In the wild, an Armarouge will stick with their Charcadet all the way until they evolve. Naturally, this is about 15 years. They have to cobble together armor, train, and just learn how to be an Armarouge. This leads to strong bonds between the parent and child Pokémon, and the Charcadet will usually evolve into an Armarouge because of that strong bond. You might even see Armarouge grandparents with their child and grandchild, the familial bonds are that strong.

Ceruledge teach their Charcadets enough to survive, and just kinda leave. Naturally, this lack of a familial bonds effects the Charcadet. If they're adopted in some capacity, usually they'll stray away from becoming a Ceruledge. If not, then they'll usually end up as the very things that abandoned them, full of bitterness and anger. They'll abandon their Charcadet and simply wander off until they die.

Nowadays, in more domestic environments, Ceruledge try a little harder to take care of their Charcadets for longer. Unlike Armarouge, who've been parented and know how to parent, Ceruledge generally have no clue what they're doing. If you can, try to set an example for them. Charcadets are shockingly like human children, just with fire. If you can set an example with you and a human child, your Ceruledge can usually pick up on that. Same thing with an Armarouge and their Charcadet, Ceruledge can pick up on that too. They need all the help they can get with this parenting stuff.

Anyways, some additional information about Charcadets, parenting, and evolution:

This is a generalization. A widely observed, well documented generalization, but a generalization nonetheless.

An orphaned Charcadet that was raised by an Armarouge has a 50/50 chance of going either way.

A Charcadet, if loved and taken care of, will generally evolve into a Armarouge. Some of them just think Ceruledge look cool, though, and may evolve into well-adjusted Ceruledge instead of Armarouge.

A Charcadet that is adopted by a Pokémon that is not one of it's evolutions will usually end up as an Armarouge, unless it is adopted by a Dark- or Ghost- type. Then, it'll typically turn out as a well-adjusted Ceruledge.

A Charcadet given to a goth will end up as a well-adjusted Ceruledge.

A Charcadet that is only taken care of, but not loved, will usually turn out to be a Ceruledge, and not a well-adjusted one.

Charcadets typically evolve at around 15 years, and when evolved, they can make it until 70-75 on average. They're freakishly human in several regards, including that one. Just know that in case you do decide to adopt a Charcadet.

For the most part, an Armarouge will adopt an orphaned Charcadet, no questions asked.

If that all made sense, great, now I have to figure out how to simplify this for a 10-year-old. Lancelot has decided she's going to type up as much information of this lines cultural impade as possible, so get ready for a second smack in the face of Charcadet facts.

i wouldn't call them endangered per se ?? that varies from pokémon to pokémon. traditional "starters" are really highly domesticated and rarely get released so you don't really find them in the wild anymore. we kind of hand-selected them to be bred for ease of care and loyalty and such.

also. if you want an oddish or a fletchling you should just go outside for once and you'll find one. LMAO

Klawf is an ambush predator. You'd think that the horrible land crustacean wouldn't be good at that, but then when it's actually in the environment it should be in, you will immediately lose them.

My hottest take is that YES!!! Sometimes the stereotypes about a Pokémon being aggressive, unfriendly and potentially dangerous are true!

The goal isn't to turn every damn Pokémon in a lap skitty, it's to build a respectful relationship. Some Pokémon have hard wired defenses and behaviors you can't "love" away.

Getting a Pokémon with known behavioral issues thinking that somehow YOU'RE going be different, that people are just being mean and unfair, is the reason why the fear mongering is so bad in the first place. These Pokémon end up abused and abandoned, word spreading about how terrible they were.

They weren't being terrible, you were just stomping all over their boundaries and sensitivities, you're the one who didn't do proper care and research into their needs and tried treating them like a common household pet.

It's not about your satisfaction about how "good" of a trainer/owner you are for having a "misunderstood" Pokémon, it's about the health and safety of that Pokémon.

Character relations/opinions!

Alright before I post any more Battle Addict stuff I should probably explain what a League Council is. Here's a summarized diagram:

A Pokemon League is a region's network of specialized skilled trainers. It is run by the League Council, which includes finance, HR, marketing, PR, and other managing departments which are divided into different branches depending on who they work with.

This is all to say that everything gets messy very quickly when news of the diagnosis spreads through the network. Originally the diagnosis was supposed to be private information for only the Battle and League departments, however certain higher ups felt it was a safety risk and notified gym leaders as well in the event of future collaborations.

The network is mostly divided into people who are positive/neutral about the news, and people who feel negatively about the twins as a result. Coworkers who were already familiar/close with the two tend to be positive, or at least supportive, whereas those who didn't know them got another reason to avoid them. Some people think they should go on leave for "recovery", but some are more forward and want them terminated.

If you're wondering where Cynthia falls in this, she's a foreign top league worker (Sinnoh Champion) who is hosted in Unova. Basically she has dept. employees assigned to help her connect to people around the region and get different services if requested. She's basically watching everything unfold from the sidelines, with every interview about her opinion boiling down to "lol if you're scared of people stronger than you then get good". She does also bring up historic accounts of CM/HCCM though, mostly to clarify that CM is not a new or scary thing. She's not for or against the twins, rather just hoping to use this as an opportunity to teach others.

I didn't end up drawing her because I got tired but Elesa got the news too!! She actually got it before everyone else since the twins decided to go tell her beforehand. The general scene basically had Ingo and Emmet deliberating in the car, Ingo telling Emmet it's not too late to turn around and go home while Emmet was hesitant but adamant that they needed to tell her first. She probably took it the worst out of everyone but that's mostly just cause it caught her off guard that her friends would just randomly drop in to deliver the news. She's still rooting for them though, mostly trying to support the Subway with more collaborative events to make the twins look better after the hit from the media. She also tries to rework Emmet's restraints where possible, usually trying to make them look more cohesive with the rest of an outfit or trying to make them less visible (cause as much as Emmet says it's not a big deal it's still the first thing he looks at in his reflection).
