Fought for Me
Chapter 7: A Promise, a Late Night Rendezvous
(TW WARNING! There will be intense injury in this chapter due to the fact that Sisu got shot. It won’t be too gruesome but I wanted to give everyone a heads up! Enjoy!)
Rage quickly filled Raya’s body at seeing the arrow pointed at her heart. After everything, and Raya really means everything, that’s happened between them? Namaari was seriously going to screw her over like this? Oh Raya could actually kill her right now! And she definitely would have, if Namaari was the one with the arrow.
Though it took Raya a couple of seconds to process what was happening, her brain finally caught up when Namaari moved in front of her to block the arrow. As it would turn out, the voice that claimed to be taking the gem pieces was from a man.
Raya was rather embarrassed to find that with Namaari’s body moving right in front of her her, she couldn’t see what was happening. She decided to poke her head above Namaari’s shoulder to get a better view. Along with the man that just spoke, there were about fifteen or so Fang warriors with weapons.
Now that’s what Raya calls a problem.
“Stand down, Wahn. That is an order,” Namaari stated in an eerily calm voice.
Damn, that voice made Raya want to stand down and Namaari’s not even taking to her.
“I am operating under direct orders from Chief Virana,” the guy who’s apparently named Wahn stated.
“It is so like my mother to try and ruin my life,” Namaari mumbled to herself.
Raya frowned, thinking that maybe Namaari might have set this up. That there was some elaborate and devious plot to dupe Raya into thinking the Fang princess is innocent before utterly destroying her.
But Namaari’s not wearing scent blockers. She smells confused, distressed, and even a little betrayed. Probably due to the fact that her own mother has very different ideas handling whatever this situation is.
Point of the matter is that scent doesn’t lie. That means Namaari was truly only here to do what’s right. She had no intention of betraying Raya. And stupid Wahn is ruining it. Toi, what kind of name even is Wahn anyways? It’s the kind of name for losers.
“Step aside, Princess Namaari. There’s no reason for you to injury yourself for the likes of her,” Wahn stated, gesturing to Raya in disgust.
Rude as hell.
“Speak of her in such a manner again and see what happens,” Namaari growled before Raya could even respond.
Though she absolutely loathed to admit it, hearing the taller woman sound so protective over her made Raya a little too pleased. Her omega too. Why can’t Raya ever actually focus when she needs to?
“You know, I think we can all just, take a step back for a moment and reflect on our actions,” Sisu awkwardly interjected, likely trying to diffuse the situation.
Seeing the dragon begin to move closer, Wahn decides to aim the arrow at Sisu’s chest.
“I swear to all that is good in this world Wahn, if you pull that trigger I will personally see to it that you never touch a mere kitchen knife again,” Namaari warned.
“I have been given my orders and I will not go against them,” Wahn declared. “All of you either come with me willingly or we will have no choice but to take you by force.”
“I really hope you didn’t trust me enough to not bring a weapon because I do not have one,” Namaari whispered.
Suddenly Raya regrets insisting on a peaceful, no weapons meeting.
“I brought my father’s sword but I’m not too sure what that’s gonna do against a tiny army!” Raya fearfully whispered back.
“Give me the sword, I’ll do what I can to hold them off while you gather the others to safety,” Namaari mumbled while the Fang soldiers appeared to be getting more trigger happy by the second.
“Are you kidding me? You’ll look like a pin cushion if you go through with this! Your plan is awful. Seriously, why can’t I associate with someone who doesn’t think of garbage plans?” Raya scowled.
“Raya, for once in my life I’m actually doing the right thing, so stop-” Namaari had begun to say.
This is where it all went wrong. Raya’s not sure who did, but someone stepped on a twig. That was enough for everything to go to hell.
The sudden noise had to have startled the Wahn guy because even he looked surprised when he pulled the trigger. Normally, Raya had the sense to move and avoid a weapon being flung right at her, but she honestly couldn’t. Princess Raya of Heart is still as statue.
Her lack of action ultimately didn’t matter because Namaari took the liberty of throwing Raya to the ground, effectively getting the Heart princess  out of the way of any arrows that may pierce through her. Both Namaari and Sisu were not as fortunate.
When stupid Wahn pulled the trigger, it unleashed a wave of arrows from the rest of the Fang army. The rest of Raya’s human companions were far away enough to be out of the danger, but in Namaari’s efforts of keep the omega from the crossfire, she ended up getting pierced by an arrow in the process.
The arrow got stuck in Namaari’s left leg, causing her to scream in pain and collapse on the ground.
“Oh my gods!” Raya shrieked as she fell to her knees and git a closer look at the injury.
Raya’s panic mixed with Namaari’s pain was nothing compared to what they both felt after they saw one of the many arrows stab Sisu straight through the heart. The dragon didn’t scream, it all happened much too quickly for her to react. Instead, her eyes rolled into the back of her head as her body gave out. Raya could do nothing but scream as Sisu fall off the side of the cliff hit the ground.
Naturally, things went from bad to worse. Raya, still close to Namaari’s heavily injured body, leaned over the edge of the cliff to see what was at the bottom. What she saw would give her nightmares for years.
All the water had seemingly evaporated the moment Sisu was shot. The protection that Fang once held was gone. Everyone’s protection is gone. Raya’s mind jumped to Charanya and Aulia. They had nowhere to go. Her baby would turn to stone and there’s absolutely nothing she can do about it.
Tears began streaming down her face without Raya even realizing it. At this point, she just felt defeated. Not only did she lose the only thing that could have brought her father back, but she also lost one of the best friends she’d ever had.
Namaari’s groan of snapped her out of her thoughts and she quickly wiped her eyes to try and asses the damage.
“I’m so sorry. You’re a pin cushion because of me,” Raya sniffled, trying really hard to fight back sobs.
“Oh please, this isn’t your fault. I totally had this coming. I’ve been known to be an undercut binturi,” Namaari weakly smiled.
Namaari’s awful joke honestly just made Raya want to cry even more. The Fang woman was shot and yet she was still trying to make Raya feel better.
“If anyone’s sorry here, it’s me. I can’t believe I didn’t notice that I was being followed. You lost your friend because of me. I really am sorry,” Namaari chocked out mournfully.
“Oh don’t be stupid, this wasn’t your fault. That guy was way too trigger happy. I’m sure he would have found a way to get to us either way,” Raya sniffled.
Raya never thought she would be comforting Namaari. And she certainly never thought she would actually mean the words she said. It really does take one instance to change everything.
“That arrow needs to stay in until a proper healer can get their hands on,” Tong stated, causing both Raya and Namaari to jump.
Neither girl had noticed his arrival. Nor did they notice Boun and Noi right beside them. Damn, Raya needs to put a bell on those three.
“Let’s not worry about that now. My people, they need to get out of here,” Namaari said in a strained voice.
Raya’s honestly not too sure where they’re going to go considering the fact that with the water gone, there’s really nowhere to hide.
But, well, it’s better than doing nothing.
“Tong, you go ahead. We need to get everyone that’s not an adult or can’t stand on Tuk Tuk,” Raya said.
Despite Tong’s insistence on staying, Raya reminded him that someone had to help the other Fang citizens. Though he didn’t like it, the Spine man rushed off with a gem piece to try saving as many people as possible from the Druun.
Putting Boun and Noi on Tuk Tuk was no issue. Even the ongis got on without a hitch. The real issue was trying to get Namaari on without accidentally agitating her very prominent injury.
“Seriously, just leave me so that you and your friends can get out here. My people need help much more than I do,” Namaari sighed as yet another attempt to get on Tuk Tuk’s back failed.
Part of it was the fact that it was nearly impossible to get the alpha on the pillbug without digging the arrow deeper in her limb. The other part was the fact that Tuk Tuk is kind of a jackass and scoots away whenever Namaari comes near him.
“Someone’s self sacrificial today. Take it from me, it’s not a good look for you,” Raya frowned.
“Liar, I always look good.”
“You got shot in the damn leg! You look the opposite of good!”
“I look fantastic.”
“HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO REITERATE THE FACT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN SHOT! WITH AN ARROW! TOI HOW STUPID ARE YOU?!”
“There’s no need to yell at the injure-”
“FOCUS PEOPLE! THERE IS A CRISIS!” Boun yelled, effectively breaking up their argument.
Raya sighed and gently guided Namaari on the floor. She knelt in front of Tuk Tuk and crossed her arms.
“Listen, buddy, you gotta let Namaari on your back,” Raya insisted.
The pillbug did not budge.
“Okay, it was kinda funny the first time, but now I just want to get a move on! I get the fact that you’re still upset over being kicked and all but she was literally shot in the leg! I think that’s an acceptable form of retribution! Please Tuk!” the Heart omega begged.
Tuk Tuk, despite the grumbling, lowered himself so that Namaari had a better shot of climbing onto the shell.
With the power of love, friendship, and a lot of painful movements from Namaari, the injured woman was finally on Tuk Tuk.
“Finally! Okay, you two find Namaari a medic and help when you can, I’m going to go straight for finding Tong. I’m sure he needs backup,” Raya told them.
Boun nodded and steered Tuk Tuk off to find people to help and medics to save Namaari. Hopefully they could find help before said medic turned to stone themselves.
******************************
Raya didn’t even feel like she was her own person as she used her gem piece to help guide the Fang citizens back to safety. Her mind jumps from Sisu’s death to Namaari’s injury to how her baby is probably a statue right to how utterly powerless Raya felt right now.
At some point in the fray, she accidentally dropped her gem piece while the Druun was gunning straight for Raya. She absolutely would have become stone if it weren’t for the help of...Namaari?!
There the princess was, in all her alpha Fang glory. Though now she had a thick bandage tightly wrapped around the area it was stuck in. Namaari was leaning on a wooden crutch and seemed to be in a significantly less amount of pain than before, which is great!
The fact that she walking around a battlefield totally pisses Raya off though.
“What the hell are you doing up right now? There’s no way an actual medic cleared you to start hobbling around!” the Heart woman snapped.
“Of course they didn’t,” Namaari simply replied.
“What is your problem?! You are a cripple!” Raya hissed.
“Careful dep la, I might start thinking you care about my well being,” Namaari smirked.
A horrible realization came across Raya, because honestly, she is worried about Nmaaari’s well being. She’s gonna turn to stone before admitting that though. And hey, with the way things are going right now, the chance of that is pretty high.
“Shut up and stay close to me,” was all Raya managed to say.
To Namaari’s credit, she did just that. For someone that only had one leg that actually worked, she managed to be fast and was a great guide to safety. Her expansive knowledge of Fang certainly played a big part in that.
Somehow, they were able to evacuate just about everyone in the town. Tong, Boun, and Noi raced up to her as Tuk Tuk was evacuating the last of the civilians.
“Alright, that looked like everyone,” Boun confirmed when he joined the group.
“Wonderful. Now let’s-” Raya started, before the ground quite literally gave out beneath her.
Panic engulfed her before she realized that she didn’t even hit the ground that hard. Then she discovered that she was laying on top of Namaari.
“Damn, are you okay?! I didn’t hurt your leg too badly, did I?” the Heart woman asked worriedly while scrambling to her feet.
“No, I’m alright. Toi, look out!” Namaari exclaimed as she pointed behind her.
On instinct, Raya shoved the gem piece in the direction Namaari was pointing to. The horrible creature screeched and split off. The omega quickly helped her companion to her feet so that they could both participate in the efforts of keeping the Druun at bay.
“This isn’t working! There’s too many of them!” Tong exclaimed.
Dread filled at the pit of Raya’s stomach. She knew he was right. They wouldn’t be able to survive much longer like this. To top it all off, the glow of the gems was getting dimmer and dimmer.
Noi had begun whimpering and was giving her best effort to hide her face in Tong’s shoulder. Not once had she seen the baby look so terrified. It was starting to break Raya’s heart.
“What do we do? We can’t stop them anymore!” Boun yelled.
What to do is right. Honestly, Raya had no fucking clue what she was supposed to do. This feels like her fault entirely. If she hadn’t gone searching for dragons, they wouldn’t be in this mess. Sisu wouldn’t be dead, just asleep and hope for other generations wouldn’t have been destroyed.
As Raya was continuing her internal spiral of despair, a golden glint caught her eye. The dragon pendent.
She can’t say for certain why she kept the thing after all this time. It would have given her a nice chunk of jade, which she desperately needed during the past six years. And with such negative memories behind how she got the pendant, its sentimental value wasn’t all that great.
But maybe this is why she needed it. To remind her of what Sisu said.
“Everybody! Give me your gem pieces! We can still put it back together!” Raya told them.
“Sisu’s gone! We don’t have her magic anymore!” Boun oh so kindly reminded her.
“It’s not about the magic, it’s about the trust we have in each other!” Raya yelled, barely being able to hear herself over the Druun’s screeching.
“WHAT?!” Namaari screamed.
Raya’s not sure if Namaari was yelling like that because she genuinely couldn’t hear or because she thought Raya was insane. Either way, it’s a bit hard to give everyone a full play by play.
“I don’t have time to explain everything, people! All you guys need to know is that the reason why the gem worked the first time is because Sisu’s siblings trusted her with their lives! We need to trust each other like Sisu wanted us to, even if her plans were garbage!” Raya told them.
“How can you be sure this will work?” Tong asked while simultaneously evading another attack from the Druun.
“I don’t, but it’s the only chance we have! C’mon, circle of trust people, let’s do it!” Raya exclaimed.
Boun, Tong and Noi were shooting glances at each other. Then they’d look at Namaari, then at Raya, then back at each other. They’re not sure what to make of Namaari, since it’s obvious she had meant to stop this madness before being followed. Even so, they’re hesitant. Since everyone layered up on scent blockers earlier that morning, she can’t exactly smell what they’re feeling, but she doesn’t need to. It’s written all over their faces. Raya knows what she has to do.
Though Raya was shaking like a leaf, she put her gem piece in Namaari’s hand. She tried stepping back to let the Druun, uh, consume her? Is that what they do? But the Fang woman was faster, and got a vice like grip on Raya’s wrist.
“What the hell do you think you’re doing?” Namaari hissed.
“I’m taking the first step,” Raya said as if it was obvious.
“Look who’s trying to be the self sacrificing one now? You’re so hypocritical,” Namaari snapped.
“Maybe I just wanted to be more like you, Namaari,” Raya stated.
“I feel like you should know that self sacrifice isn’t a good look on you either,” Namaari declared.
“I bet I wear it better than you,” Raya smirked.
“You wish, dep la,” Namaari whispered.
Raya tried to take a step back, but the other woman’s grip around her wrist was something fierce. Okay, now Raya’s a bit annoyed. The only way for this to work is to prove that Raya trusts Namaari. How the hell is Raya supposed to prove anything if Namaari is keeping her hostage?
“Let me go, Namaari. I know what I’m doing,” Raya said softly, trying soothe her.
“I’m not sure why you’re being so risky. You have a kid, so I should be the one giving you my gem piece,” Namaari tried arguing.
Hah! If that’s the case, then Namaari shouldn’t give up her piece either. Not like Raya can make that argument, though.
“Do you trust me?” Raya asked.
Namaari nodded. The omega woman could smell the utter terror her companion had.
“Then let me do this. It will work,” Raya insisted with all the conviction she could muster.
Reluctantly, Namaari loosened her grip on Raya’s wrist. Despite the many survival instincts screaming at her not to, Raya stepped into the fray of the Druun with no protection. All she could do was imagine her family as the life left her very being.
******************************
Raya felt a droplet of water plop on her head. Then another. Before she knew it, she could move her face. Then the hands that were originally cupping water flopped to her sides. Namaari had done it.
She turned her head to see Namaari gasping for air. The Fang princess’s hand was already resting on Raya’s shoulder, a comforting warmth exuding from it. Namaari automatically turned to her left to see Raya looking right at her.
Namaari smiled in utter relief and squeezed Raya’s shoulder with her hand. Choked up by the dozens of emotions the Heart woman felt, she just mustered a smile right back and brought her left hand up to squeeze Namaari’s.
Raya and Namaari were snapped out of the little trance they were in when they heard Boun yelp and face plant on the ground. Raya resisted the urge to laugh at the fall and helped him up after he finished wiggling his legs. Tong and Noi were quite literally jumping for joy after feeling the rain hit.
“Oh toi, Tuk Tuk! He must have been so scared! C’mon, let’s get up there!” Raya yelled while pointing to the exit.
“That’s your big concern right now?” Namaari asked with a raised eyebrow.
“Hey, my father and baby are totally fine right now because Charanya’s got them. Oh toi, my father’s not stone anymore!” Raya exclaimed, barely allowing herself time to process the truth in that statement.
“That’s right, and it’s all thanks to you, dep la,” Namaari smiled.
“Well, I suppose I can’t take all the credit. You’re no slouch yourself, binturi,” Raya giggled.
******************************
“They do know we are right here, right?” Boun asked.
“Let them have this. Something tells me this is going to get very complicated very quickly,” Tong sighed. Noi nods in agreement.
“Let’s just get out of here.”
******************************
Raya almost ate shit like three times trying to climb out of that stupid cave like structure. It was hard enough trying to balance herself, but then she was also yanking on Namaari’s arm so that she can at least try to stay upright.
The group of five plus three ongis finally broke though to the surface. Raya began eagerly looking around for Tuk Tuk the second she was on solid ground. Only a couple second later was Raya blessed with Tuk Tuk’s adorable face barreling right to her.
“Oh, my baby! I love you so much, bud,” the Heart woman cooed as she began affectionately scratching his perfect little head.
“No way! Look up!” Boun yelled.
Confused, Raya did just that. Honestly, she’s never seen anything more magnificent in her entire life.
There in the sky was dragons. Hundreds of them, all varying shades of all different colors zipping through the sky. Raya laughed from pure awe at seeing these legendary creatures in the flesh.
“I can’t even believe this,” Raya whispered.
“Me neither. The dragon nerd in me is kind of freaking out right now,” Namaari mumbled in awe.
Raya could smell the fascination all over Namaari. Her scent had become much sweeter with a surprisingly strong hint of citrus. (Now’s really not a good time to remember the fact that Raya loves anything with citrus.) There’s nothing that can truly describe how she feels in this very moment.
“I just wish Sisu could be here to see this. It wouldn’t be possible without her,” Raya sighed mournfully.
As if the dragons all somehow heard her, they began rapidly flying in the air. It almost looked as though they were preforming some kind of choreographed dance in the sky. A blob of water appeared in the middle of the action and it morphed into none other than Sisudatu.
“AYE SISU! GET OVER HERE!” Raya yelled happily.
At the speed of light, the water dragon nose dived straight to where the little group was huddled up.
“I gotta say, saving the world has left me positively starved,” Sisu grinned.
“I’ve got some spare jackfruit jerky if you’d like,” the omega giggled.
“Raya, I love you so much, but I will never be that hungry,” Sisu bluntly stated.
The Heart woman merely laughed and lunged at Sisu to get a hug. Sisu swiftly returned it and squeezed her tightly.
“Awww, get in here everybody! And yes, I’m talking to you too Namaari!” Sisu declared as she scooped up the five humans in a tight hug.
“Ah, it is good to breathe in your glorious dragon stench once more,” Tong exclaimed.
“I choose to take that as a compliment!” Sisu said as she squeezed everyone tighter.
“Okay, now it’s getting hard to breathe,” Raya wheezed out before everyone was released.
“There’s a fifty percent chance that the Shrimporium was demolished, but if it wasn’t, you guys want to hitch a ride?” Boun asked once the joyous reunion was over.
“I’d love a ride, Captain Boun. Provided that there is a boat to ride,” Raya nodded.
“I too wish to venture back home on the boat that brought us here! If it’s an option,” Tong agreed.
Noi babbled something and she was smiling, so Raya assumed that meant she was cool with tagging along.
“What about you, Princess Namaari? You gonna ride along with us?” the young boy asked.
“If you’ll have me, then of course. I do need to discuss things with my mother before going anywhere, though,” Namaari told the group.
“Good luck with that,” Raya smirked.
“Yeah, I’ll need it. Raya, before we leave, I was hoping I’d be able to talk to you,” Namaari whispered to avoid the others listening in.
That may be a problem. Raya’s not entirely sure what they’re going to talk about, but she can almost guarantee that the Heart woman is going to hate whatever topic they come across.
But hell, the dragons were back. Sisu is alive and her father is no longer stone. Charanya’s family is also no longer stone and she can’t run the risk of being stone either. Aulia never has to see the Druun for as long as she lives. Raya can deal with an uncomfortable conversation.
“Sure, let’s talk down at the docks. We need to see if Boun’s poor boat is salvageable anyways,” the Heart princess nodded.
Once Raya let everyone know of their plas, she marched on to their destination with Tuk Tuk in tow. Namaari had no complaints and followed after her. The Fang alpha was clearly having a difficult time keeping with Raya’s anxious speed walking pace, so she had to force herself to slow down.
In what felt like absolutely no time and all the time in the world, they arrived at the docks. The good news is the fact that the Shrimporium is intact. Got to look on the bright side, after all.
“Why don’t we sit on the pier? I wouldn’t want to strain a cripple,” Raya smirked.
“Toi, consider this the last time I save your life. Your mockery is the only thanks I get,” Namaari scowled with no real bite in her voice.
The Fang woman eased herself on a bench and Raya sat right beside her. Raya almost instantly regretted that decision as the smell of soil and citrus surrounded her, making it hard for Raya to focus. Namaari really needs to get a move on with this chat.
“So, what’s up?” Raya questioned. Namaari took in a long, shaky breath before speaking.
“I just wanted to apologize. For everything, really. I never should have betrayed you back when we were kids. Even then, I knew it was wrong and I shouldn’t have done it. And I realize that what happened on the hill wasn’t entirely on me, but I still should have done something to stop it. I am so sorry, and I don’t expect you to forgive me. I wanted to let you know I’m sincerely remorseful for everything I’ve done and I have every intention of making it up to you, however I can. If you let me, of course,” Namaari finished off very bashfully.
“I forgive you,” Raya simply said. And she meant it.
“Wait what?” Namaari asked, clearly dumfounded.
“I said I forgive you. I forgave you the moment you decided to do the right thing to save everyone. Granted, everything isn’t perfect. It’s going to take some time before we can really trust each other again but I’d like to try if you would,” Raya explained with a rapidly beating heart.
“I’d like that,” Namaari said with an ear splitting grin.
That smile alone could have brought Raya back from stone over how magical it is. Who knew the Fang princess had such a wonderful smile?
“I’m glad,” was the best Raya could come up with.
“Good. Also, about the time where we, uh, spent your heat together-” Namaari began as her face turned bright red.
Ah, see, now it feels like someone dumped a bucket of cold water over her. Raya’s not ready for this. Her mind has been very positive, and she really can not handle hearing how Namaari thought the whole thing was this huge mistake that should have never happened. It didn’t mean anything, so Raya shouldn’t be as scared of this topic as she was. May as well end the conversation before it even starts.
“Yeah, don’t even worry about that!” Raya nearly screamed, effectively cutting Namaari off. “I get it, instincts were crazy, life happens, no worries!”
“No.....worries?” Namaari asked, clearly very puzzled.
“Yeah, no worries! I mean, it’s not like you forced me into doing anything I didn’t feel comfortable with! No harm, no foul,” Raya said while waving her off.
“Right,” Namaari mumbled.
Yikes. Not the reaction Raya was hoping for. Honestly, she’s not even sure what reaction she wanted from Namaari. But now the Fang alpha just sounds weirdly dejected. Then a horrible thought overtook Raya’s mind.
“Shit, I didn’t force you into anything, did I? The memories are kind of hazy,” the Heart woman frantically asked.
To Raya’s relief and annoyance, the other woman laughed.
“Please! You’ve seen your muscles compared to mine, right? There’s no way you were forcing me into anything I wasn’t okay with,” Namaari snorted.
“I’ll have you know, binturi, that I’m crazy strong,” Raya grinned while nudging her.
“Oh yeah? Prove it,” Namaari said in a provoking manner.
Just when Raya was totally going to prove it, the rest of their companions caught up to them.
“CANNONBALL!” the water dragon yelled as she proceeded to throw herself into the large body of water.
On instinct, Raya jumped up from her seat and hid behind Namaari. Boun and Noi had the same idea with Tong. In a couple seconds both alphas were drenched with water as the other three remained fairly dry.
“Did you actually just use me, the cripple that saved your life, as a human shield from water?” Namaari spat at the Heart princess.
“Maybe,” Raya admitted guiltily.
“When I’m fully healed, you’re going to have to watch your back,” Namaari glared.
“Fair enough,” Raya shrugged.
“How cruel it is to learn that my own companions have betrayed me so,” Tong scowled while looking down at Boun and Noi.
“Sorry,” Boun laughed awkwardly.
Noi, on the other hand, didn’t even look a little sorry.
“Okay, why don’t we talk about things that make us smile, mainly because I’m scared Namaari is going to try stabbing my eye out with her crutch. I know I’m super excited to my family again! Especially my daughter. She’s super cute, and young, Namaari please stop trying to kill me with your eyes,” Raya whispered in fear.
“By the dragons, I nearly forgot due to all the commotion! Tell me, how old is your precious child?” Tong asked happily.
Out of the corner of Raya’s eye, she could see the Fang princess stiffen. Shit. Namaari may be a major binturi, but she’s not an idiot. Basic math would totally give away Aulia’s parentage.
That is, if Raya was honest about her child’s age.
“She’s about a year old now,” Raya lied.
Though she still refuses to look directly at Namaari, Raya can see the other woman’s body visibly relax. Raya tried to ignore the hurt she felt over the obvious relief Namaari experienced when thinking Aulia isn’t hers. Of course the Fang woman doesn’t want a kid, she’s eighteen for heaven’s sake.
This is so coming back to bite Raya. She knows it. But that day did not have to be today.
“Ah, what a wonderful age!” Tong beamed, oblivious to Raya’s inner turmoil.
“Aww, she sounds so cute! Hey, who’s her other parent? I don’t think you ever told us,” Boun asked out of pure childlike curiosity.
Wow, so apparently everyone just loves talking about the subjects Raya is desperately trying to avoid. It honestly feels a little bit targeted. She officially regrets bringing up her child.
The Heart woman began laughing rather nervously when she noticed that Namaari had, once again, seemed very intent on hearing Raya’s answer to these questions about Aulia.
“Haha! Boy oh boy, that is definitely a question! Thanks for that! I’m just so thrilled that the youth today have such inquiring minds! On that note, I’m just going to go make sure Sisu’s not drowning!” Raya exclaimed, avoiding the question like an absolute pro.
And on that note, Raya dived right into the water, despite the confusion from her dearest friends.
Looks like hiding behind Namaari to stay dry was a futile attempt. The cold water was honestly a relief against Raya’s warm skin. It felt like she was on fire up there.
Sisu then noticed Raya swimming around and waved excitedly at her. Raya smiled and waved right back at her. It’s a nice time to be swimming.
The Heart woman then remembered the fact that she is not a water dragon and can not hold her breath for that long. Her lungs began to burn and she had no choice but to resurface.
Raya popped her head out of the water and was greeted with four utterly confused faces. Eight if you count Tuk Tuk and the ongis.
She might as well give them an update on the water dragon’s condition.
“Don’t worry! Sisu’s all good!” Raya smiled.
Silence.
“BINTURI WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU-”

