Ninjago dragons rising trailers + breakdown

I’m gonna put all the trailers and breakdowns of them, that are currently out here, if I miss any please let me know!

Spoilers below :)

Edit: the baby dragon is called Riyu, and I’ve misspelled Imperium as Emperium. Very sorry. This post is very long so I’m not changing it now, so just keep this in mind

Asterisks mean that the trailer was after the post was made.

A storm is coming. And nothing will be the same

Ninjago’s sky is a mix of deep pinks and purples, as a rift opens

The destiny’s bounty flies through the thick of it whilst a mech zooms around

Jay appears to be piloting the mech

The merging realms explode

It’s happening

This video is one scene, and it starts with Lloyd narrating.

The visuals are glowy and yellow tinted, and given that Lloyd is narrating, this is most likely a flashback.

Lloyd is walking into Wu’s study in the monastery and his narration says that Wu sent him to gather scrolls on “Coalescence” (meaning to merge elements to form one mass).

Wu murmurs about not understanding something and that “it’s been centuries”, before telling Lloyd that he hopes Lloyd will be a better master of the monastery than he was and to remember “Family is key”.

Lloyd then starts to protest that Wu has been here for almost a 1000 years but then the room shakes. Wu says that “it’s happening” and that they “needed more time to prepare”.

They run into the training yard where all the other ninja are looking up at the sky. The camera pans to the sky to show a rift opening and other worlds become visible. Lloyds narration says: “Then I saw the beginning of the Merge”.

The last clip is shows the destiny’s bounty and a mech flying towards Ninjago and the fragmented sky

Note: all of the ninja’s outfits are from the Core sets, which were Lego sets previously unconnected to the canon

This trailer features a voice over. The voice is either a new character or just a voice for the trailer (let me know if any of the new characters sound like this). The voice is low and gravelly.

The monologue is as follows: “Everything feels so familiar. And yet nothing is the same. New world have risen. And with them, grave new dangers. New heroes must rise to the challenge. Together, anything is possible. Together, we will rise!

The visuals depict quick clips of different locations which I will now list

0:00 Ninjago city, Borg tower can be seen. It’s daytime. Everything looks completely normal

0:02 the monastery and its hill. Daytime. Also normal looking. However the hill looks a little overrun by flora, and you can just see the roof is rusted and grassy

0:04 the monastery and training yard. Nighttime. Not normal looking. There are two moons in the sky, one silver and a larger red moon. Grass is growing from the roof, the training equipment is out and all the lights are on. A portrait of Wu can be seen on a wall

0:05 the Crossroads (that is what I will refer this area as). Nighttime. Looks like a market square with shops, vegetable stands, etc. There are lots of cars and vehicles as well as people. Mostly humans but a prime empire whack rat can be seen in the corner as well as maybe a serpentine and a pink person?? At the centre there is a large neon sign that reads “Cross Roads” in ninjargon text.

0:07 Postmerge Ninjago city. Nighttime. Has Ninjago city’s skyscrapers but now buildings in a noticeably different style (in this stacked like appearance, the roofing appears to be more makeshift) can be seen in the foreground.

0:08 Mech Race Course. Daytime. A neon (I don’t know what they call that thing that they put over the starting line sorry), those new houses can be seen but are much closer to the ground. The ground is sandy, and is filled with mech suits. People can also be seen in the background. Note: this area may be the same area as the cross roads area

0:10 Underground train line. A train goes very fast, and we can see warriors standing on top of it. I believe they work for Ras.

0:12 Dragon mountains. Possibly Dawn, the sky is light pink. We see the destiny’s bounty heading over to some mountains which appear to have pine trees, the ground is obscured by clouds

0:15 Blue Rocky Realm. This area is possibly the realm of Madness which was seen in season 1 when Wu ventured to find Garmadon. There are rocky creatures which bear resemblance to Craglings. We see a Cragling? which has a large crown-like formation on its head, accompanied by two other craglings?. The door appears to be opening to reveal the crowned cragling, this door being guarded by two cragguards. Everything seems to be illuminated by cyan pillars on the walls and cyan cracks on the rock surfaces as well as an orange glow from behind the crowned crag. Their eyes are also cyan which is different to the past craglings from s1.

0:17 the Cloud Kingdom. Seems to be Dawn, the sky is a lighter pink. We see presumably the destiny’s bounty fly to the cloud kingdom.

0:19 clip of young Arin watching the merge as debris flys around. The sky goes a deep pink as the merge begins over Ninjago city. This clip is seen in many trailers. Note: in one of the fragments of the sky, there is a giant dragon

0:24 Dragon Mountains. One of Ras’ warriors keeps a large dragon tied up, before Rapton rolls in on a vehicle, obscuring the shot. This area seems to be on a mountain, the ground is a brown and rocky, the sky is pink.

0:25 Dragon Mountains. possibly in the same episode as the last clip, the bounty is chased and attacked by flying vehicles, seemingly aligned with Ras and Rapton. The same mountains with pines are in the background.

0:27 tech?? Room. The room has a lot of black surfaces and neon patterns, possibly large circular designs/fans on the walls, glowing screens etc, desks. the neon colours are orange and cyan. We can see two characters facing away from us, a man with black hair in a purple suit and top hate holding a weird dodecahedron, the desk he’s at also has a screw driver. The other character is a woman with black hair in a bun (there are also grey streaks which are barely visible from this angle) (it is the same hair piece as Cole’s mother), wearing a white outfit with gold lines and a hexagonal emblem on the back (this design is also seen on a screen at the back of the room).

0:28 Postmerge Ninjago city outskirts. Ras plummets from a blue sky onto a road, wielding a hammer. The merged houses can be seen in the background. This road seems to be a bridge/highway and he has landed in between some cold guys (possibly his own warriors) and a mech (the mech is blue, white red and gold). Ras’ landing produces a shockwave that pushes the mech (containing sora), Arin (wearing Lloyds old hood) and a baby dragon back. Alongside the merged houses, we can see trees and skyscrapers in the background indicating this may be post merged Ninjago city.

0:31 possibly the Crossroads? We see the backs of Sora and Arin seemingly standing on a building looking into the distance. It’s nighttime. The buildings appear to be in a more traditionally Asian style, the building in front of the characters has cyan paper lanterns, whilst the building near it has a lot of satellite dishes. In the distance another building has a sign that I think says “3838” in ninjagargon, there are many trees, the ground seems to fade into clouds and in the distance is a city, involving a large tower that glows orange. Arin wears an orange hoodie that has his name written in ninjargon on the back, and Sora has cat girl headphones, a gold prosthetic arm and a white outfit with orange harnesses and a cat picture on the back. The cat has a mark on its head which might be a stylised ninjargon “S”

0:33 Cloud Kingdom. Appears to be morning. Two white dragons with cyan and gold detailing fly around the city (they appear to be ice dragons?). Destiny’s bounty can be seen in the background.

0:35 Dragon Mountains. Many grey dragons fly in the background as one with gold armour and green eyes lifts its head

0:38 Postmerge Ninjago city outskirts. Sora flies away from the bridge in the mech suit (the baby dragon is on its shoulder) pursued by Ras’ warriors on those flying vehicles. Rapton can be seen face down on the pavement. We can clearly see cliffs in the background as well as the merge houses, and graffiti on the bridge

0:42 Mech Race Course. Top down view of the race, we can see a crowd of watchers which include Ninjago humans, the pink person, orange and purple frog people?? Geckles and munce, a merlopian, a hypnobrai and possibly a skeleton, and a prime empire whack rat. We can see the mechs racing, and Sora is in 5th place. They race through a town not dissimilar to the clip at 0:31

0:48 some sort of junkyard at night. Dancing yellow robots. I love them. I want to be as gleeful as them

0:51 same shot area as 0:31? Continues to be night, depicts the same satellite house, we continue to see Arin and Sora’s backs, with Sora putting her arm on Arin

0:52 Dragon Mountains. The grey dragons are being pursued by Ras’ warriors, the large golden armoured dragon faces against Rapton

0:56 Blue Rocky Realm. Arin, Sora, and their baby dragon fight craglings somewhere seemingly outside. Arin also appears to be holding something

0:58 title card. Dragons Rising is written in gold text and the latter word is struck by some kind of lightning

This is a series of clips accompanied by dramatic music

I am not doing the time stamps anymore because that took a while sorry

the Crossroads. A different angle of the same market square. Still nighttime. We can see a car with a red circular drum going quite fast. Cuts to a shot of Arin and Sora walking casually through the street, Sora waving as she walks, Arin turns around as it appears the drum car is behind them. Aron’s hoodie has a dragon design as well as his initial in ninjargon, whilst it appears Sora has her name on her clothes as well as a cat key chain attached to her harness. She also has face marks and makeup

Arin bakes a pie and offers it to some sort of reptilian/amphibian guy who’s outfit includes bottles of potions. The shot with Arin seems to be in some sort of bar, as there are dart boards in the background. Lizard man seems to be in a storage room evidenced by crates. These crates have a an obscured word ending with “dy”. Aron’s pie is also blue.

Arin and Sora wheel Sora’s mech onto the mech race track. Other mechs can be seen. This is probably connected to the race. Sora seems to be doing some sort of repair/modification to the mech and the mech starts to stand up on its own. The last clip gives a more clear view of the houses

The baby dragon looks down from above, presumably on some rocks (this may also be roof tiles)

Lloyd also looks up from above a vent/trapdoor. The perspective is from inside a dark room lit by red neon lights. Lloyd carries his sword from s11. We can just make out Arin looking up to him before it cuts to Sora and Arin sitting handcuffed, whilst Arin holds Lloyd’s old ninja hood

Cuts to Lloyd grinning in the monastery training yard as he activates a button with Wu’s staff. The training equipment is activated and Arin, Sora and the baby dragon watch

Kai and Nya jump down onto the deck of the bounty. They also high five

Chasing the destiny’s bounty is Rapton on those hover vehicles

We see a smirking woman close a hologram screen of Ras. She is blonde, half her blonde hair appears to be shaved and the rest swooped to one side. She seems to be older looking judging from her eyes (or she’s tired idk) and she has gold markings on her head. She also appears to be wearing armour. She seems to be in the same tech room as the hexagonal emblem can be seen on a blue screen in the background

Sora is in her mech in the fight around the outskirts of the city when Ras jumps on her mech

A giant wolf/wolf mech, with glowing purplish bits jumps from the sky. This appears to be the village that the mech race takes place. Rapton is seen in the background

Another shot of the destiny’s bounty heading towards the dragon mountains. It cuts to Lloyd at the bounty’s helm as we see the bounty get carried by a dragon (possibly the gold armoured dragon). We can also see Arin, Sora and the baby dragon on deck

Lloyd fights one of Ras’ warriors in Sora and Arin’s prison cell. Sora and Arin are still handcuffed

Arin uses a golden coloured spinjitzu (it is also animated so that we can still see him as opposed to him just turning into a whirlwind), whilst wearing Lloyd’s mask. He kicks one of the yellow dancing robots in the face. It is nighttime and they appear to be in the same area as when the yellow robots first appeared (junkyard like)

Sora uses a pink/purple power that makes her hands and eyes glow to build her mech. She (as well as the baby dragon) are in the blue rocky realm/realm of madness

Nya jumps on the edge of the bounty as the white (ice?) dragons fly overhead (implying this is the same episode as when they are at the cloud kingdom.

The baby dragon climbs on the roof of a house, in the same area as the mech race track

Ras’ warriors capture the armoured dragon at the dragon mountains

The cloud kingdom appears the be attacked by a giant purple monster with tentacles and one big eye. Sora flies around in her mech which glows with her powers, Arin navigates the sky with a hook shot of some sort and lloyd flies using spinjitzu

The title shows and gets zapped by lightning before exploding?

It all started with the Merge

This episode features one scene narrated by Arin, as we see his backstory

“And that’s when it happened” a child Arin, in Ninjago city (or just a village near) looks on at the fragmented sky as the bounty appears to be pulled into the Merge

The realms appear to explode (as seen in A storm is coming)

“As I saw my small neighbourhood disappear and a new city show up on the horizon” Arin now stands on orange sandy ground, surrounded by patches of grass and a couple of leafless trees. We can see a different city with an orange tower in the distance (the same one from the Together We Will Rise trailer). It is daytime but two moons are visible.

“I realised I had witnessed the merge, firsthand” the screen pans around Arin and fades into a map of Ninjago

“The moment all the mysterious realms I had only heard about merged with Ninjago for reasons no one’s been able to figure out” more islands appear around Ninjago on the map

“I survived… but I was alone” Arin looks worried until a bench swing crashes from the sky behind him, startling him. Some of Ninjago city’s skyscrapers can be seen behind him

“My parents and everyone I ever knew had vanished” Arin turns to look at the swing.

Within the actual scene, young Arin calls for his mum and dad before seeing a seagull and then seeing and catching Lloyd’s hood

It then cuts to a quick clip of Sora, Lloyd, the baby dragon, Arin and Arin’s dragon (previously I thought this was kai but apparently I’m colourblind (/j) or something lol) jumping towards the screen (Sora’s powers are activated and she’s punching you). The sky is the same pink colour as when the merge happened

Rift opening clip, child Arin looks afraid as he watches the merge. Arin narrates “My neighbourhood was to be the very centre of the Merge”

A man walks down the street reading the newspaper, completely oblivious to the catastrophe. Arin’s narration continues “But back then, we didn’t know what to call it”

A bench swing flies away and Arin struggles to grip the ground and flies into the air, nearly getting hit by a flying car

Arin’s parents, struggle but seem to be grounded, his mum screams his name, Arin spins in the air

Kai throws a fireball, same clip from A storm is coming, Cole clenches his fists and activates his powers, Zane activates his (Lloyd is seen behind him) and so does Nya. Arin narrates “That’s when my heroes, the ninja, arrived”

Pans to Lloyd who says “Hey kid! You get lost?” As the music goes silent and Arin just stares at him in shock

Clip of the crossroads (the same one from Together we will rise). We hear Sora’s voice say “You wanna experience other places?”

Cuts to Sora and Arin looking around as she says “Look around!”. Due to her hand placement. This is likely the same scene as the clips from Together we will rise.

Camera pans to show Sora on one of the large building stacks (it has a sign saying 3838) as she says “why go anywhere when the best of all the realms have moved here to the crossroads” the camera pans onto a post merged Ninjago city, now known as the crossroads. This shot is also the same as together we will rise

Cuts back to Sora and Arin as she says “for example: me” before running off

Clip of young Arin catching Lloyd’s hood, as seen in It all started with the merge. The shot transitions from a close up of his child face to him in the present putting the hood on. Sora’s voice says “Change can be scary, but it’s also a chance for something better”

Arin strikes a pose on top of a mound of scrap metal garbage cubes as the music stops and dogs look at him awkwardly.

