There's something so ironic or hypocritical... whatever you wanna call it how Lucas claims that Peyton made their breakup about her and what she wanted but then claims she broke up with him because she thought he couldn't make it as a writer. Says she makes it all about her and then proceeds to make it all about him. It's especially crazy because we saw their relationship. Peyton was nothing but supportive of him and his dreams so he made it about him for no reason! We also saw that proposal. Peyton didn't want to rush into marriage but she clearly loved him and wanted to be with him. Lucas gave up on them (because he can't cheat on another girl if he stays with Peyton... let's be real lol)

Lucas: You gave up on me! That's why you didn't say yes, you didn't think I could do it! You didn't think I could get my novel published, maybe you just didn't care, because it wasn't about you, or what you wanted.

Peyton: Well, if that's the truth, if I never cared, (picking up a copy of Lucas' novel), then how come every time I see this stupid book I buy it, every stupid damn time Luke. You said I was great! You said I could be great! You said we were destined to be together, you said it to the world, you said it to me and I wish you never had because you did not mean any of it!!!

In general, I feel like Peyton gets too much blame for Lucas' cheating. When Lucas cheated on Brooke, everyone attacks Peyton but I don't see nearly as many people having lasting hatred towards Lucas for it. And then same when he cheated on Lindsay. Lucas is making these decisions. He could just fucking be with Peyton but he finds any excuse to shield his heart or push her away and then wastes a bunch of other women's time!

What I find most amusing- is that some people on Reddit can interpret the symbols in everything except for the Syd/Carmy/Claire love saga. It's a classic C.W. love triangle plot.

They spotted and took screenshots of the symbolism in Richie and the Forks episode and all the symbolism in Fishes. These redditors are not oblivious, which is the ultimate giveaway that they know SydCarmy is taking place. They just don't want it to happen for obvious reasons.

The most obvious symbolism was Sydney's tattoo. The writers for that episode made it clear for everyone to see. I have noticed that some people on the platform are still curious about the tattoo reveal, but it's only a handful of them who realize that something is happening.

On that note- I just want to express my appreciation for the symbolism of the tattoo. It's not the physical act that makes it an affair. It's the fact that Carmy is cooking and creating something special for another woman that makes it heart-wrenching. Because Carmy had once made the best meal Sydney's ever had, and even though he may have ultimately chosen Claire, his actions still amount to betrayal.

Although he chose Claire, he cheats on her with Sydney in the next episode and slowly (ever so slowly) Carmy realizes he chose the wrong person.

Sam: And how many successful relationships have you had?

Jordan: I don't necessarily recommend it.

Jordan: I suppose I have nothing better to do after those 13 hour shifts.

Sam: I'm so glad I dropped out of med school.

15. Lucas: No, I had to do it because Michael thought it was "rude".

Michael: It was.

Lucas: If I pay for something, I want what I paid for. That's not rude. If I fuck someone's tattoo up I'd fix it.

Michael: You can't compare a meal to something that's permanently on someone's body.

Lucas: You agree with me.

Peyton: Oh, yeah.

Lucas: Exactly!

16. Peyton: Hey, Sam. How are you doing? Sleeping better?

Sam: A little.

Peyton: So... while you're here... Aiden.

Sam: Yes?

17. Peyton: He's acting... suspiciously normal, isn't he?

Lucas: Right? I literally told Michael the same thing ten minutes ago. This is the way Aiden always acts after medical emergencies, he just pretends everything's fine.

18. Sam: It's been a month. Things have gone back to normal, he's not pretending.

Lucas: No, sorry, no offense, Sam, but I don't think you get it. You weren't there all the other times he had to go to the hospital because of drugs--and that shouldn't be plural, by the way--this happens every time.

19. Lucas: He says he's fine and that he's clean now and then he just waits until people stop asking him about it and we're back at square one.

Sam: This was different though.

Lucas: Just because it was worse and because he maybe went through a tiny little bit of withdrawal while unconscious doesn't mean he's magically better.

Michael: Lucas, please.

20. Michael: You yourself said that there's nothing we can do.

Lucas: Well, we can't exactly force him to do anything but there's a difference between overcaring and pushing him away, and being so passive it turns into enabling.

Michael: I agree, but I don't think that has anything to do with Sam.

Lucas: I didn't say it does.

21. Lucas: I just don't want him dead, that's all.

Peyton: I seriously doubt any of us want him dead.

Lucas: Exactly. So we can't just trust that he's better because he says he is.

Sam: That's not what--[Sigh] I don't think it's fair to talk about this behind his back.

22. Lucas: I'd love to discuss this with him directly but he makes it pretty difficult. There's a reason he didn't want to talk to us for a fucking month.

Sam: Maybe it wasn't deliberate. Maybe he was just recovering from a coma.

Lucas: But he was talking to literally everyone else during that time, wasn't he? It's not a coincidence he ignored me, Michael, and Peyton specifically.

23. Sam: I... I don't know his motivation. And either way I don't want to be involved in this.

Peyton: That's fair. I didn't really mean for this to be a whole discussion.

Lucas: Sorry. Look, my point is just... if he's clean, that's fucking great. But I kind of doubt it. Just... keep an eye on him.
