If you don't mind, may I request (if requests are open) atsushi, still an older brother, but with a sister that's 10-13 yrs old? It's totally fine if you don't wanna do it. i wrote this a bit differently i hope that’s okay anon! at first i planned for this to be mainly abt atsushi and the reader, but i decided to add in relationship hcs with the agency bc i ran out of ideas

atsushi with a tween! sister

like in my baby sister hcs, you’re still the most important thing to him period

the two of you got picked up by dazai and kunikida when he was 18 (obviously) and when you were 12

for a 12 year old, you were a bit small bc of malnourishment (which makes atsushi feel so bad) so both dazai and kunikida thought you were a bit younger than you actually were

they assumed you were about 9-10ish

you and atsushi both share a favorite food !! chazuke :)

so when kunikida treated the two of you, he made sure you got more bowls bc like i mentioned above, he feels really bad that you were malnourished and under weight

(don’t bring this up but kunikida felt bad too hehe)

when dazai went with your brother to the warehouse, you were with kunikida

imagine the surprise of the other ada members when kunikida came in with a little girl dressed in rags that popped out from behind him

kenji was the one who vocalized his thoughts

“kunikida-san you have a daughter?! wow! i didn’t know that! :D”

when you found out your brother was a tiger, you were a bit concerned but you were actually kind of excited

you were even more excited when you found out the two of you were going to be taken in by the agency

anything was better than the stupid orphanage

and besides!

you got a tiger for an older brother and a bunch of other super powered agents to take care of you! who could want anything else?

at your age, you’re very impressionable and can be influenced easily so atsushi makes sure to teach you more in depth of good morals and the importance of kindness

his heart swells with pride and relief when he catches you being kind to others

pride bc he’s proud that even after all the two of you have gone through, you still ended up being a good kid and having a bright view of the world

and relief bc he hasn’t failed as a big brother

pfftt like he could ever fail

but please, from time to time reassure him that he’s perfect and the only big brother that you’d ever want bc he rlly needs that kind of validation

with his salary and savings, he tries to buy nice things for you

what a sweetheart 🥺

he saw you eyeing that one dress at a store window? fast forward abt a week and half and it’s inside a pretty gift bag for you

you wanted to try that dessert from the nice bakery? that’s dessert after dinner at one point

but other than buying you things, he sets money aside for you

atsushi loves it when you talk abt your day and he can see the big smile on your face and the sparkle in your eyes

it gives him the strength to keep going 😖😖

the two of you aren’t as touch starved as you’d probably think, but that’s only bc the two of you had each other

in your opinion, no one can match the hugs of your big brother

and it got even better bc YAYY he has tiger arms now ٩(◕‿◕)۶

if you ask, he’d carry you around too hehe

you also get nightmares quite often so he’ll always be there ready to calm you down, talk if you need to, and rock you back to sleep

atsushi will do everything in his power to protect you and make sure you get to grow up happy, supported, and loved

port mafia attack? oop he’s already taking you to the nearest escape route

someone is starting to harass you? they just got suckered punched into the next week

you want to go out to have some fun? he’ll go ask the president for a day off

you’re not feeling well? he’ll take another day off and take care of you

whatever you want to do, he’ll do it with you! (as long as it’s within reason)

will always be your #1 supporter! and he’s the president of your fan club hehe

he loves you so so much and will do anything for you; your life and happiness will always be more important to him

atsushi is your big brother, but kunikida is most definitely some sort of father figure

everyone can see it

except kunikida of course

kunikida scolds you lightly if he thinks your manners need work or if you make a mess in the agency

you listen to him of course and in turn as some sort of a reward, he’ll give you pieces of stationary

he always gives you the nice, good quality kind and you’re over the moon

atsushi adores it when you come running to him showing your new notebook or fountain pen and blabbering what you’re going to do with it

sometimes it isn’t even as a reward for being a good child; he’ll just give it to you and he’ll say smth like “i noticed you’ve used up your last notebook quite quickly, so here’s another one” or “did you run out of ink? here have this then”

he usually has a soft spot for children in general, but he most definitely has a soft spot (or a thousand) for you

yosano is kind of like a motherly figure to you

she gives you the guidance a mother should and goes on shopping trips with you!

atsushi always gets dragged along by you, but he thinks it’s worth it seeing you look so happy

yosano being a doctor also tries to teach the things you should know, or things that would be helpful to you

she’ll teach you the basics of cooking, sewing, how to treat a cold/fever, etc

also gives you excellent advice 1000% of the time

“yOSANO-SENSEI DONT TELL HER THAT—”

fukuzawa is like a father to most in the agency but you see him more as a grandfather figure

bi weekly tea and gossip sessions hehe

along with cat talk!

most of the time though, it’s just you talking and him listening to you, but the two of you enjoy it nonetheless

“and then kunikida-san ended up crashing into a pole and dazai-san started to laugh at him and i did too because it was really funny but we ended up getting scolded—”

“hmm i see...”

he’ll let you stay in his office as he fills out paperwork; you’re usually doodling or drawing in your notebooks

sometimes he’ll meditate and you’ll join him, but 4/7 times you’d fall asleep

you always wake up with a blanket over you

dazai is like a cool but a highly concerning and kind of high maintenance uncle

frequently takes you out with him when he ditches work

walks in the park, eating at uzumaki so he has the excuse of treating you so he doesn’t have to pay his tab avoiding kunikida and sometimes chuuya and akutagawa, all that fun stuff

also tries to not talk abt suicide in front of you especially if it’s just the two of you alone

he knows that you mean the world to his pupil and that said pupil would probably hate him for putting suicide inside your brain

he teaches you random but useful things like how to pick a lock, how to steal kunikida’s notebook if you’re looking for some information, how to sweet talk your way out of things, etc.

is also the one to tell you that if you ever get a significant other to introduce them to the agency first

he always wants all of your gossip; some of them work pretty well for blackmail

“dazai-san! dazai-san! did you know that kunikida-san lost his glasses and he was looking for them for nearly an hour when he was just holding them the entire time??”

“woah really (y/n)-chan?! hey hey can you say it again into this recording device so kunikida-kun would believe me when i tell him—”

always ends up giving kunikida a heart attack when he says that you’ve been with him all day

ranpo is also like a cool but a highly concerning and kind of high maintenance uncle

will share some of his snacks, but don’t push it or you might not get anything at all

loves it when you compliment him

if you tagged along with him and your brother on a case, he will show off to impress you

atsushi is lowkey and kunikida is highkey stressed that ranpo’s eating habits will rub off on you

ranpo definitely does stuff like that on purpose

the tanizakis are like siblings to you!

a weird set of siblings but siblings nonetheless

the two of them adore you and think you’re precious

atsushi definitely knows how to do your hair whether it’s long or short but he got even better at it when he asked the two

hehe braid trains are definitely a thing + kyouka and kenji (and maybe even dazai)

sometimes you have sibling swap days

you’re with junichiro for most of the day and atsushi is with naomi

strange i know

each of the tanizaki siblings try to make it fun bc they know that the two of you did not at all have a happy upbringing

junichiro likes spending time with you by taking you out to different places that naomi likes to frequent

like the mall, different stores and restaurants, the park, places like those

naomi does the same thing with atsushi so if you ever bump into them, you go out and eat together :)

besides atsushi, the next one in line who spoils you the most would be junichiro (and yosano & kunikida both coming in at a close third)

he honestly can’t help it; you remind him of how naomi was when she was younger

and besides

he’s always been a sucker when it came to the happiness of a little sister

“of course! don’t worry about it” :)

wanna talk abt boys/girls/celebrity crushes things like that? naomi is your girl

you feel a bit embarrassed to go talking to yosano or your brother abt that and kyouka does not know a thing abt them either

“right?! but of course onii-sama is still the best—”

you get along with kenji and kyouka quite nicely being roughly the same age as them; they’re also like siblings!

you’re over the moon when she finds out that kyouka is staying with you and your brother

atsushi is twice as happy seeing you talk your mouth off and finally having a girl around your age to talk to

“do you think demon snow can change how she looks?”