Sora, rooting around in the garbage behind him says “Arin. Not to insult the dreams of my best new friend but… you are so not a ninja”

Sora, the baby dragon and her mech fall presumably off of the cliffs where they fight Ras, and the baby dragon blasts light at Sora

In the same area Sora uses her pink powers to rebuild her mech. Sora’s voice over says “trust me. We have to stop them”. Arin is also falling alongside them

Sora’s voice over says “Arin! What would the ninja do” as we seen Arin sitting in a mech as he looks determined. It cuts to a clip of Arin trying to kick Ras whilst they’re still on the bridge. Arin starts saying “Hope is the only thing the Merge didn’t take from me”

Lloyd salutes to a past Arin whilst riding on the Bounty’s anchor as he, the bounty and Jay’s mech get sucked into the merge and we see the realms explode like the other clips

Sora says “Hold on!” As she pulls the handles of her mech and pulls off a large jump possibly in the mech race

Rapton disturbs the mech race to shoot lasers at the baby dragon

Cuts to Rapton talking to a holographic video call with Ras who tells him “Do not disappoint me”

Ras continues to say “these creatures are dangerous” as we watch a baby dragon fail to fly out of a box (they appear to be either in a train tunnel of the same facility that Sora and Arin were handcuffed in, and are surrounded by Ras’ warriors)

Same clip from Together we will rise, of Ras jumping from the sky

Arin uses spinjitzu to corkscrew from the sky (tall buildings can be briefly seen behind him)

Sora slams other mech racers in the race

Title. No lightning this time

New show… New villains!

Rapton and Ras’ warriors seem to be stationed at at some sort of underground train station. Rapton and Ras are having a video call

Ras asks “The capture was successful?”

Rapton answers “Of course! Transferral will begin first thing in the morning”

Ras: “your overconfidence is a weakness, Rapton. These creatures are dangerous”

Rapton: “trust me! This thing isn’t going anywhere, don’t worry Lord Ras”

Ras: “Do not disappoint me”

The video ends, and Rapton looks upset. One of the warriors walks up to him and says “Lord Ras doesn’t seem to have a lot of faith in us”

Rapton: “he’s too uptight! We’re the best there is at rounding up these animals”

Rapton, mimicking Ras: “Your overconfidence is a weakness”

Rapton: “ha ha! Let me tell ya! I’ve never even heard the word weakness”

Warrior: “really? It’s a pretty common word?”

Rapton: “no- I- *stutters* i mean- I just don’t know what that word means!”

Warrior: “seriously? I can explain! Weakness. Noun. The quality of”- Rapton kicks him.

Rapton says “go away” whilst walking over to one of the cargo containers. He says “This guy in here? He ain’t goin nowhere aint ya” and starts laughing

The screens show the same hexagonal emblem seen with a blonde hair gold face tattoo lady scene as well as the purple suit guy and black hair bun lady scene.

shot of the old normal Ninjago from Together we will rise. It cuts to child Arin play fighting with a broom on his fence gate as his parents watch. His parents cheer until the sky turns red as they look concerned. Arin’s voice over says “Remember when Ninjago was the only thing on the map?”

Arin watches the rift. Young Arin flies off of the ground, his mother calls his name, Lloyd salutes Arin, Arin catches Lloyd’s hood. A child’s? voice can be heard saying “the ninja risked their lives to save people during the merge. But now no one knows where they are”.

Cuts to probably Lloyd looking at a portrait of Cole, decorated with flowers

Shot of crossroad market square (same as together we will rise) and Sora and Arin make their way through. A man’s voice says “Sora! Arin! Always happy to (idk what he says here? “Beeve”??) you two”. Cuts to Sora and Arin wheeling Sora’s mech in the mech race village. The speech seems to come from a green frog/lizard guy

Lloyd looks down from a trapdoor in the neon red room(same clip as trailer 1…) where Sora and Arin are held prisoner, Arin excitedly exclaims “the green ninja!”

Lloyd says “the world has changed so much” this appears to be the same scene as the one featuring Cole’s portrait. Candles and flowers scan also be seen in this room. Children start to walk in behind him.

Arin says “you were meant to train us!”. The night sky can be seen

Arin and the dragon do push ups in the monastery training yard

Sora in the junkyard says “Arin you are so not a ninja” same cutscene as Change can be scary

At the dragon mountains, Arin loses control of his powers and slams into a tree and we hear him say “Dangit!” as Lloyd looks on. We can also briefly see one of Ras’ warrior vehicles head straight for Arin

At the dragon mountains, the bounty flies over, with Lloyd, Arin, Sora and the baby dragon on it. Lloyd says “they can’t do this alone”. It then cuts to Lloyd on the mountain saying “I need your help to save the world”

Arin jumps off of a scrap metal cube as Sora skids on her motorbike (which looks like it will become her mech)

Lloyd nods and says “we have training to begin”. This is incredibly reminiscent to Wu

Sora and Arin stand on the train and look behind them at Lloyd and Rapton fighting (same clip as the start of this trailer).

Arin stands proudly at the end of the training course in the monastery yard as Sora gets got by a swinging hammer

In the blue rocky realm/realm of madness, Kai says “oh hey Lloyd! Who are the kids?”. Lloyd looks at him unimpressed and a cragling stands behind them. Arin points excitedly at the fire ninja whilst Sora looks tired of Arin

Sora’s mech flies away from the bridge (Ras’ fight, same clip as together we will rise)

Clip of Arin, Sora and the baby dragon beating up craglings. Kai says “you baby sitting or something?”

Lloyd, Sora and Arin seem to be on the inside of Raptor’s train (possibly since they were in a cell) Lloyd says “it’s supposed to be impossible to learn spinjitzu by yourself”. Arin uses spinjitzu to fight one of Ras’ warriors, whilst they are on top of the moving train

Sora uses her pink powers on her mech in the crossroads city?? (There are fairy lights). It transitions to Sora using her mech powers in the blue rock/realm of madness. Lloyd’s voice over says “you definitely have an elemental power…”

Sora uses her mech to stamp on Ras’ warriors’ hover vehicles on the road where Ras fights them

Cuts back to Lloyd, Arin, Sora inside the train. Lloyd says “…connected to this little dragon?” As he pets baby dragon who stands at his heels

Cuts back to Sora at the crossroads city with the fairy lights. The baby dragon is pouring magic into her as the now angry yellow dance robots surround her. Baby dragon is also wearing a rug.

Shot of the blonde gold face marks lady marching with these warriors (they have one eye). Cuts to what appears to be an alleyway with a poster on the wall depicted said lady. Cuts to a dragon in a room glowing (implied that it’s power is being drained). Cut to the gold armoured dragon roaring. Cut to a blue and yellow (possibly lightning) dragon in a city? scaring people. Cut to the dragon mountains where Ras’ warriors are taking down the gold armoured dragon. Meanwhile the blonde lady monologues “Soon, Emperium will have enough dragon power to rule over all the merged realms!”

Clip of Rapton falling from the sky (same as together we will rise)

Arin, Kai, Lloyd, Sora in her mech and the baby dragon stand in a sandy village similar to the mech race, braces for a fight and Lloyd yells “let’s free that dragon!” Scrap metal cubes are seen behind them

Ice, fire, lightning and earth dragons are seen roaring from cells in the same style as Rapton’s train and all other Emperium infrastructure

An Earth dragon flies through the blue rock/realm of madness dodging a boulder presumably thrown by a cragling, the bounty is seen behind it

Sora, wearing a different, darker outfit, and having more face markings, with a dragon behind her, in a dark area, says “there’s more than one way to be a ninja!” Cuts to Sora in the blue rock/realm of madness, using her powers whilst in her mech, with the baby dragon on her mech’s shoulder. Lloyd, Kai and Nya stare up (also in the blue madness) (Note: Nya is in her core outfit, whilst Kai and Lloyd are in new outfits)

Kai screams “not fair!” As he throws a fireball whilst being chased by the wolf mech thing from trailer 1. This seems to be the same area as when Lloyd yelled “let’s free that dragon”. Also a container appears to have the word “container” written on it

Lloyd is yelled at by a red headed lady with a scratch on her face who shouts “talk! Barf! Fight!”. Lloyd looks similar to Sora’s different design, with face markings and the same dark cloths. In the background appears the be the body of an ice dragon whilst there appears to be another dragon just behind Lloyd and the lady

In the blue realm of madness, in the background Arin, Kai, Lloyd, Sora and the crowned Cragling watch as Nya (in the foreground) jumps and blasts something with water

Lloyd creates a giant spinjitzu tornado and sweeps many of Ras’ warriors on the dragon mountains. A woman’s voice (probably the redhead lady) yells “attack! Spare no one!”

The bounty is chased by Ras’ warriors near the dragon mountains

A giant tentacle eyeball starfish monster attacks in the cloud kingdom

Sora falls, along with pieces of her mech and Nya, in the blue rock/realm of madness, towards some fire breathing dragons

The wolf mech thing fights a fire dragon inside an Emperium area (probably, it is neon coloured and looks similar so). Rapton rides on the the wolf mech’s back.

Title card. It gets struck by lightning and explodes

More of a teaser trailer, it’s 20 seconds long with only a few unique clips

Starts by panning the camera around the desert where Arin landed in after the merge

Transitions to a new shot panning around an older Arin standing on top of the garbage dump and then a close up of his face

Then a bunch of clips from the merge, same as before other than two new clips of a man on his bicycle flying past a window and a seagull getting caught in the wind

Then it cuts to a clip of Lloyd, Arin and Sora in the dragon mountains, and Lloyd says (due to this being in french this is according to the yt translation) something like “the world has changed and it’s time to build a new future”

It then cuts to a golden poster featuring Lloyd, Sora, Arin and baby dragon, Riyu, the armoured dragon behind them, Sora’s mech and the dancing robots in the distance either side of them, and some of the crossroads houses.

I was gonna try to transcribe the lyrics I probably have auditory processing disorder I just replayed the start 5 times cuz I can’t understand shit sorry lol. I’m just going to move on and describe the frames. At this point we’ve seen most clips so I’m going to add (new) to every clip I recognise as being unique to this video

(New) close up on the side of Sora’s mech. From here we can see the paint is chipped, but the arm swings down with eagerness. The ninjargon on the arm reads “sora” whilst the markings on the leg appear to read “sa -mark- 01”. It is possible that SA stands for Sora and Arin, considering Arin probably had a hand in helping build the mech.

(New) Lloyd nearly crashes the bounty into dragon mountain (man never learnt how to drive, that was Nya’s job fr)

(New) Lloyd dodged an imperium warrior on dragon mountain, and creates the giant spinjitzu. This appears to blow away a weird bug-like device off of a subdued gold armour dragon.

Riyu blasts Sora with power whilst they fall from the bridge

During the merge, we see young Arin, Lloyd, Zane and possibly another civilian on the bounty. It zooms on zane using his powers before cutting to Nya, using hers, before cutting to jay in his mech

(New?)Whilst on the moving train roof an imperium warrior unsheathes their bald at Lloyd, Sora, and Arin

(New)Lloyd explodes into his super big spinjitzu

(New) on the moving train roof, Sora grabs hold of the imperium warrior’s blade and activates her powers on it and grins. Her powers apparently work on all technology, not just her mech

Sora beats up her competition in the mech race

Arin tries to kick Ras on the bridge, Ras races his fist to block it

(New) Lloyd catches a young Arin in the merge, and swings through the sky using a rope

(New) Arin dodges the lazer beams of the trash bots in the junkyard by swing on his grappling hook

(New) Kai and Lloyd watch as the merge opens up right over the monastery yard. This is seemingly present day as Lloyd has his new outfit, whilst Kai has his old one, implying he just joined the team

Observations so far:

This series probably starts with Arin’s backstory of the merge, and then him meeting Sora at the crossroads, where they look through rubble in order to find metal to modify Sora’s bike into a mech for the mech races. (The Ras and Rapton phone call probably happens here, just before the dragon escapes Rapton.) The yellow dance robots are probably supposed to be guarding the scrap and so attack Sora and Arin, who maybe cross paths with the dragon giving them powers, such as Arin’s spinjitzu and Sora’s mech powers (the scene where the dragon gives Sora powers in the street). They evade the dance bots and take Sora’s newly built mech to enter the mech race (they have to talk to the green lizard guy?). They enter the mech race but Rapton crashes it. Sora, Arin and the dragon are chased out of the race and onto the bridge where Ras appears and they all fall. The group then awaken on Rapton’s train. Lloyd shows up (might have something to do with the dragon) but he’s on the train and breaks everyone out and they escape. Everyone finds a memorial somewhere possibly in the bounty and are informed by children that the ninja were considered dead. Lloyd wonders what he should do and Arin says Lloyd should train them and so Lloyd trains them in the monastery. They then travel using the bounty to the dragon mountains and are saved by the dragons only for the dragons to be attacked by Ras’ warriors. Rapton defeats them, maybe due to Arin’s inexperience, and Lloyd asks Arin and Sora to help him save the world, now they have a better understanding of Rapton. The group start travelling to different realms, possibly to locate, protect/save the dragons there. This takes them to the realm of madness where they find Kai and Nya (Sora also gets a better control of her powers), and then they go to the town with the wolf mech, cloud kingdom and the place with the redhead girl as there are dragons in each. The wolf mech town has a dragon which Ras has got to and they must fight for it. The cloud kingdom has two ice dragons, before the place gets attacked by an eldritch horror. And the redhead girls place has a lot of dragons, possibly for dragon fighting, and she’s part of a society that either doesn’t like strangers or have strict clothing traditions hence, Lloyd and Sora in different outfits. At some point, the team free a group of dragons from the Empirium. Speaking of them, the Empirium is a group that want to rule all the merged realms and are harnessing the power of dragons. The blonde woman may be the empress herself, Ras works for her, and Rapton works for him. The hexagonal symbol is the symbol of the Empirium. The dark haired lady and man also work for the empress and create the science needed to use the dragon power. Also the wolf mech thing is a result of dragon power and this may be a stretch, but is possibly Ras himself. Idk tho. That’s just my silly Lego theories. I might make this a post later.

A Powerful Treasure

A new enemy has surfaced in Ninjago, but before his plans have even properly come to light, before much is even significantly known about the man; the ninja are attacked in the Monastery. They all get out unscathed, more or less, but when they can’t find Cole...

There were times when Cole woke up in the Monastery and forgot where he was. It seemed to just be a fact of life, especially when that life included being a ninja and most of the time going from place to place in a mad rush to prevent the whole of Ninjago from being destroyed. So waking up to brief confusion as a soft orange haze of light managed to bleed through his closed eyelids was nothing new to the Earth ninja. He must have been in the bunk room on the Bounty, and unfortunate shifting in his sleep along with a perfectly angled ship had meant that a direct ray of sunlight was destined to go into his eyes as soon as he opened them.

No matter where he moved his head, nothing seemed to help it other than an arm thrown haphazardly over his face to prevent the light from coming in.

