Love it when people act like Zuko was always a 'fuck the rules' bad boy.Guys,he spent over half the show trying to please his dad and his attitude problems came from a mix of trauma responses and being spoiled-Zuko wasn't a 'rebel' until his redemption arc,he was just a jackass

I honestly like that Chole betrayed them at the end of season 3. It genuinely seemed like an interesting and good move to me.
I thought she was going to have a arch like Zuko's from Avatar: The Last Air Bender. (Very general spoilers ahead) Where he's bad, good for a bit, bad again, then permanently good (along with the internal struggle in-between those alignments).
But every time she's shown up in season 4 (as far as I've seen) she's not "bad" (as in actively working with Hawkmoth or if not that, trying to sabotage Ladybug) she's just... The annoying school bully that hates Marinette. She's not developing anymore either and she shows very little remorse for her actions. It's like it's season 1 again. I'm still holding out for Chloe redemption in season 5 or later because I don't see the show/writing as being *so bad* that they ignore Chloe's character entirely. But it definitely makes me uneasy with how they've handled her so far. And it also makes me lose hope a bit for how good a redemption it will be if they're not building her up to be anything more than an annoyance at school.
I don't mind Zoé's character. She doesn't have much going on but she also hasn't appeared too much as a relevant character. I think they can make her better with time. But with how Chloe's being written now, it really does feel like Zoé just exists at this point to replace Chloe in the Queen Bee role. Which is just stupid? It's fine to replace Queen Bee (personally would like to see Chloe develop without the miraculous and to never get one again even after she's "good") but I don't get why you'd introduce a character *just* to replace her. They could literally write fights that don't require the bee miraculous at all. Or have Ladybug or someone else use it. It doesn't *have* to be Chloe nor does it *have* to be someone new. So Zoé, while I do somewhat like her, just feels like an unnecessary character to have.
Again, my problem with Chloe is that the writers don’t want her to be a hero anymore, but they don’t want her to be a full-blown villain or even an anti-hero. They clearly don’t want the audience to root for Chloe anymore, but they don’t want to go all the way with her character even though it makes sense for her to help out Shadowmoth as a field agent now that Nathalie is bedridden from using the Peacock Miraculous. They built her up as a serious threat in the Season 3 finale after her previous akumatizations were, and now we get even more comedic-looking Akuma forms for her like Queen Banana and Penalteam.
The thing about how the writers are trying and failing to shake up Chloe’s character after the betrayal is even worse because there’s a show that has a character who was manipulated by another villain and eventually turned against her allies, and one with a bee motif at that, that is far more complex in only a few episodes compared to everything Chloe’s done this season.
Aguilera, from the currently airing Kamen Rider Revice, was supposedly the leader of the Deadmans cult, which intended to resurrect their demonic leader, Giff, with Aguilera acting as Giff’s “fiance”. However, it was later revealed that she wasn’t actually the leader of the cult, as another villain, Olteca, planned to sacrifice her to act as the vessel for Giff once he was resurrected. Even after the other Kamen Riders saved her from being sacrificed and it seemed like the statue containing Giff’s spirit was destroyed, it broke her. Because she was conditioned to love Giff since a child and because she hated both the heroes and true villains, she went rogue and is currently affiliated with herself and a recently depowered/reformed villain who still wants to help her, Julio. In addition, the Kamen Riders, mainly Sakura/Kamen Rider Jeanne, who fights Aguilera the most.
In just a few episodes, there’s an interesting shake-up in the status quo connected to Aguilera, she becomes a greater threat after assuming her Queen Bee Deadman form, and there’s more drama as the heroes still want to help this woman who was conditioned to love a demonic god and is really screwed up in the head.
Compare this to Chloe, who just acts worse than she ever did before without really explaining what she did last season to the point where you’d think this was a parody of her, as the other characters stop trying to help her and traded her in for the new model, Zoe.
Is it any surprise I think the actual villainess with depth is more interesting than what Astruc’s team is doing with Chloe right now?

Maiko ask - who would fret more over a sick baby Druk? Mai or Zuko? And would they shoo the other away because they thought they knew best, or would they cooperate with each other for Druk’s sake?
Oh, please let me start from the very beginning!
When Zuko only just brought baby Druk to the palace everyone (including the gaang) was amazed and excited because “That’s a living dragon!” and “Look at him! He’s so cute!”
Mai only sighed, unimpressed “You cannot seriously expect from me to love this ugly flying lizard, Zuko!”
Zuko turned into a responsible-parent mode. All days he was spending in his throne room or in his office, busy with duties, and all evenings he was spending by playing and cooing with Druk. No need to say how much their gushing annoyed Mai.
When little Druk started to climb in their bed and curled into a ball beside Zuko, she only mumbled, irritated, “Your dragon is ruining our marriage!”
(Good for her that Druk usually woke up with the first sun’s rays, so as Zuko, and ran away. So, after Zuko’s morning firebending training Mai at least could spend some quality time with her husband though she hated to wake up so early!)
