Two Oceans Half Marathon 2017.
Head full of dreams. Today my body couldn’t quite keep up with them. I didn’t run under 90 minutes. I’m sad, but it’s not excruciating. I will get there. And ‘there’ is elusive and always just a little bit ahead, so...I will never stop continuing.
Failure is part of the territory of all the most hardcore dreaming. You risk and you risk and you risk and it’s always still worth it.
(And yup: I also don’t know why that horizon looks like it has two suns. Maybe today it did. Could always do with more sun. I think it’s beautiful.)

On 2 April 1988, the legendary Thompson Magawana broke two world records and established a course record for the Two Oceans that has yet to be equalled or bettered. In doing so, he not only improved on his 1987 winning time by 1 minute 47 seconds, but also bettered the world best times for the 30 mile and 50km distances. Thompson's record of 3:03:44 still stands.
