Damian summons a sparring partner.

He got grounded for excessive use of force, and decided that if Father and Grayson wouldn't spar with him, then he'd just summon a creature to do it for them.

What he got, after following the instructions on a heavily researched being of great destruction, was a floating dead hero built like a brick shithouse.

The Ghost had seemed shocked, before listening to Damian's plight and laughing nonstop for seven minutes.

Then he'd agreed to spar with Damian, on the grounds that "it'll be funny".

Or; Dan was told to do community service, and his summoning sigil was posted on the internet to those who would "need" it, at Clockwork's discretion. He got summoned by a tiny kid claiming to be Robin. A kid who wants to "spar". Sure. Dan'll teach him how to really fight, fuck whatever bullshit that no-killing pussy was trying to teach him. When he's done with the kid, the brat'll be able to take down a Super.

It was in the season when summer was at its peak, and the sky and the sea were dyed deeply in its shade. He could close his eyes again if he wished; deny himself of all the beauty he was witnessing. It was easy, after all—hating the things he was used to hating. But the irony was there. He looked at you, surrounded by everything he had hated all his life, and thought it was beautiful.

It was in the roses in your arms–a testament to his hidden feelings. ‘An impossible, unattainable love, much like these flowers’, he said this to you in his usual whimsy. A jab thrown at its “mysterious sender”. He called himself a coward in your presence. Why couldn’t he say it in your face? Someone like this doesn't deserve you. Your anger pierced through his soul and made his heart skip a beat.

“How could you say that when he cut all of the thorns for me and cleaned up the stems so prettily? So what if he couldn’t say it to my face? I might not know who he is, but I know that he loves me.” And you were right. The love that he had for you was already drowning him, but at that moment, he felt himself sinking deeper.

It was in his eyes when you caught him in a lie and pretended not to know anything. The way you spoke about him as if he was someone else, “attacking” him with endless compliments and words of love. Words that couldn’t seem to get through him no matter how loudly they were spoken. Even if you screamed, he could only hear your silence.

It was on days when his feelings reflected it as well—shades deeper than usual as he caught himself in nostalgia. As time passed and his youthfulness remained, he found himself counting the wrinkles on your face in a mixture of affection and worry.

It was the colour of your shirt that day. On a particularly sombre night where a few glasses of wine were downed to temper the lingering hollowness in his chest, he cried in your arms and begged you to stay. You couldn’t be going anywhere, not yet at least. He knew that. It was ridiculous–surely, you thought that too. This wasn’t the first time he had been this fragile —yet there was something almost calculating about it. Even at his most vulnerable, he couldn’t seem to say the words he wanted to tell you out loud.

It was the paint that chipped away at the walls of your old apartment. The usual smile on his face hid his many worries. He told you of the spells he had at the ready—some magical tools he had bought specifically to help you in your move. He could have deceived you when you knew him far less–through the smoke and mirror rumours that he didn’t care enough to dismiss. But this was the same man who moved mountains for you and risked his life just to make sure you were safe, even at the cost of his own. You couldn’t be fooled.

“Do you know where I’ll be going?”

His lips trembled slightly at the question, his facade slipping away.

“Lamentation…right?” You shook your head.��

“In the past?” You shook your head again.

It was in his eyes again—shining like the starry sky. He was too taken aback to speak from his heart, so you pulled out the words from his lips as you leaned closer to him.

“Guess where?” You laced your fingers with his and kissed the back of his hand; his face becoming a lovely shade of red in shock.

“Wherever you’re going, of course. Forever.”

…along with the word he had been struggling to tell you for ages.

“Forever?”

A word you were determined to say to him until he finally believes in it.

“Forever.”

Chapter One

Monday, September 14. The day of our choir competition. I’m in a choir. Chamber choir technically, but whatever. I’m in a chamber choir with six other students. Ricky, Mischa, Noel, Ocean, Constance, and this one other girl. I can’t really remember her name. I’m not that good with names to be honest. I remember her brother’s name is Ezra, the same as mine. He goes to our choir meetings sometimes. He’s pretty cool. He has puppets he brings to the meetings. Ocean finds him disturbing, so that’s pretty funny. I got on my uniform. It was the female uniform. I wasn’t really that out about being trans. Basically only the choir and a few other friends knew. Couldn’t really come out to be honest. Very homophobic transphobic town. Everyone else outside of my friends and the choir just saw me as a shirt haired girl named Ada. After getting ready and everything, I left to walk to school. It was a really small town, so it wasn’t that far of a walk. The feeling of the skirt of my uniform rubbing against my leg was an uncomfortable feeling. I didn’t like it at all. I eventually got to school. All I had to do now was just wait till the end of the day. Seven hours. Then the choir competition. I’m not that excited about it, but it’s not that bad. Seven hours. That’s all.

Jensen's JIB13 Saturday Panel

We're gonna jump right into questions...

How was his experience visiting Brazil for the first time? And, would he go back?

