one of my friends didn't like the story i wrote and with the kind of stuff i write i need to get used to it but i wasnt expecting it and so it kind of hurt and kind of has been hurting for the last month

Me out here like, oh boy I am chewing on the bars of my enclosure threatening to go crazy. Maybe I will typeset some fic and do some bookbinding tonight because creating things with my hands always makes me feel like I'm doing a total body reset on my mood. #i get NO REST-- #this fic is very interesting to typeset bc it is both mixed media AND is split into chapters which i have never done before #so i am enjoying the puzzle of how to make chapters flow on printed pages naturally when it is half media half regular story #the fic is paced seasonally - it goes month by month and it's very short but the format is such a neat challenge #i'm simply on the floor. when i did the train fic i had so many styles for each kind of media type. i THOUGHT i saved them all but i. didnt #and to be fair i have now done a total body reset on my mood just instead frustrated with doctors i am mindlessly furious at word #but! i found a decorative font that is just octopi! and since the fic features the seattle kraken well we're really gonna be rollin #as soon as i get off the floor lol #(and i hear you say but kasper didn't you swear off microsoft word for typesetting??? and i say yes and mama raised a damn stubborn fool) #birdbindin' #fresno oilers.txt #i'm being very vague bc it's not my fic and i am giftung it to the author but it's. very obvious what fic this is and who wrote it lol

A while back I saw sm1 saying tsukasa expresses emotions like it’s his first time experiencing them & while it’s very funny and true I think it’s also worth noting that unlike tv/movie actors, stage actors have to really exaggerate their body language/expressions so that their emotions are readable for everyone in the theatre. On screen you can easily pick up the micro expressions on an actor’s face because you’re like 5 ft away at most and the camera often zooms in on their face. From the back of the theatre you can’t read subtle expressions so the actors need to over emphasize and use their whole body. All this to say: given that u cannot take the theatre kid out of tsukasa I feel like his acting just bled into how he expresses his emotions.

Emu also does the body language thing but it’s harder to tell as she’s normally expressing a smaller range of emotions than tsukasa (she’s naturally joyous and whimsical creature & tsukasa is usually given ample reasons to express annoyance). I think that’s more of a result of her exaggerating her happiness so that other people are also happy rather than an acting thing though. Gestures at her refusing to show negative emotions. Entertainer/clown (actual clowns, not the insult) vs stage actor. Really good examples of them doing this is the clip of rui imitating tsukasa & the clip of nene imitating emu.

WIP Wednesday

Thanks for the tag @scribbledquillz! I am still easing back in to writing after my burnout/hiatus, but here is what I've been working over the past few weeks instead c:

The next step on the Fenris scarf is to draw all the tattoos onto the black section with silver Sharpie and then embroider over them. The bottom image is my test piece to make sure this kind of embroidery is something I can do (ignore the variety of stitch types; I wanted to pick one that showed up pretty well and didn't look too messy if I had to turn the work a lot; the one around the border is what it will all look like when done). I found a really really cool yarn to do the embroidered sections with and I'm excited to share that piece when it's all done (but expect it to be a few weeks, because embroidery will take a lot longer than crocheting this did).

I'm pretty happy with it so far! I like the way the favor section turned out and I learned a new stitch for the gauntlet/shoulder bits, which also came out pretty cool. I will take proper, pretty pictures when it's all finished, just like I did with the Cullen scarf, but I didn't have access to the dress form today for this set (so you can enjoy a little section of my library and the pretty table my husband made instead haha).
