages across the world by storm. No one chews scenery like Toni Storm's students chew scenery. Danhausen works part time with her as an improv teacher. Those students who take to him tend to flourish in stand up comedy or sketch shows.

▪️Evil Uno teaches languages. His students are weirdly militant about his classes. They have matching purple sweaters. All the other teachers are 👀 about it because no one else has ever managed to get two kids to wear the same clothes, never mind an entire class. His after school class is always full. The kids learn latin... or something close to it.

▪️Max Caster teaches music. His kids are rowdy but their scores are up so the faculty leave him be. He has a longstanding antagonistic frenemyship with biology teacher Mr Friedman. He says "Mr Friedman is my best friend" when anyone asks but best friend sounds a lot like something else to teenagers. The kids all whisper about it because someone started a rumour that Mr Friedman had been spotted at Max's rap show one night a couple towns over.

▪️Eddie Kingston teaches Home Ec. No one calls it a girl class more than once. He's brash but he's a great teacher and everyone, no matter their skill level going in, leaves with the ability to feed themselves, mend their clothes and grow rudimentary food. "It's not much but it's something" is his motto.

▪️Athena teaches gym. Her speciality is Cheer. Her kids win and win and win and win. There's always atleast one parent per year who complains about their kid being called a minion but a quick meeting and that's all cleared up, no more phonecalls.

hi hello! i’m trying to get into wrestling, thanks in part to your excellent fics, & im not sure where to start—do you have any advice? should i just watch the next match & catch context where i can?? i’ve seen the hookhausen primer, but beyond that i don’t know much of the Lore…what do you think?

Thank you again for your patience while I was out of town and couldn't answer this! I'm now ready to settle down and show my whole ass and admit I don't really have any good advice, but what I'm about to talk about will be specific to All Elite Wrestling (AEW), which is trying (and succeeding imo) to be WWE's younger, more hip sibling.

I'm gonna stick this under a cut because this is a stupidly long reply to your question. And I'm also gonna refer to a generic "you" as I'm hoping this will help other people who are thinking about hopping onboard.

The first trick to enjoying wrestling is by following your pussy (or pussy equivalent). The second trick to enjoying wrestling is finding one or two people to scream at. I don't speak for everyone (obviously), but I've randomly messaged so many people in fandom and they've all been happy to yell about our favorite clowns at the circus.

(For anyone reading this, my messages are always open, or you can find me on discord @ blacktofade#2949. Just know that I have every notification turned off and I will see things when I see things lmfao)

For me, getting into wrestling (again, specifically AEW) went: reading fic on AO3 -> watching some content of one specific wrestler on YouTube -> watching what I could of the AEW weekly schedule -> finding more wrestlers I liked and reading more fic on AO3 -> rinse and repeat.

There's too much lore (and often content) to feasibly digest it all as a new fan, so don't sweat it. Just have fun watching what you have time for and figure out who you enjoy most. Just remember that you're allowed to like anyone for whatever reason. We're all just here for a good time.

Also, most of the lore is hand-wavy at best. Most match promos are basically one person going "you did my man dirty by looking to the east on a wednesday at 5pm, therefore I have no choice but to fight you" and the other person says "yeah okay let's settle this in Ohio in a week like adults". Just go with it. Sometimes even with context, shit just doesn't make sense. Your job is to sit there going "yeah! kick their ass!" and to love every camp minute of it.

The great thing is that a lot of matches are on YouTube. Just search "[wrestler name] match" and you'll most likely find 10 years of content waiting for you. Pick at random. Don't try to go chronologically, or you'll drive yourself insane. See a thumbnail that interests you? Click it.

If you're lucky, you'll pick a wrestler who vlogs a lot (looking at you, Mr. Danhausen) and you'll be introduced to other wrestlers by association.

My favorite thing is watching two people wrestle on one of the AEW shows, and then looking them up later and finding out they had a major feud between 2010 and 2014 on three different continents and I'm very late to the party. This is part of the fun. Their history plays as big (or as little) a role as you want it to. You make the rules for your wrestling adventure. Anyone who says differently is a huge fucking nerd and you can tell them I'll meet them in the parking lot after school.

Now, for actual helpful info on how to literally watch wrestling:

When/Where to Watch?

Wrestling nights are every night Mon, Tues, Wed, and Fri with the following schedule:

Mon – Dark Elevation on YouTube @ 7pm EST (midnight UTC) Tues – Elevation on YouTube @ 7pm EST (midnight UTC) Wed – Dynamite on TBS @ 8pm EST (1am UTC) Fri – Rampage on TNT @ 10pm EST (3am UTC)

The Mon and Tues shows are the easiest to watch since they're on YouTube and you can watch them whenever you want after they air. They usually save the meatier matches for Wed and Fri and there are plenty of ways to watch those while sailing the seven seas 🏴‍☠ and I definitely won't share info about these if you message me...

It took me the longest time to figure this out, but they film the YouTube matches on the same days as Dynamite/Rampage (which are live shows). For example, an episode of Dark might be filmed on Friday, but won't air until the following Tues. Which is why you might see the same outfits or people in the crowds, and also why you might see spoilers on socials from people who were there in-person for Dynamite/Rampage.