Then, over the course of a few seconds, it occurred suddenly that he didn't even remember boarding the Bounty the day before, nor he didn't remember going to sleep either. The process of getting ready for bed, it was the same every night. A few hours of relaxation and watching TV, maybe some games, late night training if Cole felt like it and his body didn’t ache, then he'd climb into bed and wake up to his alarm the next day to get ready for morning practice.

In fact, Cole didn't even recall having dinner that night. He remembered that Zane had started cooking, because everyone had set up shop in the dining room because they were researching… Something.

Something important, something that was a pressing matter. Something that Cole had no reason to have forgotten, but that wasn't the only thing he was blanking on.

A good portion of the previous day, a sheer blank slate in his mind.

Cole shot up sharply in bed, the quilt falling off where it had been tucked in around him and off the edge of the bed. Though the white cotton sheet getting dirtied on the floor wasn't the biggest of his problems in that instance.

It was what he was wearing, and the fact that he didn't own anything like it. They were simple clothes, a white t-shirt and trousers that seemed to be made from the same material, all the way down to the threading used to hold it all together. It looked like spools of sheer gold to the naked eye, so thin and sewn so carefully that each pass looked far too delicate to even touch.

He was barefoot, legs now crossed beneath himself as he sat up, staring down at his new get-up with a building sense of confusion and honestly, unease.

That wasn't even half of it. The next thing that Cole's sleep filled eyes were drawn to were the multiple golden necklaces adorned around his neck. The clothing in itself wasn't the best, the low cut shirt was nothing he'd ever choose to wear, but jewellery? And so much of it? Necklaces of varying sizes, with varying styles. Some with more of a chunkier design, interlaced with embedded gems, some that shone blue and deep purples, even some crystals that were clear and perfectly cut were set in their own golden casts, resting heavy around his neck and cold against his skin.

Cole couldn't help but grimace slightly at the sight, and partially at the situation he'd woken up to. His mind was still groggy with sleep, as it was every morning before he'd properly woken up, but sometimes a large enough shock was enough to force his mind into gear. That's exactly what he got when he looked up, the drowsy side of his brain telling him all he was going to see was his bedroom and nothing more.

Nothing more.

That wasn't what he was met with, and the sharp mental slingshot he experienced when what his eyes met didn't correlate with what he'd thought he was going to see made his mouth drop open.

"Holy crap." Cole whispered as his eyes graced over the room.

Not his bedroom, not the Bounty.

He was alert and on edge in mere seconds, shuffling to the edge of a king sized four-poster that was definitely not his own, his eyes flicking between every inch of the room he found himself in. Cole had no idea where he was.

The room was huge by bedroom standards, it was wide, circular in shape as if it had been crafted to fit into a tower, or the outer edges of a palace, because that's the first thing the Earth Master thought as he took in his surroundings.

Everything was varying between shades of near opalescent whites and solid and sheer golds. There were bookcases full of old tomes lining one wall, their pages cracked and wrinkled with time, use, and most likely exposure to the sunlight leaking into the room. The walls stood tall, almost twice the height than those in a regular house, the white finish patterned with ornate golden curves and flurries, some crafted and guided to form the shape of flowers, some budding and some fully open with their petals spread wide; some formed leaves and stems, climbing up higher and higher in an ornate mural to nature. Each stroke seemed to be hand painted to perfection, not a single aspect out of place. The other walls had the same treatment, towering high and covered beautifully with art.

There were chairs dotted around the place, carpets and cushions set out in an organised fashion over the wooden boarded floor, a table with a small stack of what seemed to be notebooks and an assortment of pens and pencils beside them.

Then, just to his left, there was the most elaborate window Cole had ever seen in his life. It stretched floor to ceiling in an arched pattern, twin golden frames curving up and meeting together just before the ceiling began, and a single pane of fitted glass had been oh so carefully slotted in between. An incredible and astounding feat of craftsmanship, only emboldened by the curtains draped down the sides, long enough to collect and bunch on the floor in what nearly seemed like a treasonous act. The golden fabric was almost opaque, doing no significant job of keeping the sunlight out. They were there for futilities sake; serving no purpose other than to look nice in the room and that was it.

Cole stepped just a bit closer to the window, his bare feet tapping lightly on the wooden boards as he neared the looking glass which currently only displayed the world outside as a layer of blue with multiple different blankets of clouds dotted over the skyscape.

That was all he could see before he was halted in his step half-way between the bed and one possible way outside, by a force that held his arms back and almost tripped him in his step.

The situation he was in changed in that single instant, from a clear sense of uncertainty and wariness of waking up in a completely unknown environment; to immediately being on edge and alert for any possible dangers that could be shrouded in the room that seemed to be built for royalty.

All Cole could do was stare back towards his bed, specifically at the floor, and wonder how he hadn't noticed it before. Maybe it was the shock of the room, or overall being thrown into the new situation, but it had now become something much more threatening.

Lengths of chains were stretched out over the floor, thick links that dragged and scratched with each movement Cole made. Stretching from seemingly some hidden point under the bed over to where he was standing, only then lifting off the floor and reaching up to where they ended, welded neatly onto a set of ornate cuffs that sat tightly around his wrist. How had he not noticed them, how had he not realised--

Chained… I'm chained down and the first thing I notice is the damn room?

Cole found himself staring down at the metal, moving his arms and legs and watching as the four individual lengths of chains shifted with each movement, as if those objects themselves were driving home the fact that they were in fact locked around his wrists and ankles in a present and heavy weight. The chains themselves were bulky, but the cuffs were a whole other thing. They stretched half way up his forearms and Cole couldn't find the seam where the clicked shut, nor a slot for a key to open them up.

They seemed to be one single piece of metal all the way around, they shifted and turned when he moved but they didn't do much else. Mere millimeters away from cutting off circulation to his extremities, and for a way to keep him captive in that one room they had no business being as elegant as they were. Reflecting the sunlight of what occurred to Cole as an ending day, the bright yellows that had cascaded through the window faded further and further into the depths of orange that indicated an oncoming sunset, it gave the cuffs a glow to them. Warm and soft, a sheer oxymoron. The surface of them was etched with light grooves, interspersed with an inset obsidian black stone.

Cole was around five minutes into pulling on the chains, the clang of metal hitting the ground and then being pulled taut to within an inch of its life resounded around the previously quiet room; when he realised the black rock was Vengestone. The cuffs dug into the skin at his wrists, leaving deep grooves and reddened skin in its wake, and whilst his strength was great even without his elemental abilities, even if he had his powers something told him that these chains weren't going to give so easily.

"Come on, come on! Break! Please break, please--!"

It was when blood was drawn that Cole decided to stop, a red line manoeuvring its way down the palm of his hand and his index finger to drip silently onto the floor.

Cole followed suit, sitting down against the side of the bed and just allowing his head to droop forwards. It wasn't in defeat, he wouldn't allow it to be in defeat, he wasn't giving up already. When the pain in his arms subsided he'd just try again, and again afterwards.

Again until he either broke the chains, or pulled the deadbolt out from where it was embedded in the concrete wall underneath the bed.

He just had to wait for his muscles to stop aching before he started up his onslaught on the chains again. The brief respite from activity gave him some time to try and resolve the gaps he had in his memory.

There was a large blank section, starting the day before, as he'd just sat down at the dining table with a brand new and far too large book on Ninjagian Lore and Power, entirely reluctant to open it up even though he did enjoy reading. There was a vast difference between reading for pleasure and mandatory reading, and Cole knew which one he preferred.

Then there was nothing, an empty space in his memories that must have been extensive since he was sure it had been at least a day since he'd been walking the halls of the Monastery. Though the more Cole tried to discern what fitted into the gap, what had occurred that had ended with him waking up in an unknown room who-even-knew-where, chained down, the more the answer eluded him.

Cole grit his teeth, closed his eyes, and tried to find something. Anything. He'd sat down with a book, gone to open it-- nothing.

He'd sat down with a book and opened it, then nothing.

Always nothing.

"Why don't I remember..?" Cole mumbled quietly to himself, his hands fisted tightly at his sides. "Why is everything blank, why can't I think?" He wasn't talking to anyone in particular, but he needed to vent his frustration some way.

All he needed was one thing, one memory! Anything that would just give him something to work with.

That section remained carefully blank.

The room he was in had no reason to look so nice, the mattress at his back shouldn't have felt so soft. It was a cage, no matter what it looked like. The chains around his wrists didn't have enough slack to let him reach the window so they definitely didn't reach the door on the opposite side, it was a gilded cage fit for royalty. Far too lavish. Nauseating almost.

There wasn't anywhere in Ninjago like it, at least no place that Cole could think of off the top of his head.

All the golds and light pouring in from a giant window provided a rolling and extensive view of the fading sky. Then, looking at himself, he realised with startling clarity that he fitted the theme too with what he was wearing. Whites and golds, even the vengestone chains followed suit.

He knew he wasn't getting them off any time soon, but he could definitely make himself feel better. Starting with the golden cords around his neck, lacing his fingers around them and yanking until either the clasps broke or the small chains splintered. They ended up thrown at the opposite wall, landing in a broken and heaped mess, flecks of metal and inlaid gems clanking and bouncing out over the floor as the ruined jewellery landed. Cole then moved on to the bangles around his wrists, twisting and distorting the thin metal until they gave in to strain and broke. Again, discarded in their own wreaked pile.

He was about to move onto the shirt, hands poised to start tearing at the seams and tearing the fabric when the click of a lock quickly drew his attention to the door of the room.

Cole was on his feet in an instant, his arms drawn up and in front of himself in a defensive position. As the door swung open he stood his ground and readied himself for whoever or whatever was about to step inside.

Whether years of fighting against less than human entities in an effort to prevent the destruction of Ninjago, a man who looked just a little bit older than himself walking in hadn't been what Cole had anticipated; but an enemy was an enemy.

He was the one in chains, that man was not. There was an all too present imbalance but that didn't mean that Cole was at a disadvantage. All he had to do was wait for him to step closer, when they were close enough and if there was enough slack on the chains then all it would take was a well timed and solid strike to the side of the head and the man would go down. Clearly, the man had a key to the door, so he'd probably also have something for the cuffs too.

Though with the distance, all Cole could do was stand his ground, stare down his captor and demand some answers.

Only to be completely thrown off by the first words that come out of the guy's mouth.

"Ah, my treasure wakes."

The man proceeded to advance further into the room, closer to where Cole was standing and besides his better judgement, besides the plan he was going to enact just a few seconds ago, the ninja took a few steps back to maintain the distance between the two of them. The words, the almost honey-sweet lilt to them, the way the man's voice made the hair on the back of his neck and his arms prickle. He was on edge in an instant, uneasy, and the look held in the man's eyes as they just seemed to trace over his body was anything but calming. If he was at all bothered by the broken jewellery, he wasn’t letting on.

His eyes were a deep yellow, and not just the cornea, but the entire thing. Almost like a buffed tigers eye gemstone had been dropped into each of his sockets. The man was dressed regally too, flowing robes in vibrant shades of purple and interspersed with golden trim, shoulder length jet black hair clashing sharply with the pale pallor of his skin. There's a crown on his head too, and Cole realises that within the intricate pattern of gold, a yellow veined piece of vengestone was suspended in the centre. It almost looked to be floating.

Still, he was advancing, and Cole's legs coming into contact with the bed frame forced himself to halt his own retreat. He liked to think he was tall, but as the man stopped just in front of him, there was enough of a height difference that it forced the Earth Master to cast his gaze upwards.

"I've been waiting for you to wake up, you were asleep for a lot longer than I'd anticipated but alas, here we are." The man gave a small smile, and Cole's expression blanched as he felt the man's fingers wrap lightly around his left wrist. It was more than easy to bat them away, the motion accompanied by the clank of swinging chains. That rejection didn't seem to perturb the man, who just continued with what he was doing, this time lifting one hand and threading it into the strands of Cole's hair.

One warning, that was enough, but the instant he felt the grip tighten in his hair was the point at which the man was solidly shoved away. There was a light stumble, and Cole's brows were furrowed in indignation, his own hands up in between the two of them to act as a barrier. It hadn't taken much strength to get the guy to move away but the hand yanking at his hair as it was dislodged left a low hum of pain in his temple.

"Don't touch me." He ground out, his fists clenched tightly. He wasn't going to stand there and be handled by a stranger as if he was just something to be admired. That was what he saw in the man's eyes, what he read in his expression even just after a few seconds. Initially, he'd hoped that the assumption was mistaken, but the actions and words?

"I get that I'm a prisoner, but that doesn't mean I'm taking your crap, you touch me again and I'll break your face." Cole spat.

Only to be met with a light and jovial laugh. "Ah, as stoic as your element. I knew there was a reason I picked you." the man spoke, something new and entirely unreadable floating in his eyes, "You're not a prisoner, Cole."

Cole didn't allow himself to bristle at the fact that the man knew his name, most people did nowadays, so he just lifted his wrists and the chains moved with them, his expression shifting carefully to neutral, "Sure, because I definitely don't feel like one."

The man nodded, as if he didn't get the joke. Or maybe he did, he just wasn't going to humour him with the sarcasm he'd tried to use. There was a brief moment when the room fell into silence, only for the man to break it quickly by crouching down and picking two loose loops of chain in his hands, rolling the golden links over in his palm for a brief second as he looked over the glinting metal. "Exactly."

Then he tightened his grip and pulled in one fluid motion. Cole's arms were yanked forwards first, the chains dragging the cuffs with them only caused him to stumble forwards and forcibly bridge the gap he'd just made between the two of them. His hands were pulled down to his side by the unyielding chains grasped in the man's hold.

It was embarrassing, but any other feeling was quickly overtaken by the situation as a whole. He hadn't even noticed what the man had been doing before it was too late, he hadn't even spared a second glance when he'd stooped to lift the chains, Cole hadn't even thought twice about what he'd planned. He'd just watched it all play out like an idiot.

He twisted his wrists in the shackles, pulling upwards against the opposing strength but whoever that guy was, there was no contention of who was stronger in that situation. He simply held the chains in one hand by his side, preventing Cole from lifting his arms to any significant degree.

They were chest to chest, the man's face crooning down to his own with an all too soft expression, "You're my guest. You're safe here."

The unnerving calm of the man's manner was opposed by the seething vitriol that the Earth Ninja managed to muster as he glared back. Their faces were mere inches apart, solid yellow eyes boring down into his own.

Again, like before, he felt the man's free hand lift into his hair, looping a longer strand around one of his fingers. There wasn't time to take in the discomfort that came with the light touch as Cole shook his head to dislodge the hold.

This time, it didn't do much good. The hand was there again, fingers carding through like before.

He wanted nothing more than to deliver on the previous promise of breaking the guys face, if it meant just getting him to let go and go away, but with his hands pinned down and no way to manoeuvre out the situation at hand, he forced out a heavy breath and decided on a much more logical approach. If all options are exhausted, go from a different angle.