My next Raya x Namaari piece! Themes of illness, comfort, concern, etc. Fluff. G-rated. Enjoy!
______________________________
A fever was tearing through Kumandra.
Much like the sleeping sickness plague that had claimed the lives of Raya's mother and Namaari's father, this fever was fast moving and lethal. Nobody knew where it came from. The young Spine boy suspected to have contracted the first case had died before he could relate his story, and his family could not find anything unusual in his routine. The virus was confusing and erratic in who it infected; whole families might fall sick, or only one or two people in a house. So far, deaths had been limited to the young and old, unlike the sleeping plague that had claimed people of all ages. Sap from the waterweed blossom helped lower the fever and reduce pain, but repeated doses caused severe hallucinations. It was a price doctors deemed necessary. Hallucinations were temporary. But if the fever remained too high for too long, the victim would die.
The symptoms started mild, so nobody suspected a thing in the beginning. Trade had continued, diplomatic visits were held, and warriors mingled on their scouting missions. Soon, the fever had spread to all the tribes. Raya and Namaari had met a Spine perimeter patrol on their own joint patrol. The two groups had swapped stories and shared an evening meal together. One Spine warrior had been complaining of a headache, and everyone had teased him for enjoying too much drink.
The girls had returned to Fang shortly after. Raya was supposed to spend the night as a guest before departing for Heart the following day. But word of the fever had reached Fang while the girls were out. Chief Virana had insisted Raya stay in Fang until it could be seen whether the two had contracted the illness. She wouldn't risk sending Raya to Heart if she was infected. Having lost her husband to a plague, Virana took illness very seriously. Raya knew her father would understand for the same reason.
Namaari had fallen ill first. When she heard, Raya was anxious to visit her, but Chief Virana had not allowed it. Even she wasn't allowed in her daughter's room; just standing in the doorway was pushing the doctors' patience. The doctors were frightened of the violent illness and would not allow their Chief to risk contracting it too.
Raya had been desperate to see Namaari, her fevered cries of fear and pain sending knives through her heart. So she had snuck back late that night, after the palace had gone to bed. After all, she was the Princess of Heart. She didn't answer to Virana. The two had become fond of each other and had a good rapport, but in this matter, Raya was willing to risk defying her. Besides, they had spent the whole scouting trip together; if Namaari had it, so did she.
She'd found her friend lying in bed, sweating and shaking from fever. Raya had almost received a bloody nose crawling up to join her. Namaari had been startled, likely in the midst of a waterweed hallucination, and had struck her. Luckily, it was a glancing blow, weakened by illness, and Raya's nose remained in one piece. Raya had quickly grabbed Namaari's hands to prevent another near miss, talking soothingly to her friend to calm her down. She'd settled down next to her, frightened by how hot her touch was. Her presence had calmed Namaari. Raya stayed there all night, drifting in and out of sleep with Namaari, waking when she did to whisper calming words as she fought invisible demons.
Virana had been furious when she found the two the next morning. Standing in the doorway, she'd scolded and fought Raya in the quietest argument Raya had ever had. But there was nothing she could do now that it had happened. A few days passed, and Namaari slept longer and required fewer doses of waterweed sap. Raya began staying in her own room again, anxious to make up with Virana. Then, just as Namaari was well enough to leave her room, Raya had woken up with a headache and sweats.
Now it was her turn.
___________________
Someone had lit Raya on fire. At least, that's what it felt like. She threw off the blanket once more, knowing that she'd inevitably pull it up again in a few minutes. She cried out in frustration, trying to figure out if she was too hot or too cold. She was shaking uncontrollably. Her whole body ached, every joint throbbing and pulsing with pain. Her dreams were disjointed and confusing. A strange sensation surrounded her spine and hips, one she could only describe as 'fuzzy.' And there were the shadows.
She didn't know how else to describe them. The creatures were pitch black and seemed to have no substance, but they had glowing red eyes, fangs that rivaled a serlot's, and twisted, oozing spines that protruded haphazardly from their bodies. They terrified Raya beyond anything she'd ever seen.
The creatures had stayed away earlier, lurking at the edges of her vision and hiding in the corners of her room. But then, Raya had been given another dose of waterweed, and the creatures had grown bold. They now circled her bed, occasionally snapping at her arms and legs and sending spikes of pain through her body. She couldn't understand how the doctors moved so freely among them. How could they not see them? Or were they the demons? Raya couldn't tell.
Suddenly, one larger demon crawled onto the bed next to her. Terrified, she swatted clumsily at it, but it quickly caught her wrist in its claws. Wait no, not claws. Hands, soft and warm. "Nice try, Raya, but right now, you couldn't hit a toot and boom if it was perched on your nose," she heard a familiar voice say. Namaari. Raya had no idea what she was doing here, but she was relieved to hear her voice.
"I thought you were one of them," Raya whimpered as her friend lay down behind her. "One of what, dep la?" Namaari asked as she gently slid her arm under Raya's head and wrapped the other around her side, pulling her close. "The shadows. They have sharp teeth and glowing eyes, and spines all over," Raya replied. "They're everywhere, how do you not see them?"
"Maybe I'm just not looking hard enough," Namaari conceded. "Or maybe you're looking too hard. You should close your eyes, then you wouldn't see them. I won't them get you," she promised, tucking Raya's sweat-dampened hair back out of her face.
Raya flinched and uttered a small cry as another shadow bit at her arm. She heard Namaari's soft voice in her ear. "Easy, dep la. Close your eyes. Deep breaths. Focus on what's real. Feel me."
Raya obeyed. She closed her eyes to the spiny creatures lurking along her bedside and focused on Namaari's presence. She breathed deeply of her friend's lavender perfume. She felt Namaari's solid warmth against her back, one arm under her head, the other wrapped tightly around her waist. She heard her breath whisper in her ear and felt it ruffle her hair.
Raya calmed. Soothed by Namaari's presence, her breathing slowed and her mind cleared. Namaari's warmth on her back comfortably balanced the cool air on her front. She drifted off, finally relaxed enough to succumb to sleep. Time passed, though Raya couldn't tell how much. She felt Namaari's presence leave a few times, and each time the terrible images came back. She would call desperately for her friend, and Namaari always returned quickly, snuggling back up behind her and holding her close. She stayed with her as Raya slept for longer periods of time, and the shadow demons faded. Then, suddenly, it was over.
Raya woke with a start. It was nighttime, and candles flickered gently on the walls. She sat up. Her head felt amazingly clear, and her body, though tired, was calm and cool. Raya felt Namaari stir next to her, and she turned to look at her. "Welcome back," Namaari said quietly. "That was awful," Raya whispered. Namaari shifted and reached out to rub Raya's back. "I know. I couldn't let you go through it alone, not knowing what it was like." Namaari said.
"I'm so sorry you had to fight that by yourself in the beginning," Raya told her. "I should have come to you sooner, but your mother wouldn't let me."
"Don't think too harshly of her, dep la. She was only trying to keep you safe," Namaari replied. "She's grown very fond of you."
Raya sighed. "I know. She was furious when I disobeyed her, though."
"Of course she was, she was frightened for both of us." Namaari said. "I'm sure she'll understand. We'll talk to her tomorrow. She'll be relieved to see you up, she's been very worried. As have I," she added quietly at the end.
Raya took Namaari's hand from her back and kissed it. "I was so scared for you when you were sick. I've never felt anyone's fever so high," she said softly. "I thought we were going to lose you. That I was going to lose you." Raya settled back down next to Namaari, and Namaari pulled the blanket over them both.
"Let's not dwell on it. It's over now, and we both need some sleep." Namaari said. She turned onto her side, resting her head on Raya's shoulder, and hugged her close. Lying on her back, Raya twined her legs through Namaari's. She rested one hand on Namaari's side and laid her other hand over Namaari's on her stomach. "Sleep well, dep la," she whispered. "We've earned it."