Live shows have a post show for people there in-person, too. It's typically along the lines of "let's bring out this wrestler and you can clap and they will tell you they love you". Sometimes, it's a lil extra kayfabe beef between wrestlers. And sometimes, very kind people record these and put them online for us to gobble down. Would definitely recommend searching YouTube or Twitter on weekends after shows.

Throughout the year, they also have Pay Per View (PPV) events, which are additional-cost shows typically on weekends and they're like 5 hour of pure nonstop wrestling for $50. They're a blast. Highly recommend if the brainrot is eating you alive.

Independent Wrestling?

I have dabbled only slightly outside of AEW, but for $10/month, you can get a subscription to IWTV (Independent Wrestling TV, not to be confused with Anne Rice's masterpiece lmfao), which has an insane amount of matches, an excellent search engine, and a video player that isn't pure trash.

This is a particularly fun investment once you've started to get to know the general AEW roster, because familiar faces pop up EVERYWHERE.

Finding Matches?

One of the hardest things is trying to figure out where to begin with finding matches for a specific wrestler or team.

CAGEMATCH is the single most important wrestling resource on the internet. Hands down.

You can search for any wrestler and it will compile a neat little list of every single match they've ever participated in. It will also tell you who won, how long the match was, where/when the match took place, and usually where you can (pay) to watch it. This can be extremely helpful for 1) writing fic and 2) finding lore between wrestling characters.

WTF is Kayfabe?

This also took me way too long to figure out, but kayfabe is the act of pretending what happens in the ring is real (real fights, real beef, real characters, etc). They're not doing fancy stunt work, they're actually kicking the shit out of each other. Most interviews are kayfabe compliant as they sit there and go "yes, on wednesday I will be murdering my enemy live on stage". It's very fun.

The "not kayfabe compliant" tag on AO3 is typically used when the fic uses shoot names (aka real names). For example, Donovan vs. Danhausen, Jim vs. Orange Cassidy, etc.

Fandom Etiquette?

Wrestlers are often easy to interact with, whether it's here, or Twitter, or Twitch. Don't. Don't even look in their direction if you're posting about ship-related content. Don't send them links. Don't @ them. If you want to keep your space safe, block them and stop them from seeing your content.

On AO3 you can lock your fic to give an extra layer of protection (and sometimes some cunt will send an ask to a wrestler here on tumblr telling them specifically how to get around it lmfao). Do what makes you feel comfy. I leave mine open because if anyone finds it, that's between them and god. I also haven't felt shame since the 90s.

ANYWAY. TL;DR: there are many ways to get into wrestling, but I hope you have fun on your wrestling adventure because that's the important thing.

As the tournament got more popular, more votes started coming in, which is how some winners got so few votes. Over the last two weeks, the vote counts look like:

(Day 6 was the Great Riho VS Kip Sabian Battle of 2023 and also featured Ricky Starks and Nick Jackson in the voting with just shy of 600 votes just between the four of them. Day 11 was the Roderick Strong VS Trent Beretta debate and also Danhausen, garnering well over 600 votes between the three of them)

My Current Dream Matches for Evil Uno

Thought I'd compile a list of opponents I'd love to see Uno up against since he is my favourite wrestler and I constantly love dreaming up opponents for him. If they were to actually happen, many of these would have to happen on the Indies but he is constantly taking Indy Wrestling bookings so I don't see that as a barrier but this is also just me dreaming up fantasy matches. Also feel free to send me your dream matches, whether that's with Uno or other wrestlers.

Danhausen

Outside of both of them being babyfaces which we've had many babyface vs babyface matches so I don't see why that would be a barrier, why hasn't this match happened yet? The few times they have interacted, whether it be Danhausen cursing Uno, tweets back and forth between the two or featuring on each other's vlogs, it's always a moment that is so loved by fans including myself, we really need a match between the two.

Penta Oscuro

I've joked about this before since Penta is Mrs Uno's crush so it should be in a Mrs Uno deserves nice things match 💀 but I'd really love a one on one match between the two. They have fought in tag team action before which was a really fun match but gimmie a one on one.

Thunder Rosa

They have a really cute friendship so I wouldn't even mind it if they tag teamed but after their tweets, let Rosa pin Uno... in a wrestling match.

Taya Valkyrie

I mostly want this match between I really really love the two but both Uno and Taya have loads of experience in intergender wrestling so gimmie my two faves against each other.

Trey Miguel

Ever since Uno faced Lince Dorado at Blitzkrieg! Pro (I'm aware that's not their first interaction but it was their most recent), I've been really wanting to see Uno wrestle more high flyers and Trey has been killing it (I really recommend his match against Mike Bailey at Impact Wrestling Against All Odds from this year), I'd really love to see all the different things they both could do with each other.

Tomohiro Ishii

A couple of times just recently I've heard people refer to Uno as a underrated hard hitter, why not give him a opponent where he could show off those skills?

Toru Yano

Speaking of NJPW stars, Uno has been calling for a match with Yano, give him his dream match + I could really see both of them having a really entertaining match.

Black Taurus

It's said a lot about big men who can fly but Taurus can do things that I don't think most people would expect when you first look at him. He is kinda underrated, similarly to Uno but I feel like they would have a really fun match. Preferably if Uno wants to, in Mexico as I'd love to see Uno in a AAA ring but even if it were to happen in a Indy promotion running in the USA or Canada, definitely wouldn't be against that either.