If he couldn't break the man's hold, he'd talk. Get more information, try and fill the gap in his memory. Stall for time and find an opening. Something.

"I'm not a guest, but if I'm not a prisoner, then what am I?" Cole questioned, forcing himself to keep his face neutral as he felt the strangers hand tug lightly on the back of his hair. "Why am I here?"

The man gave a chuckle, his hand blessedly dropping away from his hair only to get the ghost of fingers caressing lightly over his cheek. Then when he felt the full warm touch cupping the side of his face, Cole couldn't keep the repulsed look at bay as he tilted his head as far as he could in the other direction.

There was a sudden flash of irritation, but that quickly quashed under a careful sigh as if he'd never been phased to begin with. Though it was preceded by a glowing glare in his eyes, the different scars that Cole could now see cleaved through the man's hair, leaving present but healed grooves. Then there was the grin, the all too white smile and the sharpened canines that he could see now that they were far too close quarters, "That's not of any importance, you're here now and that's all that matters."

In that instant, unannounced, memories came flooding back.

The rumours that he and his brothers had heard about a travelling sorcerer. A man, passing from village to village who generally stayed on the rural outskirts of Ninjago. Whether it was to stay under the radar or something else, any and all pertinent news tended to find its way to them at one point or another.

An unknown man who would charm the locals and spend a few days at each new location, for then to simply raze the area to the ground and move on.

He'd disappear for a few days and then crop up again, seemingly as bedraggled as he had been that very first time the man had shown his face. No trace of the kindness the previous villages had expressed to him, no gifts of fresh clothes to replace the worn ones that were practically falling from his body. He would just stay, wreak havoc, and then move on. With each new village, the end result seemed to get worse and worse. It started with harvests being culled, vast fields of rice rotting and dead. Then, homes had been targeted. Old, dried wooden beams weakened with rot and mould that worked its way from the inside out until the houses collapsed.

Every time the ninja had heard of this mystery man being in a certain area, all they constantly arrived to find where displaced lives, ruined livelihoods. But always too late. They all helped in any way they could, clean-up crew, basic first aid, collected as much information they could, then like every other time before that they just returned back to the monastery with nothing more than a feeling of uselessness.

It had taken their collective force around a week to figure out who this wandering destroyer was, and Sensei Wu had been fairly insightful even if what he had provided had been a bedtime story he'd been told of in his youth. It was exactly the man they'd been searching for.

A powerful sorcerer by the name of Acacius had used to travel the land during the time of the First Spinjitzu Master. A wanderer. He'd go from place to place, areas of power as Sensei Wu had dubbed them, and drain it all dry. Then move on to the next place. He'd done it for decades, terrorising people and elemental masters alike, draining life away from lands, destroying crops, removing life forces. Apparently when a story was told by the man who had split apart a continent and created a realm, there was no moral or warning, just information and a true tale. Either way, it was also a pretty dark bedtime story.

The story ended as most did, with the heroes triumphing over evil. Though it wasn't anything large or garish, it was resolved quietly.

The First Spinjitzu Master had finally caught up with this incredibly powerful sorcerer, this creature twisted on stolen power and a near incandescent drive for more, and had locked him away. Where? That hadn't been important to the story. Apparently vagueness ran in the family.

Cole remembered listening to the story before picking up a book on ancient lore, flipping straight to the back and to the index of the tome, tracing his finger carefully down the letters until he found Acacius.

Before he'd even focused properly on the list, the front gates of the Monastery had ruptured inwards, followed by a sheer cascade of energy that had ricocheted through the halls and blown all their written notes clean off the dining table and onto the floor.

They'd all grabbed their weapons and headed to the courtyard of the Monastery in seconds, facing a man-- Acacius, no longer dressed in rags, no longer lying to appeal to the good nature of caring people. He was standing tall, back straight, a wicked grin on his lips which only seemed to widen further when both Lloyd and Wu had stepped out to face this ancient enemy.

Cole remembered that they'd fought. They'd fought and fallen, been batted into the stone walls encasing their home and watched as different sections fell down and crumbled around their brothers, who proceeded to get up and join the fray again with no second thought to injuries. No one could seem to get close enough to the sorcerer, charging at Acacius with unrelenting synchronisation though all the while he continued to laugh about how it had been so easy to find them.

Creation and Energy, both in one place? It's almost easy pickings, I could sense you from miles away!

The voice was deep, it vibrated through Cole's core with the power the words alone exuded. It was clear how the man had been able to hold his ground, however briefly, against the First Spinjitzu Master.

It promptly became a fight to protect Lloyd and Sensei Wu and the power they both possessed. Only it didn't end like that.

Cole was the only one who'd managed to get some form of a significant hit in. He'd shuck the ground with a light stamp of his foot, and the fissure that had split the inlaid stone of the courtyard was enough to cause a mere second of distraction for the sorcerer.

He'd charged forwards, and had kept going even as Acacius had locked eyes with his own. His legs were already moving and there was already so much momentum, all Cole needed to do was commit and swing his hammer. The attack wasn't his best, and with a last minute shift from the sorcerer, it left him swinging that bit too wide. Initially, he'd thought it would miss in its entirety, yet the weighted metal had scarcely managed to clip the man's jaw enough to throw him off balance.

In the following seconds, he had felt a hand pressed to his forehead, and the world had flickered to black.

Then he'd woken up.

Cole couldn't help but stumble at the sudden flood of information, the gap in his memory all too quickly blazed with missing images and memories, enough that the abrupt movement had caught both him and his captor- Acacius, off guard.

It took one step back and his legs clipped the edge of the bed frame, the obstacle only caused him to fall backwards onto the mattress. Though he recovered quickly and used that short moment to put more space in between him and the sorcerer, pulling his wrists and yanking the chains until all the slack that he had was now on his side of the bed and couldn't be used by the man as a immobilisation tactic again.

Acacius, who hadn't shifted from where he'd been standing beforehand, had a large grin plastered over his face. His gaze seemed almost soft, almost caring even; it only served to make Cole shudder.

"I visited your home to gain more power." He explains after a short moment of quiet, his gaze resolutely fixed on where Cole was standing, Acacius almost seemed annoyed at the bed between them, "So many elemental masters in one place, it was like a buffet." He took a deep breath in, his eyes closing. It was almost like he was being chided for the circumstances that had led the man to their home. Not that there had been any feasible way to find out in such a short space of time that Lloyd and Sensei Wu would be at risk.

Why he'd decided to change tact and take him instead, Cole wasn't sure. If there was power, as much as he hated that he even thought it, Lloyd was the logical pick. Though between any one of his family and himself, if he knew that they'd end up locked and chained in the room he was in now, staring back at a powerful sorcerer with an unknown plan and newfound freedom after being imprisoned; Cole was glad it was him in that situation.

"But then I saw you," Acacius continued, "And my plans changed just a little. I've always liked you Earth Masters, you see." He kept his gaze on his captive as he took a short step to the side, one that Cole mirrored in the opposite direction. The sorcerer seemed amused by the reaction. "You have a lot of power, sure, nothing comparable to Creation or Energy but you're definitely up there. You can direct energy, just like I can. I'm sure you can make nature flourish with just a small nudge," He says, it's more of a question than a statement, and Cole almost answers before he caught himself and closed his mouth again. "My power decreased vastly over my… Many decades being imprisoned, but you. You can help me."

At that, the short step the man had taken previously turned into a stride as he circled around the bed. Cole had both feet on top of the mattress in a second, intent on cutting over to the other side but a hand clasped around his wrist halted any significant plan of getting away. He should have moved faster, but what the sorcerer was planning, it had him stumped. His power didn't redirect energy, it made the earth shake. Sure, maybe plants grew around him, grass seemed to be greener in his presence, but that wasn't energy, that was just his element. That short moment of being lost in thought was a moment too much.

He was dragged from the bed with a yelp, his back shoved sharply against the wall and the grip on his wrist tightened to a near bruising hold that made him grit his teeth against the pain.

Acacius was hemming him in, more so than before. With the wall at his back there wasn't anywhere he could retreat to, and with the bed to his left and his captor looming too close to his right he was well and truly backed into a corner.

"Think about it," He hummed in a whispered tone, "With your power, you can move energy around more freely than I can. Maybe only to plant life and through the earth currently, but given time, you can learn to transfer it to me." Cole simply stared, was he really giving away what he was planning? That he just wanted more power, and a constant supply of it? That Cole could help with it and that was why he'd taken him? Why his powers were locked down with Vengestone instead of being drained away at the hands of this power hungry ancient being?

Trapped where he was, listening to Acacius liking the sound of his own voice, Cole scoffed loudly in the face of the man who was standing far too close, far too in his personal space. It was uncomfortable and he wasn't a fan of being pulled around by his wrist and chains as if that was what it took to have a civilised conversation. There was no being civil about anything, so he wasn't going to be polite in return. There wasn't much that was going to stop him from throwing a wrench into his plans, being spoken down to was more than enough to develop a solid dislike of a person, though before he could say anything along the lines of no, that's never going to happen. You have about two days before my brothers find me and you, and then less than a week until you're imprisoned again.

He had faith, and the speed of which they reacted to a situation increased tenfold when someone they cared about was in danger.

"You're so beautiful."

Cole froze in place, his eyes widening just a fraction at what he'd just heard. It was said with a quiet sigh, the warm puff of air just beside his face. He grimaced, pushing himself back into the wall to just try in vain to get further away from the man. The situation had taken a turn, a very dangerous turn.

"... What?" He questioned, his voice carefully measured. It gave nothing away, though he was sure his eyes were being windows to his soul. He could feel the tenseness in his body, the rush of adrenaline through his muscles.

Cole felt the grip that was latched around his wrist move down to his hand. His mind was moving a mile a minute, trying to figure out what he'd missed about his current circumstances. Usually prisoners were taken in order to give said person no other choice but to carry out the demands of their captor, or outright refuse and await rescue, whatever the repercussions may be. He had been taken prisoner because of his supposed complimentary power to the sorcerer, but he could clearly see that wasn't the whole story. Was this supposed affection the driving force behind everything, or was it all part of some larger plan in place?

There must have been so much more to it, there had to be.

Or maybe there wasn't. Maybe his powers and how they could apparently be used was the added bonus in this situation.

Cole took in a sharp breath, and solidified his gaze, "I don't care what you think, or what you want from having me here, but I'm not helping you with anything." He spat out.

Acacius lent forward, his voice close enough to Cole's ear that he shuddered, leaning away as much as he could. He forced himself to remain calm, ignoring the man's advances in favour of staring at the door that was just left hanging open as if tempting something he couldn’t have. Outside, there seemed to be a corridor that went off in either direction, but even if he could get out of the sorcerer's hold, he still wouldn't be able to leave. Not with the chains.

He really was counting on his brothers this time, placing faith in the fact that they would find out where he was, that they'd come barging in, breaking down the door and freeing him. He needed them to come in at that very moment. The silent hope that they'd walk in any second depleted as the seconds ticked by.

"The great thing is, Cole, I don't need you to be okay with helping me increase my power." Acacius pulled back just a little, his solid eyes dancing slowly over Cole's face, as if looking for something, or waiting.

"When we're married," He started, and Cole felt a lead weight drop down in his stomach, but before he could say anything against it, laugh, roll his eyes, lash out, anything at all, Acacius continued on as if what he was saying was completely normal. "I'll get to keep you all to myself. Your power will be mine to wield, and mine alone.” His voice was so carefully measured, “I don't need you to agree to my plans, I just need to keep you here for a few more days. What did you say, two days ? And your friends will be here? You'd better hope you're correct, my sweet." A thumb was stroked carefully over his cheek.

Cole saw red in an instant, and closed in against a wall or not, mind still reeling and trying to take in and just compute what he'd just heard; he could work on instinct when everything else failed. Instinct brought a hand up, balled tightly into a fist and whilst the impact that was made between his knuckles and his captors nose wasn't anything to shout about, the clank of the chains being permeated by a shout of pain and what was hopefully the crack of cartilage was music to Cole's ears.

The action was over before he'd even realised what he'd done, but the aftereffects were a sight. Acacius collected himself off the floor from where he'd fallen backwards, hands held resolutely over his face to presumably stem the blood flow and conceal a broken nose.

Cole wasn't smiling though, his heart was racing, his teeth were clenched as he stepped closer to his captor.

"My power isn't yours to use!"

The Earth Master dropped down into a fighting stance, his gaze set on the sorcerer as he got up. Yet, when he stood up straight and moved his hand away from his face there wasn't the pouring line of red blood dripping from his nostrils that Cole had anticipated. It was black, flowing like ink from a quill, dripping off his chin and staining the floorboards below. Surprisingly, there was no anger in the man's eyes, just an unusual admiration and to Cole's disgust, a fondness that was now clearly at the surface. Teeth were bared in a small grin, the black blood staining his teeth when it found its way into his mouth.

He'd fought worse enemies before, and he'd inevitably do it again in the future. This man… This thing, he would just be another name on an ever growing list. Cole tilted his head until his neck popped lightly, then clenched his knuckles until those joints followed suit. He was at a disadvantage, but he wasn't going to lose this fight.

His anger just spiked sharply with every second they stared at each other. "You can't make me do anything. I'm not marrying anyone, I'm not helping you with your energy addiction and I'm not just going to sit back and do nothing!"

Acacius seemed to be taking all the time in the world righting himself, starting with tugging on his waistcoat to flatten the crumples back down, to pulling a pure white handkerchief out of a hidden pocket to wipe at the black ooze still falling from his nose. It didn't do much, only serving to smear what was there, but he didn't seem too bothered by it, nor the blackened stains that had fallen onto his clothes. No, his attention was stoically set on Cole.

He didn't take a step forward this time, almost as if he was treating his prisoner like a frightened animal, which he wasn't. Though he was fairly predisposed to fight back in an instant should he feel at all threatened. Cole hadn't moved out of his fighting stance, and wasn't going to any time soon. That was clear.

"You must be pretty exhausted, with all this thinking and worrying." came the man's voice, softly spoken over the space that had formed between them.

All that was gained in return was a raised eyebrow and a scowl.

Acacius spread his hands carefully, and Cole could have sworn that the man’s eyes seemed to flicker with an all too sudden yellow glow.

There was a minute step closer, the sole of the sorcerer's shoes clicking against the wood as he said, "You don't want to fight me, perhaps some sleep will do you some good."

The effect was instant, the words… They seemed to resonate so deeply, cascade around the room in a reverberating wave until they met Cole's ears, crashing down and enveloping his mind in a sudden and palpable haze.

His arms dropped from their defencive stand, hanging loosely down at his sides. His eyes followed suit, eyelids growing heavy in mere seconds, the drag of sleep so instant and all encompassing that he'd never felt such sheer levels of exhaustion in his life.

It felt wrong.