“hmm... im not sure...”

he even teaches you how to take care of plants!

sometimes the two of you are kind of in the same boat bc you don’t know much abt yokohoma being stuck in the orphanage and kenji doesn’t know much abt cities in general

“wait where are we again kenji-san?”

“ah we’re close to the ports! but im not really sure how close because i don’t know what the symbols on this sign mean”

“don’t worry! neither do i!”

bonus things!

yosano was kind of too late teaching you abt you know what

“NII-SAN IM BLEEDING IN BETWEEN MY LEGS”

you’re sobbing in the agency’s bathroom and atsushi is panicking trying to get you to open the door

“Y/N?! H-HOLD ON LET ME GET YOSANO SENSEI”

ranpo overhears and cackles making everyone around him confused

suddenly atsushi bursts in the agency basically on the verge of tears rambling incoherent sentences abt the bathroom, you, and blood

it just clicked for everybody in the room

(im going to pretend that kenji has sisters back home so that atsushi is the only one who remain oblivious here hehe)

atsushi is genuinely confused and sort of concerned that no one is freaking out with him

yosano waves her hand saying smth like that she’d take care of it and junichiro pulls atsushi to the side to talk to him

fast forward like half and hour and dazai and ranpo are cackling on the looks of both of your faces

honestly not sure who’s more traumatized, you or your brother

“why does this have to happen” :(

“ne ne (y/n)-chan!~ you’re too young but at some point you’re not going to have it!”

“uwahh really dazai-san?” :D

“yeah! but first you have to have ANFK—”

next thing you know your ears are being covered by your brother and dazai is thrown across the room by kunikida

you’re twelve and have never gone to school, but the agency takes care of that

it’s too dangerous to go to school so they teach you what’s necessary and whatever else they can

kunikida takes care of math (obviously)

yosano takes care of science/biology/anatomy/health (whatever you wanna call it)

ranpo even dragged poe to help you with english

atsushi even got lucy to help you out with english too!

as tanizaki and naomi used to be students, they give you their old work books and they try to teach you all the other subjects

sometimes kyouka and kenji are there learing with you too!

so basically my friend told me today about her dream she had that involved a demon and of course my mind went “...SAIOU AU”

here’s our convo so it makes sense:

if I had the motivation i would DEFINITELY write a fic about this- the fluff/crack/angst potential is t h e r e

and as a bonus doodle,

story is under the cut (it’s long)

“I was gonna keep this in tags but hsdf;j” is what I originally wrote here until I started thinking about this more and sorta wrote the whole plot-

-> as ouma’s killing the other monster things he flirts with shuuichi while the poor demon has never been flirted with so he’s stood there all confused and ??? (his version of blushing would be like, the fire coming from his small horns gets bigger and brighter)

-> the one he summons ends up being like. kaede and they both just end up having to lecture shuuichi on why it is that he should not want to die so easily

-> eventually kokichi and kaede wanna give him a hug so they try to but shuuichi’s Extra Hot™ (from being a demon and also probably blushing) so they both immediately regret that choice but kokichi laughs and gives an obligatory pun about shuuichi being hot which only confuses him because ‘of course im hot?? im a demon??’ while kaede explains what ouma meant

-> imagine shuuichi crying (fire tears..) at the generosity of these two strangers who a) aren’t absolutely terrified of him, b) refuse to hurt him and c) actually *want* to help him and ouma actually inwardly understanding a little bc he’d never imagine someone actually wanting to be with himself either

-> saihara now wanting to know what it’s like to live as a human with ouma and akamatsu but being unable to find a way (except for maybe being undercover?) but promising he’ll bring ouma back to him (he’s aware of the whole aging phenomenon in the lil demon world so he wants to keep their time short) and ouma finding that now he has something to look forward to

-> the 👏 mutual 👏 pining 👏 that commences after they both have to leave each other (if kaede knows kokichi in the real world she’d definitely tease him a little knowing he has a crush- this is probably good potential for building oumaede friendship)

-> it takes a while before ouma and saihara can see eachother again because getting the two to escape without killing saihara exerted a lot of energy on him, but they do get to! about once a month to be safe, and they get to know stuff about eachother like which shops ouma likes to steal from and shuuichi’s really loud demon friend he once had (aka momota)

-> one day though saihara tells ouma that if he keeps doing this he’ll die of exhaustion (it takes a lot of energy from saihara to get ouma in and out of there) and ouma calling him an idiot but really being worried. saihara tells him not to worry about him even if something happens to him, and makes ouma go back to the real world

-> ouma doesn’t hear from him after that

-> he worries he might have been killed or saihara forgot about him and feels stupid for being so hopeful in something so childishly impossible and starts trying to forget about him

-> the real world is aware of demons cause people talk about them (and obvs you can tell when someone’s gone to their.. dimension thing because you can visibly see them age) so still denying that he’s curious and likes saihara still, ouma tries to go to libraries and do his own research on demons and ends up finding out that saihara specifically comes from a bloodline that makes him quite powerful if not for that he wouldnt want to take the risks that come with it and then lowkey gets excited again for saihara while still in ✨denial ✨

-> it’s been almost a year when saihara has enough energy (and more) to ensure that his new plan is successfully carried out and that ouma (and potentially 1 more..) gets back to the real world safely. he created this plan when he figured out how to exist in the real world- by sacrificing the thing he cares most about

-> so when ouma suddenly gets that off-feeling people get when they’re leaving the real world he feels very many emotions at once (giddily going ”ohh my god its not this it cant be this no way oh heck tthisis not happening not a chance”) until he sees the face he’s been waiting 4 months for again except this time it looks.. frighteningly cold

-> ouma’s instincts are screaming at him that something is very, very wrong here especially when he can’t hear any warmth when saihara says “Welcome back, Ouma. It’s your final time” and explains the whole ‘kill these monsters then kill me’ thing again

-> ouma’s confusion inevitably turns to annoyance as he kills the dudes (there appears to be a lot more than there was last time) and fires questions at saihara (‘is this saihara?’ ‘what happened to you??’ ‘do you even remember me?’) while saihara stays silent for the whole time thinking about how he really doesn’t want to be doing this.

