Alright, another post of the “my characters now have faces” series. I’ve made this and this post in the past and as always, I use only two picrews: this one for the majority of them, and this one for Señor Bravo (I’d honestly prefer to have all characters created in one picrew so the style was consistent but alas).

This post includes the characters who are quite minor, but all of them have appeared at least twice, so I think they deserve to be visualized, too. Plus, Karel and Laurens are going to be in the next chapter so you can have a clearer picture of them when they appear again.

And there’s also two bonuses :D (because I love all my characters too much, don’t judge me)

Karel Aakster

Karel has black hair, brown eyes, and light skin. All Aaksters are here having sharp facial features because I said so, and he’s not an exception as he has high cheekbones, square jaw, and a humped nose. He also has freckles because I love freckles.

He has not really long hair and a goatee or whatever this kind of beard is called. He also wears glasses.

He’s not tall, ~165 cm, and like his brother he’s a wardrobe, he’s big boned.

Ignore what he wears at all costs. He wears what he wears only because I couldn’t leave him naked. Although, maybe now it’s clear why Frida’s dad didn’t want to develop his fashion house with his brother. And green is definitely his color because Hendrik’s is red, and those colors are opposites so

Laurens de Wit

Laurens is a typical white boy.

His hair is blonde, his eyes are blue, his skin is light. Peak character design.

His face is narrow (I hope it doesn’t sound offensive or off akahdnfk; or heart-shaped, aka the lower part of the face is narrower than the upper one why do I always explain my characters’ appearances with shapes or comparisons what’s freaking wrong with me), he has a grecian nose like Frida, and overall his features are quite elegant.

I have no idea what type of body he has??? Alright, he’s relatively short for a guy (~170 cm or shorter) and he’s just a rectangle, he’s not muscular and I don’t want him to be super skinny either.

In clothes he’s fancy~

Federico Murillo

I honestly have no idea what to say about him XD

Umm hmmm. Okay, first, I’ll make a note that he’s at least 55 years older than Gabe, so in the fic he’s an elderly man (so he obviously has wrinkles and white hair, I won’t emphasize it; anyway, he has a granddaughter that’s been mentioned twice, so I hope it doesn’t come as a surprise that he’s old). He has hazel eyes, olive skin, and wears glasses.

His hair is wavy, when he was younger it was brown color. His beard is bushy. As for the face, he has soft and round features.

He’s plump, his height is ~175 cm. As for clothes, I don’t know.

Sebastián Bravo

Yes, his hair, eyebrows, and beard are three different colors ✌🏻 (okay, I can accept him having black eyebrows (because he had black hair when he was young), but his beard is grey, like his hair)

Okay, I don’t have much to say about him, this picrew is pretty good (especially when it comes to the hair), so I’ll just emphasize that he’s quite short (~170 cm) and skinny and overall always looks like he’s judging you.

Inés Rivera

Raise your hand if you remember her.

Honestly, Inés was such a big deal in the first drafts of this story, but then something went wrong XD

Anyway, looks like I’m a sucker for the thin tall (she’s ~172 cm and on heels she’s taller than Emilio >:D) women with sharp features, because she’s not the only one in my fic.

I’ll also add she prefers having her hair in a high bun and she loves floral accessories.

Bonus 1: Valerio’s parents

they both were bitches

Neither of them has appeared yet, but Valerio’s mother is painted on two portraits (so, if WBTL was a TV show, basically, we all would know how she looked already) and Valerio’s father is still a mystery, but we know quite a lot about him, so why not (and his parents are important, maybe not that much for the plot, but for my heart).

Valerio’s mother was a gorgeous woman had dark brown eyes, dark brown super straight hair, and dark skin. Her facial features were sharp, she had high cheekbones and aquiline nose (Valerio takes after her a lot).

She was tall (~173 cm) and big boned, her shoulders were relatively broad (she was a reverted triangle), so people wouldn’t call her elegant or feminine.

But! She was elegant in clothes. She dressed to the nines and had an absolutely refined taste. And since she was a jeweller, she loved jewelry items (and since she was quite prideful as well, she obviously preferred wearing the ones she made herself).