It got even worse when instead of interrupting Zuko’s council meetings and each meal, that little nasty lizard started to follow poor Fire Lady everywhere.
“Why is your dragon chasing me, Zuko?”
Zuko only shrugged and offered her a sheepish smile. “Sun Warriors mentioned that. The dragon and his rider are the one – one heart, one soul, one fire.”
“If you’re two are the one, why is he chasing me, then?”
“They said that he’ll take all my habits. Maybe he follows you because you’re my most favorite person in the world.”
“Oh, Agni.”
Then this ugly flying creature started to make big troubles, Druk turned into a small hooligan – he broke all vases, filled with smoke their chambers, burned one of Mai’s favorites dresses, chewed all important scrolls and even stole some of her knives (good he didn’t steal their crowns considering his love to shining things). Mai was just furious which was quite unexpected from her – after “the knives incident” Zuko and his newfound kid hid for half of a day.
But then Druk once interrupted one especially terrible tea hosting with court ladies, and released Mai from all day long boredom in those noble pig-chickens company. It was a great favor, so she thought for a second that maybe the nasty lizard is not that bad. Later Druk scared all turtle-ducks from the pond, and they ran throughout all gardens. Mai couldn’t help but laugh from Zuko’s horrified reaction when her husband heard it (honestly, Zuko’s obsession with these birds annoyed her a little). Slowly Mai’s walls began to break, and she found that she softened a little to Druk.
Everything changed when Zuko left for the diplomatic mission to Earth Kingdom (Mai hated Earth Kingdom), and they stayed alone. All day Druk didn’t leave Mai even for a moment, nudged her and demanded her attention. At the night he climbed in the big – empty  – bed in royal chambers, and curled on Zuko’s place, whining barely audible and blinking big crocodog tears. Mai reached to stroke his red scaled head and admitted with a sad sigh, “Yeah, I miss him too.”
From that night Druk became Mai’s absolute favorite. He continued to follow her everywhere and growled at noisy councilmen/prying noble ladies when they got too close to Mai, he tugged her dress and slept on her lap while she was working, he purred and curled beside her every night. When Zuko returned home he couldn’t believe it.
(Actually, Mai became Druk’s favorite too, and sometimes the dragon was even jealous of Zuko. Zuko got pouty because “Hey, buddy, I love her too. She’s my wife!”)
And then their baby got sick. At the beginning Fire Lord and Fire Lady fought, because:
“It’s your fault, you allowed him to eat cold meat!”
“He’s the dragon, Zuko! He breathes fire! It’s your fault, why did you walk with him in the rain?!”
“Because he’s the dragon, Mai!”
They were arguing and grumbling at each other all night, and tried literally everything, but poor Druk only got worse by morning. Without hesitation Mai and Zuko left the palace, sent a letter to Uncle Iroh to replace them a little, and went to Fire Islands. They both were on the edge from worrying, Mai threatened to stab Sun Warriors if they didn’t heal Druk.
Druk was too weak when they reached the ancient city, if they’d stayed any longer in the capital, they could lose him forever.
Sun Warriors calmed a worried royal couple, saying that Druk got the usual dragon’s illness which he could only heal in the dragon’s surroundings, so he should spend a few days with parents.
They had no choice but wait patiently, so the next few days Zuko gave Mai a tour at the ruins/Sun warriors city, and re-told in 10th time about their field-trip with Aang (besides, that forced “vacation” was a breath of fresh air after the dullness of the palace and all politics).
When Druk fully recovered, Zuko should’ve been to get up to the Masters and take him personally. For the first time in her life Mai saw real dragons, and that was terrifying (she just hoped they wouldn’t burn her husband to the ashes). But they deemed him worthy again, although they didn’t want to let Druk go, the baby dragon flew to Zuko on his own, and climbed on his shoulders – Druk chose his master.
They all returned home peacefully. Needless to say that Druk became an honorary member of Fire Nation Royal Family (and one of their favorite kids too).
(Thank you for the ask <3 That was a pure joy to write about them with Druk)

How 2… interact w/ this bastard (LOK Edition)
Continuation from here.
So given Zuko’s age in LOK it’s entirely unlikely that Ozai is still around which obviously complicates things.  None of these ideas entirely make sense with canon, but I’m totally willing to nudge things for the sake of interaction if you’re cool with it. (Read:  I’m a dumbass with too much energy :D )
So some options we have are:
Spirit Ozai.  Why he’s around, IDK.  But.  It’s an option.
Aang’s energybending has extended his lifespan/halted his aging.  Why?  Because he’d hate it and he deserves to suffer B|
Time travel shenanigans.  Send your muse back to Ozai’s time period or Ozai forward.
Uh...... ideas? pls?