(Needed some goofy fluff to distract myself from the angst im writing so buckle up, its long. Based on that one post I cannot find so if anyone can help a homie out, much appreciated)
Raya/Namaari Accidental Marriage Proposal
Its not a far stretch to assume that the different tribes have different practices and rituals. And given the 500 year gap in communication its also easy enough to assume that the tribes don't know about each others differing customs.
For example: marriage proposals. In Tail its as cut-and-dry as asking. Talon people propose with rings and jade coin. When you propose in Spine you chop down a tree to show your commitment and strength.
The Fang propose with blades. Fang people love their knives, daggers, spears, and other pointy weapons, so if you want to ask someone to marry you, you do it with a blade.
I like to imagine it'd be because offering a blade to someone- who isn't family -is the equivalent of trusting your life to that person. I like to think the Fang value not only a person's strength and honour, but their ability to care and protect their people. So giving a blade to your chosen love is like saying, "I'm giving you this weapon because I trust you with my heart, literally and metaphorically".
But again, 500 year old divide means others have no clue what giving a knife to someone from Fang entails...
So maybe its been a few months or so after the Druun have been vanquished. Raya is still re-learning how to be a 'princess' while playing liaison between the tribes, with Sisu as her partner in crime. She likes it because she still gets to travel and she gets to see her new friends from the other tribes: Boun's business is booming, Noi has started talking, and Tong has become the new Chief of Spine.
Then there's Namaari.
Six years of playing cat-and-mouse together (or rather angry kitten and homeless puppy) can be hard to overcome. At first it was a struggle. And incredibly awkward. Namaari, too guilt ridden over what she'd done, and Raya, still angry and socially stunted, could barely hold a conversation together.
Eventually Raya, fed up with the weird awkward talk, dragged Namaari to Fang's training grounds and challenged her to a sparring match. And only when it was over, the both of them exhausted and laying on the ground, did they start talking, actually talking. About what happened with the gem, with Sisu, what they can't let go of, not yet, but what they hope they can move past one day.
It made things after easier because it was familiar ground for them, but it also opened up new paths too. Now in the months since they saved the world and having spent that time working together, Raya would like to consider Namaari a close friend.
Which is probably why she's so surprised when Namaari off-handedly mentions her birthday is next week. Namaari, who's less than thrilled about her mother's plans for a big celebration, doesn't even notice how much Raya's caught off guard. Namaari doesn't really care for her birthday, much less when her mother makes a big deal about it, but she still brushes her hair behind her ear when she asks Raya if she's going to attend.
Raya recovers, nudging Namaari saying that she's obviously going, and boasting about the amazing gift she's going to bring.
Which then leads to her dragging Sisu to Talon in search of the perfect gift (Sisu being the only 'person' she knows who can help being that she's a master gift giver... Sisu's words, not Raya's, but still). They run around Talon for ages, with Sisu practically buying everything in sight (with the Heart Palace Credit of course) but Raya can't find a single thing she thinks Namaari would actually like.
And then she spots a Fang vendor selling blades.
The woman is nice and she asks Raya if she's looking for something in particular. Raya says she wants to get a dagger for 'someone special' from Fang (not wanting to rack up the price if the woman knew who it was for, but also completely unaware to what she's just implied).
The vendor seems a little surprised but she easily walks Raya through picking out the perfect dagger for her 'someone special'. Raya ends up buying a pretty, yet functional dagger with a dragon engraved in the blade and an ornate box to keep it in. As Raya's leaving the woman gives her a pat on the shoulder and says, "All the best for the both of you and I'm sure she'll say yes," which Raya can't really make sense of so she shrugs and leaves to go find Sisu and her mountain of trinkets.
So now its the party, and when Namaari said Virana was making a big deal about it, she really meant it. People from all the tribes are attending and Sisu's brought her brothers and sisters and there's music and food and fireworks...
And Namaari stands beside her mother in a beautiful dress that makes Raya's heart thud erratically (it's totally platonic). Her and her Ba walk up to them and start making small talk before her Ba and Virana break off to chat with other dignitaries, leaving Raya and Namaari together.
Raya likes how Namaari relaxes around her when its just them, despite the room full of people. They talk and banter and tease and laugh, but more than anything Raya just likes being with Namaari. And when Namaari mentions how much she hates formal wear, how dresses don't suit her, Raya makes it a game to see how many times she can mention how beautiful Namaari looks while they're talking, just because it makes Namaari flush and do the hair thing she does when she's shy. No other heart-related reason.
Its not until much later when Raya suddenly remembers the gift she brought and she runs off to fetch it. When she returns she hands Namaari the sleek box with a smile and a sheepish "Happy Birthday dep'la".
And Namaari's blushing and smiling as she takes the box, telling Raya she didn't have to as she opens the box-
And immediately slams it shut. Her face turns bright red and she whorls on Raya with wide eyes and a panicked, hissed "whatareyoudoing?!" And poor Raya's totally thrown, so sure she'd picked out the perfect gift. "You don't like it?" But Namaari shoves the box back into her hands, with another frenzied whisper "thatsnotit!"
Well now Raya's a little miffed because "You didn't even look at it" and before Namaari can stop her she's pulling the dagger from the box and offering it back to Namaari.
Meanwhile the room goes incredibly quiet as everyone from Fang suddenly notices what's happening between the princesses. Virana nearly spits out her drink. Everyone else carries on like normal, but a few people watch their new Fang friends with curious looks, completely out of the loop.
So now Raya's essentially down on one knee without realizing it, Namaari's about to have a heart attack, everyone from Fang is on the edge of their seat, and the dragons are having a rousing drinking contest with people from Spine.
So the party is going great.
Raya (oblivious to the world save for Namaari) is giving Namaari her strongest puppy dog eyes because she'd spent so long looking for the perfect gift dep'la, and "You're pretty special Namaari, special to me, and you deserve it."
Namaari, as red faced as she is, softens at Raya's admission, smiling a little to herself before she takes the dagger from Raya with a soft "it's lovely dep'la".
And suddenly the room's loud again as people from Fang start clapping and whistling. Everyone else is lost but soon they join in as well, despite having no clue as to what they're cheering for. Namaari's back to being flustered and she grabs Raya's hand and hauls her toward Virana and Benja. Raya, finally taking in the room around them, is confused as to why people are congratulating her and Namaari.
Virana has recovered by the time the two approach and if no one knew better it might've also appeared she was trying hard not to smile. Namaari hisses something to her mother Raya doesn't hear, and she shoots her Ba a questioning look. Benja looks a little pensive but he's got a quirk in his lips that Raya knows means mischief.
Virana gently pats her daughter's shoulder before turning to address the room, excusing the four of them. They turn to leave but not before Virana calls out to the crowd, "And it goes without saying you're all invited to the wedding as well," and then ushers her horrified daughter, her baffled betrothed, and Benja out the door.
Instantly Namaari's in hysterics, asking her mother why she'd say that when Raya obviously didn't know what she was doing. Virana, quite obviously playing ignorance, asks why Namaari accepted the blade if she knew what she was doing. And poor Namaari can only gape, red faced and no come back.
Raya has finally caught on to what she's done and yeah, okay now it all makes sense. The vendor, Namaari's (gay) panic, the congratulations... she just proposed to Namaari. She just proposed to Namaari. In front of most of Kumandra. Oh toi!
Benja, still smirking to himself, ruffles Raya's hair before turning to Namaari and Virana and saying, "To be fair... Namaari did propose first."
Marriage proposals in Heart are an exchange of necklaces. So when Namaari had given Raya the Sisu pendant back when they were kids, they'd essentially gotten engaged and since Raya kept it, they've technically been engaged for the past six years.
(Too) Long story short, Raya and Namaari get engaged, get married, fall in love, and live sapphically ever after.
End.
(Okay, I'm done. Back to angst.)

The Little Things You Keep Hidden From Me
~~~(this is a long one so bear with me! using she/they pronouns for namaari btw!)~~~
namaari likes things—she really really does! she just, well, never really knows where to put their stuff, just shoving it into a basket to get it out of sight...they had never really thought of it as a problem, just something that was obvious since she was so busy with all of her royal duties, but the longer she’s around raya the more they realize something might be up.
when raya and her start dating, they naturally begin to spend more time at each other’s homes, more specifically in each other’s rooms. the third time raya spends the night in fang since they’ve become official, she finally asks namaari just why her room is so incredibly bare, claiming it looks more like a spare room in a random inn rather than a living space. namaari is actually stumped by this question, answering that “she’s just too busy to put any posters up or little figurines out.” raya doesnt believe it though, she can tell there’s something else by the quirk in namaari’s brow that the fang princess does often without even realizing. nevertheless, raya let’s it go and cuddles deeper into her girlfriends neck, taking a mental note to bring it up when they’re both more awake.
the next time raya brings it up, however, is when the girls are sparring together to blow off some steam. namaari had already been slightly agitated from an argument with her mother so it probably wasn’t the best for raya to bring up right then. despite that, the princess of heart had tried to play it off in a joking manner, snickering a bit as she told the other princess that they should travel to talon sometime to pick up decorations so namaari can stop having such a “bare ass room”. the kick to the gut raya received immediately notified her that it was definitely a bad time, especially as she moaned on the ground in pain as namaari stormed off. despite it only taking them two days to reconcile after that, raya promised she wouldn’t bring it up again, even though namaari still hadn’t told her why the question bothered them so bad.
even though raya had said she wouldn’t bring up the issue again, she began to rethink after a short talk with sisu about the matter. the dragon had brought up a very good point: “why not just add things here and there and see how namaari reacts? that way nothing is permanent and namaari wouldn’t have to try and put her feelings into words, just remove what they didn’t want.”raya didn’t have the best feeling about this but she sensed that this issue was more than it seemed and that it needed to be explored so she took sisu up on her offer and put the plan into effect on her following trips to fang. she’d place a poster by namaari’s bed or a small dragon carved of trees from spine on the desk one day and place a plant or a book by the door the next. the first two items disappeared within the hour of them being up and the second two held out for a day. raya tried this again two more times and the same pattern followed. she was now missing a poster, the wood carving, the book, a throw pillow, a small teddy bear, and a plant—this only concerned her more as namaari hadn’t brought any of it up. just as raya was starting to give up on this experiment, a breakthrough moment happened.
it had been a exhaustingly long day of meetings and diplomatic hearings and all the two princesses wanted to do was sleep. they hung out on namaari’s bed, cuddling as they chatted with sisu who was perched on the windowsill before namaari decided she was going to shower. sisu said goodbye and raya started gathering her own belongings from her bag for bed. normally she’d join her girlfriend in the shower but they were both feeling much too sluggish for that kind of shower at the moment.
as raya was taking off her jewelry, one of her arm bands rolled off the edge of the bed and under the closet door on the other side of the room. she sighed in exasperation but got up to retrieve it nonetheless. when she opened the closet door and reached in to grab her jewelry, she was surprised to see a large basket placed in the middle of the chamber among her girlfriend’s clothes. she knew she should probably ask namaari if it was ok to open it but something in her gut was screaming at her to peak inside, so she looked behind her to make sure no one had entered the room without her knowing and moved to open the basket, face contorting in confusion when she saw what was in it.
in front of her sat all of the objects that she had placed in the room, all situated in such a way so that nothing was broken or squashed. raya also noticed some other objects like books and pages of artwork hidden under the materials she had lost. it took her only a moment to sigh sadly and put the lid back onto the basket. she made her way back to the bed and sat on it, head in her hands as she waited for namaari to return.
“i can’t believe how much dirt can stick to you when you sweat, it’s absolutely disgust-“ namaari said as she walked back into the room, now in her night clothes.
“raya? what’s wrong, why do you look so sad?” The fang princess said, closing the door behind them with a worried expression.
raya was silent for a moment before exhaling and standing up from the bed, walking over to her girlfriend and taking both of their hands in her own.
“when i was getting my stuff together for my shower, one of my arm bands fell off the bed and rolled under the closet door. i saw the basket, maari.” raya said, looking down at their conjoined hands.
“you didn’t open it, did you?” namaari said, voice clearly wavering as her eyebrows creased together.
“you know i had to. it didn’t feel right...” raya replied sadly.
“well it doesn’t mean anything, it’s just a stupid basket.” namaari huffed, pulling her hands away from raya and walking away from her and towards the window, back to their girlfriend.
“that’s not true namaari. you and i both know what that basket is for.” raya could tell namaari was getting upset, their shoulders were tensing and her fists were squeezed into balls.
“i said it was nothing. drop it raya.” namaari warned, chest heaving as she started to get worked up.
“i will not drop it! why didn’t you tell me that you don’t keep any of your personal items out because you’re afraid you’ll have to flee fang one day and don’t want to risk leaving them behind?!” raya shouted, temper fully exploding.
to anyone else, that may seem like a ridiculous stretch, but raya knew better. she knew this is what namaari had done because she had done the same thing all her years of searching for sisu. since she had no time to gather her belongings the day the dragon gem broke, the only mementos from home she had left were the clothes and accessories on her body, tuktuk, and her father’s sword. for years as she traveled she never once took them out of her bag, in fear that she’d be ambushed and would have to outrun bandits or druun. she longed to be able to take out her clothes she was wearing that day and hold them close to her chest, focusing on how beautiful that morning had been with her father still in her life, but she was more terrified of losing them in the event she had to run for her life.
the basket was large but also made out of a very light material that was abundant in fang. the handles were designed to not pinch or strain the hands and the bottom was weaved in such a way that running with it would not be too much of a hinderance. raya immediately knew that this basket was bought for a specific purpose and the person who bought it hadn’t even realized how heartbreaking the situation was.
“so what?! i just want to be prepared, get off my case about it!” namaari shouted back, turning to face raya with a deep scowl on her face.
“namaari, being prepared is packing a bag with the essentials for survival! maybe even some extra clothes that mean a lot to you, this is not prepared! this is paranoid!” raya shouted, gesturing around the bare room with flailing arms.
“i am not fucking paranoid! who knows what could happen tomorrow?! who knows who i could lose at any moment in my life! just because i want to keep my things at the ready does not mean i am paranoid, it means i’m smart, don’t be jealous because you were too dumb to think of it!” namaari all but roared at their girlfriend.
they both froze for a moment, just looking at each other in a huff as they took in namaari’s words.
“i’m smart enough to know when someone is going through something and i’m smart enough to know that i need to step in to help. but yeah, guess i’m the fucking idiot for trying to check on you, my own girlfriend. my bad, though, i’ll try to be less dumb next time, yeah?” raya said, face stone cold as she grabbed her coat and left the room, leaving namaari with tears streaming down her face behind her.
~~~
namaari absolutely hates crying. not because they feel like they don’t have the right to do it, but because once she starts, she can rarely ever stop. she bottles up so much and when that bottle explodes every negative emotion she’s had just comes gushing out. they cried and cried, head feeling like it was going to split as she sobbed into her hands. they hadn’t meant to hurt raya’s feelings, they were just so incredibly ashamed their fears had gotten to them so badly. it took her an hour for the tears to stop falling from her eyes and one hour after that to fully compose herself enough to stand up from where she had sunk to the ground. they walked over on shaky legs to their closet and opened it, pulling out the basket and dumping the contents out onto the bed. she looked over the objects, finally understanding it had been raya who had placed them all in her room out of care and not her mother to spite her, the thought only making her want to cry again. she shoved it down and kept looking, eyes finally landing on the bear plushy that had rolled farther down her bed. she picked it up and sighed, holding it close to her chest as she bit back more tears.
“i hate it when you two fight.” sisu said solemly from the windowsill, voice soft but still startling namaari on accident.
“you and me both.” namaari responded, voice weak from their sobbing.
“she’s ready for you, you know.” the dragon said, making her way into the room to stand beside the fang princess.
“i know. it just, continues to shock me just how much she trusts i’ll always come back to her. i don’t think anyone but my mother has fought for me that hard.” namaari said, toying with the plush in her hands.
“i don’t think she’s ever wanted to fight for anyone as much as she fights for you, other than her father.” sisu replied, placing a hand on the human’s shoulder.
“i really messed up, sisu. i feel awful.” namaari said, leaning into the touch.
“nows your chance to make it right then, come on, she’s waiting.” sisu said, waiting for the princess’ consent before grabbing her by the waist and flying them out the window.
~~~
raya absolutely hated being angry. the feeling burned like thousands of fire ants under her skin that were crawling through her nerves and stinging at her body to get out. she just wanted to help namaari! that’s all. she had been exactly where the fang princesses had and it was eating her alive that she felt like namaari wasn’t trusting her.
after leaving namaari’s room she had managed to make it to the water front uninterrupted in an angry haze before sisu stopped her.
“woah, woah, woah, hold it right there, grumpy!” sisu said, stopping right in front of the heart princess.
“what’s with the frown?! did namaari kick you out again because you snore?” sisu said, completely oblivious to the fact raya was deeply upset by this.
“no sisu and i don’t want to fucking talk about it right now, move.” raya said harshly, pushing passed the dragon and continuing her stomping.
sisu was back in front of her in seconds, face now contorted in a scowl as she towered over the princess from heart. they had talked about how much sisu hated when people cursed at her, even if it was all light hearted, and it seemed like raya had forgotten and needed to be reminded.
“don’t talk to me like that. it’s disrespectful, princess.” the dragon all but spat at the human.
rayas eyes went wide, weak inhale filling her lungs as she understood what the dragon was saying. after a moment of them staring at each other, raya sighed, hands pressing onto her eyes as she started to tear up.
“you’re right. i’m sorry. i just—god i’m just so angry!” raya said, tears falling freely from her eyes at this point as she sunk to the ground. they were at the water front now, sitting on the edge of where the boats would dock.
“what happened?” sisu asked, gently wrapping her arms around her friend.
“namaari and i got into a fight about all of the missing stuff. i don’t know why i hadn’t put two and two together but she was hiding it in a basket in her closet because they were afraid they’d have to run from fang.” raya said, leaning into the dragon’s touch.
“why would they still be afraid? the druun are gone now.” sisu asked, face pulled into a worried expression.
“i would’ve asked them but they got defensive when i told them about the basket and you know when she gets defensive she starts acting like a jerk.” raya said, wiping her tears as they fell.
“sounds like someone else i know...”sisu said, smile clearly present in her voice.
raya laughed softly, sisu’s comment cheering her up slightly. she sighed and pulled away from the dragon, pushing her hair out of her face.
“i don’t want her to be afraid that they’ll come back. we’ve only talked about them a little bit i know she also has nightmares about it and it keeps her awake when i’m not with her. i just didn’t expect them to be so fearful that they refuse to keep anything permanent up in their room because they don’t think they’ll be able to take their belongings with them in case they have to flee.” raya said, now looking down at her hands.
“i know you just want to help but getting over stuff like that isn’t always easy, especially when you think you’re moving forward and it seems like ten things push you back. i know i’m not the best at relationship advice but maybe try letting her talk at you rather than with you.” sisu said.
“like how?” raya asked.
“let her get everything out: the nightmares, the objects and what they mean to them, all that stuff. no arguing and little to no commentary. just free talk. through that you might understand the underlying cause of all of this paranoia. which i’m also guessing you made her feel bad for so you should apologize for that asap.” sisu replied.
“you’re right, i know you are, it’s just—hard. i’ve never felt like this before, so in love with someone who has their own stuff to work through too, and i don’t want to mess it up because she deserves happiness.” raya said, looking up from her hands and at the dragon by her side, who she was surprised to see was wearing an expression of absolute surprise at what she had said.
“what? why are you so surprised? was it something i said?” Raya began—in that very moment realizing it was something she said. she covered her mouth with both hands and matched sisu’s wide eyes.
“raya, you said the L word.” sisu whispered.
“oh my god i said the L word.” raya echoed.
“sisu—i...” raya tried to speak but the words were caught in her throat. she had really said it out loud that she was in love with namaari, like fully and deeply in love with her and it was so overwhelming she began to cry again.
“i’m so proud of you, girl! admitting your in love is a big step. i’m so happy for you.” sisu said, pulling raya into a hug that was beating the edge of way too tight for a human and not tight enough for raya.
“thank you, sisu, you’re an incredible friend.” raya smiled.
“yeah, i know. i rock!” sisu chuckled, pulling away and getting up from where she had been sitting.
“now, i’m going to go get that other grumpy princess and you two are going to talk some things out, ok?” sisu said.
“ok, tell her i’m ready for her.” raya said, smiling as sisu sprang into the sky and glided to the palace.
~~~
even though it would seem like namaari would be afraid of heights, it was actually quite the opposite. they loved being in high places and looking out at the world around them. soaring through the air with a dragon, let alone the sisudatu, was not something she ever thought she’d do in her life—now? they wouldn’t have it any other way.
“this is your stop, your majesty. oh! and be on your best behavior or i’ll drop you in the ocean when i come back.” Sisu said, placing namaari on the ground next to raya.
“and that goes for both of you! best. behavior.” sisu added before flying off and leaving them alone.
both princesses sat in silence for a moment, both not entirely sure where to start.
“look, maari, i’m—“ raya began.
“No!” namaari countered, effectively cutting Raya off.
“you always take the first step. i don’t want you to think that i won’t meet you there. if it’s ok, i’d like to go first.” namaari said, sitting down next to the heart princess.
“ok, go for it, i’m here to listen.” raya replied.
“i’m really sorry for how i reacted. I didnt mean to hurt your feelings or imply you’re not intelligent. I was so ashamed that i let my fears get the best of me that i started acting like a...” Namaari began.
“A jerk?” Raya asked, mouth slightly quirked up at the corner
“A bitch.” Namaari smiled softly.
“I should’ve listened to what you were trying to tell me. I was being paranoid when i should’ve just toughened up.” Namaari finished.
Raya sighed and took her girlfriend’s hand that wasn’t holding onto the little bear.
“Don’t say that. You are not a bad person for being paranoid and it’s not so easy to just “toughen up” when it comes to trauma. I’m so sorry I made you feel that way, i was so wrong for that, maari. And i’m also sorry for opening the basket without your permission.” Raya confessed, making good on her agreement with sisu to apologize for making Namaari feel less than because of her fear.
“thank you, that means a lot to me, raya. I just dont want to start thinking that the druun will never return only to be proven wrong if they do, it makes me feel stupid and like i should’ve known better than to expect better. the nightmares and the second guessing and the stress of being alone on a lot of open land with no water source...it’s all so hard to deal with sometimes. but i think i’m realizing the more i push it down the worse it gets.” Namaari confessed.
“as much as i wish i knew what i could do to make it hurt you less, I don’t think i’ll ever fully understand how you’re feeling, even if our situations used to be similar—so i’m gonna work really hard to prove to you that you can always come to me and get comfort, even if i don’t always know what it’s like. i guess i was just feeding my own fear that you didn’t trust me instead of realizing you were so afraid because you do trust me.” raya explained, squeezing her girlfriend’s hand tighter.
“i dont want to lose you, not like i did before.” namaari said, unshed tears making their eyes gloss over as they squeezed raya’s hand tightly.
they both knew they were talking about when raya turned to stone, since namaari was uncertain if putting the pieces back together was going to work at all—if they hadn’t that would mean raya would be gone forever.
“i promise you i’m not going anywhere. i love you far too much to not fight for you.” the heart princess said, placing her hand softly on namaari’s cheek to use her thumb and brush away a stray tear.
“please never stop loving me.” namaari pleaded, tears rolling down her cheeks now.
“i wouldnt dream of it, dep la.” raya said, pulling the fang princess in for a long overdue make up kiss. she firmly pressed her lips to namaari’s as she pulled the princess’s face towards her, love confession making her needy. though she wanted to savor namaari (thanks to her newfound energy of course), she knew that this kiss was all they needed right now.
“if you want, we can start taking one thing out from the basket at a time,” Raya said as she broke the kiss, “i think we should start with the plant since it hasn’t had water since i got it and is probably dead.”
namaari chucked at this, “of course you’d get me a thirsty, half-dead plant to slip into my room. you’re a menace.”
“maybe,” raya began, breaking her sentence up by pressing another kiss to namaari’s soft lips with a smile, “but i’m your menace so you can’t get mad.”
“i love you, dep la.” namaari said, leaning over with the bear still clutched in their hands to rest their head on raya’s shoulder.
“and i love you, princess.” raya echoed, placing an arm around her girlfriend to pull her closer as they looked out at the water as the moonlight glistened on it.

