yeah i'd like to hear about Willow :)
Thank you!
Willow Brianna Olson was born on February 11, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri.
She moved to New York after high school to attend drama classes at NYU and to pursue her dream career on Broadway.
Her faceclaim is Marilu Henner.
Tumblr media
This GIF really sums up the chaotic energy that it bubbling beneath her, by the way.
More under the cut.
Ray and Willow meet following the events of Ghostbusters II.
Willow knows Cathleen because they did a show together before the latter got pregnant and had to take leave.
Cathleen introduced the two of them when Willow came to meet baby Marie.
You know that scene at the beginning of HTTYD when Hiccup just looks at Astrid with the definition of heart eyes? That's what Ray is like from the moment Willow walks into his life.
Cathleen, being who she is, immediately sets the two of them up on a date.
It turns out that, in addition to her love of theater, Willow is very much fixated on the paranormal and supernatural like Ray.
Their courtship is very much a whirlwind, and they're engaged after six months of dating.
Cathleen is able to plan their wedding in three months.
Like Winston and Tiyah's wedding, Ray and Willow's wedding is interrupted by New York being thrown into paranormal distress AGAIN, but it is thankfully resolved (but not before they lose the reception hall and move the reception to the firehouse).
A couple of years later, Willow becomes pregnant.
Ray is just over the moon excited, and immediately throws himself to the role of being a father.
The baby is a girl that they name Addison Eleanor Stantz.
Sadly, in the months following Addison's birth came Egon and Cathleen's falling out with the Ghostbusters.
It got to the point that Willow and Cathleen had a physical altercation when Cathleen accused Willow of not believing Egon about Gozer's return.
Both Ray and Willow try to help each other heal after their friends' betrayal, and eventually welcome two more daughters-- Natalie Louise and an adoptive daughter, Grace Olivia.
Addison picks up on her parents' resentment, and holds a grudge of her own towards the Spenglers.
However, Natalie shows great interest in her father's past role as a Ghostbuster.
Following the events of Afterlife, while Willow is willing to admit her mistake in not believing Egon, she and Ray still hold resentment towards Cathleen for leaving them behind.