-> eventually ouma decides he was wrong (again) to have put his faith in a guy- a demon- he only met once a month.. even if said demon gave him something to look forward to

-> when he finally gets to saihara alone he internally notes that saihara cant look him in the eye, but he finally speaks to tell ouma that now either himself or ouma will now die (saihara knows this is for sake of the sacrifice, but he can’t let ouma know else it won’t work)

-> ouma refuses to fight him again, expecting saihara to snap back into the meek demon from a year and some months ago, but rather than that happening saihara actually says something like “if you won’t kill me, I’ll have to kill you” and swings at him

-> even if ouma was on his full guard, he still would’ve been surprised by how strong saihara actually could be when he tried to fight- and of course saihara can’t stop now that he’s started but ouma hears the hesitation when saihara asks “are you going to kill me yet?” and gets annoyed that the whole time he spent with him and even akamatsu meant nothing. saihara smiles sadly knowing he’s achieving his goal but ouma thinks he’s smiling at the thought of dying and gets somehow even more annoyed

-> during their whole fight, insert “I’m alone, Ouma, and I will always be” line from saihara, “No amount of talking can convince me otherwise, Ouma. I’m sorry it took so long, but it was foolish of you to trust a demon you met only once” or something and yes it hurts saihara too but ouma’s staying silent and before saihara can continue, ouma fires back with “You’re right- you are meant to be alone. You were always meant to be that kind of guy” and stops dodging to start finally attacking- this is when saihara knows he’s pretty much achieved his target: sacrificing ouma’s trust in him

-> just as ouma swipes at him, saihara’s lil spell thing is activated that takes saihara back to the real world, disguised so people don’t see him as a demon. but now ouma thinks he’s just killed saihara (I just attacked him. and he is gone. i dont know what that light was but i must have just killed him. oh my god im a murderer.”)

-> saihara hiding in the forest to do the lil spell thing again but on ouma (all the time he spent saving on energy was worth it) so ouma gets transported to the real world too and immediately runs to tell akamatsu everything that happened

-> saihara trying to find to blend in with humans from what he remembers of how they act but he doesnt need to particularly eat he just needs a heck ton of sleep so he basically just lives in the forest now. he’s very sensitive to water so he actively stays away from it too (it wont kill him but it does make him sick). he’s still feverishly warm but not scalding and he also decides to work at a store to fit in more

-> ouma regretting what he did to saihara even though saihara hurt him first and realising he misses him

-> saihara ends up accidentally bumping into him at the store he works at that ouma conveniently steals from a lot (”Ouma, you’d make a good demon” “Nishishi! What do you mean? I’m a perfect little angel!”) and saihara gasping when he notices ouma’s unforgettable purple hair and cute smile.

-> ouma finding something familiar about this awkward new staff with the cute face and deciding he’ll visit the shop more often to see this stranger and not because said stranger might help him get over his demon crush

-> then they get to know eachother again for the 2nd time, and as much as this guy is really cute, he clearly knows more than he’s letting on... so of course ouma’s gotta now pay even more attention to him. just so he knows what the guy’s hiding. not cause he wants to know him.

-> one day saihara is sick from trying to protect himself from the rain (cause yk, water bad) so he stays in the forest instead of coming in to focus his energy on getting better and also not blowing his cover. ouma notices he isnt there on that day and asks other staff members where he lives and they’re all like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

-> it rains quite a bit after that, inevitably making saihara even more sick and in turn needing time away to himself, so ouma starts getting worried when saihara stops coming to work

-> saihara really wants to see him though, so one day he tries to drag himself to work in a terrible state where he’s actually almost cold for once and collapses after trying to run to ouma. ouma sees him and tells his manager he cant work nd takes him home himself where saihara wakes up confused

-> ouma lecturing saihara because he worried him and the way he fell reminded him of.. someone (demon shuu).. then he asks vague questions to saihara about if he’s ever met a demon and half-confesses to having met one himself multiple times and ending up falling in love and then probably killing them

-> saihara, in his tired state, tells him his story of how he was raised to believe he had no purpose other than to meet someone who would kill him, eventually finding that person but instead of looking at him with fear or anger he looked at him with admiration and playfulness, how the guy meant to kill him refused to and flirted w him instead. ouma has probably clicked on by this point but saihara continues to tell him he wanted to protect that guy with the power he had so he took time away from his first ‘job’ to find out how to be with him. saihara is probably shaking at this point while he continues telling him about how he found out he had to sacrifice the most important thing to him, so he “went and had a terrible argument with him one day and i ran away. but i’ve never stopped looking for him since, he showed me that even a demon like me can fall in love” (there’s the ✨grand confession ✨)

-> ouma saw it coming from the moment saihara started speaking, but that didnt stop him from being utterly paralysed. of COURSE saihara has to say “When I said you’d make a good demon I really wasn’t lying. Your hand is so warm it could fool even me” which possibly makes ouma completely combust before absolutely bolting out the door and calling akamatsu to tell her to get to his house (”AKAMATSU-CHAN I’M GONNA DIE RIGHT NOW IF YOU DON’T GET HERE ABSOLUTELY RIGHT THIS SECOND”)

-> while waiting for kaede, shuuichi explains that he needs to be Warm™ and immediately holds kokichi’s hold again, while the other’s having a gay panic.. and he doesnt know how to feel because on one hand, his beloved demon is.. right here, in the ‘flesh’, holding his hand, telling him he fell in love with him.. but on the other hand, that doesnt excuse the confusion and hurt he put him through back then, not being able to see him for a whole damn year..

-> ouma ignores all the feelings when akamatsu arrives where she’s brought water and blankets (just in case- i feel like shes the kind of friend who would do that) so saihara takes the blankets and ouma takes the water and she calms them both down and gets them to explain everything slowly and in their own time. its awkward esp for ouma who isnt particularly close with her, but they manage it in the end

-> they decide shuuichi literally cant live in the forest so of course now he has to live with ouma but akamatsu offers to help if it ever gets too much for ouma which obviously ouma denies. she leaves soon and its just them but ouma needs some time to himself to clear his head and he only returns late to see saihara asleep clinging onto akamatsu’s blanket with his life lmao so ouma sighs and brings him more. and if he kisses the sleeping demon’s forehead, nobody has to know

-> ofc its still very much awkward and it takes ouma getting used to having even just another presence in his home, let alone his sort-of-unofficial-demon-bf and saihara’s still sleeping a lot of the time but recovering

-> they probably establish their feelings for eachother properly when they’re more mentally prepared for it, and then 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨 (they kiss) and are now actually legally boyfriends. i absolutely cannot let this end in angst so they’re happy and love eachother now yay the end

nngl. i talked about this with that same friend and I lowkey want to start writing an actual fic for it now that ive written... literally the entire plot, but if i do that it probably wont be out for a while bc i take 10 years to write lmao-- plus i hardly ever finish what i start so uh yeah.. but hopefully! im not even good at writing fic this is just the plot but yello