Who would propose first between Raya and Namaari? And how they would propose?
thanks for the ask!
i don’t want to use SEA engagement traditions because i don’t have much knowledge of them and i wouldn't want to misrepresent anything! so i'm going to answer as if it's a modern au :D
(also, from what i know as an asain, asain engagements are typically not really a surprise and they're often more of a family affair, but that's not what we're here to talk about)
Raya and Namaari are one of those couples that regularly talked about their future even before they were engaged
Raya constantly joked that she would propose with a flash mob specifically because she knows that the idea would terrify Namaari
Namaari on the other hand, is a lot quieter about how she would want the proposal to go
So when she finally proposes to Raya, it surprises her. In a really good way.
Namaari has Sisu keep Raya out of their apartment all day and Namaari takes the day off of work
She spends the entire day decorating their apartment
When Raya walks in, she sees pictures they've taken with each other over the years that they were dating
Raya is very confused because this is not a normal thing that goes on, but she notices that the pictures start from around when they first met to where they are now
Anyways, the pictures end and Namaari is standing there
Raya is even more confused at this point
Namaari walks up to her, and takes the box with the engagement ring. She had a whole rehearsed speech, but now that she's looking at Raya, she forgets it all and has to stop herself from rambling
At this point, Raya has has already realized what's happening
Namaari opens the box with the engagement ring and asks Raya to marry her
Raya is crying and says yes through her tears because oh my gosh her now-fiance is so pretty and sweet and what the heck she's so lucky
Namaari forgets how engagements work and just kisses Raya before Raya pulls away and is like "you have to put the ring on my hand, idiot"
haha, i don't know how to end these. i hope you liked it, though. because them :pleading:
you can send me requests here!

This is chapter two (Chapter one)
Nurse Namaari struggles with the idea of visiting her past patient Raya, but caves.
Warnings: Brief mentions of addiction, and survivor’s guilt.
Word Count: 2533
--
Three days later
Namaari was sitting in her office writing reports when she heard a knock on the door. "Come in," She said as the door slowly opened.
"Hello, It's Sisu; I'm a Psych nurse, we've seen each other multiple times around the ER, but you officially meet me while I was comforting Raya, a past patient of yours. Could I possibly speak with you?" Sisu confidently states while poking her head through the crack of the door.
Namaari raised an eyebrow, shocked to see Sisu at her door. Nevertheless, she nodded. How could she forget that day? Raya's pale body...Sisu's screams...
Snap out of it!
Because of Hippa, Namaari was not allowed to check on Raya. Once a patient leaves the ER, they are no longer her patients, and she has no say in their care, and nine times out of ten, she'll never know if they survived. "Of course. Come take a seat," She finally answers as she motions with her hands that Sisu sits across from her.
Sisu nervously walks over to the chair, sitting down. She looks at a Namaari whose eyes are locked on her purple ones. She chuckles. "This isn't me talking to a coworker, okay. This is me talking to my friend about another friend." Sisu states as she watches Namaari's eyebrows raise before she nods yes, "Raya is in the cardiovascular/pulmonary unit. She survived the emergency surgery! She's still recovering, but she has made it clear she wants the gorgeous nurse that saved her life to visit her."
Namaari was extremely relieved but also confused. "Wait, what? She isn't your girlfriend?" Namaari asked as Sisu's face turned bright red, and she burst out in laughter.
"Hahaha, no! We dated for like a week during nursing school, but we never clicked romantically; We've been best friends ever since tho." Sisu managed to say between her laughter. Once she was able to control herself, she continued talking, "Anyways, she is in the J6 unit in the room: J601," Sisu says with a smirk before standing up from the chair; walking to the door, before stopping to say, "If you visit her, don't do it as a nurse. She's not looking for another member of her health care team. She wants to get to know the YOU who isn't a nurse." With that said, Sisu walks out, closing the door behind her.
Namaari sits at her desk, even more confused. She leans into her chair, thinking for a moment. She really found this girl alluring in every sense, but how was she supposed to chase after a girl she talked to for two minutes before she practically died in her arms. Not practically! She did die!
Maybe that's the reason.
What a great love story would it be...
When Namaari finished her shift three days ago, she broke down: She hadn't cried like that in years! She does remember crying somewhat similarly when she lost her first patient five years ago, but it was a different kind of sadness.
The truth is death was something Namaari had grown accustomed to. Of course, she felt emotional distress when a patient died, but when Raya flatlined; It shattered her.
She often found herself running through the event over and over in her head, trying to pinpoint how she didn't realize the gasps for air between Raya's flirting, where she struggled to breathe.
She should have seen the signs.
She should have realized Raya's heart was straining itself to keep her alive; that's why her blood pressure and pulse skyrocketed before they plummeted.
No matter how many times she runs the scenario in her head, she always blames herself.
When in reality, Namaari is excellent at her job. She has ample experience and education.
Yes, Raya's smile ultimately left her defenseless, but Namaari stood her ground.
Yes, Namaari's heart was fluttering for her patient, but she still put those feelings aside to save her life. Maybe she should stop scolding herself and accept that life is unpredictable.
And one thing holds true: Namaari felt immense attraction for Raya, but she still acted professionally.
Namaari blinked a few times, trying to pull herself out of her thoughts before bringing her hands up to her face, gently rubbing circles into her temples. "What has she done to you?". She asked herself as she laughed and looked at the time; 4 PM, her shift will be over in three hours. After her shift finishes, she'll shower quickly in the staff showers and change into clean scrubs. She scoffs when she realizes she'll have to wear blueberry-colored scrubs; that's the only colored scrubs the hospital provides.
The hospital has their staff color-coded, adult nurses wear grey scrubs, child nurses wear pink, x-ray technicians wear black, pharmacists and phlebotomists wear light blue, nursing assistants wear burgundy, and surgical residents wear blueberry-colored scrubs. Actually, most residents wear blueberry scrubs, but most commonly, you'll see surgical residents marching around the hospital in their blueberry scrubs.
--
"OWW OWW OWWW," Raya screams as a surgical resident removes the chest tube that was once allowing the excess air pooled in her chest cavity to escape her body, caused by her collapsed lung. It was no longer needed as the punched lung was fixed during her emergency surgery; they should have taken it out before but hadn't, fearing her lung could collapse again.
Raya felt utterly stupid. She was an extraordinary nurse, and she knew the signs of a collapsed lung, pneumothorax, but she ignored them.
If she thinks back to that day in the ER, she can vividly remember her chest burning in pain; shortness of breath, lightheadedness, an elevated pulse, and finally, the icing on the cake, her left shoulder hurt: All tale signs that her broken rib punctured her lung. Yet, she chose to ignore the warnings.
At least now, she can fully understand the power of adrenaline on someone's mind and body. It can genuinely make you believe that severe pain is minimal and that you'll be okay.
"Sorry, Ms.Hart. Do you want me to press on your magic pain button" The resident stated, causing Raya to stare back at them with frowning eyebrows before nodding no.
Raya was given a medicine button she can press for narcotics every so often, but she was trying not to press the button unless she really needed to. She knows firsthand how quickly people can get addicted to those meds.
The resident chuckled. "Sorry, I forgot you're a nurse, and I don't need to call it a magic button." Raya faked a smile before chuckling. She wasn't trying to be mean at all, but she hated being on the other side. Raya loved being the nurse, and suddenly she's the patient.
The resident smiled once more before excusing themselves out.
"You can stop fake smiling now," Sisu said.
She was curled up on a couch against the window. She had her eyes closed as she was sleeping. "Ughhh, I'm going to be late to my shift," She said, opening her eyes, noticing the clock on the wall before standing up from the couch, where she stretched before smiling. "Nightshift is the bestttt" She joked as she folded the sheets she was using to sleep.
"You must be exhausted! You haven't left the hospital in three days because of your back and forth from your shifts to watching me!! Go home, sleep in your own bed, and shower with shampoo that actually cleans your hair because your hair looks a mess right now." Raya sighed as she sat up in the bed, looking at Sisu with pleading eyes.
"You're my best friend, Raya!" Sisu stated as she finished folding the sheets and turned to look at Raya with tears beginning to pool in her eyes. "You dead...I watched you die." She exhaled as solo tears escaped her eyes; she quickly wiped them away with her thumbs.
Raya was looking at Sisu with sorrow and regret. She knew getting into a fight with Tong was stupid, and they didn't mean to injure each other terribly, but somehow they did. However, she knew she couldn't keep this conversation going as Sisu had 10 minutes to get to the psych department for her shift. So instead, she smiled and raised an eyebrow. "Note to self! Never die again." This statement caused Sisu to chuckle as she picked up her overnight bag; that holds her clean scrubs.
Sisu quickly walks over to Raya, side hugging her gently to not hurt her before pressing a quick kiss on her cheek. "I got to go. If anything happens, please call my office, okay! I MEAN IT." She stated firmly before running out the door.
Raya sighed before she burst out in tears. She had been playing strong for Sisu, but she was in shock. She was sure her best friend knew, but Raya really wasn't ready to talk about it. Raya knew deep down that she was having survives guilt, an overpowering and almost dominating emotion.
Her tears soon became sobs, and she felt her body begin to shake. She knew it was a panic attack, so she began to take deep breaths to calm herself.
Eventually, the trembling stopped while her tears persisted; her body was weakened by the energy needed to cry. She was also physically distressed now as each sob caused a painful sting to travel up her spine.
So she finally pressed her medicine button.
As time went by, her tears lessened, and her pain was managed. Soon enough, she found herself drifting off to sleep.
--
"You're the girlfriend?" Some unknown voice asked.
"Yeah, sure." She heard Namaari's voice hesitantly answer. "I've been in here for an hour, and she just doesn't wake up. Is everything okay?"
The other voice hummed as the conversation amused her. "I'm looking at her patient chart, and it only says to release personal information to Sisudatu." The unknown voice said,  probably her night nurse. "HIPPA Man. I wanna help you, but--"
"Yea, I know. It was worth a try, though." Namaari answered, sighing.
"She's just tired. Look closely at her face; maybe you can figure out why she is so exhausted--ANYWAY, press on the call light if you need anything, or poke your head outside the door. Great to meet you...girlfriend Namaari." The nurse chuckled; it was clear she didn't believe that.
Raya so badly wanted to open her eyelids, but they felt so heavy. She tried to speak, but she was too tired to make words. So as she heard Namaari sit on the chair next to her bed, gently grabbing her call button (that's also a tv remote), turning it on. With the very little energy she had, she smiled as she drifted to sleep once again.
--
Nammari woke up curled up in a chair. She looked to her left, seeing a snoring Raya in her patient bed. She smiled, noticing the puffy eyes were gone.
When she came in yesterday around eight pm, she found Raya passed out with red puffy eyes. Tears had stained her cheeks, and her eyebrows frowned. Namaari knew she probably cried herself to sleep before she got there; she even tried to confirm it with her night nurse but to no avail. She yawned as she brought her left hand up to her eye level to look at her watch. 7:30 AM.
She lightly rubbed her tired eyes as someone burst into the room. She removed her hands from her eyes, spotting a very tired Sisu pulling the curtain open. Once Sisu noticed her, a wide smile spread on her face; she turned and noticed Raya was sleeping, so she whispered, "Hey, Namaari. Great to see you! Did you just get here?" She said excitedly as she yawned, placing her bag on the floor; Quickly shuffling to the couch that folds out to a bed.
"I came yesterday, but she was sleeping. It looked like she shouldn't be left alone, so I kinda fell asleep here," Namaari replied as she watched Sisu unfold some sheets, probably getting ready to sleep, she presumed. "I don't work today. I can stay with her..." She began to say as Sisu's eyes shot up from the couch to meet her's with a massive grin on her face.
"Are you completely sure?" Sisu asked, raising an eyebrow. Namaari noticed the eyebags and the apparent exhaustion. She nodded yes before opening her mouth to speak but was cut off by another voice. Raya's voice.
The voice Namaari's been repeatedly hearing in her mind. Precisely when Raya called her a 'godly woman.' Thinking back to that moment made her blush.
"She's... *yawn* ...giving you... *yawn* ..an out.. *yawn* ...take it," Raya stuttered as her eyelids fluttered open. She noticed Namaari first on her right and smiled but brought her gaze back to her best friend. "Go home. It's been four days now. I'm okay."
Sisu tilted her head to the side, looking at Raya with knowing eyes. She turned to look at Namaari. "Raya had a panic attack after I left. That's why she was so exhausted; I'm assuming it's survivor's guilt, but I'm her best friend, so I'm not allowed to evaluate her." Sisu said while crossing her arms across her chest, raising her eyebrows before turning her gaze to Raya. "I'm scared to leave again," She admitted as her tone became soft.
"I'm very much capable of taking care of her," Namaari stated. She knew this current situation was unusual. Truthfully a part of her wanted to leave, believing she didn't deserve even a slimmer of a chance of happiness. However, something kept her there—the desire to TRY and get to know Raya.
Namaari was very self-aware that if she let the opportunity of getting to know Raya personally slip, she would always wonder, what if . Because the truth is, if it doesn't work out, then she can at least say she tried.
Sisu uncrossed her arms and looked over at Namaari. "As a friend?" Sisu questioned Namaari, "Or as a nurse?"
Namaari chuckled. "I'm not part of her medical staff," She stated as she raised her hands in defeat. "I'm here as a friend."
"I thought you said we were girlfriends tho? Or was I dreaming?" Raya randomly blurted, both the other girls looking at her. Sisu's face showing confusion, and Namaari's embarrassment.
"OKAYYY, that's my queue to leave! Tong should be here around 2 PM so you can go home, Namaari." Sisu said, winking at Raya before grabbing her bag and walking out of the room.
Namaari's heart was beating faster, realizing she was alone with Raya. Her cheeks burning as if they were on fire. She turned to look at her and found she was already staring and smiling at her. "Was it a dream?" Raya asked again as she slowly sat up, clutching her chest.
"No, it wasn't a dream," Namaari whispered as she brought her hands down, looking at them.
Namaari was unsure how the next few hours would unveil. All she was certain of was:
She is sitting in a past patient's room.
She agreed to stay for hours.
She's highly attracted to this patient.
She thinks she's lost her dam mind.

I’m already working on the next chapter. It should be up in the next coming days. But realistically once I finish it; I’ll post it.