"What-- what did you do..?" Cole questioned, his words slurred and drawn out, his tongue heavy in his mouth. The question was quiet, whispered, and broken by a large yawn that came up from nowhere.

He could feel his body shutting down, any drive to fight the man that was stepping closer had all but faded out of existence. He didn't want to fight, he could even keep his eyes open. All he wanted was to sleep.

Cole's legs were the first to buckle, but he didn't hit the ground. Acacius was by his side in an instant, one arm weaved carefully around his waist to support his weight and keep him more or less upright. The other hand came to rest on the back of his head, guiding it until his cheek was resting against his captors shoulder as his eyes fluttered, his mind trying to force himself to stay awake. That small part, struggling to keep cognitive thought running through his sleep laden mind.

"I just helped you, my sweet." Was the reply, the voice flowing past the fog in his head as if it wasn't even there, trying to keep wakefulness at bay. Acacius's voice was clear, perfectly so. The clearest thing in the whole room. "I can't have you worried, you see? Constantly alert for any opportunity to escape, ruining my plans, you don't want that, do you?"

Cole finds himself tuning in to the sickly sweet voice, his head shaking in a silent no against the man's shoulder, before he caught himself, his mind snapping back to reality, but a second was enough to drive himself to speak around the forced slumber.

"Stop it."

"Stop what?" there was a small breath, almost a laugh, but not quite there. The hand on his head moved lightly, fingers carding back and forth through his hair in a rhythmic fashion. Cole wanted nothing more than to reach up, drag the touch away and beat the guy until he was a blackened grease smear on the floor, but he couldn't make his body move.

He could just feel it relax more and more, the tenseness of his muscles falling away as his body collapsed, resting fully against the sorcerers chest.

"Sleep, my treasure.” The voice almost echoed around his head, the words blanketing, all-encompassing. “We will be wed before the week is done. You're safe here, this is the best place you could be."

His eyes slipped closed, body slumping entirely in the man's hold, breathing slowed in the throes of the forced rest.

"Sleep."

Cole's mind finally gave in.

Surprisingly none! I stick with my favorites, well, I am catching up on The Good Doctor right now.

Describe your favorite pair of socks

Thick fuzzy ones, they're gray knit with soft fluffy insides and have polar bear faces sewed onto the front.

Do you like smoothies?

Mhm! I make a banana/strawberry/blueberry/spinach one everyday.

What do you wear when you have to dress nicely?

I have some nice pants + shirt/vest duo as well as a nice navy lace dress, just depends on what I want to wear.

How do you like your eggs?

Scrambled, fried, and hard boiled in that order.

What do you use to keep your place when you’re reading a book?

I fold the corner. Blasphemy I know.

What color dominates your closet?

Black or blue.

Do you collect anything? If so, what?

Hmm I used to collect funko pop's but I only collected the ones I liked and now I have them. I guess I don't collect much, sometimes shells from beaches and stuff.

What sounds or scents calm you down?

There's a specific frog audio that my mom played for me when I was very young that helped me sleep, it's turned into a comfort sound for me now. Lavender or the perfume my mom uses is also comforting.

Even if we're hours apart I still get to spend more time with them than anyone else. They take the time to talk to me and I'm always eager to relax and hang out with them. They're so smart and even helped me with a subject I struggle in.

Pen, if I'm writing in pencil I have to be using a mechanical one.

What are some places where you feel most at home?

My bed and room, anywhere soft and cozy. The beach too.

I only have one and it's an aloe plant I keep in my room. It doesn't have a name.

AH okay my favorite one currently! It's a light blue hoodie from Tilly's that says "Stay away please and thank you" and I absolutely live in it. Had it for a few months now.

Skyward Sword HD!

What’s one historical event that you would have liked to have witnessed?

Bit morbid but either the Salem Witch Trials, Black Plague, or the disappearing of one of the British Colonies.

What’s your favorite Halloween costume from when you were a kid?

I dressed as Ariel a lot, I want to say I dressed as Merida in elementary as well.

What kind of math are you best at?

Angles and Shapes.

Well, I don't know the period of art but anything that has to do with water color I adore.

Hmm Iced.

Um not many sadly. Was teased for doing that so I quit years ago.

Are you a good driver?

LMAO NO, I'm learning soon but I have run over a tree on a golf cart among many other things.

Do you have any piercings or tattoos? Are there any that you want?

Only one lobe pierced, my right one. There's a handful of tattoo's I want if I wasn't a pussy, as well as piercings. Lip and tongue definitely, nipples, more on my ears, I don't like anything too drastic I'd probably just keep studs or small hoops.

Can you cook or bake? If so, what are some of your specialties?

Mhm! I bake super good brownies and my favorite thing to cook is either meat rice balls or omelets.

Do you have any keychains on your home or car keys? Describe them!

Oh I have MANY. I keep a green rupee chain on my key, I have a Legend snack keychain, a Four Sword, Minish Cap Link, and Vaati on my backpack. Purse has Midna and Wild as well as Toon Zelda.

Can you swim very well? Do you like swimming?

I can swim, not gracefully, but I certainly won't drown. I do like to swim!

Did you play with Legos as a kid? What was your favorite set?

HELL YEAH I DID! Ninjago my beloved! My favorite set I owned is probably, well it ties between, The Monastery and the Destiny's Bounty, and my original first season sets are Cole's Earth Drill from Season 2 and my Ratla Bike from Season 1!

Is your closet organized? If so, how?

At one house absolutely not. At the other I have my dresser in one half, shirts hung on other, folded sheets on the closet floor + a bin for old stuffed animals.

What’s the last music video you watched?

Umm I think Bottom of the Deep Blue by MISSIO? I'm not one for music videos but it was in a playlist.

If you could dye your hair any color, regardless of how you think it would look, what color would you choose?

Oh man I've done this so many times. I'd go for a purple again or a deep ocean blue.

Headphones or earbuds?

HEADPHONES, hands down, 100%

Can you read analog clocks?

Yup! Surprisingly I was one of two people who could read one in a class so I was dubbed the time keeper.

Describe your favorite stuffed animal, either now or from when you were a kid.

I have two. One is a sesame street character I've had for years. His fur is matted down and he has been patched up so many times. I also have a newer Toothless plush I love.

Air Hockey, I kick ASS at that!

Not at all! So long as I don't accidentally bump them all will go smooth.

Hmm probably music by John Powell or Rozen.

Getting to hang out with my favorite Toad, hands down. They bring so much joy!

Save it in jars. I kid you not.

Cold, bundled in blankets, hood pulled up and sock on, cuddled up to a pillow or someone I love. Cat resting on my chest or curled up against my tummy if I'm laying on my side.

NS13 Translations (S13E2 The Darkness Approaching)

Jay: Ha! What did I tell you? It’s so cool, right?!

Nya: I’ll admit, I didn’t even believe such a place even existed at first, but I never thought it would be so beautiful!

Wu: Shintaro Kingdom’s Ivory City… unbelievable!

Hailmar: Your Majesty, King Vangelis. The famous ninja of Ninjago have arrived in your presence.

Vangelis: Welcome, welcome! I’m very pleased you have accepted my invitation to our Kingdom! It is a great honor!

Wu: We too are greatly honored to meet the King of Shintaro himself.

Vangelis: Well, I am only a ruler in title. It is the people who are the spirit of the land itself.

Vania: Oh! They’ve arrived!

Vangelis: This young woman is my daughter, Princess Vania.

Vania: You are my idols! I’ve heard of all your grand adventures! It was actually I who had requested that we invite you for my birthday celebration!

Cole (visibly smitten): It is a great honor to meet you, your highness.

Vania: So you really have gone to Hiroshi’s Labyrinth? Zane: Yes, that is correct.

Vania: And took part in the Tournament of Elements?

Kai: Ah..hah… the story behind that one is not simple.

Vania: Oooh! I want to hear all of your tales!

Cole: Well… where should we even begin?

Vangelis: Well, perhaps you should all come with me first. Tomorrow will be an extremely busy day.

Vania @ Cole: Cole, ninja of Earth. How does it feel to control your elemental powers? Is it interesting?

Cole: Well… yeah, it’s kind of interesting.

Jay: Huh. That’s odd. The Princess seems to really like Cole. Like sure, Cole is my friend but like… liking him?

Lloyd: That’s true, it’s strange.

Cole: Gwah!

Lloyd: Hey, Cole.

Cole: Lloyd?! How’d you even sneak in?!

Lloyd: ...I’m a ninja, remember? Anyway, I came to remind you to be wary of the Princess. I think she might be lying, she’s got some ulterior motive. All these Princesses, all of the same mold.

Cole: All… princesses? You can’t just group them all together as bad people… wait, are you thinking of Harumi?

Lloyd: W-what?! No! Not at all!

Cole: Well aside from the fact that the only Princess you know is Harumi, it’s not like I have feelings for Princess Vania anyway. We only just met. Don’t worry too much, Lloyd.

Lloyd: Hmph (leaves)

Cole: Dammit that’s enough, Lloyd! Listen- (sees the monster)

Cole and Monster (simultaneously): AAAAAAAAAAH!

Monster: You’re not Lily! (tries to escape)

Cole: Huh? HEy! Get back here!...Huh?

Winged Guards: Sir, are you alright?!

Cole: This place has got to have some sort of concealed entrance… or a switch or something… how else did he get in?!

Hailmar: Er… who?

Cole: There was this purple monster in my bedroom a second ago, it tried to attack me in my sleep!

[Wu grunts, falling off the bed]

Cole: Emergency ninja meeting! Gather at the 47th floor’s hall!

Wu: Cole....

Cole: Oof, sorry, Master Wu. But we gotta get everyone up!

Jay: Ugh… let me get this straight… you woke me up from bed so unceremoniously for this...

Nya: From a big warm fluffy bed…

Jay: -because you saw ONE monster in your room?

Cole: Well yeah! I just said that! He tried to attack me, so I retaliated, but he ran away and disappeared! But the creepiest part is that he has MY MOTHER’S NECKLACE!

Lloyd: Uh, Cole. Are you sure you��re not just imagining things?

Cole: What do you mean?

Zane: I think he means that you might’ve been having a nightmare

Cole: IT’S NOT A NIGHTMARE! I saw it myself, there were pictures of both my parents in that pendant!

Nya: Um… so where is the necklace?

Cole: I don’t know, it’s not with me. The bugger snatched it before he escaped!

Kai: (yawns) Cole, bros. Let’s just go back to bed…

Wu: It must’ve been a dream, Cole. I’ve never remembered your mother ever wearing a necklace with a pendant.

Cole: She wore it, I’ve seen it in the photos! We have to tell the King!

Lloyd: Calm down, Cole. It’s not that we don’t believe you-

Jay: I don’t believe him

Lloyd: -but we are guests, we can’t just wake the King up in the middle of the night!

Cole: But…

Kai: Cole, bed.

Wu: We’ll talk about this more in the morning, alright?

Cole: HA I got you now, freaky purple mons- Princess Vania?! Oh gosh I’m so sorry, my mistake, really!

Vania: I heard your conversations earlier, about the little purple monster.

Cole: Ah, dangit. You think it’s just my imagination too, don’t you?

Vania: Actually, I don’t think so.

Cole: Really?

Vania: Of course! When I was little I had an imaginary friend, it was a very clingy purple bugger. I had my suspicions that this imaginary friend has indeed come to life… Come with me, this way!

Vania: Over here.

Cole: The palace gardens?

Vania: This was where we used to play together. I called him my little star. Everyone thought he was just an imaginary playmate I made up. But I’m certain that every time he would slip out from that place… right there! There is a system of underground dungeons under the palace, but for the safety of our people, Father ordered it sealed off from the Kingdom.

Cole: Underground dungeons?

Vania: Back before we settled in this place, it was the territory of a powerful evil sorcerer, he created many cities, dungeons and tunnels underground of the mountains. He’s long gone, but the underground cities still exist. My father prohibits anyone from entering, it’s simply too dangerous.

Cole: Princess, regardless of whether it’s prohibited or not, I have to find out why that bugger has my mother’s necklace!

Vania: Well… alright, let’s go together!

Cole: Where’d you get those?

Vania: ‘Always look forward’, that’s my motto.

Cole: But if we get caught by the King…

Vania: I’m not a little kid, you know. I can make my own decisions.

Cole: Well in that case… we’ll not look back!

Cole: Into the evil sorcerer’s lair!

Vania: There were traditional tales of that sorcerer, Hazza D’ur. Isn’t that creepy? Perhaps everyone had weird names then. Legends say he studied many dark arts - oh look! Train tracks. But I don’t know where they go…

Cole: Uh.. I think we’ll go another way.

Vania: In any case, long ago, the sorcerer was defeated. But it is said that his remains are still hidden somewhere within these mountains. Perhaps we might find him! Wouldn’t that be exciting?

Cole: er… yeah, exciting.

Vania: Oh, gosh. Look at these fellas. Little star looks just like them.

Cole: That’s right… the bugger that got in my room looked like that too. But who are they?

Vania: I don’t know… but they look so miserable, and they’re all chained!

Skull Sorcerer: WHO IS IT?! WHO DARES TO SLACK OFF AT WORK?!

Vania: Who is that?

Skull Sorcerer: I HAVE WARNED YOU ALL BEFORE, NEVER STOP WORKING, OR FACE THE PUNISHMENTS! Skull: Punish them! Punish them all!

Cole: I don’t know what’s going on but… but villains won’t escape my justice. And THAT. is definitely a villain. Quick, head back and inform your father, have him summon his troops, and wake up my friends!

Vania: But what about you?

Cole: Well… I’m the Master of Earth, and we’re surrounded by the stuff. I’m like a fish in water!

Skull Sorcerer: The next person who defies me will-

Cole: Hey pal. Nice to meetcha, I’m Cole. I’m a ninja. Heard there was a bad guy here imprisoning and enslaving people, you seen him? Skull Sorcerer: CAPTURE HIM!

Cole: wha? Oh heck no…

Cole: Give me the keys to their chains, or I’m about to get really angry.

Skull Sorcerer: This is no place for you to mess around… now you will see my true powers! Flame of the Skull Sorcerer!

Cole: HUH?! WAIT WHAT’S HAPPENING?!

Skull sorcerer: Flame of the Skull Sorcerer! (maniacal evil laughter)

Fandom: Ninjago

Character: Cole

Trigger Warnings: attempted murder

The handcuffs were cold. They were a stark contrast to the warmth of the night, and Cole was almost grateful for their chill. Almost. Their temperature, of course, did not make up for the way they bit into his wrists, or the way they drained his powers, snatching them up just before they could reach the surface, just before he could make use of them. No, the relieving coolness meant nothing when compared to the severity of the situation he’d found himself in.

Locked up like a caged animal, handcuffed to a metal pipe inside a cell. He didn’t even know what jerk decided to kidnap him, this time. They hadn’t made their appearance yet, and Cole was starting to get impatient.