AHH CONGRATS ON REACHING 400 U ABSOLUTELY DESERVE IT!! :] also i'd like to tag along the ship game thingy it looks fun :0 i'd prefer to be shipped with a bad batch member if that's ok (and considering we're mutuals which im still in a shock about im pretty sure it's obvious who i like heheh oops)

soo i am a very very quiet person at first, but then when i know we both have similarities and get closer im very annoying (affectionate) i'd straight up pester my friends for like 2 hours and then stay quiet for the rest of the day bcs i get drained rip but besides annoying them i tend to do playful bullying more, sarcasm if u will there are many moments where i'll just whack my friends (they r okay with it we whack each other a lot) and i'd step on the back of their shoes and yanno basically call eachother morons but that's like the PEAK friendship for us so hehe

but no worries we know it's just playful banters and we love each other sm platonically ofc, and we tend to be for each other when we need it, i always make sure my friends have someone they can rant to, all of my friends go through some heavy stuff so im glad they trust me enough to tell me those and ofc i always keep a secret

ooh my top love language is quality time, i love sitting together in silence with my friend and we both do our own thing, maybe show each other a funny meme or doodle and we'd talk through writing on each other's papers in class bcs we are both drained and tired but generally i do love sitting in silence together with my loves ones maybe bcs i also dislike voicing what i want, i'd just either code i want something or just look at them until they figure it out which i do a lot with my parents heh, im very loud with my parents tho i am the youngest sibling after all, still the only daughter tho

physically im 154 so that's about uh 5'1 i think? i like cats i love them very much, cute things makes me happy but also i tend to joke about some uhh violence stuff like when my friend says someone said something hurtful to them and i'd just reply with "push them down the stairs. fuck them." so uh yeah that's it i suppose??? i've never done this before sorry ah congrats once again!!! i love your writing so much thank u

i think you would bring him that sense of normalcy and the same something(? he had back in his 501st days. he'd feel a bit more at home when you're around, a bit more like he didn't lost too much.

you kind of remind him of fives, and he has told you once or twice you would have been the bestest™ of friends.

you joke with him and you being annoying (affectionate) always makes him love you more. because he sees so much of his old days in you but also the new days to come, and because you give him this sense of- well, like things are going to be just fine.

you're his light in the dark, always guiding him somewhere nice, a piece of heaven that you hold in your hands and always find your way to place it in his own.

he'd def hear your rants and would laugh with you, giving you heart eyes as you speak or maybe listen to you as he works on whatever. and maybe you'd have a little bit of communication problems at first, with that not voicing what u want stuff, but he's a fast learner so he'd learn to read your eyes sometimes, when you feeling sad and stuff and you look at him he's in no time dragging you to his lap and hugging u tight, kissing ur temple and all.

he'd love when you draw doodles in his hands 🥺 and he'd draw a little something on yours too while you're bored in hyperspace.

I'd say echo shares your sense of humor, saying in the most serious voice "we should kill them." when someone says something neither of you like and there's this amused glint in his eyes. you follow his jokes with another stuff that makes everyone think you're psychopaths and end up laughing.

i think quality time is also his love language, adding little touches here and there.

it's in the silence, where you two show the most how much you love each other, in the warm looks and little smiles, sharing a blanket as you sit side by side and he leans a bit closer to you, he holds your hand sometimes, playing with it as you snuggle closer, your cheek on his shoulder.

you don't say much, eyes speaking for you and he kisses you softly, lips lasting a few seconds on yours before pulling apart slowly, he brushes your cheek with the back of his hand, leaning over again just to steal another kiss. you smile, and his expression mirrors yours.

"you good?" he asks, just to make sure you don't need anything. you nod, squeeze his hand with yours, sleepy eyes letting him know there's nothing you need but him.

he chuckles, a low sound that warms your heart, a kiss on your temple and there's something murmured in your hair. it's not long before you fall asleep just like that, holding hands and each other's hearts as you share warmth in the cold ship.

Lloyd Heacanons Pt. 2

~I don’t think there’s anything too bad in here, but trigger warning for slight mentions of anxiety~

These also got really long, oops sorry

* He gets stomachaches and headaches when he’s stressed.

* He gets very, very upset with himself when he fails in a mission and makes a mistake.

* He has a bad habit of skipping meals and sometimes goes a full day without having a single proper meal

* Despite this, he’s not picky at all when it comes to food. Maybe it’s because he lived on the streets for a while and took what he could get or maybe it’s just because he’s Lloyd, but he will eat literally anything. Ketchup and bananas? Sure. Peanut butter and cheese sandwich? Sure. Everyone, save Cole, is high key disgusted by it

* He also loves pineapple on pizza, much to Kai and Zane’s disdain

* When Zane died, Lloyd blamed himself because if he had just been a bit stronger and better, maybe when he had defeated the overlord, he would’ve stayed dead.

* Because of this, he started obsessively training and completely neglecting his human needs. It got to the point where Garmadon would literally sit on the edge of Lloyd’s bed all night to make sure he actually slept and didn’t wake up at some ungodly hour to train

* Okay that got a bit too angsty for me, so, Lloyd’s favorite color is yellow and he likes wearing pastels. He owns a lot of light greens, blues and yellows

* He also loves doodling on his jeans and shoes. His jeans are almost all ripped up and covered in sharpie doodles. He has one pair of white converse that he uses as a canvas

* He loves strawberry marshmallows and strawberry milk. Obviously, his favorite ice cream is strawberry

* He talks to himself a lot

* He visits the Ninjago orphanage a lot, just to talk to the kids, and make friends with them. When he turns 18, though, he’s planning on adopting all of them. Every. Last. One.

* He chews on his sleeves when he’s stressed

* He also bites his nails until they bleed. To get him out of the habit, the other ninja (mostly Kai) put bandaids on all of his fingers so he can’t access his nails

* He was once so tired in a press conference that he said “hi, I’m Energy, master of Lloyd” and it’s become a Ninjago-wide meme

* He loves lizards. They’re so cute and have the sweetest faces. He also likes frogs.

* He also really likes sharks

* Because of his dragon side, he’s sort of cold blooded. It’s not full, but if it’s very cold outside, Lloyd needs to keep extra warm to regulate his body temperature and maintain homeostasis

* He has these horrible side effects of getting possessed where he’ll get really dizzy, pass out, start shivering uncontrollably, get pain flashes or start vomiting blood. The effects just randomly show up and it’s very scary for Lloyd and everyone around him when it happens. (Not my personal headcanons, based of an ask that @lindsey-chr-not-found received (sorry for tagging I just wanted to give credit))

* He had to get his passport illegally meddled with because his birthdate looked very suspicious

* After the whole possession fiasco, Lloyd always kisses his mom before every mission, because when he was possessed by Morro, Lloyd feared for his life and all he could think was that he was going to die here, and the last thing he did was refuse to kiss his mom goodbye

* He’s prone to panic attacks

* He always keeps some type of fidget with him. When he has to give public speeches, he likes to play with it to make him feel more comfortable

* The ninja eventually got him a spinny fidget ring that he wears all the time. It helps him so much

* This is more of a garmadon HC, but he knows that Lloyd tends to bottle up his own fears and pain to be strong for others. Because of this, garmadon makes sure to ask Lloyd how he’s feeling every single night, just to encourage Lloyd to open up and give room for him to talk if somethings wrong

* Lloyd goes on runs a lot. He likes to clear his mind and take a moment to breathe