Valerio’s father (I have much less to say about him, ugh) had dark brown hair, brown eyes, and dark skin. He also had sharp facial features and generally he looked quite rough and mean akhsndjd.

He was tall (~188 cm), big, and muscular which made him look very scary too ahgsbdh and had a scar on his face (maybe somewhere else as well, he was a guard, and a very serious one after all).

As for clothes, he definitely knew his worth and his clothes were supposed to reflect it, so he was quite elegant, too.

The thing you should know about them is that they basically are the same person personality wise but they had absolutely different goals and views, just diametrically opposite, so they hated each other, but Valerio’s mother deserves more sympathy because she loved her son at least. And a lot.

Bonus 2: Animals :D

Because why not.

But to be serious, I think it’s still quite helpful for understanding how they look because I don’t describe animals’ appearances either.

I thought of making picrews for the dogs, too, but since I chose specific breeds for them, it was quite difficult and I just found the pictures from the Internet instead.

Nube

Nube is inspired by the breed dogo argentino. He’s a large white dog who might look a bit scary (he’s a hunting dog) but he loves his owners and can kill for them. Literally.

I also want to make a note that I’m aware “nube” is a feminine word in Spanish (it means “a cloud”). But I got aware of it super late, when Nube’s name and gender were mentioned way too often, and I simply didn’t want to change anything.

So, let’s pretend Ángel thought Nube was a girl when he got him, and when it turned out he was wrong, he just didn’t have the heart to change his dog’s name because he got used to it (and Nube, too) and decided to leave it as it was.

Sombra and Ceniza

Alright, I’ll put them together because I don’t have much to say about them.

Sombra is dead, but she (was mentioned in the latest chapter) was a dog in the Royal Guard school where Valerio studied, and they were really close. Sombra is inspired by the breed calupoh who are also known as Mexican wolf-dogs.

Ceniza isn’t inspired by any breed, I just googled the pic of a black dog so she looked similar to Sombra yet still was different (Sombra had pointy ears, and Ceniza has floppy ears).

Dunno, I’m not sure why my parents picked that. My mother was half Spanish, so I know she picked my middle name.

- A lot of intense music lately to keep me jazzed while writing villain! au, including Nocturn by Worakls, White Dove by Koda, and Die Young by Ke$ha.

- Um! Ah, well I haven't started posting it yet, but I do have an OC named Matías/Mat Hernandez (non-Coco related at all) who has a really intriguing story titled “Data” that I’ve been working on recently.

I’m going to be making a graphic novel chapter for his story to push my visual storytelling skills and am looking forward to introducing him to everyone in the next few weeks as I start working on “Data”. :)

Soooo since you reblogged that post about talking about your OCs... What are your OCs favourite past times/hobbies?

Thank you SO much, Blue!!

So, I’ll go with my ”Was Born To Lead” babies plus Fausto, and what comes to the Lachian ones, we can discuss it later together :3

Fausto.

Fausto is a violinist, so most of his time he dedicates to playing violin and composing his own melodies (and sharing them with his family and friends!). He’s also into sailing and exploring, so he spends lots of his time outside, looking around and learning something new. When he just wants to spend time alone, he loves the horse walks, somewhere in nature.

And also, even though Fausto is a musician, he’s not a good singer or dancer. He’s a composer and player.

Ángel.

When Ángel was very little, he didn’t really have any hobbies, maybe excluding cooking, because this is one of the things his father always loved, so it was the way for them to spend more time together. However, the older he’s getting, the more he’s like a Jack-of-all-trades, because he just wants to learn doing different things.

Anyway, his hobbies for now are cooking, fencing, crochet, and acting (he’s not an actual actor, but whenever he gets to read out loud in the classroom, he’s hooked. Plus, he loves puppet shows :3). Ángel is also a very sociable person, so he loves spending time with his friends (I’m sure Gabe and Frida are not his only ones, but at this point, I’m just too lazy to create new characters who aren’t related to Gabe :’) Although he will have a big group of friends, sharing the same passion with him, but shhh it’s a spoiler) and family (especially his father, because, really, they love each other too much) doing literally anything, even just talking, because Ángel always has a lot to tell <3

And Ángel has a dog, so a big part of his day is spent in playing and jogging with Nube :3

Frida.

