If Ken hadn’t become the Kaiser, what kind of person do you think he’d be? Do you think he became kinder as a result of his experience? Obviously he’d still be a kind person if he hadn’t become the Kaiser, but I wonder if he has any lingering anxiety about becoming cruel again due to being the Kaiser.

It's hard to say unless we know what did happen in place of that (did he ever find a support group, if not, how much longer did he have to stay alone?), etc., but I also don't think there wouldn't have been some other event in his life that might have also gotten him to reconsider himself and his actions. In general, I feel like even if the events of Digimon Adventure/02/whatnot hadn't happened in the exact way they did, there are certain realizations or feelings the characters still would have had even with different but comparable circumstances.

I kind of attempted making Ryo and Osamu looking like they're dressing up as Ultimate level Digimon, which was a little hard after I realized that Ryo's normal outfit already looks like Justimon, so sorry about that! I do like how the outfits came out, though! Thank you for the suggestion!

Do your birbs ever beg for food by opening their beaks slightly and licking the inside of them? I vaguely remember Amiga doing this, but I don’t see it mentioned in any body language guides so I wondered if it was just an Amiga thing.

Good question! To be honest, I don't think I've ever noticed my guys begging for food? Adora will run/fly up to me if I have some food she wants, and Zelda does a little dance if she gets excited about something, but I've not noticed beak licking myself! (Ayato and Allana also aren't food motivated at all!)

Interesting to hear about though, I wonder if anyone else has seen this in birbs?

What are your thoughts on these headcanons? (Sorry in advance, I’m a bit preoccupied with Osamu orz).

The Dark Ocean can be accessed in one of two ways: following someone who was pulled there (Takeru, Miyako) or after witnessing the death of someone you know (Maki and Bakumon, Hikari and Wizarmon, Ken and Osamu).

Osamu was retroactively created via reality warping when Ken was infected with a Dark Seed so that Ken would want to be smarter. He was also killed via space and time manipulation - he and the driver both saw a green light, and the driver’s reaction time was inexplicably slower for just that split second.

Having said that, there are alternate timelines where he wasn’t killed for whatever reason - i.e., Ryō or some other entity’s interference. In most of these timelines, he and Ken get along better as they get older, though sometimes they need a little nudging.

There’s also a timeline where Ken died and Osamu was manipulated. He created MugenDramon, whose soul ended up in a pocket dimension at the same time as Ken’s Chimeramon’s, resulting in Millenniummon. In a sense, Millenniummon was born from both brothers’ grief for each other and destructive ways of dealing with that grief.

Switching gears/characters: Wallace’s father is a trucker, a career which he mainly chose so that he could travel as part of his job. Wallace inherited his wanderlust from him. Wallace also has a love for nature and eventually becomes a park ranger.

Amy (an offscreen character that was briefly mentioned in Hurricane Touchdown) is a quiet, somewhat nerdy girl who’s usually ignored by her classmates. Wallace is one of the few people who’s consistently friendly with her. She eventually becomes a video game developer.

Shū practiced judo in high school.

As for your headcanons:

That seems logical, and I wouldn't be surprised if Takeru could access it on his own since he technically lost Angemon once before. Also, I feel as if I've heard this before, so I believe it from the get go.

I'm... never a fan of stuff like this, if I'm being honest. As an older sister myself, I'd prefer not to think about what's-his-face being that evil that his Dark Seeds created an entire person. Also, how would Ken's parents have known about Osamu if he wasn't technically real,,,,,? I dunno, these kind of things make me squicky.

Now alternate timelines I enjoy. Whatever the scientific theory is, I do believe there is a version of Ken that didn't have to suffer that much as a young kiddo. Plus, he deserves some sort of universe where he and Osamu got to be better to each other.

DO THEY MEET UP AND GET TO SEE THEIR OTHER-UNIVERSE BROTHERS? DO THEY GET TO HUG IT OUT? DO THEY HEAL EACH OTHER'S PAIN KNOWING THAT THEY STILL LOVE EACH OTHER? TELL ME MORRREEEEEEEE

No wonder he was able to get around places. I approve. Also, park rangers are cool, he should totally do it.

I,,,,know nothing about offscreen characters, so I have no idea how I'm supposed to have thoughts on them (^^"), but it sounds nice!

From me having to look up who exactly that is for a second and what I read, that seems entirely plausible since he was apparently at some sort of training camp during 01.

Curious if you have any headcanons regarding Amy, the girl Wallace talked to on the phone?

I imagine her as Wallace’s younger sister and a bit of a deadpan snarker. Her dream is to become a game developer, and her (eventual) partner is FanBeemon -> Waspmon. Though it’s been a minute since I’ve seen HT, so I don’t know if this fits with canon.

Aah, apologies for letting this get lost in my inbox! This is a GREAT question! I think the only thought I had about her was (in keeping with 02's trend of having its main characters being youngest siblings or only children), she might be his older sister... maybe one who's old enough to have moved out and live on her own (perhaps she was the reason Wallace's mom moved herself and Wallace to New York in the first place?), or still lives with them but is completely absorbed in her own life, and really can't be bothered with whatever her younger brother and his weird dog-bunny thing get up to now that they can basically take care of themselves.

I had never considered her as being younger, but I like your headcanon for her!

If Sora ends up not becoming an iemoto, would she likely take Yamato’s surname? Or is her family still prominent enough that Yamato would take hers, even if she doesn’t have the position?

Sadly, as much as I've tried to look for an answer to this question, I've never found it! Usually for topics like these, I look into Japanese personal blogs and such to get an idea of what the average person might know (I definitely trust them more than Westerners blogging about Japan), but in the case of the iemoto, information really isn't that common, probably due to the specificity of the topic and the fact it varies between families. Furthermore, female iemoto are still such an uncommon thing that it's hard to find precedent. I did see at least one case where the daughter of an iemoto family changed out her surname upon her marriage despite otherwise maintaining her connections to the family and work in the art, but I really couldn't find anything consistent.

That being said, a lot of it boils down to the couple in question as well; while taking the wife's surname is very rare and often even discouraged, especially due to a fixation with "the husband's surname continuing on", there are still cases like an infamous one where a certain actor took his wife's surname because it would have less paperwork. (He still used his old name as his stage name anyway, but that's normal for everyone.) So in the end, it would probably be up to what Sora and Yamato decide.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the rival’s default name Hiroshi in the Japanese Yellow version? The Satoshi expy from the original Kanto Pokemon League episodes was named Hiroshi (dub name Ritchie), but I don’t know if it’s a coincidence. Hiroshi is a very common Japanese name IIRC.

How do you pronounce Ayato?

Personally I flit between Ah-YAH-toh and Eye-YAH-toh depending on my voice at the time. Really it's somewhere between the two of those (I'm kinda bad at writing down pronunciations)

Although if I'm in a rush it often just becomes 'Yatto!'