* He likes listening to others talk. He’s not great with social interactions and people. He prefers to listen than to talk

* However, he really has a way with words, and the fact that he’s a pretty quiet person makes the words that he does say very impactful

* He need glasses, but he doesn’t like wearing them. he usually only wears them when he’s around the house or needs to read. He wears them during interviews, because it’s really embarrassing when he spends like 5 whole minutes squinting trying to read the question

* Wearing them makes him look so much older though

* After season 9, he started growing his hair out more and changing small things about his appearing because after everything that just happened, he hates when he looks in the mirror and sees an almost carbon copy of his father

* Lloyd got highlights in his hair because the most apparent difference between him and his father is that Lloyd’s hair is lighter, so he went and got highlights to exaggerate that differences

* As a side effect of the whole “master of energy” thing, Lloyd’s powers can leave him drained of energy very easily. After the whole ‘losing powers’ situation is s9, his powers seem to be different and he’s prone to fainting when he overuses them. Wu told him that he needs to be very careful because if he’s in a situation like he was in season 8, when he fought garmadon, it could sap his energy completely and leave him in a coma.

* He likes putting colorful bandaids on his injuries

* Speaking of injuries, he has a scar right above his heart from the battle with garmadon in true potential. He absolutely hates the scar.

* He is victim to all kinds of nicknames about his hair. The ninja are very creative when it comes to these nicknames, but their favorites are “blondie,” “Rapunzal,” And “Goldilocks”

* Jay and Lloyd like to enthusiastically re-enact starfarer scenes for the others. It started when the power was out, so jay and Lloyd decided to entertain everyone else by performing the entire starfarer movie. After that, it kinda became a thing.

* Little Lloyd used to make blanket forts on the bounty when he was sad, so now all the ninjas, after a particularly difficult battle, will make a blanket fort and just enjoy each other’s company,

* Sometimes they’ll sit in the fort and make up stupid games, or they’ll play video games, or they’ll talk, but sometimes, they just sit in silence and drink in the fact that all of them are okay, and they’re all alive.

* His favorite partners for missions are either Kai, Nya or Cole. Kai and Nya because they’re his siblings and they know each other’s fighting style and where they need to cover each other. (Kai And Nya always cover Lloyd’s left side, bc his left leg still is weak from the time he broke it in season 2). He likes working with Cole as well, because Lloyd has a tendency to panic and overthink, and Cole is so grounded and chill and his strategies are simple and practical.

* He struggles a lot with finding his worth when he is not the green ninja. Lloyd struggles with the fact that his friends only care about him because of his important title and everything.

* That was something his father helped him with a lot. Finding Lloyd’s strengths and all the things that make Lloyd wonderful and lovable. Not the green ninja. Garmadon reminded him a lot that the child he loved and cherished was not the green ninja, but Lloyd.

* Finding his own worth without relying on his powers, title, and family is something Lloyd is working very hard on.

* As soon as Ray and Maya were brought back after season 7, Kai and Nya dragged Lloyd to them and just kinda announced to them that Lloyd was their new son. Both ray and Maya adore him.

* The reason the ultra dragon liked him so much was not because he was the green ninja, but because of the dragon in him. They also connected with Lloyd the same way Firstborn connected to the FSM. They sensed purity and kindness in Lloyd’s soul

* He knows all the small hiding places on the bounty. Whenever he gets overwhelmed or needs to have a breakdown without messing up his “perfect” façade, he goes to those spots and hides.

* Misako and Wu tore down Garmadon’s monastery after season four when the ninja were gone for a week to follow a lead. When Lloyd got back and saw that his father’s monastery had been torn down by his own mother and uncle, he cried for hours on end.

* He was furious and refused to speak to his mother for a few days because this monastery was a such a big part of the legacy of peace garmadon tried so desperately to leave behind. He even sacrificed himself for this legacy, and his own mom, garmadon’s wife who should know how important this was better than anyone, tore down a big part of this legacy to build a tea shop.

* When the tea shop was built, the ninja had sleeping quarters in the shop. Lloyd; however, literally took his blanket and slept outside for the first two weeks. (The others begged him to stop when he caught a fever after sleeping in the rain)

* When the ultra dragon was still around, when Lloyd was feeling sad or lonely, he wold go and sleep in the dragon keep with them. All four heads would nuzzle around him and comfort him until he fell asleep.

* Lloyd and the other ninja burst into musical numbers all the time. If one of them starts a number, the rest are literally legally obligated to join in.

* The first few days after Lloyd aged up were hard for Wu because he looked so much like garmadon

* His anxiety can be really horrible, especially after Morro, and to help with it and make sure it doesn’t get in the way of doing his job, Lloyd takes medication for it.

* Lloyd has a tendency to overwork himself because he constantly feels he needs to prove that he is good enough. Wu sometimes finds this very concerning, because 1) overworking yourself isn’t good for you, but more importantly, in some way, Lloyd’s need to constantly be working and proving his worth reminds Wu a bit of Morro.

* Of course it’s very different. Morro wanted to prove he is the best, while Lloyd wants to prove that he is good enough and worth loving and caring about

* It is so incredibly hard for Lloyd to resist the forbidden scroll’s power, because he has always struggled with self worth, and this scroll gives him power that makes him so important and useful

* After season 2, when Lloyd was receiving awards for destroying the overlord, an alarming amount of new mothers approached Lloyd, telling him they named their baby Lloyd. It kinda freaked Lloyd out, to be honest

* Lloyd’s puppy eyes can convince anyone of anything. Whenever the ninja need to convince Wu of something, they send Lloyd.

* Lloyd knows what places on the bounty each ninja visits most often, so after a hard battle or if one of his siblings is having a bad day, he’ll stick little post it notes with nice messages in all of those places.

* He ends every note with “I love you so much. Love, Lloyd” and a little heart

* After the Morro incident, every single day, Wu would find a new note on his teapot, telling him what an amazing teacher he was, or how much he meant to the ninja.

* After skybound, Lloyd could tell that Jay was hiding something and that he was acting different, so he left a note every day on all of jay’s inventions and the video game console

* He left some for Cole on the refrigerator after he became a ghost

* For Nya and Kai it’s whenever they’re having a bad day. Sometimes Lloyd leaves them on random days, just to remind his big brother and sister how much they mean to him

* For Zane it’s on bad days as well

* After season 8/9 the others started doing it for him. The day after garmadon was defeated, Lloyd woke up to little notes on all of his belongings, from his sword, to his towel to his comics. He kept every single on of them.

cody fern + demiboy + he/him & they/them — jinkies ! is that forrest caulfield? the twenty six year old is known around coolsville as the nightmare enthusiast because they are peculiar + intriguing, as well as moody + hateful. they currently work at mystery inc as a case finder and everyone there knows that they love abandoned buildings with dried blood smeared on the walls, a completely blacked out room, and collecting animal skulls.

*MATTHEW MCCONAUGHEY VC* alright, alright, alright!!! let’s get into this, shall we??