Or, if you’d rather set something between ATLA and LOK, here’s a brief summary of how he’d change in the various verses:
Prisoner Verse
Essentially the “canon” verse so to say.  After years and years in prison, Ozai actually does calm down to some extent.  He still puts up a tough front to anyone that comes to visit him and he doesn’t regret his actions, but comes to accept that things have changed and...  it might not be that bad.  More than anything, though, he’s bitter and depressed and just wants out.
Phoenix King Verse
It’s safe to say that the world doesn’t fare well under Ozai’s reign.  The war continues despite him constantly stopping rebellions, and he’s starting to wonder what the point of this was.  Of course, trying to change anything would mean admitting he’s wrong and his pride won’t allow him to willingly surrender any of his territory, so he keeps moving forward on a path he hates that no one wants to see happen.  Saying the King has grown soft in his years wouldn’t exactly be correct, but he’s certainly not quite the maniacial, fire-happy bastard he was some years ago.
Red Rider Verse
The closest to a “happy” ending that Ozai can possibly get, he has no set home and merely wanders the world.  The uprisings in his name have mostly stopped, but there’s still the occasional group he feels the need to take down.  He eventually comes to begrudgingly respect his son to some degree, but still harbors a deep, bitter hatred of both him and the Avatar.  To say he’s happy wouldn’t quite be right, but he’s found some peace and managed to start healing from the hatred and pain he was raised with.  He still supports the Firelord (in title only), just from very, very far away.

Avatar: TLA  (Part 16 of many)
Tumblr media
Request:  None
Requested By:  Nobody
Pairing:  Zuko x reader
Summary:  Avatar Day
Warnings:  Methods of death mentioned.
A/N:  I’m not a huge fan of this episode, but…..here we go.
Word Count:  3K+
  A rumble stirred you from your sleep.  You sat up in your sleeping bag, just as four rhino creatures, with firenation riders atop them, emerged from the woods and began circling your group.
“Give up!  You’re completely surrounded!”  The leader yelled.  A couple archers shot fire-tipped arrows at Sokka sleeping bag just as he crawled out.
“Come on, come on, come on!!”  He shouted, running for Appa.
“My scrolls!”  Katara complained.
“My staff!”  Aang added.  They both ran off, collecting their items.
“Guys, come on!”  You shouted, now fully awake.  They ran back, jumping into the saddle.  “Yip, yip!”  You told Appa.  He flew into the air, but one of the men shot fire, forcing Aang, Katara and Sokka to duck.
“Wait!  My boomerang!”  Sokka shouted.
“There’s no time!”  Katara informed.
“Oh, I see.  So there’s time to get your scroll, and time to get his staff, but no time to get my boomerang!?”  He complained.
“That’s correct!”  She replied.  You flew Appa higher, into the clouds, so that you were out of sight.  You flew for a little while, making sure that the attackers were gone, before coming back down and spotting a town.  You landed Appa, sliding off and walking to the market.
“Sorry about your boomerang, Sokka.”  You heard Aang tell Sokka.  Sokka was currently sitting on the ground, hugging his knees to his chest.
“I feel like I’ve lost part of my identity.”  Sokka confessed.  He stood.  “Imagine if you lost your arrow.”  He told Aang, lifting the hat off his head.  “Or if Katara lost her….hair loopies.”  He gestured.  “Or if Y/n lost her bracelet.”  Your hand instinctively went to your wrist as Katara hugged her brother, trying to comfort him.
“Here’s your produce, ponytail guy.”  The man at the market said before disappearing inside his shop.  Sokka took the basket and frowned.
“I used to be ‘boomerang guy’.”  He muttered, walking away.  Katara paid a man, while you watched Sokka leave.
“Hey!  Watertribe money!”  The man exclaimed.
“I hope that’s okay.”  Katara told him.
“So long as it’s money!  Have a nice Avatar day.”
“Avatar day?”  Aang asked, excitement written on his features.
“You guys are going to the festival, right?”  The man asked, turning around to face you.  You all exchanged looks, before following the man further into town.
“There’s a holiday for the Avatar.”  Aang noted.  “Who knew?”
“Look!  They made a giant Kyoshi float!”  Katara informed, pointing behind you.  You all ran closer.
“And here comes Avatar Roku.”  Sokka noted, pointing as well.  He seemed to be in better spirits.
“Having a huge festival in your honor is great, but frankly, it’s just nice to be appreciated.”  Aang confessed.
“And it’s nice to appreciate their deep-fried festival food.”  Sokka informed, taking a bite of something.  You smirked at him, until Katara said something that drew your attention.
“Aang, look!”  She said.
“That’s the biggest me I’ve ever seen.”  Aang admitted.
“Makes sense.”  You muttered.  A man suddenly ran towards the statues, carrying a torch.
“Now a torch!  That’s a nice prop!”  Sokka noted.  “It’s bright, dangerous, and smells manly.”
You raised an unconvinced eyebrow at him.