He says that he had always wanted to go to Brazil, it's been high on his list of places to visit, and he used to work with somebody on SPN called Gabe Correa who was part of the assistant director team who is from São Paulo. So this is a place he has always wanted to visit and all of a sudden he got the opportunity to do so, and he gets off the plane and he's super excited, and they have this big security detail and they go to this beautiful hotel that's like a compound- and then they never left.

They stayed in the hotel for his entire stay. It's not that they weren't allowed to leave but they had so much work to do that they didn't get a chance to really go out at all and they were told that if they wanted to go out there were a lot of preparations that needed to be made so he never left the hotel. Which means he didn't get to see any of the things he thought he would, or meet the locals, or experience what he knows Brazil has to offer which he's sure is amazing so even though he's been there in his mind he hasn't but he wants to go back because he wants to experience it. He hopes that's something he gets to do. x

In the past he has said that in the early days of SPN for emotional scenes he would think of something that made him sad but as time went on and Dean became him and he became Dean he found it easier, so for the emotional scenes of Beau Arlen, and Soldier Boy did he go back to basics or did he find it easier now that he's more experienced?

He didn't have that kind of history with those characters as he did with Dean so he did have to kind of dig into personal feelings. He doesn't remember any emotional Soldier Boy scenes but the fan reminds him of one, which is Soldier Boy talking to Butcher about his father. And Jensen says that as an actor his long term memory has been shoved aside a little bit for the short term memory of memorizing lines. So, there's an intensity in the short memory he has and bringing it to life, and once he does that he just kinds of purges it and lets it go, and he doesn't know why he does that, he's sure there's a psychologist that could tell him but it's just something he does.

Going back to the original question, when it comes to Beau it stems from basically what would he do as a father in that situation and then how can he relate that to this character so he takes what he thinks he knows and how he thinks he would react and he puts it into this characters hands, and kind of just tailers it a little bit, and that's what you see. Even with Dean, the vast majority of Dean is him, he just tailored it to tell a story through this characters eyes. But he wasn't trained professionally, he didn't go to school for this, he didn't learn methods or how to separate himself from the character, he basically finds what relates to him as a person within the story, within the character, he extrapulates on that and then applies it to the character. Same thing with Soldier Boy, in fact that scene the fan had brought up, he thought a little bit about because he has a good relationship with his dad so he had to dive a little bit into Dean and John's relationship cause even though Dean loves his father and idolized him for many, many years it was a strained relationship.

And at the end of the day he just pretended cause that's essentially what acting is you try to find the most honest emotion you can muster up inside yourself, you try to identify that and you try to portray that within this character in order to tell the story and some people can do it and some people can't; it's like how some people can do math amazingly, or sing, or paint- he can't paint, he can't draw worth a lick but there's some people that can just see it. He compares it to the scene in the movie Good Will Hunting where the main character, Will explains how doing math to him is like how Beethoveen could just see the piano and play, now Jensen's not saying he's the Beethoven of acting but he can play. And so he tries to play as much as he possibly can, and that's using what he has in his life and what he thinks is the right emotion and just expand on that.

The fan says Ben (Soldier Boy) is just a little lost boy searching for his father's approval which Jensen agrees with and says that's why he thought it was such a fantastic plot twist when Soldier Boy is given the opportunity to have a son and a grandson and change that but then he reverts into his DNA and turns into what he always hated, what his father was, and that's just really great writing but it's also really fun to take that character on a journey. And it's pretending, it's painting with a paintbrush that he knows how to paint with. x

Is there a tv show he would like to be in? As an example the fan says they would love to see him in Hot Ones.

He replies that he has said for several years now, even before the show got big back when it was just a youtube show that nobody had heard of and they were having random people on it, he and Jared have wanted to go on that show. And they, actually, both got invited to be on it but they couldn't work out their production and now the show is so popular that major A list movie stars are doing it so he doesn't think they're gonna have them on. But he will say that Sean, the host of the show, is an SPN fan. JDM did an episode during covid so they did it via Zoom and Jensen was talking to Jeffrey about it, and telling him how jealous he was that he got to be on the show and how badly he wanted to do it and Jeffrey told him that Sean loves SPN he would totally have them on, and Jensen was like 'really?!'.

Then he started watching the show and saw that Charlize Theron is now doing it, and now there's too many big names. The fan mentions Pedro Pascal has done it, and Jensen replies enough with Pedro Pascal, he's too awesome and he wants to be him 😂

He asks the fans if they have watched The Last of Us, and comments that project sort of floated around Hollywood a couple of years ago and he was like who do I have to kill to get this role? The fan says Pedro Pascal, and Jensen continues jokingly saying that then it became very clear that his name was Pedro Pascal but because he is a law abiding citizen he did not kill him and instead watched The Last of Us on his iPad with hate in his eyes. Then he says "God bless you Pedro. You're killing it. Good for you." ❤️