𝒑𝒂𝒔𝒕.

there was no such luxury of being stable and surrounded by a healthy environment for forrest caulfield, and continuing to suffer from this bad luck from the first hour he were born to present day, showed a significant toll on him later in life. but to start at the beginning, june callfield and devan waters were old friends through high school and even attended church together. they were relentlessly flirtatious with one another and eventually june got pregnant, much to her dismay and shock seeing as how her and her husband ( read: who is NOT devan ) had been trying for a baby with no such luck. she announced her pregnancy one night at a housewarming party to her loving friends and family, those of which among them were her husband doug and their mutual friend… devan.

to his horror, devan soon connected the dots and realized that june’s baby was in fact biologically his as well. through much debate, both june and devan settled on keeping the secret of their tumultuous affair under wraps and neatly hidden from june’s husband, doug. buuuut when feb 19th came around the corner it was clear that forrest was not doug’s at all. and truthfully doug always suspected june of having an affair so,,,, u know.

after a huge explosion of accusations, screaming, yelling and the doctors having to remove newborn forrest into another room for his safety, it was clear to the medical staff that they couldn’t send him home with them. inevitably they called in law enforcement, who took the infant and placed him under foster care. his mother, doug and his father never actively put in the effort to regain custody and thus he would grow up in the system all his life, bouncing from house to house, orphanage to orphanage, group home to group home, and so on. as if this wasn’t horrid enough, he dealt with the inner turmoil of being neglected and abandoned by his parents, authority figures and peers, who continuously picked on him and made fun of his out-of-the-ordinary character. everyone but one person, and he was glad to have found her so young or he wouldn’t have survived anything at all. that person would become arabella gore, who he met at one of the wayward orphanages.

eventually tragedy would strike again though as a series a violent crimes were being committed and teenagers like arabella and forrest were being murdered in horrific ways. instantly the small southern town pointed their fingers at the two, weirded out by their appearances and the rumors that they were devil worshipers as many of the locals knew that they had an affinity for practicing wicca and honestly look like 90′s goths sometimes u feel me. its a LOOK

after being arrested, both forrest and arabella then went on to attend several of court hearings and eventually were dropped of all charges as the evidence did not match up bc,,,, well, they’re innocent, though no one in the town thinks so

eventually forrest heard of mystery inc. from that of ella and seeing how he grew hatred against the town, it guided his actions into moving to ohio. soon enough they became apart of mystery inc. though not much is known abt his past and he would rather keep it that way, this being one of the main reasons why forrest is a case researcher: he wants to ensure no one digs up unnecessary drama y’all feel

𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒐𝒎 𝒇𝒖𝒏 𝒇𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒔.

he has a kitty who he would die for in a heartbeat and name is elvira ( her name coming from u guessed it!!! elvira. **he’s a sucker for strong gothic women lmao ). she’s all black and she makes really goofy faces and tbh this is how i picture her 100%!!!

he’s a pisces, born on feb. 20th which individuals born on feb 20th are said to be “secret attention seekers” with character traits as followsssssss: charismatic, sympathetic, & perceptive but also restless, needy & hypersensitive WHICH TRUE FAM. feb 20th ppl also are best suited to be art teachers or poets bc of their skills in emotional intelligence, originality & depth. which pretty much sums up forrest’s entire personality oo p s

usually ( we’re talkin’ like 9/10 times ) he wears black high top converse. the white tips have sketches all over them bc he has a habit of just jotting random shit down on them and also doodling, lmao

probably also highkey has notes to himself written on his inner wrists

he’s a horror movie fanatic but he LOVES horror literature most of all!! horror makeup also is rlly interesting to him and he could literally talk ur ear off abt any three subjects, lol

he has milk chocolate brown shaggy hair.

rip that’s all I write too... tbh I used to write original fiction before but I find myself much less constricted by fanfic? I can explore the characters here more than I can in original fiction where worldbuilding takes most effort

I was about 12 I think? it all started with harry potter, like everything else has, and I regret not a second of it!

sometimes when i get very excited about what i’m writing i’ll tell my fandom friends about the specific AU that i’m writing about but in terms of reading the full length fic, i don’t have anyone that i let read before anyone else. it’ll be on ao3 for everyone at the same time.

my desk, my pc. I can write on my phone but I like to edit as I go and it’s hard to do on the phone.

oh wow ok this is a difficult one bc I don’t think I even have a wip 7 pages long //sweats let me see... aha, okay, I found one! from back in march when I asked people to send me over some numbers for one of those writing memes and @theexitgarden I believe (??) sent me the prompt “I don’t think anyone could be as lovely as you” for victuuri and I kind of got a blind!victor au from it?? wELP here’s the fragment of it:

His music is vibrant in a way that he couldn't play on his piano alone and the clap of the blades that he can hear from the speakers of his TV makes him only more certain – this boy, Yuuri Katsuki, is skating to the sound of Victor's soul as if it's his own.

He never notices the tears that well up in his eyes until they roll down his cheeks and Makkachin presses against his side, whimpering in concern. Victor runs a trembling hand through her soft fur and takes a deep breath. And then, he decides.

A/N: Part 2 is up! There are little hints in here regarding the other boys’ stories. If you catch them (I made them pretty obvious) which one are you most excited for? Tbh i really want to know! Bound in leather, yellow with age, the journal that sat on the third shelf of the southernmost bookshelf in the second library had been with the school since its opening in 1917. Inscribed on the first page, in cursive handwriting, were the words, “Welcome to the Cherry Pickers’ Club.”

The six boys lounged in Jonghyun and Minhyun’s dorm room. “So…who’s still a virgin at this school?” Jonghyun asked from his desk, cheeks flushing scarlet at his rather scandalous question. Daniel, who was laying on the floor flipping through one of Jonghyun’s manga, spoke up, “Well, Minhyun, Jonghyun, Jaehwan,” he stopped when Jaehwan chucked a football at his head. “He meant female virgins, smartass,” Jaehwan snapped, ears bright red. Seongwoo looked up from his phone, “Well, there’s that girl in Minhyun’s business administrations class,” Minhyun shot him a confused look, “The one who always wears that oversized sweater over her uniform and sits near the back of the class.” Minhyun let out a sound of realization. Seongwoo continued, “And then there’s that girl who’s always late to our math class, Jonghyun.” Jonghyun furrowed his eyebrows before a look of realization dawned on his face, “Ah! She’s the one who’s always doodling on her notes or sleeping in class…wait, but isn’t she kind of scary?” the other boys looked at him, begging for clarification, “She always shows up with bruised knuckles and stuff…And there’s a rumor going around her dad’s in the mafia or something…” The boys waved him off, of course Jonghyun would be the one to be scared of a girl. “Plus,” Seongwoo leaned forward so all the boys could hear as he dropped his voice ten volumes, “I heard the TA for the music tech class was one too.” The boys ooh’d at the newfound information. “And what about you, Seongwoo? Going for any of them?” Hyunbin asked from the floor. Seongwoo simply leaned back against the wall, “Too easy, I’ve got my eyes on a bigger challenge.”