“Hey, what’s that guy doing?”  Katara asked, pointing.  The man with the torch ran at the statue of Kyoshi, jumping through the material it was made of, setting it on fire.  He set Roku and Aang’s figures on fire as well.
“Down with the Avatar!  Down with the Avatar!”  Everyone chanted.  Your mouth dropped open in shock.  Your arms fell to your sides.
“What?”  You muttered quietly.  The man threw the torch into Aang’s figure’s eye.  Aang winced.  Katara rushed forward, putting out the fires.
“That party pooper is ruining Avatar day!”  A man shouted.  Aang frowned.  You eyed him wearily.  He jumped, landing on his figure’s shoulder, taking off his hat.
“That party pooper is my friend!”  He declared.  You face-palmed.
“We’re doomed.”
“It’s the Avatar, himself!!”  A man shouted.
“He’s going to kill us with his awesome Avatar powers!”  Shouted another.  Your eyebrows furrowed as you turned to them.
“What?”  You muttered quietly.
“No, I’m not.  I-” Aang started, raising his hand.  A man panicked, and jumped into the crowd, hiding.  Aang looked at his hand, placing it behind his back.
“I suggest you leave!  You’re not welcome here, Avatar.”  The man from before informed.
“Why not?”  Katara asked.  “Aang helps people.”
“It’s true.”  Aang assured, floating down.  “I’m on your side.”
“I find that hard to swallow, considering what you did to us in your past life!”  The man admitted.  “It was Avatar Kyoshi!  She murdered our glorious leader, Chin the great.”
“You think that I murdered someone?”  Aang asked softly.
“We used to be a great society before you killed our leader.”  A different, elderly man spoke up.
“Aang would never do something like that.  No Avatar would!”  Katara defended.  “And it’s not fair for you all to question his honor!”
“It was in a different life!  It’s not his fault.”  You voiced.
“Give me a chance to clear my name!”  Aang pleaded.
“The only way to prove your innocence is to stand trial.”  The man informed.
“I’ll gladly stand trial.”  Aang answered.
“You’ll have to follow all our rules.  That includes paying bail.”
“No problem.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~
“How was I supposed to know they wouldn’t take watertribe money?”  Aang asked.  You sighed, rubbing at your temples as you paces back and forth in front of Aang’s cell.
“So, some people don’t like you, big deal.”  Sokka told him.
“You can’t make everyone happy.”  You added.
“There’s a whole nation of firebenders that hate you.”  Sokka continued.  “Now let’s bust you out of here.”
“I can’t.”
“Sure ya can!  A little, whoosh!  Swish, swish, swish!  Airbending slice!”  Sokka exclaimed.  “And we’re on our way.”
“I think what master swish is trying to say, is that you’re supposed to be out saving the world.  You can’t do that locked up in here.”
“I can’t do that with people thinking I’m a murderer, either.”
“Oh, for heaven’s sake, it’s one bloody island.”  You grumbled, rolling your eyes.  “We don’t have time for this.”
Aang was silent for a few moments.  “I need you guys to help prove my innocence.”
“How are we gonna do that?”  Sokka asked.  “The crime happened over three-hundred years ago.”
“That’s okay, Sokka.  For some reason, I thought you were an expert detective.”  Aang told him.
“Well, I guess I could be classified as such.”  Sokka replied.  You rolled your eyes.
“Yeah!”  Katara agreed.  She placed her hand on her brother’s shoulder.  “Back home, he was famous for solving the case of the missing seal jerky.”
“Everyone wanted to blame it on the polar-leopard, but I figured out it was old man Jarko, wearing polar-leopard boots.”  Sokka added.  “See, a real eight-hundred pound polar-leopard would have left much deeper tracks.  Okay, I guess I am pretty good.”
“You said all of that in one breath?”  You asked.
“So, you’ll help me with my case?”  Aang questioned.  Sokka thought for a moment.
“Fine.  But I’m gonna need some new props.”  He determined before walking out.  He returned a little bit later, a hat on his head with an attached monocle.  Katara chuckled, and Sokka extended the monocle, looking at her through it.  “What?”  He asked.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“This is the crime scene.”  The man told Sokka.  You and Katara tagged along, seeing if you could be of any assistance.  Sokka scurried around, looking things over.  “This is the footprint of the killer, Kyoshi.”  Sokka leaned over, examining the footprint.  “It was at sunset.  Three-hundred and seventy years ago, today, that she emerged from the temple, and struck down Chin the Great.  After that tragic day, we built this statue to immortalize our great leader.  Feel free to appreciate it.”  He finished, walking away.  You raised an eyebrow at him as Sokka rushed forward, examining the statue.  He stood for a second or two, before running off.
“This temple and the statue were cut from the same stone, and we know that the statue was built after Chin died.”
“So, if they were built at the same time, that means-”
“SHH!  I wanna solve it!!”  Sokka cut his sister off, glaring at her.  He stepped around her, pointing.  “That means Kyoshi never set foot in this temple.”
