Ahshfjg. I talk a lot about todolf but let me make this clear: canonically (Vienna), Death doesn't love Rudolf. The only person he's ever loved (depending on portrayal) is Elisabeth, and that's literally the point of the show (or of Lucheni's conceit, anyway). Máté's Tod arguably doesn't even care for Rudolf, he just wants to eat him (I think he pities baby Rudolf before the cartoon lamp of evil ideas gets lit above his head), Uwe's is more ambiguous (idk what he feels if anything ajjdfj).

AND it's actually why I love the ship so much. Rudolf literally has nobody else, the only person (...?) he can trust and turn to for comfort is going to kill him, and on some level he knows this but can't turn away. And they're going to have extremely messed up [redacted] [redacted] about it asjjdjfjfkskfgj
