Mia's Art Project #2: GIF Series

Jack Stauber is a more indie artist who not only does specialize in drawing, his works are notably mixed media, for he also uses claymation, props, LOTS of editing and manipulation of graphics, and creates his own music. This goes exceptionally well with his preference of doing surrealism with some slight humor, though, he also has been known and seen to lean into dark humor and topics as well without going into outright gore. I specifically chose to focus on his Adult Swim mini film called “OPAL”, for it not only shows how he uses mixed media and his own music to draw you in, but, it also showcases how he wants to delve deeper into darker, more depressing topics. For the film, you watch a young girl named “Claire” as she goes through a house and has terrifying encounters with the residents in it, all of whom are trying to get her for doing “something” wrong. In my GIFS, I did my best to select the moments that helped convey this story, such as showing the beginning, Claire’s initial distress, and the house that she eventually ends up inside. After that, I showed each person she encountered, such as the blind old man, the narcissistic mirror man, and the alcoholic woman, and with them, a GIF that shows a bit of their songs. Finally, to end it off, I decided to go with one of the last few shots of Claire as she cowers from these people, showing her vulnerability as a child. I highly encourage that you go to watch the actual mini film itself, for it shows you the exact reason why it is called “OPAL”, and why these people are targeting a child.

Omg I drew da one group in da crossover I never got a name for them

So like I remembered Henry Elsner and then gor a little brainrotting for him and Rosemaey and then Hope and Paige came into the picture woohahahaha‼️ they're all so fun to play and mess around with, I missed doodling them tbh and need to draw them more often and get back into the ghost and pals fandom (tho I was never too big into it). Also there's a redesign for Izzie in JaS, her original design looked too much like Hisuian Zorua

If they'd meet, Bluey would befriend Claire.

I've drawn them together before, this time I'm willing to post something with just them. I tried drawing them in their original art style. I hope I got it somewhat accurate.

I never really properly imagined how their first interaction would be until I thought of doodle #1.

The next two are pretty much what happens when Bluey and Bingo show Claire a burger for the first time. They loved it when she danced with it. Afterwards Bluey tried to tell her the real purpose of a burger before someone called for her and she gets sidetracked. (Yes it's part of an episode of the multifandom story I always think about).

Hank grilling a burger and Claire smells it. He ends up showing her what burgers are for. (Spoilers?)

I recently discovered Jack Stauber's Opal and I swear if this had came out during my middle school years on the internet, it would haunt me for decades. Low-key it kinda has been haunting me since I've seen it.

I want to see more, like how do the adults interact with each other, you know if they can even acknowledge each other in their own self isolation and narcissism.