“That’s a big hole in the mayor’s story, but it’s not enough to prove Aang’s innocence.”
“You’re right.”  He pulled out a long object, and started blowing bubbles out of it like a pipe.  “We need to go to Kyoshi Island.”
“Where’d you get that?”  Katara asked.
“What’s Kyoshi Island?”  You asked, very lost.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Appa flew into town, a bell signaling your arrival.  You gazed at the large statue of Kyoshi, thinking that this situation was a little ironic.  One island that loves Kyoshi, and has a statue of her, the other hates her, and has a statue of their fallen leader.
You turned, hearing shouts, and saw a bunch of people dressed in blue run to greet the group.  A man near the front foamed at the mouth, passing out.  Your eyes shot open in concern.
“Where’s Aangie?”  A girl voiced, stomping.  You almost gagged.
“He couldn’t be here, Coco.”  Katara informed.  Everyone groaned, walking away.  Well, almost everyone.  One man remained.  You cocked an eyebrow.  “Oyaji, Aang is in jail.”  Katara explained.  “The town of Chin says that he murdered their leader in a past life.”
“They say it was Kyoshi.”  Sokka added, holding his pipe.
“Kyoshi!?  That’s crazy talk!”  The man, Oyaji, voiced.  “I’ll take you to her shrine.  Maybe something there will help you clear her name.”
Oyaji led you all through town, past several houses.  Sokka jogged, catching up.  “So, uh.  What’s Suki up to?”  He asked.  “Is she around?”
“Actually, she and the other warriors left to fight in the war.  You kids left a big impact on Suki.  She said you inspired her, and she wanted to help change the world.”
“Oh.  Well, that’s great.”  Sokka voiced, though he sounded upset.
“Who’s Suki?”  You asked, eyebrows knitted together.
“I’ll explain later.”  Katara assured.
“This temple was converted into a shrine to Kyoshi.”  Oyaji informed.  “The clerics tell us these relics are still connected to her spirit.  That’s her kimono.”  He told Katara, who was looking at it.
“She had exquisite taste.”  Katara noted.
“Please don’t touch!”
“These fans….these were her weapons, no?”  Sokka asked, picking one up and examining it.
“Also refrain from touching the fans.”  Oyaji pleaded.
“These were her boots?  Her feet must have been enorm-” You cut yourself off, coming to a realization.
“The biggest of any Avatar.”  Oyaji informed with pride.
“Wait a minute.  Big feet?  Little footprints?  There’s no way-” Katara was cut off again by her brother, who cleared his throat.
“Special outfit, hat and pipe.  Do these things mean anything to you?”  Sokka asked.
“You’re right.  I’m sorry.  Please, continue.”  Katara told him, stepping back.
“There’s no way Kyoshi could have made that footprint.  And therefore, there is nothing linking her to the crime scene.”  Sokka said.  Katara crossed her arms and rolled her eyes.
“Brilliant, Sokka.”
Oyaji led Sokka to a painting.  “This piece is called ‘The Birth of Kyoshi’.  It was painted at sunrise on the day this island was founded.  Why, it was today, in fact.  Three-hundred and seventy years ago.”
Sokka made a noise.  “Wait, three-hundred and seventy years ago?!  Are you sure it was today?”
“Well, seeing how it’s Kyoshi day, yes, I’m sure.”
“This ceremony didn’t take place at sunrise.”  Sokka noted upon further inspection.  “It took place at sunset.  Look at the shadows.”
Your eyebrows shot up in surprise.  “Wow.  I didn’t think you were that observant.”  You told him.  Sokka shrugged.
“I try.”
“They point east, so the sun must have been in the west.”  Katara pointed out.
“So what?”
Sokka pushed his sister out of the way before she could answer.  “So if Kyoshi was at the ceremony at sunset, she couldn’t have been in Chin, committing the crime.  She has an alibi.”
“Let’s head back with the news.”  You suggested.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Honorable mayor, we’ve prepared a solid defense for the Avatar.”  Katara started.  You were back in front of Aang’s cell, though this time with the mayor.  And a case.  “We did an investigation and found some very strong evidence.”
“Evidence?”  The mayor laughed.  “That’s not how our court system works.”
“Enlighten us.”  You challenged, crossing your arms.
“Simple.  I say what happened, then he says what happened, and then I decide who’s right.  That’s why we call it justice.  Because it’s just us.”  He laughed again, walking away.
“That is bogus!”  You yelled after him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Everyone loved Chin the Great because he was so great.  Then the Avatar showed up and killed him!  That’s how it happened.”  The mayor stated, walking away with a large grin on his face.  You fumed.
“I can’t believe this.”  You muttered, sinking further into your seat.
“The accused will now present its argument.”  A man said, backing away.
“You can do it, Aang.  Just remember the evidence.”  Sokka directed.