He tugged at the handcuffs once more, hissing as they dug further into his skin. It was no use.

As he waited in the darkness, he was mildly aware that it was just warm enough that there was sweat dripping down his back. It wasn’t a pleasant feeling, and he wished more than ever that he was with Zane. Zane had always run cold (due to both the fact that he was a robot with metal skin and that he was the literal master of ice), and crowding around him on a warm summer day was always guaranteed to keep you cool.

But Zane wasn't there. Nobody was.

Cole had no way to tell how much time had passed. There were no windows. He thought it may have been a few hours since he regained consciousness, but then again, he could be wrong. He had no way of knowing.

Finally, finally, a door creaked open. Cole sat up attentively, turning to face the front of the cell. Maybe someone had come to let him out (though that was highly improbable).

A light flicked on, and it filled the room with a dim glow. Cole could see a man standing in front of his cell, dangling a ring of keys off his finger and twirling them like he had no care in the world.

“Let’s make this quick and simple.” He said, and Cole had to suppress a groan, because now there was no way it was going to be quick and simple. “Tell me how to defeat the Green Ninja, and we’ll let you go.”

Cole couldn’t suppress his laughter. “Defeat Lloyd? You mean the kid who took down the Overlord? The physical embodiment of darkness and evil? Sorry pal, but I could tell you every weakness he has, and you still wouldn’t be able to put a scratch on him.”

This response, apparently, wasn’t what the man was looking for. They went back and forth for a few minutes, the man growing angrier each time, and Cole growing steadily more worried. Something about this guy seemed… off. Deranged, almost.

Finally, he left, and Cole was left alone in the dark.

Cole had never been very fond of the dark. He could handle it, he wasn’t afraid of it, couldn’t be, really, what with being a ninja and all. But there was such a difference between darkness when you were at home and darkness when you’d been captured by someone who really, really didn’t like you.

Sleep didn’t come. He was too on-edge, too nervous to let down his guard.

Eventually, the man came back. Cole didn’t know how long it had been. It felt like hours, or even days, but captivity could be messing with his head, making him go insane.

The man had two other guys with him, and wordlessly, they freed him from the cell. It was a relief to finally be free of that stupid pipe, but the vengestone handcuffs stayed. Great. They lead him down a hall, and while he wanted to believe he could have easily fought them off, it was three to one, he was powerless and restrained, and sleep deprivation was a bigger hit than he’d like to admit.

They came to a stop in a room that’s purpose wasn’t clear. Nothing in particular about the room stood out to Cole, and he was already forgetting the route they’d taken from point A to point B.

“Let’s try this one more time.” The man from before said, crossing his arms regally behind his back like he was some kind of king. “How do I defeat the Green Ninja?”

“Like I told you before, you can’t.” Cole replied, unsure how to make it any clearer to the guy. Sure, Cole knew all of Lloyd’s strengths and weakness, but everyone who’d ever tried to take him down before had failed drastically. Honestly, this dude’s chances were even lower than everyone else’s.

“Well then,” the man said, taking a step closer to Cole, looking down on him. “I guess I have no use for you.”

That was a concerning statement. Cole was pretty sure that he wasn’t intending to let him go, but what else could he mean?

The pain came before an answer did. Something crashed into the back of his skull, and everything around him numbed.

When Cole came to, he was still handcuffed. That was about all that was the same, apparently, because now he was in some sort of… something really, really small. Almost instantly, his breathing quickened. He’d never been good in tight spaces. They freaked him out, made him feel boxed in. This was a more literal interpretation of it, but still, the panic was rising quickly.

Everything was so incredibly cramped, and Cole really, really wanted to get out of there. The space was so small, too small, he could barely breathe, he needed out.

“Hey!” He shouted, “let me out of here!” It was unlikely to work, but maybe someone was near. Maybe someone could hear him.

“Sorry, kid,” was the reply, “but you aren’t getting out for a long, long time.”

No, he was getting out, he had to. He was a ninja, and ninja never quit. He was going to get out. But first he needed to figure out what the hell was going on in the first place.

He kicked, but it didn’t do anything. Great, just great. He was trapped in this tiny place, and it was going to crush him, he just knew it. He kicked again, and the thud reverberated through his tiny prison.

“What’s going on?” He shouted, desperate to at least know.

“I’d recommend not wasting your breath, I hear oxygen runs out real quick when you’re underground.”

Underground? Why would he be…?

Wait. Wait, no, wait. This was a coffin. Oh fuck, oh FSM, oh no.

The walls felt like they were closing in on him, and as each shovel-full of dirt rained across the top of the coffin, the sounds from above muffled even further.

“Let me out!” He screamed, pounding against the top. “Let me out, please!” He would do anything, he just needed out, he couldn’t die, not like this, he needed to get out!

He slammed his hands against the top frantically, pushing on it with all his might. All it resulted in was dirt falling through the cracks in the wood and landing on his face.

He screamed louder, slamming and slamming, but nothing would work. With every passing second, the air felt thicker, like it would run out any minute. What little light had been aiding him was very quickly blocked out by the ever piling dirt.

He needed to get the handcuffs off. If he did that, then he could use his elemental powers to get the dirt off, and he could kick off the top of the coffin, and he could find the others, and… something. He didn’t know, just something.

He pulled and tugged at them, but nothing was working, and time was running out. He had no idea how long he could stay alive like this, but he was sure it wasn’t long.

Eventually, his screams died down. His throat burned, the air was thick, and breaths were becoming harder and harder to take. Tears filled his eyes, rolling down his temples and landing in his hair.

He was going to die like this. Killed by his own element, and nothing he could do about it. It was almost poetic, if it wasn’t so pathetic.

Weakly, he strained at the handcuffs once more, tugging with all his might (which, admittedly, wasn’t much at this point).

He was never going to see his friends again, was he? He had failed them. He never got to tell his dad goodbye. Just like…

The ringing in his ears increased violently. He was going to be just like his mom. Her death had been sudden, and neither of them had ever gotten to say goodbye. It had crushed them, torn them apart, and it had taken years to heal. Cole couldn’t put his dad through that again, it would kill him.

With a new sense of vigor, Cole began to kick the top of the coffin, this time with both feet. His hood was long gone, but he needed something to breathe through. He pulled at some of the fabric of his gi, lifting it to cover his mouth. It would have to do.

He kicked as hard as he could, putting every ounce of strength into it. He wasn’t going to leave his family behind.

Finally, the top broke. Dirt rained down, and Cole stood as much as he could. Slowly, painstakingly, he dug with his chained hands, reaching for the light. He could do this, for his dad.

Finally, after what could have been five minutes or five years, Cole was out. The world was spinning around him, and he found that balance was difficult to keep. He stumbled away from the grave, preparing himself for a fight.

“Cole!” He heard, and oh, was that Jay? They’d found him, that was… that was good. His head felt empty, and thinking really, really hurt.

Unable to keep himself up, he let himself crash to the ground and let the darkness overtake him.

When Cole woke up, it was not in his bed. Still, he knew this bed, it was familiar. That didn’t mean he liked it (it was better than the alternative).

With a groan, Cole opened his eyes, disappointed and relieved all at once to find himself in the med bay of the Bounty (it was better than the dark).

“What… happened?” He asked, slowly sitting up. His mind was fuzzy. The others rushed to help him, and it was almost nice, if not overwhelming.

“Dude, you dug yourself out of a grave,” Kai said, putting emphasis on so many words that Cole almost wasn’t keeping up.

“Oh.” He said, thinking for a minute. Yeah, he remembered that.

“I’m so glad you’re okay! Zane made you a cake while you were asleep, you know, like a “congratulations, you’re not dead!” type of cake.” Jay said. If Cole’s head was working fast enough to process anything, he would have known that Jay only brought up cake to distract himself from the anxiety that was bound to come with almost losing your best friend. But Cole’s head wasn’t working enough to process anything, so he took this as, well, Zane had made cake!

Well, Cole did love cake. He also happened to love not-dying.

“How are you feeling?” Lloyd asked, his voice the gentlest of the bunch.

Zane seemed to know that he needed time to think of an answer, and pressed a plate of cake into his hands. Cole couldn’t help but smile a bit, happy to be distracted, taking a bite while he gathered his thoughts.

“I’ve been better,” he answered honestly. “But I’ve also been worse.”

The others nodded, everyone saying various sympathetic things to make him feel better.

At some point, when the slice of cake was half gone, Cole’s grip tightened around the fork as, for the first time since he’d awakened, he really, truly thought about his experience. His brain was finally catching up, it seemed.

He’d nearly suffocated down there. He’d been all but helpless, waiting to die. His own element threatening to put a bullet in his head — the earth had never been more out of his control.

“I’m just… um, can I have a minute?” he asked, staring a hole into the plate gripped tight in his hands.

“Of course,” Nya said for everybody, and she practically dragged them all out. The door shut gently, and Cole was left alone. He put the cake aside, hugging his legs to his chest. He dropped his head onto his knees, and the fabric grew wet with teardrops faster than he could take a breath.

After the two days of winter Zane brought forward, Sensei Wu double banned pranks. He banned them before but now he banned them with the consequence of several hours of community service in Ninjago City- with no powers. They were already busy helping the city pull itself together again and it sucked. Doing it longer than they needed? Pass. It's been a month since then and another major incident hasn't really happened. There were near misses but nothing too extreme. They haven't quite found a way to voluntarily use these new powers as yet but they were still trying. Sensei Wu thinks if they find the key to voluntarily use these powers, it will unlock a way to control them, even when they were angry or upset.

“You know, how cool is it that I can control the sun?” Kai says, reaching a hand up towards it, trying to move it in the sky and failing.

“And I, the moon. It is quite the phenomenon.” Zane mused from where he was meditating nearby.

“I could make quakes before but nothing like the ones I made then! Like, I bet if I tried, just a little bit, I could level this whole mountain!” Cole grinned from his place laying on the ground in the shade.

“Yeah, let's not… Do that.” Lloyd says with a grimace, glancing over at him then turning back to the practice dummy, going at it in hand to hand combat.

“You know what they say: with great power comes great responsibility.” Nya says, focusing on making various shapes with an orb of water she summoned.

“I would say that's pretty boring but I've learnt my lesson.” Jay says, flopped over on the stairs to the inside.

“I certainly hope so.” Zane huffed, keeping his eyes closed.

“Well, I guess your powers would be bad if someone got struck.” Kai shrugged and Jay frowned. “And I guess Nya's would be bad if it didn't stop raining…” He added and she looked over at him with an arched brow.

“When you put it that way, Lloyd's powers are completely harmless. Auroras are rather beautiful however.” Zane added and Lloyd blinked then narrowed his eyes.

“Our powers are just as bad as yours.” Jay says defensively.

“It's really not.” Cole says as he sat up. “I mean, lightning is pretty normal and so is rain. Auroras may be rare but not unheard of. Kai can literally hold the sun in the sky and create heat waves like nothing you've ever felt. Zane can do the same for the moon and he can bury Ninjago under inches of snow in minutes. I can level everything in just a few shakes. It's not that I'm saying your powers are weak or useless but ours are just… More powerful, more dangerous.” He told them with a shrug.

“Cole is correct.” Zane agreed.

“Yeah. No offense.” Kai says to them with a one shoulder shrug.

“None taken.” Lloyd says dryly.

Offence was fully taken.

“Can you believe those three? Our powers may not be as bad as theirs but dammit, we're valid!” Jay growled irritably after they split up for a mission, thunder rolling overhead.

“Cool it Jay.” Lloyd cautioned as they searched the museum for the thief trying to hide them out.

“I'm trying.” Jay says after taking a deep breath. “It's just- really gets under my skin.” He says irritably, a thin spark of electricity traveling up his arm.

“Look, it posses me off too but we can't afford to let another incident happen again. Especially not while we're in the middle of Ninjago City.” Nya told him as she held her sais defensively. “Don't think about it. That actually helps.” She advised as they entered the hall holding animatronics.

“Yeah, alright.” He sighed, looking around instead. “You know, maybe animatronics weren't the best idea for a museum. Have these people ever heard of Five Nights at Freddy's?” He says, walking over to the animatronic of himself.

“Jay-”

“Lightning!” They all jumped once his animatronic spoke, nearly giving Jay himself a heart attack.

“Holy fish sticks.” He got out, a hand held over his chest.

“Jay, stop fooling around. We have perp to catch.” Lloyd says with a sigh.

“R-right.” He grinned sheepishly before returning to their side.

“Kai, any signs of them?” Nya asked from the comms.

They only got static back.

“Kai?” She questioned but received no answer.

“Guys? Are you there?” Lloyd tried his but only heard static. “Jay.”

“What? I'm not doing it on purpose!” Jay huffed, crossing his arms.

His electricity sometimes messes with their comms like this but he and Nya made these ones. He was sure they would have been ok… Oh well.

“I'll look in the next room.” He says, already walking towards it as they checked the comms again.

He looked around as he spun his nunchucks idly. That perp must have either escaped or have already been caught. Nothing looked stolen anyway. He looked around then perked up, realizing that this area held the gift shop. He looked around before dashing towards it with a grin. He picked up a snow globe before shaking it, watching the particles fall over the Grundle hunting its prey. Nice. He noticed movement in the reflection of the snow globe and quickly turned around. His eyes widened at the sight of the masked figure holding a metal spear then jumped out of the way before he was speared.

“Woah! Careful with that thing!” Jay yelled, getting to his feet, holding his nunchucks defensively.

“Or what?” Jay was surprised and confused to hear the familiar voice.

“Zane?!” He says, alarmed then blocked his next swing with the chain of his nunchucks.

“Guess again.” The masked person says again, attacking quickly but Jay kept blocking, despite his confusion when the person sounded like Kai now.

“What is this? Are you some kind of skrull?” Jay accused then ducked out of the way of the person’s and punched them in the gut, making them stumble back.

“Cheap shot.” They said in Cole’s voice then cracked their neck.

“Look, I don’t know who you are or why the heck you sound like all of my friends but I do know you’re going down.” Jay says, channeling his lightning into his golden nunchucks.

“Oh really? You take me down?” They sounded like Nya now and very cocky.

He didn’t know what they aimed to do, changing their voice every time they spoke like they did, but he wasn’t about to get taken down by this wannabe.

“Lightning!” Jay yelled, using his nunchuck to zap the person dead on.

He looked alarmed when they didn’t even look phased. They didn’t even falter.

“What? Did you really expect that to work?” Oh great, Lloyd’s voice now. “Face it Jay. You’re the weakest one on the team. It’s about time someone took your place.” They said as they began circling each other.

Jay scoffed.

“What? You think you can take my place?” Jay asked, unphased. “News flash!” He struck again with a bigger bolt of lightning but they only stepped back before stepping forward again.

“I’m the only lightning elemental here.” He says, thinking of taking this person down.

“Oh I wouldn’t be so so sure about that.” The person says, using Jay’s own voice.

