the little corner of fanfic writers i've found myself is so funny because to an outsider who thinks in terms of fic "popularity" or some other bullshit measure of accomplishment, it just makes no sense. It's like ah yes, these are my dear friends who have some of the most popular fics out there, even if just in niche circles, but I'm just a little guy! We all write such different stuff with varying popularity but we all inspire each other and we're having fun and it's delightful. So who cares.