“Right.  Evidence.  Ladies and gentlemen!  I’m about to tell you what really happened!  And I will prove it with facts.  Fact number one!  Uh.”
“The footprints.”  Sokka whispered.
“Oh, yeah.  You see, I have very large feet.”  Aang said lamely.  He pointed down, at his small feet.  You face-palmed.  “Furthermore, your temple matched your statue.”
“Aang, you’re defending your case, not complimenting their architecture.”  You mumbled, running your hand through your hair.
“But, I was in a painting at sunset.  So, there you have it!  I’m not guilty!”
Sokka and Katara both had worried grins on their faces, but tried to be supportive of him.  “He’s dead.”  Sokka spoke quietly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Mayor Tong!  I’d like for the court to hear one last testimony.”  Katara informed.  Recess had just finished.
“I have already told you!  It is just me and the accused!  You can’t call any witnesses!”
“This isn’t just any witness.  I’m going to call…….Avatar Kyoshi, herself!”
Murmurs formed in the crowd.  The man stepped aside revealing Kyoshi.  Or rather, Aang in makeup, and in Kyoshi’s large clothes.  Your eyes shut.  This wasn’t going to go well.
“What are you doing?”  Sokka whispered to his sister once she returned to her seat.
“Well, she is Aang’s past life.  Maybe wearing her stuff with trigger something.”
“I do believe in the power of stuff.”  Sokka agreed, pulling out the extendable monocle.  The mayor stood.
“This is a mockery of Chin law!”
“Please!  If you could just wait one more second!  I’m sure Kyoshi will be here!”  Katara pleaded.
“Hey, everybody!  Avatar Kyoshi, here!”  Aang spoke in a high-pitched tone.  You fought the urge to scream.
“This is ridiculous.”  The mayor noted, walking towards Aang.
“Now on that, we agree.”  You mumbled.
“For the murder of Chin the Great, this court finds the Avatar-” He didn’t get to finish.  Aang was consumed by a tornado, and everything grew dark.  You squinted against the wind, just in time to see the tornado disappear, revealing Avatar Kyoshi.  For real, this time.  She stood taller than the mayor, and perhaps anyone you’d ever seen.  Your mouth dropped open in shock.
“I killed Chin the Conqueror.”  She spoke.  Her voice was powerful and strong.  “A horrible tyrant, Chin was expanding his army to all corners of the continent.  “When they came to the neck of the peninsula, where we lived, he demanded our immediate surrender.  I warned him that I would not sit passively while they took our home.  But he did not back down.  On that day, we split from the main land.  I created Kyoshi Island so our people could be safe from invaders.”  She bowed her head, the tornado returning, and the world brightening up again.  Aang was left in her place.
You and Katara ran over to him.
“So, what just happened?”  He asked.
“I have a new favorite Avatar.”  You informed.  Katara glared at you before returning her attention to Aang.
“Uh, you kinda confessed.  Sorry.”
The mayor stood.  “And I find you guilty!  Bring out the wheel of punishment!”
You sighed.  “Yeah, that’s fair.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“The accused will now spin the wheel of punishment to determine his sentence.”
There were many horrible things on the board.  Laying on a bed of needles.  Eaten by a shark.  Mauled by a bear.  Burned alive.  That kind of stuff.
“I said I would face justice.  So I will.”  Aang spoke, walking towards the wheel.  He gave it a spin, and one of the men in the crowd spoke up.
“Come on, torture machine!”
“Eaten by bears!”  Shouted another.
“Razor pit!”
“Community service!”  Katara hoped.  “Please stop on community service!”
The wheel slowed to a stop.
“Looks like it’s boiled in oil.”  The man said.  The crowd cheered.  You groaned.
“We were so close!”  You gestured at the wheel, revealing community service was next.  Suddenly a bomb flew in, exploding.  You turned around, seeing the same men on rhinos that attacked you earlier.
“We’ve come to claim this village for the Firelord!”  The leader announced.  “Now, show me your leader!  So I may-” He cut himself off, giving one of his troops a signal.  The cut the statue of Chin, destroying it.
“Good riddance.”  You muttered.
“-dethrone him.”  He finished.
“That’s him, over there!”  A man shouted, pointing towards the mayor and Aang.  The mayor hid behind the wheel.
“You, Avatar, do something!”
“Gee, I’d love to help, but I’m supposed to be boiled in oil.”  He replied.  You grinned.
“There, community service.”  The mayor said, turning the wheel.  “Now serve our community and get rid of those rhinos!”
Aang smiled, rushing forward and jumping out of the outfit.  You grabbed everything he had so carelessly kicked off.  Aang, Katara and Sokka all took care of the intruders, while you trailed behind them, grabbing Kyoshi’s things.
“Guys!  Be careful!  These are antiques!”  You complained.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“From now on, we’ll celebrate a new Avatar Day!”  The mayor announced.  It was night, and everyone was in town, fireworks being set off into the sky.  “In honor of the day Avatar Aang saved us from the ruff rhino’s invasion!”
