I'm back again! This time fr bcs i was on a good 10 day break, celebrated eid and now i hope to get back to studying consistently bcs i really need a good grade.

I learnt about some study methods in psych today so i'm gonna try them to see what works for me. I think the PQRST method sounds interesting. If ya'll use it lmk if it works for you.

Sebastian’s heartbeat at the end of The Evil Within. Since I’m evaluating realism of fictional vitals monitors…

It’s obviously the same copypasted waveform for each pulse, which I get is just the simplest and easiest thing to animate, but:

Each individual pulse is actually really good. It’s got the correct PQRST features plus a reasonable amount of noise;

The squares might be a bit off. It could just be some non-standard scale, but if it’s 0.2 s x 0.5 mV per 5x5 square, the actual numbers for his heart rate (59-61 bpm) don’t line up with the grid saying more like 100 bpm;

60 bpm actually fits my headcanon that it matches the save room clock while he’s in STEM, but it doesn’t match the monitor beeping at all (from any point in the game);

I have no clue how they’re actually getting this trace since he definitely doesn’t have electrodes on his chest, but hey it’s some sci-fi horror brain link machine, so 🤷‍♀️

This is actually an impressive amount of detail for something visible on screen for 5 seconds. I’m gonna give it a 👍

i started feeling pain after working on a nail set. i have not taken anything or done anything to try to relieve the pain. the pain is sharp. i am feeling the pain between my ring finger and pinky on my right hand and it is radiating up my arm from my hand. on a scale from 0-10 (0 being no pain at all and 10 being the worst pain imaginable) i would rate the pain at a 2 or 3. it occasionally occurs when i paint nail designs for too long or when im making jewelry for too long and it lasts for less than an hour

Ruth Roellig (1878-1969)

Ruth Roellig was an incredibly important figure in the Weimar Berlin lesbian scene. She was born in 1878 and moved to Berlin in 1911/2.1 In 1927, she began writing for the lesbian magazines Die Freundin and Garçonne.2 She also wrote a guidebook to Berlin’s lesbian bar scene which featured a preface by Magnus Hirschfeld.3 After the Nazis’ rise to power in 1933, Ruth joined the Reich Literature Association.4 Despite this membership and the antisemitic tropes she employed in her writing at this time, Ruth was known to have sheltered Jewish friends from persecution.5 She survived the war and lived with her partner and sister until 1961, when she passed away.6

The evaluation of the first aid signs and symptoms is crucial, particularly in respiratory emergencies, although it is objective. Therefore, the rescuer can use "PASTE" to acquire pertinent data regarding the patient's health. This is an alternative mnemonic for assessing a patient who is having respiratory problems. PASTE is short for:

• Provoke: Determine whether any outside influences, such as movement, are improving or deteriorating the issue.

• Associated Chest Pain: This will elicit details regarding the first aid patient's chest-related pain.

• Color of sputum produced: Does the patient cough up any sputum? Sputum that resembles mucus may be an indicator of an infection or another respiratory issue.

• Talking and fatigue: Does the patient talk to you? Does he or she seem worn out? Start CPR right away if the patient is not speaking or reacting to your voice.

• Exacerbation: Determine whether the patient's condition is getting worse over time.

And as you go, do your patients have DOTS for their monitors?

When performing a physical evaluation of a casualty (i.e., searching for injuries), it's helpful to use the acronym DOTS to help you first aid remember what to look for. DOTS is short for: Deformities. open sores. Tenderness.

And don't forget RICE RICE, which stands for Rest, Ice, Compression, and Elevation. This abbreviation has undergone numerous changes over the last ten years and has many different forms.

The "Modified Recovery Position" (also known as "HAINES") is defined as High Arm IN Endangered Spine.

As is common knowledge, there are numerous factors to consider before deciding to place a victim in a position of recovery. As a general rule, a victim should not be moved, especially if you suspect that the victim may have a spinal injury based on the victim's position or the severity of the injury. However, if a real-world circumstance requires you to act in a way that puts your or the victim's life in danger, you should place the victim in a modified High Arm IN Endangered Spine (HAINES) recovery position.

1: The injured person's arm needs to be fully elevated by "rotating it outward" until it is next to their head. By making sure the palm is facing upward, this is automatically accomplished.

2: The upper body of the casualty should be crossed across the chest with the fingers pointed to the opposing shoulder.

3. Bend the knee of the casualty's nearest lower leg.

4: The hand of the rescuer is then positioned under the hollow of the victim's neck and head to offer stabilization.

The rescuer delicately rolls the victim away in step 5 while simultaneously pressing on the victim's nearest shoulder with the stabilizing hand of the first responder and the victim's flexed knee to prevent large victims from rolling into the prone position.

6: Place the casualty's upper arm's hand "Palm down," positioning the fingers beneath the underarm's armpit while continuing to support the head and neck. Make sure the forearm is flat on the ground and at a 90-degree angle to the body as soon as the hand from the upper arm is inserted into the armpit. Check the airway and, if necessary, clear it with the victim lying on their side with the face slightly tilted down to allow drainage from the mouth.