rey could have been the perfect mix of jaina and ben skywalker... but no. they had to make palps her grandaddy so raylow fan service could happen :/
Yup! I walked out of TFA opening night and accidentally called Rey Jaina so many times that I then had to explain to my friend the entire Solo kids history. EVERYTHING about that movie said that Rey was Luke's daughter. His saber called to her and sent her visions of him on the Death Star, she called it to her over his other grandchild, she dreamed of the island he was on when she'd never seen an ocean before, they were lonely desert kids who got pulled into central roles in conflicts much bigger than themselves. If Abrams wasn't so obsessed with mystique and intrigue, that movie would have ended with her finding Luke and him breaking down over seeing his long-lost daughter. But instead we got Rian "never seen a star wars movie in his life" Johnson who decided that he was more clever than anyone who'd come before him and that Star Wars' legacy is bullshit even while he brought back fucking Yoda's force ghost. And then Abrams came back and doubled down on all the terrible things that movie wrought, including making Rey an entirely different person than she was in TFA, not bothering to give Finn a storyline, and fucking bringing Palpatine back even though it makes no sense and not bothering to explain how IN THE SLIGHTEST.
I just can't get over that. They bring him back in the OPENING CRAWL and then never address how it happened! When it, even more than this trilogy already had, invalidates every movie that's come before it. 1-6 is the story of Anakin Skywalker bringing balance back to the Force by killing Palpatine and himself, thereby ending the Dark Side users in the galaxy. That's the story. He did that. We all watched it happen. But Star Wars can't just let men die! When has that ever stopped them? Boba Fett was a fucking hack who died in the sarlacc pit and he got brought back. Maul got CUT IN HALF and fell down a reactor but that doesn't matter! Palpatine got dropped down a shaft and exploded! But who cares! So even though there was a whole fucking prophecy and it was Anakin's ENTIRE JOURNEY, sure, bring Palpatine back!
After all, we can't make the story that actually needs to get told, of a woman murdering the nazi who only ever abused her! Actually, that's a romance! What a great message! We'll take the first trilogy about women and poc and completely pivot after the first movie to just eternally waste time on the question of if this grown man who has for his entire adult life devoted himself to the nazi cause and slaughtered untold millions and killed his own dad and tortured every single protagonist is actually a good guy! Girls, if you just keep giving the men who hurt you and gaslight you another chance eventually they'll turn out good! How Kennedy and Abrams managed to tell a story more misogynistic than 1970s George Lucas who thought there were only three women in the entire galaxy is truly fucking astounding.
They tried two times to match the "no, I am your father" moment. First when Kyle gaslights Rey into thinking she's nobody, and then when she becomes a Palpatine. But neither of those plots can ever match Luke and Vader, or if Rey had been a Skywalker. Luke and Vader is so iconic because all of a sudden these two people have a much, much deeper connection than Luke could have ever guessed. There's emotional stakes between them now. Vader isn't just a bad guy in a mask trying to kill him. He's the person Luke has been dreaming about his whole life, the person whose life he wanted to model his own after. And, as far as he knows, his only living blood relative left alive. Luke is invested now. Rey being nobody doesn't change her stakes at all. Kyle is still a fascist trying to murder her and her friends. Rey being a Palaptine doesn't change anything either. She still has to kill Palpatine, and there's still no ties between her and Kyle because again, every single interaction they've ever had he's tortured her, tried to kill her or her friends, or murdered a bunch of planets, or the only father figure she'd ever known.
When I walked into TFA, I hoped everything they'd told us was a red herring. I wanted Rey to be a fully trained jedi knight undercover on Jakku and for them to keep it hidden from the audience until things went sideways and Han, Luke, and Leia showed up and she was like, "hey, fam." I walked out of that movie convinced there was no way for this trilogy to end other than for Rey and Kyle to be a pale Jaina/Jacen imitation and that Rey would discover the weight of her own legacy and name after being revealed as Luke's daughter and having to murder her cousin to again bring balance to the force like their grandfather.
The fact that instead, they completely knocked Rey off course, tied her story so closely not just to a man's, but to the VILLAIN'S, to make all of her motivations and plots revolve entirely around him... it's disgusting. Star Wars has always failed women in general and specifically in the third act. Leia was made "softer" in ROTJ to placate fans, Padme died of a broken heart because George wanted to tie things up like a fairy tale and had all of her scenes about helping to found the rebellion that her children would one day finish cut because those scenes didn’t involve Anakin and therefore weren’t important, Rey validated her abuser because the narrative refused, after TFA, to see Kyle Ron for what he is. An unrepentant nazi murderer. Because being a white man in a fandom is more important than anything else, despite spending multiple movies watching him be a bad guy.
The only person who should have been the villain of this movie was Kyle Ron. Bringing Palpatine back for literally no reason, out of completely left field, not explaining it all, all in service of trying to redeem Kyle Ron? It’s bad storytelling. There was NOTHING to suggest Palpatine ever could or would return in this trilogy. Kyle has been there, from the beginning, being the villain. Letting Rey discover her heritage as a Skywalker, seeing her get the family she’s always longed for but in doing so learn about the trouble that name has brought to the galaxy. That it’s now her responsibility to try and right the wrongs that someone else of Skywalker blood has again wrought on the galaxy, pitting these two force users who this trilogy has focused on against each other, THAT’S the way this story should have ended. By letting me see Rey murder him, and then NOT HEAL HIM, which also makes no sense and is utterly nonsensical, like everything else TROS did. She can mourn her cousin after killing him for what he could have been, but literally never, not once, has Rey been given reason to feel anything remotely romantic or soft toward this man. At every turn he murdered planets, sent her friend into a coma, tried to kill her, tortured her other friend, slaughtered the new jedi order, invaded her mind regularly.... that’s not romance. Disney trying to present it as such is truly unforgivable.

How can RayLowes be out here denying Rey and Kylo are gonna end up being related when the TIE fighter scene in the beginning of the TROS trailer has the exact same sibling hate energy as the scene in GOTG 2 when Gamora's out in the field and Nebula tries to crash into her in that ship
they have no critical thinking skills is why
I didn’t even notice that before they totally have the same energy like exactly the same energy! the raw sibling/cousin energy it exudes is tremendous
watch kylo crash trying to hurt rey while she’s on top of the ship, rey pull him out of the destroyed ship only to destroy kylo even further bc she’s just that heated and the scene from the trailer is only the beginning of a fight scene ugh

bc i’ve been told you very much love the griffin sis, i shall give you a bloop for her.
The last name she uses and her legal name are two different names. She uses the surname “Raylow” is Callamus’s last name that she took when she got picked up by his group of orphans and trouble children. Her legal birthname, however is Lily Carvasson.