“What is this?”  Sokka asked, looking down at the bowl in his hands.
“That’s our new festival food.  Un-fried dough.  May we eat it, and be reminded of how on this day, was not boiled in oil.”
“That’s clever.”  You noted, looking down at the little un-cooked Aang shapes.
“Happy Avatar Day, everyone.”  Katara said, eating one of the ‘Aang’s’.
“This is by far the worst town we’ve ever been to.”  Sokka noted.  You nodded in agreement.
“You can say that again.”
A/n:  We get to meet Toph in the next one!

*author interview*
I could’ve sworn I’ve answered some of these questions before, but I can’t find the post now, so you get them again! Tagged by @ladymdc and @out-of-the-embers, who are both wonderful people - thank you!
In return, (rattling my brains for people who haven’t already done this) I’ll tag @elgara-vallas-dalen @naiatabris @pigeontheoneandonly and @ma-suranas
-
Name: Lykegenia in most places that aren’t Tumblr
Fandoms: I’m active in Dragon Age and Mass Effect, have several fics in Avatar:The Last Airbender, and tend to hover around other things but not participate. I recently started Fallout 4, so I’ll probably fall down that molerat hole soon.
Where You Post: Both here and on AO3
Most Popular One-Shot: Going by kudos, it’s Jubilant, which is something I wrote very long ago as a standalone entry for Zutara week, that has Zuko and Katara practicing bending together and realising they maybe don’t hate each other as much as they thought. Interestingly, it’s closely followed by Hot Water, the first piece of smut I ever wrote and which I am too embarrased by to ever go back and read.
Most Popular Multi-Chapter Story: My Zutara story, The Things We Hide, an AU where the Southern Water Tribe wasn’t conquered until the return of Sozin’s Comet, and Katara ends up as a political prisoner secretly working to bring down the Fire Nation from the inside. It’s got political scheming, bending battles, Blue Spirit/Painted Lady shenanigans, jail breaks, daring rescues, and Zuko being an utter dork around the girl he loves.
Favorite Story You Wrote:  It’s still ongoing, but I’ve been obsessed with writing The Falcon and the Rose for pretty much three years now, and aside from still being very invested in the story, it’s taught me so much about how to write longfic, how to worldbuild, and how to build character arcs. It’s an AU centred around what would have happened in the Fereldan Civil War if the Blight hadn’t interrupted. It’s got action, tragedy, slow burn romance, political scheming, tests of loyalty, and an ace-spec main character determined to do the right thing.
Story You Were Nervous to Post: More than anything else, A Way To Relieve Tension is one where I posted and ran, and didn’t even really stop to edit on the way. It’s a NSFW oneshot about a first in Alistair and Rosslyn’s relationship, and while I’m proud of it in a way, I’m also still very surprised I wrote it in the first place.
How You Choose Your Titles: I don’t, really. They come to me while I write, and if they don’t, then I just stick anything in there and hope it sounds profound. I haven’t had to resort to the Hozier lyric title generator, though I might in future...
Complete: The Things We Hide, and The Best Laid Plans, a Green Rider fic from before I lost interest in the series. There are a few more from back in my old ff.net days when I wrote for Inuyasha and Torchwood/Doctor Who, but I don’t have access to that account anymore and I’m also super embarrassed by everything I wrote back then.
I have two collections that are technically complete because there aren’t specific plans for future chapters, A Life, Together which is a collection of oneshots held together in the same universe for Zutara Week, and Your Humble Narrator, where I collect
Incomplete: There’s Falcon, and Falcon’s “deleted scenes” counterpart, Feathers and Petals, but right now I’m really good at being hyperfocused dedicated to a managable number of stories at a time.
Do You Outline? Ohhhhhhh yes. I start playing about in notebooks to work out plot order and details about worldbuilding, then I create a full chapter-by-chapter plan building up from dialogue and basic scene setting. It’s really helped keep the plot on track and keep my writing energy from fizzling out because I know how far ahead I need to look for the scenes I really want to write.
Coming Soon/Not Yet Started: I have two AUs in my scopes for when Falcon is (almost) finished. The first is a retelling of Origins where Alistair is a prince raised in Castle Cousland, and Rosslyn is the only one of them who gets made a Warden. The other takes place after the game with Alistair made king by my Tabris Warden, falling in love with a non-Warden Rosslyn who spent the Blight leading the rebellion against Howe and Loghain. I keep veering between which of the two would be more fun.
Do You Accept Prompts? I have a list of prompts on my blog, and I’ll take them, but because I’m focussing so much on my WIPs, it will probably take a lot of time to answer any. And I still have to upload the last few to AO3.
Upcoming Story You Are Most Excited to Write: As I said, I’ve got two new stories coalescing out of the aether, but for now, I’m just really excited to get Falcon finished because it’ll be the biggest thing I’ve ever written, and getting to the end will be an amazing achievement for me.

