You’d be forgiven for thinking SAG-AFTRA’s negotiating committee was actually a film cast playing a negotiating committee. The group backing up Crabtree-Ireland in the talks is, naturally, full of actors, including Sean Astin, the “Lord of the Rings,” “Goonies” and “Stranger Things” star whose mother, Patty Duke, was president of the guild in the 1980s.
Astin gave a shout out to his mom, who died in 2016, at an August 22 rally.
“Any background actors out there, any stunt performers, singers and dancers and puppeteers and pilots? We represent all of you,” Astin shouted. “I invoke the name of my mother Patty Duke, former president of the Screen Actors Guild, mama come down here right now and look at these people!”

SAG-AFTRA Strike and Halloween
Today, a person I know on Facebook tagged me hoping to goad me into an argument. However, in just a few short sentences I was able to describe the situation plainly enough that she understood. Decided to bring it over here for anyone lacking clarity.
My Union doesn't own me, no. But, do I stand in solidarity with my Union by refusing to promote struck studios for free? Hell, yeah!
We are not asking for much. Not when you consider the billions of profits made off of our labor. We are simply asking to be compensated fairly, and for AI protections. This is not unreasonable.
I've spent the last two months crafting a couples cosplay for my husband and I based on a struck show's couple, thrifting what I could and grabbing fabric at the local store for one bit. I was so proud and excited to debut it this Halloween.
Now, I am choosing to stand in solidarity with my Union and postpone. Am I mad at SAG-AFTRA? Hell, no! I'm mad at AMPTP for forcing this Strike. They can end it at any time, but choose not to.
I stand in Solidarity with my Union. SAG-AFTRA strong!

What the WGA was offered on May 1st vs what they achieved through 5 months of striking, if anyone is interested. AI issues are at the very bottom of the document, starting on the bottom of page 6.

SAG-AFTRA has reached an agreement with the AMPTP.
Sean Astin, a SAG-AFTRA negotiating committee member, said it was gratifying to be able to tell the strike captains that “their sacrifice worked”: “People have put so much of themselves. The toll it takes is real,” he said. “The level of emotion is impossible to overstate.”

David Zaslav is a fool for refusing to speak with SAG-AFTRA, and Warner Bros. Discovery shareholders should not allow it.

I think the only reason why Prime hasn't announced season 3 of Good Omens is because of the actor strike so studio executives please make a good deal with the actors so they can get back to making the shows that we love so much
in the meantime stay SAG-AFTRA strong!