Okay, I swear drawing is not Frida’s only hobby. She also loves designing, which doesn’t apply to fashion design only, but also to an interior, because Frida has a good sense of aesthetics and wants everything around her look pretty, which she does. So, crafting, drawing, painting - this all goes for her. Plus, I kinda want her to love plants, so maybe she also like floristics, but I’m not sure how to include it yet x)

Anyway, she doesn’t spend all of her time home, so visiting galleries and exhibitions is also what she enjoys <3

And also microbiology! She doesn’t do it anymore, but I think of continuing it, so I just need to think how :’)

Valerio.

He’s a history man, sooo x) Anyway, to be serious, history is actually something he enjoys in all of its aspects, maybe excluding military, because it just never was interesting to him. Sure, he’s well versed in this topic, but this is not something he wants to study deeper.

I don’t know if it even may be considered as a hobby, but studying the archival records, which allows him to know history beyond the limited school program (plus, he actually traveled a lot, which allowed him to study the foreign materials as well and, you know, it made him think, but no spoilers) is definitely something he does to spend his time. And he also enjoys visiting history museums, because for him history never was just a boring subject with the countless dates to remember, he loves artifacts and is fascinated by them <3

Also, not mentioned in the fic yet, but Valerio is a painter! He always preferred painting to drawing and loves making paintings for his friends <3 (he had much more friends when he was younger, but now the only person he’s actually friends with is Matías (sure, he still interacts with the people from the museum where he used to work, but he’s not close close with them; plus, there actually one more person Valerio knew from his young age and still interacts with, but you’ll see her later~), because he’s wary of getting too close to anyone for his personal obvious reasons)

Although he actually enjoys corporate parties in his school and never misses an opportunity to visit them, because outgoing is literally the core trait of him and he always loved people, even though he’s much more secretive now.

And he’s also a chess player! He doesn’t really have anyone to play with now, but when he was younger, nobody could escape from him rambling about it (anyway, an important thing about Valerio is that he enjoys studying theoretical material of everything he’s interested in and digging deep into it to understand how it works. He’s a huge thinker and is sure that everything has a meaning behind itself. Anyway, this is what I want him to be, maybe it’s not noticeable in the fic lmao)

When he was younger, he also loved sailing and basically everything related to the sea. Plus, Matías tried to get him into horse riding, but it turned out not to be Valerio’s thing :’) And he also had a shared passion with Leticia, his wife, which is basically the reason why he leaves Avalor City every year in January, and he still knows a lot about it, but he can’t enjoy it anymore.

Matías.

When he’s free from his work, Matías volunteers at the orphanage where he actually spends the majority of his free time. At first, he was providing medical support, since his knowledge and skills are more than more for healing humans as well. But eventually, he was visiting it more and more often, because he’s an orphan himself, although he’s not sentimental, so he’ll never admit that it was one of the reasons for his volunteering.

Anyway, when he gets some time for himself, he loves cooking and pottery, plus he was into horse riding when he was younger, because he always loved horses.

Emilio and Verónica.

Alright, I’ll combine them, because I ended up giving them too many shared hobbies x) (plus, they’re married, so forgive me)

First of all, they both are writers and they kinda complement each other. Emilio is a writer-writer. He has a very rich and figurative speech when it comes to writing and knows how to work with words, which makes it natural to him. Meanwhile, Verónica is more creative with ideas and is generally more organized and uplifting, so whenever Emilio doesn’t feel up for writing, she’s always here to encourage him :3

Verónica is more physically active, and one of her hobbies was rock climbing. She was very passionate about it, which made Emilio love it, too, and together they used to spend a lot of their time in the mountains. However, Verónica can’t do it anymore because of her illness, and they both stopped doing it eventually.

And they’re parents, so they’re always here for their boys :3

Okay, so, this is absolutely random, and nobody probably needs it, but I thought about how my OCs look like and since I’m bad at drawing, I made picrews plus little notes to clarify some things.

This is definitely not 100% how I imagine them (and to be fair, I’m actually not entirely sure how they’re supposed to look like), but it’s at least something, because I never described their appearances in my fic (I just don’t know how without going too primitive like “his hair is brown, his eyes are green”) and thought people who read it might be interested in this.