Top Ten Characters Tag
Tagged by @fiireflowers, gracias!! ❤️ I’m so sorry this is so long lol! (I started this last night on the app and went on the laptop to finish it but it wouldn’t let me because apparently now you can’t edit anything that was made in the app on the laptop. Really? The staff are incompetent af.)
Rules: Name your top ten favourite characters from ten different fandoms, then tag ten different people.
1.) Lotor from Voltron: Legendary Defender
I was also going to put down Allura. And Shiro. & Keith… but then I realized that it meant only ONE favorite character from each fandom I choose. Someone tag me in another one of this so I can put down Allura lol So, Lotor.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ok I’ll stop being annoying. Pretty obvious that I really love him, he deserves happiness tbh & he deserves way better than what the writers did to him (I’ll never stop being salty about this. Sorry in advance). He also deserves better than being purposely demonized & made OOC by half of the fandom that hates him. He’s not evil nor a villain, FIGHT ME ON THAT. Also he’s just… WHEW. I love my beautiful purple space elf prince. #justiceforlotor
2.) Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender
I really wanted to put down Katara, Sokka, & Suki too. Gah. ONLY ONE GIF THIS TIME I PROMISE.
Tumblr media
I just. love this boy so much. Need I say any more?
3.) Tahno from Legend of Korra
To be fair I only watched up till season 1 or 2– I plan on finishing LOK, but I think it really says a lot that this guy who appeared onscreen for a very short time is my favorite lol…….. he had a lot of potential and that was just wasted imo akbfksjdka. What was the point of bringing him in at all as an antagonist to Korra in the probending ring & then having him be the first person to lose his bending on-screen if they weren’t going to include him at all in the rest of the show? He could’ve had a great character arc & development. Yes, I’m salty.
Anyways get a load of this arrogant asshole guy who I love.
Tumblr media
4.) Loki from the MCU & Thor
Tumblr media
Well. Wow, that sure is a nice gif of him ;) Loki is one of the most interesting characters in the MCU imo, and he also deserves a lot better than the MCU doing him dirty like this. #bringhimback
5.) Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki from Naruto
Tumblr media
 So I cheated. I love ‘em both so much. Kushina, who was a war refugee, suffered through the agony of the tragic genocide of her people, chosen to become a human sacrifice (jinchuuriki) due to her bloodline, became known as “The Red-Hot Habanero" (hello, can we get more on her?? We know so little about her and I feel that she is easily overlooked compared to other female characters), who fell in love with this blonde genius prodigy aka actually a gigantic dork who likes to give his new jutsus ridiculous long-ass names. Minato, who loved his village so much that he became a Hokage to protect it, and ultimately he sacrificed himself for the village and for his child’s sake. Kushina and Minato, who so loved their son that they died so he could live. Oh, the things that could’ve been, if it wasn’t for Obito Madara. I CRY. They didn’t deserve to die.
6.) Izumi Curtis from Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
Since half of this list is male, I’m going to list female characters for the last half. Hard, I know-- since I also love Greed/Ling Yao, Oliver Armstrong, Roy Mustang, & Riza Hawkeye... AAAA.
Tumblr media
She is an absolute BAD ASS. A tiny woman married to a gigantic buff-as-hell masculine man who is actually sweet as heck. She says she’s a housewife and she’s damn proud of it. A badass housewife who’s a master Alchemist & martial artist, who can kick ASS. I love her.
7.) Retsuko from Aggretsuko
Ok so just so yall know, Haida & Fenneko are also my other favorites. But you know.. choices, choices.
Tumblr media
She’s cute as heck and also very relatable. A people pleaser (or at least, she prefers it when everyone likes her), finds it hard to confront others, and she has an outlet (that nobody would ever suspect of her) to vent frustrations.
8.) Celty Sturlson from Durarara!!
Tumblr media
A female Dullahan (headless rider) who’s lost her head and is seeking it in Japan. By the way, her motorcycle is actually her horse. Also gotta love that cat-eared helmet.
9.) Pyrrha Arkos from RWBY
Tumblr media
My. Warrior. Queen.  I just. She’s so pure, badass, and has a big heart. A genius who chose someone who nobody would ever have paired with her to be her partner on the basis that he didn’t know who she was right away, because she wanted someone to get to know her for who she really is instead of because of her fame. I. CRY.
10.) Do Bong Soon from Strong Woman Do Bong-Soon
Tumblr media
Do Bong Soon, born with a supernatural strength that comes through the long line of women in her family. It can only be used for good, if it is used for personal gain or to mistreat others, then it will be lost forever. A tiny, unassuming girl with a heart of gold who hates being “different”, who can actually kick ass when necessary. I really do recommend this kdrama, it’s a fun watch!
Ok I tag @orchidstarss & @brideshead. Idk who else, I invite anyone to do this if yall wanna!