“Go away, Seongwoo,” you snapped, not even looking up from your notebook. “How’d you know it was me, sweetheart? Obsessed enough with me to sense my presence?” he leaned down, sending you a smirk. You rolled your eyes and looked up, “Your ego made its presence; I was practically suffocating.” He placed his hands on your desk, leaning forward until his nose was almost touching yours; you felt everyone focus their attention on the two of you, and you glared at him with all the fury you could muster from your body. “You coming to the bonfire Saturday?” You narrowed your eyes at him; of course you were going, everyone goes to Daniel’s back-to-school bonfire, even if they barely knew the guy. “And why does that matter to you?” you asked, patience growing thin. He scoffed, placing his hand on his chest in mock offence, “Aren’t we friends, Y/N?” You shot him a look and returned your attention back to your notes. Seongwoo chuckled to himself, “Of course not, we’re something much more, right, Y/N?” He cupped your chin and tilted your head up to look at him, sending you a satisfied smile. You froze in your seat before remembering there were spectators, reverting back to your default scowl and swatted his hand away. “Pull that shit again, Ong, and I’ll have you suspended for harassment.”

“Any luck?” Daniel asked over lunch. The six boys sat together at their corner table, hunched forward and speaking in low whispers, just in case anybody walking by could overhear their conversation. “I’m too scared to talk to girls…” Jonghyun mumbled, mouth half full with food. Minhyun looked up from his textbook, “I sit next to her in math class now, doesn’t mean I’ll accomplish it anytime soon.” Daniel leaned back and turned his attention to Jaehwan and Hyunbin, who both just shook their heads. “Seongwoo, buddy, please tell me you were able to at least find a virgin?” Daniel pleaded, turning to his best friend. Seongwoo, on the other hand, was relaxed, peacefully chomping on his apple. “Boys, seduction is an art; you can’t expect a girl to simply hand her virginity over to you on a silver platter. You have to coax it out of her, makes sure she’s the one to give it up, not you forcing it from her,” Seongwoo stated matter-of-factly. Daniel snorted at his friend’s tone, “Dude, we know that. I’m just asking because you won’t tell us who your target is.” Out of the corner of his eye, Seongwoo caught you walking by with Nayoung; he leaned back and sent you a casual wave; you just rolled your eyes and continued to your table. Daniel’s eyes widened in realization, “Y/N? Ice princess, Y/N? You’re going after her?” Seongwoo just nodded, “I’ve always liked a challenge.”

“Nayoung,” you called in shock; she stuck her head out of the bathroom, hair dripping wet. “Yes, Y/N?” she said, pattering across your shared room to stand behind your chair. She leaned over your shoulder to look at the part of your screen that you were pointing at, water droplets landing on your shirt. Her eyes widened, “Oh my god! You did it! You got into the internship!” She instantly hugged you from behind. You beamed up at her, “I start next Monday, and there’s another intern there too, so I might make a new friend that doesn’t see me as an ice princess.” Nayoung walked over to your shared closet, rummaging around for an acceptable dress. “They don’t go to Evanson?” You shrugged, “Rivers & Martin rarely accept interns from the same school, so highly unlikely.” She had tugged on her red dress at this point and was now trying to find her flats. “Y/N,” you looked up from your laptop, “aren’t you going to get dressed?” You looked down to find yourself still in your pajamas, “Yeah, I should probably do that.”

Daniel’s family’s lake house was a ten minute drive away from the school. You and Nayoung stepped out of your car, thanking your chauffeur before heading towards the gate leading to the backyard. Daniel was standing at the gate, greeting guests. He shot you guys a warm smile before handing you a soda can, “I know you two don’t really drink, so I got a couple sodas for you,” he said. “Thanks, Daniel,” you said, giving him a small smile. Even though his best friend is an asshat, it doesn’t mean Daniel was. “No problem, enjoy the party!” You and Nayoung stuck together as you wove through the swarm of people occupying the grounds. “I’m gonna go see if I can find Dongho,” Nayoung shouted over the music. You nodded and waved her off, pointing towards the keg where Dongho stood talking to Minhyun. “Good luck,” you mouthed, giving her a thumbs up. “Well, looks like it’s just you and me.” You turned around to see Seongwoo in a red flannel and black jeans, and out of default, you scowled. “Tsk, don’t you know scowling causing wrinkles,” he said, a smile painting his tone. He ran his thumb over your forehead, trying to smooth out the wrinkles. “Makes sense since you automatically add ten years to my life,” you retorted, swatting his hand away. Seongwoo shook his head dejectedly, “I come over here to tell you that you look cute tonight and all I get are insults.” You looked down at your light blue dress. “After all, the dress really fits the whole ‘ice princess’ aesthetic you’ve got going on,” he gave you a thumbs up, and you instantly whirled around on your heels and stalked away.

“Can you believe the nerve of some people? He practically made me out as some untouchable ice princess. And here he is trying to make himself out as my friend!” Nayoung just cocked her head at your fury, “Nayoung, I can’t even get a boyfriend without the guy trying to cop a feel on the first date thinking he’ll ‘fix’ me,” you raged to your best friend as the two of you stood side by side in your bathroom removing your makeup. “Well, at least you’ll be at your internship every afternoon now, less chances of running to him on campus.” You smiled at the thought of not seeing Seongwoo; however your mood instantly darkened when you remembered your shared math class. “The fucker still has math with me; I’ll have to see his face and obnoxiously large ego for a good hour each day,” you groaned, rubbing furiously at your eye with the cotton pad. Nayoung just shrugged, finishing up and heading out of the bathroom. You finished and trailed after her. “There will always be the bad parts of life, Y/N. Just try thinking of the good things, like chocolate and Kang Dongho’s face,” she swooned. You laughed, “Or, ya know, my internship at the biggest law firm in the country, but Kang Dongho’s face is a good second.” Nayoung rolled her eyes at your comment, “Kang Dongho’s face is a gift from god, Y/N, a gift.” You crawled into your bed and turned off the lamp, “Mhm, you now what’s a gift from god? An internship that takes me far far away from Ong Seongwoo.”

little bit of body image issues of different sorts in here, including a character thinking they’re too big and also what could be read as a transphobic remark. Very light and fluffy overall, though.

They’re driving up the California coast in the middle of summer, and Blue has had enough.

“Pull over,” she says, and Gansey immediately does so, no questions. Henry, on official DJ duty, rises one well-crafted eyebrow at that, but decides teasing her girlfriend about how closely she listens to her other girlfriend is a silly endeavour when she could lean over and kiss Gansey’s cheek instead.

“You’re cute,” she says, and enjoys Gansey’s blush.

Blue is muttering in the backseat, and then she’s opened the door and slammed it behind her.

“Pop the trunk!”

Henry does so, and admires how nice her new nail polish looks against the colour of the Pig’s dashboard.

There’s rummaging in the back, and then Blue, wearing a lot less clothing than she was when she got out of the car, is tapping on Gansey’s window.

“Are you coming or what?”

Gansey stares at her. So does Henry. They’ve gone swimming a few times, of course, but it’s been mostly in pretty public places, so Blue had kept her shirt on. Henry and Gansey had, in an act of solidarity, followed suit. Both were a little relieved, not that their girlfriend felt uncomfortable but that they had an excuse to cover up as well. Henry had grown into her body, but it was still softer than she was always told it should be, and she knew that was the patriarchy talking (with a little bit of racism thrown in, of course) but she still didn’t much like looking at her tummy in the mirror. Gansey’s self-consciousness was newer, had to do with the new scars that we’re now scattered across her body, looking like the roots and branches that brought her back to life. A small price to pay for the air in her lungs and the beats of her heart, but they were still large and very apparent, and she wasn’t sure if she was ready for the staring and the questions just yet.

