I just noticed that in s4 Ed mocks Riddler for giving money away to the poor and asks him when did he ever cared about the Narrows, to which he responds saying that he does not and that they could all "drown in a stew of their own filth and I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep" and Ed is like "because all you care about is her."

Then in s5 he gives up leaving Gotham to fight for the city, saying he felt the same as Oswald about the "blood on concrete" thing, also saying the submarine needs two men to pilot (which was literally just some stupid excuse lmao) later, back at the library, he says he felt Nothing standing shoulder to shoulder with those people. He felt absolutely Nothing. Like? What was all that then? You were so cavalier about the destruction of Gotham but simply appeared at the GCPD to defend it moments later after Oswald told you to use your heart and not your head for once? Saying the city meant something for you but then hours later saying you felt nothing? Staying for a city you couldn't care less to fight an army like 20x bigger than yours?

Because all you care about is him.
