more information below the read more ! 

1. that’s leyendas de guatemala by miguel angel asturias. i would like to think sam would either learn spanish or get the english version to learn more about guatemalan legends. “the lore” you could say... because he’d def feel a disconnect since maria (mary) wasn’t there to teach him about duendes and other creatures  2. that’s a cinta para pelo (headband for hair) i like to think sam grows out his hair even longer so dean can braid it or sam would wear a cinta heres a video of how they go in hair. i remember my mom used to put it in my hair and she would be so rough 😭dean would be aggressive abt it too. also it usually worn by women but i think sam gets gender fuckery as a treat. <3  3. that’s san pascualito or also known as san pascualito muerte and el rey san pascual. he’s a folk saint and pretty much like the syncretism of catholism and indigneous guatemalan beliefs. san pascualito is also the king of the graveyard and he’s the patron of curing diseases, death, healings, cures, vengeance, love, graveyards. i feel like sam would have a connection to him. (source trust me) 4. mal del ojo warding bracelet 😎the one he usually wears tho was given to him by dean. but when he was a baby, maria made sure he had one on his right wrist, he wore it until he grew out of it. had a time during childhood tho, were he angrily tore it off and was like “it didnt ward off evil, mama still died” and dean is like “but it protected u from the fire :(” and he fixes it for sam.  5. it sam.  6. theres a street market in antigua that i know sam would LOVE he’d buy almost everything bc he just wants to connect with his culture so bad 😭he’d buy one of those cheesy chapin shirts.  7. ucla hoodie. he’d go to ucla instead of stanford bc ucla is more latine and he’d minor in chicano studies. he’d want to go to law school to become a immigration lawyer. he’d def join a latino fraternity. he would try to submerge himself in latine cultural  8. guatemalan tamales!!! sam’s favorite food ( i think he likes ceviche too tho) these are wrapped in banana leaves vs cornhusks and softer in texture. also a lot bigger than mexican tamales.  9. this man would KILL it at lotería. would make dean cry every time but he would be nice to cas and jack and let them win... sometimes. absolute beast.