Jay was about to make a crack at that but then the person brought their hands together and his mouth dropped open to see them charging electricity in their palms.

“I’m sure you find this shocking!” They yelled, using his voice still before they blasted Jay, making him yelp as he skid back then fell over from the powerful blast.

“Ok, this is a little scary.” Jay grunted to himself as he got back to his feet.

“Even my electricity is better than yours, stronger even. Face it Jay, you don’t stand a chance.” They said as they walked towards him, electricity cackling along their hands.

“Uh guys! Now would be a great time to jump in!” He yelled out to the other room.

“Don’t worry about them, they’re not there.” The person says in his own voice then stood before Jay. “Zane gave them the tip that they found the perpetrator on the roof of the museum and you’re already on your way there.” They said using Zane’s voice then pulled off the mask and Jay looked at them wide eyed.

They looked almost exactly like him. Same hair, same round face, same appearance but a closer look showed their nose was just a little narrower and a little more crooked and their freckles were thinner and dotted differently than his.

When plastic surgery runs wild.

“With that, we should hurry this up. My new team will be here any second now.” They said again, a blue light coming from the collar around their neck.

That must be how they talk like them but how can they use lightning?!

He ducked out of the way of the next attack before charging, swinging his nunchucks at their head. They ducked them punched him in the gut, making Jay grunt as he stumbled back.

I can’t believe I fell for my own move!

“Are you realizing now, Jay? You’re nothing but the weakest link. The ninja need a stronger, faster, better member. I bet they’ll be glad to have you gone.” They hummed, circling Jay.

“Jay’s such an idiot. He can’t even focus on a mission. Here we are, needing to catch the intruder and there he is, playing with snow globes!” They said in Kai’s voice and Jay flinched at that.

Kai never said that. They’re just trying to get into my head…

“After analyzing our team dynamics, it is proven that Jay is the weakest member on our team. His physical strength is lacking and his powers are weak.” They continued on in Zane’s voice.

No. Zane wouldn’t say-

Their conversation earlier came to mind.

‘Well, I guess your powers would be bad if someone got struck.’

‘It's really not. I mean, lightning is pretty normal.’

‘Cole is correct.’

Jay gritted his teeth, lightning arching along his arms. The Jay knock off didn’t notice, too busy monologuing with his friend’s voices.

“Face it Jay. You’re as useless as useless gets.” They said in Cole’s voice, only adding fuel to the fire.

The nerve of them! Sure he couldn’t raise the sun or lower the moon or split Ninjago in two with a sneeze but he wasn’t weak! He was valid! His powers mean something! Outside on the roof, the ninja finally met up, all of them confused.

“Where’s the perpetrator?” Lloyd asked Zane.

“I do not understand. You said you had caught them up here in the comms.” Zane says with a frown.

“Uh, what’s going on here?” Kai says, confused.

“We were bamboozled, that’s what’s going on.” Cole says with a frown.

“Where’s Jay?” Nya says, looking around with a frown.

A huge clap of thunder had them flinching before looking up wide eyed at the night sky. The sky was overcast from the rain that fell before but they didn’t hide the lightning continuously arching and dancing in the sky.

“We need to get back down there fast.” Lloyd whispered before they all took off.

Jay on the other hand was thinking himself into a spiral, sneering at his own thoughts.

He had use! He had purpose! He may not be the strongest or fastest or even the smartest but he does his best! Sure he may joke around during serious situations but it was only because he couldn’t handle the stress of those situations!

The lightning arcing against his body became bigger, wrapping around him like a serpent as his eyes glowed. The intruder noticed this and scowled.

“Your fancy little light-show won’t change the fact that you’re nothing but a waste of space on the team!” They yelled at him, charging even more lightning into their hands then blasting it at Jay.

They looked on alarmed once Jay seemed to absorb it before he floated off the ground, his hair turning into a glowing blue, raised on end. Glowing white lines crawled up his face, creating a sharp swirling pattern over his cheeks and forehead. The perpetrator stepped back, seeming to realize that they were way over their heads now. Jay was getting hard to look at, only glowing brighter.

“Jay!” The perp looked past him to see the other ninja rushing towards him before turning around and taking off.

This won’t be the last time they see them!

“He’s gonna blow!” Cole says as they stopped in their tracks, watching him glow even brighter.

“Get down!” Kai yelled and they quickly dove behind a display stand just as the electric energy Jay kept building went off in the form of a massive electromagnetic pulse, shattering glass and short circuiting every single power source it came across as it rapidly expanded past the city and even further out.

The team of ninja had to quickly throw down their ear pieces before it could electrocute them in the process. Outside, they could hear the alarmed sounds of the citizens of Ninjago City as everything that needed electricity or even batteries went out, plunging the city, all of Ninjago into darkness.

“Zane!” Lloyd was the once to yell when he fell over, his eyes dark.

“Let me see.” Nya says, crawling over and taking a look at him. “It looks like he just shorted out but I won’t know for sure. I’ll have to get to Borg Tower to see for sure.” She told them before looking out to were Jay was still floating, lightning shooting out of him much like one would see in a plasma ball.

“You two need to apologize to him now.” She says, looking at both Cole and Kai.

“What did we do?!” Kai asked, alarmed.

“Yeah! I’m not lightning proof you know!” Cole says, a little terrified to go out there.

“Look, it was all three of your insensitive comments about our powers compared to yours that made this happen. Zane is offline so he can’t apologize but you two aren’t.” Lloyd told them firmly.

“And if you don’t hurry up, he’ll go off again.” Nya told them sharply.

A quick look showed that he was indeed charging lightning again.

“Ok, ok.” Kai says then took a breath.

Both he and Cole looked at each other before heading out, yelping when they were immediately almost struck by lightning. They managed to not get stuck and took the place the perp once was standing.

“Jay!” Cole yelled over the sound of cackling lightning and he looked down at them with his oddly glowing eyes and sneered, revealing fangs that glowed bright white as did the rest of his teeth.

“Don’t electrocute us!” Kai was quick to say once he held a hand in their direction. “Just hear us out! Please!” He begged, not wanting to feel Jay’s divine wrath.

He didn’t lower his hand but he didn’t attack so that’s a plus.

“We’re sorry we’re insensitive jerks about your powers! We really didn’t mean to hurt or upset you!” Kai yelled out to him.

“Yeah! Lightning is way powerful! We were just idiots not to see that! Believe me when I say, we see it now! Your powers are just as powerful as ours! All of yours are!” Cole says, looking across at Nya and Lloyd who were peeking out from behind the display, its glass shattered. “I know Zane would be apologizing too if he wasn’t offline right now but you’re our friend and we promise to be more considerate!” He told Jay and he looked over to where Nya and Lloyd were.

He then turned fully to where they were and Kai and Cole had a moment to panic once he floated towards them, thinking they had somehow turned Jay on them.

“Jay!”

“H-hold on!”

Their yells were ignored as he floated around to where they were, Nya and Lloyd creeping backwards a little terrified. He didn’t seem interested in them however. He looked down at an offline Zane before charging electricity in his hand, making them all panic now.

“Zane’s sorry!”

“Don’t do this Jay!”

Jay ignored them and blasted Zane with a bolt of electricity. Before they could even think of attacking Jay, Zane sat up with an unneeded gasp, his systems rebooted so suddenly, it left him scrambling for his bearings. He blinked up at Jay owlishly just before the lightning ninja closed his eyes, his powers fading as he passed out. Zane quickly caught him on reflex before blinking down at the glowing blue streak in hs hair. Well then.

A long moment of silence passed in the room.

“So uh, how do we explain this to Sensei Wu?” Nya spoke up and they all grimaced.

Jay felt guilty sitting before the TV late the next day. Getting the power on was easy but Ninjago City has a lot of glass related damage. Not to mention the cars stuck in the roads still. No-one died and the only ones injured was his look alike. Apparently they wore an elaborate get up under their clothes that involved a lot of powerful batteries. It was what made them appear as if they also had the power of lightning. The EMP short-circuited it and gave them quite a shock in the process. Let’s just say they would have scars to look back on. None of that helped his guilt however. He brought his hand up to his face, seeing the lazy arching of lightning between them. While anger and intense emotions fuel this power, sadness and guilt does the opposite.

He reached up and toyed with the ever glowing streak of blue towards the front of his hair. Sensei believes he’s unlocked the full potential for this power and had called in the other elemental masters to take care of things in Ninjago until they all had. He had right to fear what destruction unlocking the rest of their powers could bring forth. His was the most predictable yet no-one expected his powers to be felt continent wide. It put their poor Sensei on edge. There wasn’t any sign or cause for their powers to suddenly evolve like that and still no signs of how to control them. It had the Monastery shrouded in a gloomy atmosphere.

“Jay.” He jolted at his name then looked over his shoulder meekly to look at Zane.

“Hey…” He says awkwardly, rubbing the back of his neck.

He was surprised he wanted to talk to him after he made him go offline like that.

“I never got the chance to apologize.” Zane says as he took a seat next to him.

“You don’t have to. Really.” Jay says, looking down at his hands. “I mean, at least you were knocked offline. I could have really hurt your systems.” He says quietly.

“But you didn’t.” Zane pointed out and Jay frowned. “You would not have been in that state if I had been more insightful. If anything, it was a dose of karma.” He says and Jay looked at him borderline horrified.

“No-one deserves something like that happening to them, especially over something so simple.” Jay paused to consider. “I’ll forgive you but only if you forgive me.” He offered and Zane smiled.

“I think I can work with that ultimatum.” He agrees and Jay smiled back.

“Who do you think will reach their potential next?” Jay asked, changing the TV channel.

“It is hard to say. When unlocking our true potentials, you were first but I think it is unlikely the same phenomenon will happen again. Perhaps Kai. Or Nya. Cole even. Perhaps even I. Like I said, it’s hard to say.” Zane shrugged.

“I guess.” Jay says, returning his focus on the TV.

Lloyd frowned from the doorway. He wasn’t even on the list of possibilities.

Lloyd didn’t know why he let it get to him. It wasn’t that Zane didn’t mention him that bothered him, but the likeliness that he wouldn't actually have anything to unlock. He wasn't stupid. The auroras were just a timed coincidence. Kai sending more heat from the sun like he had must have triggered it. He was meant to be the green ninja. Nothing more, nothing less. He bounced the tennis ball against the wall again, catching it a second later. The question now was how to break the news to the others. He threw the ball again the caught it, holding it as he stared at the wall. Now that they had their newer, stronger powers, would they even need him anymore? He gripped the ball tightly, gritting his teeth just as tightly. He should be happy. Being the Green Ninja was never any fun. Some nights, he wished destiny had chosen someone else. But not being the Green Ninja meant not having his friends. He would probably have to leave the Monastery and just disappear. Careful what you wish for as they say. He looked down at the green ball. Looks like the legacy of the green ninja ends here.

Lloyd watched as Jay practiced with his new powers for the first time, everyone watching him in awe. He didn't know how he set it off, just that it had gone off. He wasn't charging energy or anything but he was levitating again and his hair was blue. The marks on his face were also along his arms and legs, stopping in a jagged swirl around the back of his hands and the tops of his feet. When he spoke to warn them he was going to try and call a bolt of lightning, his voice sounded all echoey and- godly even. They covered their ears at the loud clap of thunder once he did it successfully then watched in awe as he held the lightning bolt and molded it into a pair of nunchucks. The lightning at the handles faded, leaving a material similar to chronosteel in its wake, lightning arcing between both handles.

“So cool.” Jay says as his powers faded, leaving him slowly floating down to his feet, still holding the nunchucks.

“It’s like an alternative version of the Golden Nunchucks of Lightning…” Nya says in awe.

“Hey, could we do that too?” Cole asked, excitedly.

“There is a high possibility.” Sensei Wu agreed.

Lloyd looked away sadly and walked back into the Monastery. That was an epic show of power and he didn't even know what he was doing. Imagine what would happen when he does? Imagine what would happen when they all do. He heard into their room and took a picture of himself and his father from under his pillow. He didn't know where his father disappeared to after everything with the Oni. It was as if he left the realm completely- and that wasn't as impossible as he had once thought.

“If things were different, maybe I could have gone with you dad…” He whispered, heart aching as he looked at his purified father.

He then flinched at another loud clap of lightning and frowned at the cheers that came after. He shouldn't wait for them to tell him to go. He should leave while he still had some dignity left. He reached under his bed for the duffle bag there and began packing.

“Alright, maybe we should put away the overpowered nunchucks before people begin to think some huge storm is coming.” Cole says as Jay grinned at his new nunchucks.

“That would be best. Lunch will get cold.” Zane says as he stood up.

“Lunch!”

“Yes!”

“I'm starving!”

“Lunchie munchie time!” Jay says with a grin, filtering in with the rest.

“Jay, what?” Nya says and he gave an embarrassed grin.

“One of you should get Lloyd.” Zane says as he slipped on his pink apron.

“Got it.” Nya says then headed into their room. “Hey Lloyd lunch is-” She cut herself off, realizing no-one was there.

She frowned then went over to the bathroom and knocked. Before she could call to see if he was there, the door squeaked opened to reveal an empty bathroom. Getting worried, she made quick work of checking the other rooms and came up short. She even checked outside with no results.

"Guys." She panted once she walked into the dining area, everyone looking at her confused. "Lloyd's gone." She told them and they gasped.

Lloyd swiped the sweat away from his brows as he continued to walk in the Sea of Sand, planning on spending the night in the old Anacondrai tomb before heading off to find somewhere people won't recognize him. He'd just squeeze himself into a nice village and everything will be fine. The Ninja didn't need him anymore. Not when they would all soon have powers far beyond his own. He pulled the bottle of water he stashed from his bag then took a few gulps before continuing on, seeing the tomb in the distance. Once he got there, he dropped the duffle bag then sat in the shade close to the entrance of the tomb and rested his tired feet. He's been walking for hours on end and he was really tired. He spared a moment to wonder if they've noticed that he was gone. Would they even bother looking for him?

He had thought of leaving a letter but they were smart. They'd figure out why he left. He leaned back against the tomb wall and closed his eyes. They'd probably be grateful that he left without them needing to tell him to go. They were better off anyway. They were always the ones meant to keep Ninjago in tact. He sighed. He'd miss them but they won't miss him. He looked away. If only he had power like they did. He could stay then. Be apart of the team but he was weak… And no-one wanted a weak leader. He looked down at the tennis ball he had in hand, not sure why he brought it along. He wished he was just a little stronger, had just a little more power. They were more than his friends. They were family.

He missed then already…

"Any idea where he would go?" Kai asked as he paced the length of the bridge.

"No. He could have gone anywhere. Traffic cameras in Ninjago City are down and still in the process of being repaired after the EMP hit so we can't know without going there." Nya told them as she and Zane ran a search.

"What else can we check?" Cole asked, anxiously.

"I'm afraid there's nothing much we can do…" Zane says with a frown, hands moving at an inhumane speed against the control panel.