He comments that that's the thing too in this industry, is he jealous? Yeah. Envious? Sure. But he's also really happy for him, like good for him he's killing it right now, that's so great, and he thinks that's a really cool thing about this industry. He thinks the people that really get it, they aren't upset that they're not getting a role they're happy for the person that gets to succeed because there's always gonna be different stories, there's always gonna be other roles. And, you know, would he have loved to play that role? Yeah, but he would have done it much differently and it wouldn't have been what it turned out to be and he thinks it turned out to be really great, and he'll just keep his eyes out for the next one. x

What can he tell us about the rumors going around online that he's on the top 3 list to play Batman? He doesn't know, and even if he did he wouldn't tell us. Could he do the role? Sure. Would he want to? Yes. Would he be mad if Pedro Pascal gets it? Yeah. Then says, "God bless you Pedro, you just keep killing it buddy, let me know when you pass on something." 🤣

He continues by saying, look, right now nobody is talking about anything, there's a strike going on in the industry and until that gets solved nobody is having conversations about anything. People are having conversations in house but those aren't conversations that are necessarily being talked about outside. So would he entertain the idea of playing his favorite superhero of all time? Jokingly, he says that nah, he's good it seems like a lot of work and he'd have to put on a suit and be a superhero- but no seriously, he'd love it, sign him up. x

How long did it take to shoot the scene with the pigeon in Dog Dean Afternoon without laughing?

Not long at all because just about every scene they did was ridiculous like that but he will say that there were many scenes surrounding the Impala that it got to the point where he had become Dean in the protection of the car so much so that the person responsible for the car when the camera's weren't rolling would get in it and drive away and he'd be like 'take it easy on the clutch!' and he got so protective of the car that's when he knew he had to own it. So doing any scene that had them running and jumping in the car and Jared banging his boots against the door and hitting his head and just being Jared, and at this point we are getting so off track cause he says that Jared would also just sit there and fart and in his mind it wasn't budging, it wasn't Jared making his environment uncomfortable, it was him doing that on the seat which just made Jensen angry and this man straight up says to just lift up or aim it his way he'll get out, just not on the seat, she's been through enough she's so old she's beautiful but she's been through enough let's not flatulate on her. I watched this part 3x and I still don't know how we got here, what is it about JIB that makes this man say the wildest shit about Jared's farts 💀

What's the major difference between working on a soap opera set and working on a series like SPN and the Boys?

It is outrageously diferent. The first major show he did in Hollywood was a show called Mr.Rhodes that was a half hour live audience sitcom like Friends, Seinfield, Big Bang Theory, it's several cameras lined up and an audience of 200 to 300 people in front of you and you perform your scenes. That was his first job and to date the best schedule Hollywood has to offer, the next in his opinion would be daytime soap operas. Soap operas have 30 some actors, and they have multiple storylines and each episode spends about 12 to 20 pages of script per storyline. So, if there are A B C D storylines, if he's in the B story that has 18pgs of script and they shoot all of those 18pgs consecutively on that day, it can take an hour maybe two to shoot 18pgs on a soap opera because they're shooting an entire hour episode a day. They're shooting 65 to 70pgs a day, so he would go in and do 12pgs of dialogue and be at breakfast- so the camera start rolling at 9am every morning and they take 5mins at the top of every hour, everyone walks off set takes a 5mins break do whatever they want or need to, and then they come back keep working, go to lunch come back keep working and be done by 6 or 7 pm. And you shoot 60 or 70pgs of script. SPN was about 40 to 50pgs and it took them 8 days to shoot. So, right there it's just a whole different animal.

The fan asks if it's easier if it's in a week, he says this is why he thinks daytime actors and daytime programming in general don't get enough credit. Because they're jamming in an entire hour long script in a day what most peple take 8 to 10. The Boys take 15 days for one episode so more than a month cause it's not counting weekends it's around three weeks to shoot one episode. And soaps shoot all that in one day.

He remembers one time he did 24pgs of dialogue in a day, and he did that in 5hrs so that trained him, how to be, how to memorize, how to perform, how to hit his mark and he's told the story before about showing up on set being the new kid and Deidre Hall telling him to hit his mark, know his lines and stay out of her light and that's exactly what he did and he earned her respect which he says is one of the best things he could have done because she took care of him big time, and he has more stories about that but he will say that experience gave him a platform, gave him a foundation to do everything he has done since.

He also shares that he had just heard from Allison Sweeny, who played his twin sister on the show, on Friday, and tells the story about how when he was new on the show- she had already been on it for some time before he had gotten hired - they went to Minneapolis or someplace to do an autograph signing at a mall. During this time, cause apparently her character has changed, she played the evil twin and at the signing fans started heckling her and saying bad things to her, and Jensen didn't know the protocol so he jumped to her defense and told them to shut up and he apologized to her, and she told him that if they hate her she's doing her job. And it was right then that he knew how to play it that way, she thought him that, and he learned a lot from everybody on that show.

Also, before the question was asked, when the fan told him they knew him from Days of Our Lives, he mentioned that Greg Vaughan, who plays the current Eric Brady, is an old friend of his and called him up when he was offered the role to see if it would be okay with him cause he felt it would feel weird to take the role without talking to Jensen about it first. x
