i designed a sheikah outfit for josha like purah and robbie. they gifted it to her, but josha added the depths elements later because no one tells the president what to do.

i wanted to keep it in line with the modern sheikah's sense of style, with some allusions to their past ninja antics, hence the bandages and assassin's creed hood. all the better to slip out of lookout landing undetected. strict parents make sneaky kids, purah!

i think it could be really fun to write a crowmonster!philza and warrior!etoiles au for the soul purpose of writing their little "sparring" matches where instead of beating each other with sticks it's just etoiles wrestling his big ol dragon-esque monster friend. etoiles clinging onto phil's back/tail feathers as phil tries to buck him off. phil holding etoiles in his beak and shaking him around like a chew toy. etoiles hooking an arm/rope around phil's throat and phil doing this great big dramatic roaring cry as he stumbles and flops onto his back and "dies", talons in the air, twitching, also crushing etoiles in the process. everyone else looking on with bewildered concern as phil seems to be gnawing etoiles' arm off and etoiles is just lying there declaring deadpan, "ohhh no he is too strong, the monster has defeated me, he is killing me, it is so slow and painful, i am dying, ggs bro, ggs." (<-he is perfectly fine, phil is only play-mauling)

other fun points:

phil tossing etoiles around in the air like he weighs literally nothing

etoiles pinning one of phil's wing-arms behind his back like its no big deal

etoiles ripping out some of phil's feathers during one of their play fights and phil freezing mid-thrash just to shoot him the flattest, most offended look to ever come from a non-human creature

phil accidentally going too far and ripping up etoiles' shoulder and phil just becoming the biggest, most whimpery apologetic mass of feathers and spikes as etoiles pats his beak and tells him it's no problem, it doesn't even hurt that bad (and phil just wails louder)

both of them nudging/bugging/poking each other when they're bored to goad the other into a play fight, with varying degrees of success

And now I'm wondering, what would happen to Sahota if he ever could finally escape Vic? Like, he's been his captive for so long, I would imagine that suddenly being on his own and the master of his own life might be overwhelming or hard. Would Jericho or any of the other crew pull him into their family, or become a family with him if they didn't have a family to go back to? Would Sahota let them, or would he just stay alone?

he would have a pretty difficult time re-integrating on his own. Without a good support network, he'd be extremely reclusive, doing his best to continue working black ops contracts despite not having any of the contacts Vic did.

with the crew's help though, he'd at least have people who he felt had a better understanding of him, and who he'd trust enough to watch his back (and who he believes are competent enough that he wouldn't have to worry about scaring or hurting them)

Actually meeting and trying to befriend other people would be a little overwhelming at first, but with enough time and space he'd enjoy hanging out with Joy and Jericho's families

I have a bit of a knee-jerk response to the “fandom is best when the source material is full of wasted potential” takes, because personally I really like fandoms where I just get to yell about all the ways in which a thing I love is good! However, they are sure right about it being more of a challenge to write fic for something when the source material has already wrapped up its character arcs and developed its themes in a really satisfying way. You can do it! But it sure is a lot more work than when your canon is something that’s crying out to be fixed (or smashed on the floor and looted for parts, as the case may be).

This post brought to you by the realization that of the three multi-chapter fics I have in the works for my current fandom, two of them employ the strategy of “The protagonist can’t be the one to solve this problem because he is uhhhhh. Asleep. Yeah, for the whole fic. Don’t worry about it.”

alright, since the Remedy brainworms got me I've been replaying Control, got to the AWE expansion last night and picking up on all the echoes/foreshadowing for Alan Wake 2 is making me go utterly bonkers, but like. has anyone picked up on or talked about how in all of Alan's Hotline messages to Jesse, when he's writing about her POV, he exclusively calls her 'Faden'

like, maybe it didn't poke my brain the first time I played it since he does the same thing when talking about Hartman, but coming from AW2 it's pretty jarring as a stylistic oddity...almost like there's a reason (in-universe and/or out-of-universe) that he doesn't call her 'Jesse'...almost like there's only one Faden in his story...

and given how in AW2 we also get some (quasi-) clarification regarding the limits of Alan's ability to "make stuff up" vs alter and rewrite "real-world" events that he sees in clairvoyant flashes...given the Night Springs screenplay pages you can find in AWE that parallels the FBC and the events of Control (i.e. a Director and a Scientist opening a portal to another dimension, finding an eldritch Entity, the Director trying to take its power for himself and then getting taken over before shooting himself)...given how literally all of the "dreams" Dylan tells Jesse about are descriptions/viewings of stuff that takes place on one level of reality or another ("I was the director and you were an intern"; "we were in a game, and it was a fucking boring game but you couldn't stop playing it"; Mister Door, and "a world with a writer writing about a cop, and another world where the writer was real"; a "musical" about Jesse), except, seemingly, the dream about "Jesse Dylan Faden"...

guys. are you picking up what I'm putting down here. guys. GUYS