"Ugh!" Jay says, pacing too.

"Perhaps the sky may help us." Sensei Wu says and they all frowned but walked out.

They all gasped at the bright, familiar aurora borealis streaking across the sky, flowing in the opposite direction they were going.

"Quick! Follow it!" Nya yelled as she ran back inside the bridge, taking the wheel.

She then swerved and sent the Bounty full speed towards the source.

"I'm detecting high levels of radiation ahead." Zane says minutes later, walking over to the computer to check.

"Radiation? I don't understand." Nya says with a frown.

"But I do." Jay says after a moment. "Zane! What's radiation?" He asked his Nindroid friend who looked at him puzzled.

Didn't he say he understood? He answered anyway.

"Radiation is the emission of energy as electromagnetic waves or as moving subatomic particles, especially high-energy particles which cause ionization…" Zane whispered the last bit then looked at Jay. "You think he's unlocking his powers as well?" He says to Jay who grinned.

"But what set it off? How do we end the episode?" Nya asked them.

"That's… The hard part. We won't know unless we talk to him." Jay says with a single shoulder shrug.

"Then I must be the one to go. These increasing levels of radiation can and will kill you." He told them and they weren't very happy sending him alone but what other choice do they have?

"Alright. But be careful. We can't go all the way in so take your mech." Nya told him and he nods before heading down below deck.

He then headed to the holding area, climbing into his white mech and powering it up.

"This is as far as we can go. Anything beyond this would be dangerous for us." Nya says through the comms so Zane could hear from the suit.

"I'm ready." Zane says, looking at the screen showing her and the others in the bridge.

"Dropping now." She says then pressed a button that allowed the bottom of the Bounty to open.

He then hopped out, landing the mech on its feet.

"Here I go." He says, heading further into the source of the radiation.

"And while he does that, I'll send out a warning to every nearby city and village." Nya says, leaving the steering wheel to head back to the computer.

"I wonder why he left in the first place…" Cole says as he walked out next to Sensei Wu.

"Only time will tell." Wu says calmly, despite the worry over his nephew he felt.

"The old Anacondrai tomb… but why would he come here?" Zane says as he walked towards it, a frown on his face.

"That's what we're about to find out." Nya says from the comms.

He walked closer and soon saw Lloyd himself walk out then stepped back.

"Lloyd." Zane says in relief but Lloyd obviously wasn't happy to see him.

"What are you doing here? How did you find me?" He asked as Zane stopped in his tracks.

"We came to find you, to bring you home. We found you by-"

"Wait, we?" Lloyd says, cutting Zane off. "As in the others?" He asked, stepping even father back.

"Yeah Lloyd. We came to take you home." Jay spoke from the comms, the volume loud enough for Lloyd to hear.

"Why did you run off like this? We were worried! We still are!" Nya says next and Lloyd gritted his teeth.

"You shouldn't have come." Lloyd says as he turned away and stalked off.

"Why shouldn't we? Lloyd, speak to us, to me. We don't understand what's going on. Let us help you." Zane says, following after him and Lloyd growls.

"Help me by leaving me alone!" He snapped at Zane, whirling around as his green energy began to arc and flash around him. "I left for a reason! I'd rather leave before you guys tell me to!" He yelled, eyes glowing green as his energy continued to grow and so did the radiation, the super charged particles around him taking on a green glow.

"Crap! We need to get away now!" Nya's panicked voice came from the comms and Zane switched it off, just so he could focus on Lloyd.

He left the video on however.

"We would never tell you to leave Lloyd. Why would you-"

"AARGH!" He growled, a glowing streak of green lighting its way through his hair, the tips taking on the same color as he began to float. "Don't you get it Zane! You're supposed to be the smart one! You're a Nindroid after all!" He yelled, his voice taking on that echoey tone but far louder.

"I can't get anything if you don't-"

"I don't have any powers Zane!" He snapped at his friend, confusing Zane completely, even as he watched the bright green swirls, similar to Jay's make their way on his face.

Unlike Jay's, his were perfectly swirled using perfectly curved patterns. He watched wide eyed as two smaller swirls made their way high on his forehead before dark horns began to grow in, swirled from tip to base in the same green.

"Kai was the one to create the auroras! His heat was the one to make it happen! It was just a coincidence! All I'll ever be is the green ninja! I wasn't meant to have powers like you do! I'm not meant to be or have any more than I have now! Don't you see?! I'll only drag you all down!" He yelled and with that, another huge wave of radiation pulsed out of him.

Zane snapped himself out of his shock and awe. He knew he had to stop this before the radiation field spread to villages- or worse: Ninjago City.

"Lloyd! Listen to me!" Zane yelled.

"No! You listen to me!" He yelled at Zane, floating right over to him, directly before him. "I'll only drag the team down! I've already been dragging the team down! You guys are better off if I leave! I was trying to do you all a favor! Now let me leave!" He demanded, warning signals going off in the suit.

"I can't do that!" Zane yelled back and Lloyd only grew angrier, the entire sky turning green. "Open your eyes Lloyd! You do have power! How else could you be as tall as I am in this mech?" He says, softening his tone towards the end and Lloyd was about to yell then paused.

He looked down and realized that he was floating off the ground.

"What?..." Lloyd whispered, floating back, looking down at his hands.

He then turned them over and saw the swirls on them glowing green.

"Even if you didn't have this power, we wouldn't care. You're our family Lloyd. Our brother. We love you as you are. Power or no power. We would never ask you to leave either nor do we want you to." Zane says, and Lloyd looked up at him. "It wouldn't be home without you." He says and Lloyd's eyes filled with light green glowing tears that poured from his cheeks.

His eyes then rolled back as he began to fall. Zane was quick to catch him with the mech, watching as his powers faded away, the horns leaving with it. He sighed in relief then smiled at Lloyd. He spotted movement from the corner of his eye then turned to see Nya waving at him. He quickly flipped on the audio again.

"Yeah but before you do…" Jay says and Zane frowned at that. "Make sure to stop by the decontamination shower we had Cyrus set up outside the radiation zone. It should be done by the time you get there. No offense but I'd like to keep living." Jay says and Zane huffed.

"Seems fair." He nodded.

SO TODAY AT SCHOOL-

THE BEST THING HAPPENED TO ME HAPPENED TODAY AND I’M STILL SCREAMING-

So I was in algebra and it was the end of class, so I asked my teacher how his weekend was. He said it was great and asked me how was mine, to which I responded with, “I binge-watched my favorite show. I watched like two seasons.”

“Which show?”

I got really nervous because I’m worried about people knowing I watch it and kept darting around it. Eventually I just thought ‘Screw it’ and just said-

“Ah it was a Lego show…”

AND GUYS LEMME TELL YOU HIS EYES WIDENED AND HE FROZE UP AS HE ASKED ME, “Is it NINJAGO?”

AND MY HEART WANTED TO DIE HE KNEW HE WATCHES IT- I SAID YEAH AND HE SAID “NINJAGO’S AWESOME!!! I watch it with my kid all the time- He loves it!!!”

HE THEN STARTED TO NAME OFF THE CHARACTERS AND THIS OTHER STUFF ABOUT THE SHOW AND SAYS HE WANTS TO SHOW HIS KID NEXO KNIGHTS SINCE ITS ANOTHER LEGO SHOW AND HE THINKS HE’LL ENJOY IT AND I AGREED RIGHT AWAY THAT’S A GOOD ONE TOO-

AHHH I WANTED TO CRY MY TEACHERS KNOWS NINJAGO AND WATCHES IT- IM GONNA BUY THAT MAN A ZANE KEYCHAIN HE DESERVES IT I LOVE HIM SO MUCH.

BEST DAY EVER- My algebra teacher’s like 5'4, possibly nearing his late 30s, bald, very loud, talks really fast, and honestly is a bit scary since he can roast literally anyone he talks to but knowing that he watches it with his son makes me really happy.

Never Getting Rid of Me (One-Sided Coletraviolet) (Ninjago Valentine’s Week - Day Two)

Day Two: Crackship / Rareship- Okay I don’t really think I have any so I kind of cheated and did a Coletraviolet crackship because there are moments when I believe she’s obsessed with Cole? Headcanons? She kind of is?

This isn’t my best, it’s the first time I’ve written something like this, but this, like yesterdays oneshot, wouldn’t leave my head (yesterdays was better so if you think this sucks read yesterdays instead haha) but this one is also depressing and about Cole so I’m going to try and make the next few not about Cole, and not depressing! I hope someone can actually enjoy this:)

Warning: unconsented kissing and mentions of unconsented touching (i.e. pulling at hips and running of hands along a body, nothing graphic at all!!). I’m not sure if this needs a warning for that but figured I’d warn anyways!

(sorry if this sucks! Okay. Here I go. I’ll stop ranting about this now)

When Cole finally managed to find The Bounty after escaping the Sons of Garmadon, all he wanted to do was collapse onto his bed and sleep the past few days away.

He brushed off his teammate’s concerned questions about how he was. If he was okay. If they hurt him. He simply muttered that he was fine.

He brushed off the questions as to why he was holding a child.

He simply handed the child to Nya before telling the group he needed to lay down.

When he was finally away from the hoards of questions, from people, and the bars keeping him contained, he sighed, carefully lowering his sore self onto his bed. First Spinjitzu Master, the last few days had been quite a ride, and a horrible one at that.

Seconds after he closed his eyes, though, he opened them again. All he could see was her face. Her horrible, ugly, heavily powdered face.

He didn’t want to think of Ultra Violet.

He didn’t want to think of the way that she had pulled his hands behind his back and bound them, how she had carelessly thrown him over her shoulder then tied him to the back of the bike, knocking him unconscious as soon as he was secure.

How she had visited him more than once during his stay, her eyes travelling up and down his body, her lips parted as she hurled insults and degrading flirtatious comments his way.

Thinking about her, about the things she had said to him made him sick.

No matter how hard he’d tried to forget, he couldn’t.

He couldn’t forget the day she had entered his cell.

She had stood outside of it, gazing at him with lust and wonder. He had felt nervous. He couldn’t forget how she had said to him, “You’re a beautiful boy, do you know that?” as she began to approach him, how she had held a knife to his throat before forcing venge stone handcuffs around his wrists then pulling him closer by the waist and forcing their mouths together. How after a minute or so she had forced him to his knees and towered over him.

It had been disgusting and demeaning. It hurt when she bit his lip, hurt when he tried to pull away and she responded by digging the knife further into his throat.

He couldn’t forget the feeling of her running her free hand along his body. The feeling of complete and utter helplessness and weakness as she used him.

He felt disgusting.

Cole was sure the lipstick smears were still on his face, sure that the team had seen them. He was grateful none of them had asked him about it.

What was he supposed to tell them? That his first kiss had been from her? That he didn’t want it? That now he never wanted a second because the first had been terrible? How pathetic would that sound?

What haunted him the most, though, were the last words she had said to him before locking his cell door. She had smacked him to the ground, removed the handcuffs, then walked away from him. “I had fun,” she had told him, her eyes glistening with lust and satisfaction.

“Yeah, well I didn’t,” he had snapped, standing up defiantly despite his legs screaming with pain.

She began humming as she pulled the keys from her pocket. “I’ll see you again soon,” she smirked as she shook the keys just out of his grasp.

“Not gonna happen.”

“Oh honey, you are never getting rid of me.”

Those words kept him awake that night, even after he showered and the lipstick washed away, he couldn’t help but fear what she said.

The next day, he told no one still.

Jay and Kai asked him if he were okay once more, told him that he looked sick.

Boy did he feel sick.

But he just brushed them off, telling them that it was nothing. That he was fine.

Then they found a nearly destroyed Zane, and everyone soon forgot about his capture. He was glad.

When the Sons of Garmadon had invaded the ship and had them surrounded, Ultra Violet was the one who first approached him. She was the one who had pried Wu from his hands before handing him off to Killow and grabbing him by the arm, telling the group they had unfinished business.

As she dragged him away, he helplessly locked eyes with Jay. Jay who had made to come after him and help him but was forced back by Mr. E. Cole opened his mouth with the intentions of screaming or telling her to stop, but he was frozen with fear.

She had thrown him into a chair and straddled him before breaking the distance and forcefully shoving her lips onto his. He once more protested, but she hit him, yanked on his hair, and once again he felt helpless.

When he was returned to the team, when he became chained with them, they once more questioned him, asking him if he was okay, what she had wanted.

He just brushed them off, telling them that she had wanted to finish interrogating him. No big deal. He was fine.

Jay asked about the bruise on his cheek, worry embedded in his voice.

He just brushed it off and told him he that he simply didn’t comply, that it was only one little hit.

Besides, the bruise masked the lipstick this time.

He had heard Kai curse Ultra Violet for hurting Cole under his breath, calling her foul names that she deserved. That made him feel a little better.

Days later, he saw her again.

As he pulled at the lever, trying to find a way to save both Lloyd and Misako from being forced to drown, she appeared in front of him.

“Hmm, hello again,” she had mused happily, madly tugging at the lever from the other side.

He grunted, pulling with all his might, though he felt like his strength had been stolen from him at the moment. He felt that way every time he saw her. “Umm, a little help!” he had cried, desperately trying to mask his fear.

She chuckled wildly before leaning over the bar and close to his face and whispering, “I told you you’d never get rid of me.” One of her hands began to move closer and closer… but Kai came just in time, knocked her out of the way and into the line of Nya.

He was able to distract himself with saving Lloyd.

But she had been so close again.

Days later, when he was in the realm of the Oni and Dragon, he thought he would be safe from her.

She was gone, in a completely different realm.

But when he went to bed in what was left of their home that first night, he still saw her face.

He still heard her laugh, could still feel the horrible way her lips had felt against his. His dream forced him to relive his horrible first kiss, relive the moments she teased him, insulted him, she touched him.

When he woke up that morning, he awoke with a gasp.

Even though he was now awake, he could still hear, feel, see. He drew his knees to his chest, covered his ears with his hands to try to keep himself from hearing her voice. “You’re never getting rid of me,” she continuously cackled in his head. He closed his eyes, began to mutter an incoherent mess of words under his breath.

He felt someone grab at his arms, prying his hands from his ears.

He heard the soft, gentle, voice of someone calling his name. The piercing, high-pitched howling faded into nothingness.

He opened his eyes. Blinked.

Zane was kneeling in front of him, his hands firmly and carefully gripping his wrists.

Cole looked him in the eyes, seeking comfort, reality. He could always find refuge in Zane’s soft blue eyes.

He felt himself calming down as he gazed into them. They were familiar, they were the gentle, they were filled with worry.

As he sunk back into reality, he heard Zane ask him if he was okay.

He slowly looked around their camp. Kai, Jay, and Wu were still sleeping, he didn’t wake them up, and that’s what mattered.

He looked back at Zane.

He just brushed him off. “I’m fine.”
