I was curious if this was accurate, so I looked into it... it's not.

Now, their bread would have looked different from European bread, so in this time period they might not recognize what it was (like the character in this anime didn't). But they certainly had bread of their own.

As a matter of fact, they did brew alcohol too, but as far as I can tell, this was not publicly available knowledge till the 2000's at least, so the anime can't be faulted for not knowing about it. But I certainly do fault the creators for not fact-checking the claim (presumably from the novel this is based on) that the aboriginal peoples didn't know how to make bread.

13. do you take pride in your writing, or does it embarrass you? why? in general, i'm proud of it!! mashblr and mash-fic-blr in particular is the reason i have like friends on here in the first place, and it's populated with so many people i like and respect so much, i wouldn't want to disparage them by being embarrassed by the things they're into. on the one hand, i don't really talk about writing fic to ppl i know irl (a.s. you're on thin ice ;) ) but that's not so much about the writing itself but the not wanting to get into it. while i'm less proud of things the older they are, that's mostly because i like to think i'm growing as a writer, and this is just my hobby, but it does give me practice with skills i employ in my own original writing so. yeah!

yeah... i really shouldn't for safety reasons but in my head windows have bars on em so they're fine to leave open and then they're just not. last year there was work being done on the roof so there was a ladder up by my window and the cops knocked by to be like Close That Window Idiot. but my nice crisp air :(

12. what kind of day is it?

clay pigeons by micheal cera came on and that's the kind of day it is i think! a little stressful trying to make sure i can get two trains in a row but now that im on my last train things are soft. and i love train stations! and i love telephone wires in fields and i have seen lots of both today! but it feels soft and quiet and it has rained all day here and all the lights are so yellow and there is a toddler on this train that looks exactly how i did at that age! my childhoods are yellows and brown and golden and full of this kind of light i think. a day that is quiet and full of closeups

14. do you love the smell of earth after it rains?

YES! so much!! especially the summer rains! my family doesn't get why i open the doors of the conservatory when it rains in summer and i bring a chair and sit in the doorway so im not wet but can hear and smell and like. feel(?) the way the atmosphere changes. i love the rain!! and i am one of those people who can like feel when a good rains coming! a rainboy even
