I've been asked lately if I've been getting any history reading in. I'm sad to say that with my busy USPS schedule, reading has been basically nil. What I have done to supplement my historical learning is to listen to podcasts while I sort the mail for the day's delivery. I've been listening to a number of different podcasts. Two of my preferred podcasts come from @parcast One is conspiracy theories and the conspiracy theories CIA edition. I'm not a conspiracy theorist. But I like to hear the different takes and tangents on a variety of subjects. So the true crime podcast I listen to typically ends their episodes by saying “have a killer week” because it’s a podcast about serial killers

But now they’ve started ending it by saying “stay safe out there”

Of course I always thought the first ending was in poor taste but I wonder if someone finally called them out on it so they changed it

This particular podcast has always been really respectful when talking about people and make sure to let people know that they are not psychologists and they make sure to reference the person of journal they got the information from

The true story of the death (possibly murder) of MI6 staff member, Gareth Williams. We don't know exactly what he did, but Gareth came to MI6 on secondment from GCHQ and was a maths and tech wiz. The parallels with fandoms headcannon for Q is notable. As are the role of MI6 and the macho office culture in MI6.

Parcast has some of the most offensive and distasteful podcasts.

I absolutely cannot with how terrible, close minded, and just absolutely insane these podcasts are.

First of all: just because someone practices occult or likes occult or has anything to do with occult it does NOT mean they are the ones in the wrong.

Secondly: how fucking dare you just decide to do a voice reenactment of murders. It's not done tastefully and it's just unnecessary.

Thirdly: I'm so sick of parcast. They make substandard podcasts, they capitalize on adds so much, and while some are good there's so many that are repetitive. They want 10 stories about one person because it's fucking parcast and they have a billion different podcast creators.

No but like I'm so torn between wanting SWK, DBK, and PIF having history together and they used to be really close. So when they meet again in the flaming mountains their fight has some ✨ emotional drama✨ but also it's hilarious to think Sun Wukong doesn't remember the names of a fraction of the 72 demon kings he allied with so when DBK pops up being like "HAHAHAH SUN WUKONG... AFTER 5 CENTURIES...I'M HERE TO EXACT MY VENGEANCE!!" Wukong is just like "Oh heeeyy--who are you again?" 💀

I recently posted that I listen to podcasts while I sort the daily mail that I deliver at the USPS. Con Artists by @parcast is one that I find fascinating.

I've learned about the woman who claimed to be part of the Romanoff Royal family, the man who invented the Ponzi Scheme, the Wolf of Wall Street and the Monster of Wall Street among other infamous con artists.

Unfortunately I'm going to have to find another podcast to listen to. As of 2020 the people behind this podcast announced that they are not producing.