Anyway, for most of them I used this picrew and for Matías - this one, because he’s just unmakeable in another one.

Valerio Álvarez.

Generally, Valerio has a dark colour type. Super dark brown hair, super dark brown eyes, and dark complexion (he’s not black, though). He also has side bangs to cover his forehead. I’m not sure about his facial hair because it always looks strange in picrews but maybe this little beard is fine.

His facial features are sharp: he has high cheekbones and aquiline nose. He also have dimples on his cheeks, but I’m not sure if this picrew has this feature.

His height is average (~182 cm) and his body type is rectangle (he’s not muscular nor skinny, just slender and again average; he’s just a normal man with abnormal life)

When it comes to clothing, he prefers wearing black and basically anything that can cover his body from his neck to his toes. When he was younger, he loved loose shirts and could easily stroll around with like four top buttons unbuttoned. Also, he had long hair in his early twenties because I want it.

And his famous gloves, of course.

Ángel Suarez.

Ángel has dark skin, brown hair, and amber eyes. He also has freckles on his face and shoulders and a dimple in his chin.

His facial features are rather soft. He’s snub-nosed, his cheekbones are not super noticeable, and his eyebrows are thin. He also has curly hair.

Ángel is tall. When he’s an adult, his height reached ~186 cm. He’s thin but due to his fencing classes and general passion for sports (he jogs regularly and loves spending time outdoors), he’s not skinny and his shoulders, relatively to his build, are broad (all I try to say is that he’s kinda similar to Mateo but he’s more athletic (?))

I can’t say anything about his style in clothing but I can imagine him wearing suspenders and ponchos. He also likes colourful clothing with different ornaments. And generally Ángel is super stylish and cares about his appearance.

Frida Aakster.

Frida has dark brown hair, turquoise eyes, and light skin. Since the moment she lives in Avalor, she's tanned.

She has a long straight nose (close to the Grecian profile, I think), and generally her features are dominated by long thin straight lines (her cheekbones are not super noticeable, though, but I can imagine her face getting sharper when she's older)

Frida is petite. Her height is ~162 cm, and her body type is rectangle, aka without noticeable curves.

I'm really not sure what she likes to wear, but I definitely imagine her having a good sense of style and loving jewelry. Besides, even though she doesn't strive to become a professional fashion designer, she's into it and loves crafting her clothes.

This is not about appearance, but I just want to highlight the fact that Frida has quite a noticeable Maarswikan accent when she speaks Avaloran. Although it doesn't make her speech less clear, on the contrary, it makes it more charming, and Ángel and Gabe are still amazed by the fact she's 100% fluent in two languages.

Matías Gallardo.

Akjandjfk I know he looks wrong compared to others but I really couldn't give him justice with another picrew, he just looked so weird.

Anyway, Matías has brown hair, brown eyes, and dark skin (his colour type is lighter if we compare him to Valerio). His face, nose, and basically the rest of the features are wide and kinda rough. He also has lots of facial hair.

He's super tall (~188 cm), and his body type is oval. Generally, he's just a very big bear-like man.

I have NO idea what he likes to wear. Really. I'm totally lost. Although I can imagine him being quite indifferent to his appearance and preferring casual style.

Emilio Serrano.

Emilio was super hard for me, and honestly, I have no idea why I struggle so much with giving him any specific features, but okay, I came to this eventually.

Like the majority of characters, he has brown hair and eyes and dark skin. His features are thin and long, even elegant at some point. He has narrow cheekbones, sharp chin, and long nose.

Emilio is kinda short (~178 cm) and can be considered skinny. His body type is also rectangle and he has relatively narrow shoulders (basically he's kinda similar to Valerio at this point, since they both have a straight silhouette, just Emilio is thinner).

When it comes to clothes, he likes vests and prefers sticking to the official style when he's at work (and basically he doesn't mind it). He has a pocket watch with a portrait of his family inside, and Verónica has the same one, so they kinda match each other.

And he has a mustache :D

Verónica Serrano.

Verónica has brown hair, green eyes, and relatively light skin. Her facial features are kinda soft. She has an oval face with barely visible cheekbones, wide nose, and round chin.