Raya and the princesses (This is a modern AU)
“Alright, follow me you two.”
A storm trooper leads Namaari, and Raya threw the business of ‘Oh My Disney!’. With Raya and Namaari being the newest Disney princesses, they now had to accompany the other prior princesses in their dressing room for online Disney events. For Raya, this experience was out of this world. With the song ‘Let it Go’ playing in the background while Star Wars ships zoom across the sky along with dumbo, she was overwhelmingly excited. She felt like a kid in a Candy store.
For Namaari however, this was something she struggled to find enjoying. Namaari loves peace and quiet when she has it and will often spend her time reading a book or reading a Fang legend to a bunch of Fang children when she doesn’t have sparring sessions or piles and piles of Fang documents and contracts to sign. Namaari followed alongside the storm trooper while keeping her hands very close to her sides to avoid touching one of the happy square-headed people roaming around. Namaari also happened to be claustrophobic, so this wasn’t helping whatsoever. But when Namaari took one glance at Raya beaming with enjoyment and her eyes glowing, she decided that maybe enjoying her time there wouldn’t be terrible.
“OMG NAMI!!” Raya yelped. Nami was one of Raya’s many nicknames for the fang princess.
“What? What is it?” Namaari said frantically.
“It’s THE buzz light year! THE BUZZ LIGHT YEAR NAMI! Can we please go say hi? I wanna give him my best impression of himself,” Raya said with pleading eyes.
With Namaari being Namaari, she obviously couldn’t say no, because its Raya for Christ sake.
“Ofco-,”
“No. You both are already late for preparation for the ‘Which Disney princess are you’ quizlet. Let’s go.” Barked the storm trooper. Damn, who spit in your congee? Raya wondered.
Raya looked back at Namaari with a, can you believe this asshat, Kind of look. Pursed her lips and rose her shoulders in a, it is what it is, kind of look. Namaari and Raya were great at reading each other like this. They did it all the time when they had fights.
After a few more stops with Raya’s stalling, and more of the storm troopers eyerolling (which you couldn’t tell because of his helmet but it was obvious), they eventually made it too the ‘cast members only’ section. There they found Nick wild, Grumpy the dwarf, tinker bell, and hei hei.
“Ahh ha ha, so these must be the new princesses,” Nick walks towards the trio of the storm trooper and the Kumandran princesses. His words trail off as he looks at them both up and down.
“I gotta ask- no poofy dresses? Whats that all about?” Nick asks, direction his attention towards raya, then Namaari.
“Nah, dresses make it way harder to beat Nami at sparring,” Raya responds as she shifts her wight to her right leg and crosses her arms in a cool way.
“Please- like you’ve ever beaten be binturi,” Namaari blushes and mimics rayas arm cross. Nick gags at the mini flirting session.
“well, gotta hand it to ya princess- I think I like you more without the dress. I guess I owe Flash 10 bucks.” Nick says as he sticks a lollipop in his mouth and puts his shades on and walks away.
“Did a fox just try and flirt with me?” Raya laughed. Namaari was a little mad that anyone except her would talk to Raya flirtatiously, but brushed it off.
“You two are running short on time. You, go through that door, and you through that one.” The storm trooper points at two doors that are directly across the hall from each other. Namaari and Raya find this odd, especially because they’re both princesses- shouldn’t they be in the same room?
Namaari goes off through her door while Raya is ushered by the Storm trooper to go through hers.
“What an ass.” Raya mumbled to herself.
The Moment Raya looks up, she is bombarded with the smell of perfume, and sweet sounds of angelic singing. Raya looks around at the beautifully designed room. She stares over at the other women in the room, primping each other’s hair or mingling amongst themselves. She straightens her hat. She saw one princess playing jump rope with two others. But the jump rope was…hair? Raya was confused. Raya begins to “walk” over too where the other princesses are but struggles to actually move her legs because she’s not great with people. Especially because she hasn’t had much interaction with them for 6 years. She starts rehearsing in her head good things to say to someone, like compliments, and asking, “How’s the weather today?”. Small talk. Raya hated the concept.
She eventually builds up the courage to stop standing in her own embarrassment and walk over to the princess area but fails as she lands back first on the floor. She slipped in something.
The princesses immediately notice this because Raya was quite dramatic about her fall when she did. She groaned in agony as a beautiful princess rushed towards her.
“Oh! Are you okay? I am truly sorry. Raja must have peed on the floor again. Bad kitty!” The princess scolds her giant cat- tiger that lays on the long blue couch. He cocks his head in confusion when he heard his name. He ignores her and licks his left paw.
“OMG. Are you the new princess? Guys! She’s the new princess!” Another princess rushes over. This girl has wet curly hair with a black and white pig by her side. All of the other princesses file in over Raya. They all begin to clap whilst a princess begins to sing angelically in celebration.
“FINALLY! I’ve been waiting for another badass warrior chick to show up. Sick sword girl! Where’d you get it” A girl with short straight black hair grabs raya by the arm and walks with her around the room.
“oh- thanks! It belongs to my Ba.” Raya says as the puts one arm behind her head in nervousness.
“Whats a Ba-“ A princess with long read hair and rosy cheeks asks with a head cock. She’s cut off by the next princess.
“Holy crap! How are you’re arms so muscly??” One of the princesses asks as she squishes raya’s biceps, which makes her highly uncomfortable. Raya begins to back away from the large crowd of girls- which was a mistake.
“Um- yeah I guess so…you should see My girlfr-“ Raya is cut off when she trips over something on the ground and lands on something warm and fury- Raja.
Raja growls and purrs at raya, but then begins to lick her because he senses her fear. Raya leaps up.
“Gah! Don’t hurt me orange serlot!” Raya exclaims as the goes into the sideways feat position on the ground.
“Raja, play nice!” Jasmine says. Raya couldn’t tell it was here as she was rolled up for the sake of her life.
“What’s a serlo-“The same princess from earlier who asked what a Ba was asked. Shes interrupted once more once an unexpected guest makes an appearance.
“Ride Like the wind ya big fur-bug!” A girl with curly red hair flys’ around the room on- Tuk Tuk? He was here! Meredith nocks over a bunch of chairs and startles Raja.
“Fur-bug? TUK TUK!” Raya gets up in relief to finally see a familiar face- a face with a big wet nose. Tuk Tuk stops rolling and galops over to Raya, much to Meredith’s disappointment. All of the other princesses share an “aww” as Raya nuzzles Tuk Tuk with her nose.
“Boo! I was having fun ey? He sure is quite a ride tho. Ought to give the lad that.” Meredith said as she shoulders bumped Aurora. Aurora clears her throat and steps away from Meredith slightly.
“Glad to see you bud!” Raya said. All of the other princesses gather around Raya and tuktuk, who are still near the door. She never got to get fully settled in after being bombarded with questions and perfume.
“Now lady’s, I think it’s about time we all gave the new gal a proper introduction.” Tiana says with her hands on her hips, gesturing her statement towards Mulan and Cinderella, who were the main ones who asked Raya questions. They both giggle in agreement.
All of the princesses introduce themselves and show raya their power if they have one, or just tell her about their past and how they became royalty. Raya listens to each of them in awe but gets distracted during a few of the short speeches only to be wondering how Namaari was doing in the other room. She hoped Namaari was okay. They last few minutes mostly consisted of years and uh-huhs from Raya’s side as she listened to all of the princesses’ backstories. After a while, the very last princess told Raya about her backstory.
“And that’s how I saved the world with my good friend Maui, shape shifter, demigod of the wind and- “Moana goes on but gets cut off.
“Okay but for real, for once just say Maui and drop the formalities.” Anna groaned with impatience as she twirled her red strands of hair.
“Hey, I gotta give my man his credit. Put some respect on his name, you know?” Moana says all hyped up. Mulan screams “PERIOD” from across the room as she sharpens her sword. Pocahontas rolls her eyes at the childish ness.
“Period is so old now Mulan- no one says it anymore,” Pocahontas says.
“You right you right… SHEEEEEEESH” Mulan says as she connects two fingers to the crease of her forearm. She bits her lips and widens her leg stance. Moana dies of laughter at this.
“Maui does that all the time and its so fricking annoying,” Moana says. Raya laughs at all of this; she felt like she almost found her place. Raya loved making others laugh and enjoyed doing it in the form of 10-year-old boy humor. She was glad that these girls matched her energy.
“Guy’s, were kinda getting off track- New girl. How did you become a Disney princess? Who’s your prince? Or were you already born into nobility?” Tiana asks as she brushed Rapunzel’s long gold strands.
Raya pursed her lips. She hated speaking in front of large crowds. She was never the best at presenting school projects in her child days and doesn’t enjoy it now either. One of the many reasons why she is in no hurry to become Chief of Heart. Raya suddenly notices all eyes on her. Oh shit, they actually want me to speak? Fuck no-
“Um…” Raya starts. “Well, I guess I was born into nobility. My father is chief of my homeland Heart, a land in Kumandra,” she said nervously as she looked down and played with dead skin on her finger.
“And as for a prince- I don’t have one? I have a girlfriend named Namaari whos’ a princess of Fang, another land in Kumandra…” Raya noticed all of the princesses staring at her in awe and interest. Even belle put down her book once the Heart land princess mention a female love interest.
“Yeah…We kind of went from enemies to lovers. She sorts of stabbed me in the back when we were kids and caused our world to face 6 years of apocalypse,” Raya Gained some confidence s=once she realized her audience was enjoying her story. “But eventually I had to realize that maybe putting my faith in Namaari was the only thing that could save us. Kumandra. When the druun, which was the cause of the apocalypse, was closing in on me, Namaari, a baby named Noi, A buff winter soldier named Tong, and one hell of a cook named Boun, I decided that the only way to get us out of there was to use the one thing sisu wanted us to do; trust each other. I put my faith in Namaari, and she came through. And she has ever since.”
Raya finished. She looked around to see the other princesses gathers around her on their stomachs with their chins on their hands like little preschoolers.
“Woah.” They all said.
“Damn girl! That’s some powerful shit!” Mulan said as the rapped an arm around Raya’s shoulder in approval. Mulan was slightly taller that Raya, about Namaari’s height. Raya smiled sweetly as the other princesses Hollard in agreement.
“So how did you find all of these people? Noi, Tong, all of them?” Jasmine asked. She was sitting on her magic carpet with Raja purring by her side.
“Oh! I kinda scooped them up with me along the way. You see, I had to travel to each of the four kingdoms, Fang, Talon, Spine, and Tail to get these gem pieces that would save the world. I found Boun in Tail- He was my getaway driver-“
“From whom? Were the druun chasing you?” Elsa asked eagerly.
“Namaari. Namaari was chasing after me because…Actually, I had no idea why. Before she was chasing me, I had just gotten a Gem piece from Tail. Namaari showed up out of no where all of a sudden and mention something about the dragon scroll that I stole from Fang, which was useless to her which makes me wonder why she needed it; She was also holding my hair pin which is also kinda odd- “
“I KNOW WHY! SHE LOVED YOU RAYA WERE YOU BLIND? WHY ELSE WOULD SHE KEEP YOUR HAIR PIN THINGY?” Belle jumped up in excitement. She felt like this was some kind of good book.’
“Nah, it wasn’t love. I think Namaari wanted to get RIPPED TONIGHT-“Mulan shouted as the fake flexed her arms.
“RIP THAT PUSSY AYYEE!” Moana moved her arms and hips to copy the Tiktok trend. Aurora pinched the bridge of her nose and groaned at the immaturity. Raya was Hot red and covered her face to hide it- did Namaari actually like her at the time? I guess it would make sense, seeing as how Namaari always called her Dep la, which meant strangely beautiful.
“Ladies! Let her finish!” Tiana snapped. Raya could tell that Tiana was the mom of the group.
“Anywas, after I found Boun in Tail, I picked up baby noi in Talon, where she conned me- she faked cried so she could steal my gem piece,” Raya shook her head in laughter at the memory.
“That baby new what was up.” Pocahontas chimed in.
“I eventually caught her and her gang of Ongis and helped her earn some honest loot by helping me get the gem piece from the chief of Talon.” Raya concluded.
“We took Noi with us and went to spine, where tong captured me and sisu, and the gem pieces. Tuk tuk, Boun, Noi and the Ongis thankfully came to our rescue, but that was exactly when Namaari showed up in spine.” Raya said.
“Yes! More Namaari moments! Did you guys kiss?” Moana asked eagerly.
“Oh, they totally did more than that moana.” Mulan said with her eyebrows quirked and her arms crossed.
“Shut up! We didn’t do anything! She actually beat my ass.” Raya should choose better wording.
“EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!” All of the princesses squealed, except for Meredith, who was busy trying to stop tuk tuk from eating cold beignets Tiana had made so they could go on another joyride.
“NO WAY. NO WAY. YALL DID? SHE DID? PERIOD NAMAARI AHHHH YESSSS!!” Mulan was jumping on the couch in happiness. Raya was blushing so hard that she had steam coming out of her ears.
“Uh, g-guys? If “Beat my ass” means what I think it means, then I think Eric might have beaten mine last night…” Ariel said with a blush. Mulan, moana and Pocahontas had their jaws wide open. Cinderella had her hand over her mouth to try and hold back her laugh.
“ARIEL! YOU NAUGHTY GIRL! I DIDN’T KNOW ERIC HAD IT LIKE THAT! WAS IT GOOD THOUGH?” Moana asked loudly, hoping eric would hear from across the hall. Ariel nodded. Ariel was known at the innocent one of the groups, so this was a huge shock to everyone.
“Same Ariel! Naveen gave it to me good last night if you know what I’m saying…” Tiana said as she poked her lips out. Moana and Mulan couldn’t help but squeal. Raya was on the ground dying laughing with Pocahontas at what Tiana said.
For the next few minutes, the girls all went on rants about their sex life, except for the ones with know love interest. They laughed a whole lot that day. Raya felt lightheaded the entire time she was there due to laughing.
Eventually, the girls decided to settle down and all watch the Lion king. Mulan made the popcorn, while Belle gathered the drinks. Raya had never seen the lion king before because this was her first time actually watching a movie with friends. The movie was great, but the loud commentary about the movie made by mostly moana and Mulan was even better, and the other princess agreed to this with laughter. During the Hakuna Matata scene, Mulan played Timone, and Moana was Pumba, while Raya tried her best to copy Simba’s lines for the mini skit.
“WHEN HE WAS A YOUNG WART HOG,” Mulan sang badly.
“WHEN I WAS A YOUNG WART HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOGGGG!” Moana sang worse, which made the other princesses laugh.
The other princess enjoyed this. Raya didn’t that much, because she had to eat jello and pretend it was the bug Simba ate in the movie.
“WHAT IS THIS TEXTURE?” Raya shouted with a mouth full of goo. Jasmine died laughing from Raya’s response, along with Aurora.
“EAT IT YOU PUSSY!” Mulan shouted, breaking character.
All of the girls got emotional during the, can you Feel the Love tonight song. The all sang in harmony, except for raya because she didn’t know the song. Raya did however cry during the scene where Simba and Scar fought on pride rock and Simba almost died multiple times.
“NO NOT SIMBA!” Raya shouted at the screen.
“Don’t worry, he lives.” Meredith shouted from across the room, still trying to get tuk tuk up.
Raya Couldn’t help but enjoy the time she had they’re with the princesses. She felt at home. Obviously not like Kumandra, for that will always be her home, but she felt like she found her people. Namaari usually tool Raya’s jokes to seriously, or just pinched her the bridge of her nose and chuckle when Raya mad 10-yearold boy humor. Raya was just finally glad to find some girls who were wild like her.
After the movie ended, the girls clapped and cheered.
“Hey, didn’t when have a Disney princess quizlet to attend?” Elsa asked. Everyone else shrugged and ignored it. They actually didn’t have anything to attend, because as we know, ralph broke the internet, so nobody was able to go online and take the quiz.
“Quick question for you Raya- Is Boun Single, I mean, a man that can cook; that’s what I need” Moana said as she pointed to nothing.
“Preach.” Mulan commented.
“MOANA BOUN IS 10- DID I KNOW MENTION THAT?!” Raya said. All of the other girls busted out laughing.
“…I mean…A six year age difference is that-“
“MOANA OF MOTONUI!” Tiana shouted as she threw a pillow at moana. The other girls couldn’t help but laugh. Raya was going to have a fun time with these girls.

Chapter 3:
A few more days passed. It was a Saturday morning and Raya was riding on Sisu over the Heart land, trying to distract herself from the emptiness she’s been feeling over the past couple days since her and Namaari have become even more distant.
As Raya and Sisu returned back to the ground, she noticed that Namaari appeared to be all packed up and on her way to the stables to get her Serlot. Fang wasn’t supposed to leave until the next morning.
“You’re leaving so soon?” Raya asked disappointedly, slowly approaching Namaari.
“Yeah, I should get back to Fang to get the Royal Army prepared, just in case of an ambush.”
“Is that what you want?” Raya asked, her voice breaking.
“Yes? I’ve got to keep Fang’s Royal Army prepared at all times,” Namaari replied, confused.
Raya shook her head. “No, I meant…Is pushing me away and losing our friendship what you want?” Tears were forming in her eyes. The last thing she wanted to happen was to lose Namaari for good, especially after they were finally able to trust each other again.
“I never wanted to push you away, but I just…I just…” Namaari found herself struggling to find the right words to say. She looked down and started fidgeting with her fingers nervously, her palms getting sweaty. She was never like this. She was the princess warrior of Fang, for crying out loud! Why couldn’t she just bring herself to say something, anything?
Raya stepped closer to Namaari, holding both her hands tightly. The feeling of Raya’s soft hands in hers instantly calmed Namaari down. “Tell me what you want,” Raya said boldly, looking back at Namaari.
Namaari was never good with words. Whenever she didn’t know what to say, she would turn to actions to express what she was feeling. However, in that moment, with Raya’s big brown eyes looking into hers, Namaari was frozen. Her heart was racing at Raya’s voice, Raya’s closeness, Raya’s hand gently holding onto hers. Namaari’s throat went dry, and though she kept trying to search for the right words — hell, any words — to say, nothing came to mind.
“Hmm?” Raya asked, waiting for an answer as she reached up with her free hand to tuck the hair behind Namaari’s ear.
All Namaari could manage to do was stare back at Raya, entranced by her beauty. Raya eventually figured that Namaari was too lost for words to respond, so the Heart princess pulled the other woman down by her neck and kissed her softly. The kiss ended just as suddenly as it started, leaving Namaari quietly craving for more. Raya pulled away slowly, slightly nervous about what the Fang princess’ reaction would be.
It didn’t seem like Namaari was upset about the kiss, which Raya was relieved about. “W-What about your girlfriend?” Namaari asked softly once she managed to get her voice back.
Raya shook her head. “I’ve realized that in some ways, I’ve been trying so hard to hold onto some things from the past, that I’ve completely lost sight of the person I want now, in the present moment.”
“I want you too,” Namaari whispered, smiling. She pulled Raya in for another kiss, this time more passionate than the first.
They pulled away after a few more kisses, both of them with big smiles on their faces. “So will you please stay a few more days?” Raya asked.
“Of course, dep la.”
“Good, so that means that we can go dragon racing! I’ve been wanting to race with you since the dragons returned!” she said excitedly. Before Namaari could speak, Raya added, “Oh yeah, and I have dibs on Sisu, me being the biggest dragon nerd and all.
Namaari rolled her eyes. “I think my necklace that I’m wearing says otherwise,” she responded, looking down at the dragon necklace around her neck.
Raya chuckled. “Whatever you say, dep la. But just know that whatever dragon I’m riding, I’m always going to beat you.”
Namaari got closer to Raya. “Prove it then,” she whispered, which gave Raya chills. Namaari quickly turned and ran toward Sisu to get on her before Raya had the chance.
“Hey! That’s not fair!” a flustered Raya yelled out, chasing Namaari. Raya managed to tackle Namaari down to the sand before she could get on Sisu’s back. “She’s mine!” Raya said laughing, trying to pin Namaari down to the ground.
Namaari was laughing so hard she didn’t have enough energy to get out from under Raya. After a few minutes, with Raya’s hands holding Namaari’s over her head, the two of them finally managed to stop laughing. “I love you, dep la,” Namaari whispered.
Raya smiled. “I love you too, ‘Maari.”
--
Epilogue:
While Raya and Namaari were laughing on the sand, Minh was standing in the bushes nearby, watching them intensely. Her heart was beating faster and faster as anger flooded through her veins. She had waited for this moment — the perfect moment to finally seek revenge on Fang for what they did to her parents and her siblings.
Minh had never truly loved Raya. She heard many rumors about how Raya had wrongfully trusted someone from Fang, which then led to the destruction of the dragon gem and the unleashing of the Druun. Minh was desperate for revenge after her siblings were taken — so much so that she managed to track Raya down and “bump” into her in Talon. She smiled a sly smile as she approached the two princesses, sword in hand. She was finally going to get the revenge she so desperately craved.
Laying underneath Raya, Namaari turned her head as she felt eyes boring into her skull. Seeing the sword Minh was holding and the anger in her eyes, Namaari gently pushed Raya off her, standing up. Confused, the Heart princess turned and saw Minh and quickly realized that she probably saw what was happening between her and Namaari.
“Minh, look, I can explain-“
Minh scoffed. “I don’t care for your explanation. Hell, I don’t care about you at all. I came here for one person and one person only,” she said, her voice shaking as she came closer and aimed her sword at Namaari’s chest.
Sisu, who was still standing a few feet away, slowly approached Minh as she sensed the rising tension in the air. Seeing Sisu out of the corner of her eye, Minh quickly drew out an arrow, stabbing the dragon in the stomach. “Sisu!” Raya yelled out, shocked at how fast everything went down. She ran to the dragon, who was now laying unconscious on the sand.
“Relax, it’s just a tranquilizer. I wouldn’t dream of killing a dragon,” Minh responded, rolling her eyes as she kept her sword pointed at Namaari.
Seeing the anger in Minh’s eyes directed at Namaari, Raya began, “I know you’re angry at Namaari for releasing the Druun, but it was partially my fault too-” but was cut off by the sound of Namaari’s dual swords being drawn.
“Not just that!” Minh yelled angrily. “Fang took my family! My parents and my siblings were innocent and you guys took them away from me!” she added, holding the handle of her sword tighter until her knuckles turned white out of anger.
“Minh-”
“Raya, get out of here. I can handle her. It’s the least I deserve for what I’ve done,” Namaari said softly, looking back at the Heart princess.
They gave each other a knowing look, and then Raya finally nodded and quietly left. She ran to get some Heart warriors to help Namaari just in case. She didn’t want to get her father because she didn’t want to risk losing him again.
After Namaari knew Raya was out of sight, she said, “Let’s get this over with,” standing in a fighting position.
Minh smirked. “Don’t underestimate me,” she said in a sing-song voice. She’s been so greedy for revenge that she’s just been consumed with the thought ever since she was twelve years old. She suddenly jumped at Namaari, their blades instantly clashing. Namaari was surprised at how forcefully Minh pushed her back, but she still managed to stand her ground.
Every blow each one made was met by the other’s sword. Though she hated to admit it, Namaari was struggling to land any kind of hit on Minh’s body or to gain somewhat of an advantage on the other woman. Minh was good.
Eventually, after Namaari, with only one of her swords in hand, got hold of Minh’s sword and tossed it aside, she thought she had found the perfect opportunity to pin Minh to the ground. However, she regretted it just as she threw Minh to the ground, quickly realizing it turned out to be a trap. While Minh was falling, she pulled her opponent’s sword out of her hand and swiftly hit it against Namaari’s shins, causing her to cry out in pain.
Minh used that moment of weakness to grab Namaari in a chokehold, putting her own sword up hard against the Fang princess’ neck. It cut into Namaari’s neck, causing her to wince in pain. “Everything bad that’s ever happened in my life is because of Fang! You guys-“ she began choking Namaari harder, causing her to taste blood coming up from the back of her throat. “My parents and siblings are dead now because of you, and I will not let their deaths go in vain!”Minh yelled, tears filling her eyes.
“O-On behalf of F-Fang, I’m sorry,” Namaari managed to croak out painfully.
Minh pulled away slightly, thrown off by what Namaari had said. The Fang princess took the opportunity to worm her way out, but Minh quickly pushed Namaari back down. In order to prevent her from running away, Minh stood up and pressed her shoe into Namaari’s ribs. She groaned, too weak to yell or fight back.
“Namaari!” Raya screamed, who had just arrived with Heart warriors by her side.

