Would an alter who tries to enforce dissociative barriers, who makes you quickly forget things you weren’t meant to see, and who doesn’t let certain alters know about trauma, or anything else internally, be considered a gatekeeper? From what I can tell, they do not control who fronts when, and I’ve always seen that as a definition of what a gatekeeper is. So I wonder if an alter can be a gatekeeper without being in control of who’s fronting.

So this happened last night:

This is the first time I (or any other alter, from what I remember) had a flashback like that to something trauma related. I’ve been having a couple experiences of suddenly seeing/feeling a particular moment in the past that I usually can’t remember, only for a second, but it was always just random moments. This one… the feeling I got was that something really wrong and bad was happening. It’s such a familiar feeling. And this gives me hope. Something is changing. Maybe we will be ready soon.

(Also directly after this I saw someone (in innerworld I suppose) point a gun at me. And then someone said “busted.” I feel like those may be related. We definitely have an alter who wants to keep these memories locked away.)

Answering your call for gale content… (idk if you could even consider this a headcanon but w/e). In sharess’ caress when you talk to the drow twins, they go “oh I see you brought your partner with you.” But in game there was like, no real way for them to guess that? the party was all just standing behind tav like normal. Anyway I like to imagine that while tav was talking to them, Gale was getting increasingly uncomfortable and also jealous so he just like… stepped a little closer and casually grabbed their hand, in a clear gesture of ‘excuse u tav is mine’ (but also a little bit in a ‘babe I don’t like it here can we go’ way). Anyway I imagine that to be what actually prompts the twins to be like ‘oh your partners here… so, foursome? ;)’

Ah, the infamous Drow twins! God, just thinking about Gale getting jealous and like, walking up to Tav and wrapping his arm around their shoulders/waist to be like “excuse you this is MY Tav” is great. I think Gale is normally not a very jealous person but sometimes… sometimes it’s Drow twins.
