I was digging through old files on my desktop and found this! Its an official 8bit cover of The Sun Rises from Okami. Its from an 8bit style flash game that was on capcoms website in 2006. I have all 17 8bit tracks that have been living on my hardrive for almost 20 years. I totally forgot I had these!

Personal fave is Kamuis theme. Wish they had the celestial theme or Okis

Dude the Ōkami soundtrack is such a bop. Like Issun's theme is so bouncy and it sounds like autism(I'm autistic don't come at me) I love it sm. And OH MY GOD WAKA'S BATTLE THEME IS SO FUCKING GOOD LIKE THAT SHIT GETS ME SO HYPE WHENEVER I LISTEN TO IT OH MY FUCKING GODS. And then some of the music in the OST is so calming and relaxing that sometimes I'll put it on to help me sleep. I love the soundtrack for this game so much. It's filled with so much emotion and it sets the mood for the scenes and places so perfectly. And they use the music so perfectly too. Like the tons of The Sun Rises motifs in the game, how just the characters themes alone tell so much about them. I just AAAAAAAAGH I love this game and it's soundtrack sm.

i love rayman's first trilogy for being all over the place

r1 : cute and colorful ! music world ! art world ! cake world ! rayman is happy to be here but also gets scared in front of the bosses ! maximum baby. also most charismatic villain despite a simple design, one line of dialogue, and an absolute banger of a music he does NOT fight you on

r2 : things are Not Good. you may pass some colorful levels with lush vegetation but sewage flows through the water and a storm is never far. the stakes are high, rayman is the only hope left to fight the pirates' mechanical invasion. he's a little anxious but still very sweet. doing his best

r3 : the stakes are still high and rough for rayman but it's because he has one of the last two remaining braincells in the world while the villain has the other. you are stuck together throughout the game as the fair folks enable you to fast-travel by way of skateboarding through The Disco Dimension

I had an uncomfortable crush on Waka when I was 10 (still constantly playing the game, still unable to find all the beads until I'm 17 with my own computer) but I knew Amaterasu may have had a relationship with Waka and that you don't date your possibly real Goddess's ex boyfriend (I was open to the reality Amaterasu would talk to me some day) but ...she a wolf? She identified as a wolf at the time so I didn't mind crushing on Waka if she's like ...being a wolf? She doesn't even talk? She knows that humans talk and she's a goddess so she can perceive use of words but shes like nah this is fine.

I don't think I realized ...humans made Okami until I was in my second comic con when I got to buy the art book.
