I refuse to read the new book but what I'm hearing is that it's okay when the IC want to impulsively steal from another court which results in a death sentence, it's okay when both Feyre and Rhysand want to impulsively form pacts with ancient death Gods without consulting one another and treat it as a weird flirty gift???, it's okay for Cassian to impulsively murder the entire village where his mother was or whatever that was about, it's okay for them to impulsively tear down an entire apartment building to teach a lesson, Feyre and Rhysand made a life/death pact without consulting anyone- AND SO MUCH MORE because the IC is literally all impulse and no self control, but they're livid and hateful towards Nesta because she "did something impulsively". Okay Janet.

You ever just think about how N*sta thought about becoming a prostitute and/or begging for elaine but made excuses when Feyre asked her to chop wood and go absolutely feral? Me too.

Something about most art of Nesta being sexualized makes me so very sad for her. She's reduced to a sex object by a lot of fans and her own mate. Yeah you can be sexy and empowering at the same time but there's just this undercurrent that feels very much like she was hated when she was modest and private but now that she's a sexy hellcat she's badass. Nesta deserved to be courted properly with gifts and books and flowers and chocolates.

I know the whole book was fucked up but there's something just deeply evil to me about not even letting her have SUGAR in her oatmeal. It's been bothering me all day.

"morde you can't keep creating random sisters to ship Nesta with because you think it's funny" absolutely I can, what if cassian had a sister who stole his mate from him bc she could treat nesta better 🤷

"Cut her."
Two words, barely more than a whisper. Almost quiet enough to get lost underneath the crying and praying and pleading.
Almost, but not quite, all eyes in the room suddenly focusing on Rhysand with a mixture of emotions behind them. Shock, sorrow, outrage. But he didn't turn his own gaze away from Majda, who grimaced at his answer.
'Your wife, or your heir. You will not have both.'
"Rhys-" Mor began, discomfort palpable. He only held up a hand, however, silencing her easily. Tension lined his body- the scent of Feyre's blood would be saturated in the walls for weeks. They were on borrowed time.
"It's what she would choose. Our son is who she would choose. Cut her."
One beat.
Another.
Chaos, suddenly, the noise increasing tenfold as everyone fought to let their opinion be heard. Louder than all of that, though, slicing through the cacophony, was a snarl so vicious it sounded more animal than fae.
Elain.
Elain, not Nesta, had her teeth bared in a snarl, feet planted firmly in front of Feyre's birthing bed.
"You will not touch her."

I'm tired of books pitting female characters against one another and profiting off the drama it causes with readers.
Give me an ACOTAR rewrite where Nesta, Elain, and Feyre are a terrifying trio together. They fight, they don't get along all the time, but when Tamlin comes crashing through their front door, they'd sooner gut him than be separated. Tomas' body is hidden somewhere on their tiny plot of land, and men die all the same if you know where to make them bleed.
Give me an ACOTAR where Feyre sees how her found family decides to treat her blood family and doesn't stand for it. Where she rages at them for ever thinking they could send one sister away and lock the other up in a room for her "safety". She reminds them the it isn't just thanks to one Archeron that they won an impossible war.
Give me an ACOTAR where Mor doesn't hate Nesta because of a man she doesn't even want, but she understands her trauma and relates to her because they've both gone through horrible things at the hands of men with too much power. They clash and snipe at one another, it's a pain to be in the same room as them sometimes, but they both hold a silent respect for the other because a survivor always recognizes another survivor.
Give me an ACOTAR where Elain's personality doesn't change every book to suit the authors needs. She is still quiet and loves gardening because not every single woman has to be a warrior, but in her flowerbeds, poisonous plants sprout just in case. Because she'll never be held captive again. Because she hears and sees more than anyone expects, and no one ever thinks twice when she hands them a cup of tea.
Give me an ACOTAR where the Lady of Autumn actually has a name. Where we see how much she's had to sacrifice, including the supposed strongest bond a fae could have, and that she hasn't faltered through hundreds of years. An ACOTAR where Beron had to tie her to him with ancient magic because her own far surpassed his and that terrified him.
Give me an ACOTAR where Rhys' mother and sister are more than just "Rhys' mother and sister". His mother was trapped in a loveless marriage not just because of a mating bond, but because of the power of her new position allowing her to help other women like her. His sister scorned for being a half-breed like he is, but proudly showing off her wings to any Illyrian who claims she was underneath him.
Give me an ACOTAR that actually has complex female characters and relationships and isn't so horribly male-centered despite it's MCs always being women.

honestly i think if some fae man hundreds of years older than my baby sister with a wack ass power dynamic willingly and knowingly knocked her up in a dangerous form before she was even in her mid twenties after she said she wanted time up herself before having kids and didn't tell her anything about how the birth would kill her before it was entirely too late to do anything about it (literally like thirty minutes before the baby was born)
i would go to jail for murder

“You would choose me? Over your brothers, over your home, you would choose me?”
Nesta was trying and failing to put up her mask, the one that protected her from the world when all else failed, but even without it Rhaenys would have understood the meaning behind her words.
Over a year in Illyria, and she still didn’t think she was worth loving. That she was worth fighting for, worth dying for. She’d come so far, done so much good for others, had bled for strangers without thinking twice about it. And she still didn’t believe she would ever be someone’s first choice. It went unsaid,
’You would choose someone who’s own family wouldn’t choose them?"
Somehow, Rhaenys heart still managed to hurt for her, and she silently prayed to the Mountain Gods and the Mother for more time. A year, a week, an hour. She would take anything and spend it all making sure the fae cradling her broken body never doubted herself like this ever again.
“I would choose the woman who was willing to face ten Illyrian soldiers alone to protect a group of children no one else cared for. I would choose the woman who, before she hands me a drink, tastes it to make sure I would like it.”
She took in a shaky breath and reached up her hand to press tenderly against Nesta’s cheek. Blood smeared across pale, flawless skin, but there wasn’t a thing in all of Prythian that could make her beauty any less.
“I would choose the woman who snorts when she laughs and buries her nose so deep into a book sometimes, she doesn’t move from her spot on the armchair for hours. I would choose the woman who fights for another war she never had to step foot into because it was the right thing to do.”
Rhaenys’ thoughts were sluggish in a way she hadn’t felt in a long time, tongue tripping over itself in her haste to speak everything she wanted to get out. She was fairly positive that she was talking nonsense at this point, but it didn’t matter. If she was going to die, she would die with love on her lips and a certain female in mind. It was a better death than her first one.
“I would choose you, Nesta Archeron, because you are my home.”