Namaari x Younger sister! Reader
Okay, I feel a tiny bit better so here you go
When you opened your eyes; it was daytime and it was raining. You looked around in confusion. You were in the forest, the leaves wet from the rain and you looked at your hands.
They were flesh, no longer stone but you couldn’t help but wonder how? How are she no longer stone? Where was ma? Where was Namaari? Was she okay?
So many questions ran through your mind as you walked down towards the Fang palace. Your face morphed into shock when you saw the state of it. Buildings were crumbled, the ground caved in. You looked around until you saw a familiar person.
“’Maari?” You called out. Namaari tensed, hearing a voice she never thought she would hear again. She slowly turned around, her mouth dropping in shock when she saw you.
“Y/N!” She exclaimed, running towards her. You ran towards her as well, and finally felt her wrap her arms around you. You cried into her shoulder and you felt her do the same.
“Oh my dragons,” she pulled away, looking down at you with a shocked expression. She cupped her cheeks, looking at you for an sign of injury. “I thought I was never going to see you again” she whispered, tears slipping out of her eyes.
You wiped your eyes. “I thought I was never coming back” you admitted. Once again, your older sister eveloped you in another hug. She held you tight, as if you were to disappear if she let go.
You opened your eyes and your eyes widenend when you saw a beautiful girl with long hair and a single braid on top. She was watching the scene with a confused expression on her face.
“W-who’s that?” You asked as Namaari pulled away from the hug. She looked over at her before waving her over. The girl obeyed and walked over to the both of you.
“Y/N, this is Raya. She’s the Heart Princess” Namaari introduced. Your eyes widened as you quickly formed a gem over your head and bowed. Raya chuckled. “You don’t have to. But uh, ‘Maari, I didn’t know you had a sister” Raya said as she glanced over at the Fang princess.
Namaari pursed her lips. “I know...It was just hard for me to talk about. She turned to stone about a year ago. That’s kind of why...I was also kind of a bitch.” She continued as she placed an arm around you. You leaned into her touch and laid your head against her chest, savoring the moment.
“After she turned to stone, I began to get more determined on stopping the Druun” she finished explaining as she glanced down at you. Raya watched the scene as the memory of her ba came back to her.
“No, I get you. It’s the same with my ba.” She said. Namaari and Raya gazed at each other with a small smile. However, as you watched a small smirk formed on your lips.
“Ahem, anyway. Raya, Namaari, why don’t you guys...hang around? I’m gonna go see ma” you said quickly leaving the scene as both princesses looked at you confused.
~*~
After your very emotional reunion, you went back to your room to change. But also, to plot on how to get Raya and Namaari alone together. You knew your sister. She may seem very strict and intimidating on the outside, but when it came to you or her Serlots, she was a big furball.
And you could see that it was the same with Raya. You knew about your sister’s obsession with Raya. Okay, obsession is a strong word.
Oh!
Sapphic yearning.
There you go.
You knew about your sister’s feelings towards the Princess, even when she would get angry and deny it when you would ask her. But you weren’t stupid. Yeah, you were younger than her, but you weren’t oblivious either.
The way they looked at each other is how your ma’s used to look at each other when you and Namaari were younger.
You quickly changed into a white Subai and brushed your h/c hair before heading out.
Everyone was planning on going back to Heart, to announce that they were Kumandra again. Plus, Raya was going to reunite with her ba. You left your room when you turned a hallway.
There, you saw Namaari and Raya talking. You panicked before hiding behind a pillar and peeking out.
“Are you nervous?”
“A little. I haven’t seen my ba in 6 years. What if he doesn’t recongnize me?”
“I’m sure he’ll recongnize you. You look exactly the same. Short as ever”
Raya giggled, gently pushing Namaari’s arm. “Shut up. I’ll see you later yeah?” Raya asked as she began to walk away. Namaari watched with red cheeks. “Y-yeah. I’ll see you later!” She said as she watched the princess walk away.
Namaari watched with a dreamy expression, not hearing when you appeared behind her.
“Awww, someone has a crush” you cooed in a mocking voice. Namaari sighed before looking at you, her brows furrowed in annoyance. You smirked. “Just admit it. You like her” you said crossing her arms.
Namaari rolled her eyes. “No, I don’t. She’s just-”
“A friend. Yeah, yeah. That’s what ma said about mama and then we were born” you teased. Namaari sighed closing her eyes.
“Okay, fine. So, what if I think she’s cute?” She admitted as she crossed her arms. You squealed in excitement. “Namaari’s got a girlfriend!”
“Shh!” Namaar hushed you as you giggled. “Shut up, binturi, people are gonna hear” she whisper yelled. You lifted your hands up in surrendur. “Sorry. Well, I’m gonna go talk to ma, you figure out your.... thing” you said before turning on your heel and walking away, feeling your older sister’s eyes burn a hole in the back of your head.
~*~
A few hours passed and you everyone else were on their way to Heart. The sun was beginning to settle when everyone arrived. You yawned as you got off your Serlot, patting his head as you followed your mom and sister.
You watched with a small smile as Raya and her ba reunited, remembering when you and your sister saw each other again for the first time. You glanced at said girl who was watching the scene.
She felt your gaze and looked down at you. You smiled as she wrapped a hand around your shoulder. Soon, everyone began to close in as Chief Benja looked in pure shock.
Sisu went up to him and explained what happened. Soon, everyone bowed and walked across the bridge into Heart.
~*~
You watched with a smirk on your face as Raya and Namaari talked, both their cheeks flushed as they shared a laugh. You took a bite of your food when you heard someone sigh next to you.
You looked to see Boun. “Oh, hey” you greeted. He smiled. “Hi” he greeted. You both stayed quiet as you watched both princesses talk. He sighed. “They’re so oblivious” he said. You looked at him in surprise. “You noticed it too?” You asked shocked. He looked at you confused. “Yeah. They obviously like each other they’re just either too oblivious to do anything or they’re...not the smartest people”
You laughed. “Nah. Raya is the most oblivious person ever, and Namaari is too chicken to ask her out” you pointed at them with your fork. Boun laughed. “Right? Like come on” you both shared a laugh.
You both stayed quiet for a minute when you noticed a woman from Talon go up to Raya. Your eyes narrowed as you watched her ask Raya something. The Princess smiled and let the Talon woman grab her hand, leading her to the dance floor.
“Wait, what’s going-”
“Shh” you shushed Boun as you watched them dance. Your eyes then trailed to your older sister who was standing by your ma and was watching with narrowed eyes.
You smirked. “She’s jealous. Quick, we need to do something” you whispered. Boun agreed before you both left your posts and went to your places.
“’Maari!” You greeted your sister. She glanced over at you. “What’s wrong?” She asked, a look of worry washing over her features. “Uh, why don’t you dance with Raya?” You asked, your voice going slightly higher.
Sadly, your sister knew you too well. She knew when your voice got high meant you were lying or stalling. She raised a brow. “Uhm...because she’s already dancing with someone else?”
You turned to see Boun ‘accidently’ spilling juice on the Talon woman’s dress, causing her to get embrassed and leave the scene. Raya stood there in confusion.
“Come on!” You pulled your sister’s arm, making her yelp as you dragged her across the floor. Boun grabbed Raya’s hand as well and soon they were both facing each other.
“U-Uh hi” Namaari stammered. Raya smiled. “Hey. Nice party right? My ba did a great job” she said happily, not aware at all of what was going on. Namaari gazed at the Princess in front of her with a small smile before she heard your voice.
She glanced back to see you standing next to Boun. “Dance! Dance with her!” You pressured. Namaari turned back towards the princess, tugging her bottom lip with her teeth in nervousness.
“Um...Wanna dance?” She asked. Raya smiled and slipped her hand in Namaari’s. Soon, a slow song began to play and couples from different lands danced together. You watched, sitting on one of the chairs as your sister danced with the Heart Princess.
“So, uh...wanna dance?” Boun asked shyly. You chuckled. “Nah, I don’t dance. But you can get me some juice, that’d be nice” you said. He nodded before walking off. You turned back at the scene but the moment was ruined for you when you saw a man from Spine come by and asked Raya to switch with him which she gladly did.
“Ugh. This Heart Princess is dumber than my sister” you muttered under your breath as you walked towards your older sister who watched in sadness.
“What the heck happened?” You asked crossing your arms. Your sister sighed as she watched Raya happily dance with different people. “I don’t know...maybe she doesn’t feel the same” she guessed.
You groaned. “No, it’s because she’s more oblivious than a fish.” You grasped Namaari’s tank top so she looked straight at you. “Go get your girl ‘Maari. Don’t let some Spine dude or Talon woman steal her” you pressured.
Namaari’s eyes trailed towards Raya who was laughing at something a Tail woman said. She sighed. “Okay” she said. However, she just stood there. You pushed her slightly. “Go” you pressured.
Namaari shyly walked towards Raya. Boun appeared next to you with a drink in hand. “What was that all about?” He asked. You took the drink from his hand before taking a sip. “Eh, teenage love. Now, let’s go terrorize someone”
~*~
Watching your sister fail at flirting and watching Raya get hit on by another person was torture. Namaari was horrible at showing her feelings thanks to your mother’s words of “We make smart decisions not emotional ones” which you really didn’t listen to anyways.
You sighed as you pretended to listen what your mother was telling you as you watched Namaari sadly sip her drink as some random person was flirting with Raya.
Does this girl not know she’s getting hit on? Of course not, she’s so oblivious it’s not even funny.
“Excuse me, ma. I’m gonna go check on ‘Maari she seems kinda sad” you excused before quickly sprinting towards your sister.
“You know, you moping around is ruining my mood” you commented, startling your sister. She glanced at you before sighing. “Why even try, Y/N? She doesn’t even know I’m flirting with her. She doesn’t even know they’re flirting with her! So, why try?” She asked quietly.
Even though you loved to tease your sister about being sad, you felt bad for her. You never experienced what she was feeling but you knew it hurt. Seeing the person you have a giant crush on dance with other people.
You sighed quietly as you watched Raya talk to her ba about something. Finally you decided what to do. “Stay here. Watch my drink” you said as you handed Namaari your cup who held it surprised.
You quickly walked towards the Chief and Heart Princess. “Princess Raya, Chief Benja” you greeted as you bowed. You broke your pose before looking over at the girl.
“I would like to steal Raya for a little bit if that’s alright” you explained. Benja agreed before walking away. “What’s up?” Raya asked as you proceeded to walk out the ball room.
Soon, you were both roaming the hallways, laughing and giggling at things you both said. She would be an awesome sister-in-law.
Soon, you both found yourselves looking out the balcony in Heart’s halls. “Um. So, I need some advice? I guess” you started. Raya raised a brow. “I’m the last person you should be seeking advice from but okay” she said as she leaned so she was looking at you.
You took a deep breath. This is for your sister. Your dumb, shy, scared sister. “Well, it’s not for me, it’s actually for ‘Maari” you said. Raya furrowed a brow. “Why couldn’t she ask me herself?” She asked. You shrugged. “Too shy I guess. Anyway, so Namaari...she likes this girl” you explained. However, you saw Raya visibly shrink at that sentence.
“She...she likes someone?” She asked, her eyes that were once filled with joy now filled with disappointment. You took this as a good sign. It meant Raya was aware of her feelings for Namaari.
“U-uh yeah. She um...she’s not from Fang though. She’s actually from a different land. And she doesn’t know how to ask her out. Everytime she’s around her, she gets all shy and flustered and is horrible at flirting” you explained. Raya listened with a solemn look on her face.
“And um...I thought, maybe you could help her?” You asked. Raya sighed. “Well, if she really likes this girl, then she should just...take a leap of faith. Ask her out on a date. Maybe she’ll say yes. And if she does well..” Raya trailed off as she drew an unknown pattern on the wood with her nail.
“She’s a lucky girl I guess.” She finished as she sighed. You smiled. “Cool. Now, come with me” you grabbed the Princess’ arm. “Woah! W-what are you doing?” She asked.
You glanced back at her. “Helping Namaari ask out her crush” you responded. You dragged the princess back to the ball room where you saw Namaari standing and talking to your mother.
“Go!” You pushed Raya towards her who looked at you confused. “How are you helping her ask out her crush?” She asked. You chuckled. “Raya, you kill me. You are the crush dumby” you revealed. Her eyes widened in realization. You waved as you walked back to Boun and dragged him towards the scene.
“Um...C-Chief Virana, can I speak to Namaari?” Raya asked. The woman nodded before walking away. Namaari looked over at the Princess. “Hey. What’s going on?” She asked. Raya took a deep breath. “Um...your sister told me you have a crush on someone” she revealed.
Namaari’s gaze then snapped over to you, her eyes narrowed as she glared. You only waved back happily as you took a bite of food. Namaari sighed. “Raya, don’t listen to Y/N, she likes to gossip and-”
“I know the crush is me, Namaari”
“ohh...” Namaari pressed her lips together. Oh no, what was she going to say? Was she going to tell her she didn’t feel the same? Was she going to reject her and then she’d be too embarrased to come back to Heart?
“Look, Raya I-”
“I feel the same” Namaari’s eyes widened as she looked at the girl in front of her. Raya had a small smile on her lips and a hint of pink painted her cheeks. “Y-you do?” Namaari asked. Raya laughed. “Yes! I know, I was being kind of oblivious all night. But...yeah. I feel the same.” She confirmed.
Namaari so badly wanted to kiss the Heart Princess but not here in front of everyone. She then smirked. “Let’s...let’s head somewhere private” she offered. Raya giggled as Namaari grasped her hand and dragged her away.
You watched in shock as they did. “Well, that escalated quickly” you commented. “What did?” Boun asked as he appeared next to you, a plate of shrimp in his hand.
“Nothing” you lied before stealing a shrimp and continued your night.

Forever standing by the fact that Namaari fell first and Raya fell harder:
12 year old Namaari, eating snacks with Raya and thinking: wow, she’s so pretty. Her smile is adorable. And she’s hilarious! We even has the same interests! Raya’s the best
12 year old Raya, proudly holding up Tuk Tuk for her to see: isn’t he the cutest thing you’ve ever seen?
Namaari, internally: no, you are
Raya, yawning: hold on, I need to find my Ba real quick. I’ll be back!
Namaari, watching her walk away: I am crushing on her so bad right now. I really hope she doesn’t get hurt when I have to take the gem
*several years later*
Raya, about two years after the Druun disappeared: and then Noi spilled it all over the place! I can not take that kid anywhere
Namaari: *laughing so hard she snorts a little*
Raya, internally: I wish I could hear her laugh forever. She’s so gorgeous. I love everything about her. I just love her……..*realization happens* WAIT-
Namaari, noticing panic overtake Raya’s face: hey dep la? Are you okay?
Raya, internally: TOI SHE CALLED ME DEP LA WHY IS MY HEART FLUTTERING?! I LOVE NAMAARI? THIS IS THE WORST THING IVE EVER EXPERIENCED!
Namaari, gently shaking her: Raya, snap out of it!
Raya, whimpering: my life is ruined
Namaari, stressed: what? Why?
Raya, realizing she can’t tell her why and now sobbing: b-because it is!
Namaari, confused: uh, would you like a hug?
Raya, sniffling: yes please
Namaari, hugging her close: don’t worry dep la, I’m sure it’s going be fine
Raya, hugging her tightly: it’s really not but I appreciate your support. Anyways, where are the shovels?
Namaari: in the shed in front of the garden, why?
Raya, stomping off: SO THAT I CAN GO DIG MY GRAVE!
Namaari, already running after her: RAYA NO-

Raya in denial about her feelings for Namaari
Here you goooo Rated M
It’s just sex.
It’s not anything.
Raya repeats this again and again in her head when they’re together like this. In the dead of the night, the heat of summer, writhing against one another’s naked form. Panting, breathless, between kisses that are far too messy to belong to ‘just friends’.
Namaari’s fingers are inside her, claiming her again as she’s done for nearly a month now. Her body God-like as it cants in unison of her pistoning fingers, Raya’s hands gripping her waist as she rocks herself up into her. The friction is slick, wet, it’s making her stomach dip and her head fall back in such a way that she never knew was possible. She’s begging for more, her body needs this. Namaari needs this, they both can’t seem to make it a day without their hands on each other.
But it’s just sex.
It’s not anything, Raya reminds herself.
There’s no feelings between former friends turned enemies turned friends again. It’s too complicated, it’s too new and painful to call it what they both know what this is. To say that all this time they’ve had something far deeper between them than their anger, their mistrust, their bantering and petty jabs at one another. To acknowledge the deep-set ache in their hearts would be to acknowledge that somewhere along the last six years they got it completely wrong. That the chasing and fighting were so much more than just that, it was concern and it was hope and it was hiding something that neither were brave enough to admit.
God forbid they ever admit they were wrong.
They already did it once with the dragon gem, and that was in the case of the world literally ending. Here and now, it felt so much more heavier, riskier and painful to say they were wrong about the other. To admit feelings that were good, to show the others something real had come between them. Something had changed. Something had happened. Something was different.
But, again, to admit it was something would admit that it was anything.
And it was nothing.
It was just sex.
It was just a release. It was them fighting late on the training grounds, the air charged and their bodies electric as they tossed and tumbled along the ground. Namaari slammed back into the dust, Raya pinning her to the ground. Frozen, catching their breath, and then it was Raya who got the wind knocked out of her as Namaari gained the advantage when she pushed Raya onto her back. Hair tossed, eyes blown wide, until they screwed tightly shut when their mouths slammed together into a heated kiss. Namaari taking her right there and then, Raya’s cries of pleasure echoing into the late night air when she entered her for the first time with her long thick digits. Raya’s first kiss upon her lips and her first taste of cum when they later fell into Namaari’s bed. Her jaw aching the next morning from pushing her tongue deep inside her, wanting to memorize the feeling and taste of being in between her legs.
It was just quick little touches behind closed doors, fumbling with belts and fabric, pushing down into drenched folds and hearing each other’s names against their ear. It was just hidden bite marks, just a shiver that ran down their spines, just a hushed whisper behind closed doors. It was just a weekend trip when Raya could no longer stand to survive on only memories, fingering herself when she wanted Namaari. Imagining she was the one fucking her roughly into her bed, making her cum spill, her body warm and so satisfied. Lies told to family, friends, anyone who noticed their absence and wondered where they had gone off to; playful jokes being mentioned that both Namaari and Raya would roll their eyes at. Acting as if they hadn’t just finished each other off before returning back to the public eye. Back to where things were normal, without the weight of this confusing transition they were in.
That same transition that hit them seconds after their release, the steady moments of their bodies going from the euphoric feelings that came with a climax to that of acknowledging the feelings in the air. Seeing what they’ve done to each other, what had been done to them, and the shame that followed it.
Not for what they felt, but what would happen next.
One of them would leave.
Today it was Namaari.
Raya laid on her side, staring out towards the view from her window as she heard Namaari gather her clothing that Raya had torn off her hours before. Dressing quietly, carefully, as if at any moment either of them could break the silence and they’d have to come to terms with everything. The things they had done to one another, the feelings that were so obviously there, hidden behind their lust, Raya’s pride of wanting to be right and Namaari’s fear of rejection. To speak would be to admit that they cared, to linger here in this place any longer would show that their feelings ran deeper than they would ever admit, to fall asleep in each other’s arms would be showing that this was way more than just nothing.
But it was nothing.
It was just sex.
Raya kept telling herself that.
Especially when she felt the bed dip, Namaari’s finger moving to tuck her hair back behind her ear and kiss her temple. Not a word, not a sound from her lips, yet the act shook Raya down to her core with the loudness of it.
The way it said this was more than just nothing.