But they’re pulled over somewhere between Los Angeles and Santa Barbara, and Blue’s not wearing a tshirt now.

“We’re something, alright,” Henry gets out.

Blue rolls her eyes. “Shut up and get dressed. Or not. I’m going swimming.”

She’s already in the water by the time the other two get their act together. Gansey, always thinking ahead, spreads three towels out across the sand, and Henry sprays some sunscreen in the general direction of her exposed skin. Her bathing suit is high waisted and polka dotted, and when she asks Gansey to apply sunscreen to her back, she enjoys how red her girlfriend’s face goes, and how good it feels, her hands running down her back.

“Don’t stress too much,” she reminds her. “We’ll have to reapply after we get out of the water anyway.”

Gansey kisses the back of her neck, and now it’s Henry’s turn to blush.

“I like your suit,” she says, in that tone that makes Henry feel like some recently discovered wonder. And then Gansey’s off, running across the sand to join Blue in the water. Gansey’s suit is a classic one, black and surprisingly skimpy. Henry had expected a little more business. One of those bathing suits that promised +3 speed as long as the brand was prominently displayed. In the water, Gansey and Blue look every bit like the magical creatures they are, water reflecting Gansey’s scars like poetry, Blue’s hair free of its many clips and doing some excellent imitation of a crown.

Henry runs out to them and dives into the water, making sure to splash both of them.

“You two looked like you needed a sea monster,” she says, and earns a kiss on both cheeks for that.

In the water their flaws do not disappear, but are magnified in increasingly fantastic ways. Blue’s bottoms have a skirt attached, and in the water it twirls outwards, killing the distance between them. Henry’s pale thighs stand out between her girlfriends’ darker ones, magnified in a way that should make Henry uncomfortable but just makes her feel strong. And Gansey’s scars meld with the water’s movement, almost hypnotic.

They’re out of the water and drying off on on their towels, Gansey reading a book that is really much too heavy for a beach day but that isn’t stopping her, Blue splayed across her two girlfriends and doodling something on Henry’s shoulder. Henry is content to just sit here and bask in the sun and the company of her two favourite people, sending occasional snapchats to Cheng2, who is stuck at some family friend’s wedding and none too happy about it.

“Hey guys, Cheng2 wants to know if we’re gonna hit up Vancouver Pride? It’s the end of July, which is probably when we’ll be up there anyway…”

Blue hums her approval, while Gansey puts her book down and thinks about it for a moment before nodding her head as well.

“That sounds doable. I’ve never been to a Pride celebration, so you’ll have to guide me through it.”

Henry sits up, and Blue slides down her torso a little. “What? Really?”

Gansey makes a face. “It’s not like I spent much time thinking about my sexuality at all, before…”

“Before you went to an all-girls school and lost your shit?” Blue supplies.

Henry cackles as Gansey nods solemnly. “That’s one way of putting it, I suppose.”

Blue leans over and rearranges herself so that she can give Gansey a lingering kiss on the lips, which is of course when the car pulls up. Blue pulls away, Gansey tenses, and a door slams.

“Hello, ladies!”

Blue’s face gets stormy just as fast as real thunderclouds roll in, and by the time the three guys have stumbled down the little bank between the road and the beach, they’ve arranged themselves so that they’re all on their respective towels, although they’re all till touching. Blue’s got her arms crossed over her chest defensively. Between the growing they’ve done that summer and the help of the bathing suit, there’s nothing really to hide about her chest, but growing up in Virginia has made her cautious, and Henry makes sure to give her shoulder a little bump with her own, just a reminder that she’s not alone and they’ll be fine. She relaxes slightly.

“Hello,” Henry says, her Aglionby smile firmly in place.

One of the other guys waves back.

“Hey,” says the third. “Three of you and three of us.”

“Shut up, man.” That’s the first guy, who has on a white tank top and swim trunks that can really only be described as ugly. “Hey. I’m Tad. The rude one is Joey, and the quiet dude is Brian.”

Of course one of them is named Tad. Gansey hides a laugh in her own private school grin.

“Cool,” Henry says.

“Yeah, yeah. Cool.” Echoes Tad. Brian nods.

“You’re all girls, right?” Asks Rude Joey.

Blue moves to stand up. “That’s my cue to leave.”

Tad hits Joey, harder than Joey was expecting, by the wounded look on his face.

“Dude, what the fuck? I’m sorry, he’s an asshole. You don’t have to leave, and we won’t keep bothering you if you don’t want us to. Are you roadtripping before college? That’s what we’re doing. We’re from Vancouver.”

“Vancouver, Washington, or BC?”

“Washington.”

Henry can’t help but tsk. “Oh, I’m sorry.”

The three boys laugh. “You from the other one, then?”

“Just me. These two are from a magical place called Virginia.”

“Did you get struck by lightning?” That’s Rude Joey again. This time, it’s Brian who hits him. “I don’t mean anything bad by it! It looks sick. Like… Like cool sick.”

“I know what sick means,” Gansey says, like she’s totally been using such slang her whole life.

“Right. Yeah, it looks cool. I was just curious.”

“No, I was not struck by lightning.” Gansey looks torn, like she wants to go into an explanation for what, exactly, differentiates her scars from lightning scars, but also doesn’t want to engage.

“We’re going to a party tonight,” Tad tells Henry. “If you and your friends want to come. Or just you.”

“Oh?” Not counting Joey, the other two seem like decent sort, decent enough that Henry thinks she can get them to back off just by being honest. “Sorry, I don’t really go to parties without my girlfriend.”

Tad blinks, and then they all kinda look at the three of them in turn. “Oh! Oh, yeah. Of course. Well, like I said. All three of you are welcome to come, then.”

“Which one of you is the girlfriend?”

Blue, still sitting between the two of them, speaks up for the first time. Her grin is bordering on carnivorous, as she reaches out and grabs Gansey’s hand with one of hers, the other finding the inside Henry’s elbow.

“We both are,” she says.

This makes all three of them do their best imitation of a peanut gallery, complete with a spluttered noise from Joey.

“Come on.” Blue does stand up this time, pulling the both of them to their feet. “It’s my turn to drive.”

They make quick work of their little camp, and Henry can’t help but turn back and give them a cheeky wave as they head back up the little sandbank.

The last thing they hear before they bundle back up into the Dream Pig is a third voice, which must belong to the quiet Brian.

“Lesbians can do that?”

“Should we bother telling them we’re not lesbians?” Gansey whispers to the other two, and then they’re all laughing, even as they shrug back into clothing better suited to driving.

“I am,” Blue reminds her, and snags the keys from Gansey’s front pocket with just the right kind of look in her eyes to get Gansey going scarlet.

Lesbian or not, #lesbianscandothat? becomes Henry’s tag for the rest of the trip.