Namaari and Charanya finally come to an understanding:
Raya, throwing Charanya and Namaari in a closet: that’s it! I’ve had it with you both! You are going to talk about whatever it is going on with you two!
Charanya, whining: cmon, Raya! Baby, don’t leave me with your stupid best friend!
Tien, sighing and locking the closet doors: I’m sorry, love, but it must be done. You guys can barely be in the same room without causing a scene! So you two will remain in this closet until you can find common ground!
Namaari, frowning: this is so unnecessary just let us out of here!
Raya: nope not until you two reconcile! We will be waiting for you!
Charanya, sliding down the wall and sitting on the floor: this is probably the worst thing that’s ever happened to me
Namaari, scoffing: for once, I agree
Charanya, rubbing her temples: alright we both clearly want to say things to each other and who knows, maybe it’ll actually help my urge to hit you with a brick every time I see you
Namaari, sighing: whatever. Since you’re loving this idea, you can go first. Lay it on me, gremlin
Charanya, frowning: fine. I just…..I worry about Raya okay?
Namaari, confused: oh?
Charanya, closing her eyes: For the longest time, she was all I had. Obviously I had Tien later on, but I never needed to worry about her. Tien had a roof over her head and parents to look after her. Raya was always running around who knows where all by herself. I just wanted her to be safe. And for about six years you and Raya being safe were NOT the same thing
Namaari, nodding: yeah I can definitely give you that. The guilt kind of crushed me back then so I kept on finding Raya in an attempt to ask for forgiveness. And then she, ya know, started committing crimes so I kind of HAD to go after her and well….it was all such a disaster
Charanya, laughing: that’s one way to put it. I just can’t stand the thought of Raya getting hurt again which is why I’m always giving you a hard time. Even though Raya is older, taller, and stronger then me, I still want to make sure she’s okay
Namaari, smiling slightly: I get it. My own worry about Tien is actually why I’m at your throat
Charanya: oh? Do tell
Namaari, shrugging: Tien’s a great girl. Lot of people like her, even love her. She never really got it until she met you. Toi, she was a babbling idiot for weeks after meeting you
Charanya, giggling: really???
Namaari: oh absolutely. It’s also why it hurt her so much seeing you flirt with other people. Only recently did she find out you were just trying to get by, but at the time it seemed like you were using her like everyone else. It pissed me off
Charanya, rubbing her shoulders: yeah, I’ll be the first to admit my methods weren’t the best. I didn’t even consider the thought that Tien would actually like me back, so I just did what I had to. Had I known, I would have done things way differently
Namaari: I would have done a lot of things differently in the past, believe me
Charanya, gasping quietly: Namaari…are we having a moment
Namaari, laughing: I think we are
Charanya, smiling: okay, I think we can both agree that as long as we don’t hurt the other’s best friend, we can find peace
Namaari, nodding: I agree
Charanya, spreading her arms for a hug: bring it in, binturi
Namaari: *rolls her eyes and hugs Charanya*
Charanya: just so you know, I still think you’re an undercut menace
Namaari, snorting: and I know you’re a bite sized binturi
Charanya: I’m okay with that! Alright girls, we made up! You can let us out now!
Sisu, swinging the door open: GUYS HELP
Namaari, worriedly: Sisu what’s wrong?
Sisu, pointing behind her: see for yourself!
Raya, screaming at the top of her lungs: WHAT NO NAMAARI IS THE BEST GIRLFRIEND EVER
Tien, also screaming: SO UNTRUE WORSTIE CHARANYA IS DEFINITELY THE BEST GIRLFRIEND TO EVER EXIST
Raya: YOU TAKE THAT BACK-
Namaari, face palming: oh sweet spirits
Charanya:…..you wanna grab a snack and retell embarrassing stories about them for blackmail material?
Namaari: lead the way my newly found friend, lead the way

Camp Chaos
(See the description if you’re confused I put it under the Camp Chaos tag)
Part 1/5
Raya groaned at the beeping of her alarm clock, effectively waking her up. There is truly no sound more hideous than that of an alarm. Despite every instinct in her body screaming at her to snuggle back into the blankets, she walks out of bed to put on her clothes for the day. ‘Maybe staying up until 3:00 am wasn’t the best idea,’ Raya thought absently.
Benja was already making breakfast for the two of them. The delicious smell was making Raya’s mouth water in anticipation.
“Morning, dewdrop! Are you ready for the first day of camp?” Bejna asked brightly. All he got was a groan in response. He laughed and served the exhausted girl her breakfast.
“Maybe if you weren’t up all night playing Mario Kart on your phone, you would be a little more awake,” her ba laughed. “But Ba! You don’t understand! I had to finish the courses!” Raya exclaimed in her defense.
“Oh so you have time to finish Mario Kart courses but no time for driving courses? Interesting, ” he grinned. Raya pouted as she finished her breakfast. “I’ll wait for you in the car. Hopefully by then you can stop being so RUDE to your only child!” she exclaimed, stomping into the car. She should probably start working on that driver's permit soon though.
Raya fell asleep on the ride over so it felt like no time had passed when they arrived at camp. Raya leapt out of the car immediately to find her only joy in this nightmare, her best friend Sisu. Raya was able to spot her light blue hair from a mile away, and walked over to greet her. And by greeting her, she meant collapse on her.
“You were totally up all night playing Mario Kart on your phone, weren’t you my ray of sunshine?” Sisu asked while laughing. Raya whined and buried her head further into Sisu. “You don’t realize the addiction Sisu, I was too invested!” Raya replied. Sisu cackled and brought a comforting hand on her friend’s shoulder.
“Well are you ready for camp? You have first grade girls right? They’re usually pretty cute and there’s only six of them so you shouldn’t go too insane,” Sisu attempted to comfort Raya. She nodded in response. “I forgot what group you have, remind me who you got,” Raya told her blueberry bestie. “I have third grade boys this year,” Sisu said happily. Raya couldn’t help but snort at that response.
“Yeah good luck with that. Let’s hope they don’t make you cry this year,” Raya laughed. (this actually happened the year before last a close acquaintance of mine was literally crying and so was the other counselor and JC I felt so bad for her but it was so funny)
Sisu laughed and shook her head. “That won’t happen this week Raya! I’ve got a good feeling about this group!” Raya rolled her eyes at that. “You say that about every group, Sisu,” Raya chuckled. Sisu nodded in agreement. “And I’m always right. Now let’s head down to the ampitheatre, the kids are going to get dropped off soon,” Raya nodded and followed Sisu out of the cafeteria and down to the ampitheatre.
“Oh I need to tie my shoe real quick, I’ll meet you down there” Raya told her. Sisu nodded and walked on by herself. Raya bent down and tied her shoe when she saw a shadow cast over her.
“Well would you look at that. Camp hasn’t even started and you’re already on your knees. Funny how that works isn’t it?” Raya knew that voice. She dreaded hearing it. It was the voice of Namaari.
Raya took a deep breathe and finishes tying her shoe. “Oh I’m sure you’d love me for me to be on my knees wouldn’t you binturi?” Raya asked, smirking. She knew how to push Namaari’s buttons like no other. And she would say whatever it took to get her through this week.
Namaari scoffed and rolled her eyes, irritation clearly spiking. ‘Good,’ Raya thought. ‘That’ll teach you, you beautiful binturi- wait did I just think beautiful? You know what that’s a problem for another day’ she thinks and mentally erases the thought from her brain.
“I don’t even know if you’re capable of watching your language long enough to take care of these kids,” Namaari said once she recovered from Raya’s jab. Raya scowled and started moving towards where her group is supposed to be. “I’m perfectly capable of taking care of a small group of six year olds” Raya snarked back. Before Namaari could try to correct her, the kids came rushing in and they both had to put on their counselor acts on.
Raya had six first grade girls in total. The first portion of the day went on without a hitch. The girls were still a bit shy, but slowly warmed up to each other over the first couple of hours. By the time it was lunch, they were excitedly talking about going to the pool right. Raya couldn’t help but smile at their innocent and positive energy. “Alright girls, let’s head down to the pool,” Raya said, gathering their attention.
On of Raya’s campers noticed Raya wasn’t wearing and bathing suit, “Raya where’s your bathing suit?” Raya shrugged and simply stated that she wouldn’t be swimming because of the cold weather. She gathered the little girls to head down to the pool and waited outside the gates when she heard the most annoying voice in all of Kumandra speak.
“Where’s the bathing suit Raya? Scared of a bit of water?” Namaari teased, arriving with the first grade boys. Raya mentally groaned at her arrival. Of course this binturi was going to ruin her vibes. “I am not SCARED of the water it is freezing out here! I don’t understand how you can stand to be in a bathing suit right now,” Raya said, rolling her eyes.
Namaari just smirked. “Just one more way I’m better than you, dep la,” she said, obviously taunting Raya. Raya scowled and turned to her JC. “Watch the kids, I’m getting my bathing suit” she snapped. The little girls cheered as Raya rushed off to change.
Raya couldn’t help but stare at Namaari’s muscles being shown through her bathing suit. Raya was very smug to see Namaari checking Raya out in her bikini. Neither called the other girl out on their staring and just admired the view.
After playing mermaids with the first grade girls, one of Raya’s campers decided to wake up and choose competition because she yelled with no hesitation, “I bet Raya is faster at swimming than Namaari!” The girls obviously back her up while the first grade boys argued that Namaari was the superior swimmer. “Only one way to find out. Care for a friendly challenge Raya?” Namaari asked, grinning in an almost wicked way.
Raya rolled her eyes but nodded anyways. “I just hope you won’t be too upset when you lose, dep la,” Raya giggled. Namaari smirked and simply lined up on the wall.
A little boy form Namaari’s grouo started the count down. “Three, two, one, GO!” and the two were off, swimming with all their might. They were neck and neck, when suddenly a floaty landed right in front of both of them, blocking their path to the end of the pool. Their campers groaned at the abrupt end of the race when the life guards blew the whistle to signal everyone to get dried off.
“Saved by the whistle, weren’t you Namaari?” Raya asked grinning. Namaari snorted and rolled her eyes. “If anyone should be thankful for that bell it should be you Raya, I was about to win that race and you know it.” They continued their bickering until they walked back to their cabins.
One of the little girls grinned mischievously at Raya which made the eighteen year old girl feel very nervous. “Soooooo Raya, do you have a crush on Namaari?” She asked giggling. Raya gaped at the child with burning red cheeks. “I absolutely do NOT LIKE NAMAARI-“ she yelled in her defense as the girls kept on yelling how she totally did like Namaari. Raya groaned and thought of a way out of this mess.
“Who wants to go to arts and crafts?!” Raya yelled. The girls cheered in excitement and raced off to make some crafts. After the excitement of crafts, Raya rallied the girls to get their stuff together and head home for the day.
Once all of the children had gone, Raya crawled into Sisu’s car and whined, “Kids are such a handful I don’t know how I’ll survive four more days of this.”
“You’re just mad because a bunch of first graders called out your crush on Namaari” Sisu grinned. Raya bolted up right in her seat and friend at her blue haired buddy. “I do not have a crush on Namaari! I don’t know where those kids could have possibly gotten that idea,” she snapped.
Sisu nodded reassuringly. “Whatever you say Raya, whatever you say. Let’s go back to my place and eat some ice cream. You’ll feel better afterwards.” All Raya could do was nod in agreement and get whisked away to Sisu’s place. Raya closed her eyes and listened to the music blaring from the car, praying with all her might that the week will end before she strangled that stupidly attractive binturi.
(Guys I really hope this is adequate I am EXHAUSTED so I made so many spelling errors I promise I’ll fix them tomorrow but tonight I am hitting the hay I shall see you guys later)

New chapter
New chapter to the Raya older brother one shot series (idek)
Avengers: Endgame AU. Hardest thing to ever write.
https://archiveofourown.org/works/31347410/chapters/77602862
It’s been 5 years. 5 years since the snap happened and everyone has disappeared, including their ba. Namaari survived the snap, but lost her mother to it. Since then, Namaari and the Heart prince and princess have done whatever they could to find a way to bring them back. Which meant going back in time.
It sounded crazy, however, when Tony sent a letter to them that he had found a way to go back in time to save everyone, they went over as fast as they could. Everyone split up in teams, Namaari was going with the others to New York, and Quan and Raya were going to get the soul stone. However, Nebula left out one detail.
Now, they were standing at the edge of the cliff after red skull explained to them that one of them needs to die in order to obtain the stone. Raya sat on a rock; her knees pulled to her chest while her older brother leaned against a wall. They were thinking. One of them had to die, someone was going to get hurt in the end anyway.
“So... In order to obtain the stone, one of us has to-”
“Yes, Raya.” Quan interrupted his younger sister when she spoke up. She was a woman now, her hair a little longer and no longer in it’s one braid parted in between her hair, but now to small French braids against the side of her head while the rest was down. She never grew taller mind you, even after everything. Quan looked exactly the same, but felt older.
“But if we don’t get that stone, millions of people stay dead” Raya murmured. “I guess we both know who it’s gotta be” Quan said as he leaned off the wall and stood on his two feet.
“I guess we do” she responded as she stood up and walked over to her brother. “For the past 5 years, I’ve waited for a moment where I could bring everybody back. Where I can bring our ba back. And now it’s-”
“Don’t start getting all decent on me now, short stuff”
Raya chuckled lightly at the name. “I’m only like two inches shorter than you” she commented. The nickname stuck with her since she was only a child, when Quan would go after her for being short, which invented the nickname.
“You think I wanna do it?” She spoke softly, looking up at the other. Quan sighed. “Raya, you know what I’ve done. I haven’t been the best person or brother. A-all those times...”
Raya spoke up. “Good thing I don’t judge people at their worst. Because I’ve done some crappy things too brother, I’m trying to save your life you idiot”
Quan shook his head. “Maybe you should judge me-”
“You didn’t” the words hung in the air as the cold breeze flooded through, making Raya’s curly hair dance and making her look almost angelic. Quan quickly brought her into a hug.
“You’re a pain in my ass, you know that?” He murmured into her hair. Raya chuckled. “It’s my job” she murmured into his shoulder. They pulled apart, but still holding each other as they looked at one another. They leaned forward so their foreheads touched.
Quan pulled away. “Okay, you win. Again” he said, recalling all the fights and arguments they had growing up. Raya chuckled before walking to the edge, but barely 2 steps in, Quan shoved her onto the ground, making her yelp in surprise.
“Tell ba I love him” he said but Raya did the same thing and tackled him to. “Tell him yourself” she said before running. Quan groaned before grabbing his father’s sword and whipping it so it wrapped around Raya’s ankle and pulled her onto the floor.
He quickly dropped the weapon and began running towards the cliff, glancing at Raya’s shocked face before jumping. However, mid-way, Raya tackled him and used her father’s sword to stab into the rock, and holding them both. She quickly stuck the sword handle onto Quan’s vest so it would hold onto him. He quickly grabbed her forearm to keep her from falling.
At this point, Quan was being held up by their father’s sword and Raya was being held by her brother. “Damn you” he panted as he glanced down at her. Raya looked at the bottom before looking up at her brother. “W-what about Namaari? She needs you” he groaned.
She shook her head. “She’ll be okay. She’ll have her mother back.” She paused before looking up at her brother and seeing a flash of their father for a moment. She swallowed the lump in her throat. “Let me go...It’s okay” she whispered. A tear escaped Quan’s eye. “No. I-I'm not letting you go” his voice cracked. He already lost his father; he wasn’t losing his baby sister too.
“I know, we’ve had our differences. But just know, you’re the best older brother any girl could ask for” she said, her voice cracking as tears streamed down her face.
Quan shook his head. “No. I’m not losing you. W-what about ba?” He asked. She smiled sadly. “He still has you. He’ll be okay without me.” she said softly.
“I love you, Quan”
He shook his head but Raya put her foot against the cliff wall and pushed herself so she fell out of Quan’s grasp and let gravity sink her down. “NO!!!” Quan screamed as he watched his younger sister fall. Raya watched as her brother began going farther and farther from her.
The fog disappeared and Quan was forced to see his younger sister on the ground, dead. She was gone. “Short stuff” his voice cracked before a bright light illuminated from the ground and flashed.
Quan opened his eyes, and saw he wasn’t on the cliff anymore, but back in the small river. He felt a weight in his hand and realized it was the soul stone. It glowed bright, almost mocking him. Because he knew he was basically holding his sister.
He punched the water below him as tears fell from his eyes. “I love you too” he whispered back, hoping that somewhere from the abyss she could hear him.
Bonus scenes:
When everyone appeared back, they all glanced at each other. “Did everyone get it?” Tony asked. They nodded. Namaari was practically jumping with joy until she noticed Raya was nowhere to be seen.
“Where’s Raya?” She asked. Quan avoided her gaze before opening his palm and showing the orange stone. Namaari stood in confusion for a moment until realization hit her. “No,” she whispered, feeling her legs go weak and almost felt her soul break.
“No!” She exclaimed as she fell to her knees, feeling Nebula’s hand on her shoulder. “I’m sorry” Quan whispered. Namaari stood on her feet, even though she felt like falling, and stormed off the platform, making sure to grab her weapon.
“No!!” The others listened with a broken heart as Namaari screams echoed down the halls, hearing as she threw things and practically broke everything in her way, and Tony didn’t even stop her, knowing how hard it is to lose someone you love.
*
“Do you think she knows we won?” Quan asked. It happened. They defeated Thanos, and brought everyone back, Including his ba. Having to break the news to his father that his youngest died to save him, was the hardest thing he had to do. Watching his father’s eyes widen and watched as the man fell to his knees.
Now, here they were. A funeral for Tony and Raya. “I think she knows” he responded. “I’m sure” they both turned to the voice and saw Namaari standing behind them.
Quan gave her a small smile when he felt his father’s hand on his shoulder before he walked away, leaving him and Namaari alone. They glanced at each other before she stood next to him.
They were quiet as the petals from the trees fell onto the water. Quan glanced over at the Fang princess as he noticed she was playing with a silver ring that had a small diamond. “I was going to propose..” she whispered.
“Of course,” she continued. “I was going to run it by you. I was going to propose after they whole thing was over, but...” she trailed off as she glanced at the small piece of jewlry. Quan took her hand in his in a reassuring manner. She looked up at him in surprise. “I’m sure she would’ve loved it” he whispered. He quickly pluched a pink flower from the bush. Namaari handed him the ring, and he slid it on the stem of the flower.
“She knows you loved her” he said. Namaari smiled slightly. “Same with you. Even though you guys fought all the time, I know you loved each other” she responded. They then looked out onto the flowing river as a cool breeze danced in the air, letting the scent of flower hit their noses.
They didn’t know how, but they knew that she knew that they won.
She knew.

NEW
Hi! New chapter to Raya and her brother one shots!
https://archiveofourown.org/works/31347410/chapters/78423545
8)
6 years. 6 damn years since the gem broke, since the Druun got released into the world. Since Namaari betrayed Raya and caused her father to turn into stone. Their father.
Quan and Raya were in the world alone. They only had each other, and Tuk Tuk of course, but they were alone. They felt alone, no warmth only each other's and even then, they drove each other crazy having to see each other all the time, yet they knew that if one of them were to be turned to stone, they would lose it.
That’s how it is now.
“Here” Quan’s voice rung in the air. Raya glanced at her older brother who had a map in his hands. He then pointed down at a river that was hidden in shade under s tree. The princess bit her lip before looking back at him.
“You sure?”
“I don’t know”
They found themselves walking down the hill with a tired Tuk Tuk with them. They needed to get down there, not just for water but to see if this is it. If they could find Sisu, and stop the Druun.
They then heard a Druun screech from far off. Raya felt a hand on her forearm. “Stay close” her brother whispered and she obeyed. They walked down to the river that danced under the sun, making it look like a river of diamonds instead of water.
Raya quickly got to her knees and took out the Fang scroll her and her brother stole from the royal library and laid it on the sand as Quan laid out the offerings on the ground before Raya took out the Sisu pendant.
As she did, she stared at the jewelry with a broken expression. This small little thing caused so much and anger in her heart. Quan’s hand laid on hers as he guided it down to the cup and laid it there. Raya looked at him, telepathically thanking him before he took out the water holder and dipped it into the river stream and pouring it into the cup.
They sang the song that would summon the dragon, the last of hope leaving their bodies as they did. The last drop fell into the cup, filling it to the top as they sat in silence.
Nothing.
Again.
“Fuck!” Quan yelled as he stood up, running a hand through his short hair. Raya stayed quiet, staring at the water as tears filled her eyes. “This is all my fault” she whispered. Quan groaned.
“It’s not-”
“It is! If I hadn’t showed Namaari where the damn gem was, we wouldn’t be in this position. The world wouldn’t be broken, ba wouldn’t be stone, we’d still have everything” she began to sob, body collapsing against the ground as she felt guilt and numbness take over.
Quan watched with a tearful gaze. There wasn’t a single night that went by where Raya didn’t cry. Whether it was quietly crying when she thought Quan was asleep, or waking up from a nightmare about that day, and sobbing, blaming herself for their father's ‘death’. And Quan had to coax her through the entire thing, rubbing her back or just whispering reassurances so she didn’t lose hope.
But now, he was feeling the same. He was losing hope slowly. They were never going to fix the gem, Namaari wouldn’t stop chasing his sister, the Druun were never going to leave,
They were never getting their father back.
Suddenly Tuk Tuk jumped when Quan looked up and noticed a Druun hovering over his sister. “Raya!” He exclaimed. Said girl looked up and noticed the monster and jumped back. She scrambled to grab the gem piece but her satchel had fallen somewhere.
“Shit!” She cursed when she couldn’t feel it. She tried getting up but tripped over a small rock and making her fall on her stomach. “Ah!” She yelped. She stood up but was shoved out the way and onto the ground.
“What-” she turned and saw something she always asked Sisu to never let her see. There, stood Quan. Stone. His hands cupped and looking down. Raya quickly found the gem piece that was on the floor and shoved it to the Druun’s face as it screeched and left.
She carelessly threw the gem onto the ground and ran towards her brother. “Quan!” She exclaimed. She went in front of his tall form as she felt tears in her eyes. “No, Quan please” she began to cry as she grasped his stone hands. This couldn’t be happening. It was just another bad dream. Quan was gonna shake her awake any minute and comfort her before they fell back to sleep.
But it wasn’t. He was gone.
“No, no” she began to sob. She clutched onto his statue as she felt all hope leave. First her ba, now her brother. “I’m sorry” she whispered, her breathing was ragged and all she could taste was the salt of her tears.
3 days later...
3 days passed since she lost her brother to the Druun. She had set up camp where her brother’s statue was and stayed there, crying herself to sleep as she cried out for him. But she knew, he would want her to get up and keep going without him.
So, as hard as it was, she had to. She packed everything and gave her stone brother a kiss on his cheek, her heart breaking that she felt stone instead of flesh and left to finish their mission.
That’s how she found herself at different rivers. Different prayers for each one and tears. She let herself be vulnerable in each one, asking Sisu to help her.
Then, a week passed.
A freaking week.
She kept thinking about her brother’s statue. Was it still there? Did he magically come back? Did he wake up and be confused on why is sister wasn’t there?
Oh my- did it break?
She shook her head as she entered the shipwreck, praying that it wasn’t a bad sign. She quickly set her things up to summon the dragon before praying.
“Please Sisu. Help me bring my ba back. Bring my brother back. I-I promised him that I wouldn’t give up, but please Sisu, I’m beginning to.”
Then it happened.
She appeared. Raya felt so much hope fill her heart again. She did it. If only he was here to see. They made their plan and went to find the gem pieces.
But of course, Namaari came to play.
“What’s drippin’ dep la?” The princess asked.
She then noticed Quan wasn’t there. She was going to ask but the broken, hurt look in Raya’s eyes answered her question. He was stone. Because of her. Namaari felt a pang of guilt hit her gut. Raya lost everything, and here she was with everything she needed.
“Ahem. Anyway, I know you stole the scroll. Might as well give it back dep la” she continued, trying to ignore the voice nagging her in the back of her head. Raya smirked, but Namaari knew behind that smirk was a broken girl who just lost the very last thing she called family.
Then the chase started, all the way to ‘til they got to a boat where a boy named Boun was. With some talking and jade, they were finally on their way out.
*
“They took my family” Boun said quietly as they stared at the monsters that roamed the forests. Raya watched as he and Sisu placed a few flowers in the water. She walked over and gently threw two buds in the water, watching them join the others and float away.
Raya felt her heart break again, faintly hearing her brother’s voice in her head, telling her to not give up, that he’s with her even if she can’t see him.
*
She knew if Quan were here, he would’ve laughed at her for getting conned by a baby. “How would you even fall for that?” He would’ve asked through laughs and it would’ve ended in a yelp when Raya would punch his shoulder.
Now, she had a baby on her team. A baby.
Oh yeah, she could hear him laughing now.
As they sailed away from Talon, she couldn’t help but think about what would happen when they finally had all 5 pieces. Will Sisu know what to do? Will it work?
“Hey, what’s wrong?” Raya turned and saw Sisu looking at her with a concerned expression. Raya shook her head. “Just thinking” she lied. Sisu placed a heand around her shoulders and brought her in for a hug.
“Uh, what are you doing?”
“Hugging you. It helps” the shape shifting dragon answered. Raya chuckled before letting her head fall onto the others shoulder. She remembered when Quan would do this, when she had so much filling her mind and a hug just helped melt them away.
*
“I’ve tracked down Raya, she’s stealing gem pieces”
“Her and her brother?”
“No. Uh, her brother is gone. I’m guessing he got turned to stone”
Namaari answered the last part with a broken voice. Virana noticed her daughter’s mood change. “Morning mist, it wasn’t your fault. The Druun are out there and so is Raya and her brother, something like that was bound to happen” she said. Namaari’s head shot up as disbelief took over her features.
How could her mother say something like that? Raya’s brother was stone because of her. If she hadn’t betrayed the princess, they wouldn’t be in this position. No one would.
“Uhm. Anyway. I wanted to take the royal army and intercept Raya in Spine” she informed. The chief chuckled. “Sweetheart, if she is in Spine, there might not be much left of her to intercept” she said as she glanced at the model in front of her.
Namaari did the same before sighing. “But she’s out stealing gem pieces, we have to stop her” she said. Virana placed a hand on her shoulder. “Walk with me” she said before guiding her daughter out.
*
“You’re the only one here?” Raya asked as she stared at the all the statues in the village. “My people fought with all they could” Tong whispered. Tong was the man that captures both Raya and Sisu. However, Boun and the baby along with the Ongis came to save them.
Now, Namaari was here. She didn’t know how, but she was. “Look, I need your help. I need to make sure my friends are safe. Please” she pleaded. Tong looked at her for a moment before sighing.
He nodded.
Raya thanked the dragons before standing up and walking towards the door when she felt Sisu grab her shoulder. “You’re going to fight an entire army?” She asked. Raya shook her head.
“No. I’m just going to stall them. Once you guys are out, I’m out of there” she explained. “Are you sure you’ll be okay?” Boun asked looking up at Raya. She gave him a soft smile before ruffling his hair. “I’ll be fine kid. Go with Sisu and Tong, I’ll be okay” she said before grabbing her cloak and hat and running out the hut.
*
“Oof!” Raya fell the ground hard before glancing up at Namaari who had a smirk on her face. “What’s wrong dep la? Out of energy?” She teased. Raya was. She could barely move, all the energy in her body was drained and she just felt like falling and not getting up.
“Ugh” she groaned as she stood up. ‘Come on, do it for Quan’ the voice in her head chanted. “Nope. I’m fine” she lied as she fixed her posture before running at Namaari but the princess moved before throwing her legs around the girl’s neck and sending her backwards onto her belly.
“Ow!” Raya yelped in pain as she felt pain blossom on her chest and stomach. If only Quan was here, he would have her back. “No one’s here to protect you now” Namaari growled out as she walked towards the princess.
Raya felt anger bloom in her chest. She then turned to look at the princess. “Yeah, no one is. Because of you” she growled. Namaari’s facial expression went from smug to guilt. She was right.
Suddenly, fog filled the area causing the warriors to run in fear when Sisu appeared in dragon form. Namaari watched in shock as the dragon blew fire into the air, scaring everyone and even her.
Raya limped to the others that were standing by the gate. “Yup, she’s a dragon. Come on!” She said as she pulled on Tong’s arm who followed her.
*
“These are my brothers and sisters!” Sisu introduced as the princess behind her looked at them in awe. She never knew they were there. “I never knew they were here” she said as she bowed.
She couldn’t help but think of her brother. He was still stone, and they needed one more gem piece to find him. “And that’s Pengu. He’s our big brother” she said. Raya looked at him in awe.
“One thing we have in common. An older brother” she said as she watched the scene sadly. No one knew about her brother except for Sisu, seeing that she had told her when she found her.
“We’ll get your brother back. I promise”
*
“I have this obnoxious sister, who always tussles my hair” Boun then chuckled. “I can’t wait to see her the most” he smiled. Raya chuckled. She then spoke without speaking. “I have an older brother who’s always overprotective. Hmph. But I miss him” she said as she took a sip of her stew.
“Woah, you have an older brother?” Boun asked. Raya realized what she said. There was no going back now. “Yeah. He’s...he’s awesome. Granted, there are times where he can be annoying but that’s all siblings. We were together for a while until, well you know the Druun. And I’ve been trying to get him back. He’s actually the one who caused the slit on my eyebrow” she pointed.
Boun laughed. “What did he do?” He asked. “When I was 12 and he was 14, we were sparring together since our ba wanted to practice our skills, and one of his bamboo sticks flung out of his hand and hit me in the face, knocked me unconscious” she explained, a smile forming on her lips.
“And it cut you?” Sisu asked. Raya nodded. “Yup. I woke up and saw ba scolding him and then I realized I had a bandage on my eyebrow. I forgave him though, told him that it would make a mean battle scar” she said as she brushed her finger over the cut.
She then felt some hope bloom in her chest. She knew he would be proud of her for opening up to people again and letting people help her. “I miss him” she said the last part sadly.
“Well, when we win, you’ll see him again. I promise” Sisu said when a firework blew in the air.
“What does that mean?”
“It means we’re on”
*
Watching Sisu fall into the water with an arrow in her heart broke Raya’s world. This was it. Sisu was gone, so was her ba, and so was her brother. Everything. She really lost everything.
All because of Namaari.
She noticed Namaari was gone and felt anger bloom in her chest. She quickly grabbed a gem piece, her sword and left.
She didn’t care that the entire world literally and figuratively was falling apart. She didn’t care that people around her were turning to stone. She didn’t care that she left the others on land.
No, she didn’t care at all.
She stormed into the throne room, watching Namaari’s back muscles rise up and down from her breathing. “Namaari” Raya growled out. Namaari glanced at the princess. “Let’s finish this binturi” she said before taking out her swords and storming down the stairs, revealing her stone mother behind her.
Raya made sure that each hit, each blow was everyone she lost. Her people, her ba, and her brother. She then kicked Namaari to the ground. The pendant skidded across the ground before the Fang princess grasped it, holding it close to her chest.
“I didn’t mean for any of this to happen” she said, tears falling from her eyes. “Liar!” Raya exclaimed as she raised her sword. Namaari shook her head. “I don’t care if you believe me. Sisu did. But you didn’t trust her” she said, glancing back at the other princess behind her.
The words hit Raya’s heart like an arrow. She then glanced at her father’s sword. She was startled by the amount of hatred she saw in her eyes. Her eyes flashed for a moment, and she saw Quan’s before she saw hers again.
She knew what she was doing was wrong. Sisu wouldn’t want this, ba wouldn’t want this, Quan wouldn’t either, no matter how much anger he held for Namaari and Fang.
When Namaari looked behind her, Raya was gone.
*
“Then let me take the first step” Raya said before handing her gem piece to the other princess in front of her. Namaari looked at the gem piece in shock before looking up at Raya.
Raya gave her one last look before stepping back and letting the Druun take her. Namaari and the others watched in shock as she went from flesh to stone in less than a second.
Boun then stepped forward and handed her his piece before joining the princess. He clung to her waist before the Druun took him too. The others did the same, and Namaari watched in shock as they placed their trust in her and let themselves go.
She then noticed an opening. She quickly ran towards the light. But something stopped. She turned and saw Raya. She wouldn’t want this. She placed her trust in her.
She quickly got to her knees and dropped the gem pieces before placing it together, praying that it would work. She walked next to the princess before placing her hand on her shoulder.
*
When Raya opened her eyes, it was raining. Along with the rain, the sun was beginning to shine. She looked next to her and saw Namaari. The princess gasped for air before taking a few breaths and looking next to her.
Raya let out a relieved laugh before placing her hand on the slightly larger one on her shoulder.
“Woo!” Boun wooped before falling when his feet were turning real again. They all cheered in victory, until realization hit the Heart princess. “Quan” she said. Namaari glanced at her. “Huh?” He asked.
“Quan. Quan! M-my brother. I gotta go!” She yelled before trying to climb out of the hole they were in. Suddenly she felt herself being lifted and realized Tong was picking her up, seeing that she was petite compare to him.
“Go on” he said as he helped her up. She quickly turned and helped the others out. She looked and saw Tuk Tuk running towards her. “Tuk Tuk!” She exclaimed as he ran to her.
She bent down and hugged the pillbear before going to jump on his back. “We have to get to Quan!” She informed. “Let me go with you” Namaari requested as she walked towards them. Raya shook her head. “No, stay here and help with the others, I have to find my brother” she said.
Namaari nodded, knowing she wasn’t going to win this argument. Soon, Tuk Tuk rolled out of the ruins of Fang and towards the other sibling.
*
When Quan opened his eyes, it was daytime, and he was still under the same tree he and his sister were. He looked at his surroundings. No one was around, no Druun, no Tuk Tuk and no Raya.
He felt worry come over him. Where was she? Was she okay? Was she stone? So many thoughts ran through his mind before he heard the similar sound of Tuk Tuk rolling against the sand.
He turned and noticed the pillbear his sister rode and saw her. “Raya!” He called. Said girl’s eyes widened when she realized who it was. She stopped Tuk Tuk and quickly jumped off her ride before running to the other.
She ran as fast as she physically could before literally throwing herself at him. “Quan!” She yelled as she wrapped her arms around his neck. “Oh my gosh, Raya” he said into her hair as his grip around her tightened, as if he were to let go, she would disappear.
He then felt his shirt begin to get wet and realized it was her tears. He held her close as he ran his hands through her hair, the only sound filling the air was her cries of relief and his reassuring words.
Soon, they pulled away, Raya’s eyes red from crying. “You’re okay. W-what happened? Did you do it?” He asked, brushing a piece of hair from her eye. She nodded. “We did Quan. The Druun are gone.” She confirmed.
“Yup, and we’re back” a familiar voice filled the air and Raya turned in shock to see Sisu. “S-Sisu?” She asked in disbelief. The dragon was back, looking like she didn’t just die like 5 hours ago.
“The one and only” she said before opening her arms. The princess quickly sprinted to her and hugged the dragon. Quan on the other hand, was too shocked to do anything as he watched his sister hug the dragon.
Sisu glanced up and gasped. “Is this your brother? The one that gave you your eyebrow scar?” She asked. Quan blushed. “You told her that story?” He asked. Raya laughed. “Of course,” she responded before the dragon walked over to the older sibling.
He bowed before he found himself in an embrace. “You did good on your sister Quan. She’s told me a lot about you. You seem like a great brother”
“Yeah, when he’s not being annoying”
“Oh shut it” Quan responded before smiling at the dragon. Sisu quickly brought both siblings into a hug, both of them laughing in joy.
Finally, after 6 years, it was over and they had each other.
As long as they had each other.
If they had each other, they would be okay.
